Impact Wrestling live results: Three-way World title contender’s match

Thursday’s Impact Wrestling is headlined by two high stakes matches that will crown new number one contenders for two different title matches at this month’s Turning Point.

Matt Cardona, Eddie Edwards and W. Morrissey will clash in a three-way match to determine the next challenger to Impact World Champion for Moose. Edwards and Morrissey have feuded in recent months, while Cardona and Moose had a backstage brawl recently.

As a result of another feud that has been ongoing for months, FinJuice and Bullet Club (Chris Bey & Hikuleo) will meet yet again with a shot at the Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers on the line. Impact VP Scott D’Amore decreed that there must be a winner.

After Madison Rayne and Kaleb with a K complained to Impact management about their treatment in the company, D’Amore awarded the two with matches Thursday. Rayne will face the next contender for the Knockouts title in Mercedes Martinez while Kaleb will take on Minoru Suzuki.

Also, The Undead Bridesmaids (Kimber Lee & Brandi Lauren) will face former Knockouts Tag Team Champions Decay (Havok & Rosemary) as current champions The IInspiration try to soften up the former titleholders ahead of their Turning Point rematch.

The BTI pre-show match is Savannah Evans vs. Rachael Ellering.

Bullet Club (El Phantasmo & Chris Bey) (w/ Hikuleo) defeated FinJuice (David Finlay & Juice Robinson) to earn a Tag Team title shot at Turning Point

Both teams have been chasing the titles, held by The Good Brothers. Last week, FinJuice came close to earning that fair shot they have been asking for, only for the Bullet Club to come out and interrupt the match. Scott D’Amore instead signed this match to crown the number one contenders.

This was similar to the match these teams have had in the past months. FinJuice started strong against Bey, but when Robinson was in there, Hikuleo and ELP started to distract him and eventually, they cut him off from his corner. 

Bullet Club worked over Robinson for a couple of minutes. This was mostly ELP doing some of his shenanigans, but it wasn’t long before Finlay got the hot tag. FinJuice isolated Bey for their offense, eventually going for the Doomsday Device. After a distraction from ELP and Hikuleo, Finlay instead went to take them out, leaving Robinson in the ring to get reversed by Bey, superkicked by ELP and pinned. 

After the match, Anderson and Gallows came out and brawled with Bullet Club, ending with Hikuleo taking out Gallows as Bullet Club controlled the ring. 

— Gia Miller interviewed D’Amore about the three-way main event to find the new top contender for the World title. She asked why Josh Alexander wasn’t added to the match. Before D’Amore could answer, he was confronted by Alexander about it. D’Amore told Alexander that he wasn’t getting a shot until he fixed his focus issues. So instead, he was going to book Alexander vs. Minoru Suzuki so he could deal with him. Later on, he can continue his chase for the World title.

— We got a recap of last week’s BTI where Sam Beale pinned Brian Myers. Afterward, we got a new installment of Myers’ lessons where he berated VSK and Zicky Dice for losing last week. It was mostly a comedy skit with Dice getting slapped every time he or VSK talked. Myers ended the segment challenging Beale to a one-on-one match. 

Minoru Suzuki defeated Kaleb with a K

There is no story to this match as it was just a quick squash to showcase Suzuki. Kaleb ran away from Suzuki at first and then tried to attack, but Suzuki easily blocked him and turned it into a submission. Suzuki won with the GSP.  During the match, we saw Alexander watching from the back.

— Miller interviewed Moose about his potential challengers at Turning Point. Moose ran down the names, but in the end, he wasn’t concerned since he was the most dangerous man in all of professional wrestling.

Decay (Havok & Rosemary) defeated Undead Bridesmaids (Kimber Lee & Brandi Lauren)

This match came from Knockouts Tag Team Champions The IInspiration after they convinced the Bridesmaids to take on Decay prior to the IInspiration’s title defense at Turning Point against the former champions in Decay. 

The match started with Decay taking out both Bridesmaids, but at that point, both Cassie Lee and Jesse McKay came out to interrupt and set themselves up on the ramp to watch the match. 

With the distraction, the Bridesmaids were able to jump Decay and take control, separating Rosemary from her corner. The Bridesmaids showed some tag team work with a couple of double team combos, but Rosemary was still able to make a comeback against Lauren and tag in Havok. Decay got the win with the backbreaker and spear combo on Lauren. 

After the match, The IInspiration came down to the ring, but avoided crossing paths with Decay.

— Heath and Rhino cut a promo about Heath’s rough year being out with an injury. Heath said that the tension between them and Violent By Design wasn’t over. Rhino said he wanted revenge against Eric Young, so they challenged VBD. Great promo by Rhino.

— We got footage of last week where Madison Rayne and Kaleb complained about losing to Mickie James. D’Amore approached them and booked Rayne vs. Mercedes Martinez.

Mercedes Martinez defeated Madison Rayne

Martinez is the current number one contender to the Knockouts Championship, held by Mickie James.

The match wasn’t that good. Martinez started with a delayed vertical suplex for a near fall. She tried to follow with a crucifix bomb, but Rayne escaped, hit a code breaker, and cut off Martinez for a bit with a cravat and some knees. 

Martinez came back with a tiger driver for another near fall, followed with some strikes and a short DDT. Rayne got a near fall with an enzuigiri and a blockbuster, but couldn’t keep her down. Mercedes finally got the win with a jumping knee and a schoolgirl pin. 

After the match, Rayne jumped Martinez and dropped her with a ripcord cutter. Afterwards, she attacked Martinez with a chair until James came out for the save. That was a lot of offense for Rayne against the number one contender. After Rayne left, Martinez no-sold the attack and dropped James with her driver.

— Steve Maclin cut a promo talking about losing in the last few weeks, but that he is still unpinned and unsubmitted. He said he deserved to be in the X-Division title match at Turning Point. Trey Miguel confronted him and told him if he wanted to get pinned, all he needed was to ask. Miguel asked D’Amore to make it a triple threat at Turning Point. D’Amore instead told Maclin that if he can defeat Laredo Kid next week, he gets added to the match.

— Beale addressed Brian Myers and accepted his challenge for next week. He talked about learning so much from him and knowing him well after having followed Myers for months. He told Willie Mack and Rich Swann to stay in the back, because he needed to take on Myers by himself. 

Rohit Raju (w/ Raj Singh) defeated Rocky Romero

We saw footage from last week where Raju confronted Romero about jumping in line and getting a shot at the X-Division title, so he challenged Romero to a match.

It started with both men showing off and wrestling with some mirror spots into the standoff. It wasn’t long before Romero gained the advantage with his sneaky style and some lucha ranas. 

The match continued back and forth except Raju managed to hurt Romero’s back and arm and thus gained more and more control as they went on. Singh also helped Raju every time that Raju could distract the referee.

Romero made a comeback with the forever lariats. Romero hit a double footstomp on Raju for a two count, followed with a backslide, but Raju blocked. Romero hit a satellite DDT for yet another near fall. Raju got a near fall himself with a flatliner, but as he tried to capitalize, Romero locked in an armbar, prompting Singh to distract the referee. Romero took out Singh and hit a sliced bread on Raju, but he still couldn’t get the win. 

The finish finally saw Raju block a tornado DDT, hit a drive-by kick, and get the win in a really good match. 

— Hernandez told Johnny Swinger that he asked D’Amore for a match against The Demon and Decay for next week. John E. Bravo brought in Fallah Bahh to be the third man for the team.

— Chelsea Green cut a promo about becoming the new number one contender to the Digital Media title, so D’Amore booked Green vs. Jake Something vs. Matthew Rehwoldt vs. Alisha Edwards. The winner gets a shot at Digital Media Champion Jordynne Grace.

— Also next week, Knockouts Tag Team Champions The Iinspiration vs. Undead Bridesmaids in non-title action; Laredo Kid vs. Steve Maclin for a spot at the Turning Point X-Division title match; the return of Deonna Purrazzo and in the main event, Suzuki vs. Alexander.

Eddie Edwards defeated W. Morrissey and Matt Cardona to earn an Impact World title match

After last week’s main event, D’Amore booked this match where the winner gets a shot at Moose in the Turning Point main event. As previously explained in the show, D’Amore decided to not give Alexander the spot until he fixed his focus issues.

With Morrissey being the biggest man, both Edwards and Cardona went after him first, but he easily took them out with boots. He tossed Edwards to the floor and worked on Cardona in the ring. Edwards recovered and he and Cardona managed to take down Morrissey for a bit, but Morrissey quickly recovered and took them down with a double chokeslam. 

Morrissey maintained control, keeping Edwards out of the ring and working on Cardona. Later down, Edwards returned when Cardona had been taken out to the floor and managed to get some offense in, but it wasn’t long before Morrissey stopped him with a fallaway slam. 

