The show will air late on Friday night following NCAA men’s basketball tournament coverage on TNT.

Days after debuting on Dynamite in a staredown with TBS Champion Jade Cargill, Taya Valkyrie will make her promotional in-ring debut against Ava Lawless.

After the events of Wednesday’s Trios title match main event, the House of Black’s Brody King will take on Daniel Garcia of the Jericho Appreciation Society in their first-ever singles meeting.

Matt Menard & Angelo Parker of the JAS will take on the returning Bollywood Boyz as Parker & Menard look ahead to a future match with The Acclaimed. Both teams wrestled several times against each other in WWE NXT.

Taped in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, it’s St. Patrick’s Day Slam!

Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Paul Wight were on commentary.

Rampage airing 2 hours later than usual after Jungle Boy kinda buried the show on Dynmaite isn’t the best look.

Powerhouse Hobbs (w/QT Marshall & the “QTV Crew”) vs. Rey Fenix (w/ Alex Abrahantes) for the TNT Championship (about 14:00)

The “QTV crew” was Aaron Solo in a powder blue blazer, and the unidentified girl from the QTV segment on Wednesday was taking a video of the match with her cell phone. Fenix took to the air early and knocked Hobbs off his feet with a quebrada. Hobbs caught Fenix with an overcomplicated powerslam for a near fall. On the floor, Hobbs whipped Fenix into the ringside barricade. Back in the ring, Hobbs whipped Fenix into the turnbuckle and stepped on his throat. Hobbs hit a delayed vertical suplex for a near fall. Hobbs clamped on a nerve hold while the match went to break.

After the break, Fenix fought out of the nerve hold with kicks. Fenix tried to run the ropes, but Hobbs yanked him into a powerslam for a near fall. Fenix tried for a german suplex, but Hobbs elbowed out of it. Fenix hit the german suplex on the second attempt and got a near fall. Fenix hit a cutter for a near fall. Fenix walked across the top rope and hit a plack kick on Hobbs, but Hobbs came back and pounced Fenix into the corner. Hobbs hit the spinebuster for another near fall. Fenix hit a pair of hook kicks and both men were down.

Fenix recovered first and hit the frog splash for a near fall. Fenix hit three superkicks and tried for another rolling cutter, but Hobbs caught him with a spinebuster. Hobbs then hit the Town Business and got the pinfall.

After the match, QT Marshall gave Abrahantes the Diamond Cutter.

– Adam Cole cut a prmo about his return match on March 29th. His opponent is still unknown.

– Stu Grayson cut a promo from the hospital where Evil Uno was recovering from the concussion, suffered at the hands of Jon Moxley. Grayson is back in AEW and he challenged Jon Moxley for Dynamite Wednesday.

Taya Valkyrie defeated Ava Lawless (1:17)

Valkyrie won after an ugly spear and her version of the Jaded Slam. After the match, Jade Cargill and her entourage took notes on Valkyrie.

– A vignette of Matt Hardy & Ethan Page trained Stokley Hathaway for his match next week against Hook.

Matt Menard & Angelo Parker defeated The Bollywood Boyz (5:41 aired)

During the match, it’s announced that Powerhouse Hobbs will defend his TNT Title against Christopher Daniels at the house show in Troy, Ohio tomorrow night.

Practically the whole match took place during the split screen break. After the break, one of the Bollywood Boys got the hot tag, but was quickly finished off with a double-team implant DDT.

– Don Callis greeted Konosuke Takeshita with flowers and a Japanese drummer when he arrived at the Winnipeg airport.

– A 30 second video package hyped up Wednesday’s match between Kenny Omega and El Hilo Del Vikingo.

On Dynmiate Wednesday:

  • Jon Moxley v. Stu Grayson
  • Toni Storm v. Skye Blue
  • The Gunn Club v. Top Flight for the World Tag Titles
  • Hook v. Stokley Hathaway
  • Kenny Omega v. El Hilo Del Vikinko

Daniel Garcia (w/ Chris Jericho) defeated Brody King (w/ Julia Hart) (12:22)

Garcia kept running away from King, until Garcia caught King with a dropkick to the knee. King caught Garcia with an avalanche in the corner and a hard chop, and Garcia dropped to the floor to flirt with Julia Hart. She was unimpressed, and King whipped Garcia into the ringaside barricades. King set up on a chair and hit a crossbody. Garcia tripped up King and sent him headfirst into the ring stairs.

