Strap match announced for Impact Wrestling TV tapings

A stipulation match has been confirmed for this weekend’s Impact Wrestling television tapings in Memphis.

It was announced today that ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey) will face off against The Good Hands (John Skyler & Jason Hotch) in a strap match at night one of the Mid-South Mayhem tapings. The tapings are being held at Graceland Live on Friday, September 22 and Saturday, September 23.

Austin & Bey are former Impact Tag Team Champions, holding the titles from February to July of this year.

The Impact Tag Team titles are currently held by The Rascalz (Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz). They’re defending against Rich Swann & Sami Callihan at night one of the Memphis tapings.

Here’s everything that’s been announced for the two nights so far:

Night one (Friday, September 22) —

  • Impact Tag Team Champions The Rascalz (Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz) defend against Rich Swann & Sami Callihan
  • Memphis street fight: Tommy Dreamer & Heath vs. Kenny King & Sheldon Jean
  • “Speedball” Mike Bailey vs. Samuray Del Sol
  • Memphis strap match: ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey vs. The Good Hands (John Skyler & Jason Hotch)

Night two (Saturday, September 23) —

  • Trinity & Mickie James vs. Gisele Shaw & Savannah Evans
  • Josh Alexander vs. Yuya Uemura
  • “Speedball” Mike Bailey vs. Jonathan Gresham
  • Tasha Steelz vs. Killer Kelly

Two matches confirmed for Impact Emergence pre-show

Two pre-show matches were made official for Sunday’s Impact Emergence streaming special from Toronto, Canada.

Former X-Division Champion “Speedball” Mike Bailey will take on Alan Angels, formerly of The Design. These two initially hooked it up in Angels’ first-ever Impact bout in July 2022 after he had departed AEW. Bailey was champion at that time and picked up the win.

In a tag team bout, The Good Hands (Jason Hotch & John Skyler) battle former Digital Media Champion Joe Hendry & Yuya Uemura.

Here’s the full lineup for Sunday night’s event:

  • Impact Knockouts Champion Trinity defends against Deonna Purrazzo
  • Alex Shelley, KUSHIDA, Chris Sabin & Josh Alexander vs. Bully Ray, Moose, Brian Myers & Lio Rush
  • Impact Tag Team Champions Subculture (Flash Morgan Webster & Mark Andrews) defend against The Rascalz (Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz)
  • IWGP World Champion SANADA vs. Jake Something in a non-title match
  • Knockouts Tag Team Champions Masha Slamovich & Killer Kelly defend against Gisele Shaw & Savannah Evans, The Death Dollz (Jessicka & Courtney Rush), and The Coven (KiLynn King & Taylor Wilde)
  • Eric Young vs. Deaner in a no DQ match
  • Digital Media Champion Kenny King defends against Johnny Swinger
  • Back to School match: Eddie Edwards vs. Frankie Kazarian
  • Pre-show: Mike Bailey vs. Alan Angels

New tag team match added to Impact Wrestling

A new tag team bout has been added to Thursday’s Impact Wrestling on AXS TV as The Good Hands (John Skyler & Jason Hotch) will take on Decay (Crazzy Steve & Black Taurus).

There is no real backstory to the match other than both teams jostling in get into position for a future Tag Team title shot.

Skyler and Hotch will be looking for their first win in Impact as a team and are coming off a handicap match defeat to Frankie Kazarian several weeks ago. Conversely, Decay is in search of their first win since August of last year (0-4).

The match joins a lineup with two title matches already announced:

  • Knockouts Tag Team Champions The Coven (KiLynn King & Taylor Wilde) defend against Jordynne Grace & Deonna Purrazzo
