Ian Riccaboni and Caprice Coleman were on the call for this week’s Ring of Honor TV, with matches from the AEW Dynamite taping in Nashville, TN, and the AEW Collision taping in Lexington, KY.

The Dark Order (Alex Reynolds, Evil Uno & John Silver) defeated Dalton Castle & The Boys (Brandon & Brent)

Silver started this match by requesting a Boy, then gorilla pressing said Boy into the ropes. The Boys ganged up on Silver and Reynolds before Uno cut off Boy Brent from the outside. Dark Order singled out Brent as the commentators talked about the out-of-character underhanded tactics the Dark Order used.

Brent eventually got the tag into Castle, who flung the Dark Order about with suplexes before throwing Boys at them. Brent tagged in, but Uno sent Castle into him before Silver and Reynolds took out Castle on the floor. Silver and Reynolds cut off dives from the Boys, sending Brandon into the barricade. Dark Order then hit Brent with the Ragnarok to score the win.

Backstage, Lexy Nair was with Athena & Billie Starkz. Athena asked for this time to settle the tension she, and only she, saw between Lexy and Starkz. She made them friendship shirts before letting Starkz know that they would be teaming up to take on the Renegade Twins tonight.

Kiera Hogan defeated Lady Frost

Hogan challenged Frost to this match last week. They traded kicks before Frost sent Hogan to the floor with handspring boots. Hogan cut off Frost’s handstands by sweeping her down on the apron. Hogan hit an offensive combination that ended with a superkick for a nearfall. Frost avoided a corner charge and hit a high kick, then followed up with a cartwheel cannonball for a nearfall. Hogan then caught her with a twisting fisherman’s buster for the win.

Matt Sydal defeated Serpentico

Sydal quickly took Serpentico down and hit a twisting senton for a nearfall. Serpentico got his feet up on a corner charge and hit a headscissors, followed by a flatliner for a nearfall. Serpentico then hit a superkick before landing a DDT for a nearfall. Serpentico went to the top rope, but Sydal moved out of the way and hit a jumping back kick.

Sydal fired up and hit a fisherman’s buster for a nearfall. Sydal used a pair of flash pins for a nearfall before taking Serpentico off the top rope with a rana. Sydal hit the Lightning Spiral to score the win.

Backstage, Lexy Nair was with a slinged Stokely Hathaway. He talked about his tag team victory with Samoa Joe last week before noting his respect for Samoa Joe. Nair then told Hathaway that nobody respected him before leaving.

Leyla Hirsch defeated Leila Grey

These two clubbered on each other for a while before Maria Kanellis made her way to the stage. Hirsch held control until Grey fired up, hitting a rising knee and a Death Valley Driver for a nearfall. Hirsch hit a rough back suplex before locking on an armbar for the win.

Backstage, Lexy Nair was with Prince Nana & the Mogul Embassy. They’re defending the titles next week against Action Andretti, Darius Martin, and Lee Johnson next week. They all said that they were going to win.

Blake Christian defeated Brandon Cutler (w/Colt Cabana)

Christian kept Cutler off balance with his speed before catching him with a spinning headscissors. Cutler cut Christian off on the apron and shoved him into the post, but Christian spun around the post and hit a springboard dropkick that sent him to the floor. Christian followed it with a Fosbury Flop, but Cutler moved out of the way of a springboard 450 and hit a Michinoku Driver for a nearfall.

Cutler hit a trio of elbows before hitting an Airplane Spin on Christian. He made himself dizzy in the process, allowing Christian to hit a shoulder block to take him down. They traded kicks before Christian hit a Spanish Fly. Christian hit a Death Valley Driver and followed it with a superkick for a nearfall. Cutler hit a pumphandle slam before ripping off his track jacket and going for a Superman pin for a nearfall. Christian fired up and hit a handspring kick before hitting the springboard 450 for the win.

Lexy Nair was backstage with Tony Nese & Smart Mark Sterling. They complained about Jerry Lynn forcing Nese to wrestle instead of doing group training before chastising a nearby worker for drinking a soda.

