Two new champions crowned at TNA Rebellion

While many champions successfully defended their titles, TNA Rebellion also crowned two new champions.

At TNA Rebellion, Mustafa Ali challenged Trey Miguel for the International Championship. After a close fight with several covers, Ali snatched the victory and won the title after Tasha Steelz distracted the referee, which allowed Jason Hotch & John Skyler to hit Miguel. Ali followed it up with a 450 splash to secure the pinfall and earn his new championship.

After a solid almost 13-minute bout, Ali defeated Miguel and became the new TNA International Champion.

Shortly after Ali’s win, The System (Bear Bronson and Brian Myers) defeated The Hardys (Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy) to win the TNA World Tag Team Championship. The win marked an end for Jeff and Matt Hardy’s 265-day title reign.

While Bronson and Myers representing The System won titles, both Cedric Alexander and Eddie Edwards lost their respective X-Division and TNA World Champion matches.

While the win marked Myers fourth tag-team title win, this is Bronson’s first-ever championship win in TNA.

TNA faction adds new members, kicks out others

The final moments of Thursday, January 22nd, 2026, episode of TNA Impact witnessed a brand new change for The System.

Last week, JDC retired from in-ring competition at TNA Genesis against Eddie Edwards in a losing contest. During this Thursday’s episode, JDC announced Bear Bronson as his replacement in The System. However, things soon took a turn.

Bronson, Brian Myers, and Edwards joined forces to take down Moose and JDC as a stunned Alisha Edwards stood in the corner. The new trio of The System continued their attack on JDC and Moose as they kicked out the two veteran wrestlers.

However, fans then saw the arrival of Cedric Alexander with a steel chair. As the crowd expected him to side with Moose, he instead turned heel and dropped the former World Champion with a chair shot. Edwards later confirmed that Moose was now out of The System.

With JDC and Moose now former System members, the current faction includes Eddie and Alisha Edwards, Myers, Bronson, and Alexander, with the final two being new additions.

Tonight’s TNA Impact will feature a gauntlet match to determine the next Knockouts title challenger.

Reigning champion Jacy Jayne will be on tonight’s show to address her title defense at Sunday’s NXT Heatwave against both Ash by Elegance and Masha Slamovich in a three-way.

TNA World Champion Trick Williams will kick off the show, likely addressing Mike Santana costing him a shot at NXT Champion Oba Femi.

In trios action, The System’s Moose and Eddie Edwards will team with Matt Cardona against Order 4’s Mustafa Ali, Jason Hotch and John Skyler.

Jake Something vs. Frankie Kazarian will round the show.

**********

Taped in Baltimore, Maryland.

Tom Hannifan & Matthew Rehwoldt were on commentary.

Highlights from Emergence started the show.

Trick Williams Promo. Trick came out to a huge babyface reaction, so he insulted crab cakes and praised the Philadelphia Eagles (crowd of Ravens fans, or maybe Commanders fans, if they had fans
). Williams explained why he wears his “title” upside down – because he’s turned TNA upside down. Williams again alluded to a TV deal he’s gotten for the company.

Mike Santana came out to retort. He got the crowd to boo Trick, and tried to give credit for the Slammiversary gate at the UBS arena to the TNA side of the main event, not Trick. Whether it’s here or in NXT, Santana will become the new TNA World Champion. Williams refused to give Santana a title shot, which brought out Santino Marella. Marella was ready to make Santana v. Williams for the TNA World Title tonight. But Williams’ lawyers have done “the paperwork,” and Williams doesn’t have to defend the TNA Title again for 50 days. Williams alluded to embarrassing Santana in front of his family again, so Santana chased Williams off.

50 days from today is Friday, October 10th. Two days before Bound for Glory.

– Gia Miller interviewed Mustafa Ali, who does not trust the System.

– In the back, Santino Marella ran into Trick Williams and AJ Francis. Marella made a tag team match for next week with Williams & Francis against Mike Santana and a partner to be named later.

