Report: WWE signs former TNA World Champion to contract

In what seemed like a growing inevitability, former TNA World Champion Joe Hendry has reportedly signed a full-time contract to join WWE.

Fightful Select reported the news Thursday night.

They reported that Hendry had “a number of months that remained on his TNA contract” and used representation to move forward with WWE. Hendry hasn’t wrestled for TNA since late-September but has competed on three NXT house shows since then.

Hendry didn’t appear at last month’s TNA Bound for Glory and is also not planned for any of this weekend’s action including Friday’s Turning Point streaming special or subsequent TV taping.

The 37-year-old has appeared frequently in WWE NXT over the last year and also made his main roster debut in this year’s Royal Rumble. He also was the surprise opponent for Randy Orton at this year’s WrestleMania after Kevin Owens had to pull out due to his neck injury. He debuted on the NXT brand in June 2024.

Hendry held the TNA World title for 126 days this year and had a lengthy Digital Media title run from 2022 into 2023. His second career run in TNA began in October 2022’s Bound for Glory.

TNA Impact live results: Bound for Glory go-home show

The road to Bound for Glory continues on tonight’s TNA Impact — just 48 hours after the big TNA vs. NXT Showdown event and 72 hours before the PPV.

TNA World Champion Trick Williams will kick off the show after abandoning Team NXT on Tuesday and ahead of his title defense against Mike Santana at the PPV.

The rivalry between former TNA World Champions Joe Hendry and Eric Young continues in a no DQ match.

After getting beaten down by the Nemeth brothers last week, Matt Cardona faces former TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth.

Following his impressive showing Tuesday against NXT North American Champion Ethan Page, Mustafa Ali takes on JDC ahead of their respective factions’ Hardcore War match Sunday.

TNA Knockouts Champion and NXT star Kelani Jordan and Sunday challenger Indi Hartwell will sign their contract.

Taped in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Tom Hannifan & Matthew Rehwoldt were on commentary.

It’s the go home show for Bound for Glory!

Trick Williams Opens the Show.  You know the show is taped because noted Philadelphia fan Trick Williams is on TV instead of glued to his for the Eagles game.  Mike Santana may have a story, but Trick Williams is still what’s best for business so he won’t be the TNA World Champion. TNA is forever “Trick-NA.”  Mike Santana came through the crowd to retort. Williams has not had to survive the physical and mental battles that Santana has. Santana talked about identifying his father’s body in the morgue and having to tell his daughter he was as addict, and failure was not an option for him at Bound for Glory. Williams told Santana he’d be back in rehab after he lost on Sunday to face the truth, that he was not better that Williams.  Santana called Williams a pretender with fear in his eyes, who was a “one trick pony.” Santana then called Williams “bound for developmental” after he loses the World title on Sunday. Santana got in some winning lines in this go-home promo.

— Tessa Blanchard told the same story about how Gia Miller couldn’t cut it at George South’s school, but with some newer comments from Gia Miller. “You had to move to a different country because you burned every bridge that you came across” was a GREAT line from Miller. I don’t know if this was an easter egg or not, but Miller did promise “karma” at Bound for Glory. (It probably wasn’t).

Matt Cardona defeated Ryan Nemeth (w/ Nic Nemeth) (5:58)

The fans chanted for “Chelsea’s Husband!” This match wasn’t giving “go home before the big show” vibes, more “last match in a long tv taping before the big show” vibes. Nemeth game Cardona a hangman’s necbreaker on the floor and nearly got the count-out win. Nic Nemeth choked Cardona with the ropes behind the ref’s back. Cardona missed a dropkick off the middle ropes. Nemeth got a near fall with a DDT. Nemeth goof around taunting the crowd too much and caught a dropkick for his troubles. Nic Nemeth tripped up Cardona, but the ref figured this out and ejected Nic. Nic flopped and sold being thrown out a million times better than his brother sold anything. After screaming the ref ejected his big brother, Ryan walked right into the Radio Silence, and Cardona got the pinfall.

— The Rascals did their “That 70s Show” gimmick. They need a match for Bound for Glory, so they’re going to talk to Santino.

— Mara Sadé cut a promo about how Jazz and Jackie were her inspirations, and how cool wrestling with with the Hardys was. She wants to be an inspiration and motivations to little girls. This was a good promo.

Mustafa Ali (w/ Order 4) defeated JDC (w/ The System) (10:26 aired)

The match started out with a cool visual of Mustafa and his guys on side of the ring and JDC and his guys on the other. Ali did a great flopping sell job off a right hand from JDC.  JDC gave Ali a high back body drop and followed up with a quick spinning powerslam for a near fall. Ali went for a springboard, but JDC caught him with a dropkick to send him to the floor. On the floor, Order 4 and the System staff off against each other, which allowed Ali to catch JDC with a dive and get an advantage.

Back in the ring, Ali caught JDC with a boot for a near fall. JDC came back with a clothesline that turned Ali inside out. JDC went to the top for a moonsault, but Ali tripped him up. Ali hung JDC upside down in the corner and went for a sliding dropkick. But, JDC got out of the way and Ali crotched himself on the ringpost. JDC delivered a massive superplex and both men were down for a bit.

JDC went for a falcon arrow, but Ali countered and hit a suplex of his own for a near fall. Ali hit a rolling neckbreaker and taunted the other members of The System.

JDC dodged a 450 from Ali and sent him headfirst into the middle turnbuckle in a sick bump. Ali went headfirst into the middle buckle twice as hard and fast as Bret Hart used to go chestfirst into the buckles. JDC followed up with a series of uppercuts and a Russian Leg Sweep. Ali went for a tornado DDT, but JDC countered into a falcon arrow for a near fall. JDC went to the top , but Ali dropped to the floor and his Secret Service tended to him. So, JDC dove onto the pile of them on the floor.

With Ali and JDC out, Tasha Steelz and Alicia Edwards lead their respective sides into battle on the floor. Alicia and Steelz fought in the ring while the men fought on the floor. Agent Zero sent JDC into the ring apron with the worst hanging tree slam I’ve ever seen (because this dude is not THAT big), but JDC sold it anyway. Zero tossed JFC in the ring, and Ali hit the 450 to get the pinfall.

Ali continues to be my favorite thing about this promotion.

TNA Injury Report:

  • Team 3D has been cleared for Bound for Glory.
  • Mara Sadè is also cleared and will compete in the Call Your Shot Battle Royal.
  • The IInspiration are cleared from bumps and bruises.
  • Elijah is still out.

— A recap of NXT/TNA ShoWdown. I was surprised TNA actually got to pull even with NXT at the end.

