The first match has been announced for the Monday, December 23 WWE Raw.
The Miz will go one-on-one with Dexter Lumis of the Wyatt Sicks on next week’s episode. The match was revealed during a backstage segment on this week’s episode as The Miz met with The Final Testament.
Miz thought that his association with Karrion Kross and The Final Testament group was over after their eight-man tag bout against the stable on last week’s Raw won by Miz and Final Testament. Instead, Kross said that Miz would be facing Lumis next week, and that they will be finished when Kross says they are finished.
The matchup will be the first singles bout for Lumis in all of 2024, and just his sixth match overall this year.
Next Monday’s Raw is being taped this Monday. We will have spoilers on the site as they become available.
During a tag team match against AOP on Raw, R-Truth was looking to give a hot tag to The Miz. Once Miz was in, he promptly kicked R-Truth in the face and left the ring, allowing AOP to hit their finish on Truth for the win.
In the last few weeks, Karrion Kross has been getting to the mind of The Miz, telling him on last week’s Raw that he wants Miz to be the guy who does whatever it takes to win. Once the Miz attacked Truth, Kross could be seen laughing at ringside.
Miz’s match against Bronson Reed last week ended up not taking place as Bron Strowman attacked Reed, causing the two to brawl all around the arena. Before Monday’s match, Miz attempted to talk to Strowman about interfering in his match. That led to the return of R-Truth, telling Miz that he got them a match against AOP.
Awesome Truth reunited as a team earlier this year when they joined forces to feud with The Judgment Day, who ultimately rejected R-Truth despite his willingness to be part of the group. At WrestleMania 40, the two won the Raw Tag Team titles that later became the World Tag Team titles. They ended up losing the titles to Finn Balor and JD McDonagh on June 24.
On WWE Raw tonight, a tournament will begin to decide the next challenger for Bron Breakker’s Intercontinental title.
WWE has announced that the number one contender’s tournament will kick off with a pair of triple threat matches taking place on tonight’s episode. They are: Jey Uso vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Karrion Kross and The Miz vs. Xavier Woods vs. Pete Dunne.
Breakker won the Intercontinental title from Sami Zayn at SummerSlam. His first title defense was a two-out-of-three falls rematch against Zayn on Raw two weeks ago where Breakker won two falls to one.
Zayn received stem cell therapy in Mexico recently to help deal with some nagging injuries. On Raw, he and Uso are back aligned after previously being in The Bloodline together. Uso is still looking to win the first singles championship of his career.
WWE hasn’t announced when the tournament winner will be getting their title shot.
Raw takes place from Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, Rhode Island tonight. It’s the last episode of the show before Saturday’s Bash in Berlin PLE.

More plans for this Saturday’s SummerSlam have been detailed.
The Miz announced during Raw on Monday that he will be hosting this year’s event, which will take place in Miz’s hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. During the segment R-Truth came in and told a few jokes, thinking that when Miz said “his house”, that WWE was bringing back their old In Your House events. Miz’s announcement ended with the promise that he’d bring the hors d’oeuvres.
It was also announced the Countdown pre-show event prior to the SummerSlam main card will be three hours, starting at 4 pm ET. It will go head-to-head with AEW Collision, which is airing at an earlier time of 5 pm ET.
The Miz believes John Cena is the greatest of all time.
Miz was interviewed recently by Sports Illustrated and praised his long-time rival. He said he had mixed emotions when learning Cena plans to retire and hopes to face him in the ring one last time.
“When I heard him say he was retiring at the end of next year, I had mixed emotions,” Miz said. “I’m proud that I’ve been able to share the ring with him and learn from him. I’m still using what I’ve learned from him in and out of the ring. I’m also sad. This is it.”
“Being in the ring with him is unlike anything else,” he continued. “He’s the greatest of all-time.”
“He’s a bona fide movie star now, but he loves this so much he’s still going to do live events. I still can’t believe this is it for him. I’m sad, but I’m also happy–this must be what he wants.”
