Tony D’Angelo wins WWE NXT Championship at Stand & Deliver

Tony D’Angelo is the new NXT Champion.

The longtime NXT star finally won the brand’s top title at Stand & Deliver, defeating Joe Hendry, Ethan Page, and Ricky Saints in a four way match. The finish had D’Angelo putting both Page and Saints through the announce table, meeting Joe Hendry back in the ring. D’Angelo cut off Hendry with a spear and pinned him after hitting the dead to rights chokeslam. The show ended with D’Angelo standing tall, holding his new championship.

D’Angelo returned at the end of last year remaining silent about his intentions at first. However, he ultimately revealed two goals of his: taking out DarkState and eventually winning the NXT Championship. After defeating Dion Lennox at Vengence Day, he made his title ambitions clear.

Two others wanted a crack at Hendry, however: Page and Saints. D’Angelo faced Saints in a number one contender’s match but Page interfered, causing a disqualification. Robert Stone eventually announced the four-way for St. Louis.

Hendry held the title for 60 days, winning a ladder match for the vacant title on the February 3 edition of NXT.

NXT Championship Fatal 4-Way

Joe Hendry won the vacant NXT Championship on the February 2 episode of NXT in a ladder match after pushing Ricky Saints off the ladder, and has since been targeted by Saints, Ethan Page, and Tony D’Angelo in a months-long angle. Saints and Page formed an alliance during this stretch, Page even pinned Hendry in a tag team match, before D’Angelo bulldozed into the picture and attacked all three men, forcing then-Interim GM Robert Stone to book the fatal four-way.

NXT Women’s Championship – TBD Challenger

Kendal Grey and Lola Vice had a number 1 contender’s match this week on NXT to confirm who would be facing NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne. The finish saw Grey pin Vice at the exact same moment she tapped out, so this will likely turn into a Triple Threat match on the night itself.

NXT North American Championship

Johnny Gargano returns to an NXT PLE for the first time since NXT Homecoming in September 2025 to challenge Myles Borne for the North American title. Gargano won a Gauntlet Eliminator match on the March 24 episode of NXT to earn his shot, with Robert Stone announcing the stipulation on the March 17 episode.

NXT Tag Team Championship

Raw’s Los Americanos (Bravo Americano and Rayo Americano) punched their ticket to Stand & Deliver by winning a four-team tournament, defeating Birth Right in the finals on the March 31 episode of NXT to earn their shot against The Vanity Project (Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes).

NXT Women’s North American Championship

Tatum Paxley vs. Blake Monroe has been one of the most entertaining feuds built on NXT this cycle. Monroe attacked Paxley after a successful title defense on March 17, physically stole the championship belt and now we have this match to decide who wins the feud.

Sol Ruca vs. Zaria

Zaria turned on partner Sol Ruca ahead of Ruca’s NXT Women’s Championship match in February, which Jacy Jayne then won in six seconds, one of the quickest matches in the developmental brand’s recent history.

Pre-Show: 10-Person Mixed Tag Team Match

Birth Right (Lexis King, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, Charlie Dempsey, Uriah Connors, and TNA Knockouts World Champion Arianna Grace) face Shiloh Hill, Hank & Tank, Eli Knight, and Women’s Speed Champion Wren Sinclair in a chaotic multi-person opener on the Countdown pre-show.

WWE NXT to hold Stand & Deliver Tag Team title number one contender’s touranment

A tag team tournament will determine Vanity Project’s challengers for Stand & Deliver next month.

Interim GM Robert Stone announced backstage on Tuesday that the tournament will begin next week and will conclude at NXT’s Madison Square Garden Theatre event on March 31. Initially The Culling, Sean Legacy & Eli Knight, Hank & Tank, Birthright, OTM, and DarkState were slated to participate, with Hank & Tank facing Birthright next week in an opening round match.

Saquon Shugars of DarkState was upset about the situation, saying the group wanted their rematch from when Vanity Project won the titles several weeks ago. When OTM arrived in Stone’s office, they immediately began brawling with DarkState. Later in the show, Stone announced that as a result of the fight, both teams were out of the tournament.

Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes won the NXT Tag Team titles last month, defeating Shugars and Osiris Griffin after Tony D’Angelo came in and laid out members of DarkState, causing Vanity Project to score the shock win. D’Angelo went on to meet Dion Lennox at Vengeance Day in a match that saw them brawl in the parking lot initially, with other DarkState members joining in. OTM came out to even the odds, allowing D’Angelo to take Lennox to the ring and eventually scored the victory.

WWE moves NXT Stand & Deliver away from WrestleMania weekend

WWE is making a big change for NXT Stand & Deliver 2026.

Stand & Deliver has traditionally taken place during WrestleMania weekend, but that will not be the case this year. The PLE will instead be held in the St. Louis area on Saturday, April 4, which is two weeks before Las Vegas hosts WrestleMania.

The Factory in Chesterfield, Missouri will be the venue for Stand & Deliver 2026. A ticket pre-sale begins on March 3 prior to tickets going on sale to the general public on March 4.

“I want to break some big news,” NXT boss Shawn Michaels said. “On Saturday, April 4, NXT will be bringing one of its biggest PLEs to one of the greatest wrestling cities in all the world. Stand & Deliver, Saturday, April 4, will take place at The Factory in St. Louis, Missouri. Tickets will go on sale March 4, with a pre-sale on March 3. And trust me, this is a PLE you won’t want to miss.”

The Enterprise Center in St. Louis is hosting SmackDown the night before this NXT PLE takes place.

NXT is coming off a big episode last night that featured three title changes. Myles Borne became the new men’s North American Champion, Vanity Project won the NXT Tag Team titles, and Elio LeFleur won WWE Speed gold.

The build to Stand & Deliver should pick up after Vengeance Day 2026 takes place on March 7. On the road to Stand & Deliver, NXT has stops in Houston in March 17 and New York City on March 31 for television episodes.
