AEW Worlds End media scrum notes: Tony Khan on WWE running head-to-head

Tony Khan and other AEW stars spoke out following Worlds End.

FTR,  the returning Adam Copeland, and Khan all took questions from the media following Saturday’s pay-per-view in Orlando, Florida. Here are the highlights:

Adam Copeland & FTR

  • Copeland said he had been cleared for a while, but talked to Tony Khan and decided to stay home in order to deal with the fallout from the hurricane in Asheville, North Carolina. He noted that his family had been brushing their teeth with bottled water for the last three months. He said that he was lucky to work somewhere where things like that could take priority.
  • Copeland said their plans are to go for the Tag Team and Trios titles, and also said he’d go after current AEW World Champion Jon Moxley in a match that’s ever been seen before, saying he wanted to have a gritty, grinding match akin to a old NWA World Heavyweight title bout. He said it would happen sooner than later.
  • Talking about their friendship, Cash Wheeler said all three are legit best friends and communicate all the time. He had been dealing with family issues of late and the only thing that got him on a plane to be here tonight was to be with Harwood and Copeland.
  • Copeland said he enjoyed rehabbing his injury as he likes the challenge of proving he can come back from injuries like a broken leg.
  • Dax Harwood said that the plan originally wasn’t for Fight for the Fallen to be in Asheville but Tony Khan came up with the idea to do Dynamite there and donate the money to charity.

  • Someone asked if the Hammerstein Ballroom could be a holiday tradition moving forward. Tony Khan said he was very open to that idea and pushed the success of the shows that took place last week.
  • Corey Lieb of this website asked about the negativity online and if AEW had a way to combat it going into 2025. Khan responded by saying there were people who poked holes in the success of last year’s All In despite selling over 80,000 tickets at Wembley Stadium. He said that there were many favorable figures about AEW including how AEW fans are loyal to the product, and he had learned things about the company through their recent media rights deal negotiations that he hadn’t known.
  • One person asked about the success of both Worlds End and WWE’s house show in Orlando on the same night. Khan said that was great for the business, as it’s great to have amazing support from the fans and shows how strong the wrestling scene is for the promotions to go head to head.

FTR ‘not coming alone’ to AEW Dynamite Fight for the Fallen

While FTR may not be able to exact revenge on the Death Riders until January 1st, they issued a statement to the heel faction during Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite.

In a taped promo from Asheville, NC, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler said they are not cleared to compete the rest of 2024 due to the backstage attack from Jon Moxley’s crew that took place on this past Saturday’s Collision.

However, they re-iterated they will be cleared in time for the Fight for the Fallen edition of Dynamite on January 1st from their hometown of Asheville, and they will fight the Death Riders. However, they are “not coming alone.”

The speculation is that former TNT Champion and fellow Asheville resident Adam Copeland will be coming with them. If so, it will be his first appearance since fracturing his tibia at this past May’s Double or Nothing in a barbed wire cage match with Malakai Black.

New match, FTR segment added to AEW Dynamite Holiday Bash

AEW has also announced that Hook’s feud with The Patriarchy will continue with Hook & Katsuyori Shibata facing Christian Cage & Nick Wayne in a tag match on Dynamite Holiday Bash this Wednesday.

Though they won’t be live in Washington, D.C. this Wednesday, FTR are still going to appear on AEW Dynamite Holiday Bash.

AEW has announced that we’ll hear from Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler on Dynamite this week. They’ll be appearing via video from their hometown of Asheville, North Carolina — addressing the show-closing angle from last Saturday’s episode of Collision. That show ended with Harwood & Wheeler being ambushed and seemingly kidnapped by Jon Moxley’s Death Riders faction.

“@DaxFTR & @CashWheelerFTR are home recovering after they were attacked Saturday by @JonMoxley and Death Riders,” AEW tweeted today. “We’ll hear from FTR, from their hometown, Asheville, NC, TOMORROW NIGHT!”

In two weeks, AEW will be in Asheville for a special Fight for the Fallen edition of Dynamite. It will be the first Dynamite episode to be simulcast live on Max.

Washington, D.C.’s Entertainment & Sports Arena is the venue for Holiday Bash this Wednesday. The Death Riders will have a trios match with Moxley, PAC & Wheeler Yuta facing Hangman Page, Orange Cassidy & Jay White.

Tag title eliminator, Continental Classic match, FTR added to AEW Collision Winter is Coming

FTR will call out Jon Moxley and his Death Riders on Saturday’s AEW Collision, plus two new matches has been announced for the show.

Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler promised to call out Moxley and the Death Riders on Saturday’s Collision episode during a backstage promo on Wednesday’s Dynamite. The Death Riders continue to run roughshod over the promotion as evidenced by the opening match on Wednesday’s Dynamite.

In a match made Wednesday between former allies, Top Flight will take on the new team of Lio Rush & Action Andretti with the winners facing AEW Tag Team Champions Private Party at some point.

A second Continental Classic Blue League bout is also set for Saturday as Kyle Fletcher will take on The Conglomeration’s Mark Briscoe. A Blue League tilt between Kazuchika Okada and The Beast Mortos has already been announced for the show.

Also announced for Saturday’s episode, Willow Nightingale and Jamie Hayter will square off in the International Women’s Cup qualifier finals with the winner advancing to Wrestle Dynasty in the Tokyo Dome on January 5.

Saturday’s Collision is being taped Thursday night in St. Louis, Missouri. The show will air Saturday, December 14 on TNT at 8 p.m. Eastern time, or following the conclusion of TNT’s NBA coverage.

House of Black advances to AEW Full Gear four-way Tag Team title match

The Kings of the Black Throne portion of House of Black will now be part of a four-way for the AEW Tag Team titles at next Saturday’s Full Gear.

Malakai Black & Brody King earned their spot on Wednesday’s Dynamite after defeating FTR when King put Dax Harwood out with a sleeper. While the two have held the AEW Trios titles, neither Black or King have been an AEW Tag Team champion.

It’s FTR’s first loss in a traditional tag team match since this past April’s Dynasty — a streak of eight bouts.

The two join reigning champions Private Party and The Outrunners in the match. The Acclaimed and LFI’s Rush & The Beast Mortos will clash this Saturday to determine the fourth entrant.

AEW Collision live results: Ricochet vs. Lio Rush

For the first time ever, Ricochet will battle Lio Rush in the one of the featured bouts on tonight’s live AEW Collision from Cedar Rapids, Iowa — the company’s debut show in the city.