“I would love one more moment with him,” Miz added. “We were rivals for so long, and just this past WrestleMania, the day after, I’m tagging with John Cena doing the ‘You can’t see me’ and giving AA’s to people. I never thought I’d ever do that. It’s interesting to be a good guy now. I’m not used to it, I’m not comfortable with people cheering me, but I’m embracing it.”
Cena was also complimentary of The Miz recently. In the trailer for Miz’s A&E Biography special, Cena calls him the most underrated wrestler in WWE history.
“He is the most, not one of the most, the most underrated WWE Superstar in the history of the business,” Cena can be heard saying in the trailer.
Since Cena announced his retirement tour, several current and former wrestlers have commented on the end of his career. Ric Flair recently stated that he would have “no problem” with Cena breaking his world title record. CM Punk also recently stated that he would like to have one more match with Cena during his retirement tour as well.
The Miz says he and CM Punk buried the hatchet before Punk returned to WWE at Survivor Series last year.
Miz confirmed to Adrian Hernandez recently that he spoke to Punk backstage at WWE’s show in Chicago on April 24, 2023. At the time, Punk was still with AEW but had yet to return to action following the torn triceps he suffered at All Out 2022.
“It was in Chicago and I was just walking down the stairs and he was standing there and we just locked eyes,” Miz said on the show. “Remember, he left a long time ago and has never been back and it always felt like it was just a never going to happen type of thing. So, to see him backstage, I was like what? We ended up having a really good conversation and it was one of those moments where just (it was) two guys talking and we kind of just buried the hatchet, I guess you could say.”
The Miz and Punk got into a public spat with each other in early 2020 when MIz made a joke on WWE Backstage about “changing the culture,” something Punk claimed he would do when he was announced as a host of the show. In a since-deleted tweet, Punk responded to a clip of Miz’s comments by writing, “Go suck a blood money covered d**k in Saudi Arabia you f**king dork.” Miz would later say that he didn’t know why Punk was upset with him and he thought the two were friends.
John Cena recently praised one of his greatest rivals, The Miz, calling him the most underrated WWE Superstar ever.
Cena appears in a trailer for the A&E Biography: WWE Legends episode on Miz, which debuts this coming Sunday, July 14, 2024.
“He is the most, not one of the most, the most underrated WWE Superstar in the history of the business,” Cena is heard saying in the trailer.
Day 1: underrated, under appreciated, and up against an immense amount of pressure and an overwhelmingly loud population of peers and public thinking I can’t do it and don’t belong.

“Who has ever done better? Who has ever proven more with their potential in WWE than the Miz?” Peter Rosenberg asks in the trailer. “Part of that is a tribute to his stick-to-it-ivness and the fact that he always had something to prove.”
A&E’s fourth season of Biography: WWE Legends premiered on February 25 with an episode focused on Randy Orton. Other wrestlers and topics covered so far this season include Sgt. Slaughter, Scott Hall, Diamond Dallas Page, “The British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith, Roman Reigns, Steve Austin’s Last Match, Eddie Guerrero, Ricky Steamboat, ECW, Rob Van Dam, Booker T, Lex Luger, Shawn Michaels, and DX.
WWE once again has two sets of tag team champions.
The Raw and SmackDown Tag Team titles were split up in the six-pack ladder match at WrestleMania 40 night one. A-Town Down Under (Grayson Waller & Austin Theory) won the SmackDown titles, while Awesome Truth (The Miz & R-Truth) won the Raw belts.
Since May 2022, the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team titles had been unified. But the two sets of belts were hung above the ring separately in Saturday’s ladder match. The rules were that the match would only end when both sets were retrieved.
Waller & Theory got the SmackDown titles first. The match then ended with a crowd-pleasing moment as Truth triumphed over The Judgment Day and grabbed the Raw titles for him and Miz.
Judgment Day’s Damian Priest & Finn Balor were the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions heading into WrestleMania.
The other three teams that competed in the ladder match were DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa), The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods), and New Catch Republic (Pete Dunne & Tyler Bate).
