NXT Championship match part of next week’s WWE NXT lineup

Two title matches are part of next week’s NXT lineup.

Tony D’Angelo announced on Tuesday that he would be defending his title next week against Kam Hendrix. But he also wanted to address someone else: Naraku, who came to the ring. The former EVIL explained that he would make sure D’Angelo retains the title next week, as they are meant to wage war over the title.

Meanwhile, Lexis King will defend his Speed Championship against Romeo Moreno, who defeated Nathan Fraizer in a surprise upset on Tuesday with just seconds left to go in their match. Moreno advances to the finals after Dorian Van Dux and Sean Legacy went to a time limit draw in their match earlier in the night.

After DarkState took out Saquon Shugars from the group last week, they explained their actions on Tuesday, saying he was an independent wrestler while they were D1 athletes. They also promised they would be going after people again, making a statement later in the show when they jumped Myles Borne and Tavion Heights as they were arguing backstage, setting up a tag match for next week.

Other matches will see Lizzie Rain looking to gain a measure of revenge over Zaria, while Tate Wilder will face Jackson Drake after throwing out a challenge during a backstage segment.

Title matches, last woman standing match part of two-week WWE NXT Revenge lineup

A two-week event will kick off next week with two title matches.

Tony D’Angelo will defend the NXT title next week at NXT Revenge week one on The CW against Ethan Page. They, along with Joe Hendry and Ricky Saints, scored the win in an eight-man tag team match against DarkState on Tuesday. Page pinned Saquon Shugars after pushing away D’Angelo to get the glory for his team.

After the match, D’Angelo laid him out with the dead to rights chokeslam. Robert Stone later made a title match between the two official for next week’s show, the first night of Revenge.

Also set for night one is Jacy Jayne getting her NXT Championship rematch against Lola Vice. As the new NXT Champion was celebrating in the ring, Jayne interrupted and demanded another shot. Stone came out and made the second title match official for next week.

In addition to the two title matches, week one of Revenge will see Jaida Parker face Kelani Jordan, EK Prosper facing Dorian Van Dux in another Speed tournament qualifier, and Hendry will hold a concert to discuss his future following his title loss.

Week two of Revenge will see Sol Ruca taking on Zaria in a Last Woman Standing match. The latter made it clear on Tuesday it wasn’t over between them, spearing Ruca during her match against Izzi Dame. In addition, the men’s Speed tournament finals will take place to crown a new champion and EVOLVE standout Kali Armstrong will make her debut.

Tony D’Angelo wins WWE NXT Championship at Stand & Deliver

Tony D’Angelo is the new NXT Champion.

The longtime NXT star finally won the brand’s top title at Stand & Deliver, defeating Joe Hendry, Ethan Page, and Ricky Saints in a four way match. The finish had D’Angelo putting both Page and Saints through the announce table, meeting Joe Hendry back in the ring. D’Angelo cut off Hendry with a spear and pinned him after hitting the dead to rights chokeslam. The show ended with D’Angelo standing tall, holding his new championship.

D’Angelo returned at the end of last year remaining silent about his intentions at first. However, he ultimately revealed two goals of his: taking out DarkState and eventually winning the NXT Championship. After defeating Dion Lennox at Vengence Day, he made his title ambitions clear.

Two others wanted a crack at Hendry, however: Page and Saints. D’Angelo faced Saints in a number one contender’s match but Page interfered, causing a disqualification. Robert Stone eventually announced the four-way for St. Louis.

Hendry held the title for 60 days, winning a ladder match for the vacant title on the February 3 edition of NXT.

NXT Championship match participants set, new title match added to next week’s show

The participants for next week’s NXT Championship ladder match are set.

Dion Lennox, Keanu Carver, Jackson Drake, and Joe Hendry have all been added to next week’s ladder match that will crown a new NXT Champion. They join Shiloh Hill, Ricky Saints, and Sean Legacy, who were either added or qualified on last week’s show.

Lennox and Carver won their qualifying matches on Tuesday, defeating Myles Borne and Andre Chase respectively. The show opened with Joe Hendry being laid out as Jackson Drake was caught holding a steel chair. Ava threatened to fire Vanity Project for the attack, but Drake pointed out she couldn’t prove they attacked him. Ava eventually agreed to put Drake in the match, but also added that Vanity Project were banned from ringisde and if Hendry were medically cleared, he would be added to the match as well.