Ricochet is looking to remain undefeated in singles matches while Rush is looking to rebound from a recent defeat to the debuting Shelton Benjamin.

Former AEW Tag Team Champions FTR will take on the new look La Faccion Ingobernable of Rush & Dralistico. In other tag team action, The Outrunners will battle MxM Collection.

Anna Jay will look for her sixth straight win when she faces Viva Van while Penelope Ford will make her in-ring return for the first time since February 2023 when she faces Robyn Renegade.

In search of a rematch with Hangman Page, Jay White will go one-on-one with Shane Taylor.

Wheeler Yuta will be on hand to talk with Nigel McGuinness in a sit-down interview.

AEW Collision comes to us live from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The show started with an exclusive video from after Dynamite. The AEW babyface army was surrounding the injured Chuck Taylor as he was stretchered out. Orange Cassidy shoved Daniel Garcia, saying he didn’t want to be involved because something like this would happen. Garcia told Cassidy that he had to do something about it now, and Cassidy said he would do something about it on Wednesday.

Tony Schiavone & Nigel McGuinness were at the commentary desk, noting that Chuck Taylor was recovering from the attack at the hospital.

Jay White (w/ Juice Robinson) defeated Shane Taylor (w/ Lee Moriarty)

I’m enjoying White’s work since his return, with his dedicated leg work giving him the slightest of openings to get the win. A Hangman Page rematch was fairly obvious after the interference in the Christian Cage match, and now we have a set date for it at the PPV.

White went for the leg of Taylor before Moriarty interference allowed Taylor to land a big forearm. Taylor landed a big leg drop on the apron before jaw-jacking at the fans. After a commercial break, White dodged a leg drop in the ring and began a comeback, chopping away at Taylor in the corner. White landed a dragon screw leg whip and a kneebar stunner before scoring a nearfall with a DDT.

Taylor took a clothesline before headbutting White and dropping him with a uranage. White ducked a lariat and caught Taylor with a flatliner, followed by a side suplex. White hit a big uranage of his own for a nearfall. Moriarty tried to interfere again, but Robinson bounced him off the apron. Taylor hit White with a knee lift, but suffered from the knee work White had done earlier. Taylor went for the Marcus Garvey Driver, but the knee gave out, allowing White to hit the Blade Runner for the win.

White took the microphone after the match, noting that both Taylor and Hangman Page hit a lot harder than he does. He said that he got under Page’s skin because, despite Page’s accomplishments, White has always been better than him. White offered Page one last shot at redemption, challenging him to a match at Full Gear.

Ricochet was backstage with Lexy Nair, who asked about MVP’s managerial offer on Dynamite. Ricochet said that he planned on doing his own thing, leading to Lio Rush entering the frame. He noted that he also got an offer from MVP before telling Ricochet to not overlook him tonight.

Kyle Fletcher and his big buzzcut were backstage with Lexy Nair, who said he was here on Don Callis Family business. He would keep an eye on Ricochet on behalf of Konosuke Takeshita. Fletcher said that if Will Ospreay answered his challenge on Dynamite, he would be going on the shelf for a long time. And if he didn’t? Ospreay would prove that he was a coward. Fletcher said that he would be in action next week on Collision either way, wanting a new challenge after disposing of Ospreay.

Penelope Ford defeated Robyn Renegade

This was Ford’s first match in nearly 750 days. Renegade got some offense in, including a rope-hung DDT. But Ford ended up scoring the win with a gutbuster and the Muta Lock. After the match, Jamie Hayter appeared on the JumboTron, taking a page out of Ford’s book. She reiterated her challenge for the November 6th Dynamite.

FTR & The Outrunners were backstage with Lexy Nair. They were hyping each other up for their respective matches before the Outrunners made their way to the ring, with Dax Harwood noting that the Outrunners road to the AEW Tag Team Titles began tonight.

The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd) defeated MxM Collection (Mansoor & Mason Madden)

The Outrunners are a solid comedy team. My limit when it comes to comedy is when my intelligence is insulted, and these guys are far from doing that. They’re just a parody of territory wrestling, and I can live with that.

We got posing from Mansoor and Magnum to start before a shoulder block took Mansoor down. Madden snuck a tag in before blindsiding Floyd with a back elbow. Johnny TV was watching backstage as Madden challenged Floyd to a test of strength. Madden bailed first, but the Outrunners peppered him with dropkicks to send him out of the ring. They shot Mansoor onto Madden on the floor as we went to a commercial break.

Back from the break, MxM kept Magnum away from his corner. They hit a leg lariat variant on the Hart Attack for a nearfall. Magnum fought his way to the corner and made the tag to Floyd, who ran wild. Madden caught both of the Outrunners with a goozle, but they fought him off and hit an assisted bodyslam. They dropped Madden on top of Mansoor before hitting the Predator elbow drop. MxM came back with the old Beer Money finisher, but Floyd kicked out. The Doomsday Device was countered, and the Outrunners hit Total Recall for the win.

Wheeler Yuta Interview with Nigel McGuinness

I really enjoyed this interview. McGuinness having some sympathy for Danielson after the attack was a nice touch, with Yuta framing it perfectly as the Joker being upset that someone else killed Batman. Yuta came across like someone trying to convince himself that he had no choice but to join Moxley’s crew.

Wheeler Yuta sat down with Nigel McGuinness, who asked Yuta why he suffocated Bryan Danielson at WrestleDream. McGuinness said that he wanted to hear what Yuta had to say because he had to answer for it one day. Yuta mocked McGuinness, saying that they killed Batman before the Joker could. He questioned whether that was what McGuinness wanted, with all of the trash talk McGuinness had spoken about Danielson. McGuinness said that he wanted to prove that he was a better wrestler than Danielson, but Yuta went much further than that.

Yuta said that they gave Danielson a warrior’s death. The American Dragon that McGuinness knew was long dead, and they just put him out of his misery and got him out of the way for the greater good. McGuinness asked where it would stop after Yuta helped put his trainer Chuck Taylor on the shelf. Yuta said that if it wasn’t for the BCC, he’d be sitting beside a corpse, hoping it would rise up to save the day. If they were willing to do that to the people they loved, what would they do to everyone else for the greater good?

La Faccion Ingobernable & Jake Roberts were backstage. Roberts said that while FTR had proven a lot in wrestling, they hadn’t proven that they could hang with LFI. Roberts gave away their game plan, noting that they would go after Harwood’s bad shoulder and that there wasn’t anything they could do to stop them.