Athena & Billie Starkz defeated The Renegades (Charlette & Robyn)

Starkz and Athena ducked an attack during the Code of Honor. Starkz got caught on a dive by both twins, with Athena hitting a cannonball onto the pile. The Renegades then isolated Starkz, hitting a double Fisherman’s Suplex for a nearfall. A lot of those on this show tonight.

The Renegades clubbered on Starkz for a while until she fought her way to a tag to Athena. Athena threw Starkz into a Renegade before powerbombing Starkz into both of them. Athena hit a reverse Alabama Slam on Starkz onto Charlette for a nearfall. The Renegades took Athena out of the ring before hitting a scary-looking double team on Starkz for a nearfall. They hit a double main event spinebuster on Athena for a nearfall.

Athena hit the knockout forearm before going up for the O-Face. Starkz tagged in as Athena jumped, then hit the Swanton Bomb on a Renegade to score the win in her hometown. Athena wasn’t happy and grabbed a retreating Renegade. She wanted Starkz to throw her into the title belt, but the other Renegade grabbed her sister and retreated.

ROH World Title Proving Ground Match – Claudio Castagnoli defeated Ryan Nemeth

Nemeth announced that tonight was Hunk Appreciation Night, leading the crowd in Thank You Hunk chants. He called out for anyone to fight, with Castagnoli making his way to the ring. Nemeth quickly tried to bail, noting that he didn’t think Castagnoli was there. But Castagnoli instead hit the Giant Swing – while still wearing the title belt around his waist – before hitting a big uppercut for the quick victory.

Before the main event, it was announced that Metalik would face the winner of tonight’s main event next week for the NJPW World TV Title.

NJPW World Television Title Match – Zack Sabre Jr. (c) defeated Christopher Daniels

This was Sabre’s 11th title defense.

Daniels had Sabre in a headlock, but Sabre escaped and hit a bicep stomp. He twisted the other arm before Daniels fought back with a pair of swinging neckbreakers. Daniels locked on a cravate before snapping the neck of Sabre. Daniels held control until Sabre locked on a guillotine, then quickly transitioned to an arm wringer.

Sabre hammerlocked Daniels’ arm before stomping on the arm, then worked on Daniels’ leg. Daniels got a big back suplex in after Sabre took a second to tend to his neck. Daniels fired up, hitting a Death Valley Driver for a nearfall. Sabre took Daniels down with a drop toe hold before going back to the arm with a bicep stomp.

Sabre went for a submission finish that Daniels fought off, hitting an STO for a nearfall. Daniels immediately transitioned into a Koji Clutch, but Sabre escaped by picking the bad ankle. Daniels cut off a submission attempt with a rollup, but Sabre was able to lock in a Rings of Saturn-style submission to win and retain the title.

More details emerge on CM Punk/Ryan Nemeth AEW Collision June confrontation

More details emerged throughout Monday regarding both a June confrontation between CM Punk and Ryan Nemeth, and Nemeth’s booked/unbooking from Saturday’s AEW Collision in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The following are a hybrid of reports from Dave Meltzer, PW Torch, Fightful and Haus of Wrestling.

Nemeth was brought into Greensboro on Saturday and then was told he wasn’t needed, given his itinerary to return home. That was on the same night a pre-taped promo Hangman Page was brought in for was moved offsite rather than being done at the building, reported by Meltzer.

Later in the night, Punk threw verbal jabs at Page and unnamed others in an off-air promo.

Meltzer said on Sunday’s Wrestling Observer Radio that other talents have experienced the same treatment regarding Saturday bookings including Matt Hardy and head of talent relations Christopher Daniels. Fightful reported Monday that Isiah Kassidy was also booked and then unbooked with Hardy, but that was not this past Saturday.

In Monday’s daily update, Meltzer wrote that the Punk camp is claiming they didn’t get Page or Hardy removed from recent Collision events which is disputed by others.

The Nemeth situation

The general gist, according to Haus of Wrestling’s Nick Hausman, is “Punk is looking to keep drama out of the Collision locker room” which is where the Nemeth tweet comes into the equation. PW Torch’s Wade Keller also wrote that Punk is trying to keep things harmonious on Saturdays as “he is fiercely protective of Collision being a low drama environment, which is why he doesn’t want wrestlers he perceives as disloyal or too closely aligned with The Elite crew to be backstage at Collision.”

