Updated TNA Genesis card, Tessa Blanchard vs. Jordynne Grace official

The card for the Sunday, January 19 TNA Genesis pay-per-view continues to take shape following this week’s Impact.

One of four new matches set for the card is Tessa Blanchard facing Jordynne Grace, a bout added during Thursday’s Impact episode following a pull-apart in the ring between Blanchard and Grace. It will be the first TNA match for Blanchard since 2020, when she left the promotion as its World Champion without dropping the title in the ring.

A grudge match between Mike Santana and Josh Alexander is also newly-announced for the January 19 Genesis PPV. Santana faced Alexander and his Northern Armory in a gauntlet match on Impact that was ruled a no contest after Northern Armory all attacked Santana at once.

Masha Slamovich will defend the Knockouts World Championship against Rosemary in a Clockwork Orange House of Fun match at Genesis as suggested by TNA Hall of Famer Raven in his surprise Impact appearance.

The TNA Knockouts Tag Team titles will also be on the line on January 19, with Spitfire’s Jody Threat and Dani Luna defending against Ash by Elegance and Heather by Elegance.

X-Division Champion Moose has also revealed that he will debut a new title belt to represent the Championship at Genesis.

The updated lineup for Genesis:

TNA Genesis, Sunday, January 19 —

  • TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth defends against Joe Hendry
  • Tessa Blanchard vs. Jordynne Grace
  • TNA Tag Team Champions The Hardys (Matt & Jeff Hardy) defend against The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz & Trey Miguel)
  • TNA X-Division Champion Moose defends against Ace Austin
  • Clockwork Orange House of Fun match: TNA Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich defends against Rosemary
  • Mike Santana vs. Josh Alexander
  • TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions Jody Threat & Dani Luna defend against Ash by Elegance & Heather by Elegance

Raven makes surprise TNA Impact appearance

TNA Wrestling Hall of Famer Raven made a surprise appearance on Thursday’s Impact.

The 2022 TNA Hall of Famer appeared on Thursday’s Impact in a vignette with Rosemary, who will challenge for the TNA Knockouts World Championship at Genesis against Masha Slamovich on January 19.

In the vignette, Raven suggested a Clockwork Orange House of Fun stipulation for the Knockouts title match at Genesis, which Rosemary heartily accepted. The stipulation was made official later in the program.

Rosemary held a knife to Raven’s neck during the vignette, with the Hall of Famer playing it off as though he was turned on by the entire situation.

Raven regularly wrestled for TNA between 2003 and 2010, including capturing the then-NWA-TNA World Championship in June 2005.

Real name Scott Levy, the 60-year-old Raven’s career spans more than 35 years, with multiple stops in WWF/WWE, WCW, and ECW. He has wrestled sparingly since 2018, the year of his last singles match.

TNA Impact live results: Joe Hendry & Rhino vs. Nic & Ryan Nemeth

As the build to their World title match at Genesis continues, TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth and Joe Hendry will be on opposite sides of the ring tonight on Impact.

Nemeth will team with brother Ryan against Hendry and Rhino in the headliner, made after last week’s show when Ryan attempted to hit Rhino with a chair which escalated into a backstage confrontation.

In a gauntlet match, Mike Santana will attempt to fight through all three members of the Northern Armory: Josh Alexander, Judas Icarus and Travis Williams.

In a key tag team division match, The Rascalz (Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz) will face The Good Hands (Jason Hotch & John Skyler).

After getting jumped again last week by Tessa Blanchard, Jordynne Grace will share some thoughts.

In a trios bout, The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers & JDC) will take on Eric Young, Steve Maclin & Jonathan Gresham.

Savannah Evans will be in action against an opponent to be named.

**********
Steve Maclin, Eric Young & Jonathan Gresham defeated The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers & JDC)

Inside the Impact Zone, Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt welcome us to the show as the familiar sounds of The System’s theme music hits the house speakers. Alisha Edwards leads out the three-man team of JDC, Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers.

After the heel trio settles inside the squared circle, their music dies down and Eric Young’s entrance tune plays. He comes out and stops, and then Jonathan Gresham comes out and joins him. Their partner, Steve Maclin, is out next and the three head to the ring for our opening contest.

As soon as the bell sounds, Edwards gets the quick offensive jump on Gresham. He blasts him with some stiff forearm shots and beats him down in the corner. He whips him into the opposing corner and charges at him, but runs into a big boot from Gresham.

Gresham takes over on offense and puts the boots to a grounded Edwards in the corner, before tagging Young in. Edwards quickly shifts the momentum back in The System’s favor, taking it to Young and eventually tagging in Myers.

Myers picks up where Edwards left off, but runs into a dropkick from Young that once again sees the offensive momentum swing to the other side. Young gets in some offense on Myers on the floor, but Alisha gets involved with a distraction, which allows The System to take over once again.

JDC tags in and goes to work as the legal man in the ring with the softened up Young. He isolates the arm of Young and focuses his attack on the limb. He brings him into The System corner and tags Edwards back in. The two hit some double-team stomps and then Edwards takes back over.

Maclin and Young butt heads at one point, and Gresham attempts to play peacemaker. After the chaos calms down a bit, Maclin ends up as the legal man in the ring with JDC. He hits his K.I.A. finisher on The System member for the pinfall victory.

Once the match wraps up, The System attack the trio with chairs. After beating down Young and Maclin in the ring, they put the chair over Gresham’s head on the floor and run him into the steel ring post. They all pose and taunt the booing crowd until Young and Maclin run them off with chairs of their own.

The Story Of Joe Hendry

After the opening match wraps up, Hannifan and Rehwoldt talk about Joe Hendry earning the next shot at “The Wanted Man” Nic Nemeth for the TNA World Championship at the upcoming TNA Genesis 2025 pay-per-view later this month.

A very elaborate, documentary-style video package airs with Joe Hendry telling the story of his emergence on the scene in the pro wrestling business, from a young lad in Scotland with a dream and some hustle, all the way to his present day spot as the number one contender for the top prize in TNA Wrestling.