Ricochet defeated Lio Rush

Despite being the smaller man, Rush was a very good aggressor in this match. A good match here, with Ricochet continuing to settle into his groove in AEW.

Rush was the aggressor to start, sending Ricochet to the floor with a handspring. Ricochet came back with a hurricane boot to take control. Ricochet caught Rush with a 619 in the corner, then stuffed a Spanish Fly attempt before rocking Rush with a knee. Rush feigned being knocked out before sending Ricochet to the floor and landing a pair of dives as we went to commercial.

After the break, Rush took Ricochet off the top into the ropes. Ricochet evaded a frog splash before running wild on offense, hitting a running shooting star for a nearfall. Rush fought Ricochet off with a stunner and cut him off with a clothesline. Ricochet countered the Rush Hour with a Blue Thunder Bomb for a nearfall, calling out Takeshita in the process. Ricochet went for Vertigo, but Rush caught him with a nearfall after almost shoving him into the referee.

Rush followed with a hurricane kick for a nearfall as well. A frustrated Rush grabbed a chair from ringside, but Ricochet booted it into his face before landing a Fosbury Flop. Ricochet sent Rush into the ring and landed his new finisher, a running elbow strike, for the win.

Roderick Strong, Matt Taven, & The Beast Mortos were backstage with Lexy Nair. The Kingdom was still trying to get Mortos to team up with them instead of LFI and offered him a candy bag. They didn’t seem to be getting through to him, so they had Mike Bennett in a Mortos mask to translate. Mortos growled in response to all of this.

Anna Jay defeated Viva Van

The announcers put over Van’s accomplishments on New Japan’s US shows, teasing this as a trap match for Jay ahead of next week’s Women’s Title match. Van caught Jay with a leg lariat after a misdirection. After a commercial break, Jay fired up with a chop exchange before landing a shotgun dropkick. Jay hit a Dangerous Jay kick in the corner before scoring a nearfall with an Iconoclasm.

Van caught Jay with an upkick, then followed up with a backfist for a nearfall. Jay came back with a backstabber for a nearfall. Van hammered her in the corner before hitting a springboard crossbody for a nearfall. Van pulled Jay up into electric chair position, but Jay slid down and pulled Van into a Gory Bomb for the win.

We got comments from Mariah May in a pre-tape. May said that if Anna Jay quit the business tomorrow, no one would care as another blonde would take her place and waste five years of her life. She mocked the idea of Jay as a role model, saying that people who never give up were never good enough to begin with. May learned in Japan what she’s learned in AEW, that there’s not a woman alive who could touch her. May called herself the woman from hell who would step on anyone’s dream and told Jay that if next week was sink-or-swim, May would drown her.

(May continues to improve as she goes on as champion, with her slight character pivot working well. A very good promo to set up next week’s title match.)

We got a hype video for Adam Cole vs. Buddy Matthews on Dynamite. The announcers ran down the card for Fright Night Dynamite and next week’s Collision, with the addition of Kyle Fletcher vs. Komander.

Kyle O’Reilly & Tomohiro Ishii were backstage with Lexy Nair. O’Reilly said it was laughable that The Learning Tree thought they ran Ishii out of AEW, and that the word of the day per Mark Briscoe was honor, which the Learning Tree had none of. O’Reilly turned his attention to Orange Cassidy, saying that he had never seen Cassidy so angry before. He would let Cassidy say his peace on Dynamite. When Nair asked O’Reilly about his focus on the Undisputed Kingdom on Dynamite, O’Reilly said that he kept his eye on everything in AEW and that he was good in the Conglomeration.

FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) defeated La Faccion Ingobernable (Dralistico & Rush) (w/ The Beast Mortos & Jake Roberts)

A hard-hitting main event here that earned the crowd after a while. Dralistico is always at risk for an off night, but he was on point here to contribute to a good Collision main event. This FTRunners deal has the crowd’s attention, and I wonder where they go with it.

As the match began, Jay White vs. Hangman Page was made official for Full Gear, with a note that we will hear from Page on Wednesday’s Dynamite.

Dralistico used his speed to outpace Harwood to start, but FTR got him in their corner for a quick double team to send him scurrying to tag Rush. Rush and Wheeler peppered each other with shots before FTR landed dual German suplexes to send them to the floor. Back in the ring, Dralistico caught Harwood’s attention and allowed Rush to send Harwood into the post.

After the break, Rush took Harwood on a tour of the barricades before LFI clubbered on him. Wheeler got the hot tag after a while and ran wild on both Rush and Dralistico. Dralistico came back with a springboard crucifix bomb, and both men slowly tagged out to their partners. Harwood and Rush charged each other with lariats before Rush landed a senton. Harwood ducked through both of their legs to set up a Wheeler double clothesline off the top rope.

Dralistico caught Harwood with a La Mistica, targeting the shoulder as Roberts said they would. Harwood got to the ropes as Wheeler ducked a Rush charge on the floor. Harwood hit a superplex, but a Shatter Machine attempt was cut off by Rush from the floor. Harwood got sent into Wheeler on the apron, with Dralistico scoring a roll-up nearfall. Wheeler cut off a Bull’s Horns attempt, and Harwood got a nearfall with a rebound powerbomb. Rush caught Harwood with a crucifix for a nearfall.

Rush and Harwood slapped each other as the crowd fired up. Rush fought off a Sharpshooter attempt to send Harwood into Mortos and get a roll-up nearfall. FTR sent Dralistico into Mortos before landing the Shatter Machine for the win. Mortos jumped Harwood after the bell, and LFI went to do more damage before The Outrunners ran them off. The babyfaces did the Predator handshake as we went off the air.

FTR vs. LFI added to AEW Collision

A second match has been added to the lineup for the Saturday, October 26 AEW Collision.

AEW’s Tony Khan has revealed another match set for Saturday’s Collision, a tag team encounter featuring FTR’s Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler vs. La Faccion Ingobernable’s Rush & Dralistico.

The AEW CEO wrote in a social media post:

The tag team bout is the second match announced late Thursday for Saturday’s lineup, joining a Ricochet vs. Lio Rush singles battle.

Cedar Rapids, Iowa hosts this Saturday’s Collision event. The show airs at 8 p.m. Eastern time on TNT.

FTR match to support hurricane relief efforts set for AEW Dynamite

Former AEW Tag Team Champions FTR will return to action on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite for a good reason: to benefit hurricane victims in North Carolina.