The crux of the issues between Punk and Nemeth stem from Nemeth’s “literally the softest man alive” tweet which came after Punk’s return promo on the debut of Collision. According to Keller, the aforementioned confrontation between Punk and Nemeth took place on the June 21st Dynamite in Chicago that Punk made a surprise appearance on.

The stories reported by Keller and Hausman diverge in terms of the veracity of the conversation, but both reported the two men shook hands in the end.

The Torch reported Punk “angrily and aggressively” confronted Nemeth while getting right in his face and asking if they needed to step outside. The “awkward and weird” conversation moved from a locker room to a hallway where the talk continued. Nemeth felt Punk was the one who shot first with his “counterfeit bucks” line in his return promo while Punk’s issue was how the tweet added to the existing perceptions of problems between himself and the Young Bucks. Nemeth questioned whether he should comment on any things Punk says on AEW TV to which Punk suggested he shouldn’t.

Conversely, Haus of Wrestling’s report was that Punk asked Nemeth to call him “soft” to his face which Nemeth declined to do. Punk said he felt Nemeth’s tweet was to try to gain favor with the Young Bucks for more TV time. The report had them agree no violence was necessary with Punk asking Nemeth “to stop tweeting negative things so everyone could start moving on from the negativity” — not just specifically about him.

Fightful’s reporting had elements of both stories, adding that, “It was confirmed to us that Punk didn’t want Nemeth on Collision, even eating in catering, much less wrestling on the show. It wasn’t clarified to us if that was because of his tweet or the relationship with the Elite. “

The Torch also reported that wrestlers are uneasy to speak out about Punk given his favor with AEW owner Tony Khan. They reported that Khan chanted “CM Punk!” while in the gorilla position after Punk made his return to AEW on the first Collision.

“The feeling backstage among wrestlers not in a position of power with a big contract is to lay low when it comes to Punk because you don’t want to be on what is essentially his enemies list,” Keller wrote.

The report that Daniels had been asked to not be at Collision was also clarified by Haus of Wrestling who wrote the reason was his involvement in the post-All Out fight between Punk, Ace Steel, Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks. According to Hausman, Punk asked that Daniels not be allowed backstage at Collision since Steel, who is working as a remote employee, was not allowed to return at Collision.

Several wrestlers booked, sent home from past AEW Collision shows

Dave Meltzer is reporting that Hangman Page is not the only wrestler to have been booked and then asked to leave from recent AEW Collision shows.

Meltzer noted in Sunday’s Daily Update that Page had been booked to film a pre-tape interview for Dynamite at the Greensboro (North Carolina) Coliseum this past Saturday but when he arrived, Page was told they would have to do the segment away from the building.

Meltzer addressed the backstage issues in AEW further on Wrestling Observer Radio, stating that similar situations involving Matt Hardy and Christopher Daniels have occurred as well. He also confirmed a report from Fightful Select that Ryan Nemeth has been sent home from shows recently too.

While not explicitly stated by Meltzer, the common denominator is CM Punk who has had his issues with Page and addressed the former AEW World Champion in an off-air promo Saturday that did nothing to quell matters between them as his comments were not part of any angle.

“Everyone believes that it’s Punk. I’m sure that Tony (Khan) will say it’s not Punk, just like he did before,” Meltzer said.

Nemeth and Punk’s issues stem from Nemeth tweeting “Literally the softest man alive” following Punk’s return promo where he mockingly apologized to fans of The Elite where he said, “I am sorry that the only people softer than you are the wrestlers you like.” Nemeth has since deactivated his Twitter account.

“Punk confronts (Nemeth) on June 17th in Chicago his first night back,” Meltzer said on WOR. “Something happened. I was told it was all settled, it wasn’t a big deal. Obviously, it was not all settled.”

“What ends up happening because one’s a star and one is not a star is that Ryan Nemeth wasn’t booked after that point.

“For whatever reason, (Nemeth) was supposed to come back last night in Greensboro, came in and then was told – however the story goes – all of a sudden, people find out that he’s there and then he’s told not to go to the building after he was booked. So, he was never at the building, nobody saw him at the building but he was there.”