TNA Knockouts World Championship Contract Signing. In Santino’s words, this match will take place “close to Boston.” Kelani Jordan and Indy Hartwell came to the ring. Before things could get underway with the contract signing, the Concierge Guy interrupted. He was there to complain about the Elegance Brand losing the Knockouts Tag Team titles last week. The Concierge wanted to invoke the automatic rematch clause for Bound for Glory, and Marella needed to sign the contract right now! Marella signed the contract and the Concierge went away and part could have been an email. Hartwell talked about all the sacrifices she’s made to become the TNA Knockouts Champion, and was being a bit of a jerk about Jordan coming in out of nowhere to win the title. Kelani Jordan isn’t here to disrespect TNA, and wants to elevate the title. Hartwell’s family is flying 21 hours to Boston to see Hartwell win the title. Jordan wants Hartwell to bring this same energy to Bound for Glory. Both women signed the contract and then Jordan stood tall helding up the title belt while Hartwell got in her face. This segment almost needed a heel turn from Hartwell. It’s probably too soon for Jordan to lose but Hartwell should be the champion.

The Road to Glory: The Final Table. Lots of footage of the Hardy and Team 3D over the years. Brother Devon is going doing this to show his younger kids what he used to do. Brother Ray promised some “unplanned emotion because he despises planned emotion. Comments were shown from Jeff Hardy’s two daughters. This was good hype piece for “The Final Table.”

Leon Slater on Bound for Glory. Leon Slater, the youngest X-Division champion of all time, cut a promo from the entrance stage. Slater ran down all his accomplishments over the past year. He promised to carry forward the legacy that people before him like AJ Styles built. He’s not going to lose the title to an outsider like Ja’von Evans. A very passionate promo from Slater.

Final Card for  Bound for Glory:

  • Preshow match: TNA Knockouts Tag Team Titles: The Elegance Brand v. The IInspiration
  • Gia Miller v. Tessa Blanchard
  • Hardcore War: Order 4 v. The System
  • 20 Person Call Your Shot Gauntlet: With Léi Yîng Lee entering number 1 and Mance Warner entering at 20, and Xia Brookside, The Hometown Man, The Nemeths, and others.
  • TNA International Title: Steve Maclin v. Frankie Kazarian
  • TNA Knockouts World Title: Indi Hartwell v. Kelani Jordan
  • TNA X-Division Title: Leon Slater v. Ja’von Evans
  • TNA & NXT Tag Team Title Tables Match: Team 3D (The Dudleys) v. The Hardys
  • TNA World Title: Mike Santana v. Trick Williams

Eric Young defeated Joe Hendry  in a No Disqualification Match (14:30 aired)

Someone above Santino Marella made this no-disqualification match for Eric Young tonight. I feel like this may be a plot point later.

The fight went to the floor early. Young found a trashcan on the floor and used it on Hendry. Young then found a chain and used it to choke Hendry on the floor. Young choked Hendry with the chain for a while. Young whipped Hendry into the steel steps. Young tried for a piledriver on the stairs, but Hendry backdropped his way out of that.

Back in the ring, Hendry rammed Young’s head into the turnbuckles. Young feigned begging off to sucker Hendry into the corner. Young tossed Hendry to the floor again. They fought up the ramp and Young thumbed Hendry in the eye. Hendry’s big move to come back was a slam on the entrance stage. A forearm sent Young down the entrance ramp.

Young went for a piledriver on the stage, but Hendry backdropped him and Young fell to the floor. Hendry and Young brawled into the crowd. Young got a bit of a cut after having his head rammed into a garbage bin. They brawled back down to ringside.

Back in the ring, Young set up a chair in the corner. But of course, Hendry was able to reverse Young’s move and use his own chair against him. Hendry beat Young about the head and shoulders with some cookie sheets. Hendry dumped Young with a fallaway slam. Hendry went for the Standing Ovation, but Young raked his eyes to block the move. Young took a wild swing with a cookie sheet and missed. Hendry caught Young with an Olympic Slam onto a chair for a near fall. Henry set up a chair to give Hendry the Standing Ovation, but Hendry jawed to much about the no-dq stip and Young caught him with a low blow. Young then finished off Hendry with a piledriver on the chair, to maybe “cleanse” TNA of Joe Hendry.

Mike Santana Hype Video. One last hype video for Mike Santana on his quest for the TNA World Title. Pictures of his old colleagues (including Ortiz, and I think Eddie Kingston, as well as other Latin standout wrestlers) were hanging on a cage while Santana read a letter written by Konnan (which was also narrated by Konnan). In the letter, Konnan said there’s never been a Puerto Rican TNA World Champion, and Santana can cement his legacy by winning the World title at Bound for Glory.  Will Santana’s time come at Bound for Glory.

TNA has done a tremendous job building up Santana the last few weeks, and this final hype video really sealed the deal.

WWE NXT Showdown live results: NXT vs. TNA

In a feud building for months, the rosters of WWE NXT and TNA will do battle on tonight’s Showdown special on The CW.

Two eight-person Survivor Series-style tag team matches are on tap as are two title bouts.

On the men’s side, Team NXT (Ricky Saints, Trick Williams, Myles Borne & Je’Von Evans) take on Team TNA (Mike Santana, Frankie Kazarian, Moose & Leon Slater). Joe Hendry will be special guest referee.

For the women, it will be Team NXT (Jacy Jayne, Sol Ruca, Jaida Parker & Lola Vice) vs. Team TNA (Kelani Jordan, The IInspiration & Mara Sade). Jordynne Grace will be special guest referee.

In a winner takes all bout, NXT Tag Team Champions DarkState defend against TNA Tag Team Champions The Hardys while NXT North American Champion Ethan Page defends against Mustafa Ali who is getting the opportunity he earned before his WWE run ended.

The Dudley Boyz/Team 3D will appear on the show.

**********

This is it, friends! It’s all over but the shouting as NXT takes on TNA in what is totally not an invasion, it’s a SHOWDOWN!

With two massive elimination matches, a winner-take-all tag title bout and a defence of the NXT North American Title, it promises to be quite the Showdown indeed. And what’s on the line when these two companies clash, you ask? Why the ultimate prize in professional wrestling:

BRAND SUPREMACY!

-The Men’s Team NXT and Team TNA were shown arriving to work, all at the same time (presumably carpooling) and the Women’s Teams were shown preparing as well.

NXT Tag Team Champions DarkState vs TNA Tag Team Champions The Hardys

The tag team Champions vs Champions, Title-For-Title, Winner-Take-All match led off the show with the Hardys entering to a massive ovation while the Dudley Boys watched from the crowd alongside TNA President Carlos Silva. The Hardys set a hardcore tone off the top by wearing all white after Labor Day

Darkstate arrived in full force though, with all four members coming to ringside and jumping the Hardys before the match could even begin. The Hardys cleared the ring, but were still surrounded by DarkState until the Ref sent Cutler James and Saquon Shugars to the back, leaving Dion Lennox and Osiris Griffin

The Hardy’s kicked off the match with an exctended double team on Lennox before separating and leaving Jeff and Griffin to face off. Griffin used his size to control Jeff who tagged in Matt. Osiris hoisted him up, but tagged in Lennox. Matt went for a Twist of Fate, but didn’t realize that Lennox was now legal, so Lennox was able to knock him to the mat.