Announced Tuesday, Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler will take on The Learning Tree’s Big Bill & Bryan Keith to raise awareness for the Manna Food Bank, Be Loved Asheville, and the Asheville Dream Center, according to the graphic.

Both FTR members are from North Carolina. Asheville and the western part of the state were nearly decimated by flooding due to the recent Hurricane Helene. Harwood, Wheeler and Asheville resident Adam Copeland have been vocal on social media for help for their local communities.

Bill and Keith are 0-1 as a team, losing to Kyle O’Reilly & Orange Cassidy earlier this month. It will be FTR’s first in-ring action since the September 21st edition of Collision.

FTR to face The WorkHorsemen for Deadlock Pro

Two AEW tag teams will be facing off at a show for Deadlock Pro Wrestling this month.

The indie promotion is holding its biggest show ever on Sunday, October 13 with Super Battle taking place from the Grady Cole Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. FTR (Dax Harwood) are making their Deadlock Pro debut at the event, and it’s now been announced that The WorkHorsemen (Anthony Henry & JD Drake) will be their opponents.

FTR and The WorkHorsemen previously faced off on AEW Collision in September 2023 with FTR getting the victory in under five minutes.

After suffering a torn foot ligament this May, Drake is now returning to action. He and Henry compete as a team for both AEW and ROH. They are former Deadlock Pro Tag Team Champions, holding the titles for nearly six months last year.

Harwood, Wheeler, and Drake are all from North Carolina. Deadlock Pro has been based out of the state since launching in 2021.

The card for Super Battle also includes Calvin Tankman vs. Jake Something for the Deadlock Pro Championship, Adam Priest vs. Masato Tanaka for the Deadlock Pro National Championship, Shoko Nakajima vs. Dani Luna in the Battle of the Best finals, Kevin Blackwood vs. KENTA, and more.

AEW Collision live results: Bunkhouse Brawl for ROH Tag Team titles

A Bunkhouse Brawl for the Ring of Honor Tag Team titles headlines tonight’s live AEW Collision from Springfield, Massachussetts.

Sammy Guevara & Dustin Rhodes will defend the titles against former champions The Undisputed Kingdom (Matt Taven & Mike Bennett). The former titleholders lost the gold back on the August 17th Collision in Arlington, Texas, while tonight marks the first defense for the champs.

The show will feature an all star ten-man tag team match with FTR, Hook and The Outrunners uniting to take on the Grizzled Young Veterans, Roderick Strong, The Beast Mortos, and Rush. The Outrunners made the save for FTR last Saturday after they were attacked by GYV after their match.

Darby Allin, who is set to face Jon Moxley at Wednesday’s Grand Slam, will take on Evil Uno while AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May, who will defend against Yuka Sakazaki Wednesday, will square off with Lady Frost in non-title action.

Collision kicked off with plunder all around the ring for the opening match. Tony Schiavone & Nigel McGuinness were on the call.

Bunkhouse Brawl for ROH World Tag Team Titles – Dustin Rhodes & Sammy Guevara (c) defeated The Undisputed Kingdom (Matt Taven & Mike Bennett)

A fun, fast-paced plunder brawl to kick off the show. The Rhodes and Guevara team is working wonders, as Guevara gets to benefit from Rhodes and his eternal goodwill with the fans. I’d expect these two to continue to get shine on the road to All In: Texas next year.

The champions came out first in jeans and jumped the challengers on the ramp to kick off the title defense. Rhodes used his father’s belt buckle to carve up Bennett while Guevara hit a moonsault off the barricade to Taven. Bennett sent Rhodes into a chair in the corner to take him out for a moment. Guevara had a chair flung in his face to cut off a dive before the Kingdom hit a suicide doomsday device from the ring to the floor.

Rhodes menaced both of the Kingdom with a tazer, but they cut him off with a double superkick. Rhodes fought Bennett away and took Taven off the stage with a bulldog through barbed wire tables. Bennett sent Rhodes into the ring, but Guevara pulled him off the apron with a cutter through another table as we went to a commercial.

After the commercial break, Guevara climbed a ladder before a now-bloodied Taven shoved him off the ladder through two tables. A bloody Rhodes fought both men off with double crotch grabs, then got his hands on a cowbell and ran wild with it. Rhodes sent Taven into a chair with a powerslam, then suplexed him through the chair for a nearfall. Bennett sent Rhodes through two chairs with a Death Valley Driver, then held a chair in place for a Just The Tip with the chair.

Guevara cut off the pin and hit Taven with the Go To Hell. Guevara set Bennett up in the corner for Shattered Dreams, which Rhodes hit with a barbed wire cowboy boot. Rhodes hit the Final Reckoning, then held Bennett in place for a Guevara senton off of a ladder for the win.

Mark Briscoe, Kyle O’Reilly, & Hologram were backstage with Lexy Nair when The Premier Athletes immediately cut them off. Mark Sterling noted that his hometown of Springfield, Massachusetts named today AEW Day, and that he was going to make sure there were no Conglomeration shenanigans tonight. Mark Briscoe took offense, calling Sterling a “shenanigator” and bringing in Rocky Romero as an equalizer for their team.

We got a short video hyping Britt Baker’s return to the ring at the Dynamite 5 Year Anniversary show on October 2.

Tony Schiavone announced that after the events of last week, Queen Aminata demanded a match with Serena Deeb and will get it tonight.

Evil Uno was backstage with Lexy Nair ahead of his match with Darby Allin. He was upset that people were overlooking him when Allin entered the frame. Allin warned Uno that Jon Moxley was starting a war and that he looked down on everyone else in AEW. Allin challenged Uno not to wrestle him tonight, but to fight him tonight and prove Moxley wrong.

Mark Briscoe, Kyle O’Reilly, & Hologram (w/ Rocky Romero) defeated The Premier Athletes (Ari Daivari, Josh Woods, & Tony Nese) (w/ Mark Sterling)

Hologram took the first advantage of the match, evading Nese in the corner before hitting a ropewalk dropkick. The Athletes caught O’Reilly in the corner and laid the boots to him as we went to a commercial. I normally fast-forward the commercials, but there was one for the season premiere of 911, in which a truck crashed and sent 22 MILLION KILLER BEES into the streets. And they called a bunch of firefighters to…wrangle them up, I guess? I just about died. Why were there so many bees in a truck? What is Jennifer Love Hewitt supposed to do about it?

