Paige returns, wins gold at WWE WrestleMania 42

WWE is Paige’s house once again.

At WrestleMania 42 night one, Paige returned to WWE and worked her first match for the company in nearly a decade, teaming with Brie Bella to win the Women’s Tag Team titles. It was scheduled to be Nikki & Brie Bella teaming together in the match, but Nikki was unable to be cleared in time after suffering an ankle injury on SmackDown three weeks ago.

Nikki walked out with a crutch as The Bella Twins made their entrance tonight. Announcing that she would not be able to compete, Nikki said an “old friend” would be taking her place — bringing out Paige for her return.

That crutch ended up playing a big role in the fatal four-way match. Interfering during the finish, Nikki used the crutch as a weapon and struck Charlotte Flair with it. Paige then got her knees up when Alexa Bliss went for Twisted Bliss. She followed up with RamPaige on Bliss for the victory.

Nia Jax & Lash Legend were Women’s Tag Team Champions heading into tonight. The four-way bout featured Jax & Legend, Brie Bella & Paige, Charlotte & Bliss, and Bayley & Lyra Valkyria.

On commentary, Michael Cole brought up that Paige won the Divas Championship on her first night on the main roster back in 2014 and had now won gold again her first night back.

Paige was once medically disqualified from WWE due to neck issues, last wrestling for the company in December 2017. She remained with WWE in a non-wrestling role until departing the promotion in 2022. She then joined AEW, returning to the ring there and holding the AEW Women’s World Championship one time.

In March 2025, Paige (Saraya) and AEW mutually parted ways. She took the past year off from pro wrestling but had been training for her return recently.

Title match announced for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

Liv Morgan & Roxanne Perez are getting a Women’s Tag Team title shot at WWE’s next Saturday Night’s Main Event special.

The January 24 edition of SNME will see Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY defend their newly won belts against Judgment Day’s Morgan & Perez. That was made official on Raw today with Morgan & Perez winning a triple threat match to become the new number one contenders.

The Kabuki Warriors and Bayley & Lyra Valkyria were the two other teams in the number one contender’s match. Asuka & Kairi Sane were looking to get another shot at the belts after dropping them to Ripley & SKY last week, but Morgan ended up pinning Sane for the victory. Sane did not notice that Morgan had tagged in — and Morgan capitalized on that by hitting Oblivion while Sane was focused on Perez.

Montreal’s Bell Centre is hosting the January 24 SNME special just one week before the Royal Rumble takes place in Saudi Arabia. Airing live on Peacock, this is the first SNME since John Cena retired on the show in December.

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event (January 24) —

  • Fatal four-way number one contender’s match for WWE Championship shot at Royal Rumble (competitors to be determined by qualifying matches)
  • Women’s Tag Team Champions Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY defend against Judgment Day (Liv Morgan & Roxanne Perez)

Women’s Tag Team titles change hands on WWE Raw

Rhea Ripley & Nikki A.S.H. are the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Ripley & Nikki A.S.H. won the Women’s Tag Team titles by defeating Natalya & Tamina on tonight’s episode of Raw. Natalya went to put the Sharpshooter on Nikki A.S.H. during the match, but she was distracted by Ripley laying out Tamina by hitting Riptide on the outside. Nikki A.S.H. then rolled up Natalya to win the titles.

Tamina had tried to take out Ripley before being laid out.

Prior to tonight’s Women’s Tag Team title match, Ripley and Nikki A.S.H. spoke about Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month and dedicated their match to everyone who has been affected by pediatric cancer and everyone who has supported WWE’s Connor’s Cure foundation.

On Raw two weeks ago, Ripley & Nikki A.S.H. defeated Natalya & Tamina in a non-title contender’s match. Last week’s Raw featured singles matches where Nikki A.S.H. defeated Tamina and Ripley defeated Natalya.

Ripley and Nikki A.S.H. are both former Raw Women’s Champions. In a triple threat match that also included Ripley, Nikki A.S.H. lost the Raw Women’s Championship to Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam last month.

Natalya & Tamina had been Women’s Tag Team Champions since winning the titles from Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler this May.

Regal to make major announcement on next week’s WWE NXT

Following the finish of tonight’s Women’s Tag Team title match, WWE is hyping that a major announcement will be made on NXT next week.

NXT general manager William Regal said on tonight’s show that he’ll be making an announcement that will “change the landscape of NXT” next Wednesday. The announcement is related to WWE authority figure Adam Pearce helping Raw’s Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler retain their Women’s Tag Team titles against NXT’s Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez tonight.