The final moments of NXT saw the ladder match participants attack one another. Ricky Saints grabbed a ladder to grab the title but Hendry appeared, taking out Saints with the standing ovation. However, Carver appeared in the ring and took out Hendry to end the show with him standing tall.

After Sol Ruca and Zaria became the new number one contenders for the TNA Knockouts Tag Team titles, it was confirmed that they will face the Elegance Brand on next week’s show. Tension continued to build between Ruca and Zaria, with the latter upset that Ruca wasn’t with her on Tuesday.

It was also revealed that Ava had bailed out Tony D’Angelo because NXT needs him, and needs to know what his intentions are. D’Angelo met with Ava backstage and said he would give an answer regarding that next week. D’Angelo went to leave, but not before Ava told him to not interfere in next week’s ladder match.

Tag Team title match, more qualifiers set for next week’s WWE NXT

A Tag Team title match is set for next week’s NXT.

During a promo outside the WWE Performance Center, OTM announced that they would be getting a shot at Darkstate on next week’s show. They aided Joe Hendry in defeating Dion Lennox in a no disqualification match last week. Right before the show ended, the Tag Team title match was confirmed.

Three more qualifying matches were also set for next Tuesday. Lennox will square off against Myles Borne, Joe Hendry will face EVOLVE Champion Jackson Drake, and Keanu Carver will face Andre Chase. The winners of these matches will advance to the ladder match to crown a new NXT Champion on February 3.

Shiloh Hill and Sean Legacy became the first two men to qualify for the NXT Championship match on Tuesday, defeating Josh Briggs and Eli Knight respectively. Ricky Saints mentioned on Tuesday that he didn’t have to qualify and was already added to the match.

Number one contender qualifying matches set for next week’s WWE NXT

Two NXT Championship qualifying matches will take place on next week’s show.

On Tuesday, it was announced that a six-person ladder match would determine the next NXT Champion on the February 3 edition of the program. The first two qualifying matches will take place on next week’s show. The first will feature Josh Briggs taking on Shiloh Hill, the latter of whom failed to win the TNA International title from Stacks.

The second qualifying match will have Sean Legacy taking on Eli Knight, the latter of whom has officially been called up to NXT from EVOLVE.

The North American title will also be on the line when Ethan Page defends against the debuting Elio LeFleur. After Page argued with Ava about being put in the ladder match, the NXT General Manager said he should be focused on the North American title instead, setting up next week’s title match.

A three-way tag team match will also determine the next challengers for the TNA Knockouts Tag team titles that are currently held by the IInspiration. Sol Ruca & Zaria, Fatal Influence, and Kendal Grey & Wren Sinclair will battle it out to determine the next number one contenders.

WWE reveals plans to crown new NXT Champion

It’s another ladder match.

The start of Tuesday’s NXT show had Ava in the ring surrounded by male NXT talent. It was there that she announced that a six-man ladder match would be held on the February 3 edition of NXT. The winner of that match will be crowned the new champion, with qualifying matches starting on next week’s show.

After the announcement, a brawl broke out amongst the talent. But one stood out in particular: EVOLVE’s Keanu Carver, who quickly took out everyone in his path by throwing them into the crowd and even took out one person by putting them through the announce table. In the end, he was the only man left standing.

Oba Femi had successfully retained the NXT Championship at last week’s New Year’s Evil when a backstage segment was shown featuring Ava talking to EVOLVE talent. Suddenly Mr. Stone arrived and asked Ava if she had saw what Femi had just done. The final moments of the show revealed that Femi had left the NXT Championship in the ring, with Tony D’Angelo looking on in the background. NXT confirmed later in the week that the title had been declared vacant.

Two new segments announced for WWE NXT

The NXT Championship situation will be addressed on Tuesday’s show.

WWE posted to social media on Saturday that NXT General Manager Ava will speak about the future of the title on NXT’s show on The CW next week.

WWE wrote:

“After being vacated by @Obaofwwe, @avawwe_will address the future of the NXT Championship THIS TUESDAY on #WWENXT! 📺 8e/7c on @TheCW.”

Following successfully retaining the title in a match against Leon Slater in the main event of last week’s show, Femi left the title belt in the ring. WWE announced the following day that the NXT Championship was officially vacated.