Once the video promoting Joe Hendry’s side of the equation for the next TNA PPV main event, the show heads into a commercial break.

Lei Ying Lee defeated Savannah Evans

Savannah Evans makes her way out and heads to the ring as we return from the break. Xia Brookside comes out and simply says, “Watch this.” We see footage from TNA Turning Point, where Brookside points out she had her beat until she was screwed.

She mentioned getting injured, and noted someone else did to, and that person is ready to get her revenge on Evans right now. The lights go out. The theme for Lei Ying Lee hits and out comes the former WWE Superstar previously known as Xia Li.

She hits the ring and goes right after the monstrous Evans, taking it to her straight out of the gate. Lee brings Evans out to the floor and hits a running cannonball off the apron for a big crowd pop. Back inside the ring, Lee hits a high spot off the ropes for a close two-count.

As the action continues, Evans gets in some offense of her own for the first time in the bout. Her run in control of the offense isn’t long-lived, however, and Lee ultimately takes back over moments later and finishes Evans off for the victory in her big return appearance.

Jordynne Grace With A Brief, But Stern Message For Tessa Blanchard

Once the Knockouts action in the ring wraps up, we shoot backstage. Gia Miller is standing by and about to introduce her guest, but before she can say much of anything, Jordynne Grace snatches the microphone out of her hand.

“The Juggernaut” leans directly into the camera shot and bluntly states, “Tessa, if you want to fight, let’s fight, b*tch! I’ll be in the ring later, meet me there.” After this brief but to-the-point backstage interview segment wraps up, the show heads into another commercial break.

TNA+ Moment Of The Week: Kurt Angle vs. Jeff Jarrett (TNA Genesis 2009)

The show returns directly into a “TNA+ Moment of the Week” segment, which features an extended look at the TNA Genesis 2009 pay-per-view bout between Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett.

The annual TNA Genesis show returns later this month, with TNA Genesis 2025 scheduled for January 19 at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas, featuring Nic Nemeth vs. Joe Hendry for the TNA World Championship.

Gauntlet Match No. 1: Mike Santana defeated Judas Icarus

A brief video package airs with Rosemary sending a message to Masha Slamovich, making it clear that she’s still got her sights set on the TNA Knockouts Championship. Once this wraps up, we return inside the Impact Zone for the next match of the evening.

Mike Santana’s theme song hits and the fan-favorite makes his way to the ring for his advertised one-night Gauntlet against Josh Alexander and The Northern Armory. Out next are The Northern Armory duo of Judas Icarus and Travis Williams. No sign of Josh Alexander yet.

The bell sounds and the first of three potential matches in a row gets underway. Santana gets the early and dominant jump on offense, taking it to one-half of the Sinner & Saint duo with relative ease. Within all of two minutes, Santana takes him out with Spin The Block for the win.

Gauntlet Match No. 2: Mike Santana defeated Travis Williams

Santana remains in the ring and waits to see who will be joining him for his second of three potential consecutive bouts. With no “Walking Weapon” in sight yet, it is Travis Williams who steps inside the squared circle.

The bell sounds and Santana’s second Gauntlet match gets underway. Santana gets the early offensive advantage over Williams, but Williams shifts the momentum after a minute or so. As things continue, the show heads into a mid-match commercial break.

When the show returns, it isn’t long before Santana dumps Williams on his dome and begins a fired-up offensive comeback. Moments later he finishes off The Northern Armory member, leaving only one more opponent.

Gauntlet Match No. 3: Mike Santana defeated Josh Alexander via Disqualification

The theme for Josh Alexander hits and out comes “The Walking Weapon.” Before Santana can do anything, he is sneak-attacked and ambushed by Alexander and The Northern Armory duo of Icarus and Williams.

The trio beat Santana down, with Alexander leaving him laying after a C4 Spike. Fans chant “You look stupid!” as The Northern Armory stands over the laid out Santana in the middle of the ring.

George Iceman Announces Pre-Launch Of ‘Championship Celebration Of Elegance’

Backstage, the personal concierge of Ash by Elegance, George Iceman, is shown. He talks directly into the camera to make a brief announcement.

“Something huge, something special that the whole world is going to want to see,” Iceman said. “I’m going to do something unprecedented. Something that takes guts. Something no one in the history of this company has ever done.”

He added, “I see Heather and Ash By Elegance as TNA Knockouts Tag-Team Champions. Next week, in front of the entire world, we’re going to do a pre-launch of ‘The Championship Celebration of Elegance.'” We head to another commercial break.

Raven Convinces Rosemary To Have Clockwork Orange House Of Fun Match

When the show returns, Rosemary is shown backstage talking in trademark sadistic fashion about how she is coming for TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich.

As she continues talking in her demented-style, in walks pro wrestling legend Raven. Raven and Rosemary talk briefly before Rosemary grabs him and puts a knife to his throat. Raven calmly suggests to her to drag Slamovich into a Clockwork Orange House of Fun match. Rosemary likes that idea.

The Rascalz (Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz) defeated The Good Hands (John Skyler & Jason Hotch)

Back inside the Impact Zone, The Good Hands team of John Skyler and Jason Hotch come out with a microphone in-hand. They do their usual “Ravishing” Rick Rude entrance routine, complete with the “city-name sweat-hogs” insults.

The popular duo of The Rascalz, Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz, descend from their treehouse to make their way out to the ring next. The crowd gives them a big pop coming out. The commentators mention The Rascalz challenging The Hardys for the tag titles at TNA Genesis 2025.

After the bell sounds, we see The Rascalz get off to the early offensive start. It doesn’t last long, however, as Wentz ends up isolated in the ring while Hotch and Skyler take turns utilizing frequent tags and brief spurts of double-team offense.

Miguel finally gets the much-needed tag and helps The Rascalz shift the offensive momentum back into their favor. They cruise from their en route to a victory, with the super-kick and spinebuster “Feed him to the lions” combo-finisher for the pinfall.