“Matt Hardy was booked on a Saturday, went there, and then was told not to go to the building after he got there. That was not last night, but Matt Hardy was one of them. Christopher Daniels, who had been working with Matt Sydal as a tag team in Ring of Honor, for whatever reason, same thing happened with him. He’s not supposed to go on Saturdays and he’s frickin’ head of talent relations. There may be others, but those are the ones that I know of that have been happening too,” Meltzer continued.

Nick Hausman is reporting that Nemeth and Daniels being sent home from Collision were a direct result of conflicts with Punk.

“Notably, Christopher Daniels’ involvement in the post-AEW All Out altercation was specifically portrayed to us as the reason The Fallen Angel is not at Collision,” Hausman wrote. “Since Ace Steel, Punk’s good friend, was also involved in the altercation but not allowed to return backstage for Collision, Punk is said to feel the same about Daniels and does not want him backstage either.”

As for Nemeth, Punk is said to feel that his “softest man alive” Tweet shows he is willing to unnecessarily cause drama backstage and Punk doesn’t want that at Collision tapings.

Commentary noted that Daniels’ eye had finally healed after having a bruise in the white of his eyes for months. Garcia hit his dance, leading to Daniels breaking out the Curry Man dance. What ever happened to that guy? Anyway, after Daniels sent Garcia into the turnbuckles a few times, Garcia vaulted Daniels to the floor to cut him off.

Big Bill & Lee Moriarty defeated The Boys (Brandon & Brent)

Big Bill looked fantastic here, throwing the Boys around like ragdolls.

Moriarty started with Brent, using his technical skills to control the match. A misdirection with a tag allowed the Boys to double-team Moriarty for a nearfall. Moriarty got a tag out to Big Bill, who neither Boy wanted to fight. Brent got on Brandon’s shoulders, only leading to Big Bill booting them down. Bill sent Brandon flying on a tornado DDT attempt, squashing him with a splash before booting Brent down.

Mark Briscoe came to the ring with a mic in his hand. He said that after talking with Tony Khan, Briscoe has been added to the match, making this a three-way dance. Mack hit a frog splash on Cage, but Nana grabbed Cage’s boot and put it on the ropes.

Continuing his push toward what he hopes is a shot at the Pure title, former champion Daniel Garcia will take on former Ring of Honor World Champion Christopher Daniels on this week’s ROH on HonorClub TV.

Garcia will be looking to extend a three-match win streak in ROH as he pursues a first-time-ever bout with reigning Pure Champion Katsuyori Shibata at this month’s Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view. Garcia held the title for three months before losing it to Wheeler Yuta.

AEW Dark results: Juice Robinson vs. Pat Buck

This week’s AEW Dark action was taped at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.

Juice Robinson defeated Pat Buck

This was the second AEW match for Buck, who is their vice president of talent development, and the first one that has been televised.

Buck and Robinson exchanged headlocks in the early stages. Buck got the upper hand after an armdrag, but Robinson then broke the hold and shoved Buck into the corner.

Robinson continued to work him down while playing to the crowd as the match went along. Buck then caught Robinson with a big powerslam out of nowhere for a near fall.

After a few more reversals, Robinson caught Buck with his signature Juice Is Loose DDT for the win.

The Renegades defeated Kiah Dream & Brittany J

Charlette Renegade and Brittany J started out and Charlette took her down with a clothesline before tagging out to Robyn Renegade. Robyn did minimal damage before tagging back out to Charlette who nailed J with a pump kick.

Dream entered off a hot tag, but immediately ran into a shotgun dropkick from Robyn. Moments later, the sisters hit Dream with a running assisted clothesline to pick up the victory.

Cole Karter defeated Hunter James

Karter took down James with both a shoulder tackle and clothesline early on. Karter continued to dominate, eventually hitting James with a swinging DDT to pick up the victory.

Iron Savages (w/ Jameson Ryan) defeated The TrustBusters (Jeeves Kay & Sonny Kiss)

Kay took out Bronson with a dive to the outside in the early going. After tossing him back in the ring, he then hit Bronson with a frog splash for a near fall.

Kay continued his momentum, hitting Bronson with a DDT after Sonny Kiss provided a distraction. Kiss and Boulder then entered the fray.