– A recap of NXT Tuesday, where Je’von Evans became the #1 contender for the NXT title by beating the TNA World Champion Trick Williams. And NXT’s Fatal Influence beat TNA’s Elegance Bland.

Jody Threat won a gauntlet match to become the #1 Contender for the Knockouts World Title. The match also featured Xia Brookside, Killer Kelly, Dani Luna, Rosemary, and Indi Hartwell.

This was guantlet rules, which means the first two Knockouts start, and after the decision, the winner advances to the next fall and the loser is eliminated. The matches are contested under standard wrestling rules, which becomes an important point later.

First Fall: (1) Xia Brookside defeated (2) Killer Kelly (5:51)

Kelly drove Brookside to the mat with a face-first suplex. Brookside got a near fall with an elbow drop. Kelly locked Brookside in a cravat and drove some knees into her head, then got a near fall with a sliding lariat. Brookside fought her way back with forearms and a stunner. They fought up to the top rope, and Brookside yanked Kelly down to the mat and pinned her with a cradle and bridge.

Second Fall: (3) Dani Luna defeated Xia Brookside (4:07)

Both these ladies are from the UK and babyfaces, so this should be a more scientific match. Brookside controlled Luna’s arm with a wristlock. Luna tried to roll out of the wrist lock and cradle Brookside, but Brookside kicked out and maintained wrist control. Luna finally escaped with a slam. Northern Lights suplex and sliding lariat got Luna a near fall. Luna with a snap suplex for a near fall. Brookside caught Luna with a tijeras, but missed a running knee in the corner. Luna hit the Luna Landing to advance.

Third Fall: Dani Luna defeated (4) Rosemary (3:40) to advance.

Rosemary hit Luna with a spear and she went to the floor. They brawled on the floor for a bit.  Back in the ring, Rosemary bit Luna’s hand. Luna missed a sliding lariat, and Rosemary hit a sliding forearm for a near fall. Luna went for the Luna Landing, but Rosemary raked her face to escape. Luna got the Luna Landing on the second try and got the pinfall.

Fourth Fall: (5) Indi Hartwell defeated Dani Luna (3:04) to advance

Rosemary jumped Hartwell, who is undefeated in TNA, before she got to the ring. The ref broke that up pretty quickly so the match could get underway. Hartwell’s strongest move in the opening few minutes was a hard whip into the corner. Hartwell dropped Luna with a side slam for a near fall, then wore her down with a surfboard. Luna escaped and hit a short arm clothesline. Hartwell hit a spinebuster for two. Hatwell went for the Hurts Donut, Luna reversed into a cradle, but Hartwell reversed the reversal and got the pinfall.

After the pinfall, Hartwell helped Luna to her feet, and Luna pounced. Luna attacked Hartwell and left her laying.

Fifth & Final Fall: (6) Jody Threat defeated (5) Indi Hartwell  by disqualification (0:44)

Threat is the last competitor. Hartwell indicated she could continue and the bell rang. Luna tried to run-in with the chair, but Threat stopped her
so Luna hit Threat with the chair. Since standard match rules apply, Hartwell was disqualified. And Threat, who did not even make contact in the match, is now the #1 Contender for the TNA Knockouts World Title. Also, Hartwell’s undefeated streak ended in a disqualification while she was barely conscious. With commercials, this guantlet was 40+ minutes of the show.

– The IInspiration were challenged by Fatal Influence. But The IInspiration still want the Knockouts Tag Team Titles from the Elegance Brand.

– Jody Threat tried to give her title shot back to Santino Marella, who called the finish of the guantlet match “very confusing.” Yeah, no kidding. Also, wow, way to make the last 40 minutes feel more wortheless if there’s still no #1 contender. At least Threat could have said she wanted to face Hartwell in a match to settle who was the #1 contender.

– Ryan Nemeth announced his big brother would be back in two weeks.