Edwards made a comeback and traded strikes with Morrissey, but he couldn’t keep up. Cardona and Edwards once again teamed up and took Morrissey down with a code breaker and blue thunder bomb combo, but neither man could capitalize. 

Morrissey dropped them with a double suplex, followed by a tower of doom spot where Cardona got a near fall over Morrissey. Cardona kicked out of a black hole slam from Morrissey. Finally, Edwards and Cardona finally got rid of Morrissey, sending him to the floor and for the first time tonight, Cardona and Edwards exchanged strikes. It wasn’t long before they dove on Morrissey. 

Back in the ring, Cardona missed an avalanche radio silence and while Morrissey lay on the floor, Edwards hit a BKP to Cardona for the win. This was a great showing for Morrissey, regardless of the winner as he was clearly the best man in the match.

It will be Moose vs. Eddie Edwards for the Impact World title at Turning Point. 

Moxley & Callihan vs. The Wolves set for Pro Wrestling Revolver

Jon Moxley and Sami Callihan will team up to face The Wolves (Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards) in October.

Pro Wrestling Revolver announced tonight that The Switchblades (Moxley and Callihan) will face The Wolves at their Tales from the Ring event that will take place October 30th at the Horizon Events Center in Clive, Iowa. 

This will be the first time The Wolves have teamed together in over four years, last teaming for Beyond Wrestling in 2017. The two split in February of that year on Impact Wrestling.

Moxley had trademarked the term ‘The Switchblades’ and ‘The Switchblade Conspiracy’ earlier this month. He and Callihan had previously been announced as reuniting as a team prior to the match announcement.

Richards returned to pro wrestling earlier this year after not having wrestled since 2017. Together, Richards and Edwards are two time ROH World Tag Team Champions and five time Impact World Tag Team Champions.

  • John Cena apologized in Mandarin on Weibo, China’s popular social media platform, for referring to Taiwan as a country in an interview promoting F9. Although Taiwan is self-governing, China has used its economic influence to monitor speech regarding Taiwan, which remains a sensitive political topic.
  • Deadline reported that along with the already reported cuts in digital, WWE Studios and its film, TV, and social media departments also saw layoffs today.
  • James Wortman, a content director with WWE, confirmed on Twitter he was part of today’s cuts. Adam Kirshner, a digital video producer in WWE, also was part of the cuts.
  • Axel Tischer, formerly Alexander Wolfe, spoke to Ringsiders Wrestling regarding his release, saying that his contract expired on June 15th and WWE opted not to renew it. He also said there were plans at one point for a Sanity reunion. “But going back to the plan, actually the plan before the pandemic hit was to bring SAnitY back together.” he said (h/t Post Wrestling). “But then the pandemic hit and then E.Y. [Eric Young] got released, and what I know is that not even Triple H knew about EY. The only thing — and E.Y., he said it in an interview, he [Triple H] was one of the first guys to give him the call and, ‘Sorry man, I didn’t know about that,’ and I don’t know this, just [guessing], they probably tried to rehire him but, as I can relate right now, there’s no animosity, there’s no hatred but it’s a sour pill to swallow that they kind of like deny you and you kind of think, ‘Okay guys, you don’t want to have me? F you.’ We’re all humans, we all feel.”
  • Kofi Kingston told The Daily Star that Randy Orton’s name has to be considered when talking about the best in the world right now in professional wrestling. “What Randy does is unique in that way – he does so much without doing anything at all, so I’d have to put him in the conversation as being one of the greatest. “To be able to last so long… he’s even more compelling now in a lot of different ways. So as a performer, you can’t have the conversation [about the greatest] without having Randy be in there, from the longevity alone. That doesn’t happen by accident.”

Impact Wrestling’s Eddie Edwards dealing with appendicitis

Former Impact World Champion Eddie Edwards is dealing with what is believed to be appendicitis.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Edwards was in Nashville, TN, Monday afternoon, presumably for another set of TV tapings. Meltzer didn’t know whether the issues arose on Sunday or Monday or if the 37-year-old will have his appendix removed.

Edwards’ recovery time could be a month or longer depending on the severity of the appendicitis, the success of surgery if required, and adherence to any post-surgery protocol.

Neither Edwards or Impact have publicly acknowledged the situation.

Edwards was last seen at Saturday’s pre-taped Under Siege as he and Tag Team Champions FinJuice took on Impact World Champion Kenny Omega and the Good Brothers. Edwards got the pin on Anderson after hitting the Boston Knee Party. 

Edwards had not been announced as having a match on this Thursday’s Impact. He has spent the last few months feuding with old rival Sami Callihan and Violent By Design.

Impact Under Siege live results: Kenny Omega in six-man tag action

Impact World Champion Kenny Omega makes his Impact Plus in-ring debut tonight when he teams with the Good Brothers to face Tag Team Champions FinJuice and Eddie Edwards at Under Siege.

Even though the world title won’t be on the line, the nine-match card features several championship matches, several of which were finalized last Thursday.

Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo will look to successfully defend her title once again when she faces former champion Havok; X-Division Champion Josh Alexander will take on New Japan’s El Phantasmo; and Knockouts Tag Team Champions Jordynne Grace and Rachael Ellering will rematch former champions Fire N’Flava.

Under Siege will also feature a six-way that will determine the next World title challenger in addition to a four-way that will determine the next Tag Team title challengers.

Also announced for the show: Brian Myers vs. Black Taurus; W. Morrissey vs. Willie Mack; and Tenille Dashwood and Taylor Wilde vs. Susan and Kimber Lee.

Our live coverage kicks off at 8 PM Eastern.

Brian Myers defeated Black Taurus (w/ Decay)

After losing his qualifier match against Matt Cardona, Brian Myers found himself as the punchline to Decay’s jokes as Rosemary tried to read him his future. On the last episode of Impact, Myers defeated Crazzy Steve, only to get taken out by Taurus seconds later, setting up tonight’s match.

Story of the match was that Taurus had the power advantage over Myers, but also, the numbers advantage outside the ring, with Crazzy Steve and Rosemary, something that Myers eventually had to use to distract Taurus, by attacking Steve, and finally managed to attack Taurus from behind and gain control of the match. 

Myers worked over Taurus for a couple of minutes until Taurus got a desperation top rope crossbody to bring down Myers. Taurus had a good couple of lucha spots, a good near fall after a crucifix bomb and a shoulder breaker, but he couldn’t keep Myers down. After a couple more near falls, Myers managed to land a roster cut out of nowhere after he had poked Tauru’s eye.

Myers has wins over both Steve and Taurus, so I would imagine a tag team match is next.

– D’lo Brown and Matt Striker ran down tonight’s card.

Taylor Wilde & Tenille Dashwood (with Kaleb with a K) defeated Kimber Lee & Susan

Taylor Wilde made her big return at Rebellion and saved Dashwood from an attack at the hands of Deonna Purrazzo, Lee, and Susan. After doing so, Susan and Lee decided to put their focus on taking out Wilde, who’s only focus is the Knockouts Championship, but unfortunately for Wilde, Dashwood now thinks that she and Wilde are destined to be tag team partners, which Wilde is just not interested in being.

Not much to the match, but it did the point across that even if Wilde does not want to be a team with Dashwood, both women ended up getting a win against the team of Susan and Lee. It was a short match with little to none heat from the heels. At one point, Dashwood was taken out and Wilde had to deal with Susan and Lee by herself, but at the end, it was Kaleb that assisted Wilde, by kicking Susan and setting her up for Wilde to pin her. Wilde didn’t see the assist, but she still didn’t want to celebrate with Dashwood.

This seems to be building to a Wilde vs Dashwood match, likely at Against All Odds.

– Sami Callihan cut a promo about going through the roster if necessary, all to win the championship.

Ace Austin & Madman Fulton defeated XXXL (Acey Romero & Larry D), TJP & Petey Williams, and Rohit Raju & Mahabali Shera in a Impact Tag Team title no. 1 contenders match

These teams are made from the competitors that failed to become #1 contenders to the X Division Championship. As a second opportunity, they all entered to this match to become the #1 contenders to FinJuice’s tag team championships. 

Match started with Fulton and Romero going at it, but as it went on, we started to test out different pair ups between competitors. This wasn’t tornado tag rules, so every pair up got a chance to showcase and get some signature spots in before transitioning to a different pair. What made this dynamic was that half of the men involved were super heavyweights, and the other cruiserweight size wrestlers, so there were changes from seeing a hoss fight to fast paced counters and reversals. 

The match slowed down a bit when Shera and Raju cut off Williams and kept him in their corner, and for that time, the match felt like a match between two teams. Eventually, Austin and Fulton got in and they worked over TJP the same way that Williams had been worked on by Raju and Shera. At this point, commentary started to sell that TJP and Williams were the only team that was really getting tired while everyone got time to rest, yet they are the most experienced in the field.