Boulder delivering a double flatliner to both Kay and Kiss. Kiss tried to get back on track with a backspring slap, but Boulder blocked it at the last second. Boulder then power bombed and powerslammed Kiss and Kay at the same time before tagging in Bronson.

Moments later, Boulder lifted up Bronson for an assisted splash onto Kiss to score the win.

Marina Shafir defeated Dream Girl Ellie

Ellie tried to apply a headlock, but Shafir backed herself in the corner and escaped. Ellie then applied a wrist lock and nailed Shafir with a few stiff kicks to the face before Shafir drove her into the mat with a hammerlock suplex. Moments later, Shafir submitted her with a combination arm/leg lock.

Jora Johl & Rohit Raju defeated Ariel Levy & Jarrett Diaz

Levy tried to showboat early on, but Johl delivered a suplex to take him out of the match. Diaz later showed some flashy moves before being taken out by a Raju flatliner. Moments later, Levy re-entered and was hit with a combination pump kick/knee from both Raju and Johl, giving them the win.

Christopher Daniels defeated Angelico

Daniels tied up his opponent with an arm submission. The hold quickly transitioned to the mat where Daniels remained in control of Angelico’s arm.

Angelico turned the tables on Daniels and started to focus on his ankle which Daniels evaded with a rope break. Angelico proceeded to drop Daniels on the mat with a suplex for a near fall. Daniels responded with a modified suplex from the second rope for a near fall of his own.

Angelico played possum after the pin and was able to bait Daniels into a STF type submission, but Daniels was once again able to break the hold with a rope break. Moments later, Daniels hit Angelico with his signature Angel’s Wings move out of nowhere to pick up the win.

Christopher Daniels: AEW/AAA relationship in ‘good position’ after meeting

The AAA/AEW relationship is still going strong.

In an interview with WrestlingInc, AEW Head of Talent Relations Christopher Daniels described the relationship as being in a “good position” right now, noting Tony Khan and Konnan recently had a meeting.

“Konnan and Tony Khan recently had a meeting and tried to suss all that out, and I feel like we’re in a good position,” Daniels said. “We’re in a good place right now, obviously, because I’m going to AAA to wrestle. So yeah, I feel like whatever miscommunications or misunderstandings, whatever that was, I feel like that’s in the past and we’re going to move forward and not dwell on that and try and be available. Each promotion is trying to be available for the other as its schedule permits.”

It has been reported that there had been problems between the two companies in recent months. Konnan on his podcast brought up problems that prevented Tay Melo and Sammy Guevara from making an appearance at AAA Noche de Campeones last year. As a result, the two were stripped of the AAA Mixed Tag Team titles.

AAA’s El Hijo del Vikingo is set to make his AEW debut on Wednesday’s Dynamite, facing off against Kenny Omega. The two were originally set to meet at a Triplemania event back in 2021, but the match was called off due to Omega taking time off to recover from injuries.

TNT Championship match set for AEW House Rules

A new match has been added to Saturday’s AEW house show in Ohio.

After Powerhouse Hobbs retained the TNT Championship on Rampage against Rey Fenix, it was announced on AEW’s Twitter account he would next defend the championship against Christopher Daniels at AEW’s House Rules even in Troy, Ohio.

“There is no rest for TNT Champ #PowerhouseHobbs after facing Rey Fenix on #AEWRampage, his Open Challenge has been answered by @facdaniels for #AEWHouseRules TOMORROW NIGHT in Troy, OH!,” the tweet reads.

Hobbs won the championship last week on AEW Dynamite, defeating Wardlow thanks to the help of QT Marshall. Marshall and Aaron Solo, who appeared on QTV with Marshall and Hobbs, were in the corner of Hobbs on Friday. After the match, Marshall dropped Fenix’s manager Alex Abrahantes with a diamond cutter.

AEW Dark Elevation results: Evil Uno vs. Lee Johnson

It’s Monday night and you know what that means: an episode of AEW Dark: Elevation taped last week at the Cow Palace in Daly City, CA, before Dynamite. Paul Wight and Matt Menard were on the call as usual.

This was another quick show with some matches that even had more stakes than usual, but except for Willow Nightingale and Athena, they didn’t really push anything forward.