Frankie Kazarian defeated Jake Something (5:43)

Something blindsided Kazarian with a lariat on the floor, and dropped Kazarian on the ring apron, which is the hardest part of the ring. Something press-slammed Kazarian into a powerslam for two. Kazarian came back with a backstabber, sliding lariat and springboard legdrop for two. Something went for a powerbomb, but Kazarian escaped. Kazarian countered a side slam attempt by going for the chickenwing, but Something escaped. Something muscled Kazarian up into a sit-down powerbomb for two. Kazarian pulled one of the turnbuckles pads off and sent Something headfirst into the exposed buckle. Kazarian hit the Fade to Black (Dead Eye) and got the pinfall.

The crowd was more into Jake in this match than at Emergence, so that’s
 something.

– The Hardys ran into Mara SadĂ© painting in the back.

– Cedric Alexander got himself and Leon Slater a tag match with the Hardys. At first Slater was excited about tagging with Alexander, but seemed to have mixed feelings about facing the Hardys. I believe that match is for next week.

– Steve Maclin volunteered to team with Mike Santana while Santino Marella was on the phone with his lawyers trying to figure out what’s going on with Trick Williams’ paperwork.

Jayce Jane in-ring promo. Jane ran down the Knockouts roster. She said Marella was so desperate to get the TNA Knockouts Title back, he’s sending two women after her. The crowd got to Jane with “What!” chants. Ash by Elegance came out to call Jane an “attention whore,” and give a WWE style rĂšsumĂš promo. She’s a former 15-time champion in WWE! Ash also insulted Masha Slammovich out as this segment went off the rails. Slammovich came out and said she’d bring the Knockouts title back to TNA. The TNA women jawed at each other while Jane held up both her title belts and danced like Mercedes MonĂ©.

– Tasha Steelz, John Skyler & Jason Hotch do not appreciate Mara Sadé’s artwork, which lead to SadĂ© challenging Steelz.

Mustafa Ali, John Skyler & Jason Hotch (w/ Tasha Steelz & Order 4 Secret Service) defeated Matt Cardona, Brian Myers & Moose (w/ Alicia Edwards) (10:12 aired)

In a funny bit, Ali shouts “Ta-Fa!” after the crowd chants “Moose!”

Cardona and Myers hit Sykler with a flatliner/sweep combo for a near fall. Cardona got a near fall on Hotch after a middle rope dropkick. Myers backdropped Ali over the top rope, Cardona sent Skyler to the floor with a boot, and Moose powerbombed Hotch and Ali on the floor. No surprise here but the hometown crowd was really into Moose.

Back in the ring, Cardona worked over Skyler’s arm. Ali caught Cardona with a knee from behind, and that allowed Order 4 to take control. Ali and Hotch hit stereo hangman’s neckbreakers on Cardona, and Ali tried Chris Jericho’s Arrogant Cover for a near fall. Hotch cut off Cardona tagging Moose and caught him with another hangman’s neckbreaker.

Cardona drove Skyler down with a facebuster and got the tag to Moose. Moose threw Ali onto the middle turnbuckle, then dropkicked him while he was seated on the turnbuckle to the floor. Moose hit a sitout hanging tree slam on Ali for a near fall. Ali countered a powerbomb and caught Moose in the leg. Moose gave Hotch a pop-up powerbomb, and Myers flew in with an elbowdrop for a near fall.

Cardona sent Skyler to the floor, and Cardona followed him out with a dropkick. Ali caught Cardona with a dive to the floor, then Moose floored Ali him with a clothesline. Steelz stepped in the way of a charging Moose, which gave the Order 4 team the opening to triple superkick Moose. They then sent Moose into the stairs. When Alicia Edwards went to check on Moose,  Steelz threw Edwards into the stairs. Eddie Edwards came down to check on his wife, and Agent Zero caught him with a big boot.

Back in the ring, Ali low-blowed Myers. Hotch and Skyler hit The Great Hands on Myers and got the pinfall.

After the match, Ali used a chair to beat on Cardona and Myers. The Secret Service got ahold of Moose, and it looked like ALi was going to kill Moose with the chair, but JDC ran in for the save. JDC hit a crazy dive onto everyone on the floor. He got Ali in the ring with the chair, but Agent Zero cut JDC off. Agent Zero hit JDC with a headbutt and drove him onto the chair with a hanging tree slam. Ali and the Order 4 stood tall to end the night.