The Hardys fought back with Jeff taking on both Lennox and Griffin for a few moments before stepping on the gas with Lennox and dropkicking him. Jeff went for a Twist of Fate, but Lennox picked him up and put him on the ring apron (The Hardiest part of the ring!) where he and Griffin went high/low on him.

DarkState isolated Jeff in their corner and dropped some double teams on him before Lennox put a headlock on in the middle of the ring. Jeff tried to power out, but Lennox pounded him and hit a standing crossbody. Jeff tried for a tag, but Griffin cut him off.

Lennox came in for a double team and hit an absolutely nasty DDT on Jeff. Griffin begged off and Lennox continued the assault solo. The Dudleys continued to watch, much like us all.

Griffin tagged in and he and Lennox traded shots on Jeff in the corner. But, Jeff scrambled up the ropes and hit a spinning senton from the top turnbuckle on both members of Darkstate. That gave him the chance to get the hot tag to Matt who hit a DDT of his own on Griffin. He then pounded Lennox’ face into the turnbuckle while the crowd chanted Delete.

Matt hit a Plot Twist on Lennox, but Griffin broke up the pin at two. They hit a double slam on Matt, but Jeff broke that up at two. Osiris got Matt up on his shoulders while Lennox climbed the ringpost for a Doomsday Device, but Matt countered and hit a twist of fate on Lennox, then one on Griffin before taggin in Jeff.

Jeff hit a picture perfect Swanton Bomb on Lennox and pinned him 1-2-3 to retain the TNA Tag Titles and win the NXT Tag Titles!

Match Result: The Hardys defeated Dark State

Absolute banger of an opening match! Darkstate is always a powerhouse and the Hardy’s are somehow getting better with age. Loved it!

Women’s Elimination Match: Team NXT (Jacy Jayne, Sol Ruca, Jaida Parker & Lola Vice) vs. Team TNA (Kelani Jordan, Mara Sade and The IInspiration – Jess McKay and Cassie Lee)

Between the NXT Women’s Champion (Jayne) the Women’s North American and Speed Champion (Ruca), the TNA Knockouts Champion (Jordan) and the TNA Women’s Tag Champions (Lee & McKay), there is a literal ton of gold in this match. Also, on a personal note, I could not be more excited to see Lee and McKay back in an NXT ring. I miss that iconic twosome.

Special guesrt referee Jordynne Grace was shown in the ring as Team TNA made their way to the ring. This also prompted the first “Shucky ducky, quack quack” of the evening from Booker T. Vice led the intros for Team NXT and once everyone had arrived the match was set.

Jayne and Jordan kicked things off with Jordan getting the upper hand with a quick pin attempt. Jayne tried one of her own and the two wrestled around until Jordan shoved Jayne who bounced off the ropes and caught a blind tag from Vice.

Jayne reluctantly ceded the ring to Vice who was met by Lee and McKay who took her down and posed, iconically. Mckay stayed legal long enough to tag in Sade who dropkicked Vice. Vice responded with a waistlock, dragging her to the NXT corner for a tag and double team with Parker.

Sade fought back though and she and Parker traded blows in the middle of the ring. Lee made an iconic run in and all 8 women started brawling while Grace tried to regain control. The IInspiraiton ate a dive on the outsdie from Jayne, but Sade followed her out and Jordan went up top for a splash on the outside before Ruca flipped over the top rope and took everyone out.

Grace seemed all right to let the fight move to the outside, but was ready when Parker and Sade went back into the ring, making them legal I suppose. Parker hit a swinging neckbreaker on Sade after getting a yellow and red card from Grace.

Ruca tagged in and hit a superkick on Sade. She got her up in a stalling, stalling, stalling suplex and then flipped into a pin for two. Ruca tagged in Parker and Team NXT took turns taking shots at Sade in their corner.

Sade flipped it though, pulling Ruca back to the TNA corner where McKay and Lee tried to double team her, but she hit a double dropkick instead. Lee stayed legal and Ruca held her back until she got a blind tag crom McKay who joined Lee in double teaming Ruca.

McKay took shots at Ruca while a wave broke out in the crowd. Sade tagged back in and slowed the pace down, nailing Ruca with a knee to the back of the head. McKay and Lee tagged back in and tried a double flapjack, but Ruca reversed it into a double DDT.

Hot tags were made in both corners and Jordan charged Jayne who cleared the ring with a bunch of stiff shots. She hit a cannonball in the corner on Jordan and followed it up with a top rope senton. Jordan hit a cutter on Jayne which brought in Parker who hit a blockbuster on Sade then drove Lee into the corner with her shoulder.

Parker set Lee and McKay up in the corner and drop slammed them both. Sade hit a reverse x-factor on Parker though and went up top for a moonsault that missed Parker by about a foot. Parker hit a falcon arrow and got a pin, but Jordan broke it up and a brawl broke out.

In the confusion, Sade grabbed Parker from behind and pinned her for the first elimination. Ruca followed that with a blockbuster on Sade, eliminating her and evening the odds again. Jayne tagged in for an extended period, taking offense from all three remaining members of Team TNA in succession, but kicking out of any pin attempts.

Grace continued calling the match down the middle as Jayne put a fist into Mckay’s stomach and made a hot tag to Vice. Vice cleared house with kicks, putting McKay in one corner and Jordan in the other to deliver repeated butt-based blows.

Lee tagged in and Vice caught her with a back fist and a pin to eliminate her. Vice then grabbed McKay in a back submission hold and she tapped, leaving Jordan as the only member of Team TNA remaining.

The IInspiration caused a distraction on the outside on their way out, drawing Grace away from the match which caused her to miss Jordan pinning Jayne. Jayne sent Jordan to the outside and kicked her in the face, seemingly injuring her ankle.

Vice tagged in but collided with Jayne. Jordan grabbed Vice in an angle slam and got the pin to eliminate her, leaving Ruca and Jayne as the last members of Team NXT. This was all so chaotic, even the ring announcer was confused.

Jordan and Ruca battled in the ring, with Jordan hitting a facebuster on Ruca for a two count. Jordan went up top, but Ruca followed and the Jordan hit a spanish fly before trying a 450. She missed as Ruca got the knees up. Ruca hit a soulsnatcher on Jordan but Jayne tagged herself in and made the pin to give the victory to team NXT.

Match Result: Team NXT defeated Team TNA

Whew! Normally, I don’t really go for these elimination matches, but this one was a ton of fun. Everyone got a moment to shine and the muddiness that these matches can sometimes have was nowhere to be found. Also, I’ll say it right now for those in the back: Jacy Jayne is destined to be a superstar.

-Backstage, Matt Cardona was talking to NXT GM, Ava. He was looking for a spot on Team TNA and was asking Ava for some reason, but was interrupted by Josh Briggs who demanded a match against Cardona next week to pay him back for interfering in his match last week. Ava said she would work it out with Santino.

NXT North American Champion Ethan Page vs Mustafa Ali

Ali is a fantastic performer who’s run in WWE just never seemed to work out. It’s pretty exciting to see him back in an NXT ring and facing off against Page, the greatest Canadian alive (I’m legally bound to say that).

