TNA announces Queen of the Ring movie partnership for Sacrifice

Those watching Friday’s TNA Sacrifice will see extensive branding for the new Queen of the Ring movie on the life of the legendary Mildred Burke.

The promotion announced a partnership/sponsorship on Thursday, stating that for Friday’s streaming special from El Paso, Texas, fans will see branding on the ring canvas, a match sponsorship, behind-the-scenes footage and both “digital and social support.”

The match sponsorship will be for Masha Slamovich’s Knockouts title defense against NXT’s Cora Jade.

The film on Burke hit theatres last weekend and features current day wrestlers like Toni Storm and Kamille in key roles. According to Box Office Mojo, the film has brought in nearly $500,000 domestically as of Thursday.

Actors from the movie appeared at last Sunday’s AEW Revolution with Damaris Lewis’ innocent comment about how wrestlers know they’re going to win before anyone else does sticking out to those on social media. It was not stated whether any actors or director/writer Ash Avildsen will be in attendance Friday.

Here’s the current lineup:

  • TNA Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich defends against Cora Jade
  • Joe Hendry, Matt Hardy, Elijah, Leon Slater & Nic Nemeth vs. Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers, JDC, Epico Colon & Primo Colon in a steel cage match
  • TNA X-Division Champion Moose defends against Jeff Hardy in a ladder match

The match features TNA Champion Joe Hendry, Matt Hardy, Elijah, Nic Nemeth, and Leon Slater vs. Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers, JDC, Primo Colon, and Epico Colon.

Before the two teams square off in the cage, Slater and Edwards will go one-on-one on next week’s Impact.

TNA Sacrifice streams on TNA Plus on Friday, March 14. The lineup:

Nemeth has been on hiatus from TNA after a storyline suspension, with his return already hyped for Sacrifice. We now know that his return will be in the 10-man tag.

Mustafa Ali vs. Mike Santana added to TNA Sacrifice

Rivals Mustafa Ali and Mike Santana are set to do battle later this month.

TNA Wrestling has added Ali vs. Santana to the card for Sacrifice 2025, which is taking place from El Paso, Texas on Friday, March 14. The show is a live TNA+ special.

Things have gotten personal with the heel Ali playing mind games with Santana on Impact in recent weeks. Santana — who is now two years sober — was attending an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in one segment when Ali interrupted it to prod him. Santana kept his cool, but Ali interrupted him again the following week with a video accusing Santana of falling off the wagon.

Ali plays a heel politician in TNA and is aligned with John Skyler, Jason Hotch & Tasha Steelz. Santana vs. Skyler is airing on TNA Impact this Thursday.

Santana is on a journey hoping to become TNA World Champion — a title that is held by Joe Hendry at the moment.

Here is the updated Sacrifice card:

  • TNA Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich defends against Cora Jade
  • Joe Hendry, Matt Hardy, Elijah, TBA & TBA vs. Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers, JDC, Epico Colon & Primo Colon
  • Ladder match: TNA X-Division Champion Moose defends against Jeff Hardy
  • Mustafa Ali vs. Mike Santana
  • Tessa Blanchard vs. Lei Ying Lee
  • Wes Lee, Tyriek Igwe & Tyson Dupont vs. Zachary Wentz, Trey Miguel & Ace Austin

TNA has added four matches to the lineup for its Sacrifice event on Friday, March 14.

X-Division Champion Moose will defend his title against Jeff Hardy in a ladder match at Sacrifice. TNA authority figure Santino Marella made the match official following this week’s Impact main event where Moose, Brian Myers and Eddie Edwards defeated The Hardys and NXT Champion Oba Femi in the main event.

Tessa Blanchard will be in action at Sacrifice in another new match added to the card during this week’s Impact, taking on Lei Ying Lee (the former Xia Li).

Also at Sacrifice, TNA World Champion Joe Hendry will team with Matt Hardy, Elijah, and two partners yet to be announced against the team of Primo Colon, Epico Colon, Brian Myers, Eddie Edwards, and JDC in a 10-man tag.

Rounding out the new additions to the March 14 card, Sami Callihan will take on Mance Warner in a street fight.

First matches signed for TNA Sacrifice, both feature WWE NXT talent

The first two matches are set for TNA Sacrifice on March 14, both featuring talent from WWE NXT.

As revealed during Thursday’s live TNA Impact, Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich will defend against WWE NXT’s Cora Jade at Sacrifice.

Jade appeared on Thursday’s live Impact in a sneak attack on Slamovich, with authority figure Santino Marella later making the title bout official for the Friday, March 14 TNA Plus special.

A six-man tag team match will also take place at Sacrifice, with NXT’s Wes Lee, Tyson Dupont, and Tyriek Igwe teaming against The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz & Trey Miguel) and Ace Austin. Wentz and Miguel defeated Dupont and Igwe in tag team action on Thursday’s show, with Lee and Austin ringside. Lee issued the challenge for the match at Sacrifice which was later officially announced.

A Knockouts Tag Team match with Spitifre’s Jody Threat and Dani Luna defending against Ash by Elegance and Heather by Elegance was also hinted at on the show, but TNA has yet to officially add it to the Sacrifice card.

