Independent promotion announces next show will be last ‘for the foreseeable future’

Deadlock Pro Wrestling’s next show may be its last.

The independent promotion announced Saturday on social media that aside from a show in Japan in 2026, their 4th Anniversary event on December 12 in Cary, North Carolina will be their last for “the foreseeable future.”

“It has been an absolute pleasure to produce DPW events these past 4 years,” their statement on social media read. “Thank you to all the fans, wrestlers, & everyone behind-the-scenes that made all this possible. We are extremely proud of what we have accomplished & we are excited to celebrate with a great anniversary event in December! Thank you for everything.”

It was additionally announced that the show will become a fundraiser event to help families in the area.

“All tickets to the event will be $1 (plus Eventbrite fees/tax) to allow anyone who has ever wanted to attend a DPW event the ability to do so,” they wrote. “There will be an option to donate on Eventbrite & we will be collecting donations at the event. All the money from the gate & donations from the December 12th event will be donated to a local North Carolina food bank, Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. DEADLOCK itself will match the gate & donations up to $10,000. The Eventbrite page will go up later this week.”

Based out of North Carolina, the promotion opened back in 2021. Talent that have competed in their shows include Colby Corino, Tom Lawlor, Mike Bailey, Jake Something, Emi Sakura, Konosuke Takeshita, the Grizzled Young Veterans, the Motor City Machine Guns, Mustafa Ali, and Roderick Strong.

FTR to face The WorkHorsemen for Deadlock Pro

Two AEW tag teams will be facing off at a show for Deadlock Pro Wrestling this month.

The indie promotion is holding its biggest show ever on Sunday, October 13 with Super Battle taking place from the Grady Cole Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. FTR (Dax Harwood) are making their Deadlock Pro debut at the event, and it’s now been announced that The WorkHorsemen (Anthony Henry & JD Drake) will be their opponents.

FTR and The WorkHorsemen previously faced off on AEW Collision in September 2023 with FTR getting the victory in under five minutes.

After suffering a torn foot ligament this May, Drake is now returning to action. He and Henry compete as a team for both AEW and ROH. They are former Deadlock Pro Tag Team Champions, holding the titles for nearly six months last year.

Harwood, Wheeler, and Drake are all from North Carolina. Deadlock Pro has been based out of the state since launching in 2021.

The card for Super Battle also includes Calvin Tankman vs. Jake Something for the Deadlock Pro Championship, Adam Priest vs. Masato Tanaka for the Deadlock Pro National Championship, Shoko Nakajima vs. Dani Luna in the Battle of the Best finals, Kevin Blackwood vs. KENTA, and more.

Deadlock Pro announced today that FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) will compete at their Super Battle show in Charlotte, North Carolina on Sunday, October 13. The show, which is taking place from the Grady Cole Center, is being promoted as the biggest event in DPW’s three-year history. KENTA and Masato Tanaka have also been announced for the event.

FTR’s match for Super Battle has not been announced yet. It’s a hometown booking for them with Harwood and Wheeler both being from North Carolina.

Indie appearances are infrequent for FTR, though they are also set to compete for Prestige Wrestling in Portland, Oregon on Sunday, September 29. They are facing Pacific Northwest tag team Midnight Heat (Eddie Pearl & Ricky Gibson) at that show.

FTR are coming off a victory over The Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson & James Drake) on AEW Collision this past Saturday. The episode ended with Harwood & Wheeler posing with The Outrunners after Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd saved them from a post-match beatdown.

Adam Cole to wrestle at upcoming Deadlock Pro event

Adam Cole is coming to Deadlock Pro.

Chris Danger was cutting a promo during a Deadlock Pro event on Saturday when the screen blacked out. Adam Cole appeared and informed Danger that he had some unfortunate news: he accepted Danger’s challenge, and the match will take place on November 12. Cole said that since Danger wants his first pro wrestling match against Cole, he’s being thrown right into the fire and we’ll find out if he can handle being burned. Danger said he’d walk through the fire on November 12.

Cole signed with AEW shortly after his WWE departure, where he is currently one half of the ROH Tag Team champions with MJF. They were successful in defending the titles most recently at AEW All Out, defeating The Dark Order.

At Dynamite Grand Slam, Cole jumped off the stage platform to help MJF against Samoa Joe, landing awkwardly in the proceess and having to visit the hospital. It currently isn’t known how severely injured he is or how long he’ll be out of action.