Frankie Kazarian Approaches Rhino Backstage

Following the tag-team tilt, we shoot backstage where Rhino is shown taping his wrists up ahead of his match alongside Joe Hendry against the team of TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth and his brother Ryan Nemeth.

Frankie Kazarian walks up and makes an arrogant comment, making it clear he’ll be watching the main event tag-team bout closely. After this brief backstage interaction wraps up, the show heads into another commercial break.

Moose defeated Andrew Everett to retain the TNA X-Division Championship

When the show returns, we see a quick backstage promo from Eric Young and Steve Maclin, who make a declaration of war against The System. We then return inside the Impact Zone to the single most annoying sound in the world.

“Do you wanna know something?” The line annoyingly yapped by the screechy voice of The System’s Alisha Edwards is, as always, repeated over-and-over-and-over again to growing boos from the crowd in attendance. Moose is then heard and he joins her in the ring.

Moose boasts being the greatest X-Division Champion of all-time and the face of the company. After he rambles on for a while, including a vow to debut a new TNA X-Division Championship belt at TNA Genesis 2025, he is cut off by, of all people, Andrew Everett. He makes his way to the ring and takes issue with Moose claiming credit for any kind of X-Division history.

Everett claims he is a true X-Division competitor, before Moose warns him that one more word is going to get his ass kicked. Everett does not head Moose’s warnings, and gets a big bright yellow sneaker to the grill for it. Moose then tells Everett he just earned himself an impromptu X-Division title shot.

Moose demands a referee get out to the ring. In his street clothes and aforementioned super bright yellow sneakers, The System leader proceeds to lay a beatdown on Everett, as his challenger at TNA Genesis 2025, Ace Austin, is shown watching on a monitor backstage. Moose gets the win and we head to another commercial break.

Santino Marella Approached By Sami Callihan, Makes Announcement

Backstage, we see Santino Marella looking at his phone when he is approached by Sami Callihan. Callihan brings up the TNA Tag-Team Championship picture and the upcoming bout between The Hardys and The Rascalz at TNA Genesis 2025.

Callihan mentions how he and PCO have never been pinned or submitted as a team. Santino offers Callihan and PCO a match against The Hardys next week. If they win, they’ll be added to The Hardys vs. The Rascalz for the TNA Tag-Team Championships at TNA Genesis 2025.

Jordynne Grace, Tessa Blanchard Wild Pull-Apart Brawl

Back inside the Impact Zone, Jordynne Grace walks to the ring and looks all-business. She gets on the microphone and mentions the name of Tessa Blanchard. She says Blanchard should be terrified of what she could say right now.

Instead, she offers Blanchard the same opportunity she’d offer anyone, which is to come to the ring face-to-face so she can say it directly to her. Tessa hits the ring from off-camera, and Grace appears ready for her. Grace begins drilling Blanchard with shots, but Blanchard lands a big kick that momentarily drops “The Juggernaut.”

Blanchard and Grace roll around and fight as officials swarm the ring and ultimately break them up while fans are loudly chanting “Let them fight! Let them fight!” The show heads to another commercial break on that note.

Joe Hendry & Rhino defeated Nic Nemeth & Ryan Nemeth

It’s main event time!

But first, Hannifan and Rehwoldt appear on-camera to make some announcements for matches on next week’s TNA iMPACT (see below), as well as TNA Genesis 2025.

Added to the PPV coming up on Jan. 19 in Garland, TX. is Jordynne Grace vs. Tessa Blanchard, Mike Santana vs. Josh Alexander, Rosemary vs. Masha Slamovich in a Clockwork Orange House of Fun match for the TNA Knockouts title, as well as Ash & Heather By Elegance vs. Spitfire duo Jody Threat & Dani Luna for the TNA Knockouts tag-team titles.

Inside the Impact Zone, we hear the familiar sounds of TNA Hall of Fame legend Rhino’s theme music. This brings out the master of the Gore to the ring for our final match of the evening. His popular partner, Joe Hendry, makes his way out next to a big crowd response.

Ryan Nemeth and then his big brother, TNA World Champion “The Wanted Man” Nic Nemeth, make their respective ring entrances next. The show heads into a quick commercial break before this one gets started. When the show returns, Ryan and Rhino kick things off for their respective teams.

Frankie Kazarian is on special guest commentary for this one. It isn’t long at all before Ryan changes his mind, and reaches over to tag in big brother to deal with “The Man Beast.” Nemeth does exactly that, and ends up enjoying some early offensive control.

Hendry and Ryan end up as the legal men in the ring, and Hendry does his trademark super-stalled walk-around suplex spot. He continues firing up the crowd with the stomp-stomp-clap “We will rock you!” Queen beat, as he looks to finish off Ryan.

He goes for a close pinfall attempt moments later, which Nic hits the ring to break up just in time. After some more chaos ensues, Hendry starts to pick up the momentum some more. All four guys end up in the ring brawling.

When Nic and Rhino powder out, Hendry finishes Ryan off with the Standing Ovation for the win. Hendry’s theme hits and he plays to the crowd. The final shot of the episode sees a disappointed Nemeth looking at Hendry from outside of the ring, as Hendry continues his side-to-side wave routine along with his theme while wearing an ear-to-ear grin.

Next Week:
* Trent Seven vs. Leon Slater
* Laredo Kid vs. Jake Something
* Sami Callihan & PCO vs. The Hardys
* Eric Young & Steve Maclin vs. First Class (AJ Francis & KC Navarro)
* ‘The Championship Celebration Of Elegance” Pre-Launch with Ash & Heather by Elegance

Jeff Hardy believes he could have been ‘bigger than John Cena’

During a recent interview, Jeff Hardy discussed how his career might have turned out differently had he taken better care of himself when he was younger.