Marina Shafir & Nyla Rose (w/ Vickie Guerrero) defeated J-Rod & Sandra Moone

J-Rod started with Shafir, but got dominated and had to leave quickly. Moone tagged in and called out Rose which went about as well as you would think. The heels double teamed Moone who eventually got the tag to J-Rod who then got hit with the assisted DDT by Rose for the quick win.

Brian Cage (w/ Prince Nana) defeated Rob McKnight

McKnight started with some chops that didn’t phase Cage who started curling McKnight like he was a big dumbbell. A few elbows by McKnight were his last bit of offense before Cage got him up for a power bomb. He then tied up his legs and stepped on his neck, getting a quick tap for the win.

Juice Robinson defeated Titus Alexander

Alexander, famous on the California indie scene, threw up his hand signs to start and Menard accused him of throwing up gang signs. Robinson won a strength contest and went for the early pin. When the count was two, he got in Aubrey Edwards’ face which was not received well.

Alexander missed a couple of dropkicks while Robinson was wasting time. Alexander got the heat back with a dropkick that finally hit and a German suplex bridge for a near fall. Robinson got the heat back and hit his face plant DDT for the win in a really good finish. The Juice really was loose. Put it on a shirt.

Skye Blue defeated Leila Grey

This show usually has all the quick jobber matches, but Blue was taking on one of The Baddies here tonight. Grey, who has been riding with TBS Champion Jade Cargill, started off well using her size. Blue hit a high knee in the corner and locked in a full nelson, but Grey hit a side slam for another near fall. Blue kicked out and hit a side superkick for the win.

Christopher Daniels defeated Cole Karter

This was another match that was more than just an enhancement match which I liked. The Cow Palace loved Daniels, of course. Karter looked strong with some high-octane offense, but he kept getting distracted by showing off to the crowd. A solid right hand got him a nearfall.

After a headlock, Daniels made his comeback by avoiding a suplex with his own German suplex. His own right hand and clothesline set up the finish, but Karter fought out and hit a sitout powerslam. Karter missed on a top rope move, leading to Daniels going up top and hitting the Best Moonsault Ever for the win.

ROH Women’s Champion Athena defeated Brooke Havok in a Proving Ground match

This is ROH’s version of a title eliminator match where if Havok beat Athena or made it to the time limit, she earns a title shot. Havok tried to get the crowd on her side by staying on top of Athena, but Athena caught her off the ropes and hit a brutal Rock Bottom. After a kick out at two, she drove Havok’s head into the mat with multiple power bombs. After that, she locked in a crossface and ended the match quickly.

Athena went to drive Havok’s head into the belt as she does with everyone, but Willow Nightingale ran out. Before she could get to the ring, Athena still went through with it and ran away. She even did a little jig to Nightingale’s music to further taunt her.

Lance Archer defeated Jack Banning

Archer’s music hit and he ran out with some poor guy in his hands, tossing him like a football down the ramp. Right when he got in the ring, he ran over Banning and continued with his entrance. Banning was smiling after to which the Murderhawk Monster did not take kindly to. Archer kept up the punishment and took offense that Banning was still alive. Banning actually started landing a few kicks and even slapped Archer in the face.

When he went for a move off the top rope, Archer caught him in the air and hit a power bomb, followed by a clothesline while screaming “Everybody dies!” This was an easy win for Archer.

Evil Uno defeated Lee Johnson (w/ Cole Karter)

Johnson came out with Karter, who was still holding his midsection from his match earlier. Uno surprisingly came out by himself, which commentary was quick to point out.

Right before the bell rang, Karter held the foot of Uno for Johnson to attack, but it didn’t quite work out. Uno hit Johnson with some chops and when he tried to escape, he just joined him on the outside and ran him over.

Karter tried to get involved again, but Uno had a right hand for him, too. However, this was distraction enough for Johnson to hit his own chops. Karter was constantly getting involved whenever the referee wasn’t looking. Uno couldn’t stay out for long as he hit a whopper of a clothesline that sent Johnson flying. Wight even referenced Clubber Lang from Rocky III, it hit so hard.

Uno set up a senton from the top rope for a near fall. Johnson kicked out and tried his own top rope move, but Uno caught him and hit a piledriver for the win.