Nothing says your promotion is being taken over by WWE than leaving the hometown babyface beat down two shows in a row.

But, from presence to ring work to working the crowd, by any measure Ali was miles ahead of everyone else in the main event.

TNA Impact live results: The fallout from Under Siege

By John O’Connor

Following Under Siege, every member of The System holds championship gold and the group will celebrate that accomplishment on TNA Impact tonight.

While neither TNA World Champion Moose or Tag Team Champions Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers defended their titles Friday, team member Alisha Edwards & non-member Masha Slamovich won the Knockouts Tag Team titles.

ABC (Chris Bey & Ace Austin) will face Speedball Mountain (Mike Bailey & Trent Seven) in a first-time-ever match where the winning team will square off for an X-Division title match..

In another tag team bout, First Class (Rich Swann & AJ Francis) will battle The FBI’s Ray Jaz & Zack Clayton with Little Guido in their corner.

After debuting his new look at Under Siege, the masked Jonathan Gresham will return on tonight’s show in an attempt to go 2-0.

Our live coverage begins at 8:30 PM Eastern when the YouTube Ultimate Insiders feed begins.

**********

The show started with a recap of Under Siege highlighting Alisha Edwards winning the Knockouts Tag Titles with Masha Slamovich, Mustafa Ali retaining the X Division Title over Ace Austin and The System defeating House Hardy in the main event leading into the opening video.

The Albany Fire Cheerleaders adorned the stage as the ring announcer introduced The System as they headed to the ring for their championship celebration. Bryan Myers spoke first and told fans to feast their eyes on the greatest faction in TNA history because at ‘Under Siege’ every member of The System left as a champion. Moose took the mic and said that he has played on a lot of great teams, but The System is the greatest team.

Eddie Edwards next said that they already walked into ‘Under Siege’ as champions but his ride or die Alisha won gold and Alisha may be the greatest Knockouts Tag Champion of all time.

Alisha thanked Eddie and pointed to the video screen where she had a video to show. The video showing highlights of The System’s success played for a few seconds before it was interrupted by the music of ‘Broken’ Matt Hardy who made his way to the ring.

Matt had a microphone and said he understood The System and knows what he must do to render Moose obsolete. Alisha interrupted and Matt called her a snow witch and implied that Rebecca Hardy may show up. Moose said there is 4 of them and only one of Matt. Matt responded by swinging a steel chair that he brought with him. Alisha hit Hardy with kendra the kendo stick which allowed The System to take control.

The System wrapped a chair around the neck of Matt looking to injure him like they did Nic Nemeth a couple of weeks ago. Ryan Nemeth made the save as The System bailed and the cheerleaders did the delete gesture to end the segment.

Next up, a recap of the X Division Title match at ‘Under Siege’ between Mustafa Ali and Ace Austin.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviewed ABC who said that ABC will face Speedball Mountain tonight with the winning team facing each other for a future X Division Title shot. Ace Austin said that he would already have been champion if Chris Bey was at ringside at ‘Under Siege’ teasing further dissension between the two.

Santino Marella was backstage and was interrupted by The System who asked him to do his job. Marella said he is going to make a huge announcement and to stay tuned.

First Class (Rich Swann & AJ Francis) defeated The FBI (Ray Jaz & Zack Clayton) w/ Guido

Swann and Jaz started the match before Jaz tagged in Clayton. Swann in response tagged Francis and Francis choked Clayton over the ropes. Clayton looked for the hot tag to Jaz and was successful and Francis tagged in Swann. Jaz dropped Swann for a near fall but Francis made the save. Francis took care of Jaz with a chokeslam and Swann hit the frog splash for the victory. Nice showcase match for First Class.

Jake Something was backstage with Santino but was interrupted by The Rascalz. Marella said that if they wanted action then it will be The Rascalz against Jake Something and a partner of his choosing tonight. Cody Deaner showed up to offer his services to Something.