With the intros out of the way, Page and Ali locked up with Page sending Ali to the corner. Ali, who looks absolutely jacked these days, shoved him out of the corner and the two started trading wristlocks. The two put on a technical clinic for a few moments with Ali coming out on top with a cutter and a standing moonsault.

Ali dragged Page out of the ring and began slamming his hand against the apron. Page got a back elbow on Ali and then yelled at the commentary team. Ali hit a spinning DDT on page on the outside and threw him back into the ring.

Ali started going up top, but Page tripped him and wrapped his leg around the ringpost. Ali fell to the outside, writhing in pain. The ref checked on him and Page pulled him up to knock him down with a forearm shot before tossing Ali back into the ring for a big elbow drop or three.

Page tried to slow things down with a headlock, but Ali powered out of it. Page hit a Confidence Breaker, but only got a two count. He put Ali in a chinlock, working the tweaked neck. Ali fought out of it though and went to answer back but Page turned him over with a lariat.

They ended up on the top turnbuckle and Page tried for a superplex. Ali knocked him off and when Page tried again, he hit a sunset powerbomb from the top rope. He went up top again, but Page hit the ropes, knocking him onto the turnbuckle. Page went for a backbreaker over the turnbuckle, but Ali blocked it, so Page settled for snakeyes on the turnbuckle and superkick for a two count.

Ali collapsed after kicking out of the pin and Page started talking trash. Ali hit a dropkick and dodged a couple of charges from Page. PAge got a knockout blow sending Ali into the corner for another two-count.

Page went for the Ego’s Edge, but Ali wormed out of it and clapped his ears. Ali hit a tornado DDT out of the corner, but Page kicked out at two. Ali dragged Page to the corner and went up top for a 450. Page got out of the way though and delivered a kick to Ali’s head.

Page tried for the Ego’s Edge again, but Ali countered with a hurricanrana. Ali ducked two clotheslines and went springboard, but Page caught him and went for a twisted grin. Ali wormed out though and the tow remained at a stalemate.

Ali sent Page out with a headscissor and then dove through the ropes onto him, knocking Page over the announce table. Ali pulled Page back into the ring and went up top, but his foot was tangled in the mic cord. While he tried to get it off, Page shoved Ali off the top rope all the way to the barricade.

Page tossed Ali back into the ring and hit a twisted grin to get the pin and retain the NXT North American Championship.

Match Result: Ethan Page defeated Mustafa Ali

What an incredible match! That could be a match of the year contender for NXT. Page and Ali put on a back and forth clinic that should be studied. There was no point where I was able to tell who was going to win and it came down to bad luck for Ali. Killer match heading into the main event!

-In the back Hijo del Dr Wagner jr was interviewed about his issues with Ethan Page. They were interrupted by Lexis King who accused him of being Tavion Heights. Wagner left and Heights appeared behind King, shaking his head.

-After a break, the women’s Team NXT was shown celebrating in the back and by celebrating, I mean they looked at each other and went “oh yeah, we all hate each other” and parted ways. Ruca was left and approached by Zariah and Blake Monroe. Monroe said that their friendship wouldn’t last and that she was coming for one of Ruca’s titles.

Men’s Elimination Match: Team NXT (Ricky Saints, Trick Williams, Myles Borne & Je’Von Evans) vs Team TNA (Mike Santana, Frankie Kazarian, Moose & Leon Slater)

The Main Event of the evening looked so good on paper that I was able to stop asking myself “why is the TNA champion on team NXT?” and just enjoy these 8 men at the top of their game beat the hell out of each other. Joe Hendry acted as the special referee for this match and earlier in the evening was shown talking to both teams.

Team TNA entered first with Kazarian and Moose getting big cheers as they came through the crowd. After a break, Team NXT arrived with Evans and Borne coming out first, followed by Williams and finally Saints.

Evans and Slater kicked things off with a battle of the bouncy. However, before they could do anything, Kazarian and Williams blind tagged in and started brawling. Borne tagged in and hit an atomic drop and neckbreaker on Kazarian. Kazarian then pushed Borne into hit team’s corner where they started wailing on him. That brought in Team NXT and a full brawl commenced.

When the dust settled, Kazarian and Borne continued in the ring, with Moose trying to cause a distraction and missing. Kazarian hit a modified fame-ass-er and then a cutter to pin Borne and get the early elimination.

Both teams retreated to their corners as a disbeliving Borne headed to the back. Saints stared daggers at Santana and they started fighting with Santana hitting a headscissor, but missing with a charge to the corner. Saints put him down and tagged in Evans who went with strikes to soften up Santana.

Santana reversed it into a backdrop though followed by spinning Evans around with a backhanded chop. He set up Evans in the TNA corner and chopped him again before Moose tagged in. Moose jersey’d Evans (Canadians will get it) and hit a big dropkick before dragging him to the TNA corner and a waiting Kazarian.

Kazarian sent Evans into the opposite corner and slammed him. He followed that with a springboard leg drop, but Evans kicked out at two. Evans tried to battle back, but Kazarian went for a pin using the ropes. Hendry saw it though and called off the pin.

Williams tagged in and went to chokeslam Slater who got out of it and delivered a high kick. Williams caught Slater on the charge and slammed him, followed by a big kick. Williams slowed the pace and set up Slater in the corner for some chops. Slater ducked the third one and hit a Lethal Injection-style cutter.

Santana tagged in to face Saints and dropped him with a cutter. Williams stood up and he and Santana had a staredown ahead of their upcoming match at Bound For Glory. Williams tagged in Evans and Evans cleared the ring and began bouncing around with X-Division Champion Slater.

Evans started diving over the ropes onto each member of Team TNA. Unfortunately, when he got to Moose, Moose caught Evans in midair. Evans got out of it though and headed back into the ring where Slater was waiting and rolled him up for a three count. With Evans eliminated, Team NXT was down to two;. Williams and Saints.

Slater and Kazarian double teamed Williams with Kazarian making the pin attempt. Williams kicked out and Kazarian bounced Williams’ head off of Moose’s foot. Moose tagged Slater in and Team TNA started working William’s ankle. Slater hit a crossbody and delivered some punches before tagging in Kazarian.

Willams began fighting back, but Kazarian put him back down with a high kick. He began stomping Williams and hanging him up on the ropes. Moose tagged in and charged, but Williams dodged it. He want for a tag to Saints, but Kazarian pulled him off the ring apron. Moose took advantage, but Williams hit a back cutter. Saints got back up on the ring and tagged himself in to face Slater.

Saints hit a Falcon Arrow, but Slater kicked out at two. Saints went off the ropes, but Kazarian hit him in the back, giving Slater a chance to hit his Utopia slam. Saints went to tag in Williams, but but Williams hopped off the apron, refusing the tag. Williams wandered away from the ring as Kazarian took out Saints.