Nic Nemeth’s return from his storyline suspension for hitting Marella with a superkick will also end at Sacrifice as the former World Champion announced he will be making his comeback on the show.

The Big Vinny V Show: TNA Sacrifice with Moose vs. Eric Young

It’s the long-awaited review of Sacrifice, the latest PPV/PLE/app special from Total Nonstop Action.

The show had some good stuff—Nic Nemeth vs. Steve Maclin, Brian Myers & Eddie Edwards challenging the ABC for the tag titles, Mustafa Ali & the Grizzled Young Veterans vs. Time Machine, and Jordynne Grace defending the Knockouts title against Xia Brookside and Tasha Steelz.

But it also had some stuff that felt like it belonged on another show in another era—Kon vs. PCO, Josh Alexander vs. Hammerstone, and Moose defending the TNA title against Eric Young in the main event. And finally, it had the Knockouts tag division, which pretty much always sucks.

TNA Sacrifice results & notes: New champions, technical issues

Both sets of Tag Team titles changed hands as part of Friday’s TNA Sacrifice — a show that had some streaming viewers frustrated by early technical issues.

The System’s Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers defeated ABC (Chris Bey & Ace Austin) to take home the men’s Tag Team titles following the heels hitting Austin with a Roster Cut/Boston Knee Party combo to pick up the win.

It’s the sixth-such title reign for Edwards and the second for Myers. The victory ends the 139-day second title run for Bey and Austin.

Later on the show, the Knockouts Tag Team titles found a new home with a relatively new team as Spitfire (Dani Luna & Jody Threat) defeated MK Ultra (Masha Slamovich & Killer Kelly).

After Kelly was rolled up by Threat for the surprise win, Slamovich shoved Kelly in frustration after the match.

It’s the first TNA title run for either Luna or Threat while the win ends the short second reign of MK Ultra that began just two weeks ago with their win over Decay (Havok & Rosemary).

Laredo Kid off TNA Sacrifice due to travel issues

TNA Wrestling has had to change up one of the matches planned for tonight’s Sacrifice event.

TNA announced this afternoon that, while Crazzy Steve vs. Laredo Kid for the Digital Media Championship was planned for the Sacrifice pre-show, that will no longer be happening. Laredo Kid is off Sacrifice due to travel issues. In his place, Joe Hendry will challenge for Crazzy Steve’s title.

“Laredo Kid is unable to compete at Sacrifice due to travel issues,” TNA announced. “He was meant to challenge Crazzy Steve for the Digital Media Championship on Countdown to Sacrifice, however Santino Marella has put the longest reigning Digital Media Champion, Joe Hendry, in his place against Crazzy Steve.”

Crazzy Steve has been Digital Media Champion since defeating Tommy Dreamer for the title this January.

Austin & Bey are two-time TNA Tag Team Champions. Their current reign with the titles began at Bound for Glory last October.

Recently, ABC retained their belts against The Grizzled Young Veterans in a best-of-three series. The series ended with ABC winning 2-1 after Austin & Bey defeated The Grizzled Young Veterans at No Surrender.

Four new matches official for TNA Sacrifice

Four new matches are official for TNA Sacrifice on Friday, March 8.

After potential top contenders Tasha Steelz & Xia Brookside went to a double countout on Thursday’s Impact, Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace announced that she would defend her title against both competitors at Sacrifice in a triple threat bout.

Nic Nemeth will also return to a TNA ring at Sacrifice against Steve Maclin. MAcin defeated Mike Bailey on Thursday’s Impact, then called Nemeth out. Nemeth responded with a video saying that while he was off winning the IWGP Global Championship in NJPW, he was challenging Maclin to a match. The bout was later made official on Impact.

A trios match has also been added to the Sacrifice card. New X-Division Champion Mustafa Ali will team with John Skyler & Jason Hotch against Chris Sabin, KUSHIDA & Kevin Knight at the event after the trio crashed Ali’s title celebration ceremony on Impact.

Also set for the show is Josh Alexander vs. new TNA signee Alex Hammerstone in a rematch from January’s Hard to Kill show. We covered Hammerstone’s signing here.

Alex Hammerstone signs with TNA, will face Josh Alexander at Sacrifice

Former MLW World Heavyweight Champion Alex Hammerstone has signed with TNA Wrestling.

TNA announced during Thursday’s Impact episode that Hammerstone has signed with the company and will face Josh Alexander at Sacrifice on Friday, March 8 in a Hard to Kill rematch.

Hammerstone announced last October that he had requested his release from MLW, but later returned to the promotion in November. He later revealed that his contract with the company expired at the end of 2023 and that he planned to hit free agency as 2024 began, posting a video on social media on January 1 issuing an open challenge.

TNA’s Josh Alexander accepted the open challenge and the two met at Hard to Kill in January, with Alexander scoring a victory in the first meeting. A rematch between the two has now been announced for the TNA Plus Sacrifice special on Friday, March 8.

Aside from his one TNA match this year, Hammerstone has also wrestled for GCW and a variety of independent promotions as a free agent.

There is no word from TNA as to whether Hammerstone’s deal makes him exclusive to the company.

Five matches are currently set for Sacrifice. The current lineup:
