Big Vinny V: A bloody spectacle Sabu would have been proud of

It’s Tuesday and it’s time for a new Big Vinny V Show recapping last Thursday’s TNA Impact, hosted by, yes, Vince Verhei.

The main event of last Thursday’s TNA Impact felt like a tribute to a fallen legend.

Yes, it aired a few days before Sabu passed away, but the Steve Maclin vs. Eric Young dog collar match was the bloody kind of spectacle he might have been proud of.

Elsewhere, Trick Williams continued to taunt Joe Hendry; tension continued to build between Rosemary and Xia Brookside; Fir$t Cla$$ tried to recruit Sami Callihan with predictable results; Maggie Lee got a makeover; The Great Hands once again look, well, great; Mustafa Ali and Trey Miguel stole the show; Indi Hartwell shines (really!) in a video package; Jeff Hardy’s past legal troubles rear their ugly head; and Victoria Crawford made her TNA debut, leading to the worst of all pro wrestling storylines: dueling authority figures.

Oh, and there’s a shoot goblin too. All this and more on the Big Vinny V Show!

TNA Unbreakable notes: New International Champion, Alicia Fox, Scrypts

News and notes from Thursday night’s TNA Unbreakable special on TNA Plus.

Inaugural TNA International Champion crowned —

Steve Maclin won a three-way to become the first-ever TNA International Champion in the Unbreakable main event.

Maclin defeated Eric Young, and AJ Francis in the three-way to be recognized as the inaugural International Champion. The International title replaces the Digital Media Championship vacated last month. Steph De Lander claimed the Digital Media title and was briefly recognized as Champion following PCO’s departure in January, but never defended the title.

Young and Maclin both won three-way qualifiers earlier in the Unbreakable card, while Francis won his way in to the title match weeks ago on Impact.

Alicia Fox —

Victoria Crawford, formerly known as Alicia Fox in WWE, made her TNA debut in an angle at Unbreakable. After being shown in the audience, Crawford distracted Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich during the mixed tag bout on the show, allowing Tessa Blanchard to hit Slamovich from behind.

Chris Bey —

Chris Bey made a special appearance at Unbreakable. The 29-year-old Bey suffered a broken neck in a TNA match last October, with the company holding a fundraising event for him earlier Thursday, plus auctioning off event-worn gear from tonight’s show on their eBay page.

Scrypts —

Sidney Akeem, formerly known as Scrypts in NXT and Reggie in WWE, made his promotional debut as the surprise opponent for Moose in the X-Division Champion’s open challenge at Unbreakable.

The Hardys —

Matt and Jeff Hardy gave Nic and Ryan Nemeth an invitation to The Hardy Compound at Unbreakable. The Hardys are set to defend their TNA Tag Team titles against The Nemeths at the Rebellion pay-per-view on April 27.

Matt Boone’s full report from Unbreakable is here.

TNA Impact live results: International title tournament begins

After last week’s announcement that the Digital Media title would become the new International title, the tournament to crown a new champion begins on tonight’s TNA Impact.

In the first bout, Mance Warner faces AJ Francis and Sami Callihan in a three-way with the winner advancing to next Thursday’s Unbreakable streaming special.

Former World Champions will clash at Steve Maclin battles Eddie Edwards while the high-flying Leon Slater will face Ryan Nemeth.

Former Tag Team Champions The Rascalz will take on The System’s Brian Myers & JDC in a key divisional match.

Reigning X-Division Champion Moose will face Cody Deaner in a non-title match as former X-Division Champion Mustafa Ali takes on former X-Division and Tag Team Champion Ace Austin.

**********
The usual video package recapping the previous week’s show airs to get things started. The show then settles inside the Impact Zone in St. Joseph, MO., where Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt welcome the viewing audience at home.

Ethan Page, Frankie Kazarian & Santino Marella Kick Things Off

“Well, well, well …look who’s back, baby!” He says he’s back in TNA Wrestling, the company where he truly found out who he was. It’s where he found his ego. It’s where he became “All Ego” Ethan Page.

He cut his teeth here and he’s pretty sure he still holds the record for longest reigning tag-team champion in company history. He’s not here to talk about the past. He wants to focus on the future.

He mentions TNA Rebellion 2025, where he will take on Frankie Kazarian and TNA World Champion Joe Hendry, with the title on-the-line. In Los Angeles, at TNA Rebellion 2025, it will be Ethan Page who finally becomes TNA World Champion.

Fans boo. Page responds, “Boo? BOO?!” He asks if the crowd thinks he can’t beat Joe Hendry. They yell back, “No!” He says he already knows what he needs to about Hendry.

He’s got a catchy song, he’s always wearing a tight shirt, he’s got a Slim Shady haircut. He says he will win the TNA World Championship and bring it back with him to WWE NXT.

Frankie Kazarian’s theme hits and out he comes with his Call Your Shot gauntlet trophy. Kazarian and Page exchange insults until TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella cuts them off.

The TNA shot-caller comes out and tells Kazarian and Page that Joe Hendry will be out here later tonight and he will be talking about something that will affect the both of them.

Gia Miller Interviews Steve Maclin, Eric Young Interrupts

After the opening segment wraps up, the show settles backstage where Gia Miller is standing by with Steve Maclin. He talks about his three-way match in the TNA International Championship tournament tonight.

He says he knows The System will be lurking, but he doesn’t need The Armory or anyone watching his back. Just as he says that, Eric Young and The Northern Armory interrupt him.

Young tells Maclin he knows The System will get involved and it will be bad. He says whether Maclin wants it or not, they will be watching and will have his back.

Maclin tells him he’s gonna tell them one last time, he doesn’t want their help. He warns them to stay out of his business and walks off. The show heads into a commercial break.

Ace Austin vs. Mustafa Ali (w/ The Great Hands & Tasha Steelz)

The show returns inside the Impact Zone to the familiar sounds of Mustafa Ali’s theme music. Out he comes along with The Great Hands and Tasha Steelz.

He settles inside the ring for the first match of the evening. Next, the entrance tune for his opponent, Ace Austin, plays to bring out the ABC member. He takes to the ring and the bell sounds.

Ali immediately charges across the ring and hits a wild kick that flattens Austin, thanks to an assist in the form of a distraction by The Great Hands at ringside.

After being on the defensive end for the first couple of minutes, Austin fires back up on offense. He hits a click-click-boom dropkick. Austin drives Ali face-first into the canvas for a two-count.

Once again The Great Hands provide a distraction at ringside. Ali rolls up Austin, but Austin kicks out and sends Ali out to the floor. Ali is caught by The Great Hands. Austin runs and dives and takes out all three.

Steelz and Austin go face-to-face. John Skyler tries to attack Austin from behind, but Austin moves and decks him. Jason Hotch tries next, but Austin avoids him as well. Ali lays out Austin with a steel chair.

The referee saw Ali’s chair shot and immediately calls for the bell. The Great Hands hit their double-team finisher — The Favor. Ali gives orders to Skyler and Hotch. They hold his arms on the floor while his chin is laying on the bottom turnbuckle.

Steelz hands Ali a steel chair. He takes a step back and gets ready to wind up with the chair, when he slowly starts to realize Mike Santana, without music or any crowd reaction, has emerged at ringside.

Ali tries to turn in mid-motion and sneak in a chair shot at Santana as he approached the ring apron, but Santana avoided it. Ali high-tails it out of there with The Great Hands and Steelz. Santana’s theme hits and he poses on the ropes. The show heads to another commercial break.

When the show returns, Ali, Skyler, Hotch and Steelz are scurrying through the backstage area, trying to get out of there. They make it to the parking lot and reach their car. They quickly get in and tell their driver to hit it. The driver turns to reveal he is actually Santana. “Where we going?!” He says, before beginning his attack.

Match Result: Ace Austin defeated Mustafa Ali

TNA X-Division Champion Moose vs. Cody Deaner

Back inside the Impact Zone, the catchy-tune for Moose hits the house speakers, and out comes the TNA X-Division Champion, accompanied by the other members of The System. He settles in the ring for the next match of the evening.

Moose’s music dies down and the entrance music for his opponent hits. Out comes Cody Deaner. He begins cutting a promo as he enters the ring, only to be cut off by JDC. JDC taunts him, asking when he’s won a match in TNA.

JDC offers Deaner a spot in The System. Not as a member, but as the custodian or janitor of the group. He says he can carry their bags and clean up after them. He tells Deaner he doesn’t have many options. “You need to trust in The System, okay?”

Deaner says maybe he should think about his kids. He says it’s not up to him, however, but rather the fans. He asks the fans if he should be The System’s lackey. He decides against it and claims he can beat Moose for the TNA X-Division Championship.

Moose asks Deaner what makes him think he deserves a TNA X-Division Championship shot? He says he’s a nice guy and in a giving mood. He tells Deaner if he can last two minutes in the ring with him right now, he will give him a TNA X-Division Championship match.

Deaner asks the fans if they think he can last two minutes. “Do you think I can last two minutes?!” he says in excited fashion. Out of context that just sounds horrible. The people have spoken, and the two-minute challenge is underway.

The bell sounds and a two-minute clock appears on the screen. Moose immediately batters Deaner down to the mat. He hoists him up and hits a Last Ride-style powerbomb with authority. Moose then starts to taunt him and take his time, playing with his food.

He hoists Deaner up and hits another massive powerbomb. He covers him but pulls Deaner off the canvas at the count of two. Moose goes for a spear, but Deaner rolls out to the floor. Moose chases after him. Deaner rolls in the ring. Moose does as well.

Deaner rolls right back out. Deaner continues to try and avoid Moose to eat away at the clock. The fans count down from ten and the bell sounds. Deaner survived two minutes, and thus, this match continues and is now for the TNA X-Division Championship. Seconds later, Moose spears Deaner and pins him.

Match Result: Moose defeated Cody Deaner

The System (JDC & Brian Myers) vs. The Rascalz (Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz)

After the match, The System gang up and look to deliver a post-match beatdown to Deaner. Before they can, however, The Rascalz’ duo of Zachary Wentz and Trey Miguel hit the ring with bats to make the save.

The show heads to another commercial, with The Rascalz vs. JDC and Brian Myers in tag-team action when the show returns.

As the show returns, all four men are in the ring and ready to roll. The bell sounds to get things started, and now it’s JDC and Myers’ turns to prove themselves to Eddie Edwards, like each member of The System must do tonight. Moose did in the previous bout.

We see some good fast-paced action in the opening moments, and then JDC and Myers start to settle into the offensive lead. After they enjoy a few minutes in control, Wentz and Miguel begin to fight from underneath back into competitive form.

Wentz and Miguel start to pick up the pace and get the crowd involved in the process. Just as it looked like they were rounding third on their way home, The System pull some cheap heel tactics.

We see an illegal assist during a pin that secured them the three-count. They quickly roll out to the floor and retreat as the show heads into another commercial break.

Match Result: JDC & Brian Myers defeated The Rascalz

AJ Francis (w/ KC Navarro) vs. Mance Warner (w/ Steph De Lander) & Sami Callihan in a TNA International Championship Tournament match

When the show returns, the ring entrances begin for the next match of the evening, which is the opening bout of the tournament to crown the inaugural TNA International Champion.

First Class’ AJ Francis comes out accompanied by KC Navarro. Out next is Mance Warner, who comes to the ring with his new fiancée’, Steph De Lander. Finally, Sami Callihan makes his way out.

The bell sounds to get things officially off-and-running. Almost immediately it is clear the three will be leaning on the rule of anything goes in a three-way match. Navarro gets involved, providing an assist that helps Francis settle into the early lead.

As the action continues, De Lander begins playing a big role at ringside in favor of Warner. Callihan cuts off Warner’s momentum. He grabs a flyer and uses it to give Warner a paper cut in between his fingers.

A chair dual between Callihan and Warner leaves them both worse for wears, allowing Francis to finish things off with the TFL for the pinfall victory.

With the win, Francis advances in the TNA International Championship Tournament. The tourney will wrap up at TNA Unbreakable 2025 next Thursday. After the match wraps up, the show heads into another commercial break.

Match Result: AJ Francis defeated Mance Warner & Sami Callihan

Barbed Wire Massacre Announced For TNA Unbreakable

When the show returns, Sami Callihan is in his dressing room when a fired up Santino Marella comes in asking him, “What the hell was that?”