The 47-year-old was on Dallas television this morning promoting TNA’s TV tapings at the Curtis Culwell Center later this month. Jeff said if he had lived his life differently when he was younger, he could have been “bigger than John Cena.”

Jeff Hardy said:

“The way I was living life in my 20s and 30s, and if I was living life the way I’m living life now, oh my gosh, there’s no telling. I would probably be bigger than John Cena today because I was born with such a gift to be a pro wrestler. It just felt so natural and like I was totally created to do this thing. And the cool thing about that is I’m still here. I still have life, and I feel good.”

Jeff says that he and his brother have been taking better care of themselves physically of late. He specifically mentioned ice baths as something that has been beneficial for him.

“As Matt had mentioned, we’re big ice baths, and that’s been crazy beneficial for me mentally and physically. So yeah, I don’t put a number on it. I’ll just pretty much wrestle until I can’t wrestle anymore.”

Matt and Jeff Hardy are the current TNA World Tag Team Champions, having won the belts at Bound for Glory in October. They defeated The System’s Brian Myers and Eddie Edwards in a Table Match at Final Resolution last month and filmed a match against Sami Callihan and PCO at the following night’s tapings that has yet to air on TNA Impact. They are scheduled to defend their titles at TNA Genesis on January 19 against Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz, The Rascalz.

TNA Wrestling re-signs Ash By Elegance, Masha Slamovich & John Skyler

TNA Wrestling has announced it has re-signed three members of its roster.

Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich, Ash by Elegance (FKA as WWE’s Dana Brooke) and John Skyler have all agreed to new deals. News of the signings was first reported by Fightful and confirmed by TNA Wrestling on Monday.

Slamovich first debuted for TNA In 2019 but became a regular beginning in early 2022. She defeated Jordynne Grace to win the Knockouts belt at Bound for Glory in October and most recently defended it successfully against Tasha Steelz at Final Resolution.

Ash By Elegance signed with TNA last January and debuted at Hard to Kill. In the past year with the company, she has feuded over the Knockouts title with Jordynne Grace, and brought on Heather Reckless as a mentee. Reckless is now known as Heather by Elegance in the promotion.

John Skyler has been a regular with the promotion since 2021. He is one-half of The Good Hands along with Jason Hotch.

Five matches announced for next week’s TNA Impact

TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth will team with his brother Ryan on next week’s Impact.

After a Ryan Nemeth vs. Rhino match ended in a disqualification on this week’s episode, a tag match was booked for next week with both Nemeths getting a chance to tangle with their nemeses, as it will be Nic & Ryan vs. Rhino & Joe Hendry.

Hendry will challenge Nic for the TNA World title at Genesis on Sunday, January 19.

Four more bouts are also set for the Thursday, January 9 TNA Impact.

After a confrontation with the Northern Armory on this week’s episode, Mike Santana will face Josh Alexander, Sinner, and Saint in a gauntlet match on next week’s show.

In a tune-up for their Tag Team title challenge at Genesis, Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz of The Rascalz will take on The Good Hands (John Skyler & Jason Hotch) next week. The Hardys challenged The Rascalz for Genesis on this week’s show.

After a backstage brawl this week, The System will take on Jonathan Gresham, Steve Maclin, and Eric Young in a trios bout on the January 9 episode.

Two title matches added to TNA Genesis

Two new title bouts are set for the TNA Genesis pay-per-view on Sunday, January 19.

In a first-ever meeting, The Hardys will defend their TNA Tag Team Championship against Zachary Wentz and Trey Miguel of The Rascalz.

In an unorthodox segment on Thursday’s TNA Impact episode, Matt and Jeff Hardy crashed a backstage promo segment with The Rascalz and challenged the duo to be their challengers for Genesis, noting how much The Rascalz remind them of themselves:

In another new title match set for January 19 in Dallas, Moose will put the X-Division title on the line against Ace Austin.

Austin initially cut a promo on Impact indicating that he was going to challenge for the World title:

After an intense promo exchange with the interrupting Champion and the challenger that invoked Austin’s injured tag partner Chris Bey, Marella made Moose vs. Austin official for Genesis:

Already set for Genesis is Nic Nemeth defending the TNA World title against Joe Hendry.

The updated card for the Sunday, January 19 TNA Genesis pay-per-view:

  • TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth defends against Joe Hendry

TNA Impact live results: Tessa Blanchard returns, eight-woman tag team match

While tonight’s TNA Impact doesn’t have a lot of pre-announced in-ring action, a litany of the company’s stars will be on the show.

In an eight-woman tag team bout, Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich, Jordynne Grace and Knockouts World Tag Team Champions Spitfire will take on Rosemary, Tasha Steelz, and Ash & Heather By Elegance.

After making her surprise return at December’s Final Resolution to attack Grace, former World Champion Tessa Blanchard has said she will be seen tonight. Grace is also scheduled to share some thoughts, likely about Blanchard.

TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth will make an appearance ahead of his title defense against Joe Hendry who will also appear on tonight’s show.

In an X-Division match, Ace Austin will take on KUSHIDA while Ryan Nemeth goes one-on-one with Rhino. In both cases, the match features an individual who is no longer with the company.

The main card is rounded out by Mike Santana having something to say ahead of this month’s Genesis.

**********
An “In memory of” graphic for Jax Dane airs to kick things off. Highlights of TNA Final Resolution 2024 are shown, and then we see arrival shots of the team of Jordynne Grace, Masha Slamovich and Spitfire.

Joe Hendry Kicks Off 2025 For TNA

As advertised, the familiar sounds of Joe Hendry’s viral hit theme song plays. The number one contender for the TNA World Championship and opponent for reigning title-holder Nic Nemeth at TNA Genesis 2025, Joe Hendry, makes his way to the ring to kick off tonight’s show, and 2025 in general for TNA.

“Say his name, and he appears,” is the opening line for arguably TNA’s most popular star. Hendry says his New Year’s Resolution for 2025 is to become TNA World Champion, and the start of “The Joe Hendry Era.” He vows to win the title at TNA Genesis 2025.