Kon and Steph Delander were on Alan Angels talk show set. The interview went downhill quickly with Angels implying that Kon and Delander were dating. Steph asked Kon if he was friends with Angels and Kon said no and he was out of there. Kon threw Angels to the side as Kon and Delander walked off.

The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz & Trey Miguel) defeated Jake Something & Cody Deaner

Before the match started, Deaner asked the fans if they wanted a regular tag match or an Albany Tornado Tag match. Deaner said the people have spoken and as per Santino Marella the Tornado match is official.

Something and Deaner were in control going into a picture-in-picture break. The Rascalz took control as Wentz dropped Something with a kick at ringside and zoned in on Deaner 2-on-1. Something threw Miguel to the outside as he attempted a comeback but The Rascalz cut him off and turned their attention back to Deaner.

Miguel gained a near fall as Something made his way back into the ring. Something dropped Wentz with a clothesline and splashed Miguel. Wentz attempted a dive on Something but was caught and thrown at Miguel.

Something hit a powerbomb and Deaner a neckbreaker on Miguel. Deaner went for a cover as Wentz also covered Something for a double pin scenario but both men kicked out.

Something followed Miguel to ringside but Miguel used spray paint to blind Something as Wentz with an assistance from Miguel pinned Deaner with the double stomp.

Post match, Steve Maclin took out The Rascalz. Backstage Maclin and Kazarian bickered as Kazarian said the issues between them and Josh Alexander and Eric Young were not over. Maclin begged to differ.

Tom Hannifan interviewed Mike Santana who said his return to TNA was a long time coming and he calls TNA home. Hannifan said that many fans know Santana as a member of LAX. Santana said that was his first experience on television. Hannifan asked Santana what he has happened to him since leaving TNA (then IMPACT) in 2019, Santana said that he lost his father during his time away from the company and the pandemic happened, so a lot of issues came to the surface. Hannifan said that it was public knowledge that Santana made the decision to go sober. Santana said that he had to save his life. To be continued.

Gabby LaSpisa, host of ‘Gabby AF’ was in the ring and said that she had scored an interview with Ash By Elegance. Before she could introduce Ash, she was interrupted by the personal concierge who made the introduction himself.

Ash was helped into the ring and took a microphone. Gabby wanted to clarify the meaning of ‘Ash by Elegance’. Ash said that Elegance is a lifestyle brand. Gabby said she had not heard of that. Ash said the interview was the most classless that she has ever done. Gabby apologized and sent it to the video wall which showed Ash taking out Havok at ‘Under Siege’. Gabby also showed the footage of Xia Brookside defeating Ash a couple of weeks ago.

Xia Brookside was introduced and Xia put  forward the chance of a rematch for Ash’s stolen jewellery. Ash accepted for next week.

A video package played detailing Joe Hendry’s surge up the music charts over the last week.

Santino Marella announced a ‘Champions Challenge’ for next week. The champions side consists of Moose, Eddie Edwards, Bryan Myers, Alisha Edwards, Masha Slamovich, Jordynne Grace, Mustafa Ali and Laredo Kid vs the All-Stars of Matt Hardy, Steph Delander, Sami Callihan, Eric Young, Ryan Nemeth, Spitfire and Joe Hendry.

Jonathan Gresham defeated Will Ferrara

Gresham dominated Ferrara as the match began. Gresham tied up the arms before applying the heel hook. Ferrara attempted a comeback but Gresham hit a dropkick to the knee. Ferrara elbowed out of a German Suplex attempt but Gresham took Ferrara down once more and drilled the knee into the canvas. Gresham began spitting up ink and applied the mandible claw on Ferrara for the victory. Nice continued character development for Gresham.

A video package detailed next week’s edition.

Mustafa Ali entered the arena to join the announce team.

Speedball Mountain (Mike Bailey & Trent Seven) defeated ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey)

Bailey and Bey started the match. Bailey rocked Bey with the standing dropkick and made the tag to Seven. Seven continued to work on Bey before tagging Bailey back in. Bey battled through and tagged in Austin who stomped on Bailey in the corner and gained a near fall.