After a commercial break (during which Garcia dominated), King hit a black hole slam and a piledriver for a pair of near falls. King chopped Garica so hard in the corner that even Jericho was selling them. King hit a cannonball in the corner for a near fall. Garcia countered another piledriver attempt by clipping King’s leg, then went for a sleeper. King escaped and hit a discus lariat. Garcia escaped a gonzo bomb and Garica went for a Bost… er, Walls of Jericho to pop the crowd. Garcia forced a rope break. Jericho popped King with his bat behind the ref’s back, and Garcia locked in a Dragon Sleeper to get the KO victory.

Final Thoughts:

This show felt two hours long, and not in a good way.

Taya Valkyrie loses Impact Knockouts Tag Team titles

Impact Wrestling has new Knockouts Tag Team Champions as The Coven defeated the Death Dollz, ending the Dollz’ record-breaking title reign.

KiLynn King & Taylor Wilde defeated Taya Valkyrie & Rosemary Thursday when King hit her Kingdom Falls finisher on Valkyrie to get the win in a clean finish.

Valkyrie debuted on AEW Dynamite Wednesday and was announced as signing later that night, making Thursday’s result a given for those who hadn’t seen spoilers going into the show.

Valkyrie wasn’t written out of Impact on-screen which could come next week in a backstage segment.

The unit of Valkyrie, Rosemary & Jessicka held the gold for 142 days officially — the longest any all-female team held the titles and edging the Beautiful People by one day. Eric Young & ODB had the titles for 478 days in 2012-13.

Taya Valkyrie signs with AEW, appears on Dynamite

Taya Valkyrie has signed with All Elite Wrestling.

Wednesday’s show saw Jade Cargill defeat Nicole Matthews to retain the TBS Championship. After the match, Cargill intimidated Renee Paquette and asked if there was anyone else to face. Valkyrie then came out and confronted Cargill. After a staredown, Cargill proceeded to leave, but Leila Gray attempted to jump Valkyrie from behind. Valkyrie instead laid out Gray out with Jaded.

Soon after the segment aired, Tony Khan confirmed on social media that Valkyrie had signed with the company.

Valkyrie had recently been working for AAA, MLW, and Impact Wrestling. She had finished up with Impact Wrestling at their most recent tapings. Monday Update

Bryan and I will be back tonight covering Raw and all the news of the day, and there is a lot, with Wrestling Observer Radio. You can send questions for tonight’s show on current topics to [email protected]

For Raw tonight, Kevin Owens faces Solo Sikoa in a street fight and with Sami Zayn said to be not there and the Usos there, I think that may hint where this is going, Cody Rhodes faces LA Knight, Bianca Belair faces Chelsea Green in a non-title match, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson face Maximum Male Models, Johnny Gargano & Dexter Lumis face Dominik Mysterio & Damian Priest plus there are face-to-face confrontations scheduled with Brock Lesnar and Omos and Edge and Finn Balor. Sami Zayn is not at the show but the Usos and Solo Sikoa are scheduled and Rey Mysterio is in Providence, the latter reported by PWInsider. Tickets out for the show were more than 7,200 as of this morning. A legit sellout for a pro wrestling sellout in the building would be close to 9,000.

We are looking for reports from the show, anything dark or the Main Event matches to [email protected]

Dick Fosbury, who won the gold medal in the high jump at the 1968 Olympics with a unique style that led to Don West naming one of the new unique dives in wrestling as the Fosbury Flop (the name given to his high jump style) passed away yesterday.

TBS made it official today that Power Slap is not being renewed. We talked about it on last night’s show as it was pretty clear this was the case after all the criticism and the declining ratings. Dana White all but acknowledged it a few days ago when he said he had a deal with Rumble, the streaming service that did do good numbers Saturday night for the finals, but it had not been completed. The Rumble deal was for two years of a television series like the one on TBS, plus eight live events and White said he was looking at filming the second season in Abu Dhabi. He has also said that they are working on getting Power Slap legal and sanctioned in more states and said it was here to stay.

Yes, my Twitter account has been hacked so hopefully it will be up and running soon.

AEW will debut QTV, which is a segment with QT Marshall, on Wednesday night’s show from Winnipeg.