NXT later posted on social media that Izzi Dame will be speaking on the show. This comes after she won the Women’s NXT North American title in surprising fashion on Tuesday, defeating Thea Hail in an open challenge.

The updated lineup for Tuesday’s show is below:

WWE NXT lineup for Tuesday, January 13:

  • No disqualification: Joe Hendry vs. Dion Lennox
  • TNA International title: Stacks defends against Shiloh Hill
  • Men’s WWE Speed Championship: Jasper Troy defends against Tavion Heights
  • Lola Vice vs. Kelani Jordan
  • Ava to address the future of the NXT Championship
  • We’ll hear from Izzi Dame

WWE confirms status of NXT Championship

If last night’s ending wasn’t clear enough, WWE has confirmed that the NXT Championship is now officially vacant.

NXT New Year’s Evil 2026 culminated with Oba Femi leaving his NXT Championship belt in the ring after retaining against Leon Slater. It remains to be seen how a new champion will be crowned, but WWE sent out an announcement today addressing the status of the title.

“After his victory at #NewYearsEvil, Oba Femi has officially vacated the #WWENXT Championship,” WWE wrote. “Stay tuned for more details.”

Femi — a dominant presence in NXT during his run on the brand — is joining the WWE main roster soon. Videos hyping his call-up have aired on recent episodes of both Raw and SmackDown. Originally from Nigeria. Femi is a former shot putter for the University of Alabama. He debuted in 2022 after having been part of the WWE NIL program.

During New Year’s Evil, NXT General Manager Ava spoke to the WWE Evolve roster and said there will be a lot of opportunities for newcomers in NXT with Femi, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, Lash Legend, and Jordynne Grace all being called up. Ava indicated that there will be other call-ups as well.

NXT Championship match confirmed for Deadline

A match for the NXT Championship is now set for Deadline.

Oba Femi will challenge Ricky Saints for the NXT Championship on December 6 in San Antonio, Texas. As Saints was set to deliver a promo on Tuesday, Femi immediately cut him off and the two had a war of words, with Femi saying he took time off to go to the motherland and become the version of himself that will beat Saints at Deadline. The two agreed to the title match for next month.

Suddenly, Trick Williams arrived and said he wasn’t done with Saints and wouldn’t be until he is NXT Champion once again. However, he was then jumped from behind by Myles Borne, retaliation for Williams’ attack the week prior. Borne told the two that he would win the men’s Iron Survivor Challenge and see them at New Year’s Evil.

Femi had been NXT Champion for most of the year, winning it at New Year’s Evil. However, Saints ended his nine-month reign at No Mercy. After Saints stood tall over Williams in their Last Man Standing match on last week’s NXT, Femi returned, making it clear he was aiming for the title once again.

NXT Deadline (December 6):

  • NXT Championship: Ricky Saints defends against Oba Femi
  • Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge: participants TBA
  • Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge: participants TBA

Next WWE NXT Championship match booked, stipulation set

The next NXT Championship match is official.

After a show-long storyline saw Trick Williams and Ricky Saints brawl around the WWE Performance Center, Ava finally stopped the attack by announcing that the two will meet in a Last Man Standing match in two weeks on the November 11 edition of NXT.

The start of Tuesday’s show saw an irate Williams storm into the WWE Performance Center and demand another shot at the NXT Championship, saying he beat Saints. Ava came out and claimed otherwise. Saints emerged and ran down to the ring as the two brawled. After two hours, they emerged during the main event, still brawling. Both ended up crashing through a wall near ringside. That was when Ava came out and declared that the two will meet in two weeks.

Following his TNA Championship loss at Bound for Glory, Williams called his shot for Saints’ NXT Championship. The two met at Halloween Havoc, but it was Saints that emerged as the winner.

NXT (November 11)

  • Last Man Standing for NXT Championship: Ricky Saints defends against Trick Williams
  • WWE Speed Championship: El Grande Americano defends against Jasper Troy

New champion crowned at WWE NXT No Mercy

A new NXT Champion has been crowned.

Ricky Saints ended up being the person to topple Oba Femi at Saturday’s No Mercy premium live event, defeating The Ruler of NXT to win the NXT Championship for the first time. The finish came when Starks kicked out of Femi’s fall from grace powerbomb. Femi went for the move a second time, but Saints cut off Femi with a DDT. He then followed with a tornado DDT to win the match and the championship.

NXT No Mercy closed with Saints celebrating with the championship.