Back in, Bey continued to wear down Bailey. Bailey fought through the pain and made the tag once more to Seven who hit a suplex and gained a close near fall. He looked to finish and placed Bey on the top turnbuckle. Seven hit the Superplex as Bailey looked for the shooting star but Bey moved out of the way.

Back from commercial, Austin continued to wear down Bailey and dropped him with a sidekick. Bey and Seven back in the ring traded chops with Seven gaining the upper hand after a side punch but Bey would rally and wear down Seven as ABC looked for a double team.

All four men traded shots in the ring, and ABC went for ‘Too Sweet’ but Seven and Bailey hit superkicks and Seven hit the seven star lariat on Austin for the two count as Bey made the save once more.

ABC looked to finish but were cut off by stereo dives to the outside from Bailey and Seven. Bailey hit the tornado kick on Bey and went to the top but was pushed off to the floor by Austin who followed up with the Fosbury flop to the outside.

Ali applauded at the announce desk which distracted Austin. Bey went to finish in the ring but was cut off and sent from the ring. Austin back in the ring was hit with the burning hammer from Seven and ultima weapon from Bailey for the win.

Severn and Bailey will now face each other one on one for a future X-Division Title shot.

This was a fantastic TV main event and a strong edition of Impact. In the post-Scott D’Amore environment, TNA continues to show promise for future shows and stories.

TNA Impact live results: Rebellion go-home show

In what could be their final match in the promotion, The Motor City Machine Guns will challenge The System for the TNA Tag Team titles on tonight’s edition of Impact: the final one before Saturday’s Rebellion pay-per-view.

Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin will be looking for their fourth reign as champions while Brian Myers & Eddie Edwards are trying for their first defense. The Machine Guns became free agents after this set of TV tapings with their future still unknown.

The champions after tonight will defend against Speedball Mountain (Mike Bailey & Trent Seven) on Saturday.

Nic Nemeth will be on hand to give some thoughts ahead of his challenge of TNA World Champion Moose Saturday.

Ahead of his Last Man Standing trilogy match with Josh Alexander Saturday, Hammerstone will face Guido of The FBI.

In a preview of Saturday’s Knockouts Tag Team title match, Spitfire’s Jody Threat will face Decay’s Rosemary.

**********

The Hammerstone-Alexander brawl leading to Dreamer getting beaten down gets recapped alongside the Jordynne Grace-Steph De Lander contract signing and ensuing beatdown of Grace by SDL. Josh Alexander walked out to do commentary for Guido vs. Hammerstone.

Hammerstone defeated Little Guido

Guido is a perfect opponent for Hammerstone because he’s a naturally lanky guy and he makes Hammerstone look even more gigantic. Hammerstone started off with a shove into the corner before a corner-to-corner shoulder charge and a Biel throw out of the corner. Hammerstone landed a corner lariat, but ate a chop before landing a big backbreaker and a squatting fallaway slam.

Zack Clayton shoves Hammerstone out and the ref rightfully kicks Clayton out. Hammerstone came in, but ate hammerfists and a basement dropkick for 2. Hammerstone put the headgear onto Guide and the torture rack ended it. Ash By Elegance’s concierge told us all that she will at ringside at Rebellion to face the winner of the Knockouts Title match. Xia Brookside hopped into frame to let her know that they’ll have a match next week – presumably for the top contender spot.

SDL’s beating of Grace last week is shown in more detail before we see Jordynne Grace at the airport saying that Cardona won’t be at Rebellion because of his surgery and that should make it a fair fight – but she knows she’ll have something up her sleeve. LSG struts out looking like a star in this match with Joe Hendry where he doesn’t even get announced beforehand – which is smart. He gave off a smug aura, which is a lot better than nothing when you’re in an enhancement match. Hendry got a giant “we believe!” chant before cutting a promo on AJ Francis and Swann flying high with what he buys at the Top Dolla store.