I wiped the tears out of my eyes for Hologram’s hot tag. He got cut off but tagged in Briscoe for his own hot tag. Briscoe hit a Death Valley Bomb and went up for the Froggy Bow, but Sterling cut him off. Romero got Sterling in place for a Hologram dive, and Briscoe hit the Jay Driller on Woods for the win.

Non-Title Match – Mariah May defeated Lady Frost

May blew McGuinness a kiss on commentary, allowing Frost to steal a roll-up for a nearfall. May took control with a Mariah-Go-Round spinning sidewalk slam. May took Frost off the top rope with a headscissors and hit a John Woo dropkick, but Frost came back with a cartwheel off of May’s back into a dropkick. May and Frost traded German suplexes before May hit a headbutt and a running knee. May hit the Storm Zero for the win.

During this match, it was announced that the Learning Tree would take on The Conglomeration (Cassidy, Briscoe, & O’Reilly) next week on Collision: Grand Slam in a Tornado Trios Match.

We got a video package for the Women’s Title match next week on Dynamite: Grand Slam between Mariah May & Yuka Sakazaki.

Willow Nightingale was backstage with Lexy Nair. Nightingale said that she was still hurting from her loss at All Out but was looking forward to the future. Deonna Purrazzo & Taya Valkyrie entered the frame to chew out Nightingale for not looking out for her friend Yuka Sakazaki over the past few weeks. Purrazzo offered Sakazaki protection, drawing Nightingale’s objection. Valkyrie got in Nightingale’s face, and a challenge was made for next week’s Rampage.

(I can’t say that a Purrazzo & Valkyrie team excites me very much.)

The Acclaimed were in the back. Caster insulted MxM Collection with a freestyle, saying that their style was weak and that MxM was stealing the Acclaimed’s style to get themselves noticed.

We got a video package for Darby Allin vs. Jon Moxley on Dynamite: Grand Slam that also brought up the group’s pleas to Wheeler Yuta to join them.

Darby Allin defeated Evil Uno (w/ Alex Reynolds)

Much better than it looked on paper, as Allin fired Uno up to fight hard in the pre-tape. Allin is one of the most consistently good TV wrestlers in the world, as he never takes a night off in the ring and always finds an interesting angle to approach a match.

Uno slapped Allin in the face to start, then clubbered on him in the corner. Reynolds distracted the referee to allow Uno to whip Allin with his belt. Allin came back with a suicide dive and tore into Uno’s mask, but a Reynolds distraction allowed Uno to pinball Allin around ringside. A piledriver got uno a nearfall. Allin caught Uno in a Bully Choke, a move that Jon Moxley used to beat Uno in the past, but Uno got to the ropes. Uno hit a buckle bomb and a flatliner for a nearfall.

Reynolds helped Uno fight off a sunset flip, forcing Allin to hit him with a suicide dive. Allin side-stepped an Uno cannonball off the apron, then hit a Coffin Drop to the floor. Allin hit a Coffin Drop in the ring to score the win.

We got a recap of the Hangman Page/Jeff Jarrett interaction from Dynamite. In video from after Dynamite, Jeff & Karen Jarrett were with Renee Paquette. To his wife’s dismay, Jarrett challenged Hangman Page to a Lumberjack Strap Match at Grand Slam. Jarrett named a few people he had in mind to be lumberjacks, like the Dark Order, Jay Lethal, & Satnam Singh. He had enough of Page’s attitude and his ego and was going to kick his ass at Grand Slam.

Serena Deeb defeated Queen Aminata

The crowd wasn’t into this match to start, chanting for Willow instead. By the end, these two earned This Is Awesome chants as they had a very good TV match here.

Deeb outwrestled Aminata to start, catching her in a seated surfboard stretch. Aminata had a short flurry before Deeb took Aminata down with a neckbreaker in the ropes. After a commercial break, Aminata fought out of an Octopus Stretch with a sidewalk slam.

Aminata made her comeback, hitting a swinging suplex for a nearfall. Aminata dropped Deeb with a German suplex before hitting a sliding kick for a nearfall. Deeb came back with a hammerlock lariat for a nearfall. We got a pinning predicament before Deeb hit a chop block. Aminata hit Deeb with the Brain Drain headbutt, but it sent Deeb to the floor. Deeb caught Aminata with a Dragon Screw on the way back into the ring, then hit the Detox in the ring for the win.

We got a recap of the Harley Cameron vs. Hikaru Shida match from Rampage. It featured interference from both Saraya & Jamie Hayter, leading to Saraya challenging Jamie Hayter to a Saraya’s Rules match for Grand Slam. Saraya & Cameron were with Renee Paquette backstage. Cameron ran down what Saraya’s Rules were, all of them essentially saying that Saraya could cheat and that Cameron could interfere.

Dustin Rhodes & Sammy Guevara were backstage with Lexy Nair. They put each other over before Guevara noted that he wanted two titles like Rhodes had. He challenged Kazuchika Okada to an eliminator match for Grand Slam and said that if he won, he’d take his title match at the 5-Year Anniversary Dynamite the following week.

(Sammy Guevara vs. Kazuchika Okada. What the hell does that look like? I guess we’ll find out next week.)

All-Star Ten Man Tag Team Match – Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson), Roderick Strong, Rush & The Beast Mortos defeated FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood), Hook & The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd)

This felt like a throwback to CM Punk’s Collision, with a multi-man tag main event that went one commercial break too long. It’s good to see Rush get a win, though.

Wheeler & Drake started, but a big brawl kicked off and the babyfaces pinballed Strong around before Mortos saved him from the Redrum. After a commercial, Mortos had control of Harwood and hit him with a cannonball. Rush tagged in and stomped on Harwood before hitting his pose. Gibson tagged in but got overwhelmed by Harwood. Hook tagged in but took a double clothesline from the Veterans for a nearfall.

Strong and Hook got after it, with Hook laying the rudos out with strikes before sending Strong flying with a T-Bone suplex. The rudos took control of Hook as we went to another commercial. Hook made the tag to Floyd, who ran wild with bodyslams. Magnum tagged in to hit the Predator elbow drop. They hit Drake with the Shatter Machine, but the pin got broken up and a Pier Six brawl broke out.