Williams walked to the back, leaving Saints to fend for himself against all four members of Team TNA. Kazarian put on a rear naked choke and tried to transition to a crossface, but Saints rolled it over and pinned him to get the first elimination for Team NXT.

Slater dove in to try and finish Saints off, but Saints kicked out. Slater set him up in the corner and charged, knocking him down. He went up top for a swanton, but Saints got his knees up, and turned Slater over for a pin and second elimination.

Moose took his turn next, sending Saints to the outside. Santana threw him back into for a slam and a senton from the TNA veteran. Saints kicked out at two, much to Moose’s surprise. Moose went for a powerbomb, but Saints reversed it into a DDT. He went for the pin, but Santana broke it up.

Santana started throwing hands at Saints, sending him staggering to the corner. He chopped Saints then hit a big slam, but Saints kicked out again. Santana went for a powerbomb but Saints flipped out of it a delivered a superkick.

Moose went for a spear, but Saints dodged it and hit Santana. Santana shoved Saints into Moose who hit a powerbomb and then Santana follwed up with a big slam to get the pin and eliminate the NXT Champion.

Match Result: Team TNA defeated Team NXT

-After the match, Santino and Ava were seen talking in the back. The GM’s congratulated each other and Ava asked Santino to bring the Knockouts division to NXT next week for a Battle Royal to determine the number one contender for the NXT Women’s Title.

Man, that was a good night of wrestling. The Men’s Elimination match was a little bit slower than the Women’s, but PPV quality stuff from all four matches on the card. TNA and NXT are a great fit and there’s some great stuff teased for next week!

Joe Hendry named guest referee for NXT vs. TNA Showdown match

Joe Hendry will be refereeing on Tuesday.

TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella announced on social media Sunday that the TNA star will be the special guest referee for the upcoming men’s NXT vs. TNA Survivor Series Elimination match that takes place on this Tuesday NXT Showdown. Santino’s announcement came after Joe Hendry on social media shared his reasons for wanting to be part of the Survivor Series elimination matches, pointing out his Royal Rumble and WrestleMania appearances as TNA Champion.

On this Tuesday’s NXT, Jordynne Grace and Hendry were both disappointed to find out that neither team NXT or TNA had any interest in them, with the TNA captains seemingly not sure what team they really supported. After Jordynne Grace asked NXT General Ava to fix the situation on social media, Ava announced that Grace had been named the special guest referee for the women’s Survivor Series elimination match.

  • NXT North American Champion Ethan Page defends against Mustafa Ali

Joe Hendry to appear at NXT vs. TNA Showdown special

Joe Hendry — currently stuck in the middle between WWE NXT and TNA — will be part of Tuesday’s Showdown special.

On social media today, Hendry posted a video announcing that he is coming to Showdown despite not having a spot on Team TNA. In storyline, Hendry was not chosen by team captain Mike Santana because Santana did not know where his true loyalties lie.

“Joe Hendry changed the entire landscape of NXT vs. TNA. I was the guy that got the call as TNA Champion to be in the Royal Rumble, to face Randy Orton at WrestleMania. My first appearance in NXT was the most-watched video in all of wrestling last year,” Hendry said. “And now you’re going to tell me that I’m not involved in Showdown? No. Guess what? They’re going to say his name — and he is going to appear at Showdown next Tuesday.”

At the moment, Hendry is being featured in both TNA and NXT. He remains a member of the TNA roster but is expected to sign with WWE full-time soon.

Santana, Frankie Kazarian, Moose & Leon Slater will be representing TNA against Ricky Saints, Trick Williams, Myles Borne & Je’Von Evans in the men’s Survivor Series-style elimination match on Tuesday.

Along with Hendry, Jordynne Grace — a former TNA wrestler who is now in NXT — tweeted out a promo voicing frustration that she was not trusted to be on either Showdown team.

The Showdown special is airing live on The CW at 8 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday (October 7). Here is the updated lineup:

WWE NXT vs. TNA Showdown —

  • Team NXT (Ricky Saints, Trick Williams, Myles Borne & Je’Von Evans) vs. Team TNA (Mike Santana, Frankie Kazarian, Moose & Leon Slater)
  • Team NXT (Jacy Jayne, Sol Ruca, Jaida Parker & Lola Vice)  vs. Team TNA (Kelani Jordan, The IInspiration & Mara Sade)
  • Title for title: NXT Tag Team Champions DarkState vs. TNA Tag Team Champions The Hardys
  • NXT North American Champion Ethan Page defends against Mustafa Ali
  • Joe Hendry appears

TNA president addresses Joe Hendry-WWE rumors

During an interview on the Battleground Podcast, TNA President Carlos Silva addressed rumors that Joe Hendry is expected to leave the company and join WWE full-time.

It was reported last month that Hendry is in the process of being phased out of TNA ahead of joining WWE on a full-time basis by the start of 2026. At the moment, Hendry remains under contract with TNA while also being featured in NXT. He is coming off a victory against Eric Young at TNA Victory Road.

Silva did not deny that Hendry will eventually end up joining WWE, but he told the Battleground Podcast that Hendry is still on the TNA roster at the moment.

“That’s correct,” Silva responded when asked if Hendry is still a TNA star. “Yes, he is. You know, he is until he’s not. But he is. And Joe’s been great. Joe’s been great for us. Joe’s been great with WWE and NXT. We’ll continue to sort of work through that as good partners do.”

Hendry, a former TNA World Champion, has made frequent appearances for NXT during the WWE-TNA partnership, along with showing up at the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania earlier this year. He’ll be working a live event for NXT in Florida this weekend.

Next Tuesday’s NXT episode is an NXT vs. TNA Showdown special. In storyline, the TNA roster has questioned where Hendry’s loyalties lie — and Mike Santana did not select him for Team TNA because of that.

The 37-year-old Hendry is from Scotland with a background in amateur wrestling and music.

Joe Hendry match added to TNA Victory Road

A new match announcement has been made for TNA Victory Road 2025.

Joe Hendry vs. Eric Young is now set for this Friday’s special, which will air live on TNA+. The show is being held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada with a start time of 9 p.m. Eastern. Edmonton’s Expo Centre is hosting the event.

This match has been building since Young — who says he is on a mission to cleanse TNA — attacked Hendry last month. On the most recent episode of TNA Impact, Young lost to Judas Icarus after being distracted by Hendry coming down to ringside.

Young then demanded that TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella give him a match against Hendry.

Hendry, who is still under contract with TNA at the moment along with being featured in NXT, is reportedly expected to join WWE full-time by the start of 2026.

Here is the updated card for Victory Road:

TNA Victory Road 2025 (Friday, September 26) —

  • X-Division Champion Leon Slater defends against Myron Reed
  • Knockouts Tag Team Champions The Elegance Brand (Heather By Elegance & M By Elegance) defend against The IInspiration (Cassie Lee & Jessica McKay)
  • International Champion Steve Maclin defends against Frankie Kazarian
  • Mustafa Ali vs. Moose
  • Joe Hendry vs. Eric Young

Note: TNA’s website is no longer advertising the Ash By Elegance vs. Masha Slamovich Knockouts World Championship match that was scheduled for the show. An internal investigation has been opened by TNA after it was alleged that Slamovich physically and mentally abused her former boyfriend AKIRA during their relationship.