After NXT referee Aja Smith was accidentally knocked down when Gonzalez went to hit a big boot on Jax during tonight’s title match, Pearce ran out with Raw referee Shawn Bennett as Baszler had Kai in the Kirifuda Clutch. Despite Kai not being the legal person, Bennett called for the bell when she passed out in the Kirifuda Clutch.

Bennett tweeted after the title match: “Tonight I was assigned by WWE Official @ScrapDaddyAP to accompany him to #WWENXT . When @WWENXT referee @RefAjaWWE was incapacitated I was sent to the ring & called the action that was in front of me.”

Pearce then responded to Bennett: “I am grateful to have had you at the ready when @RefAjaWWE unfortunately went down. Don’t listen to the vitriol, Shawn. You called the action in front of you and none of us can ask any more than that. Total respect to the four incredible women in that battle! #WWENXT”

There was an angle where Regal and Pearce were shown exchanging words backstage after the finish of the Women’s Tag Team title match. Pearce wrote on Twitter: “General Manager @RealKingRegal was/is frustrated and 100% RIGHTFULLY SO. That said, accusatory finger-pointing is misguided. Neither I nor @BennettWWE rendered @RefAjaWWE unable to officiate the end of that incredible bout. Respect to the four women that laid it all on the line!”

Kai & Gonzalez got the Women’s Tag Team title shot by winning the inaugural women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

Here’s the updated lineup for next Wednesday’s NXT:

  • NXT Champion Finn Balor defends against Adam Cole
  • NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai defends against Toni Storm
  • Xia Li vs. Kayden Carter
  • NXT general manager William Regal makes an announcement that will “change the landscape of NXT”

Naomi & Lana to challenge for WWE Women’s Tag Team titles

Naomi & Lana are the new number one contenders to the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles.

Naomi & Lana defeated Charlotte Flair & Raw Women’s Champion Asuka and Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke in a triple threat match on Raw tonight to become the number one contenders to Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler’s Women’s Tag Team titles. When Naomi & Lana will be getting their title shot hasn’t been announced.

Charlotte tagged out near the end of the number one contender’s match and walked out of the match as Ric Flair and Lacey Evans were coming out to the ring. Asuka then turned around into a Rear View from Naomi. Naomi pinned Asuka to get the win.

Charlotte & Asuka lost the Raw Tag Team titles to Jax & Baszler on Sunday’s Royal Rumble pre-show due to interference by Ric Flair and Evans. Ric gave Evans brass knuckles, then Evans used them to lay Charlotte out with the Woman’s Right.

Naomi and Lana both made their returns as entrants in the women’s Royal Rumble. Lana eliminated her rival Jax in the match.

Women’s Tag Team titles change hands at WWE Royal Rumble

New Women’s Tag Team Champions were crowned on tonight’s Royal Rumble pre-show.

Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler regained the Women’s Tag Team titles by defeating Charlotte Flair & Asuka on the Royal Rumble pre-show. Charlotte was pinned by Jax after interference by Ric Flair and Lacey Evans. That interference included Evans pulling Charlotte out of the ring as she was putting Baszler in the Figure Eight. Ric then gave Evans a foreign object to use as she laid out Charlotte with the Woman’s Right while the referee was distracted by Jax

Jax then tagged in, gave Charlotte a leg drop, and pinned her to get the win. Asuka had been thrown over the announce table by Baszler leading into the finish. Asuka checked on Charlotte after the match.

This is Jax & Baszler’s second reign as Women’s Tag Team Champions. They had lost the titles to Charlotte & Asuka at December’s TLC pay-per-view.

Charlotte, Jax, Baszler, and Evans will all be entrants in tonight’s women’s Royal Rumble match.

Asuka currently holds the Raw Women’s Championship. She isn’t defending that title tonight.

Women’s Tag Team title defense added to WWE SmackDown

Another title match has been added to the Christmas Day edition of WWE SmackDown.

It was announced during Raw tonight that new Women’s Tag Team Champions Asuka & Charlotte Flair will make their first title defense on this Friday’s Christmas Day episode of SmackDown. Their challengers for the show haven’t been revealed.

After six months away from WWE programming, Charlotte returned as Asuka’s partner at Sunday’s TLC pay-per-view. They defeated Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax to win the Women’s Tag Team titles. Lana was originally announced as Asuka’s partner for TLC, but there was an angle on Raw last week where it was said that Lana wasn’t cleared to compete after being attacked by Baszler & Jax.

Asuka & Charlotte opened tonight’s post-TLC episode of Raw. Charlotte was about to ask about Asuka’s Raw Women’s Championship, but they were interrupted by Baszler & Jax. Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke then appeared, leading to a match where Baszler & Jax defeated Rose & Brooke.