Gibson cut off Magnum with a throat chop. Magnum got worked on by the rudos into and through the commercial break before getting the tag to Harwood. We got German suplexes from the tecnicos before another Pier Six brawl broke out. Strong and Hook brawled to the back, and Rush and Harwood were left in the ring. FTR set up the Shatter Machine, but Mortos broke it up before hitting the spinning tornillo to the crowd on the floor. Another Shatter Machine attempt got broken up by Mortos, who worked together with Rush to lay Harwood out. Rush hit the Bull’s Horns and pinned Harwood to get the win.

Serena Deeb was backstage and challenged Britt Baker to a match on the 5 Year Anniversary Dynamite from Pittsburgh on October 2.

Nigel McGuinness Town Hall

A very good promo from McGuinness to close out the show. I liked Schiavone standing up for Danielson in his absence and calling out McGuinness for trying to manipulate the situation outside of Danielson’s control. McGuinness really got it across how his obsession with Danielson had driven him crazy and how badly he needed the Danielson match to prove himself right after over a decade of retirement. A great final sell for Grand Slam.

Nigel McGuinness was on the stage, noting that Bryan Danielson had still refused to answer his challenge for Grand Slam. He accused Danielson of faking his injury, and that the reality was that Danielson feared McGuinness. McGuinness said that if Danielson wouldn’t do it for them, and if he wouldn’t do it so his family couldn’t be embarrassed by him anymore, he should do it for the fans.

Tony Schiavone took to the stage and said that he knew that McGuinness was trying to manipulate Danielson into a match. He said that Danielson wasn’t afraid of McGuinness and that he would fight McGuinness if he was cleared. Schiavone said that in his five decades of calling wrestling, Danielson was the greatest wrestler he had ever seen. McGuinness said that if anybody else had said that to him, they would have gotten laid out.

He told Schiavone to sit back down, then told Danielson that it was his destiny to get one more match with Danielson. He spent years shouting at the moon about how he was as good as Danielson, but no one believed him. There were only two people who knew what he was saying was the truth, himself and Danielson. Danielson knew that McGuinness was better than him and refused to give McGuinness his vindication. McGuinness hoped Danielson showed up, and if he didn’t, he hoped the devil heard his prayers.

AEW stars FTR to make Deadlock Pro Wrestling debut

One of AEW’s top tag teams is coming to indie promotion Deadlock Pro Wrestling.

Deadlock Pro announced today that FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) will compete at their Super Battle show in Charlotte, North Carolina on Sunday, October 13. The show, which is taking place from the Grady Cole Center, is being promoted as the biggest event in DPW’s three-year history. KENTA and Masato Tanaka have also been announced for the event.

FTR’s match for Super Battle has not been announced yet. It’s a hometown booking for them with Harwood and Wheeler both being from North Carolina.

Indie appearances are infrequent for FTR, though they are also set to compete for Prestige Wrestling in Portland, Oregon on Sunday, September 29. They are facing Pacific Northwest tag team Midnight Heat (Eddie Pearl & Ricky Gibson) at that show.

FTR are coming off a victory over The Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson & James Drake) on AEW Collision this past Saturday. The episode ended with Harwood & Wheeler posing with The Outrunners after Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd saved them from a post-match beatdown.

A long-awaited match between FTR and Grizzled Young Veterans is set for tonight’s AEW Collision.

The feud between the two teams dates back to All In when GYV made their AEW return by jumping FTR after failing to capture the Tag Team titles from the Young Bucks.

TNT Champion Jack Perry will put the title up against Christopher Daniels who answered Perry’s open challenge during Rampage. He said while he is still an interim EVP, he is still a wrestler at heart.

Yuka Sakazaki, who has been out of action with injury, will make her return to take on Serena Deeb.

Other matches will see The Conglomeration (Mark Briscoe & Kyle O’Reilly) team with Hologram against The Beast Mortos and the Premier Athletes, Private Party & Komander will be in action, Bang Bang Gang will take on the Cage Of Agony, Queen Aminata will face Robyn Renegade, and Wheeler Yuta will face Anthony Henry.

Collision began with TNT Champion Jack Perry riding to the Nutter Center in his Scapegoat bus. He walked in from the parking lot and made his entrance for the opening match. Tony Schiavone & Arthur Ashe Stadium headliner Nigel McGuinness were on the call.

AEW TNT Title Match – Jack Perry defeated Christopher Daniels to retain

A simple TV win for Perry. I understand Daniels going for a measure of revenge against the Elite, but what are we doing here? Is Daniels still the Vice Principal? Is this power struggle still happening? Most importantly, would anyone care if this aspect of the Elite was dropped cold? It’s a bad story that would serve everyone better if they left it in the rearview.

This match came about after Vice Principal Daniels accepted Perry’s open challenge on last night’s Rampage. It was announced during the entrances that Hook vs. Roderick Strong for the FTW Championship was official for Dynamite: Grand Slam.

After the opening exchanges, Perry took advantage with a rebound lariat. Perry held serve, scoring a nearfall off of a missile dropkick. Daniels got a cut on the top of his head but was able to catch Perry with an STO. He fired up, hitting another STO and a Death Valley Driver for a nearfall. An Angel’s Wings counter led to a pinning predicament that ended with Perry sending Daniels into the mat with force by holding onto the ropes on an O’Connor Roll. Perry hit the Glass Jaw knee to retain the title.

After the match, Perry said that the people who don’t like him are the ones who can’t handle the truth. He then got on his bus and drove away.

A visibly distracted Wheeler Yuta was in the back with Lexy Nair, saying that he didn’t want to share any information about Bryan Danielson out of respect for his family. He hadn’t spoken to any of the other BCC members since All Out and would try to use Danielson’s lessons to focus for his match tonight.

Hologram & The Conglomeration (Kyle O’Reilly & Mark Briscoe) defeated The Beast Mortos & The Premier Athletes (Ariya Daivari & Tony Nese) (w/Josh Woods & Mark Sterling)

During their entrance, Sterling explained that he used some of Daivari’s money to pay off Mortos to help the Athletes with their Conglomeration & Hologram problems. Mortos seemingly took control with shoulder blocks to all three of his opponents, but Hologram came back with a lucha armdrag that sent Mortos to the floor. O’Reilly got caught on the wrong side of the ring, getting boots from everyone on the floor as we went to a commercial.

O’Reilly fought for the tag as we came back, getting the hot tag to Briscoe. Briscoe ran wild, getting the fisherman’s buster on Nese for a nearfall. Briscoe sent Mortos to the floor, but Nese caught the now-legal Hologram with a rolling uppercut. Hologram hit a Destroyer to Nese, kicking off a move train that turned into a dive train, ending with Briscoe hitting his step-up dive off an interfering Sterling’s back. Hologram hit a 720 DDT for the win.