Williams got a hot tag against Austin, but as soon as it seemed that Austin was about to cut him off, XXXL had enough and decided to get in the ring and take out everyone. 

Last couple of minutes, the match picked up a lot, with every team stealing tags on each other and attempting to end the match, but there were just too many people involved for a clear pin. Finish finally came when Fulton took out both Romero and D, ending with an assisted plancha for Austin to pin D for the win. For the amount of people, this was a great and organized match with great pacing.

It will be Ace Austin and Fulton vs. Tag Team Champions FinJuice in the future.

– Gia Miller interviewed Hogan and Steelz about their match. They said they’re regaining the titles tonight. Great stuff from both.

W. Morrissey defeated Willie Mack

Morrissey debuted at Rebellion and call it coincidence, but he made a statement by taking out Mack in his match. Mack decided to make a challenge that Morrissey answered in the form of a beat down and it all came down to this match.

Mack started hot, he rushed at Morrissey at the bell, and while having some hiccups, he kept the offense and at one point made Morrissey walk away to recoup, but as much as Mack did, Morrissey wasn’t that injured and easily recovered.

At one point, Morrissey knocked out Mack with a big boot and worked over him for a couple of minutes before Mack made a comeback, but it was a short-lived comeback. The beat down continued for most of the match, but at the end, Mack did manage to make a great comeback with a couple of near falls, but at the end, Morrissey cut him off again and destroyed Mack with a big boot to the back of the head. This went on way longer than I expected, but it was good.

After the match, Morrissey kept attacking Mack, but as he was about to use a chair, Rich Swann made his first appearance since losing the World title at Rebellion for the save. He and Mack cleared the ring before the big staredown between Morrissey and Swann.

Fire N’ Flava (Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz) defeated Jordynne Grace & Rachael Ellering to win the Knockouts Tag Team championship

This is the title rematch from Rebellion, where Grace and Ellering defeated Hogan and Steelz to capture the titles. Going into this match, Hogan and Steelz have been messing around with Grace’s confidence, making her believe that she is the weak link of the team and that it was all Ellering, who won the titles at Rebellion. 

Even with Hogan and Steelz jumping Grace and Ellering at the start, it was the champions that managed to control the match early on with their power advantage. After watching Grace and Ellering show off, tossing around Hogan for minutes, Steelz finally got in and helped cut off Ellering, cut the ring in half on her, and completely turn the match around. 

Hogan and Steelz worked over Ellering for a long time, constant tags, always keeping Ellering down on the mat, switching between kicks and submissions, with the occasional tease to Grace in the corner. 

Grace made the hot tag and it led to both teams chasing the pin, trading big moves. At the end, it came down to Steelz and Grace, with the latter going for the Vader bomb before she got cut off. Outside the ring, Hogan took out Ellering with a sliced bread on the floor, but in the ring, as Grace went for a superplex, Steelz blocked it, dropped Grace, hit a frog splash, and won the match to recapture the titles. This was so much better than their Rebellion match.

Fire ‘n Flava are 2-time champions. 

– We got a Swinger’s Palace skit with XXXL wanting to get a bet in for the main event and it went nowhere.

X-Division Champion Josh Alexander defeated El Phantasmo to retain the title

In a matter of two weeks, ELP debuted on Impact Wrestling with a singles win, and then a win to become the #1 contender to Josh Alexander’s title. There is no story between these men, just a championship on the line.

This was fantastically paced. The story of the match was that Alexander was a better wrestler, he had the upper hand when it came power and technique, but as it has been rumored, ELP’s boot is allegedly loaded, and surprisingly, while nothing was working against Alexander, it was the stomps and kicks that were hurting Alexander way more than they should, and thus it led to ELP dismantle Alexander’s limbs slowly. 

Alexander would still deliver some desperation attacks here and there, because even with injured limbs, Alexander was still a better and stronger wrestler, he just happens to be across the ring from a troll level wrestler that is really hard to anticipate and counter. 

Last couple of minutes saw Alexander start to chase the ankle lock, while ELP started going for the superkick over and over, but he just couldn’t make contact. 

At the end, Alexander went for divine intervention, but ELP countered. Alexander locked in the ankle lock, powerbomb into the knee, and after a couple of stomps, submitted ELP! Awesome match. 

I totally expected ELP to win the championship, but it’s great to see that Impact is putting their coins in Alexander’s basket.

– Gia Miller interviewed FinJuice and Edwards. Robinson said that there wouldn’t be any interference because everyone would be in there in the ring. Finlay hyped the match, saying this is a combination of some of the greatest active wrestlers today. 

Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo (w/ Kimber Lee & Susan) defeated Havok to retain the title

Havok had been eyeing Purrazzo for a while, but it wasn’t until last week where she defeated Rosemary in a #1 contendership match, in which she finally achieved what she wanted, a one-on-one shot with Purrazzo for the title.

Havok is Purrazzo’s first actual powerhouse challenger since winning the championship, and so the story of the match was that of the technical wrestler trying to work herself around to bring down Havok to her knees and target one of her limbs, the left arm as usual, setting it up for the Fujiwara armbar.

Havok made a couple of comebacks using her strength to power out of Purrazzo’s holds, but Havok would end up back on her knees with Purrazzo working the arm. Havok got her biggest offense, locking in a single leg Boston crab, taking out both Susan and Lee, but as she went for the running kicks, Purrazzo dodged, brought her down to the mat, and submitted Havok with the Fujiwara armbar. Purrazzo looked great, even winning the match with her 3rd from the top signature move.

Eddie Edwards & Tag Team Champions FinJuice (Juice Robinson & David Finlay) defeated Impact World Champion Kenny Omega & The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) 

FInJuice and the Good Brothers have feuded over the tag team titles for months now, but now that Omega has joined Impact and won the championship, the group became a nuisance for Impact, and thus Eddie Edwards, the heart and soul of Impact, joined the fight. As of late, Omega and the Good Brothers cost Edwards his shot at the #1 contendership six-way match, and hence this match was booked.

Match started with some good back and forward tag team wrestling between FinJuice and the Good Brothers, neither team was able to gain proper advantage, and it all led to Edwards vs Omega for the first time. The match continued with Omega vs Robinson, with the latter actually having most of the offense until Anderson and Gallows had to get involved to allow Omega to cut Robinson out. 

It didn’t take long for Finlay to get the hot tag and run wild against Anderson, but he too was cut off by the teamwork and cheats from Omega, Anderson, and Gallows. At the end, it all built to a second Edwards vs Omega face off, a proper one with more time where Edwards got himself a near fall with a blue thunder bomb. Edwards hit a Tiger bomb for a near fall, which was the point that Omega woke up and started hitting V-triggers and snap dragon suplexes. 

Finish saw FinJuice stop a magic killer. Finlay hit the stunner on Anderson, pulp friction by Robinson, and the Boston knee party by Edwards for the pin. 

This was great. Whether it is Against All Odds or Slammiversary, Edwards vs Omega is coming close to a boiling point.

– Brown and Striker announced that Austin and Fulton challenge FinJuice for the titles on next week’s Impact.

Moose defeated Trey Miguel, Chris Bey, Matt Cardona, Chris Sabin, & Sami Callihan in a World title no. 1 contender match

Each of these men won qualifiers in the last couple of months in order to advance to this six-way match, where the winner will challenge Kenny Omega for the Impact World Championship. Callihan comes in with momentum, as he got the win over Sabin on the go-home show’s Moose, Bey, and Callihan vs Sabin, Miguel, and Cardona match.

Match started with Moose taking everyone out single handedly, it took the combined forces of Bey and Sabin’s superkicks to finally get him off his feet and out of the ring. The match continued with everyone coming in and out of the ring, taking each other out, only to get taken out too, and so on. It wasn’t until a tandem dive from Bey and Miguel that things slowed down a bit inside the ring. 

We got our first big multiman spot with Bey hitting a German on Callihan on the ropes, as Callihan brought down Cardona with a superplex, only for Sabin and Miguel to dropkick Bey off the ropes. Moose came back and once again started to take everyone out until Bey and Miguel teamed up on him. At this point, Callihan introduced a chair into the match, but we got no disqualifications. 

Callihan actually continued cheating in order to gain some momentum, but that was when the Good Brothers ran down, pulled out Callihan, and took him out, so serves him right. 

Sabin got a great near fall after hitting cradle shock, but was stopped by Moose, who delivered a trifecta of lights out spears for the win. Good match with the exception of Callihan using chairs and low blows. 

It will be Kenny Omega vs. Moose, who told the camera and Omega that he is coming to get back what is theirs. Impact could pull the trigger on a babyface Moose right now and it would be huge.

Big Cass appears at Impact Rebellion, replaces Eric Young

Big Cass appeared on tonight’s Impact Rebellion event under a new name, filling in for Eric Young.