Report: TNA star being ‘largely phased out’ ahead of full-time WWE arrival

Joe Hendry looks to be wrapping up his run with TNA ahead of joining WWE on a full-time basis.

It’s been expected for some time that Hendry would ultimately sign with WWE. He competed at WrestleMania this year, was an entrant in the Royal Rumble, and has made fairly regular appearances in NXT. That included a segment on NXT Homecoming this week where Bobby Roode suggested that Hendry focus on going after the NXT Championship.

Jon Alba of The Takedown on SI reports that Hendry is still under contract with TNA but is being “largely phased out” of TNA programming. The expectation is that Hendry will join WWE full-time by the start of 2026.

“Multiple WWE and TNA sources tell The Takedown on SI that Hendry is in the process of being largely phased out of TNA programming and integrated more into WWE TV,” Alba wrote. “The internal expectation across people in both companies is that he will be WWE-bound on a full-time basis by the beginning of 2026.”

The report stresses that Hendry being phased out does not mean that he won’t appear for TNA in the future.

“This is not to say TNA will not use Hendry on TV in the future, but The Takedown was told fans should expect to see him more prominently on NXT,” Alba noted.

Hendry, 37, is originally from Scotland and has gained popularity over the past couple of years with his “I Believe in Joe Hendry” theme song going viral on social media. He held the TNA World Championship for four months earlier in 2025. When he appeared at WrestleMania, Hendry brought the championship belt to the ring with him for his non-title loss to Randy Orton.

On WWE’s European tour last month, Hendry worked a series of house show matches against The Miz.

TNA Impact live results: X-Division title eliminator, Joe Hendry vs. Eric Young

With Victory Road coming up this month, a four-way eliminator match on tonight’s TNA Impact will determine the next challenger to X-Division Champion Leon Slater.

The bout will see Jake Something and all three members of The Rascalz (Myron Reed, Zachary Wentz and Trey Miguel) do battle in Miguel’s first match after an extended injury absence.

In a clash of former TNA World Champions, Joe Hendry takes on Eric Young after Young took him out several weeks ago.

In a clash of former Tag Team Champions, The Nemeth Brothers takes on The System’s Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers.

Moose battles AJ Francis while Jessie McKay goes one-on-one with Heather By Elegance.

The show is rounded out by Mike Santana in action as his October TNA World title shot against Trick Williams looms in the distance.

**********

Taped in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Tom Hannifan & Matthew Rehwoldt were on commentary.

Moose defeated AJ Francis (9:23 aired)

Francis is wearing gear in tribute to (I think) the Seattle Seahawks. Before the match got underway, Order 4’s Secret Service and Mustafa Ali came out, with Ali joining the commentary team for this match. Moose caught Francis with a nice dropkick to send him to the floor. Moose followed, and Ali distracted Moose so Francis could get a jump on him and take control.

Moose did a great job getting the crowd behind him while he tried to power Francis up for a suplex. But Francis reversed it so that was disappointing. Ali was disparaging the members of The System on commentary while Francis dropped Moose with a back suplex.

After a long break, AJ tried to suplex Moose, but Moose reversed it to a big pop. Francis came back with his pop up forearm, then shouted about money. Moose yanked Francis out of the ring and whipped him into the steel steps. Francis came back and powerbombed Moose on the ring apron. Back in the ring, Francis avalanched Moose. Then Moose did that running knee in the corner where he flips himself over the top rope that feels like a tribute to his most embarrassing moment in WWE.

Moose started to come back. Moose avoided a choke slam to hit a headbutt, then ran up the ropes and hit a springboard crossbody in a scary show of athleticism. Francis used the referee to avoid a tackle from Moose, then hit a spear for a near fall. Meanwhile on the floor, Ali had one of his Secret Service distract the ref. Ali ran in and super kicked Francis by mistake. Moose took out the Secret Service guy with a boot, then hit a spear on Francis for the victory. This match alone was about 10x better than last week’s entire show. Also I think Francis is starting to grow on me.

After the match, Moose challenged Ali to a one-on-one match at Victory Road.

— In the back, the other members of the System promised problems for the Nemeth Brothers tonight, and Order 4 down the road.

Joe Hendry v. Eric Young

So actually this was a setup, as Young changed the match to Northern Army member Travis Williams.

Joe Hendry defeated Travis Williams (3:14)

Young and Judas Icarus were ejected for interference. Williams jumped Hendry from behind but otherwsie got pretty much squashed. Hendry hit an Attitude Adjustment and the Standing Ovation to get the pinfall.

After the match, Young gave Williams and Icarus piledrivers as punishment for the loss.

— Matt Cardona dared Ryan Nemeth to stick his nose in Cardona’s business again.

Victoria Crawford’s Podcast. This segment was awful. It was an interview segment with Crawford interviewing Gia Miller on the entrance stage. Crawford accused Miller of keeping Tessa Blanchard at home, because Blanchard was suspended for attacking Gia Miller back at Slammiversary. Miller got in Crawford’s face, the crowd booed Crawford’s performance, and Jody Threat ran out to settle things down. Crawford promised (threatened?) to do the segment every week.

Myron Reed  defeated Jake Something in a four-way match with Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz for an X-Division Title Match at Victory Road.

Leon Slater was on commentary.

It was the Rascalz v. Jake Something to start. And Something took a lot of punishment but refused to go down. Eventually all three Rascalz took out Something with a triple plancha to the floor.

WIth Something out of it for a bit, the Rascalz went at it in the ring. Something came back and took out all three Rascalz. Something powerbombed Wentz onto the other two Rascalz and got some near falls off of that. The Rascalz only stood a chance against Something when they triple teamed him. To that end, the three Rascalz powerbombed Something out of the corner. Something caught Miguel with a Black Hole Slam, for a near fall, but Wentz broke it up. Wentz hit a springboard cutter for a near fall, but Miguel prevented the pin. While Wentz and Miguel were fighting over getting the cover, Reed hit a springboard 450 splash on Something to get the pinfall.

Myron Reed and Leon Slater will face off for the X-Division title at Victory Road.

The TNA Injury Report by BioFlex:

  • Mara Sadé is out with bruising.
  • Indi Hartwell and Jody Threat are both cleared but being watched.
  • Icarus and Williams are under observation after Eric Young beat them up.

— Frankie Kazarian offered Jake Something the chance to learn from the very best — himself.

Heather by Elegance (w/ M by Elegance) defeated Jessie McKay (w/ Cassie Lee) (3:06)

Heather went for a springboard moonsault, but McKay got her knees up. McKay went for her finish, but Heather escaped and rolled up McKay. Heather got her feet on the ropes and M gave her additional leverage to get the pinfall.