WWE announced on Saturday that The Miz will face Dominik Mysterio. R-Truth, who continues to believe he is a member of Judgment Day, has recently reunited with his former tag team partner Miz.
Miz and Mysterio have quite the history, with The Awesome One holding a 2-1 record over Mysterio in singles action. The Miz also captured a WrestleMania victory over Mysterio, having defeated him and his father Rey in a tag team match with Logan Paul at The Showcase of the Immortals several years ago.
Who will walk out the winner when The A-Lister takes on “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio?
Since returning from a torn quad late last year, R-Truth has insisted he is part of The Judgment Day. Finn Balor and other members of the group have expressed interest in sending the message that he’s not, but Damian Priest has held back, defending Truth to the rest of the stable.
Here is the updated lineup for Monday’s Raw:
CM Punk & Cody Rhodes face-to-face
Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre
Chad Gable vs. Ivar
Ivy Nile vs. Valhalla
The Miz vs. Dominik Mysterio
Seth Rollins will kick off Raw and address his future as World Heavyweight Champion
A couple of new matches have been added to the card for Monday’s episode of Raw.
Kofi Kingston vs. Ludwig Kaiser and The Miz vs. JD McDonagh will both take place on Raw this Monday night (January 8). Raw general manager Adam Pearce posted a social media video today announcing the bouts.

There was an angle on Raw last month where Imperium attacked Kingston while he was dressed up as Santa Claus. Jey Uso made the save for Kingston.
On Raw earlier this week, Kingston & Uso defeated Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci in a tag match. It ended in an unplanned stoppage after a spot where Kingston kicked Vinci in the face with a dropkick. Vinci tweeted that he was fine after the injury scare.
Kingston’s New Day tag team partner Xavier Woods has been banged up but is expected to be back on the road with WWE soon.
Miz & R-Truth defeated McDonagh & Dominik Mysterio in a tag match on Raw earlier this week.

Another title match has been made official for Monday’s episode of WWE Raw.
WWE has confirmed that Gunther will defend his Intercontinental Championship against The Miz on Raw this Monday (December 18). The match has a stipulation where, if Miz loses, he can’t challenge for the Intercontinental title again while Gunther is champion.
Gunther retained the Intercontinental title against Miz at Survivor Series last month, Since then, Miz has been looking for a rematch. He teamed with DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) on Raw this past Monday in a victory over Imperium (Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci).
Following the six-man tag bout, Miz confronted Gunther backstage and challenged him to a title rematch. Gunther agreed — but only with the condition that Miz can’t challenge him again if Miz loses.
Gunther has been Intercontinental Champion for more than 550 days. His reign began in June 2022.
It’s also been announced that World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins will address Drew McIntyre on Monday’s Raw. McIntyre is challenging for Rollins’ title on the Day 1 edition of Raw on January 1.
Monday’s Raw is taking place from the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa. A pair of Tag Team title matches are also set for the show. Here’s everything that’s been announced so far:

At WWE Survivor Series this weekend, Gunther and The Miz will face off for the first time ever.
Gunther is defending his Intercontinental title against Miz at Saturday’s premium live event in Rosemont, Illinois. In advance of the match, Gunther was interviewed by Sports Illustrated. Gunther said he’s looking forward to sharing the ring with Miz.
“I’m looking forward to the opportunity to being in the ring with one of the top stars of the past 10 years,” Gunther said. “I’m looking forward to proving myself against him.”
Gunther admitted that it will be a clash of styles when they face off, with Miz representing the more traditional WWE sports entertainment style.
“I’m not a typical WWE guy,” Gunther said. “I established and developed myself far away from WWE. Miz is different. He went through the WWE system, and he’s living proof of how effective the system is. He’s one of the most decorated wrestlers they’ve ever had. So it will be a clash of styles.”
While the matchup will be a styles clash, Gunther added that Miz will also need to bring out a different side of himself at Survivor Series.