Joe Hendry defeated LSG

LSG wanted an armbar, but Hendry rolled around the ring ala Austin Street to avoid it. Hendry turned a fallaway slam into a gorilla press slam before landing a gigantic Standing Ovation uranage. Both men looked great here. Shockingly, Hendry wasn’t beaten down after this match by the heels he’s feuding with. Time Machine’s issues dating back to the No Surrender match are recapped to set up the MCMG’s match tonight with The System for the tag titles. Ali is out and feels like the biggest act in the company presentation-wise. Deaner wants Rhino to be their partner and Rehwoldt said he didn’t know who this “Rhi-guy” is but he clearly hears no on this chant – okay that was fantastic.

Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson & James Drake) and Mustafa Ali defeated Jake Something, Cody Deaner & Rhino

Something slammed Gibson before Rhino tagged in to chop away before Deaner worked over the arm of Zack Gibson for a bit. Ali tagged in to mudhole stomp a weakened Deaner before Drake tagged into wear down Deaner before tagging in Ali once again. Rehwoldt demanded the formation of an appellate court so Ali can file a formal complaint about having to face Something at Rebellion. Drake prevented a tag to Rhino before Gibson came in to further take Deaner down a peg. But he got the tag anyway and Rhino ran wild!

Corner gore to Gibson before a gore met a kick to the jaw, but he fell into a tag from Something! Something charged through the GYV’s attempt at a double clothesline and then again with one of his own. Rocket launcher crossbody of Deaner got 2! Ali walked back into Something and almost ate a slam, but the GYV saved and dove into Something on the floor!

Deaner, a valiant babyface, wants a fight with all three men and they just dogpiled him in the corner. Gore to Drake and Deaner landed a knee to Gibson! Ali landed a corner high kick and a sunset bomb out of the corner before the 450 beats Deaner. As per TNA tradition, a post-match beating is teased but actually avoided as Ali just left. Steve Maclin talked about starting off the new era in TNA win its first win and no matter what the marquee says on a show, it’s always time for him to tag ’em and bag ’em.

Eric Young met with his World Class Maniac persona backstage to unleash his dark side. So now even Eric Young has a Demon version of himself and he’ll baptize Frankie Kazarian at Rebellion. Rosemary came down and Hannifan talked about the team of supernatural demons using their contractual rematch clause at Rebellion before Threat ran down.

Rosemary defeated Jody Threat

Rosemary got a reverse bearhug to start before eating a clothesline and a powerslam for 2. Rosemary got a single leg dropkick before biting Threat in the corner and locking on a hanging neck choke for a four count, breaking right before five. Rosemary got two off a German suplex and a Muta lock to Threat was ended by a rope break. Threat got a German and a clothesline for two before Rosemary landed a run-up forearm for two before a spear ended it.

Jonathan Gresham’s therapy session has him feel like he’s unheard and that’s why he wears a mask. Life is a costume party and he’s been vulnerable – but it will end soon enough. So Eric Young has the World Class Maniac persona and Gresham has The Octopus – everyone gets an alter-ego! The Guns came out before The System emerged with their titles and Edwards did bicep curls with his belt.

TNA Tag Team Champions The System (Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers) defeated The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) to retain

The Guns got a quick edge before an ad break. Edwards chopped away on Shelley before Sabin hit a dragon screw on the right leg and Shelley landed one on the left one back to back, giving Shelley an opening for a figure four leglock. Sabin locked one in on Myers before Edwards got to the rope. Alisha grabbed Shelley and he grabbed her before getting pie-faced by Eddie and then chopped hard.

Myers slowed things down with a chinlock before Shelley fired back briefly, but ate a back elbow. Edwards worked him over for a bit with a front chancery before Shelley escaped that – but Edwards knocked Sabin down before a tag could be made. Shelley got a hope spot off a corner flatliner before a combat roll into a tag and Sabin flew in with a dropkick!