Femi had held the title for most of 2025, winning it from Trick Williams back at NXT New Year’s Evil on January 7.

Saints started making his claim for the NXT Championship following Heatwave, which saw Femi retain against Je’Von Evans. However, the last few weeks had seen Femi confront former foe Williams, leading to a TNA title vs. NXT title match on this past Tuesday’s NXT. No winner emerged after the NXT and TNA locker rooms emptied leading to an interpromotional brawl. Saints had his focus on the NXT title, but Femi emerged and the two had a staredown in the closing moments of the program.

TNA invasion takes place on WWE NXT

TNA and NXT still have two different champions.

Tuesday’s show saw Trick Williams exchange words with TNA’s Mike Santana, who was on commentary during the title-for-title match between TNA Champion Williams and NXT Champion Oba Femi. Williams slapped Santana, leading him to strike back as the referee called for the bell. TNA talent who were seen sitting in the crowd got up and entered the ring as they began fighting with the NXT roster, causing the show to end in a wild interpromotional brawl.

Throughout Tuesday’s show, various TNA stars were seen roaming around the backstage area, including Matt Cardona, Moose, Eric Young, Xia Brookside, Lei Ying Lee, Victoria Crawford, Steve Maclin, Steph De Lander, Mance Warner, Cedric Alexander, and Zachary Wentz. The IInspiration and Frankie Kazarian were also seen in the crowd during the title match as the rest of the TNA roster entered to watch.

After the show went off the air, Shawn Michaels posted a video of himself reacting to the angle taking place.

“This doesn’t end here @ThisIsTNA. #WeAreNXT,” he wrote.

On last week’s NXT, much of the TNA roster posted messages on social media becoming frustrated about the relationship between NXT and TNA. Those messages continued when it was announced on the Grayson Waller Effect that a title for title match between Femi and Williams would take place next week.

WWE NXT Championship match set for No Mercy

Ricky Saints is heading to No Mercy.

Saints will get his shot at Oba Femi on September 27 after winning a number one contender’s match against Josh Briggs. This follows the events of Heatwave, where Saints confronted Femi after he successfully defeated Je’Von Evans to retain the NXT Championship.

Briggs cut off Saints’ promo at the start of the show and the two traded barbs, causing NXT General Manager Ava to come out and make the number one contendership match for later that night. The two fought back and forth but it was Saints who got the win with a tornado DDT to pick up the hard-fought victory.

After the match, Saints called out Oba Femi as the two proceeded to exchange words. Femi told Saints that he lied when he said he saw nothing in him at Heatwave, because what he sees now is fear. Suddenly, DarkState arrived and beat down the two until Hank & Tank ran out for the save. An eight-man tag team match was then made for next week’s show.

WWE NXT No Mercy (September 27):

  • NXT Championship: Oba Femi defends against Ricky Saints
  • NXT Women’s Championship: Jacy Jayne defends against Lola Vice
  • WWE Women’s Speed title: Sol Ruca defends against TBA

Oba Femi wins WWE NXT Championship at New Year’s Evil

Oba Femi is the new NXT Champion.

At NXT New Year’s Evil, he defeated Trick Williams and Eddy Thorpe in a three-way match to become the new champion. This ends Williams’ reign with the championship after 93 days, when he defeated Ethan Page for the title during NXT’s premiere on the CW back on October 1.

The finish had Williams going for the trick knee as Thorpe looked to use a steel chair. However, Femi saw Williams coming and threw him into Thorpe, colliding into both Thorpe and the chair. Femi then hit the pop up powerbomb to win the title.

After the match, Femi exited the ring and met with Giulia on the stage, who earlier in the night won the NXT Women’s Championship. Both of the new champions held their titles high as the segment ended.

Femi had earned the title match after winning the Iron Survivor Challenge during the Deadline premium live event last month. Thorpe, who had originally qualified for the Iron Survivor match, faked an injury to take himself out and instead managed to talk his way into a title match against Trick Williams before exposing his ruse to GM Ava. After the controversial ending to their title match that saw a double pin, Thorpe was added to the New Year’s Evil title bout, making it a three-way.

Earlier at New Year’s Evil, Thorpe was seen laid out again as Ava came to investigate. She didn’t believe Thorpe this time around, but Femi backstage later admitted to attacking him as revenge over Thorpe’s attack on both him and Williams on last week’s show.