Hendry leads fans in a “We believe!” chant. As he talks about his plans to leave TNA Genesis 2025 with the title, he is interrupted by the theme of Ryan Nemeth. The brother of TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth makes his way to the ring.

Ryan Nemeth gets on the mic and says his big brother is not going to like this. He tells Hendry he’s not a main-eventer. He’s a mid-carder. “A pretty good one, too!” He also calls him a snake and a backstabber who plays macho head games to try and get ahead in TNA. He says he nor Nic trust him.

Hendry admires Ryan’s ability to come out here and “tell these little stories.” He asks who wants to hear a little story of his own. He talks about going to the doctor due to sleep issues. He can’t sleep on his long flights. The doctor says he’s got just the thing.

“Have you ever heard of the Ryan Nemeth comedy special?” He says after ten seconds, he was out like a light. He says if he’s a mid-carder, Ryan is a janitor. “So go mop that floor, and get Joe Hendry a coffee.” Fans chant “Coffee! Coffee!”

He says this main-eventer has business to attend to, so it’s enough stealing TV time for Ryan Nemeth. Hendry says that’s enough glory for Ryan. Ryan says he’ll get all the glory he needs when he beats the Hall of Famer Rhino later. He tells Hendry he can sit front row when it happens later. Hendry asks if he said “later?” He asks who wants to see it right now. The fans pop. He says “in that case, play the music.”

Ryan Nemeth defeated Rhino via Disqualification

The “Gore! Gore!” theme hits and out comes TNA Hall of Fame legend Rhino. As he heads to the ring for our first match of the evening, the show heads into a quick pre-match commercial break. When the show returns, the bell sounds to start things off.

Nemeth tries begging off with a handshake offer early on, but it does him no good, as Rhino takes the early lead. Nemeth fights back into competitive form, until Rhino hits a big TKO for a close two-count. Nemeth grabs a chair from outside of the ring and brings it in.

Rhino blasts Nemeth before he can use it. Nemeth drops the chair, Rhino picks it up and takes a long look at it. Nemeth crawls back up and as he does, Rhino whacks him across the back with the chair. The referee calls for the bell. Nemeth wins via disqualification.

Gia Miller Interviews Jordynne Grace

Backstage, Gia Miller is standing by with Jordynne Grace. She asks “The Juggernaut” about being attacked by the returning Tessa Blanchard at TNA Final Resolution. Grace talks about Tessa “taking her ball” and going home.

She says now she’s trying to return and lay-claim to the leader of the locker room, and reap the benefits off of the backs of the hard work she and others put in while Tessa was gone. She says she knows she’s “the same old Tessa.”

She vows to wait by the door all night to give Tessa the “nice, warm welcome she truly deserves.” That wraps up the brief backstage interview. Tom Hannifan runs down the action still to come before the show heads into another commercial time out.

The Rascalz & The Hardys Will Do Battle For Gold At TNA Genesis

The show returns to The Rascalz duo of Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz talking about The Hardys holding the TNA World Tag-Team Champions. They call them legends and talk about growing up doing swanton bombs off of their couches. They ask what fans think about The Rascalz vs. The Hardys for the titles.

After they finish, The Hardys themselves walk up. Matt Hardy says the two remind them of themselves. He calls them talented, good looking, hungry, extreme and fearless. He mentions a big show called TNA Genesis coming up in Texas later this month.

He thinks a big show like that deserves a big match like this. The Rascalz claim they’ll tear the roof off the place. “Smoke ’em if you got ’em!” They pose together to end the newsworthy backstage segment.

Ace Austin defeated KUSHIDA

Inside the Impact Zone, the familiar sounds of KUSHIDA’s entrance tune plays. After he settles in the ring, the ABC theme hits and Ace Austin cartwheels his way out of the entrance tunnel. He heads to the ring for our next match of the evening as Hannifan and Matt Rehwoldt talk about Austin beating Trent Seven at TNA Final Resolution.

The bell sounds to get this one officially off-and-running. Hannifan plugs the Help Support Chris Bey efforts at TNAWrestling.com/Bey. The two lock-up and KUSHIDA takes Austin’s back and ankle picks him. He spins around him like Brock Lesnar on Frank Mir in his UFC debut many moons ago.

Austin scrambles back to his feet and takes a breather on the top turnbuckle before re-engaging. KUSHIDA and Austin end up on the mat again, with KUSHIDA looking to attack the legs of Austin with submission attempts.

Following a long head scissor hold, the two scramble back to their feet again, where Austin connects with a big drop kick. KUSHIDA fights back and locks in a vicious cross arm-breaker on Austin on the hard part of the ring apron outside of the ring ropes.

They fall out to the floor as the show heads into a mid-match break. When the show returns, Austin is selling his arm as he makes a big fired up offensive comeback. He looks for an homage to Chris Bey with an Art of Finesse, but KUSHIDA avoided it.

Off the top-rope, KUSHIDA once again traps Austin in a straight armbar on the mat. He transitions to a triangle attempt, but Austin escapes. Austin goes for the Art of Finesse again, but once more KUSHIDA blocks it and counters with a dropkick.

He looks for Back to the Future, but Austin avoids it and connects with a spin kick of his own. Austin follows up with the Ace up his Sleeve for the pinfall victory in an absolute thriller.

Moose & Ace Austin To Do Battle For Gold At TNA Genesis

Austin gets on the mic and says every day Chris Bey fights for a better life, and he fights for him in the ring. He talks about Bey with tears in his eyes before surgery saying his situation means Austin has to go on a crazy singles run and win the big one for him.

He talks about being a top guy in the company for a long time. He thinks it’s time he becomes “the” top guy for “the” top title. He says he wants Nic Nemeth and the TNA World Championship. Instead, he is cut off by the familiar sounds of the entrance tune for the TNA X-Division Champion Moose.