Cass appeared at Rebellion under the name W. Morrissey. He replaced Eric Young in a match where he teamed up with the rest of Violent by Design (Joe Doering, Rhino, and Deaner) to take on James Storm, Chris Sabin, Willie Mack, and Eddie Edwards. Morrisey picked up the win for his team, pinning Mack after hitting the East River Crossing. After the match, Morrissey continued to attack Mack as the rest of Violent by Design posed on the entrance ramp. 

Right before the match, Young said in a backstage segment he was injured and unable to compete tonight. He told someone off-camera that they were not ready for the truth, or to join Violent by Design, but they were ready for the opportunity to show who they are.

Cass has been making appearances in the independent scene since February. He had disappeared from pro wrestling following an altercation at a WrestlePro show in September 2019 where he was kicked out of the building after an altercation with Joey Janela backstage.

Three matches announced for next week’s Impact Wrestling

Three matches have been announced for next week’s Impact.

Ace Austin will defend his newly-won X-Division title against TJP, who he defeated at Sacrifice this past weekend to win the title. TJP confronted Austin and other X-Division stars backstage, saying he wouldn’t go to the back of the line and would get his rematch next week.

Deonna Purrazzo will take on Jazz in a non-title match. Jazz won the twelve woman tag team match that took place on tonight’s show. She, Jordynne Grace, Alisha Edwards, Havoc, Nevaeh, and ODB defeated Purrazzo, Fire ‘n Flava (Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz), Susan, Kimber Lee, and Tenille Dashwood. Jazz won the match after submitting Lee with an STF.

Karl Anderson will take on Eddie Edwards in a singles match. Anderson, along with Doc Gallows, recently lost the Impact World Tag Team titles to David Finlay and Juice Robinson at Sacrifice, while Edwards defeated Brian Myers in a ‘hold harmless’ match.

Three more matches added to Impact Hard to Kill

Three new matches have been added for Impact’s next pay-per-view, Hard to Kill.

Sami Callihan will face Eddie Edwards in a barbed wire massacre match. Their match at the end of tonight’s Impact main event ended in a no contest when the video screen showed Edwards’ wife Alisha caged in somewhere in the backstage area. Edwards went to save her, but it was a trap as Callihan’s associate Ken Shamrock jumped Edwards as he approached the cage. Callihan then came in and attacked Edwards with a bat.

A six-man tag team match has also been set for Had to Kill. Eric Young, Cody Deaner & Joe Doering will face Tommy Dreamer, Rhino & Cousin Jake in an old school rules match (a no DQ and no countout match). Rhino & Jake faced Deaner & Doering on tonight’s show, with Deaner getting the win over Jake after a low blow. Dreamer made the save for the team after the match and issued the challenge.

Additionally, Ethan Page and Karate Man will face off against one another at Hard to Kill, despite Karate Man also being portrayed by Page. Page was in a therapy session during a segment on tonight’s Impact with Karate Man, talking about how his career has been derailed since The North lost the Impact Tag Team titles. He ended up getting into an argument with Karate Man, leading Page to challenge him for Hard to Kill.

Other matches slated for the show include Kenny Omega & The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) vs. Rich Swann & The Motor City Machine Guns, Deonna Purrazzo vs. Taya Valkyrie for the Knockouts Championship, Manik vs. Chris Bey vs. Rohit Raju for the X-Division Championship, and Havok & Nevaeh vs. Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz in the Knockouts Tag Team title tournament finals.

Hard to Kill takes place on Saturday, January 16.

Impact Wrestling results: Edwards & Swann vs. Young & Callihan

Impact Wrestling returns from Nashville, TN. 

Last week, Impact ended with the big cliffhanger of John E. Bravo getting shot during his wedding with Rosemary. The opening video of Impact was a fantastic recap of the last months, showcasing all the things that Bravo had done that would give reason to many of the suspects to take him out.

D’Amore opened the show telling Dreamer that  Bravo was in stable condition, but not out of the water just yet. Dreamer, dressed as Sherlock Holmes, said that he was launching an investigation. Well, if anyone had any doubts, this is going to be a complete comedy.

Deonna Purrazzo (with Kimber Lee) defeated Knockouts Champion Su Yung by DQ

Purrazzo is claiming her rematch clause after threatening to sue Impact Wrestling. Purrazzo’s argument had been that she had called out any man or woman ‘alive’ at Bound For Glory, and instead, Su Yung, who she argued is not alive, had come out and defeated her. D’Amore instead convinced her to get her rematch.

Match saw a more aggressive Yung as she went for the mandible claw and the panic switch early on, but Purrazzo, better prepared this time around, kept reversing and targeting the arm. The finish came quick. Yung locked in the mandible claw, and in order to break it, Lee tossed a chair into the ring. Yung and Purrazzo fought for the chair with the latter accidentally getting hit with it in the gut, causing a disqualification. 

The match was too short for it to build a good story, but the wrestling had been good until the weak finish. This finish made it feel like this was a blip on the radar before a bigger match to come.

After the match, Yung took out Lee and Purrazzo and held out the belt.

— Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne ran down tonight’s card, they tried to sell Bravo’s injury as a shoot. 

— Over at D’Amore’s office, Rhino and Heath were ready to sign the contract. Heath is still visibly hurting, but hiding it from everyone but Rhino. D’Amore suspected that something was off with Heath and told him to heal up before signing the contract. He even offered to help with rehab, but Heath tried to play it cool, acted offended, and walked out since he wouldn’t be able to prove that he was ready to go.

— After Heath and Rhino left the office. Barrister R.D. Evans walked in as demanded a new rematch for Purrazzo since the one granted had ended in a DQ. D’Amore gave Purrazzo an Anything Goes match at Turning Point for the Knockouts title. D’Amore acted like he had one-upped Evans and Purrazzo, but given that Purrazzo had Kimber Lee with her, it should be an advantage for her.

— Somewhere else backstage, Rich Swann approached Eddie Edwards about their tag team match tonight. They said they had each other’s backs.

Chris Bey defeated Trey Miguel

Both these men were part of the BFG six-person scramble for the X Division title, which unfortunately for them, lost to Rohit Raju. At this point, both of them had to restart their path to the title.

This was your quintessential X Division match, with the fast-paced reversal start. Bey had control for most of the match, working over Miguel’s neck, and using heel tactics to cut him off when Miguel would start a comeback. Eventually, Miguel did manage to gain momentum, but as he prepared the Meteora, Bey cut him off and hit a second rope flying cutter for the win.

Hard to believe that Bey will be the sole challenger for Raju, but it is likely that he will feud with TJP for the number one contendership.

— We got a new installment of Locker Room Talk with Madison Rayne and Johnny Swinger. Her special guests tonight were Tenille Dashwood and Jordynne Grace, both partnerless as the Knockouts tag team title tournament approaches. 

Grace said that she was confident she’d find a partner. Rayne tried to get Dashwood and Grace to consider teaming since they both are somewhat tied in wins. Grace asked Dashwood about it, but Dashwood instead asked Madison Rayne to team up, which she accepted. Grace walked out, rejected. Everyone was great here, but I really don’t know why they’re doing this with Grace, they better have a hell of a tag partner set up for her.

— Dreamer interrogated referee Brandon Tolle since Bravo had belittled his officiating. Cody Deaner and Swinger then did some comedy about who was next to be interrogated, but they actually had a match coming.

— Rohit Raju came out for the Defeat Rohit Challenge with a great little promo. Raju should get to cut promos on every show. TJP came out, but wasn’t ring ready. TJP asked for an opportunity, but Raju turned him off. Raju said that TJP was always out there trying to steal his spotlight while he had to legit crawl and claw his way to the title. 

TJP answered with a fantastic promo saying that he had put in all the work and had all the accomplishments that Raju wouldn’t even dream about. Raju said that TJP kept talking about the past, but Raju was the present. 

TJP had enough and tossed his hot tea on Raju, and so they started brawling until TJP tossed Raju out of the ring. Great little angle, TJP finally came off as someone serious about chasing the title.

— Gia Miller interviewed Chris Sabin. She asked for updates on Alex Shelley. Sabin said he was doing well, but he wanted to address all these teams trying to divide and conquer over the Machine Guns. He challenged either of XXXL for a match. 

— Backstage, Raju approached D’Amore to do something about TJP. D’Amore said that TJP is getting one last chance at the title, so Raju can defeat him and finally be done with him.

Doc Gallows (with Karl Anderson) defeated Ethan Page (with Josh Alexander) 

Last time we saw these four men, they were brawling backstage after Page slapped Gallows right across the face. Today they faced inside the ring.