After the match, Mortos attacked Hologram before O’Reilly and Briscoe fought him off.

We got footage of Orange Cassidy & Chris Jericho at last night’s CMLL Anniversary show. Cassidy was in a trios match, while Jericho wrestled Mistico in the main event. After Jericho’s match, Cassidy helped Mistico fight off a Jericho & Big Bill post-match attack. Cassidy was with Renee Paquette for an interview but was quickly attacked by the Learning Tree. They stuck Cassidy’s head in the stolen backpack before Jericho broke the Best Friends picture over Cassidy’s head…which was in a backpack. Seems a little backwards.

There was a short video – no pun intended – with Stokely Hathaway looking for some AEW tape to watch. All of his choices were tag team matches from AEW/ROH history, like Swerve in Our Glory vs. The Acclaimed & The Young Bucks vs. Sting & Darby Allin. It seems like Stokely may be interested in the tag team titles.

AEW Women’s Champion Mariah May was backstage with Lexy Nair, where she announced that she wouldn’t be having her championship celebration in the Wish version of Cincinnati known as Dayton, Ohio. May said that she had her best times with Mina Shirakawa and that she needed Shirakawa to properly celebrate. Yuka Sakazaki introduced herself and said that she wanted May’s belt. May said that she would rip Sakazaki’s head off, and Sakazaki promptly no-sold her.

Wheeler Yuta defeated Anthony Henry (w/ Beef)

This was a good match, with Henry taking advantage of Yuta’s absentmindedness until he brought up Bryan Danielson. Yuta is going to be a pivotal part of this BCC implosion angle one way or another, so it’s good to see him get some TV wins in the meantime.

McGuinness noted that Yuta forgot to tape his wrists, noting that he wasn’t in a good headspace and was forgetting details. Henry had control early on, hitting a double stomp. Yuta got hit with a forearm and attempted his rebound into the ring but fell to the floor instead. Henry dumped Yuta into the barricade with a suplex.

After a commercial, Henry scored a nearfall with an Air Raid Crash. Yuta was able to hit his rebound into the ring on the second attempt, scoring with a German suplex. Henry rocked Yuta with a knee, then caught Yuta on the outside with a running dropkick. Henry hit a top-rope double stomp in the ring for a nearfall.

Henry mocked Bryan Danielson, which fired Yuta up. Yuta clubbered on Henry in the corner before hitting a dive to Henry on the floor. Yuta took Henry on a barricade tour around the ring and dropped Beef with a boot. Yuta drilled Henry with the hammer-and-anvil elbows and got the submission with the Cattle Mutilation.

Serena Deeb & Queen Aminata were backstage with Lexy Nair. Deeb said that Aminata had a lot of potential, but she wasn’t ready to be a top star. Her offer to join Deeb’s Dojo still stood, but Aminata didn’t have time for it as she had her own match to get ready for. Deeb turned her attention to her opponent tonight, Yuka Sakazaki. She brought up their abandoned feud from earlier this year, saying that the mere thought of fighting Deeb caused Sakazaki to break her leg, and that Deeb would make things much worse tonight.

Anna Jay was backstage. She talked about her Japanese tour with Stardom, noting that she was tired and beat up, but still wanted more. She owed Mariah May a receipt and had never been in the ring with Mercedes Mone. Jay said that if anyone wanted to see how much better she was, they could try her.

Komander & Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) (w/Alex Abrahantes) defeated Jon Cruz, Lord Crewe & Ren Jones

In a pre-match interview, Private Party wasn’t happy with how their match got taken away from them on Dynamite by Jon Moxley’s Fight Cult – not an official name – and said that they have never backed down from a fight. Kassidy said that they would cross paths at some point. I don’t like Private Party’s chances.

This is apparently the match that was meant to happen on Dynamite. I like the continuity of running the match on the weekend show. Komander hit a big ropewalk dive, then elevated Quen into position for the Gin & Juice to get the win.

Tony Schiavone asked Nigel McGuinness how he could be sure that Bryan Danielson would be able to compete at Grand Slam. McGuinness said that he nor Tony Khan were sure. He explained that Jon Moxley was only speculating that Danielson would miss Grand Slam. Since Darby Allin put his scheduled title shot against Danielson on the line instead, McGuinness asked for a match with Danielson in case he was cleared in time for the show. McGuinness said that if Danielson didn’t show up, it would be out of cowardice, not out of physical inability.

McGuinness threw to a highlight package of his matches with Danielson in Ring of Honor, saying that no one had beaten Danielson as convincingly as he had. Sixteen years later, McGuinness was in the best shape of his life, while Danielson was a physical wreck. At the commentary desk, McGuinness said that even though Danielson would still be World Champion after Grand Slam, he would still end Danielson’s career in New York.

(This was both build for the McGuinness/Danielson match, and an attempt to patch over the plot hole from Dynamite regarding Darby Allin’s title shot. It was a fine attempt, explaining that Moxley basically conned Allin into putting his title match on the line. But if Danielson can possibly be cleared for Grand Slam, then Allin should still get the title match that he earned for that show. They worked themselves into a logic gap, then tried to smooth it over after the fact. I get doing the violent angle on the PPV to get people talking and get some late buys, but it would have been smoother to do it at Grand Slam itself to get Allin’s title match out of the way. He can earn another one down the line if that’s the direction they want to go.)

Yuka Sakazaki defeated Serena Deeb

While Sakazaki’s music annoys the hell out of me, she’s a fresh name for Mariah May to defend against.

AEW Women’s Champion Mariah May came out to commentary, asking McGuinness if she inspired his comeback. Sakazaki took Deeb around the world in a pinning combination, but Deeb came back with a neckbreaker in the ropes as we went to commercial.

After the break, Sakazaki made her comeback, scoring with a missile dropkick and a suplex. May kept assuming that Sakazaki was a child. Deeb hit a German suplex and a short-arm clothesline for a nearfall. Sakazaki fought out of a Detox position and hit a sliding lariat for a nearfall. Deeb hit a powerbomb and locked on a Stretch Muffler. Sakazaki got to the ropes and got back to her feet, trading forearms with Deeb until Deeb dropped her with a lariat. Deeb went for Detox, but Sakazaki pulled her up into a Northern Lights Bomb. Sakazaki hit the Magical Girl Splash for the win.