Moose says the TNA X-Division Championship is the flagship title in TNA. Without it, TNA wouldn’t be what it is. He calls himself “The Franchise” of TNA and what makes it the hottest wrestling company on the planet right now. Moose says when Austin talks about going after the top title, Moose is holding onto the top title.

He says Austin is scared of him. “So go ahead, take the easy way out and go ahead and go after Nic Nemeth and the TNA title.” Austin cuts him off. Moose tells him to shut the hell up. “Just like your partner Chris Bey.” Austin smacks the mic outta his face and calls him a “disrespectful piece of sh*t.”

He says “maybe you don’t know how to count this high, but I’ve been X-Division Champion not once, not twice, but three times.” He talks about carrying the X-Division for years. He says if he wants to learn something about the X-Division, he’s standing in the ring with the right guy.

He says he’ll happily become a four-time TNA X-Division Champion right now. The theme for TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella hits. Marella says it’ll be Moose vs. Ace Austin for the TNA X-Division Championship at TNA Genesis 2025.

Steve Maclin, Josh Alexander & Jonathan Gresham Brawl With The System

Backstage, Steve Maclin, Josh Alexander and Jonathan Gresham all agree they’re pissed off. They ask what they’re going to do about it. In walks The System, sans Moose and the ladies, who asks what they’re going to do, too.

They do this ignorantly, while standing right in front of the aforementioned trio. All six end up in a big brawl that we see all of three seconds of. The camera pans to Jordynne Grace padding up and getting ready for the big multi-person main event later in the show.

Big Tag-Team Match Announced For Next Week

On that note, the show cuts to another commercial break. When the show returns, we see a lengthy match excerpt as the TNA+ Moment of the Week. We return live to Ryan Nemeth being checked by the doctor after being hit with a chair. “Wait until my big brother hears about this!”

Joe Hendry and Rhino against Nic and Ryan Nemeth is made for next week when all four end up bickering, with Santino Marella entering the picture and making the match official.

Mike Santana Confronted By Josh Alexander & The Northern Armory

Inside the Impact Zone, the hip-hop sounds of Mike Santana’s theme hits. He makes his way to the ring through the crowd. He gets on the mic and says he’s going to do what he does best and speak from the heart.

He talks about his tough life on the streets growing up, his hard times in rehab beating addiction. He talks about coming to TNA and becoming one of the best after people said he made career suicide. He said it’s time to get back to the path of purpose, and that’s becoming the standard of TNA.

As he continues to talk, the theme for Josh Alexander hits to cut him off. Out comes “The Walking Weapon” along with the other duo from The Northern Armory. Alexander gets on the mic and says everyone says they want to be the guy, but very few can actually rise to the occasion and obtain it.

Alexander says they’re cut from the same cloth. He tells Santana he’s always liked him. He calls him tough and talented. He loses his cool at some fans and yells at them to shut their damn mouth, but worse, as it was bleeped out. He turns and talks to them off-mic, off-camera for a moment, and then returns to his point.

He tells Santana he might not be who he is today if not for the wars between LAX and The North. He asks how that ended. He says he was beat by The North and sent packing, whereas The North became the longest-reigning champions in this company’s history. He leans right in Santana’s face and says he left for green pastures and asks what happened. He tells him he failed.

He says he’s the man who beat Christian Cage to become TNA World Champion. He lost it before he could wrap it around his waist, but he didn’t piss and moan. He came out the next week and won again, then he beat Bronson Reed and climbed until he got back to the top of the mountain. It was destiny.

As long as he’s in TNA, Mike Santana will never be “the guy.” Alexander and The Northern Armory go to leave. Santana stops them. “Hey, where you going?” He says Alexander might be right. He stayed here and beat killer after killer to become the face of TNA.

“Now was it you, or because you was kissing ass and sucking up to the man with the pencil.” Santana brings up Alexander’s bald-ass head. Fans chant “Bald-Ass Head! Bald-Ass Head!” Alexander glares at them. Santana says he can whoop all three of their asses.

He says how about next week he goes through Alexander and his entire squad in one night. He vows to prove he’s what he says he is, which is the nastiest ever. “I’ll see your b*tch-ass next week.” Mic drop.

Nic Nemeth & Ryan Nemeth Talk Upcoming Business

we shoot backstage and see Jordynne Grace gearing up still when she is met by her partners for tonight’s eight-Knockouts tag-team main event. Santino Marella tells them they’re up next. On that note, the show heads into a commercial break.

When the show returns, Frankie Kazarian and JDC have some fun mocking Leon Slater after he walks off following his refusal to accept the self-proclaimed “King of TNA’s” offer to essentially be his errand-boy.

Back inside the Impact Zone, the theme for “The Wanted Man” hits and out comes TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth. He says he has a lot to say, so he’s going to get right down to it. He talks about facing Joe Hendry at TNA Bound For Glory. He says Hendry was “this close” to becoming TNA World Champion.

Nemeth puts over Hendry some more, before pointing out how he can’t keep putting him over because he’s going to kick his ass in a couple of weeks. He talks about representing the TNA locker room as the TNA World Champion. He says TNA Genesis will be a special night.

He knows Hendry is bringing everything he’s got, and we all know he’s coming to steal the show and stay our champion. He brings up Santino making a tag-team match with himself and his brother Ryan against Rhino and Hendry for next week. He continues to talk but is cut off by his brother.

“My brother, Nic, it is so great to see you.” He asks about him putting over Hendry. He reminds him he’s a snake. He says he’ll hit him in the back the first chance he gets, just like Rhino hit him in the back with a steel chair.

He says they’ll show everyone next week that the name Nemeth is synonymous with greatness. Nic tells Ryan not to forget he’s in this match because of him. He says he should be focusing on TNA Genesis, but says not to worry because they’ll take care of business. He walks off.

Masha Slamovich, Jordynne Grace & Spitfire (Dani Luna & Jody Threat) defeated Rosemary, Tasha Steelz, Ash & Heather By Elegance

It’s main event time!