Story of the match was that Gallows dominated the ring every time that Page stepped up, and so Page kept getting more and more frustrated that they couldn’t even approach Gallows. Eventually, Alexander distracted Gallows enough so that Page could clip him from behind and finally gain control of the match. Page worked over Gallows for a couple of minutes before he started a comeback. As Gallows was about to finish off Page, Alexander got his ankle, but not even with the distraction was Page able to get the better of Gallows, who hit a big boot and won via pinfall. Ok match, but nothing special, Gallows is not the most exciting man in the ring, but Page makes up for it with his selling.

After the match, Anderson and Gallows cleared the ring and sent The North packing. 

— Miller interviewed Swoggle about being back on Impact. He said that he was so glad to be back on Impact, and that he had always been seen as a joke and so he was here to turn those thoughts around. Brian Myers interrupted him and told him that he’d always be the sideshow freak of wrestling. He pushed Swoggle to the floor and walked away. Swoggle was actually pretty good in the microphone, why he hasn’t been given the chance to talk before confuses me, and this can’t be leading to a good feud. But if it were to lead to Swoggle managing someone to battle Myers, I think we have something here.

Johnny Swinger defeated Cody Deaner (with Cousin Jake)

There’s no story here other than the skit with Dreamer earlier on, as they’re both suspects in Bravo’s shooting. 

The match was all comedy. Deaner kept drinking to gain power and energy, while Swinger kept using old school heel tactics to work over Deaner. Finish saw Swinger try to hit Deaner with a chair, but Cousin Jake stopped him. In the distraction, Swinger used his gimmick fanny pack to attack Deaner for the pin. Nothing match, but I won’t complain about a three-minute match.

— Moose came out to the ring looking dapper. He said in the last few months, he hasn’t been taken seriously, nor has the TNA World Championship. He said that at Bound For Glory, he went to hell and back to reclaim the title and took out one of the best champions in the company’s history. He ran down the names he has defeated all year (mostly older wrestlers), but said that no one talks about Moose, and instead, they talk about Rich Swann. 

Moose played the footage of last week’s attack on Willie Mack and told Swann to ask Mack what pain feels like and that he has been warned. Mack came down and attacked Moose, but was taken out instead and beaten down and choked out with the camera cable. 

Moose was fantastic, he seems ready to get that big title win.

— Over in Swann’s locker room, Chris Bey congratulated him. He told Swann that he should be the next challenger. Swann told him that Bey needed more than just to ask for a title shot, he needed to earn it. Before Bey could make a claim, Edwards came in as the two headed out for their upcoming match. Chris Bey chasing the world championship? Count me in!

— Dreamer said that he had narrowed down his suspects to 10 people. Swinger, Havok, Brandon Tolle, Cody Deaner, Hernandez, Fallah Bahh, Larry D, James Mitchell, Rosemary, and Taya. This was all comedy and not the good kind. 

— Matthews and Rayne ran down next week’s card, including Raju vs. TJP for the X Division title, Chris Sabin vs. Acey Romero, and Rayne/Dashwood vs. Havok/Nevaeh. Also, 11 days away, we get Turning Point on Impact+, where Su Yung defends against Deonna Purrazzo in an Anything Goes match and Moose vs. Willie Mack.

Eric Young & Sami Callihan defeated Impact World Champion Rich Swann & Eddie Edwards

There is a big mix of rivalries between these four men. Last week, we saw Swann retain against Eric Young, but also get threatened by Callihan’s intentions to come after him. Likewise, Edwards has been dealing with Callihan, Shamrock, and Young in the last months. 

Match was the basic tag match with Edwards being the babyface in peril, Swann having the hot tag and running wild, and the final minutes with all four men running in for spots. Towards the end, both Callihan and Young go for their signature piledrivers, but Swann and Edwards both reversed at the same time into a sharpshooter and single-leg crab respectively, leading to Young and Callihan having to stop each other from tapping out.

The finish saw Edwards lock in Callihan in a half Boston crab. Ken Shamrock came down, took out Swann, and distracted Edwards enough for Callihan to get him from behind and hit the cactus special for the win.

Commentary early on tried to sell us that Young and Callihan were too big of an ego to work together, but they ended up working perfectly as a team, even fist-bumping as the show went off the air. 

Final thoughts — 

Good, fun show. We had some really good promos this week, which may or may not lead to feuds beyond Turning Point that is only a week and a half away. A lot of programs still feel up in the air.

Ken Shamrock vs. Eddie Edwards added to Impact Bound for Glory

Ken Shamrock vs. Eddie Edwards has been made official for Bound for Glory.

A storyline has been unfolding on Impact in recent weeks where Shamrock has been listening to Sami Callihan, who is looking to exert control over Shamrock. Callihan’s goal is to unlock the same uncontrollable Shamrock from earlier days in Shamrock’s career.

The match was made after Callihan issued a challenge on Twitter, writing: “I love when a plan comes together. Since @TheEddieEdwards lost his rematch to @TheEricYoung , which I knew he would. It looks like he’s free at #BoundForGlory. HERE’S MY CHALLENGE. Eddie Vs. @ShamrockKen at BFG. BOOK IT!”

This past week, Shamrock felt bad about attacking Edwards the previous week. Callihan hyped him up, saying that the attack was ‘trending’ and that eventually he’ll revert to the old Ken Shamrock. Callihan got Shamrock worked up enough that Shamrock ended up attacking a passerby.

Other matches announced for Bound for Glory include:

Card announced for Saturday’s Impact Victory Road event

The card for this Saturday’s Victory Road event has been announced.

Eric Young will defend the Impact World championship against Eddie Edwards. It was Young that defeated Edwards to win the championship back on the September 1 edition of Impact.

Suzie, Su Yung’s alter ego, will challenge Deonna Purrazzo for the Impact Knockouts title. This is prior to Purrazzo’s match at Bound for Glory, when she will face Susie’s friend Kylie Rae.

Other matches that were set up on tonight’s Impact were Tommy Dreamer vs. Brian Myers, Heath Slater and Rhino vs. Reno Scum in an non-sanctioned tag team match, and Rohit Raju defending the X-Division championship against an opponent yet to be announced.

After The Good Brothers confronted The Motor City Machine Guns, a match was made for Bound For Glory pitting those two teams against The North and Ace Austin & Madman Fulton in a fatal four way for the Tag Team titles. Fulton & Ace will get the first shot against MCMG on Saturday.

Impact Wrestling results: Ace & Fulton vs. The North

Impact Wrestling returns from Nashville, TN for the build up to Victory Road and Bound For Glory. 

Opening video focused on last week’s X-Division three-way for a shot at Rohit Raju, who successfully defended the X-Division title, the ongoing war that Eric Young has started against Impact and the consequent return of Eddie Edwards, who would be later attacked before the end of last week’s show. 

Taya Valkyrie & Rosemary defeated Havok & Nevaeh

Havok and Rosemary got face to face, but Nevaeh and Taya pulled them apart and started the match instead. Early advantage for Taya using lucha arm drags. 

Havok and Rosemary tagged in and straight for strikes. Havok got Rosemary down with a couple of kicks and went for the chokeslam, but Rosemary fought it off and got the tag to Taya, who came in and got a two count pin attempt.

Havok recovered and took down Taya with a backbreaker, took her to their corner for some running clotheslines, and a submission attempt by Nevaeh. Taya tried to fight away, but Nevaeh kept her down with a dropkick for more pin attempts. Havok tagged in for another backbreaker and clothesline combo and yet another near fall. Taya finally fought off and escaped Havok to tag in Rosemary, who came in running wild, hitting exploders. Rosemary locked in the upside down on Havok, followed with a crossbody from the third, and tagged Taya in for the double spear. 

Nevaeh tagged in, hit a German on Rosemary. Taya blocked the German attempt on her, hit Road to Valhalla and picked up the win. Good opener, better than usual. 

After the match, Tasha Steelz and Kiera Hogan came out and jumped Taya. Rosemary. Havok and Nevaeh, who have a history with Steelz and Hogan, made the save. 

Backstage, The Good Brothers are telling stories. Everyone seems to love it until Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin approach them. Shelley started making fun of Anderson’s past in Japan, completely running over him with a truck of insults, leaving Anderson without comebacks. 

Gia MIller interviewed KImber Lee and Deonna Purrazzo, who said that Kylie Rae was completely confused to think that everyone liking her would mean anything when she stepped in the ring with Purrazzo. Gia Miller announced to Purrazzo that she’ll be defending the title at Victory Road against Susie.

Josh Matthews & Madison Rayne ran down the card for Victory Road and tonight’s show.

Jordynne Grace defeated Tenille Dashwood (with Kaleb with a K)

Jordynne Grace started the match chasing the Grace driver, but Tenille would escape. Jordynne would follow with a couple of shoulder tackles, a scoop slam, and senton for a two count. Jordynne pushed Tenille to the corner for more shoulder thrusts and clotheslines. Jordynne whipped her from corner to corner, complete dominance. 