While it is not confirmed that Taya Valkyrie will be the opponent for Jade Cargill on Wednesday, Taya Valkyrie was scheduled on a tour of Australia that started Saturday and was not on the tour and they said it was due to a late schedule conflict, so if anything, that adds fuel to the speculation. Cargill said she would have an open challenge for the title against any Canadian and Valkyrie is Canadian. The only Canadian woman on the roster is The Bunny, who has been out with an injury of late. Taya is also confirmed as going with either WWE or AEW imminently. Konnan on his podcast also said Taya has something very big coming up.

While ROH has not announced dates for a second TV taping, they have no show for 3/30 (the night before the PPV taped) and Rush and Dralistico were both pulled from an AAA show in Saltillo on 3/25. They often announce the Disney tapings in Orlando very late in the game so they could be taping that weekend.

MLW on REELZ at 10 p.m. tomorrow night has EJ Nduka & Calvin Tankman vs. the Samoan Swat Team, a contract signing for Alexander Hammerstone vs. Jacob Fatu for the title and Mance Warner vs. Rickey Shane Page. The show is not officially canceled but everyone is acting like it is.

Anthony Mayweather of the NWA, who was also Crimson in TNA, was arrested for violation of an order of protection. Police claimed that he sent several text messages to his wife, Heather Mayweather, including while police were present and he was booked this past week. Mayweather had been arrested for allegedly head-butting her in 2016. He was taken into custody on Wednesday and released on bond later that day.

Bandido is advertised for both the La Mole comic convention and a GCW show on Friday in different place.

Taya Valkyrie likely going to AEW or WWE

Taya Valkyrie could soon be joining AEW or WWE.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Valkyrie is “likely” going to either AEW or WWE. Whichever promotion her next destination is, it’s supposed to be made clear within a short period of time.

Meltzer wrote that Valkyrie has finished up with Impact Wrestling and also isn’t committed to MLW for a long time:

Valkyrie finished up with Impact as she was working with both companies [Impact and MLW] and on occasion AAA, where she still holds their Reina de Reinas title. She is not committed [to MLW] for a long time either. She is likely going to AEW or WWE and whichever one is supposed to be made clear within a short period of time.

The Death Dollz (Valkyrie & Jessicka) are defending their Knockouts Tag Team titles against The Coven (Taylor Wilde & KiLynn King) on the episode of Impact Wrestling that airs next Thursday.

Valkyrie currently holds the MLW Women’s Featherweight Championship. She’s defending the title against Delmi Exo at MLW’s War Chamber tapings in New York City on Thursday, April 6.

Valkyrie formerly wrestled for WWE, going by the name Franky Monet in NXT. She signed with WWE in February 2021 but was released that November.

TBS Champion Jade Cargill has challenged a Canadian wrestler to step up to her when AEW comes to Winnipeg for Dynamite and Rampage next week. Valkyrie is from Canada.

It was announced today that Valkyrie will defend her Women’s Featherweight Championship against Zoey Skye at MLW Blood & Thunder. The show is taking place on Saturday, January 7.

Kamille replacing Thunder Rosa at AAA Triplemania: Mexico City

Due to injury, Thunder Rosa is officially off Triplemania XXX: Mexico City.

Rosa was scheduled to challenge Taya Valkyrie for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship at the Triplemania event. Lucha Libre AAA posted a video on Friday night setting up that Kamille will instead face Valkyrie for the title in Mexico City.

Kamille cut a promo saying she’s heard that Valkyrie is looking for someone new to face at Triplemania because “apparently your last opponent got hurt.” Kamille said she’s here to answer that call.

Kamille has been NWA World Women’s Champion for more than a year. She retained that title against Valkyrie at night one of NWA 74 this August.

On AEW Dynamite last month, Rosa announced that she wouldn’t be able to compete at All Out due to injury. Rosa still holds the AEW Women’s World Championship, but Toni Storm has been crowned interim champion while Rosa is out of action. Storm was supposed to challenge Rosa for the title at All Out. She instead defeated Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida, and Jamie Hayter in a four-way match at the pay-per-view to become interim champion.

Rosa told Busted Open Radio that she expects to be out of action for a couple of months due to the back injury. She also responded to people who have claimed she’s faking the injury.

“This is not fake, not a work. If I can f**king work, I can f**king work,” Rosa said.

“I’m sorry, guys. I want to walk when I’m 40, I want to have kids…I have the right to say, ‘No, I can’t walk, I can’t do it.’ I don’t want to have surgery (and be out longer).”

Triplemania: Mexico City is taking place on Saturday, October 15. It’s the last of three Triplemania PPVs this year celebrating the 30th edition of the event.