The Elegance Brand then attacked the IInspiration, so Santino Marella came out and announced that M would take on Cassie Lee after a commercial break.

Cassie Lee (w/ Jessie McKay) defeated M by Elegance (w/ Heather by Elegance) (5:10)

M tried to run away from the match, but the IInspiration drug her in the ring and the match got underway. M dominated from the onset. M hit a pump kick for a near fall. M stretched Lee with a surfboard. Lee escaped and took M down with a series of clotheslines and a spinning kick. Lee hit a lung blower for a near fall. While M occupied the referee, Heather hit Lee with a Drive By kick. McKay took out Heather while M climb the ropes. Lee pulled M down with a German suplex, then a spinning suplex to get the pinfall.

— Steve Maclin ran down his list of accomplishments as International Champion, and promises to make Frankie Kazarian the next name on that list.

— The Elegance Brand’s Personal Concierge asked Santino Marella for a stipulation in the TNA Knockouts World title at Victory Road. So Marella made the match no disqualification and made Indi Hartwell the referee. The Concierge kept talking and so Marella made the Elegance Brand versus the IInspiration for the tag titles at Victory Road, and then also made Masha Slamovich & The IInspiration v. The Elegance Brand in a six knockout tag team match next week. Heather and M had to drag the Concierge off before he gave Marella any more ideas.

— DIY made a match  with Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes for NXT Homecoming.

Mike Santana got jumped. Santana came out though the crow for match, but Trick Williams jumped him from behind. This was really well done, with the camera just catching a hooded Williams before he went out of frame. Williams then took of his sweatshirt and attacked. Williams got the better of Santana until the got to the ring, where security broke up the fight.

Next week on Impact:

  • Mustafa Ali v. Brian Myers
  • Dani Luna v. Indi Hartwell
  • The Elegance Brand v. The IInspiration & Masha Slamovich
  • Frankie Kazarian speaks.

The Nemeths defeated Brian Myers & Eddie Edwards (w/ Alicia Edwards) (11:59)

Nic Nemeth still has a pretty sweet dropkick. Myers responded with one of his own which was okay. Edwards and Myers worked over Nick in their corner with chops and knee strikes. Ryan ran in and got slammed for his troubles. Myers and Edwards clotheslined both of their opponents to the floor.

Ryan went after Edwards eyes and that allowed the Nemeths to take control. Nic avoided a charging Edwards to send him tumbling to the floor. The crowd got behind Edwards while the Nemeths worked him over.

Myers got the tag and hit a jumping DDT on Ryan. Nic distracted Myers, and Ryan hit a leaping DDT on Myers. Nic flew in with a top rope elbow drop for two. Myers crotched Ryan on the top rope, then got the tag to Edwards. Edwards gave Ryan a nice overhead belly to belly suplex. After a clothesline in the corner, Edwards hit an avalanche hurricanrana for a near fall. Nic hit the Famouser for a near fall.

Nic and Edwards took out their opponents standing on the apron, then collided mid-ring. Edwards hit a blue thunder bomb for a near fall. Myers clotheslined himself and Ryan Nemeth to the floor, leaving it Edwards v. Nic again. The Order 4 appeared on the entrance stage. The Great Hands ran in but Edwards cut them off with a tope. But when he tried to get back in the ring, Nic hit Edwards with the Danger Zone. Nic got the pinfall and the victory for his team.

After the match, Ryan Nemeth announced the Nemeths were invoking their contractually obligated title rematch clause for next week. The Hardy ran (well, “ran”) out surrounded by referees to confront the Nemeths. The referees kept everyone separated, and you can add Hardys v. Nemeths for the tag titles to next week’s Impact lineup.

TNA reveals two matches for next week’s Impact

TNA has made two matches official for next week’s Impact, with a third bout also teased.

Joe Hendry will go one-on-one with Eric Young on the Thursday, September 11 Impact episode. The bout was set up with a promo battle between the two on Thursday’s live Impact as Hendry responded to being attacked by Young backstage on a prior show.

Also official for next week, Moose will face AJ Francis.

Another bout for next week was teased in a backstage segment between X-Division Champion Leon Slater and director of authority Santino Marella, where Marella informed Slater that Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz of The Rascalz had both been medically cleared, indicating a potential triple threat match.

Thursday’s live Impact began the build to next month’s Bound for Glory pay-per-view in earnest with two title matches added to the lineup that already includes The Hardys vs. Team 3D, the former Dudley Boyz.

The first match for the September 26 Victory Road TNA Plus special was also made official on Thursday’s episode.

Next week:

TNA Impact, Thursday, September 11 —

  • Joe Hendry vs. Eric Young
  • Moose vs. AJ Francis

TNA Impact live results: Knockouts title eliminator, The Hardys in trios action

TNA Impact airs live from Minneapolis, Minnesota, tonight as the road to this month’s Victory Road continues.

Indi Hartwell, Dani Luna and Jody Threat will compete in a three-way with the winner moving on to face Knockouts Champion Ash by Elegance for the title.

On that note, the entire Elegance Brand will be on hand to celebrate Ash’s title win at NXT Heatwave.

In trios action, TNA Tag Team Champions The Hardys will team with Mara Sade against The Great Hands & Tasha Steelz.

After magically appearing at NXT Tuesday to aid Hank & Tank from Darkstate, Joe Hendry will be live in the ring with some thoughts to share about Eric Young’s recent attack on him.

Veterans Frankie Kazarian and Matt Cardona will compete one-on-one for the first time ever.

Our live coverage kicks off at 8 PM Eastern.

**********

Live! And free! From Minneapolis, Minnesota. I believe the building they’re in has a capacity of 8,000 and it look slike they barely filled the seats on the floor.

Tom Hannifan & Matthew Rehwoldt were on commentary.

Santino Marella In-Ring Promo. At the end of last week, Marella got into it with Trick Williams lawyer. Marella didn’t think with his head; he thought with his cobra. Marella announced that Trick Williams will defend the TNA World Championship against Mike Santana at Bound for Glory. Santana came out (wearing a TNA/Minneapolis “Strenght in Unity” t-shirt) to celebrate and promised to bring the TNA World Championship back home for his daughter, family, and all the fans of TNA. Trick Williams won’t be in back in TNA until Bound for Glory, so Santana promised to go find him. Santana cut a good babyface promo here.

— Gia Miller interviewed Mara Sadé and The Hardys, who are going to give the members of Order 4 the extreme beating they deserve in the main event later tonight.

— Moose wished Mike Santana good luck at Bound for Glory, and AJ Francis dimed out Santana for calling out Trick Williams. This led to a match between Moose and Francis for next week.

Frankie Kazarian defeated Matt Cardona (10:51)

Ryan Nemeth came out before the match to remind us that his big brother is returning tonight, but didn’t return here. Cardona told Ryan his big brother “sucks” and bopped him on the head with the microphone.

I know this show doesn’t stand a chance against the first football game in 7 months, but you’d think that TNA would have tried to use the 20 minutes there was no football on for something other than talking.