Asuka & Charlotte were on commentary for Baszler & Jax vs. Rose & Brooke. When Baszler & Jax turned their attention to Asuka & Charlotte after the match, Rose dropkicked Baszler off the apron and Rose & Brooke threw Jax over the top rope.

Later on tonight’s Raw, Asuka & Charlotte were in action and defeated Lacey Evans & Peyton Royce in a non-title match.

Three title matches have now been announced for the Christmas Day episode of SmackDown. It’s being taped in advance and will air on Fox at 8 p.m. Eastern time this Friday. Here’s the updated lineup for the show:

  • Universal Champion Roman Reigns defends his title against Kevin Owens in a steel cage match
  • Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn defends his title against Big E
  • Women’s Tag Team Champions Asuka & Charlotte Flair defend their titles

NXT’s Nox & Blackheart to challenge for Women’s Tag Team titles

For the second time since they were introduced, the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles are set to be defended in NXT.

WWE has announced that Tegan Nox & Shotzi Blackheart will challenge for the Women’s Tag Team titles on NXT next Wednesday. Bayley & Sasha Banks currently hold the titles and will defend them against Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross and The IIconics in a triple threat match at Sunday’s Backlash pay-per-view.

Bayley & Banks won the titles from Bliss & Cross on SmackDown last Friday.

The Women’s Tag Team titles can be defended across all three of WWE’s top brands. Nox was also part of the first Women’s Tag Team title match in NXT, which took place in October. Asuka & Kairi Sane were champions then and retained their titles against Nox & Dakota Kai.

Nox & Blackheart teamed with Mia Yim against Kai, Raquel Gonzalez & Candice LeRae at NXT TakeOver: In Your House this past Sunday. Nox pinned Kai to get the win.

This is the second Tag Team title match that’s been announced for next week’s NXT. Breezango will challenge Imperium for the NXT Tag Team titles on the episode.

New Women’s Tag Team Champions crowned at WWE WrestleMania 36

New Women’s Tag Team champions were crowned tonight at WrestleMania.

Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss won the Women’s Tag Team championship for a second time, defeating the Kabuki Warriors. After a back and forth match, Bliss pinned Kairi Sane with the Twisted Bliss to pick up the win and the titles for her team.

The two teams have been feuding off and on since October. In recent weeks, Asuka had been feuding with Bliss and Cross while Kairi Sane was off television.

The Kabuki Warriors had held the titles for 181 days, defeating Bliss and Cross at Hell in a Cell back on October 6.

WrestleMania is set to take place over the course of two nights. Becky Lynch vs. Shayna Bayzler for the Raw Women’s championship will take place tonight. Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair for the NXT Women’s championship, as well as a fatal five way match for the SmackDown Women’s championship, will be held on tomorrow’s card.

WWE Starrcade live results: Rusev vs. Bobby Lashley

WWE’s revived version of Starrcade, essentially a glammed up house show, airs tonight on the WWE Network.

Three segments will be aired live. One will be a fatal four way tag team match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles, with champions The Kabuki Warriors facing Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair, Bayley & Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross.

Another match set is a last man standing bout between Bobby Lashley and Rusev. The two have been feuding for a number of weeks, with the catalyst being Lana dumping Rusev for Lashley. The two ended up having a huge brawl this past week on Raw, with Rusev sending Lashley through a platform off the Raw stage.

One non-wrestling segment is also set for the show, with Ric Flair being announced as a guest for the Kevin Owens Show.

Join us for live coverage starting at 7 p.m. EST.

**********

Kevin Owens came out for his show and quickly introduced Ric Flair.

Flair started to give a speech about Starrcade but the crowd chanted “we can’t hear you”. Owens traded him microphones. He brings up what Roman said on Thursday and says he we might not like each other, but we are family. He said he was lucky to be here, look at his daughter. He thanks Harley Race and mentions their match at the first Starrcade, as well as Dusty Rhodes, who came up with the idea. He also brought up Sting.

He said behind that curtain tonight there are 30 people who want to go out there and prove they are the best. Owens says that is because of Flair’s legacy. Owens told Flair he wants to hear a “woo”.

They counted three, but at three the OC (Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows) came out. They should be celebrating that Gallows & Anderson are the best tag team. Kevin Owens threw a bald joke at them. Anderson said that they should spend the next 55 minutes airing O.C. highlight clips. Owens said that instead maybe they should show footage of AJ Styles losing the United States title to Rey Mysterio on Raw this past Monday.