NWA notes: Empower returning ‘very soon,’ Women’s title match set for Hard Times

NWA Power had news both regarding the next challenger for the NWA Women’s Championship and news regarding the next NWA Empower.

Tuesday’s show had NWA owner Billy Corgan discuss the success of NWA 74, saying that he hopes to keep the NWA rolling so that they reach their 100th anniversary. He also brought up that Kamille had two of the best matches at NWA 74. He concluded the topic by saying that they will do another NWA Empower “very soon”.

Meanwhile, the NWA Women’s Championship match has been set for Hard Times, which will take place on November 12 in Chalmette, Louisiana. Taya Valkyrie earned a shot at Kamille’s championship after defeating Chelsea Green, KiLynn King, and Jennacide in a number one contender’s match. Kamille and Valkyrie previously met at NWA 74 last month, with Kamille successfully retaining the championship.

Kamille also wrestled on Tuesday’s NWA Power, going to a time limit draw with Allysin Kay.

Thunder Rosa to challenge for women’s title at AAA Triplemania: Mexico City

Thunder Rosa will be challenging for gold at Triplemania XXX: Mexico City.

At a press conference on Monday, Lucha Libre AAA announced that Rosa will challenge Taya Valkyrie for the Reina de Reinas Championship at Triplemania: Mexico City on Saturday, October 15. It’s the third of three Triplemania shows this year celebrating the 30th edition of the event.

Rosa’s AEW Women’s World Championship won’t be on the line in the match.

A promo from Rosa aired at the press conference. Rosa said she wants to bring the AAA Reina de Reinas title back to Mexican hands.

Luchablog notes that AAA explained the match as being “a Mexican who’s been successful outside of Mexico [Rosa] vs a foreigner who found their career by coming to Mexico [Valkyrie].”

Valkyrie has been Reina de Reinas Champion since winning the title from Deonna Purrazzo at Impact Wrestling’s Rebellion pay-per-view this April. This is Valkyrie’s fourth time holding the title.

It was also announced at Monday’s press conference that El Hijo del Vikingo will defend his AAA Mega Championship at Triplemania: Mexico City against an opponent who has yet to be determined. Lucha Libre AAA is asking fans to choose Vikingo’s challenger, with Kenny Omega, Rey Fenix, and Psycho Clown mentioned as possibilities.

Omega has been out of action since last November after taking time off to have several surgeries for nagging injuries. He’s hoping to return in time for AEW’s All Out PPV this September.

There will be another press conference for Triplemania: Mexico City next month. Here’s the full list of what’s been announced for the show thus far:

  • Mask vs. mask match (Ruleta de la Muerte finals): Pentagon Jr. vs. Villano IV
  • AAA Reina de Reinas Champion Taya Valkyrie defends against Thunder Rosa
  • AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo defends against TBD
  • Hair vs. hair match: Pagano vs. Cibernetico
  • Copa Bardahl Triplemania

AAA Triplemania XXX Tijuana notes: Ruleta de la Muerte, Bandido, Taya, Chik Tormenta

Triplemania XXX in Tijuana tonight had the semifinals of the Ruleta de la Muerte tournament, Chik Tormenta losing her mask, Bandido suffering an injury, and Fenix winning the Latin American and Cruiserweight titles.

Tonight’s show had Penta el 0 M and Villano IV lose their tournament matches, meaning they advance to the finals of the tournament where their masks will be on the line. That will take place at the final Triplemania event of the year in Mexico City on October 15. Blue Demon defeated Penta after a hammer shot to the head and hit a top rope destroyer through a table. Psycho Clown defeated Villano IV after an air raid clash through thumbtacks.

Fenix won the Latin American and Cruiserweight titles in a five-way match, defeating Latin American Champion Taurus, Laredo Kid, Bandido, and Hijo del Vikingo. Fenix pinned Taurus with a double foot stomp.

After the match, Bandido was stretchered out following a tower of doom spot where Bandido landed on his head. On Twitter, Bandido wrote on Instagram that his neck was not fractured but it was time for his body to rest.

Chik Tormenta lost her mask on tonight’s show, losing to Flammer in a singles match after the two were the last ones left in a cage match earlier in the show. Tormenta revealed herself as Cristina Azpeitia Ramirez of Guadalajara, Jalisco who has been wrestling for sixteen years.

Taya Valkyrie appeared on tonight’s show cutting a promo, eventually challenging AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa. On Twitter, Rosa accepted the challenge.