Tenille finally managed to get Jordynne between the ropes for a desperation neckbreaker and get to change things around. Now with control, Tenille worked over Jordynne’s head, going after the hair over and over. Jordynne would try to come back, but Tenille kept her down, dodging and kicking her. 

Eventually, Jordynne connected with a quick jab, a boot, and it was enough to set up Tenille for the running knees to the back, running falling elbow, and a Vader bomb for a two count. Jordynne went for the Grace driver, but Tenille blocked, only to take a close distance clothesline instead. Jordynne connected more clotheslines, but failed on the third and found herself hanging on a tree of woe for Tenille’s low crossbody for a two count. 

Tenille went for the double underhook, but Grace blocked. Tenille went for the spotlight, but Grace dodged and set up the Grace driver, only to get distracted by Kaleb. 

Tenille went for an O’Connor roll, but Jordynne reversed into a sleeper for the submission win.

Moose was running around backstage looking for ECIII, actually attacking an innocent bystander by mistake. ECIII appeared and told Moose that he’ll be on Impact next week to destroy the TNA title. 

We got a video package of Rich Swann’s recovery and rehab. He said that he is finally bound for glory and he’ll prove everyone wrong. Rehab doctor said that he had been working all day all night and that he was cleared to go.

Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week was Victory Road 2012’s Madison Rayne vs Gail Kim.

Rhino and Heath celebrated the success of their last infomercial when suddenly, Reno Scum and Hernandez jumped them and took the money they had stolen. Serves them right for stealing.

Rhino went looking for D’Amore and asked for a match with Reno Scum. D’Amore said that this was a favor because Heath didn’t work here, but if Heath signs a waiver, he and Heath can fight Reno Scum unsanctioned at Victory Road.

The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) defeated The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz)

Anderson and Xavier started the match with Anderson getting the jump and early advantage, ramming Dez from corner to corner, hitting elbows. Dezmond got a rana on Anderson and tagged in Wentz, who unfortunately was pushed into Gallows, who tagged in next.

Gallows hit Wentz with lefts and rights and headbutts before tagging in Dezmond again, except this time around, The Rascalz surprised Anderson with a fast paced kick combo to bring him down for the pin attempt. 

Dezmond went for a running dropkick, but Anderson blocked and tagged in Gallows, who came in with a huge clothesline on Xavier, followed with a delayed suplex. GBs worked over Dezmond from there on with quick tags, strikes, and headlocks. Gallows almost submitted Xavier with a sleeper, but Xavier started fighting back and got a desperation wheelbarrow bulldog to get Gallows off and tag in Wentz. 

Anderson and Wentz tagged in, with the latter getting the better of the strike exchange with an enziguri, step-up knee, and a PK. Xavier tagged in for the double team footstomp and hot fire flame, but Anderson got the knees up and got rid of Wentz. 

Xavier tried to dive on Gallows, but was caught midair and tossed into Wentz. Back in the ring, Anderson hit a spinebuster on Xavier, followed by a magic killer for the win. 

After the match, Anderson called out Shelley and Sabin. He said that they came here for money, but they also came for titles and challenged them for a title shot at BFG. 

Brian Myers came into the arena and suddenly found himself in the same hallway as Dreamer, who didn’t give in to last week’s threat. They got face to face, Myers tried to jump Dreamer, but Dreamer managed to block it, and being a professional, challenged Myers to a match at Victory Road. 

Tenille and Kaleb were leaving the arena when Jordynne Grace stopped them for no reason. Kaleb challenged Jordynne Grace on behalf of Tenille for a match at Victory Road. Tenille wasn’t so happy about it, she just wanted a doctor to look at her neck.

Johnny Swinger defeated Fallah Bahh to become John E. Bravo’s best man

The Deaners, Crazzy Steve, Alisha Edwards, and Bravo are all ringside to watch the match. 

Swinger jumped Bahh to start the match, but didn’t do much damage. Bahh powered up and pushed Swinger to the corner where he delivered a palm strike combo and an over-the-head body toss.

Swinger went for a scoop slam, but couldn’t pick up Bahh, who delivered one himself, followed with a leg drop for a two count. Swinger raked Bahh’s eyes, stomped Cody Deaner’s hand to distract the referee and used Steve’s monkey to hit Bahh for the win.

After the match, Bravo berated referee Tolle for not seeing that Bravo had cheated and had ruined his wedding. He told Tolle to restart the match or he’d never be head official, and so we got…

Fallah Bahh defeated Johnny Swinger to become John E. Bravo’s best man.

Match restarted, Bahh caught Swinger with a running body splash and banzai drop for the win.

Gia Miller interviewed Rohit Raju about his cheap win last week. Rohit said that he had become The Star of Impact and that he was debuting the ‘Defeat Rohit’ challenge at Victory Road. TJP approached him and said he wanted first dibs at the challenge, but Rohit told them that the challenge was for anyone that hasn’t already had their chances. 

Swinger approached Bravo reversing the decision. Bravo said he didn’t care who the best man was, he reversed the decision because it was a bad call and that referee Tolle was a moron (his words, not mine). Is this becoming a Bravo vs Tolle feud?

Eddie Edwards came down to the ring. He cut a promo calling out whoever attacked him last week. He assumed that it was Eric Young and called him out to get in a fight, but instead, Sami Callihan came out. 

Callihan told Eddie he didn’t do it and that Eddie knew him and Sami didn’t hide behind blackout attacks. Sami had footage of the man that attacked him, and when the lights came up, Ken Shamrock was behind Eddie. Shamrock, who looks way bigger than before, took down Eddie with a kick, locked in the ankle lock. Made it seem like Sami and Shamrock are a team against Eddie now, days before Eddie challenges EY for the title. 

And now, Eric Young cut a promo about Eddie not being healthy for him at Victory Road, and so if Eddie decides to show up, he’ll enjoy destroying Eddie. 

Kylie Rae approached Susie about her shot at Victory Road. Rae said that she’d be happy if Susie won and they could wrestle instead at BFG. Susie kept giving signs that Su Yung is coming out soon.

Matthews and Rayne ran down the update card for Victory Road, including the Defeat Rohit Challenge, Tenille vs Jordynne III, Myers vs Dreamer, Reno Scum vs Rhino & Heath, Eric Young vs Eddie Edwards for the Impact title. 

Next week, we get MCMG vs Ace Austin & Madman Fulton, and Rosemary and Taya vs Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz. 

The North (Ethan Page & Josh Alexander) defeated Ace Austin & Madman Fulton

Fulton and Page started the match, with the former having the power advantage, tossing around Page, who had to hide behind the ropes. Page tried to use some speed on Fulton, but to no avail. Page tried to get a sleeper in, but Fulton treated him like a ragdoll, tossing him snake eyes into the ring post. Alexander tried to distract Fulton, but got taken out. Eventually, The North got Fulton to chase them to a trap and double team attack outside the ring to finally slow him down. 

Back at the ring, Fulton regained control over The North, getting rid of Page and hitting Alexander with a big powerslam. 

Ace Austin tagged in with a leg drop for a two count. He worked over Alexander for a bit until he was getting taken over, and thus he pushed Alexander back to Fulton to regain dominance over the match. 

Fulton went back to destroying Alexander from corner to corner, who wouldn’t even budge at Josh’s chops. Once in control, Ace tagged in again for a running attack, but it was enough for Alexander to recover, tag in Page, hit a double team thunder bomb on Ace to gain some momentum. 

Now The North worked over Ace with quick tags and double team moves, complete contrast with the work that Ace and Fulton have as a team. Ace eventually managed a desperation dropkick to bring Page down. 

Fulton and Josh tagged in, they went for strikes, which worked for Alexander for a bit before Fulton landed a pop-up palm strike. Alexander responded with a German and a rolling elbow, followed with a rolling fireman’s carry. 

Page and Ace tagged in, the former got a couple of kicks on Page before going for the top rope leg drop for a two count. Ace went for an assisted splash on Alexander from the shoulders of Fulton.

Fulton went for a chokeslam on Page, but was saved by Alexander. The North tossed Ace into Fulton, double clotheslined on Fulton to toss him off the ring, followed by a dive from Alexander into Fulton’s knee to take him out. 

Back in the ring, The North double teamed Ace with a strike combo and their finisher and won. 

After the match, The Good Brothers came out, got face to face with The North to talk some trash, but with the distraction, Ace and Fulton attacked Anderson and Gallows. MCMGs came out and joined the brawl to end the show. 

Final thoughts — 

Good show for Impact, good in-ring work throughout the show. Some storylines felt really rushed as they pretty much built a full card for Saturday’s Victory Road show in only one show.