He talks about how violent Callihan and Warner got moments ago during the TNA International Championship Tournament match. Callihan says this ain’t a joke. He wants to finish things once and for all with Warner.

Santino asks Callihan what it is going to take to make that happen. Callihan demands a Barbed Wire Massacre bout with Warner at TNA Unbreakable 2025. Santino gives it the green light. It’s official.

Leon Slater vs. Ryan Nemeth

Back inside the Impact Zone, Leon Slater and Ryan Nemeth make their respective ring walks. The bell then sounds to get the next match of the evening officially off-and-running.

Slater gets off to an impressive start, only for Nemeth to shift the offensive momentum into his favor. Slater doesn’t stay on the defensive for long, however, as he soon begins taking back over.

Slater hits his Twist of Slate homage to The Hardys, and then heads to the top-rope. With the crowd roaring, the young talented TNA prospect hits his 450 swanton bomb for the pinfall victory. The show heads into anther commercial break.

Match Result: Leon Slater defeated Ryan Nemeth

Mike Santana Begins His Revenge On Mustafa Ali

When the show returns, we see a flashback segment with highlights of the classic AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe vs. Christopher Daniels triple-threat match from the original TNA Unbreakable event.

After that, we shoot to a cinematic experience-style segment, where Mike Santana has John Skyler of The Great Hands tied up in a bunker of some sort. Skyler cries and begs as Santana tells him Ali doesn’t care about him.

He says Ali took one from him, and now he’s gonna do the same to Ali. He’s gonna take his people out one at a time. He stands up with a shovel and winds up to bash Skyler’s head in.

As Skyler flinches and cries some more, Santana stops in mid-swing and sends one final warning to Skyler about Ali.

Eddie Edwards (w/ Alisha Edwards) vs. Steve Maclin

Inside the Impact Zone, the theme for The System hits to bring out Eddie Edwards. He makes his way to the ring accompanied by Alisha Edwards. It’s now his own turn to prove himself.

His music dies down and the familiar sounds of his opponent’s theme plays to bring out “Bulletproof” Steve Maclin. The bell sounds to get things underway.

Maclin starts off strong, but a distraction from Alisha at ringside early into the bout allows Edwards to shift the offensive momentum into his favor.

Maclin takes over again, only for outside interference to once again lead to Edwards in the offensive driver’s seat. The show heads into a mid-match commercial break as Edwards continues to add to his lead.

As soon as the show returns, Edwards lands a vicious chop that echoes throughout the Impact Zone and elicits audible gasps from the crowd. Edwards with a snap-mare to bring Maclin to the mat.

He picks him back up and hits a short-arm clothesline to put him back to the mat. Maclin finally blasts Edwards and decks him. Both guys are down and the fans rally behind Maclin.

They get up and trade shots back-and-forth in the middle of the ring. Maclin comes off the ropes with a Thesz Press and a barrage of follow-up punches on the ground. Maclin with a big slam for a close two-count.

Yet again Alisha gets involved from ringside, and this leads to Edwards to taking back over on offense. He takes too long while climbing to the top-rope, however, and Maclin cuts him off. Maclin climbs up after him but Edwards knocks him off.

Maclin climbs right back up and he hoists Edwards up for a Super-Olympic Slam. Maclin then hangs Edwards upside down in the tree of woe in the opposing corner.

He charges at him and hits a spear to knock him down. The System come out to ringside. They pass Edwards The System ring. Eric Young and The Northern Armory come out.

Young stops Judas and Williams from helping Maclin. Edwards drills Maclin with The System ring and then follows up with the Boston Knee Party for the pinfall victory. The show heads to another commercial break.

Match Result: Eddie Edwards defeated Steve Maclin

Joe Hendry Announcement

It’s main event (segment) time!

When the show returns, matches and segments are announced for next week’s episode of TNA Impact (see below). The familiar sounds of Joe Hendry’s theme song hits the house speakers as the show settles back inside the Impact Zone.

Hendry settles in the ring and talks with a serious voice about suffering a serious rotator cuff injury. He says in this business, you’ve got to take the bad with the good. He says he always claimed he would defend his TNA World Championship against anyone from any company.

He says if you can’t defend the championship, then you shouldn’t be the champion. Fans cut him off with loud “We Believe!” chants. He again mentions having to take the bad with the good. He says the bad news is the medical team has told him he shouldn’t compete.

He says the good news is he told the medical team he will compete at TNA Rebellion 2025. He says he’ll defend his TNA World Championship against two of the biggest scumbags he’s ever met in Frankie Kazarian and Ethan Page.

He vows to walk out of TNA Rebellion 2025 with the TNA World Championship still in his possession. Fans chant “We Believe!” again. Theme for Frankie Kazarian hits and out comes one of his two opponents scheduled for TNA Rebellion 2025.

Kazarian taunts Hendry over his rotator cuff injury. He tells him if he’s not 100 percent, there’s no way he can compete with “The King of TNA.” He tells Hendry he makes the mistake of caring about the stupid fans.

He says he’ll be a beast at TNA Rebellion. He’ll expose of Ethan Page and finally get his hands on Hendry, beat him and become TNA World Champion. Hendry asks if he just said he can’t wait to get his hands on an injured Joe Hendry?

Hendry tells Kazarian one week before Rebellion, at Unbreakable, there is going to be a tag match. It’ll be Kazarian and Tessa Blanchard taking on TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich and TNA World Champion Joe Hendry. Hendry’s theme hits again to wrap up this week’s show.

**********
The Countdown To Turning Point 2024 pre-show kicks off with Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt welcoming us to the show.

Joe Hendry Talks Turkey Ahead Of 2024 Turkey Bowl Match

Joe Hendry’s theme then hits and out he comes ahead of his Turkey Bowl match later in the evening. Hendry gets on the microphone and says he’d like to be in the world title picture, but instead he’s in the Turkey Bowl match. He brings up the other competitors in the match.

He has images of each participant flash on the screen. First up is Hammerstone. He says he’d be more marketable if he dressed up. We see Hammerstone with a turkey face. He asks the crowd if they should re-name him Hammer-Turkey or Turkey-Stone. The fans went with Turkey-Stone.

Hendry says unfortunately PCO can’t be here tonight, but he has been replaced by Rhino. He says he’d be better as another animal and we see a turkey over his face. Brian Myers’ image is put up next. He asks if the production crew can switch it to the worst pro wrestler of all-time.

The image blinks and the same image is shown. He asks the crowd if they’re ready for some wrestling action. He gets them to chant “T-N-A!” and then “We Believe!” to wrap things up.

Rosemary defeated Xia Brookside and Savannah Evans in a Knockouts triple-threat match

We move on to our first match of the evening, a triple-threat Knockouts match pitting Savannah Evans, Rosemary and Xia Brookside against each other. All three make their respective ring walks, the bell sounds and things get underway.

After some initial back-and-forth action, Evans starts to dominate on offense. Rosemary tries to steal the pin over Edwards, leading to Evans snatching Rosemary up and putting a scare into her. The two then turn their attention to Brookside, where they turn her inside-out with a double clothesline.

Evans and Rosemary jaw back-and-forth at each other again, and then head to go to work on Brookside again. This time, however, Brookside starts to fight back. She takes Rosemary out and knocks her out of the ring, before knocking Evans out to the ringside area with a dropkick.

Brookside goes for a middle-rope cross-body splash onto Evans and Rosemary, but they catch her and slam her on the ring apron with authority. The action resumes inside the ring, where Evans and Rosemary again team up and beat on Brookside together.

Their alliance ends soon after, with Rosemary thumbing Evans in the eye. Evans then levels Rosemary with a clothesline and sends Brookside back to the mat with a big boot to the chin.

We see some more back-and-forth action, and then Brookside hits a Brookside-Bomb on Evans off the ropes, but walks into a spear from Rosemary. Rosemary follows up with the cover for the win.

Gia Miller Interviews Steve Maclin

A Steve Maclin video package is shown, along with a look at the ongoing rivalry between Maclin and “The Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander. When it wraps up, Gia Miller is backstage with Steve Maclin. Maclin talks about Alexander making things very personal between them. He vows to make him pay tonight.

Hannifan and Rehwoldt run down the lineup for the show one final time as fans chant “TNA! TNA!” in the background. That’s how “Countdown to TNA Turning Point” wraps up. We now head into the pay-per-view portion of tonight’s big event as part of WrestleCade 2024 in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Mike Santana defeated Frankie Kazarian

The cold open video package airs to get things started and then we return inside the building, where Hannifan and Rehwoldt welcome us to the 19th annual TNA Turning Point. Mike Santana’s theme hits and out comes “The Realest” through the crowd for our opening contest.

Fans chant “Santana! Santana!” as he settles inside the squared circle. His music dies down, and then the theme for his opponent plays. Out comes the winner of the 2024 Call Your Shot Gauntlet, the self-proclaimed “King of TNA” Frankie Kazarian.

Santana goes after Kazarian, who early on tries everything he can to avoid the action. He leans through the ropes and hides behind the referee, but ultimately Santana gets his hands on him and jumps off into a comfortable early offensive lead.

He hits a springboard moonsault off the middle rope that looked scary for Santana. He follows that up with a dive through the ropes for a splash onto Kazarian on the floor. On the way back in the ring, Kazarian catches Santana coming through the ropes and shifts the offensive momentum into his favor.

Kazarian hits a leaping DDT to Santana on the ring apron. Santana is super slow to recover, and the commentators worked the serious voices for a few seconds there. Santana comes to life when leaping to the top like Kurt Angle, and throwing Kazarian overhead for a big comeback spot.

After some big moves attempted while running the ropes, Santana rolls through for a Rolling Buck-50 for a close two-count. Santana hits a big twisting-neckbreaker off the top-rope to Kazarian for another close two-count.

Kazarian fights back and slingshots Santana off the ring apron over the ropes and into the ring, catching him with a well-timed cutter on the way down for a close two-count of his own. Kazarian sets up Fade To Black, but Santana avoids it and hits a Spin The Block out of nowhere for the win.

Backstage With The System

Brian Myers is shown with the rest of The System, sans-JDC, backstage. Myers vows no one is going to see him in a turkey suit tonight. Moose sends a message to Laredo Kid ahead of his X-Division title defense.

He claims he’s taking his mask and sending him back to Mexico or Laredo, TX. Eddie Edwards finishes with a message for Nic Nemeth, making it clear he intends to leave tonight as the new TNA World Champion.

Joe Hendry defeated Brian Myers, Eric Young, John Skyler, Hammerstone and Rhino to win the 2024 Turkey Bowl

Back inside the building, The System theme hits and out comes Brian Myers first for our next match of the evening — the annual Turkey Bowl match! Eric Young makes his way out next. John Skyler comes out doing the Rick Rude “sweat-hogs” spiel. Hammerstone and Rhino follow, and finally, Joe Hendry.

The bell sounds and all six men immediately collide and splinter off into groups of two’s in various parts of the ring and ringside area. Hannifan speculates Hammerstone suffered an injury to his left leg as Young works over the lone competitor in the ring at the moment.

The referee calls for medical attention to check on Hammerstone as the match continues. He ends up remaining in the match, getting physically involved again just in time to be one of many competitors to be run over by a gore from Rhino. Myers takes out Rhino with a spear.

He sets up for another one, but runs into a Standing Ovation from Hendry. Hendry covers Myers and gets the pin. Brian Myers must wear the turkey suit. Hendry’s theme plays and he celebrates with the turkey suit in-hand. Myers tries to flee the scene, but is forced back into the ring.

Hendry hits an Attitude Adjustment on Myers and then he, Young and Rhino play to the crowd, who chants “Gore! Gore! Gore!” Young whips Myers into a gore from Rhino. Fans chant “Turkey Myers! Turkey Myers!” as the trio put the turkey suit on the unconscious Myers.

Rosemary Has Sights Set On TNA Knockouts Championship

Rosemary is shown in an empty stairwell talking crazy like always. She doesn’t care if it’s Jordynne Grace or Masha Slamovich, “we” have our sights set on that shiny, shiny prize.

“We want it and we will take it! We will take everything good in your lives. A harvester of despair!” She lets out one final psycho laugh and assures there is nothing anyone can do to stop her.

Moose (c) defeated Laredo Kid to retain the TNA X-Division Championship

Back inside the building, the X-Factors graphic flashes on the screen as Hannifan and Rehwoldt set the stage for our next match of the evening, which features the TNA X-Division Championship on-the-line.

Out comes masked fan-favorite Laredo Kid for his big title opportunity against the franchise and head honcho of The System — Moose. The bell sounds and Laredo gets right in Moose’s face. He shoves him to start things off.

Moose immediately begins manhandling his much smaller opposition. He sends him crashing and burning out to the floor with authority. He rams him into the barricade with vicious vengeance. Back in the ring, Alisha Edwards sneaks in some cheap shots on Kid from the floor.

Kid starts to show signs of life, fighting from underneath and blasting the big man with some strikes. He catches him with a wild Spanish Fly for a close two-count, but after that, Moose quickly took back over and ran over Kid with a spear for the win.

Steve Maclin defeated Josh Alexander in a No Disqualification match

The video package airs to tell the story leading up to our next match of the evening, which features Steve Maclin going one-on-one against “The Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander in a No Disqualification match.

Alexander makes his way to the ring first, with his trademark amateur wrestling headgear on. Out next wearing special war paint for the first time in a while is Maclin. The bell sounds and off we go with this No DQ showdown.

Maclin quickly takes it to Alexander, bringing the fight out to the floor. He drills Alexander with some stiff shots and then pulls a table out from under the ring and sets it up for a big pop.

They continue to fight outside the ring for several minutes on a floor with no protective mats, just a thin layer of carpet covering an unforgiving solid floor. Maclin hits a death valley driver on Alexander through the table.

Maclin grabs a steel chair and throws it in the ring. He grabs a trash can lid and whacks Alexander across the back with it. Back in the ring, Alexander starts to take over. He gets Maclin in the ankle lock temporarily. Long enough to mess up Maclin’s ankle, which he now focuses his attack on.

Alexander dumps Maclin back out to the floor in the pile of rubble that used to be a table. A light “Walking Weiner” chant spreads as “The Walking Weapon” continues to bring the fight to Maclin at ringside.

A “forbidden door” is pulled out from under the ring by Alexander, but Maclin dropkicks it into his face. Maclin picks the door up and knocks on it before setting it over top of a lifeless Alexander. He runs off the ring apron with a “Double Bang Bang” Cactus Jack-style elbow.

He then beats Alexander with the door, which like Rampage Jackson on a pissed off Ultimate Fighter set, quickly turns into a thousand toothpicks. Alexander fights back and uses what is left of the door to obliterate the leg of Maclin, which is wrapped around the ring post.

Alexander unfolds two steel chairs and sets them in the ring facing each other, seat-to-seat. He climbs up on them with both feet and picks up a lifeless Maclin, scooping him up for a pile driver, only for Maclin to escape and hit Alexander with an Alabama Slam onto the chairs. Fans chant “This is Awesome!”

Maclin goes to work on Alexander as the fans rally behind him. He hits a wild running busaiku knee through a steel chair to Alexander’s dome. Alexander recovers, however, and throws a chair at Maclin, Sabu-style, before launching him out to the floor with a Torture Rack Bomb through a table.

Alexander rolls what is left of Maclin into the ring and covers him, but somehow Maclin kicks out at two. Alexander immediately slaps an ankle lock on the weakened limb of Maclin. Maclin kicks Alexander off, sending him head-first into a trash can wedged in the turnbuckles in the corner.

Maclin hangs Alexander upside down in the tree of woe in the corner, with the trash can still wedged in the turnbuckles behind him. Maclin charges across the ring with a spear. And again. And a third time, which he follows up with a K.I.A.

He covers Alexander, and had him beat, but pulled him up after the count of two, favoring delivering more punishment over a guaranteed match victory in that moment. He heads out to the floor and reaches under the ring for the obligatory little black sack. What’s in this one? Bullet shell casings.

Maclin dumps the bullet shell casings in a big pile. He picks up Alexander for another K.I.A., but Alexander kicks Maclin low. Alexander hooks Maclin for a C4 Spike off the middle rope onto the bullet shell-casings, but Maclin avoids it and hits Alexander with a super-K.I.A. onto the shell-casings for the win. “Steve Maclin is bulletproof!” says Hannifan. Oh Tom. Now you’re being silly. Great match.

The Hardys & Ace Austin defeated Zachary Wentz, KUSHIDA & Matt Riddle

Hannifan and Rehwoldt mention Ace Austin is teaming up with North Carolina’s own The Hardys, Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy, for a big six-man tag-team showdown against the team of Zachary Wentz, KUSHIDA and a mystery partner, due to Trey Miguel having travel issues.

Before things get rolling for this match, a pre-match video package airs to promote the GoFundMe campaign set up for Chris Bey, the ABC tag-team partner of Ace Austin. When it wraps up, Ace Austin makes his way out for his team. The Hardys head out next to a huge reaction to join him.

Matt Hardy stops to embrace with his wife, Reby Hardy, and their children, before settling inside the squared circle for one of the featured matches of the evening. The Hardys’ iconic theme wraps up and the “DELETE! DELETE!” chants spread throughout the building.

“Time-Splitter” KUSHIDA is out first for their opposition. Marty McFly’s favorite wrestler settles inside the ring as Hannifan and Rehwoldt talk on commentary about Trey Miguel’s travel issues. Zachary Wentz of The Rascalz is out next by himself.

Wentz gets on the microphone and says he went to The Treehouse to think of the only potential replacement. “BRO!” hits the house speakers and out comes Matt Riddle to enthusiastic chants of “BRO! BRO! BRO!” to fill the void left by Miguel. The bell sounds and off we go.

The Hardys pull some clever veteran tactics to help their team jump into the early offensive lead. Austin tags in and takes over, taking it to KUSHIDA as the crowd cheers him on. KUSHIDA ends up hitting a seated dropkick to Austin to slow him down. He then tags Riddle in for the first time of the evening.

Riddle is now in a TNA ring for the first time ever. He muscles up Austin and hits a rolling gut-wrench suplex sequence. Austin takes over and finally makes the hot tag to Matt Hardy.

Hardy helps shift the momentum back into his team’s favor and sets up Jeff for the finish for the win. The Hardys and Ace Austin show respect to Riddle and company afterwards in a feel-good moment.

Masha Slamovich (c) defeated Jordynne Grace 2-1 to retain TNA Knockouts Championship in 2 out of 3 Falls match

It’s time for championship action for the second time this evening, with the women up this time, as the TNA Knockouts Championship is on-the-line next in a 2 out of 3 falls match.

Former title-holder Jordynne Grace’s theme hits and “The Juggernaut” makes her way to the ring to a nice crowd reaction. She settles inside the squared circle, her music dies down, and the entrance tune for the reigning champion hits to bring out Masha Slamovich.

The bell sounds to get this title tilt officially off-and-running. The two stay clinched standing and grappling on the mat in the initial exchanges. The two are off to a slow, feeling-out-process type of start in what will no doubt be a lengthy showdown with three potential falls in store.

Grace hits multiple clotheslines and a spinebuster for a two-count in the first hard-hitting offense sequence in the match thus far. Slamovich fights back and hoists Grace up on her back, launching her throat-first across the ring ropes. Slamovich decks Grace with a big clothesline of her own.

Slamovich hits a package piledriver to Grace on the unprotected floor at ringside. Scary stuff. Fans chant “Women’s Wrestling!” Back in the ring, Slamovich looks for another package piledriver, but this time Grace avoids it and starts to take over.

She looks for a muscle buster, but Slamovich avoids it. Slamovich hits a big knee. The two each attempt multiple roll-ups and pin attempts. Grace ends up scoring the first fall to jump up 1-0.

Moments later, Slamovich nearly ties things up with a double-stomp into a cover, but Grace kicks out. Slamovich slaps a sleeper on Grace afterwards, however, and “The Juggernaut” begins to fade. The fans rally behind Grace, who comes to life and ultimately escapes.

Grace hits a Vertebreaker for a super close two-count for a near shutout. Slamovich kicks out and hangs on. Grace looks for the Juggernaut Driver, but Slamovich saw it coming and fought it off. Slamovich hits a wild tornado DDT and floats over into a deep guillotine choke. Grace begins fading.

The referee does the old-school Hulk Hogan arm-check one times, two times, but on the third, we get the always-fun defiant wrist-shake. Slamovich ends up getting a roll-up cradle out of nowhere for a three-count to tie things up at 1-1 heading into the third and final fall.

Grace immediately goes after Slamovich out of frustration and begins ground-and-pounding the hell out of her. Meanwhile, living up to her promise earlier in the show is Rosemary, who comes out of the shadows in the background to get a closer look at this championship contest.

Slamovich blasts Grace with a knee to the face and follows up with a sit-out powerbomb. She then hits a package piledriver for the pinfall victory. Slamovich wins 2-1 to retain her TNA Knockouts Championship. Rosemary is still watching in the background with a specific target now in her sights.

Nic Nemeth (c) defeated Eddie Edwards (w/ Alisha Edwards) to retain the TNA World Championship

It’s main event time!

But first, Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt check-in with a brief on-camera appearance to announce three matches for the December 5 post-Turning Point episode of TNA iMPACT on AXS TV and TNA+ (see below). We then see the video package to tell the story leading up to our TNA World Championship main event.

Back inside the building, The System theme hits to bring out Eddie Edwards. He settles inside the squared circle accompanied by Alisha Edwards, and his music dies down. After the always-present audible female, well, moan, we hear the 1980s hair-metal sounding entrance tune for “The Wanted Man” Nic Nemeth.

The ring announcer handles the final formal pre-match ring introductions for the champion and the challenger, and then the bell sounds to get the final match of the 19th annual TNA Turning Point show officially off-and-running.

Nemeth jumps off in the early offensive lead, but after Alisha makes her presence felt from the ringside area, Eddie Edwards starts to shift the momentum in his favor. Edwards controls the action for a few minutes, stopping to distract the referee long enough for Alisha to sneak in some cheap shots from ringside again.

Nemeth fights back into competitive form, and just as it seems he’s about to pull back ahead, Alisha plays a momentum shifting factor again, jumping on the apron and allowing Edwards to hit a dropkick off the distraction.

Fans chant “Alisha Sucks!” and ,”F**k The System!” as Edwards continues to work over Nemeth. Nemeth finally decks Edwards, and now both guys are down and slowly getting back to their feet. They do, and then begin trading shots back-and-forth in the middle of the ring.

A headbutt from Nemeth allows him to pull ahead, only for Alisha, yet again, to get involved and affect the momentum of the match. The referee caught it this time and ejects her from ringside to the delight of the Winston-Salem crowd.

Nemeth calls for the FameAsser, only to walk into a counter from Edwards. Nemeth starts to fight back again, and this time he hits a FameAsser. He goes for the cover, but only gets two. As he gets up, we see Alisha Edwards, who was ejected from ringside, re-appear.

Nemeth grabs her from the ring apron, but ducks when Edwards charges at him. Nemeth gets hit with a cheap shot with the title. Edwards follows up with a Boston Knee Party for a super close two-count. Alisha is still at ringside, prompting Hannifan to yell and complain on commentary about why that is simply being allowed all of a sudden. Excellent question, by the way.

Edwards goes for the Die-Hard-driver, but Nemeth counters and hits his Danger Zone finisher for a super close two-count of his own. “Holy hot damn!” exclaims Rehwoldt. An actual quote. Hannifan goes back on the verbal offensive over Alisha being allowed to remain at ringside.

Both guys end up laid out on the floor at ringside, when out of nowhere, out runs Brian Myers, still decked out head-to-toe in the turkey suit that was put on him earlier. He hits the ring but before he can do anything, JBL appears in the crowd.

Hannifan plays Bobby Heenan on commentary, questioning who’s side he is on as he approaches the ring. He enters the ring and lays out Turkey Myers with a Clothesline from Hell. Fans chant “JBL! JBL!” as he simply exits the ring and leaves once again without saying a word or doing anything other than landing a devastating match-outcome-altering clothesline.

Nemeth drags himself back in the ring. Edwards does the same. The two mix it up, with Nemeth landing a super-kick and Danger Zone for the win. With the win, Nic Nemeth is still your TNA World Champion. Hannifan says it’s time we get some answers regarding JBL’s relationship with Nemeth, as Nemeth poses on the ropes with his title.

That’s how TNA Turning Point 2024 goes off the air from WrestleCade 2024 in Winston-Salem, N.C. Thanks for joining us and don’t forget to follow F4WOnline.com’s Matt Boone on Twitter/X.

Steve Maclin defeated Hammerstone

After the long recap video kicks off the show, the camera shot settles inside the Impact Zone where Steve Maclin makes his way to the ring. Out next is Hammerstone, with the commentators talking through highlights of his debut on WWE NXT earlier this week.

The bell sounds to start things off, and the two both come out strong. Maclin backs Hammerstone into the corner and lights him up with some chops. Hammerstone fights back but runs into a back-elbow. Maclin drives Hammerstone into his knee and blasts him with a short-range clothesline for a two-count.

Hammerstone muscles Maclin up and rushes him into the corner. He drives his shoulder into his mid-section and blasts him with some forearms. He hoists him up and charges across the ring to do the same thing in the other corner before planting him into the mat with a spinebuster.

Tom Hannifan points out the taped up left shoulder of Maclin and mentions he is curious to see how it holds up in this match. Hammerstone blasts Maclin in the bread basket with a knee. He holds onto Maclin’s injured left arm and begins to go to work on it.

Hammerstone hits a belly-to-back suplex for a two-count, and then goes back to work on his weakened limb. Hammerstone looks for a Torture Rack, but Maclin saw it coming and starts a comeback. He uses his good arm to fight off the muscle monster.

He hits a mean back-breaker and then pounds Hammerstone in the corner. He hangs him upside down in the tree of woe and charges at him with a spear for a close two-count. Maclin tries to hook Hammerstone for the K.I.A., but Hammerstone avoids it and hits a power slam.

Maclin clotheslines Hammerstone over the top and out to the floor. He runs back into the ring and hits a big dive. He brings Hammerstone into the ring and heads to the top-rope. Hammerstone cuts him off and climbs up after him. He hits an enormous overhead belly-to-belly off the top.

Hammerstone hits a single-leg dropkick after avoiding a running knee from Maclin. Hammerstone looks for his finisher but Maclin escapes out the back door and rolls him up for the unexpected three-count.

Hammerstone attacks Maclin after the match. He puts him in the Torture Rack until Eric Young runs out to make the save. Jake Something comes down and he and Hammerstone exchange a look while standing side-by-side glaring at Young and Maclin in the ring.

The System Reboot Continues Tonight

Backstage, Alisha Edwards asks if we want to know something. JDC rips off Jim Neidhart’s “we’re gonna get hungry and forget our manners” line when it is his turn to explain, like the rest of The System all do, why tonight The System Reboot continues. Moose confirms JDC’s status in the group. “You can always trust The System!” The show heads into the first commercial break of the evening.

New Tag-Team Bout For TNA Victory Road

When the show returns, Steve Maclin talks backstage about what he said at TNA Emergence about there not being enough good people worthy of trust and respect in this business. Eric Young walks in and he tells him he’s one of them. Young nods and says the same about Maclin. He tells Hammerstone and Jake Something they’ll see them at Victory Road.

Heather Reckless defeated Gisele Shaw

Inside the Impact Zone, the highly-touted new TNA Knockout Heather Reckless makes her way out for her Impact debut. The commentators sing her praises as she settles inside the squared circle. Her entrance tune dies down and out comes Gisele Shaw for her final match in the promotion.

The commentators remind us about Reckless being cut off last week by Ash By Elegance. The bell sounds and off we go with match number two for this week’s show. The two shake hands, circle and lock up. Shaw muscles Reckless down to the mat with ease.

They lock up again and Shaw slaps a side headlock on Reckless. Reckless begins to fight back and hits a big DDT that plants Shaw’s dome directly into the mat. As the action continues, out comes Ash By Elegance and George Iceman to get a closer look at the action.

Reckless hits a big shoulder tackle off the ropes. She hits a moonsault for a two-count and then follows up with a wild Canadian Destroyer for an even closer nearfall attempt. Shaw fights back with a Spinebuster that would make Arn Anderson proud.

Shaw hits Shock ‘N’ Awe for a close two-count, but Reckless somehow kicks out. George Iceman hops on the apron to distract the referee. While this is going on, Ash By Elegance decks Shaw on the top-rope. Reckless runs up and hits somewhat of a Spanish Fly, which she calls “Recked,” for the win.

Matt Cardona And His Property Set For Action At TNA Victory Road

After the match, we see a new Xia Li “Coming Soon” vignette and then the show heads into another break. When the show returns, “Alwayz Ready” Matt Cardona comes out with his “property,” Steph De Lander. She looks miserable has he orders her around. He makes her hold the ropes for him.

In the ring, she begins to speak first and he yanks the microphone out of her hands and says, “I do the talking around here!” He boasts returning from a life-threatening injury and thinks Santino Marella has it out for him.

Cardona brings up a match with PCO and Rhino against himself and a partner of his choosing for TNA Victory Road. He does a big build-up for the partner reveal, points to the tunnel and then turns to De Lander and says it is her.

He says if she Finger Poke of Dooms him or turns on him, he’s sending her back to Australia. The theme for “The French-Canadian Frankenstein” hits and out comes PCO. Wasn’t Frankenstein the doctors name, by the way?

De Lander low-blows Cardona as PCO enters the ring. He chokeslams Cardona into the mat and gives De Lander a big hug as fans chant his name.

ABC defeated First Class in a Tornado Tag-Team Match

Gia Miller has a quick sit-down interview in the empty arena for a taped segment with Spitfire duo Jody Threat and Dani Luna, who talk about their high stakes tag-team title tilt against TNA Knockouts Tag-Team Champions Masha Slamovich and Alisha Edwards at TNA Victory Road 2024. If they lose, the team must break up.

Inside the Impact Zone, the theme for First Class hits and out comes AJ Francis and KC Navarro for scheduled Tornado Tag-Team action. The reigning TNA Tag-Team Champions ABC come out next. Chris Bey and Ace Austin settle in the ring and the match gets started with a bang.

ABC and First Class all end up on the floor almost immediately, and the brawl is on all over the place. Francis and Navarro settle in the early offensive lead. The show heads into a mid-match break as the fight continues.

When the show returns, Francis and Navarro are in a comfortable offensive lead and talking all kinds of trash in the ring. Bey tries fighting back on the floor, but Navarro maintains control of things. Francis continues a slow domination in the ring on Austin, while Navarro keeps stopping Bey from coming in the ring to help.

Moments later, Bey finally does get in the ring and he and Austin hit a double-suplex on Francis. Bey hits a big cutter. Austin follows up with a big spot of his own and the two both cover Francis at the same time for the win. After the match, the show heads into another commercial break.

Joe Hendry & Josh Alexander Talk TNA Victory Road

The show returns with a Jonathan Gresham vignette about him continuing the rebirth and shedding the mask persona. Back inside the Impact Zone, Joe Hendry’s theme hits and he comes out for his scheduled segment.

He settles in the ring after his full entrance and then calls out Josh Alexander. “The Walking Weapon” appears in the rafters and says he’s up there for Hendry’s own protection. He says, “Now make me laugh, funny man.”

Hendry says he wouldn’t make a video making fun of Alexander …or would he? He introduces The Josh Alexander Story. It’s a music video with Hendry calling Alexander a Jesse Pinkman look-alike who is slowly turning into Walter White. His big claim is Alexander doesn’t ever smile. He calls him Kurt Angle From Wish.

Alexander is shown very much not smiling in the rafters when it wraps up. He talks about everyone loving Hendry because he had a couple of videos that went viral. He didn’t earn it like Alexander, making towns and fighting his way to the top the right way.

He says he’ll be smiling ear to ear when he beats Hendry at Victory Road. Hendry says Alexander sounds upset because the fans aren’t chanting “Walking Weapon.” He says he saw a sign earlier that said, “Walking Weiner.” Of course, that starts a loud “Walking Weiner” chant. Alexander says Hendry just dug his grave a little deeper.

Arianna Grace Makes Jordynne Grace A Promise

The commentators talk about Wendy Choo being announced as Jordynne Grace’s opponent for TNA Victory Road in the TNA Knockouts Championship match. We see Grace confront NXT and TNA liaison Arianna Grace about the pillow appearing last week.

She asks who else carries around a pillow other than Choo. Arianna says The Sandman. Grace gets a promise from Arianna that there won’t be any funny business at Victory Road during her match. The show heads into another commercial break.

Ash By Elegance defeated Xia Brookside

When the show returns, Mike Santana is shown in a vignette talking about Nic Nemeth’s commendable run thus far as TNA World Champion. He mentions how he is going to punish Moose. Back inside the Impact Zone, George Iceman introduces Ash By Elegance.

Xia Brookside is out next and then the bell sounds to get this one off-and-running. The two trade shots and then Ash runs into a big boot from Brookside in the corner. Brookside slams her down and then hits a cross body splash for a two-count.

Brookside blasts Ash in the back with a big kick. She rolls her up for two and then blasts her with another kick. Iceman trips up Brookside and Ash starts to take over. She stomps a mudhole in Brookside. She does not, however, walk it dry. She goes for a cover for a two-count.

Brookside fights back and takes over. She hits two Broken Wings to the back of Ash as she is kneeling in the corner. She goes for a third but is stopped by Iceman who hops on the apron and begs her to show mercy to the lovely Ash. She eventually goes for it, but misses. Heather Reckless runs out and cheap shots her and Ash rolls her up for the win. Reckless stands next to Ash as she poses in victory at ringside.

The Hardys (Matt & Jeff Hardy) defeated The System (Brian Myers & Eddie Edwards)

It’s main event time!

But first, Nic Nemeth is shown backstage for a go-home promo for Victory Road. He talks about Moose having the chance to handle things like a man, but opting to go a different route.

He mocks The System Reboot and talks about Moose tagging his heroes like The Rock and Triple H, who he points out he shared the ring with and beat in the past. After he wraps up, the commentators hype tonight’s tag-team main event and the show heads into another commercial break.

When the show returns, Ash By Elegance is complaining about her hair to George Iceman when Heather Reckless walks in. They both liked her helping Ash by agree she needs a makeover. Iceman offers to give her one if she wants some time.

Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt run down the lineup for TNA Victory Road. The Hardys vs. First Class in a main card bout and KUSHIDA vs. Leon Slater and Steve Maclin & Eric Young vs. Hammerstone & Jake Something is confirmed for the “Countdown” pre-show.

The System theme hits inside the Impact Zone and out comes Brian Myers and Eddie Edwards accompanied by Alisha Edwards. The three head to the ring for our scheduled tag-team main event match of the evening.

The iconic entrance tune for The Hardys plays next and out comes Matt and Jeff Hardy to the ring to a big pop from the Louisville crowd. As the four men are in the ring and ready to rock and roll, Hannifan and Rehwoldt talk us into one final pre-match commercial break.

When the show returns, fans chant “Happy Birthday” to Jeff Hardy. Hannifan says on commentary they’re wishing him a happy belated birthday. Nice. We’re live .. as far as you know! Evil laugh! Matt and Myers kick things off for their respective teams.

Matt takes the early offensive lead, isolating the arm of Myers and working it over while fans chant “DELETE! DELETE! DELETE!” Jeff tags in, the happy birthday chants spread like wildfire again, and he picks up where Matt left off. After taking it to Myers a bit, he tags Matt right back in.

Myers takes over and brings Matt to The System corner of the ring, where he tags in Edwards. Edwards goes to work on Matt with chops until Matt fights back and tags Jeff back in. The two hit a double-team spot on Edwards. Jeff settles back in the offensive lead.

The Hardys hit their trademark Poetry in Motion double-team spot and then dump Myers and Edwards out to the floor. Jeff dives off the apron with a double clothesline to take out both members of The System. Edwards trips Jeff up as he re-enters the ring and Jeff walks into a super kick from Myers.

As The System settles into the offensive lead, Hannifan talks us into a mid-match commercial break as the main event of the evening continues. When we return, we see Matt fighting from underneath and beginning to make a comeback, only for Alisha Edwards to get involved at ringside and cut it short.

The System settle back into a comfortable offensive lead, utilizing frequent tags and keeping Matt cut off on their side of the ring. Matt hits a right hand a neck-breaker minutes later to finally crawl to his corner for the much-needed tag.

The (belated)-birthday boy gets the hot tag and brings the fans out of their seats with his white-hot babyface comeback. He rolls through his greatest hits of trademark spot, such as the crotch leg drop, Whisper in the Wind and Twist of Fate. He takes the shirt off for the female pop. The works, folks.

His attempt at a top-rope Swanton Bomb is broken up by interference from Myers. Edwards tries capitalizing with a pin, but only gets two. Fans break out in a random-ass “Brother Nero” chant. The System Over-Load attempt is broken up by Matt.

Matt hits a Twist of Fate to Myers off the ropes. He’s sent to the floor and Hardy hits a Twist of Fate on Edwards. Jeff hits the top-rope Swanton Bomb for the win. We all go home happy. And TNA’s Victory Road go-home show ends on that note.

TNA Impact live results: Nic Nemeth vs. Josh Alexander World title match

After sending former X-Division Champion Mustafa Ali packing in his first title defense, TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth will look to go two-for-two when he battles former champion Josh Alexander on tonight’s edition of Impact.

The two went toe-to-toe in the Slammiversary six-way that saw Nemeth win his first TNA title. Alexander decided to take a different path during the match when it comes to the fans and is now hell-bent on regaining the gold.

The show will feature two more three-way qualifiers for an Ultimate X match at this month’s Emergence as NXT’s Riley Osborne will battle Chris Bey and John Skyler in one while in the other, Ace Austin faces Rich Swann and Jason Hotch.

In separate promos, former champion Steve Maclin will be on hand as will current Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace.

In what should be a hard-hitting bout, former champion Moose will take on Mike Santana while former Knockouts Champion Tasha Steelz will face Gisele Shaw.

**********
Riley Osborne defeated Chris Bey and John Skyler to qualify for Ultimate X at TNA Emergence

Kicking off this week’s show is the first of two scheduled Ultimate X Qualifying matches. One-half of the TNA World Tag-Team Champions ABC, Chris Bey, makes his way out to the ring first.

John Skyler comes out next with a microphone in-hand telling the local Tampa, FL. crowd, “Shut up…shut up! Even though you two-timing Tampa twerps can tell …” he begins, as he walks-and-talks his way to the ring boasting how he’s going to beat Chris Bey “and this other ham sandwich.” He vows to qualify tonight and bring down the Ultimate X “by these good hands!”

WWE NXT Superstar Riley Osborne of Chase U comes out to a big pop from the fans inside the Florida State Fairgrounds. Fans break out into a “Chase U! Chase U!” chant as he settles inside the squared circle for the opening contest.

Before the bell sounds, “The King of TNA” Frankie Kazarian makes his way out. On commentary, Tom Hannifan questions why he’s out here for this match. He finds out soon after, as Kaz takes a seat alongside he and Matthew Rehwoldt for special guest commentary. The bell sounds and the first match of the evening gets underway.

Bey knocks Skyler out to the floor and splashes on him at ringside to start things off. Kaz says he’s out for commentary because Santino Marella won’t give him a title opportunity and the X-Division is what it is because of him. He says he’ll immediately win the X-Division title and use option C to become world champion, since Santino won’t let him do it the normal way.

Meanwhile, Skyler takes over on offense in the ring, with Osborne down in one corner while he works over Bey in the other. Bey starts to fight back and peppers Skyler with some chops. Skyler hits a belly-to-belly suplex to Bey, who crashes onto Osborne on the way down.

With Bey still out on the floor, Skyler locks Osborne in a Boston crab in the center of the ring. Bey eventually makes it back in to break things up. Bey hits a slingshot DDT on Skyler, but is then tossed over the top and out to the floor by Osborne. The Chase U student follows up with a big flipping dive over the top and onto Bey.

Back in the ring, he hits a falcon arrow on Skyler for a two-count. As this is going on, Kaz talks to Rehwoldt about “oiling up and smelling good” for his special commentary appearance this evening. Hannifan asks what he did to deserve this. Skyler gets caught with a slingshot cutter and then Bey and hits The Art of Finesse on Osborne.

Skyler sends Bey into the post before he can make the cover. He tries stealing the pin, but Osborne reverses it for a two-count of his own. Osborne heads to the top-rope and hits a picture-perfect shooting star press on Skyler to qualify for Ultimate X at TNA Emergence 2024. Good opener.

Nic Nemeth Talks TNA World Title Defense Later Tonight

“Earlier today” footage of TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth arriving to the building. He is approached for an interview in the parking lot and asked about his title defense against Josh Alexander later this evening. Nemeth says Alexander isn’t the same guy who had record-long title reigns for TNA in the past.

He made the mistake of mentioning Nemeth’s family and tonight Nemeth will stand over Alexander and prove to him “how damn good” he is. After this, the show heads into the first commercial break of the evening.

Santino Marella Leverages Matt Cardona Into Contract For PCO Fight

The show returns with Santino Marella in the ring. The TNA Wrestling authority figure talks about what Matt Cardona did last week, crashing PCO and Steph De Lander’s honeymoon last week and brutally assaulting “The French-Canadian Frankenstein.”

Marella then calls out Cardona and “The Indy God” makes his way out to the ring. He talks about all that Cardona did, including hurting his own jaw, which he said was sore for three days. He says despite all that, he has a proposition to make him.

Cardona tells Marella they go back and he’s acting like he doesn’t know about him. He says he’s “The Death Match King” and “The Indy God.” He says he doesn’t work for Santino, TNA or anybody else. Cardona talks about what he did at the wedding and honeymoon of De Lander and PCO. Santino laughs and says Cardona just gave him evidence on-camera.

He can have him prosecuted, or he can listen to Santino’s proposition. He says he’ll “prostitute, I mean prosecute” Cardona and send him to jail if he doesn’t agree to sign a contract right now. Cardona clarifies, “You’re saying if I wrestle PCO in Tampa, I don’t have to go to jail?” Santino says, “Yeah.”

Cardona takes the contract from Santino and says he’ll have his people look it over and if everything is good, he’ll fight PCO in Tampa. “You can trust me, Santino,” he says, before walking off. Santino seems to think that’s as good as signed. Hmmm.

Steve Maclin Sends A Message To Eric Young

Backstage, Frankie Kazarian boasts showing next week how he’s going to get to the TNA World Championship by way of the X-Division Championship. Up walks Eric Young for a verbal back-and-forth with him. Steve Maclin also enters the picture and the three exchange cold stares.

We then shoot to a video package with Maclin, who vows to work his way back to the TNA World Championship. He’ll stack bodies one-by-one, naming many of the top stars in TNA as those he’ll go through if necessary. He mentions Young as someone he has never faced. He says he’s gonna change that.

He says Young wants to be the face and heartbeat of TNA. Maclin says he’s the new blood that is being pumped through the veins and heart of TNA. He tells Young he’ll be the first body he stacks and then it’s “tag’m, bag’m and mayhem for all.”

Gisele Shaw defeated Tasha Steelz

TNA Wrestling’s Cardi B (“Okkurrrr!”) makes her way out to the ring for our second match of the evening on this week’s show. We see highlights of her cheating to defeat Gisele Shaw on a recent episode of TNA Xplosion, which is why tonight’s match features multiple referees.

Shaw’s theme hits next and “The Quintessential Diva” makes her way out and heads to the ring for her fair shake against Steelz. As soon as the bell sounds, Shaw charges across the ring and blasts Steelz in the bread-basket.

She charges across the ring and blasts Steelz as she climbs to the middle rope with a big kick. She slams her for a two-count. Steelz heads out to the floor, so Shaw chases after her. Steelz catches her coming out and slams her into the steel ring steps.

Under the ring, Steelz finds a giant steel wrench. One of the three referees on the floor takes it from her. Essentially a spot to show that there’s multiple officials involved in this one. Back in the ring, Steelz hits a shining wizard type of kick for a two-count.

Shaw hits a big spinebuster off the ropes and stalks Steelz as she gets up. She hits a shock-and-awe for a close two-count. Shaw goes for a big running knee out of the corner, but Steelz sees it coming and counters with a nasty jaw-breaker for a two-count of her own.

We see Steelz literally “tuning up the band” ala Shawn Michaels in the corner, but when she goes for the follow-up super kick, Shaw blocks it. Shaw goes for a cradle shock, but Steelz counters.

She tries leveraging a pin with her feet on the ropes, but another one of the outside-of-the-ring officials pushes her feet off before she can get the three-count. Steelz goes to bicker at him and Shaw takes over, this time connecting with her running knee finisher for the pinfall victory.

Moose defeated Mike Santana

Backstage, The System, still wearing their early WWE-days Mark Henry-style red, white and blue jacket and pants outfits, are shown standing over Mike Santana after beating him down and knocking him out.

A bunch of TNA officials rush to the scene to tend to Santana as The System taunts him, “Woof! Woof!”, as they walk off. The show heads to another commercial break.

When the show returns, The System and JDC are introduced. They make their way out to the ring in their Mark Henry 1996 WWE gear as the commentators bring fans up to speed on their ongoing issues with the aforementioned Santana and Moose’s scheduled match against him tonight.

Alisha Edwards begins. “Do you wanna know something?!” She tells the “stupid fans” of Tampa that they may have expected Moose vs. Santana, Santana is not medically cleared. She says that means it looks like Moose has the night off.

The lights in the building go out and the spotlight begins swirling as the camera shot changes to show Santana arguing with a doctor, pushing past him defiantly to head to the ring and fight regardless. Santana hits the ring and brawls his way through The System.

A referee comes in and calls for the bell and his match with Moose is on. Moose gets the early offensive jump, attacking Santana from behind to get things off-and-running in his favor. He whips Santana into the corner hard and focuses his early attack on Santana’s back.

Moose slides Santana under the bottom rope over the ring apron and blasts him with some standing elbows from the floor. 12-to-6 elbows, by the way, which are legal across the board in all combat sports now-a-days! Santana fights back but Moose chokeslams him onto the apron from the floor.

On that note, the show heads into a mid-match commercial break as Moose continues to dominate the offense, now focusing his attack on the right arm of Santana to take away his Spin The Block-finisher.

When the show returns, Moose is shown distracting the ref in the ring while The System slam Santana shoulder-first into the steel ring post. Moose seems content with a count-out victory, taunting the crowd on one side of the ring as the referee reaches all the way to the count of nine on the other side.

Santana ultimately returns to the ring, where Moose delivers more punishment, stomping away at him in the corner. He ties up the ref again, and now some more members of The System reach under the ropes to choke and further attack Santana.

A defiant Santana, from his knees, waves Moose on in Rock “just bring it” fashion. Moose open-hand slams Santana, which only angers him. Hannifan talks about Santana’s rough life as he explodes back to his feet in an offensive rage.

He takes it to the former TNA World Champion with rights and lefts and then runs into him with his own injured right arm. Santana walks into a big boot from Moose. Moose goes for a chokeslam, but Santana counters and rolls Moose up for a close two-count.

Santana hits the Rolling Buck-50 to shift the offensive momentum in his favor. He follows up with a running cannonball splash to Moose in the corner for a two-count. Santana slaps his own hurt arm, calling for Spin The Block. He hits it but can’t follow-up with a quick cover.

Instead, both guys are down as fans chant “TNA! TNA!” Santana eventually crawls for the cover, but Moose rolls away. Santana rolls Moose back in the ring. Moose yanks Santana’s arm down over the top-rope before Santana re-enters himself. He follows up with an enormous spear for the win. Really good match.

Joe Hendry’s Name Wasn’t Said, But He Appears With An Announcement

After the match, Moose and The System appear to be up to no good, as they close in on Mike Santana, who is still down and out after a very hard fought effort. Although no one said his name, Joe Hendry appeared.

Hendry runs down to the ring to a rock star reception from the Tampa crowd. He has a steel chair in-hand and clears the ring of Moose and the rest of The System. He gets on the mic and tells The System they’ve made enemies out of Santana and himself.

He reminds them that there are strength in numbers. He tells Moose and JDC they will be squaring off against two more enemies of The System next week. The Hardy Boys — Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy.

Spitfire Sends A Message To Malisha

Backstage in the stairwell, The Spitfire duo of Jody Threat and Dani Luna dare Malisha to try them again. They say for them it’s do-or-die and vow that they will recapture the TNA Knockouts Tag-Team Championships. Nic Nemeth vs. Josh Alexander is hyped for tonight’s main event with footage and the graphic for the bout flashes across the screen before the show heads into another commercial break.

Jordynne Grace Responds To Ash By Elegance’s Attack

We return to footage of Ash By Elegance’s pink kendo stick attack of Jordynne Grace on last week’s show. We then shoot to new footage of “The Juggernaut” reacting to what happened. She tells Ash if she wants to fight, she’s damn sure going to get one.

Jason Hotch defeated Ace Austin and Rich Swann to qualify for Ultimate X at TNA Emergence

ABC’s Ace Austin makes his way out to the ring for our next match of the evening, which is the second of two advertised Ultimate X Qualifiers for the show. He will try to do what Chris Bey failed to do in the opener.

Rich Swann makes his way out accompanied by fellow First Class member AJ Francis. The two will be competing with Jason Hotch, already in the ring. The bell sounds and we hear Francis join Hannifan and Rehwoldt on special guest commentary for this one.

Austin gets Hotch out of the ring almost immediately after the match begins. Swann takes control of the offense by attacking Austin from behind after that. Francis is shown telling Hannifan he should be clapping for what Swann did.

Hotch throws Swann to the floor and hits a leaping neck-breaker to Austin for a two-count. Hotch stomps away at Austin and drops down for some ground and pound, but is blasted with a big kick from behind by Swann, who settles back into the offensive driver’s seat.

“I’m not on an island, but I’m very relevant,” says Francis on commentary while boasting about making titles in TNA relevant again, such as the TNA Digital Media and International Heavyweight Wrestling Championships.

Austin hits a big spot on Hotch for a close two-count. Swann breaks it up and Austin rolls him up for a two-count as well. Austin turns Swann inside-out with a big shot and covers him for a close pin attempt. Austin calls for his finisher, but Hotch grabs his boot from ringside to prevent it.

Swann hits a big dive over the top-rope onto both guys on the floor for a big “TNA! TNA!” chant. Hotch knocks Swann into Francis to shut him up for all of two seconds on commentary. Austin goes to work on Hotch, but is then attacked from behind by Francis, which is perfectly legal in this match.

Chris Bey runs out from nowhere and dives over the top-rope to take out Francis. Austin sets up for his finisher again, but he is distracted by John Skyler, who runs out after coming up short in the other Ultimate X Qualifier earlier tonight.

This leads to Hotch scoring a huge upset pin over Austin to qualify for Ultimate X at TNA Emergence. He and Skyler head to the back together as the show heads into another commercial break.

Matt Cardona Signs Contract With One Condition

When the show returns, Matt Cardona convinces Santino Marella to have a six-person mixed match in Tampa first involving himself and PCO, and then a one-on-one bout between the two at TNA Emergence. Cardona again pretends that this is the plan, which Santino is all smiles and happy about.

Nic Nemeth (c) and Josh Alexander fight to a 30-minute time-limit draw

It’s main event time!

The stage is set for the highly-anticipated TNA World Championship clash between reigning champion, “The Danger Zone” Nic Nemeth and former champion, “The Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander.

Alexander heads to the ring to a ton of boos, fresh off of his heel turn at the TNA Slammiversary 2024 pay-per-view last month. His opponent, the reigning and defending champion, Nemeth, heads out next to a big pop from the Tampa crowd.

Following the final formal pre-match ring introductions for the champion and the challenger, this main event title tilt gets officially off-and-running. Nemeth starts off hot, but it isn’t long before “The Walking Weapon” takes over.

The action spills out to the floor, where Alexander slams Nemeth into the steps and the barricade. He taunts fans inside the Impact Zone in the Florida State Fairgrounds as the show heads into a mid-match commercial break as the match continues.

When the show returns, Alexander is shown raking at the eyes of Nemeth over the ropes. The fans boo and the referee gets on his case, but he milks every drop of the five seconds allotted for dastardly deeds.

Nemeth begins fighting from underneath with shots to the bread-basket of “The Walking Weapon,” but Alexander reverses Nemeth face-first into the top turnbuckle to shift the momentum right back into his favor. Soon after this, the show heads into another mid-match advertising time out.

This time when the show returns, Nemeth slowly begins to take over the control of the action. He hits ten elbow drops to the chest of a grounded Alexander. The Jerry Lawler-special. He hits a Fame-Asser for a close two-count. He sets Alexander up for the Danger Zone, but Alexander avoids it.

Alexander looks for the C4, but Nemeth avoids it. Alexander comes off the top-rope with a big knee to Nemeth for a close two-count of his own. Moments later, the show heads into a third mid-match commercial break as the championship main event of the evening continues.

When the show returns, Alexander is seen beating down Nemeth on the floor at ringside. He sends Nemeth shoulder-first into the steel ring steps with a vicious authority. The fans react with a loud “You suck! You suck!” chant. The referee tries to get the match back in the ring.

Alexander rolls Nemeth into the squared circle and stands over his prone body as the boos and groans from the Tampa crowd grows. He beats on a lifeless Nemeth some more and then turns him upside down and inside-out for an over-the-knee back-breaker for another close two-count.

“The Walking Weapon” sits Nemeth on the top-rope backwards. He heads up after him for a belly-to-back super-plex, but Nemeth rolls on top of him as they come crashing down to the mat with a ton of momentum. Nemeth gets a two-count. He pops up and hits his Danger Zone finisher, but is down next to Alexander upon connecting.

He takes several seconds and looks to roll for the cover, but as he does, Alexander rolls out to the floor. Same exact spot used in one of the other featured matches tonight with Moose doing the same with Mike Santana. Booking 101, guys!

Nemeth heads out to the floor and gets Alexander back inside the squared circle after connecting with a DDT on the floor. He picks Alexander up with designs on another Danger Zone, but Alexander fights back and sends Nemeth into the ring post shoulder-first. And again on the other side of the ring.

Alexander hoists Nemeth up and runs him across the ring, lawn-darting him into the middle turnbuckle for Snake Eyes. Nemeth is down and out as Alexander stalks him. He brings Nemeth to the middle of the ring looking for the C4 Spike, but Nemeth comes to life and connects with Danger Zone.

He goes for the cover, but the timekeeper calls for the bell before the referee makes his count. The ring announcer informs us that the 30-minute time-limit has expired. Therefore, still TNA World Champion is Nic Nemeth. The fans boo. Nemeth isn’t happy.

After the match, the fans chant for five more minutes. Nemeth wants it, too. The ref leaves it up to Alexander, who gets to his feet and looks nervous. He drops down and exits the ring. Nemeth stops him and brings him back in. Alexander low-blows Nemeth. He puts his hands on the female official for gasps from the commentators and fans alike.

He takes Nemeth’s title and heads into the ring. He gets in Nemeth’s face and tells him “This belongs to me!” The show goes off the air on that note. Thanks for joining us, and don’t forget to follow me on Twitter/X.

An “In memory of Sika Anoa’i” graphic gets the show started.

Jordynne Grace Gives Ash By Elegance Knockouts Title Shot

Jordynne Grace is introduced and comes to the ring to kick off the show. Gia Miller interviews the Knockouts Champion in the ring and talks about Ash By Elegance trying to get her attention for a while now. She says she saw Santino Marella and signed the contract. Ash gets a Knockouts title shot tonight.

George Iceman comes out to interrupt her. He introduces Ash By Elegance, accompanied by personal security. He says there is a contract and a match, but it won’t be tonight. Instead, it will be at TNA Slammiversary.

Because the contract is already signed, Ash By Elegance is going to take a much-needed, extensive vacation in the Bahamas. For their own safety, they brought security to escort her out of here because she is violent. Ash tells security, “Go get her, boys!” Grace takes out the security guards one-by-one. Santino Marella runs out to stop Jordynne.

Masha Slamovich (w/ Alisha Edwards) defeated Xia Brookside

As Santino is getting Grace to head to the back, Masha Slamovich makes her way out accompanied by Alisha Edwards. Grace and Slamovich lock eyes as they pass each other. Slamovich settles in the ring for the opening contest.

Xia Brookside is out next, and has a quick word with Grace as well. Before the TNA Knockouts Champion heads to the back, she gives Brookside a thumbs up. The match gets started and sees Slamovich grab a side head-lock off an opening lock-up. Brookside counters and slaps on a headlock of her own.

Brookside takes the early offensive lead. She gets Slamovich stumbling back into the corner before dropping down and monkey-flipping her across the ring. Edwards grabs Brookside from ringside, allowing Slamovich to attack Brookside from behind and take over.

Slamovich continues to work over Brookside right in front of Edwards, who taunts her at ringside. Slamovich ties up the referee, allowing Edwards to choke Brookside over the ropes behind his back. Slamovich with a big suplex after that. Slamovich begins working over the arm of Brookside, who fights back.

While selling the arm, she takes over and hits a hurricanrana before following up with Broken Wings. She leaps into a neckbreaker. Fans chant “Let’s go Xia!” as she works over Slamovich in the corner. Edwards hops on the apron, but Brookside knocks her to the floor. The distractions allows Slamovich to hit Brookside with a kick and the Snow Plow for the win.

First Class With DJ Whoo Kid

After a recap of First Class attacking PCO during his date with Steph De Lander is shown. Backstage, DJ Whoo Kid catches up with AJ Francis and Rich Swann. DJ Whoo Kid gives him the International Wrestling Championship, which Killer Kowalski, The Shiek, Mad Dog Vachon, Abdullah The Butcher, Dino Bravo and others have held.

He declares himself the new International Heavyweight Champion. Francis says Rich Swann will beat Nic Nemeth tonight. DJ Whoo Kid gives them some drinks to celebrate. After this wraps up, the show heads into the first commercial break of the evening.

Lars Frederiksen Gives Spitfire Their Final Test

We see Dani Luna and Jody Threat talking with Lars Frederiksen of Rancid, who gives them a tough-love pep talk about how now is the time for them to double down.

For their final test, Jody and Dani will be fighting each other. He wants them to bring the violence in their minds to the ring and most importantly to each other. The Spitfire teammates shake hands.

Mustafa Ali State Of Union Address

Back inside the arena, Campaign Singh is in the ring. He informs us that the man we have all been waiting for is in the building. He introduces the TNA X-Division Champion and out comes Mustafa Ali for his advertised State of the Union address.

The commentators remind us of the alleged distorted bonus footage of Ali’s sit-down with Tom Hannifan being shown at Against All Odds before Ali begins speaking. Ali thanks everyone for their warm, warm reception.

Ali says he is here to address something that happened, which is the aforementioned video that aired showing his true colors. He brings up the distorted audio and unclear images. He says he knows fans demand the truth. Fans in the Impact Zone chant “We want truth! We want truth!”

Ali says he has found the truth after having Campaign Singh launch an investigation. The truth is, that video was A.I. generated “fake news.” He assures the fans he would never belittle his great hometown of Chicago. He says they are number one. Most of what they are number one for is crime related, but still, they’re number one!

With that in the rear view mirror, Ali insists it is time to move forward and look to future challengers for his X-Division Championship. He says he looks to the TNA locker room and other locker rooms to find who deserves to be the new number one contender.

Fans loudly chant “We want Speedball!” Ali says, “No, we don’t want Speedball. Speedball couldn’t hang with me if his life depended on it.” He then asks Chicago who they would like to see. They chant the same thing. Ali says he tried to play nice. He demands a group of hecklers be ejected from the building.

He exits the ring and points out the fans he wants thrown out. One of the fans throws a drink on Ali before leaving. Ali beats the fan down after pulling him over the barricade. He throws the fan in the ring and heads in to beat him down more. “Speedball” Mike Bailey runs out and tackles Ali. Trent Seven is out to try and calm things down. Security tries keeping everything in order.

Ali pretends to leave, but charges around the ring and leaps on Bailey to get the fight going again. It is broken up again but Bailey ends up with the X-Division Championship, which he holds up to taunt Ali. Ali rolls back into the ring and grabs the mic.

He’s sick of hearing fans chant his name. He’s sick of being accused of dodging him. He says he ruined his homecoming, so now he’s gonna ruin his. He’s laying out a challenge for the X-Division Championship between Ali and Bailey at Slammiversary. Bailey is happy and throws the title back to Ali before heading to the back.

We head to another commercial break. When we return from the break, “Speedball” Mike Bailey talks directly into the camera to react to Mustafa Ali’s State of the Union Address. He claims it was a mistake to challenge him for a match in his hometown of Montreal.

ABC (Chris Bey & Ace Austin) defeated Jake Something & Deaner vs. The Rascalz (Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz)

Back in the Impact Zone, it’s time for three-way tag-team action. All three teams come out and first take turns on the microphone talking about being deserving of tag-team title shots. This was after Cody Deaner spoke of meeting with Santino, who told him he is excited they’re back in the tag division and that if they win tonight, they are in line for a tag-team title shot.

Deaner and Miguel kick things off in the ring. Deaner gets the early offensive jump. Wentz tags in for Miguel. Deaner works him over as well briefly before tagging in Something, who picks up where he left off. We head to a mid-match break and when we return, Miguel and Wentz are in the offensive lead, taking it to Deaner and utilizing frequent tags.

The commentators tout Joe Hendry’s appearance in WWE NXT being WWE’s single most viewed clip on X of 2024. Something goes on an offensive tear, cleaning house of many of the opposition in the ring. On the floor, he Donkey Kong’s The Rascalz before the action resumes in the ring, where The Art of Finesse gets ABC the win.

Backstage With The System

Backstage, The System are shown. They talk about Santino Marella always trying to stack the deck against them, but they always end up on top regardless. Moose brings up not losing a singles match in two years now. He says one person might be a problem, but Johnny Dango Curtis is going to handle that potential problem for him. We head to another commercial break after this wraps up.

Steve Maclin defeated Sami Callihan in a Road To Slammiversary Qualifier

An extensive video package airs to promote the next Road To Slammiversary qualifier. It’s time to see who will join the six-man match at Slammiversary with TNA World Champion Moose, as Steve Maclin and Sami Callihan do battle.

Maclin with a fast start, hitting a running knee for a two-count. Callihan fights back with a big near-finish of his own within the first few seconds after a Cactus Driver. Things slow down after that, with Callihan in the offensive driver’s seat.

Maclin turns the tables with another running knee, which he follows up this time with a top-rope headbutt for a close two-count. With Callihan on the floor, Maclin runs the ring apron and hits a flying elbow, Cactus Jack-style, at ringside.

Callihan fights back and launches Maclin on the floor as well. The fans rally behind both guys as the referee begins a double count out, which is stopped when Maclin and Callihan each re-enter the ring just in time after the count of nine. Maclin hits a Rock Bottom-style backbreaker for another nearfall attempt.

Callihan cuts off Maclin’s offensive run with an exploder suplex into the turnbuckles in the corner of the ring. Callihan looks for a Cactus Driver off the middle rope, but Maclin fights his way out of it. He gets behind Callihan on the top-rope, but Callihan gets him on his shoulders and connects with a Super Death Valley Driver.

He follows that up with another Cactus Driver straight into the pin attempt, but still only gets a count of two and a half. Callihan looks for a Cactus Driver on the hard part of the ring apron outside of the ring ropes, but Maclin fights his way free.

Maclin hits a running knee as Callihan was coming back into the ring. He hits his finisher next and gets the win to qualify for the TNA title match at Slammiversary. After the match, the show goes back into another commercial break.

KUSHIDA defeated Alan Angels

After the show returns from the break, Alan Angels makes his way out of the entrance tunnel to the ring for the next match of the show. His opponent, KUSHIDA is out next and before the bell sounds, Angels goes to work on him to get the early offensive jump.

Before even taking his entrance coat off, KUSHIDA fights back and takes over as fans chant his name. Angels fights back with kicks to KUSHIDA in the corner. He whips him to the opposite corner and follows him in with a clothesline.

KUSHIDA catches the right arm of Angels as he leaps to the floor. He snaps the arm of Angels in vicious fashion before taking over in the ring. KUSHIDA hits a Tanaka punch to Angels as he leaped off the ropes. KUSHIDA follows up with the Hoover Board Lock for the tap out victory.

After the match wraps up, Jonathan Gresham hits the ring and attacks KUSHIDA from behind. Gresham leans KUSHIDA’s head back and tries pouring that black ink into his mouth, but security runs out and stops him before he does. The show went into another break after this wrapped up.

Backstage With The Hardys

Backstage, we return from the break to “BROKEN” Matt Hardy, Rebecca Hardy and Jeff Hardy. Matt talks about The System putting their hands on his wife at Against All Odds. He announces a mixed tag match with Matt and Rebecca vs. Eddie & Alisha Edwards in Philadelphia, PA. for next week. Jeff Hardy then mentions The Hardy Boys vs. The System in tag-team action also coming up in Philly.

Nic Nemeth defeated Rich Swann in a Road To Slammiversary Qualifier

It’s main event time!

Back inside the Impact Zone, the commentators plug the TNA Summer Tour and TNA Slammiversary lineup, as well as the card for next week’s Impact. The elaborate video package for our second Road To Slammiversary Qualifier, which serves as this week’s main event, airs next.

Rich Swann and Nic Nemeth make their respective ring walks, with AJ Francis and DJ Whoo Kid accompanying the former, and the latter coming out by himself. Before things get started, we head into another pre-match commercial break.

When we return, Nemeth and Swann lock up and “The Wanted Man” immediately goes to work on the arm of the First Class member, isolating it and cranking away. Meanwhile, the commentators talk about AJ Francis buying the title belt that PCO long wanted after ruining his recent date with Steph De Lander.

Swann gets a break in the action and rolls out to the floor for a quick in-match hug session with Francis and DJ Whoo Kid. Back in the ring, Nemeth hits a quick drop down after switching behind Swann, taking him down to the mat and slapping on a bulldog choke.

Nemeth hits a picture-perfect dropkick and pops up for a quick arrogant hip-swivel in Swann’s face. Swann and DJ Whoo Kid tie up the referee, which allows Francis to get in a cheap shot. He gets in another one, hitting Nemeth with a can of Gin N Juice, before the referee ejects he and DJ Whoo Kid from ringside.

After that, the show heads into a mid-match commercial break. When we return, Swann is still in a comfortable offensive lead. Nemeth eventually fights back and hits the Jerry Lawler heart attack series of quick repeated elbow drops to take over on offense. Swann catches Nemeth coming off the ropes with a huge clothesline to slow down his momentum.

Nemeth leaps onto Swann for a comeback, but Swann catches him and buckle bombs him into the corner. Moments later, out of nowhere, Nemeth hits a Fame-Asser for a close two-count. After Swann kicks out, Nemeth slaps on a sleeper hold onto a grounded Swann.

A Danger Zone attempt doesn’t pan out, leading to Swann hitting a big kick for a two-count. Fans chant “Wanted Man” to try and rally behind Nemeth. Swann sets Nemeth up and heads to the top for a splash, only to land on the raised knees of Nemeth. Swann hits a hand-spring cutter for a close nearfall attempt.

Swann picks up Nemeth, but Nemeth drills him with a big punch. He invites Swann to hit him back, and Swann happily obliges. The two trade shots back-and-forth in the middle of the ring and then Nemeth hits a big headbutt and a super kick. He runs into a super kick by Swann and then delivers another of his own, followed by a DDT. He hits the Danger Zone after that for the win.

With the win, Nemeth joins Steve Maclin and Josh Alexander in the six-way TNA World Championship match against Moose at TNA Slammiversary. Next week, either Frankie Kazarian or Mike Santana, and Joe Hendry or Jake Something will join the three in the bout. Nemeth’s post-match celebration wraps up the show. Thanks for joining us and follow me on Twitter/X.

Next week:

* Frankie Kazarian vs. Mike Santana (Road To Slammiversary Qualifier)
* Joe Hendry vs. Jake Something (Road To Slammiversary Qualifier)
* Dani Luna vs. Jody Threat
* Eddie & Alisha Edwards vs. Matt & Rebecca Hardy

TNA Impact live results: Mike Santana vs. Steve Maclin

After making his debut at April’s Rebellion and picking up a win over former TNA World Champion Steve Maclin, Mike Santana will rematch Maclin on tonight’s episode of Impact.

Former Knockouts title challenger Steph De Lander will be in action as she faces Xia Brookside. Kon will be by Lander’s side which means PCO, an admirer of De Lander and a foe of Kon, may not be far behind.

Former TNA World Champion Sami Callihan will battle the new-look Jonathan Gresham as the latter’s ink-stained macabre run looks to continue.

X-Division Champion Mustafa Ali will prepare for his impending title defense against Trent Seven with a one-on-one match against Leon Slater. The returning Champaign Singh, now known as Campaign Singh, will be in Ali’s corner.

In a battle between partners, ABC’s Ace Austin and Chris Bey will go head-to-head in an attempt to ease their recent strife.

Former TNA World Champion and current Tag Team Champion Eddie Edwards will take on former Digital Media Champion Joe Hendry.

**********

This week’s show kicked off with a look back at The System vs. Matt Hardy and Ryan Nemeth match, and the aftermath, with Santino Marella making the matches for The System at Against All Odds. We also reflect on the X-Division title eliminator between Speedball Mountain partners, setting up Trent Seven vs. Mustafa Ali for the title at Against All Odds.

Chris Bey def. Ace Austin

After that, a shot of Cincinnati, OH. is shown before settling inside the Impact Zone. “Inevitable” Ace Austin is introduced and settles in the ring for the opening match of the evening. His ABC partner Chris Bey made his way out next and the match got underway.

Austin got Bey down to the mat early and controlled him before Bey worked his way back up. Fans chant for both guys with “ABC!” chants as they mixed it up in the early goings. Bey caught Austin with a big shot coming off the ropes, forcing Austin to roll out to the floor to re-group.

After he got back in the ring, Austin fought back, hoisting Bey up, before Bey escaped out the back door and ran Austin into the corner. He tried following in behind him at high speed, but ran into a back elbow for his troubles. Bey fought back and connected with a big drop kick, which shifted the momentum in his favor.

He hit a big back-elbow of his own for a two-count. Bey caught Austin with some knees against the ropes, but Austin answered back and brought Bey down to the mat with authority. Bey sold his back, so Austin focused his attack on it with two big suplexes for back-to-back pin attempts.

On the floor, Bey ran into a big kick from Austin on the ring apron that has him loopy. Austin looked for a big follow-up spot, but Bey had it well-scouted and avoided it. Both guys slowly got back to their feet and traded shots before Austin missed a middle rope kick, resulting in Bey connecting with a spine buster for a close two count.

An Art of Finesse comes up short, before Bey and Austin trade shots. Austin hits a click-click boom before stalking his ABC partner. Bey gets vicious in his own right with a little forearm chivalry. Bey rushed into a big kick from Austin off the middle rope in the corner for another close two.

Austin pulled out the playing card and called for the finish, but Bey had that well-scouted as well and countered with a big shot. He went for the Art of Finesse again but we see another counter. Seconds later, Bey rolled Austin up for the pin fall victory.

Bey tried to help Austin up afterwards, but Austin kept his back turned to him. He ended up turning around and the two shook hands and hugged before Austin held the ropes for Bey. Bey responded by doing the same for him and they left to the back together. After the opener, the show went into the first commercial break of the evening.

Xia Brookside def. Steph De Lander

After the break, Xia Brookside’s theme hit and she made her way out for the second match of the evening. The commentators talk about her getting the best of Ash By Elegance a couple of weeks ago, and footage is shown in split-screen format. The theme for her opponent hit and out came Steph De Lander.

The bell sounded and this one got started with Brookside stomping forward in tune with the claps of the fans inside the Impact Zone. The two locked up and Brookside went behind De Lander with a body lock. De Lander worked her way free and blasted Brookside with a single shot that drops her to both knees.

De Lander hit a big fall away slam for the first pin attempt of the match. She then put the boots to Brookside and whipped her into the corner with authority. She does the same in the opposing corner but runs into a big back elbow from Brookside.

After some more back-and-forth action, De Lander went under the ring for a foreign object, but instead pulled out a foreign wrestler, as PCO emerged. De Lander stared stunned as PCO stood up and caught Brookside in his arms like a baby. Back in the ring, De Lander, still distracted, gets pinned by Brookside.

Once the match wrapped up, De Lander tried explaining to PCO that she didn’t want his help, and that he made her lose her match. He grabs her face and then pulls out a gift that he handed to her in a self-made package that had her name and a heart on it. She accepted it and put it in her top. He smiled.

Jonathan Gresham def. Sami Callihan

Back inside the Impact Zone, the familiar sounds of Sami Callihan’s theme hit and he came out to the ring for the third match of the evening. Jonathan Gresham headed out next and settled in the ring with his mask on. The bell sounds and the two have a big stare down. Callihan gives him a thumbs down and Gresham tries to bite him.

The two finally lock up after that and Callihan rushed Gresham into the corner. Gresham again attempted to bite Callihan’s arm. Callihan bends at the fingers of Gresham, who slowly pulls Callihan’s hand to his face in an attempt to bite him. Callihan loses his cool at that point and pie-faces him before biting Gresham’s dome himself.

On the floor, Callihan blasted Gresham with a big chop that sent him stumbling away. He blasts him with another one as he is leaning against the ring barricade. Callihan gets incredibly close into the camera and tried talking us into a mid-match break, but while doing so, we get a close-up shot of Gresham strangling him from behind.

After the break, we see Gresham still trying to bite and claw at the eyes of Callihan. The commentators point out the referee wearing a face mask and gloves per orders of Santino Marella, as everyone who has come into contact with Gresham since Under Siege has gotten ill. Callihan hits a pile driver on the hard part of the ring apron to Gresham.

Callihan trades shots with Gresham before hitting a Death Valley Driver for a close two-count. Callihan gives a thumbs up for a Cactus Driver ’97, but Gresham countered out of it. Gresham grabs Callihan while he was on his knees and tries summoning something, but Callihan fights back. Callihan noticed ink all over his hand and gets distracted. Gresham snuck in a low blow while the referee was avoiding getting ill and scored the pin.

Gail Kim Sits Down With Gisele Shaw

Gail Kim’s interview with Gisele Shaw is shown. Shaw talks about getting depressed after coming up short in her Knockouts title opportunity and dealing with injuries. Kim explained to her that starting from scratch is okay, and something you shouldn’t shy away from as long as you know what you’re fighting for.

Kim tells Shaw she can only figure out what that is. She tells her to do this as a Knockout, not the Quintessential Diva, starting next week. Shaw says she trusts Kim and will do exactly that. After this wrapped up, the commentators talked us into another commercial break.

Backstage Interviews With The System & Frankie Kazarian

Upon returning from the break, we see The System backstage. They are interviewed about tonight’s match with Joe Hendry. They say they have bigger things to worry about with Against All Odds coming up. They walk off and Frankie Kazarian walks up demanding the interviewer call him “The King of TNA.” She does, he says “You’re damn right,” and walks off.

Steve Maclin and Mike Santana compete to No Contest

Back inside the Impact Zone, we hear the familiar sounds of Steve Maclin’s entrance tune. He settled in the ring for the next bout of the show, and then Mike Santana’s theme hit. Santana made his way to the ring through the crowd. The bell sounded and the two immediately got things started.

After an intense lock-up, Maclin tries to work on Santana’s arm. He kicked him in the bread basket, shot him into the ropes and blasted him with a back elbow for a quick pin attempt. Santana kicked out and started to take over with some offense of his own after winning a shoulder tackle contest with Maclin.

Santana sent Maclin out to the floor at ringside. He built up momentum for a big suicide dive or splash over the ropes, but Maclin ran around the corner to take away the opportunity. Maclin caught Santana with a big clothesline on the floor before hitting an old Cactus Jack style elbow drop off the apron.

Maclin yelled at fans to “Kiss my ass!” before blasting Santana with a big chop and bringing him back into the ring for a pin attempt. Santana connected with a rolling buck-50 and then sends Maclin face-first into the canvas for another close pin attempt. Maclin fought back but ran into a super kick that sent him to the floor, where this time Santana hit a follow-up dive through the ropes.

On the floor, Maclin fights back and re-enters the ring with a dive of his own. The Rascalz’ Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz hit the ring out of nowhere shortly after that, attacking both guys and forcing the match to be thrown out. The duo leave Maclin and Santana laying to end the segment.

Backstage With Jody Threat & Dani Luna

The Spitfire duo of Jody Threat and Dani Luna are shown backstage. Luna is told she has a match. They agree to do whatever it takes to get back to the titles. After this wrapped up, the show went into another commercial break.

Mustafa Ali def. Leon Slater

Upon returning from the break, a TNA digital exclusive is shown to explain how the next match of the evening, pitting TNA X-Division Champion Mustafa Ali against Leon Slater. Ali is led to the ring by Champagne Singh. He settled in the ring as the commentators hype his title defense coming up at Against All Odds against Trent Seven.

Out next is his opponent, Leon Slater, who looked to be ready for his big opportunity. The bell got it started and an arrogant Ali immediately strutted around and played to the crowd before extending a handshake of friendship to Slater. Slater slapped the hand away and things got started from there.

Ali established the early offensive lead and then hit Slater with a blatant slap to the face in the corner. He walked into a drop kick moments later, which allowed Slater to take over on offense. He hit a nice Van Gogh-bow to Ali for a two-count.

On the floor, Slater sent Ali into the ropes off the entrance ramp, before he crashed onto the floor a few feet below. Slater hit a diving flip into a splash on Ali off the entrance ramp before the show went into a mid-match commercial break as the action continued.

After returning from the break, it was all Slater in the offensive driver’s seat, taking it to the longtime vet. He hit a beautiful cutter off the ropes and then the action spilled out to the floor. Ali sent Slater back-first into the barricade after getting some distraction help from Champagne Singh.

Back in the ring, the two traded roll-up attempts. Slater hit a big neck-breaker on Ali for a close two-count. Ali fought back and bounced Slater’s head off the ring post inside the ring. Ali followed up with the top-rope 450 splash for the win in a hard-fought battle.

Joe Hendry def. Eddie Edwards

Backstage, we see Moose on a rampage as he looks for “Broken” Matt Hardy. A video package airs to promote next week’s 20-year anniversary show with Jordynne Grace vs. Allysin Kay for the Knockouts title and Laredo Kid vs. AJ Francis for the Digital Media title.

Also scheduled is Gisele Shaw’s return and Speedball Mountain vs. Mustafa Ali & Champagne Singh as well as Kon vs. Jake Something. The commentators then ran down the lineup for TNA Against All Odds on June 14 in Chicago, Ill. They hyped their return to 2300 Arena and the Slammiversary 2024 pay-per-view.

The theme for The System hit and out came Eddie Edwards accompanied by Brian Myers. He settled in the ring and posed on the ropes in the corner as the show went into a pre-match commercial break. Upon returning, Joe Hendry’s catchy tune hits and he settled in the ring to loud “We Believe!” chants.

Hendry cut a quick pre-match promo and then the bell sounded to get the final match of the evening officially off-and-running. “We Believe!” chants again filled the Impact Zone in Cincy as Brian Myers gets on the apron before the two even touch.

Nic and Ryan Nemeth’s theme hits and out come the opponents for Edwards and Myers at Against All Odds. The commentators pointed out how The Nemeth’s refused to allow The System to cheat their way to victory tonight. They remained at ringside as the match got underway.

Hendry took the early offensive lead over Edwards, as the commentators questioned how one can stop Hendry-Mania. Hendry muscled Edwards up and held him for a delayed slam into a pin attempt. As Edwards started to fight back and take over control, focusing on the lower-back of Hendry, the main event cut to a mid-match commercial break.

Upon returning from the break, Edwards is shown yelling “Shut up!” at fans in the Impact Zone attempting to rally behind Hendry. Edwards chops Hendry down to size to kill his attempted offensive comeback. Edwards stops fighting in favor of taunting Hendry and adding insult to injury with wimpy slaps and head-shoves as he tried getting up.

The commentators remind the viewing audience at home that Moose is mysterious in his absence at ringside, as he is still rampaging around the building in search of “Broken” Matt Hardy. Meanwhile, Hendry hit a few back-to-back clotheslines and a fall-away slam to take over control of the action.

Edwards tried re-grouping at ringside with his fellow members of The System, but Hendry was having none of it, as he followed out behind him and continued to keep the pressure on him. He rolled Edwards back into the ring and then muscled him into the corner, following up with shoulder-shots to the stomach.

Hendry hits a Cutter coming off the ropes like a Bulldog-attempt for a close two-count. Fans break out into another “We Believe!” chant in support of Hendry as he continued looking for ways to finish off the larger Edwards. Edwards ran over Hendry with a big clothesline that shifted the momentum back in his favor.

Edwards looked to climb to the top-rope, but Hendry popped up and cut him off. Hendry climbed up after him, but Edwards headbutted him way down to the mat below. Hendry quickly scrambled back up and hoisted Edwards up from the middle rope for a Super-Fall Away Slam. He went for the cover, but only got two.

Eddie sat Hendry on the top turnbuckle and slapped the holy hell out of him, eliciting a collective gasp from the fans inside the Impact Zone. Edwards climbed up and connected with a super-plex, which he follows up with a Tiger Driver. He goes for the immediate cover, but somehow Hendry kicked out at two.

Another loud “We Believe!” chant from the fans brings some much-needed life back to Hendry. Hendry avoided a Boston Knee Party and countered with a Standing Ovation for the pin fall victory in an excellent main event to close out action inside the ring on this week’s show.

Moose Knocks Out “Broken” Matt Hardy To Close Out The Show

Backstage, Moose yells, “Matt, don’t be a coward. I’ve searched this whole building, I know you’re here!” ‘Broken’ Matt Hardy then appeared, claiming to be Moose’s destiny. The two broke out into a brawl, with Hardy yelling “Delete!” while landing some shots.

The TNA Champion got hold of a steel chair and went to work on the bread basket of Hardy. He stuck his head through the steel folding chair and ran him face-first into the garage door with authority. He grabs another chair and baseball swings it at the one around Hardy’s head. He leaves Hardy laid out snoring and walks off to end the show.

Steve Maclin officially re-signs with TNA Wrestling

TNA Wrestling has re-signed Steve Maclin.

Maclin said he re-signed with the company during the Rebellion pay-per-view on Saturday but TNA officially confirmed the news today.

“I have a lot of unfinished business here and plan to get back into the TNA World Championship picture,” Maclin said. “I’m very happy to call TNA home.”

Maclin announced at Rebellion that he negotiated a match on the pay-per-view as part of his new contract. Mike Santana then returned to the promotion and was revealed as his opponent. Santana then defeated Maclin with a discus lariat in 8 minutes and 10 seconds. Maclin didn’t wrestle on TNA’s TV tapings the following day.

He debuted for the promotion in June 2021 after having been released from WWE that February. He had been with WWE since 2014.

Maclin won the Impact World Championship at Rebellion 2023 last April and held it for two months until dropping it to Alex Shelley at Against All Odds.

Mike Santana makes surprise return at TNA Rebellion

For the first time since August 2019, Mike Santana is back in TNA Wrestling after both a surprise return and a victory at Saturday’s Rebellion pay-per-view.

Santana picked up a win over former TNA World Champion Steve Maclin in an impromptu bout, getting the win after his Spin The Block spinning clothesline to finish the hard-hitting match.

TNA has yet to formally announce Santana’s signing. News broke this past week that the former AEW wrestler was negotiating a per-date deal.

Maclin was in the ring with what he said was a brand-new contract and while the company met his demands, one of them for a match on the pay-per-view.

That brought out Santino Marella who said another superstar was signed with a new contract and was ready for a match as well. That brought out Santana through the Las Vegas crowd which led to the aforementioned match.

Santana was a four-time TNA Tag Team Champion alongside longtime, and now former, partner Ortiz. As part of the Latin American Exchange (LAX), the two spent the better part of three years in the company from 2017-2019 before departing for AEW. Santana and AEW parted ways earlier this year.

TNA had advertised a “lights out” surprise for the PPV, but since the lights didn’t actually go out for Santana’s intro, it’s unclear if another surprise is coming.