“It’s great when I hear, ’Here’s your match, make it exciting.’ I do a lot of my storytelling in the ring. That’s what makes it stand out, and that’s what you’ll see at Survivor Series,” Gunther said. “Miz’s rah-rah stuff that he usually does, that won’t work against me. He’s going [to] need to bring out a different side to wrestle me.”
Miz became the number one contender to the Intercontinental title by defeating Bronson Reed, Ivar, and Ricochet in a fatal four-way match on Raw two weeks ago. Last Monday, Miz defeated Ivar in a singles match.
Gunther has now been Intercontinental Champion for more than 500 days. His reign began when he defeated Ricochet on SmackDown in June 2022.
Though Gunther currently isn’t able to wrestle outside of the United States, Gunther told Sports Illustrated that he should be in action at WWE’s Bash in Berlin premium live event in Germany in August 2024.
“I’m applying for my green card,” Gunther said. “During that process, you can’t leave the process for a little bit. But the PLE is in August. It should be over by then.”
One of the matches on Monday night’s WWE Raw didn’t end how it was originally planned.
The Miz won a fatal four-way match on Raw last night to become the number one contender to Gunther’s Intercontinental title. But Dave Meltzer reports that the match was supposed to end in a double pin. The finish of the match saw Miz pin Bronson Reed and Ivar pin Ricochet at the same time. Before the referee counted to three, Ricochet got his shoulder up.
Meltzer notes that Ricochet was not supposed to kick out. Meltzer believes Ricochet got “rocked” earlier in the match during a spot where his head hit the mat.
“Just a note regarding Raw last night. Ricochet was not supposed to kick out of the Ivar moonsault and it was supposed to be a simultaneous double pin,” Meltzer wrote. “That’s why it came across so awkward on television. I believe Ricochet was rocked earlier in the match when his head hit the mat.”
There was an angle where Ivar attacked Miz after the fatal four-way. Later in the show, it was announced that Miz will face Ivar in a singles match on Raw next Monday.
Miz is challenging Gunther for the Intercontinental title at Survivor Series on Saturday, November 25.
The Intercontinental Championship will be defended at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames.
The Miz won a four-way number one contender’s match on Monday’s Raw to earn a shot at Gunther’s Intercontinental title at Survivor Series: WarGames set for Saturday, November 25.
Miz pinned “Big” Bronson Reed after Reed missed a Tsunami in a four-way also involving Ivar & Ricochet to earn the title shot at Survivor Series. Ivar had Ricochet pinned simultaneously, but Ricochet kicked out at two while Miz held on to his cover on Reed to cement the win.
Ivar attacked Miz after the match and a bout between the two is set for next Monday’s Raw.
Zoey Stark won a number one contender’s battle royal on Raw to earn a shot at Rhea Ripley’s Women’s World Championship at Survivor Series and the first two bouts are now official for the event.
The current lineup:
WWE Survivor Series: WarGames, Saturday, November 25, 8 p.m. Eastern time on Peacock & WWE Network —
Intercontinental Champion Gunther defends against The Miz
Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley defends against Zoey Stark
At Payback on Saturday night, Cena served as the special guest referee for Knight vs. The Miz. Knight picked up the win after hitting Miz with Blunt Force Trauma. Knight and Cena then went face-to-face on the stage. It initially started out as tense but ended with Cena endorsing Knight. He shook Knight’s hand and raised Knight’s arm in the air. Cena then headed backstage, telling Knight that this was his moment.
There was a point during Knight vs. Miz when Cena twice had to pull Knight away when he was attacking Miz in the corner. Cena called the match fairly, doing the same thing when Miz tried to cheat.
This marks back-to-back PPV victories for Knight. Last month, he won the Slim Jim-sponsored SummerSlam battle royal.
After making his WWE return on SmackDown, Cena was at Payback as the host of the event. He stated that his job as host was to make the night special, so he would be the special guest ref for Miz vs. Knight.
Cena will be sticking around WWE for the next two months. He’s set to appear on every episode of SmackDown from September 15 through October 27.
Cena is teaming with Seth Rollins against Imperium (Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci) at WWE’s Superstar Spectacle live event in India on Friday, September 8.