When the fight went to the floor, Kazarian used a still practically unconscious Ryan Nemeth as a human shield. Later, Nemeth tried to keep Cardona from getting back in the ring, so Cardona sent him into the ring barricade. But, the distraction allowed Kazarian to take control.

Kazarian whipped Cardona headfirst into the ringpost. Cardona teased getting counted out, barely being the count to get an easy pop from the crowd. Kazarian worked a chinlock for a bit. Cardona and Kazarian collided three separate times, hitting each other with crossbodies, clotheslines and big boots. Cardona started to mount a comeback. Kazarian ducked to the floor to avoid the reboot, but Cardona caught him anyway. Ryan Nemeth popped up to distract Cardona again, and Kazarian hit a slingshot cutter for a near fall. Cardona went for the Unprettier, but Kazarian escaped. Cardona hit a spinebuster for two.

Ryan Nemeth jumped up on the apron again, and this time Cardona brought him into the ring and hit him with the Radio Silence. When Cardona turned back to Kazarian, Kazarian caught him with the Fade to Black and got the pinfall.

After the match, Gia Miller tried to interview Frankie Kazarian. Frankie took the mic and interview himself while she stood there annoyed. Kazarian has his sights set on the TNA International Title. Kazarian insulted Steve Maclin’s military service, and Maclin chased Kazarian off.

— The IINspiration will be keeping a close eye on the Elegance Brand celebration later tonight.

The Elegance Brand Celebration. The other members of the Elegance Brand were in the ring, which was adorned in gold. A long distant (very long distant) relative of Picasso painted a portrait of the Ash with her Knockouts Championship. There was also custom champaign, “Elegance in a Bowl.” Ash took the microphone to cut a self-congratulatory promo, calling herself the “Savior of TNA” and insulting the former champion Masha Slamovich. Slamovich arrived and announced she’s getting a title match with Ash at Victory Road. Slamovich hit the ring and and got into a 3-on-1 fight. Xia Brookside and Lei Ying Lee come out to try and even the odds, but the Elegance Brand holds them off. Finally, the IInspiration ran out to chase off the Elegance Brand. And of course, the babyfaces destroyed the portrait of Ash.

The TNA Injury Report:

  • JDC remains out with a head injury.
  • Mara Sadé has been cleared after getting clotheslined by Agent Zero.
  • Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz have both been cleared of injury.
  • Trick Williams shows no signs of injury. Even so, he’s still complaining about the attack at the end of last week’s tag match.

— Mustafa Ali promised that anyone who opposes the Order 4 will be shut down, and that includes the members of The System.

Indi Hartwell pinned Jody Threat in a Triple Threat match which also included Dani Luna to become the #1 Contender for the Knockouts Championship at Bound for Glory.

TNA has been plugging “The Naked Gun” movie and I’m sure it’s not a coincidence they’re not mentioning Paul Walter Hauser’s role in it.

With Slamovich getting the title match at Victory Road, the winner of this match is getting a title shot at Bound for Glory. Threat hit both Hartwell and Luna with a tope to the floor. Back in the ring, Hartwell caught Threat with a boot. Hartwell went to the top, but Luna pushed her off the ropes. Luna hit a modified fallaway slam for a near fall. Hartwell tried to get back into the match and Luna dropped her with a Northern Lights suplex.

Luna clotheslined Threat to the floor, and Hartwell mounted a comeback against Luna. Luna came off the top with an elbow, but Threat broke up the pin attempt. Hartwell used Luna’s hand to backhand Threat. The crowd was behind Hartwell. Hartwell and Threat fought to the apron. Threat hit Luna with a somersault on the floor. Threat went to the top for something that missed, and they looked confused for a minute before Luna and Threat start exchanging small package attempts, and finally Hartwell caught Threat with a sunset flip pinning combination and held her down for three.

After the match, Dani Luna attacked both Hartwell and Threat. Nonetheless, Indi Hartwell will challenge for the TNA Knockouts Championship at Bound for Glory.

Joe Hendry Appears. Joe Hendry came out wearing a “Strength in Unity” TNA/Minneapolis t-shirt.  Hendry bragged about beating up The Miz on the WWE European tour and being the secret weapon for Hank and Tank on NXT. Hendry thanked the crowd for coming out to the show, then called out Eric Young. Young and his Northern Army members came out and Hendry a problem in TNA. Joe Hendry challenged Young for “right now!” But of course Young accepted for next week.

— Santino Marella is cooking up a big TNA X-Division title defense for Leon Slater now that the Rascalz are both cleared from injury.

— Trick Williams cut a promo on Twitter and said he’d rather be watching the Eagles/Cowboys came than be bothered with TNA right now.

The Hardys and Mara Sadé defeated Tasha Steelz & The Great Hands (John Skyler & Jason Hotch) (w/ Agent Zero) (12:59)

Sadé dressed like Lita. Jeff and Sadé gave a triple DDT to their opponents in a pretty cool spot. The Hardys might have been the most over act on the show. Sadé and Steelz squared off, and Steelz avoided a knee drop and sent Sadé to the floor. Back in the ring, Sadé caught Steelz with an enziguri.

Matt and Hodge got in the ring, and Matt deleted Hodge’s head into the turnbuckles. Matt hit a chop off the middle rope and called for the Twist of Fate. Agent Zero yanked Matt to the floor. The ref ejected Agent Zero. While Zero left, Hotch hit Matt with a tope to the floor.

Back in the ring, the heels took over on Matt Hardy. Matt dropped Skyler with a side effect, and tags were made to Sadé and Steelz. Sadé hit a nice looking powerslam for a near fall. Sadé went to run the ropes, but Hotch yanked her down by the hair and Steelz took control.

Steelz dropped a series of elbows for a near fall. There was a “Let’s go Tasha/Tasha sucks!” chant between like 4 people in the crowd.

Skyler cradled Jeff for a near fall. Skyler took the Poetry in Motion, a Side Effect and a splash off the middle ropes from Jeff for a near fall.  Jeff worked over Skyler with a side headlock. Hotch tried to help, but Jeff took them both out with Whisper in the Wind and got a near fall on both of them at once.

Matt caught Hotch with a modified Side Effect, but ate a slingshot spear from Skyler. With all the men out of the match, Steelz and Sadé took over. Sadé hit the “Finish Her,” but Skyler grabbed Sadé to give her the Great Hands finisher. Matt Hardy broke that up and gave Skyler the Twist of Fate. Sadé hit a moonsault, Jeff Hardy hit the Swanton and got the pinfall.

After the match, The Nemeths jumped the Hardys and took them out with the Danger Zone finisher. Sadé got in their faces, so Nic Nemeth superkicked her. The Nemeths held up the TNA tag team title belts to end the show.

Next week on TNA: Moose v. AJ Francis and Joe Hendry v. Eric Young.

Big Vinny V: Best Impact in weeks, G1 Climax highlights

For the first time in a long time, TNA Impact felt like a pro wrestling show and not a TV show about pro wrestling.