After the match, May jumped Sakazaki on the ramp. May went for the Storm Zero, but Sakazaki fought out and dropped her with a superkick. Sakazaki held up the Women’s Title belt as the crowd chanted her name.

We got another stylized video from The Outrunners.

Top Flight, Lio Rush, & Action Andretti were walking outside when Andretti got hot about their recent results. He was upset at how all of them had lost big opportunities this week, while the rest of the group tried to calm him down. Andretti said that they needed to get their act together and stormed off.

Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson, Austin & Colten Gunn) defeated Cage Of Agony (Bishop Kaun, Brian Cage & Toa Liona)

Kaun cut off Austin Gunn with a lariat to take control after the opening exchanges. After a commercial, Colten got the hot tag and ran wild, scoring a nearfall with a jumping chop to Liona’s head. The referee missed a small package trying to clear the ring, allowing Liona to hit a Pounce. The Pendulum Powerbomb from Cage of Agony got a nearfall broken up by Robinson.

Austin low-bridged Cage as he hit the ropes, allowing Colten to drop both Gates with a DDT. Robinson tagged in and ran wild on Cage. Cage countered The Juice Is Loose and hit a discus lariat, running wild on all three of his opponents. Another pendulum powerbomb got cut off, with the Gunns hitting Cage with the 3:10 To Yuma. Robinson hit The Juice Is Loose to get the win.

An angry Serena Deeb was in the back when Queen Aminata walked past for her match. She mockingly asked Deeb if her performance in her loss was how it was done.

Queen Aminata defeated Robyn Renegade

Aminata vs. Deeb can be a solid feud to get Aminata some focus.

Renegade gave a solid effort in her hometown, but Aminata scored the win with the Brain Drain headbutt. After the match, Serena Deeb jumped Aminata after the match with a chop block. Deeb held Aminata in a single-leg crab until the referee corps forced her away.

The House of Black were in their dark room. Matthews said that someone challenged them and that they didn’t like their odds. I think they were referring to Top Flight, as Andretti said something about Brody King in their segment earlier tonight.

FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) defeated Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson)

This was an odd result. The Grizzled Young Veterans just came in, and FTR are bulletproof as a team. Why put them over instead of the new team? This was a solid match, but it felt like they were holding back for another match.

Harwood and Drake traded shots to start, with Wheeler scoring a quick count on a slingshot shoulder block. Drake dragged Harwood to their corner and got a tag to Gibson, who helped Drake hit quick offense on Harwood to get the upper hand. Wheeler laid out Gibson with a lariat, allowing Harwood to get a nearfall on Drake with a sunset flip. Harwood hit a belly-to-back suplex as we went to commercial.

After the commercial, the Veterans had control of Harwood, hitting another flurry of offense to keep Harwood from making the tag. Harwood made the tag, but Gibson took the referee’s attention to keep the tag from being registered. Harwood ducked a leg lariat and made his way to the corner for the legal tag, allowing Wheeler to run wild. Drake countered a powerslam into a small package for a nearfall.

Gibson snuck a tag, holding Wheeler in place for a Drake enzuigiri. They went for Grit Your Teeth, but Harwood pulled Drake out of the ring. We got a pinning predicament, ending with Drake cutting off a spike piledriver and Gibson hitting a hammerlock driver. Wheeler cut off a Doomsday Device, allowing Harwood to lock on a Sharpshooter. Drake submitted, but the Veterans kept brawling with FTR after the match. The Outrunners came out to make the save for FTR and shook hands with them afterwards.

The card for Dynamite was run down, with the addition of Mariah May & Serena Deeb vs. Queen Aminata & Yuka Sakazaki. Also announced for next week’s Collision was Dustin Rhodes & Sammy Guevara vs. Matt Taven & Mike Bennett in a Bunkhouse Brawl for the ROH World Tag Team Titles.

FTR vs. Grizzled Young Veterans set for next week’s AEW Collision

A tag team match is set for next week’s Collision.

During Friday’s show, FTR was asked what was next for them. Dax Harwood officially issued a challenge to the Grizzled Young Veterans for next week in Dayton, Ohio, saying they’ve been jumped for the last two weeks by them and were ready to welcome Zack Gibson & James Drake to AEW formally.

Earlier on Collision, FTR came to the ring after GYV defeated the Iron Savages. The two teams brawled for a bit before GYV bailed.

GYV made a surprise appearance at All In last month, laying out both FTR and The Acclaimed following the three-way AEW Tag Team title match with The Young Bucks. On the August 31 edition of Collision, they attacked FTR again.

After leaving WWE last year, GYV had a short stint in TNA before departing in March. They also wrestled on the April 27 edition of Collision, losing to The Acclaimed.

Trios match added to AEW Dynamite lineup

AEW has made a new match announcement for tonight’s All In go-home episode of Dynamite.

FTR will team up with Darby Allin as they take on The Young Bucks & Jack Perry in trios action on Dynamite. The show is AEW’s Cardiff, Wales debut. It’s being taped at Utilita Arena this afternoon before airing on TBS tonight.

The trios bout will serve as a preview for two of the matches taking place at All In this Sunday. The Young Bucks are defending their AEW Tag Team titles against FTR and The Acclaimed in a three-way match at the pay-per-view, while Allin is challenging Perry for the TNT Championship in a Coffin Match.

Dynamite and Collision are both being taped in Cardiff today. The Collision episode will air on TNT this Saturday night, the eve of All In.

Two title matches added to AEW All In

A three-way for the AEW Tag Team titles is now set for All In.

The main event of Saturday’s Collision saw FTR and The Acclaimed wrestle to a 30 minute time limit draw in a match that had been set to determine The Young Bucks’ opponents for August 25. As the two teams argued in the ring, both ended up fighting. Tony Schiavone announced on commentary that Tony Khan had officially made the Wembley Stadium match a three-way.

After being the number one contenders for the AEW Tag Team titles for weeks, The Acclaimed got their shot against The Young Bucks on Wednesday’s Dynamite. The finish of that match had Matthew Jackson attempting to use one of the titles as a weapon. FTR came out to prevent it, but ended up fighting The Young Bucks when Matthew spit in Dax Harwood’s face, causing the match to be thrown out.

Also announced is a London Ladders match for the AEW Trios titles. The Patriarchy (Christian Cage, Nick Wayne, and Killswitch) will face off against The House of Black, The Bang Bang Gang, and a third team yet to be determined. The final slot will be determined in a wildcard match that will take place on Collision next Saturday in Wales.