This brought out The Street Profits. Montez Ford said they should make some highlights here tonight in “Atlanta”. This all leads to a tag match.

The Street Profits defeated The O.C. (Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson)

Profits get the early advantage on Anderson before he tags in to Gallows. Ford is distracted long enough on the apron by Anderson to eat a boot by Gallows that sends him to the floor. Anderson works on him back in the ring as he tags back in Gallows.

Ford made the hot tag to Dawkins who ran wild on both men before being taken down by a spinebuster from Anderson. Both Anderson & Gallows went for the magic killer on Dawkins, but Ford breaks it up. He took out Gallows on the outside, then was tagged in for a frog splash and got the win. Basic match, though the crowd was into it.

Ric Flair celebrated with The Street Profits after the match.

Sasha Banks met up with Bayley backstage. Bayley says let’s just do what we do then get the hell out of here. Sasha said they would be double champions.

The Kabuki Warriors defeated Bayley & Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch & Charlotte and Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross to retain the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles

The match starts out with some tentative back and forth and many tags. Charlotte and Asuka exchange strikes, with Charlotte getting the better of things. She went for a figure four, but Asuka shoved her away, allowing Sasha Banks to tag herself in.

Alexa Bliss is tagged in as she and Nikki worked over Sasha Banks. Bayley is tagged in and isolates Nikki briefly. Nikki tags in Becky Lynch, who is cut off by Bayley and Sasha.
Becky manages to escape from Bayley, but instead of tagging in Charlotte instead tags in Bliss. Bayley tags in Kairi as she put Alexa in a half Boston crab. Bayley & Sasha are back in and isolate Bliss. Bliss escapes momentarily, but Asuka grabs Bliss by the leg.

Bliss strikes Asuka with a forearm before tagging in Lynch, who takes out both Kabuki Warriors, Bayley and Sasha. Asuka breaks up a pin attempt by Becky with a running knee. Nikki tags herself in and hits a double crossbody on both Kairi and Asuka.

Everyone started hitting big moves at this point. Sane hit the insane elbow on Lynch, but Charlotte took out both Kabuki Warriors with a double spear. Charlotte was posted in the corner.  Asuka missed a kick as Nikki rolled her up for a flash pin, but Asuka countered with the Asuka lock, giving her the submission win. This was another perfectly fine match, but there was nothing particularly interesting about it.

Bobby Lashley won the last man standing match I guess

Lana says she has some good news and some bad news. The good news is that she’s excited for this holiday season because she has a hot boyfriend and he is the gift that keeps on giving. She said Rusev never appreciated her. Fans chanted “Rusev day”.

She said the bad news was that there would be no Last Man Standing match. She went to court in Georgia today and filed a restraining order. She said Rusev day was cancelled and they would gladly take the win by forfeit. The referee raised Lashley’s hand.

At that moment, Kevin Owens came out. He said he’s not ending the show like this. He said no one cares about their stupid relationship. He ran down the fact she doesn’t use her accent anymore. Lashley told him to get in the ring, and he obliged, leading to a match.

Bobby Lashley defeated Kevin Owens by DQ

Owens hit a few cannonballs in the corner and went for a stunner but Lashley rolled out of the way. Owens wiped out Lashley with a senton off the apron. Lashley got the heat after tripping Owens on the apron.

Owens eventually reversed a suplex attempt from Lashley, but Lashley remained in control. Owens fought back with tops, but was quickly taken down again. Lashley went for a superplex, but Owens fought him off, sent him to the floor and hit a senton. He followed with a bullfrog splash off the opposite corner for a nearfall.

Lashley blocked a stunner attempt with a neckbreaker but Owens reversed it into a stunner. Lana distracted the referee, which led to Owens being distracted and walking into a spinebuster. Lana introduced a steel chair but Rusev came through the chair and assaulted Lashley for the DQ. This was another good match until the finish.

Rusev brawled around the ring with Lashley after the match, then took him into the crowd. Lashley cut him off back in the ringside area and threw him into the steel steps. In the ring, Lashley beat him with a kendo stick until Lashley grabbed it from him and began pelting Lashley with strikes. Rusev attacked Lashley with a chair then drilled him with a machka kick while Lashley was holding a chair, sending him out of the ring.

The show ended with Rusev leaving through the crowd to avoid being arrested, I guess.

Kai & Nox to challenge for Women’s Tag Team titles on NXT next week

The WWE Women’s Tag Team titles are set to be defended in NXT for the first time.

Women’s Tag Team Champions Asuka & Kairi Sane will put their titles on the line against Dakota Kai & Tegan Nox on NXT next Wednesday. The match was set up by Kai & Nox defeating Marina Shafir & Jessamyn Duke in a number one contender’s match tonight.

