NXT Championship match participants set, new title match added to next week’s show

The participants for next week’s NXT Championship ladder match are set.

Dion Lennox, Keanu Carver, Jackson Drake, and Joe Hendry have all been added to next week’s ladder match that will crown a new NXT Champion. They join Shiloh Hill, Ricky Saints, and Sean Legacy, who were either added or qualified on last week’s show.

Lennox and Carver won their qualifying matches on Tuesday, defeating Myles Borne and Andre Chase respectively. The show opened with Joe Hendry being laid out as Jackson Drake was caught holding a steel chair. Ava threatened to fire Vanity Project for the attack, but Drake pointed out she couldn’t prove they attacked him. Ava eventually agreed to put Drake in the match, but also added that Vanity Project were banned from ringisde and if Hendry were medically cleared, he would be added to the match as well.

The final moments of NXT saw the ladder match participants attack one another. Ricky Saints grabbed a ladder to grab the title but Hendry appeared, taking out Saints with the standing ovation. However, Carver appeared in the ring and took out Hendry to end the show with him standing tall.

After Sol Ruca and Zaria became the new number one contenders for the TNA Knockouts Tag Team titles, it was confirmed that they will face the Elegance Brand on next week’s show. Tension continued to build between Ruca and Zaria, with the latter upset that Ruca wasn’t with her on Tuesday.

It was also revealed that Ava had bailed out Tony D’Angelo because NXT needs him, and needs to know what his intentions are. D’Angelo met with Ava backstage and said he would give an answer regarding that next week. D’Angelo went to leave, but not before Ava told him to not interfere in next week’s ladder match.

New number one contender’s for TNA Knockouts Tag Team titles crowned

Number one contenders for the TNA Knockouts Tag Team titles have been crowned.

ZaRuca ended up winning the three way tag team match that headlined Tuesday’s NXT. With Kendal Grey and Wren Sinclair taken out on the outside, Sol Ruca gained the advantage for her team by hitting a double sol snatcher on Laney Reid and Fallon Henley. Ruca then sent Henley into Zaria, who scored the win for her team with the F5.

After the match, both women celebrated to close out the show, with The Personal Concierge to the Elegance brand looking on. It wasn’t announced when ZaRuca will get their title match.

It was announced last week that the three teams would compete on this week’s show, with the winners challenging for the TNA titles. On Thursday’s TNA Impact premiere on AMC, Heather & M by Elegance regained the Knockouts Tag titles by defeating the IInspiration.

On the same show, Sol Ruca ended up answering an open challenge on behalf of Zaria for the TNA Knockouts title at Genesis. Zaria wrestled champion Lee Ying Lee at the event this past weekend but was unable to win the title.

TNA Victory Road notes: Knockouts Tag Team title match moved, new champion crowned

Here are some notes from Friday’s TNA Victory Road event.

Along with a new TNA Knockouts Champion, a new International Champion was crowned on Friday.

Frankie Kazarian emerged as the new champion after Steve Maclin was distracted by AAA’s El Mesias, who appeared at ringside. Maclin took out Mesias with a dive, but immediately got back up. That gave Kazarian an opening, kicking the ropes as Maclin was re-entering the ring then followed up with a slingshot cutter to become the new International Champion.

Earlier in the night, Mustafa Ali faced off against Moose, with the winner’s team getting the advantage in the upcoming Hardcore War bout at Bound for Glory next month. The finish came when the belly dancers for Ali’s entrance surrounded the ring. One of them snuck up from behind and low blowed Moose, allowing Ali to hit the 450 splash for the win, giving his team the advantage heading into Bound for Glory.

Originally, the Elegance Brand (Heather & M by Elegance) were set to defend the Knockouts Tag Team titles against The Inspiration on Friday. However, after Ash by Elegance announced she would have to step away from in-ring competition and vacate the Knockouts title, Santino Marella announced the Knockouts Tag Team title match would be moved to this Thursday’s Impact Wrestling.

A battle royal took place instead, with Kelani Jordan and Lei Ying Lee qualifying for the title match later in the night, with Jordan becoming the new champion.

Ash & Heather by Elegance win Knockouts Tag Team titles at TNA Sacrifice

New Knockouts Tag Team Champions were crowned on Friday.

At TNA Sacrifice, Ash & Heather by Elegance defeated Spitfire (Dani Luna & Jody Threat) in a 2 on 3 match that also involved the Elegance team’s concierge, George Iceman. He played into the finish as he was hit with the Pressure Drop by Spitfire. However, that allowed the Elegance team to get back into the ring and took out Threat with a double stomp to pick up and the win and the titles for the first time.

After the match, the three were celebrating when suddenly NXT’s Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson showed up on stage, staring down the new champions.

Threat & Luna had held the titles for 183 days, defeating The Malisha (Alisha Edwards & Masha Slamovich) to win the titles for a second time.

Recently Ash & Heather by Elegance lost to Spitfire on an episode of Impact, causing the two to become Luna & Threat’s concierge for a day. After walking dogs, getting makeovers, and being forced to train with the champions they were eventually rescued by Iceman disguised as a janitor. On the following Impact, TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella made the 2 on 3 match for Sacrifice.