But first, we are given the lineup for next week’s TNA Impact (see below), and Hannifan and Rehwoldt run down the updated lineup for TNA Genesis 2025, as the official match graphics flash across the screen.

Backstage, we see TNA security and officials standing over a beaten down security guard. Santino Marella runs up and says they need more security. Hannifan brings up Tessa Blanchard, but it is never confirmed to be her.

Inside the Impact Zone, Ash and Heather by Elegance make their way out to the ring. Tasha Steelz comes out next, followed by Rosemary. The first four-Knockouts team settles inside the squared circle for our final match of the evening.

TNA Knockouts Tag-Team Champions Spitfire, Dani Luna and Jody Threat, make their way out first for the opposition. They stop at the top of the stage and wait. Their music dies down and the sirens blare to bring out “The Juggernaut” Jordynne Grace.

Finally, TNA Knockouts Masha Slamovich is out next, and the babyface foursome head to the ring for our eight-Knockouts tag-team main event of the evening. Before the match gets underway, the show heads into another commercial break.

The show returns and Steelz and Slamovich are in the middle of in-progress action. Steelz is throwing kicks as Slamovich gets back to her feet. Slamovich hits the ropes and runs over Steelz with a lariat. She snap mares her down and kicks her in the back with authority.

Steelz fights back into competitive form and tags in Rosemary, who picks up where she left off, taking it to the TNA Knockouts Champion. Slamovich fights back and tags in Grace. The two hit a double-team spot on Rosemary. And another. Grace goes for the cover, but only gets two.

Spitfire takes over and hits some double-team spots that gets the crowd back on their feet. After some more back-and-forth action, the show heads into another mid-match commercial break. When the show returns, the heel team is in the lead.

The opposition begins taking over until George Iceman gets involved at ringside. This allows Ash By Elegance to shift the momentum back in her team’s favor. She stomps away at Threat in the corner. Heather By Elegance tags in and takes over. Rosemary provides an assist behind the ref’s back.

As the heel foursome continue to control the action, keeping Threat on the mat and on their side of the ring, the show heads into the final mid-match commercial break of the evening. When the show returns, Threat is still isolated in the ring, with Rosemary controlling her and the crowd trying to rally behind her.

Threat finally makes the much-needed tag. The opposition begins fighting back into competitive form. There are a bunch of quick tags to give everyone some ring time in the closing minutes of the contest. At one point there are all eight competitors in the ring at the same time.

Spitfire and the Elegance duo brawl at ringside, leaving the other four alone in the ring. Grace and Slamovich double-team Steelz. Steelz fights off Grace, but turns around into a big kick from Slamovich. Slamovich follows up with her finisher for the pinfall victory.

Tessa Blanchard Kicks Out Jordynne Grace Takes Back “Her Locker Room”

As the winning team celebrates, Tessa Blanchard, who was advertised for the show, makes her expected appearance, attacking from behind. She and Jordynne Grace powder off to the back. Rosemary sprays mist at ringside. The cameras catch up with Tessa, who is beating down Grace.

She literally drags her out of the building and throws her outside. She tells her, “And now, I’m taking my locker room back.” She pulls the garage door shut and storms through the backstage area, shoving people and yelling, “Get out of my way!” That’s how the first TNA Impact of the New Year of 2025 goes off the air. Thanks for joining us!

Next Week:
* Savannah Evans vs. TBA
* Mike Santana in Northern Armory Gauntlet

Tessa Blanchard segment announced for TNA Impact

Tessa Blanchard will be on TNA Impact this week.

TNA has announced that Blanchard “has promised to make her presence felt” on Thursday’s show.

Last month, our own Dave Meltzer reported that Blanchard was expected to return to the promotion for the first time in four years.

“The belief is Tessa Blanchard has signed here which explains her not being in CMLL the last few weeks,” Meltzer wrote.”The belief is that she’ll debut in Atlanta, do a quick program with Jordynne Grace, with Grace then leaving for WWE when her current contract expires. At least that’s the talking point going around. But I was told Blanchard having signed is confirmed.”

Blanchard attacked Grace at Final Resolution in Atlanta and participated in the TV tapings held the following day.

TNA Impact on January 2, 2025, will feature matches segments taped last month at Center Stage in Atlanta. Spoilers from the shows are available here. This week’s episode will also mark TNA’s debut on Sportsnet in Canada.

TNA Impact announced lineup for Thursday, January 2, 2025:

  • Jordynne Grace, Masha Slamovich & Spitfire (Dani Luna & Jody Threat) vs. Ash By Elegance, Heather By Elegance, Rosemary & Tasha Steelz
  • KUSHIDA vs. Ace Austin
  • Tessa Blanchard will appear
  • Jordynne Grace speaks
  • Joe Hendry to kickoff show

WWE NXT reveals year-end award winners, Joe Hendry appears via video

This year’s NXT Year-End Awards have been revealed.

Awards handed out on Tuesday’s show include Nathan Frazer & Axiom winning Tag Team of the Year, Dijak vs. Josh Briggs vs. Oba Femi from Stand & Deliver winning Match of the Year, Joe Hendry making his debut winning Moment of the Year, Stand & Deliver winning PLE of the Year, and Roxanne Perez winning Female Superstar of the Year.

In the final segment of the show, it wasn’t made clear who won Male Superstar of the Year as Oba Femi interrupted. As Trick Williams came out to confront him, Eddy Thrope attacked Femi from behind, who bumped into Williams. Thorpe then smashed the trophy into Femi’s head to end the show, holding the NXT Championship up high.

Hendry appeared via video on Tuesday’s show thanking fans for making his surprise debut the Moment of the year. He ended the promo by reminding people that saying his name means anywhere, any time, any show.

As part of a working relationship with TNA, Hendry made a surprise appearance in a battle royal to determine a new number one contender for the NXT title back in June. However, he was quickly eliminated. He made more appearances in July, August, and September before losing a match to Ethan Page at NXT No Mercy.