Sabin hit a suicide dive through Shelley’s legs and tossed Edwards before setting Myers on top of Edwards for a double-team missile dropkick/flatliner for two. Sabin landed a helluva kick to Edwards before Myers blind tagged himself in. Backpack stunner from Edwards and the Myers elbow got 2.5! I like it – moves like that help them feel more like a cohesive team instead of a makeshift unit. Roster Cut is met with a crucifix and a Sabin cutter and vintage MCMG fast-break offense.

They were the first team on a national stage to really use the Dragon Gate style and in that time, they have become legends in TNA, with Shelley actually getting a World title run and Sabin being christened the great X Division champion of all time. Now, their story ended in TNA with a Roster Cut and a Boston Knee Party.

Nic Nemeth/Moose promo

Nic Nemeth came out and did the unwise move of running into the crowd resulting in him being impossible to see, but thankfully going back to the ring and being visible. He cut a nice promo about Vegas being special for him because it’s where he debuted in TNA before Moose interrupted. Moose insulted the fans and Nemeth said that the fans are behind him, management’s behind him and he’s here for TNA because that’s why he wore the TNA shirt in his debut.

Moose cut a boring promo about Nemeth being the problem not with a title win – but after. When he’s given the ball, he only runs a few yards and fumbles. There’s a lot missing from Moose’s presentation – on-paper, he’s got the suit, the belt, and the faction, but the passion doesn’t seem to be there. Moose wanting the title against Tessa and bringing in the fake TNA World Title to defend felt like a bigger deal than him being the actual TNA World Champion now. Nemeth tells Moose that he’s not facing Dolph Ziggler – he’s facing Nic Nemeth and the future of TNA. Nemeth should probably win the title at the PPV, but we’re only three months into Moose’s reign, so I can see them holding it off until Slammiversary.

Rebellion is this Saturday.

Big Vinny V Show: The build to TNA Rebellion

TNA Sacrifice has come and gone which means it’s time for a reset episode of Impact which I recap on this week’s Big Vinny V Show.

On that note, we had an excellent main event pitting Nic Nemeth & “Speedball” Mike Bailey & Trent Seven against Steve Maclin & The Rascalz — a great TV match that wrapped up two feuds and set up new challengers for TNA World Champion Moose and TNA Tag Team Champions The System.

The opener was also tremendous with Mustafa Ali defending the X-Division title against Chris Sabin who has suddenly found himself and his Time Machine teammates embroiled in drama.

All this and more in a very quick edition of the Big Vinny V Show!

Nic Nemeth to challenge Moose for World title at TNA Rebellion

After superkicking Moose as part of his first night in the company, Nic Nemeth will finally challenge the TNA Champion at April’s Rebellion pay-per-view.

Nemeth, the current IWGP Global Champion, will be looking for his first taste of TNA gold and his first World singles title since he held the WWE World Heavyweight title in 2013.

Moose is currently in his second TNA World title reign after winning the gold at January’s Hard to Kill — the same event where he was confronted by Nemeth. The leader of The System will be looking for his third title defense.

The two have never shared the ring together.

Moose’s System factionmates will also be in action as TNA Tag Team Champions Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers will defend against Speedball Mountain (Mike Bailey & Trent Seven).

TNA Sacrifice results & notes: New champions, technical issues

Both sets of Tag Team titles changed hands as part of Friday’s TNA Sacrifice — a show that had some streaming viewers frustrated by early technical issues.

The System’s Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers defeated ABC (Chris Bey & Ace Austin) to take home the men’s Tag Team titles following the heels hitting Austin with a Roster Cut/Boston Knee Party combo to pick up the win.

It’s the sixth-such title reign for Edwards and the second for Myers. The victory ends the 139-day second title run for Bey and Austin.

Later on the show, the Knockouts Tag Team titles found a new home with a relatively new team as Spitfire (Dani Luna & Jody Threat) defeated MK Ultra (Masha Slamovich & Killer Kelly).

After Kelly was rolled up by Threat for the surprise win, Slamovich shoved Kelly in frustration after the match.

It’s the first TNA title run for either Luna or Threat while the win ends the short second reign of MK Ultra that began just two weeks ago with their win over Decay (Havok & Rosemary).