Impact Wrestling results: Jordynne Grace vs. Tenille Dashwood

Impact Wrestling returned from Nashville, TN, for tonight’s episode on the road to Victory Road and later, Bound For Glory. The opening video made focus on the ongoing storyline with ECIII stalking Moose, and Rich Swann’s promo from last week pleading to be given a match against World Champion Eric Young.

Rohit Raju came out to watch the next match, knowing that he must defend his X-Division championship right after. 

Trey Miguel defeated Chris Bey and TJP in a X-Division Championship #1 contendership match

Bey started by jumping Miguel while TJP was still taking his shirt off. When TJP tried to interfere, Bey got the better of him. Once recovered, all three men traded ranas and arm drags, ending with TJP on the floor and Bey and Miguel in the ring doing a quick-paced sequence of counters and reversals. 

Bey got taken out, but TJP returned to the ring to exchange some reversals with Miguel. TJP went for an octopus stretch, but was rolled over for a two count. Bey returned and hit a DDT and neckbreaker on both men for two near falls. Bey got rid of Miguel and hit a jumping uppercut on TJP, followed by a palm strike and a jumping neckbreaker for another two count. 

TJP locked in a sharpshooter and a choke on Bey, then released him. But, he locked in a last chancery on Miguel alone. Bey broke it up with a double foot stomp.

Bey and Miguel exchanged strikes in the middle of the ring, Miguel caught Bey with a jumping kick, but couldn’t follow up. TJP returned with an atomic drop and springboard clothesline on Bey, hit the three amigos and signaled for the mamba splash, but Miguel blocked him off. 

Miguel hit a rana on Bey, a jumping knee, armdrag and foot stomp combo on both Bey and TJP, ending with a cutter on TJP for a two count. Miguel tried to follow with a top rope plancha, but TJP moved away, only for Miguel to land directly on a cutter from Bey for a close near fall.

TJP locked an armbreaker on Bey, who tried to roll him up, only for TJP to turn it into an ankle lock. Miguel landed with a meteora out of nowhere on TJP and picked up the win in a great opener.

X-Division Champion Rohit Raju defeated Trey Miguel to retain

Miguel tried to rush Rohit, but Rohit dodged him, caught him with a roll-up and pulled the tights to steal the win in less than a minute.

– Eric Young cut a promo about what happened last week. He said he had time to think about it and in the end, his conscience is clear from here on out because Swann decided to come after him and Scott D’Amore decided to give him the match.

– Gia Miller wanted to interview Tenille Dashwood, but only got Kaleb with a K, who said that she was busy with V-Venom therapy. She eventually walked out and had some nice words of wisdom for Miller.

Susie (with Kylie Rae) defeated Kimber Lee (with Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo)

Lee went in for an early kick on Susie, who caught it and tossed Lee into a leg split. Susie tried to do it too, but Lee rolled her up for a two count. Lee tried to punch Susie, but she was dodging everything. a big tilt-a-whirl backbreaker from Lee got a two count.

Lee started working over Susie, choking her on the ropes and stomping on her. Lee landed a dropkick that sent Susie to the floor. Rae came for the save.

Back in the ring, Lee kept working over Susie with chokes and stomps. A kick combo got another two count, but Lee transitioned into a deep single crab. Susie escaped and tried to hit the arachrana, but Lee blocked it and dropped from the top rope with another Boston crab for a submission tease. Susie made the ropes. 

Lee went for kicks, but Susie started to fight back. She landed a monkey roll, connected with more strikes and hit the arachrana, but only got a two count. Susie rushed at Lee, but was caught with a pop-up powerbomb for a near fall. Lee dragged Susie to the corner and went for the swanton, but Susie caught her with a palm strike. Purrazzo tried to attack Susie, but accidentally hit Lee, giving Susie the opening to hit Su Yung’s panic switch for the win. This was surprisingly good.

Susie was transitioning into Su Yung when Rae calmed her down again. Purrazzo jumped Rae, but Susie saved her, only to get taken down with a Fujiwara armbar until Rae superkicked Purrazzo and tossed her out of the ring. 

After that, Rae said that if Purrazzo likes to bully people, she is taking her Knockouts title at Bound For Glory, making the match official.

– We got a commercial from Heath, rallying up the people to support him on his campaign to get an Impact contract. He said that it wasn’t just about the money or the kids, but he wanted to be there because he loved wrestling and Impact had the competition. Rhino and D’Lo Brown had some words for Heath. There were even cameos by David Hasselhoff, Flavor Flav, Nancy Kerrigan, and a very old Chuck Norris. Heath’s daughters even cut promos on Scott D’Amore. This ended up being quite good.

– Backstage, Impact Tag Team Champions Motor City Machine Guns were approached by The Good Brothers kinda asking them for a thank you, saying they came in to replace those “young boys” in the eight man tag last week. The Rascalz came in with a fiery promo on the Brothers and challenged them to a match.

– The Impact Plus flashback moment of the week was Bound For Glory 2013’s Bully Ray vs. AJ Styles match.

– ECIII cut a promo about knowing what it feels to be robbed, so he told Moose these are the times to come together and control the narrative. He called for people to send hints to Moose via telephone and he gave up a phone number (407-457-8494).

– Taya Valkyrie approached Rosemary about not being out there for her match. Rosemary said she was unconscious backstage because Havok knocked her out. They agreed that they needed to be on the same page to make things work, so they agreed to deal with one’s problems.

– We then saw John E. Bravo rallying up his groomsmen which consists of The Deaners, Alisha Edwards, Crazzy Steve, Johnny Swinger, and Fallah Bahh. The Deaners left for a match. Swinger was mad that Bahh was the best man. This was kinda funny.

– Gia Miller interviewed Brian Myers about cheating to defeat Willie Mack. Myers got all crazy about the allegations and started throwing tables around until Tommy Dreamer came out to stop him. He told him that he needed to chill and clean things up. Myers acted like a diva and wasn’t going to clean up anything, so they exchanged some heavy words face to face. Dreamer asked Miller what would happen if Gia made a mess, to which Gia said she’d be fired. Dreamer told Myers to respect the company. Myers said he would clean it up this time, but next time he saw Dreamer in the hall, he better walk the other way. This was another surprisingly good skit.

– Cody Deaner and Cousin Jake came out for their match, but Eric Young jumped them from behind. Young punished Cody all around the ring to send a message to Rich Swann and Scott D’Amore. Cody tried to fight back, but Young raked his eyes, hit a piledriver, and locked in an armbar and ankle lock trying to break it. Cousin Jake came down for the save, fought off Young, and actually cleared the ring. Young threatened Cousin Jake that he was next, and as soon as Jake turned his eyes to his cousin, Young returned and attacked both again. Young hit a piledriver on Cousin Jake. 

Young cut a short promo directed to Eddie Edwards, Swann, and D’Amore, telling them that all that happens from here on is on their hands. 

Young went after Cousin Jake’s ankle, but some security came out, which were also taken out. After way too long, D’Amore casually came out and asked him to let go. D’Amore got in the ring and tried to break up the ankle lock, got face to face with Young and then Young went after him, but out came Eddie Edwards, sending the champion packing.

This was really good, but it went on for too long without anyone coming out to stop him or the Deaners being able to do anything. It also worries me that Edwards is going be added to the main event of BFG and take some of the thunder away from Swann.

Afterwards, Edwards came for D’Amore, telling him that Young is walking all over him. Edwards said he wanted his rematch before Swann got his. D’Amore said that Edwards could get his match at Victory Road on October 3rd.

Rob Van Dam (w/ Katie Forbes) defeated Sami Callihan

The stipulation of the match was that if RVD could defeat Callihan, then Forbes gets five minutes alone with Callihan in the ring.

RVD rushed Callihan during his entrance and they started brawling outside the ring. They rammed each other into the guardrails and chopped each other around. Callihan had the upper hand until Katie got Callihan’s foot and allowed RVD to take him out with a couple of jumping kicks. RVD hit a rolling thunder on the floor, hit Callihan with forearms, and connected with a spinning back kick. 

In the ring, the referee called for the bell to start the match. Unfortunately for RVD, Callihan had recovered and went after him with kicks, a falling elbow, a couple of JYD headbutts, and eye pokes. RVD managed to leg sweep Callihan down and distracted the referee, allowing Forbes to get some shots in before he followed up with a springboard kick. 

RVD kept control, hitting running dropkicks to the corner, stomps, and chokes. RVD hit a leg drop and went for a pin, but Callihan got his leg on the ropes. RVD kept chasing a camel clutch, so Callihan just bit his hands to break the submission.

Rob locked in a leg scissors around Callihan, so Callihan started going after Rob’s knees. They exchanged strikes in the middle of the ring until RVD went for the eyes and regained some control, only for Callihan to come back with an eye rake of his own. Callihan hit a DDT for a two count.