AJ Francis re-signs with TNA Wrestling

AJ Francis is not leaving TNA Wrestling anytime in the foreseeable future.

The former Top Dolla was released by WWE in September 2023 and debuted for TNA at Hard to Kill 2024 the following January. On Tuesday, he revealed to Sports Illustrated that he has re-signed with TNA Wrestling.

Francis said:

“TNA has taken care of me over the last year. A year ago, I wasn’t the most sought after free agent. A year ago, people thought I wasn’t going to wrestle anymore. A year ago, people thought that my wrestling career might be done. And a year ago, TNA took me in for their very first show, Hard To Kill in (Las) Vegas. That was the very first night that I interacted with Joe Hendry. One year later, Joe Hendry’s the biggest star in wrestling. He can still send me a box of cigars for that whenever he wants.”

During the last year in TNA, Francis won the TNA Digital Media Championship and was the self-proclaimed Canadian International Heavyweight Champion during a program he worked on that culminated in PCO beating him for both titles at Slammiversary. He recently headlined TNA Final Resolution 2024, losing a TNA World title match to champion Nic Nemeth in the main event.

Francis was backstage at AEW Worlds End in Orlando this weekend, Fightful reported. He also mentioned to Sports Illustrated that he’d had offers from other companies but decided he wanted to return to TNA.

Francis continued:

“I always wanted to go back to TNA. Even though over the past week, I’ve made it clear that I could go anywhere. There were feelers out for me potentially going over to AEW, maybe going back to NXT because I never really got a run in NXT, maybe go back to SmackDown. Obviously going to Netflix for Raw would have been cool too. But there was a lot of options out on the table for me. TNA just feels like the best place for me. TNA has always since the day that I got there changed people’s perception of me. My last match in TNA was for the TNA World Title, an absolute banger of a match in the main event of Final Resolution against Nic Nemeth.”

“It’s funny because a year ago when it was announced I was coming to TNA, the discourse by TNA fans was, ‘Why is he coming? We don’t need him. What’s he doing here’? And then over the last week, when I was out here saying I might be leaving, it became, please come back to TNA. We love you at TNA. It’s been great the TNA. So it’s funny, what a year could change. A year can change everything. There was never anything that made me want to leave TNA.”

The last two weeks of TNA Impact have been “Best of 2024” compilation shows. This week, the promotion presents its first show of 2025, which will also mark the first TNA show to air on Sportsnet in Canada.

Jordynne Grace, Joe Hendry segments announced for TNA Impact

TNA Wrestling has added multiple segments to the lineup for Thursday’s Impact.

The promotion announced on Tuesday that “we’ll hear from” Jordynne Grace on the show. Grace was already scheduled for an eight-person tag on Thursday, teaming with Spitfire and Masha Slamovich against Ash by Elegance, Heather by Elegance, Rosemary and Tasha Steelz.

TNA has also announced that Joe Hendry will kickoff Thursday’s show.

KUSHIDA vs. Ace Austin will also air on Thursday. Two weeks ago, the match was filmed at TNA’s TV Tapings in Atlanta. KUSHIDA is one of several names reported to have finished up with the company this month, along with Rhino, Trent Seven, and ring announcer Jade Chung.

This week’s edition of TNA Impact will be the first to air on Sportsnet in Canada. Ads promoting TNA’s move to the network have also been running during recent airings of WWE programming on Sportsnet.

TNA Impact announced lineup for Thursday, January 2, 2025:

  • Jordynne Grace, Masha Slamovich & Spitfire (Dani Luna & Jody Threat) vs. Ash By Elegance, Heather By Elegance, Rosemary & Tasha Steelz
  • KUSHIDA vs. Ace Austin
  • Jordynne Grace speaks
  • Joe Hendry to kickoff show

Eight-woman tag team match announced for TNA Impact

After two weeks of ‘Best of’ shows, TNA will get back to work on this Thursday’s edition of Impact on the road to January’s Genesis pay-per-view.

Announced during Thursday’s ‘Best of’ show, Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich (pictured above), Jordynne Grace & Knockouts Tag Team Champions Spitfire (Dani Luna & Jody Threat) will take on Rosemary, Tasha Steelz, and both Ash by & Heather by Elegance.

Grace felt the wrath of the returning Tessa Blanchard at this month’s Final Resolution after competing against Rosemary — the same show where Slamovich defended her title against Steelz. The By Elegance women have been pursuing a shot against Spitfire for weeks.

The Bound for Glory match between Grace and Slamovich was honored by TNA last night as the company’s match of the year.

Here’s the current lineup for this Thursday — the first of three shows before the Sunday, January 19th pay-per-view:

  • Jordynne Grace, Masha Slamovich & Spitfire (Dani Luna & Jody Threat) vs. Ash By Elegance, Heather By Elegance, Rosemary & Tasha Steelz

TNA wrestler Hammerstone undergoes surgery

TNA wrestler Alex Hammerstone is beginning the recovery process following surgery.

After being forced out of action with a knee injury, Hammerstone shared an update on Monday revealing that he’s had successful surgery. Hammerstone later posted that he’s home from the hospital and is already starting to rehab his knee.

The injury forced Hammerstone to be pulled from TNA Final Resolution on December 13, where he was scheduled to team with Jake Something against The Rascalz and Sami Callihan & PCO.

“Hopefully, optimistically, it’s looking like it’s going to be a pretty minor procedure,” Hammerstone said before surgery. “And I should be back to the ring in not much longer than a couple weeks. Let’s hope that stays true. It’s sucks that I’ve missed the time that I have. It sucks that I’m going to miss some more. But I’m going to do everything I can to recover as fast as I can and get back to the ring.”

This is the first time the 33-year-old Hammerstone has needed to have surgery in his wrestling career. Over the weekend, he tweeted that he had terrible anxiety heading into surgery but was determined to get back to action.

Hammerstone, who is a former World Champion for MLW, signed with TNA Wrestling this February.