Asuka & Sane appeared on the video screen after the match, cutting a promo and saying Kai & Nox have no chance next week.

When the Women’s Tag Team titles were introduced, WWE announced that they could be defended on Raw, SmackDown, and NXT. Sasha Banks & Bayley appeared on an episode of NXT while champions but never defended the titles on the brand.

Asuka & Sane became Women’s Tag Team Champions by defeating Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross at Hell in a Cell earlier this month. Asuka & Sane have been heels since that match.

Fatal four-way Women’s Tag Team title match official for WrestleMania

Four teams will be in the Women’s Tag Team title match at WrestleMania 35.

WWE has announced that Sasha Banks & Bayley will defend their titles against Beth Phoenix & Natalya, Nia Jax & Tamina, and Peyton Royce & Billie Kay in a fatal four-way match at WrestleMania.

Banks faced Natalya on this week’s Raw, with Jax & Tamina causing a disqualification. Phoenix hit the Glam Slam on Tamina after the match and put her foot on Banks’ title belt when she was trying to take it out of the ring. Banks & Bayley later cut a promo where they vowed to take on all of the teams coming for them at WrestleMania.

On last week’s SmackDown, Royce & Kay defeated Banks & Bayley in a non-title match.

Banks & Bayley became WWE’s first Women’s Tag Team Champions of this era at February’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.

MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey is the host of this year’s WrestleMania. The show will take place on April 7. Here’s what’s been announced thus far:

Women’s Tag Team title match confirmed for WWE Fastlane

WWE has announced Sasha Banks & Bayley’s first televised Women’s Tag Team title defense.

Banks & Bayley will defend their titles against Nia Jax & Tamina at Fastlane. That was announced during tonight’s Raw, which also featured Bayley defeating Jax in a singles match.

Jax and Tamina interrupted Banks and Bayley in an angle on last week’s Raw, but Banks and Bayley fought them off before they could get into the ring.

Banks & Bayley became WWE’s first Women’s Tag Team Champions of this era at Elimination Chamber on February 17. They made their first title defense against The Riott Squad at Raw’s house show in Jonesboro, Arkansas this past Friday night.

WWE has announced that the Women’s Tag Team titles will be defended on Raw, SmackDown, and in NXT.

Fastlane is taking place at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio on March 10. Kofi Kingston challenging for Daniel Bryan’s WWE Championship is set for the pay-per-view, along with Shane McMahon & The Miz getting their rematch for The Usos’ SmackDown Tag Team titles.

Women’s tag titles to be defended on WWE Raw, SmackDown & NXT

The night after Sasha Banks & Bayley became champions, WWE officially announced where the Women’s Tag Team titles will be able to be defended.

Banks & Bayley made their first appearance on Raw as Tag Team Champions. They cut a promo about winning the titles, with them announcing that they plan on defending against teams from the past, present, and future on “Raw, SmackDown, and even NXT.”

Three teams from Raw and three teams from SmackDown were included in the Elimination Chamber match to crown WWE’s first Women’s Tag Team Champions of this era. Banks & Bayley defeated Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville, Nia Jax & Tamina, Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan, Peyton Royce & Billie Kay, and Naomi & Carmella to win the titles.

Banks & Bayley’s segment on this week’s Raw ended with an angle where they were interrupted by Jax & Tamina. Jax said Banks only cares about herself — and history shows that she loses titles on her first defense. Jax & Tamina tried to attack Banks & Bayley but were fought off before they could get into the ring.

Naomi & Carmella round out lineup for WWE Women’s tag title match

All six teams have now been confirmed for WWE’s Women’s Tag Team Championship Elimination Chamber match.

WWE posted a video tonight announcing that Naomi & Carmella have been added to the tag title match. Elimination Chamber 2019 is taking place at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas on February 17.

All of Raw’s teams had Elimination Chamber qualifiers, while SmackDown’s were announced for the match. Nia Jax & Tamina, Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan, and Sasha Banks & Bayley are Raw’s teams. Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville, Peyton Royce & Billie Kay, and Naomi & Carmella are SmackDown’s teams.

Jax & Tamina qualified by defeating Alexa Bliss & Mickie James, Morgan & Logan defeated Natalya & Dana Brooke, and Banks & Bayley defeated Alicia Fox & Nikki Cross.

The Women’s Tag Team title match is one of two Elimination Chamber matches that have been announced for this month’s pay-per-view. Daniel Bryan will also defend his WWE Championship against AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy, Mustafa Ali, and Samoa Joe inside the Chamber.