Callihan went for the cactus special, but Forbes distracted the referee, making Callihan break it up and go after her. Forbes was ready, however, and used hair spray on Callihan’s eyes, allowing RVD to roll him up for the win.

Forbes now had five minutes alone with Callihan, which she took advantage of when Callihan was down. But, as soon as she started twerking, Callihan recovered and tried to piledrive her. RVD broke it up and took down Callihan. He went to hit a five star frog splash on a chair, but Callihan tossed the chair on RVD, taking him out instead. He hit the cactus special on Forbes and pinned her. 

– Gia Miller interviewed Ace Austin and Madman Fulton. Austin said that last week, he pinned Chris Sabin and thus, they are next in line for the tag team titles. The North interrupted and told them that they run this division and that Austin got the pin because The North did the work. Page and Alexander challenged Austin and Fulton to a match next week.

– Josh Mathews and Madison Rayne announced matches for next week, including The North vs. Ace Austin and Madman Fulton, Johnny Swinger vs. Fallah Bahh to become Bravo’s best man, Rosemary & Taya vs. Nevaeh & Havok, and The Rascalz vs. The Good Brothers. 

Tenille Dashwood (with Kaleb with a K) defeated Jordynne Grace

Dashwood started to strike Grace, but as soon as Grace got a hold of Dashwood, she started whipping her from corner to corner, clotheslining and tossing her around until Dashwood was forced to leave the ring. Grace tried to follow with a baseball slide, but Dashwood managed to dodge, spinning Grace around and slamming her down on the floor.

Back in the ring, Dashwood had control and worked over Grace with stomps, kicks, and quick pin attempts. Dashwood hit a draping DDT for a two count, and then went back to stomps afterward.

Dashwood went for a suplex, but Grace blocked and hit a back elbow. She went for a powerslam, but Dashwood escaped and dropped her with a reverse DDT for another two count. She went for a submission, but Grace powered out, caught Dashwood with a kick and went for another powerslam, but Dahswood escaped. Grace started chasing the Grace Driver, but Dashwood kept blocking, so Grace started hitting close distance clotheslines over and over until Dashwood was down. Grace followed with a couple of shouldertackles and a Michinoku driver for a two count. 

Grace went for a superplex, but Dashwood dropped her into a tree of woe. Dashwood slapped her, hit a double foot stomp and then followed with the Taste of Tenille for a two count. Dashwood went for a double underhook, only for Grace to power out and hit a big spinebuster for another two count. 

Dashwood escaped from a fireman’s carry attempt. Grace went for an O’Connor roll, but Dashwood still blocked. Grace landed a backfist and set up the Grace driver, but got distracted by Kaleb, allowing Dashwood to hit her running kick finisher for the win in a pretty good match.  

The end of the show saw Eddie Edwards being attacked in the dark.

Final Thoughts — 

This was a really good show by Impact. We got many storyline developments towards both Victory Road and Bound For Glory. There wasn’t a lot of in-ring work, but what we had was good.

Eric Young wins World title on Impact Wrestling

Eric Young is the new Impact World champion.

Young defeated Eddie Edwards to win the championship on tonight’s episode of Impact Wrestling. The finish of the match had Young strike Edwards with the hockey mask he wore to the ring, then pinned Edwards following a piledriver.

After the match, Young continued to attack Edwards, focusing on the leg that Edwards had injured earlier in the match. Referees eventually had to pull Young off Edwards.

Young has been pushed as one of the top heels on Impact Wrestling following his return to the company at Slammiversary. After being eliminated during the five way match for the Impact World title, Young reinjured Swann’s leg, which led to his in-storyline retirement.

Edwards won the Impact World title that night. He had been defending the title in open challenge matches in recent weeks. Young challenged Edwards to a title match last week.

This marks Young’s second reign with the championship. He last won the title on the April 10, 2014 edition of Impact, defeating Magnus (Nick Aldis).

Impact Wrestling results: Eddie Edwards vs. Eric Young

Impact Wrestling returns from Nashville, TN for the fallout of Emergence, where Deonna Purrazzo defeated Jordynne Grace in a 30 minute ironman match. 

Opening video focused on the World title match between Eddie Edwards and Eric Young and RVD vs. Sami Callihan for tonight. 

Sami Callihan defeated Rob Van Dam (with Katie Forbes)

Callihan attacked RVD during his entrance and thus started the match with a brawl outside the ring, tossing Rob to the ringpost and into the guardrails. Katie Forbes distracted Callihan allowing Rob to recover and take down Callihan before sending him into the ring.

Once in the ring, Rob distracted himself with Forbes again, giving Callihan the opening to hit a sole kick and regain control, yet there again was Forbes to trip Callihan, not once, but twice when he tried to hit a rolling senton from the apron. Despite all of this, the referee still won’t send her to the back.

RVD started working over Callihan outside the ring, against the ring post and laid out Callihan with the draping leg drop on the rail.

Back in the ring, Rob hit an atomic drop and a bad facebuster, followed by a rolling thunder, but Sami was ready to get the knees up. Callihan hit a toe kick and a low cutter, followed by a couple of clotheslines. Callihan went for the cactus special, but once again Forbes was there to distract which allowedRVD to kick him from behind, followed with the split-legged moonsault for a two count. 

RVD went for the 5-star frog splash, but was cut off by Sami, who hit a hangman style neckbreaker for a two count. Callihan went for a piledriver, and yes, once again Forbes distracted Callihan. RVD rolled up Sami, but Sami reversed and took the win with a roll up himself. 

After the match, Forbes provoked Sami, so he chased after her, but Rob jumped him and they both stomped him. Forbes hit a running hip attack onto a chair on Sami’s face, followed by the Van Daminator. 

Throughout the match, commentary kept bringing up that it seems like age has finally catched up to Rob and that Forbes needs to be banned from ringside.

Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne ran down tonight’s card.

Backstage, Hernandez defeated Bahh in an arm wrestling match. Reno Scum approached them and confirmed to Hernandez that Heath is nowhere to be seen and that they want more money to take out Rhino tonight. Hernandez accepts.

Over at Wrestle House, Rosemary and Taya cut promos about what had been happening to them. Taya came off as a total babyface because it was both Rosemary and Bravo that lied to her and Rosemary got caught keeping everyone locked because of her own personal agenda.

On the other side of the house, everyone is waiting for Swinger to come out dressed as Crazzy Steve, as per last week’s stipulation. Susie got him to finally come out and it wasn’t even that bad.

Dreamer separated Bravo to tell him that he’d be the referee for the Taya vs Rosemary match. 

Rhino defeated Reno Scum (Luster The Legend & Adam Thornstowe)

Match started at the ramp where Reno Scum tried to attack Rhino, but Rhino was ready, took them down, and took them to the ring. Unfortunately, the numbers game was too much and Rhino got cut off quickly afterwards by Luster, setting him up for a footstomp by Thornstowe.

Back from commercial, Reno Scum had been working over Rhino with quick tags and their usual clubbing style. Thornstowe got a two count with a standing moonsault. Luster with a falling headbutt. 

Rhino finally made a comeback, clotheslining Luster to the floor, but when he set up for the Gore, Luster pulled him out of the ring, only to get Gored instead. Back in the ring, Adam Thornstwe took his belt and was going to attack Rhino, but suddenly whoever was carrying the camera, put it down, got in the ring, and hit the wake up call on Thornstowe, allowing Rhino to pick up the win.

Afterwards, the cameraman unmasked and revealed himself to be Heath. At that point D’Amore came out with security to kick him out. 

ECIII cut a promo on Moose, giving him an opportunity to claim the TNA Championship, and if he didn’t, ECIII would start sending pieces of the title until he would. Moose went out looking for him. 

Backstage, The Good Brothers are telling stories to some of the crew. Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz walked up, but said they had a match with Ace and Fulton tonight and had to get ready. The Good Brothers said they had all the advice they needed since they had already kicked their butts. Rascalz left and GB continued their story.

Over at Wrestle House, everyone tried to give Bravo some advice. The Deaners confronted Larry D about their stolen beer. 

Wrestle House: Susie defeated XXXL (Acey Romero & Larry D) & The Deaners (Cody Deaner & Cousin Jake)

Acey tried to bring up the truce, but Larry was done with the truce. Deaners and XXXL started brawling in the kitchen and onto the rest of the house. Acey and Cody Deaner decided to play ping pong to settle their differences. The brawl continued when Acey and Cody headed to the basement by elevator and stairs respectively. Cody tried to use a bicycle to attack Acey, but missed and crashed into a car.

In another area of the house, Cousin Jake went for the longest spear ever from one side of the house to the other, but Acey made it back in time to save Larry D. 

The brawl continued into XXXL’s room, where Cody Deaner discovered their stolen beer. Cody powered up from the anger and hit the give’er to Larry D, but Acey was there to pounce Cody into the bed.

Acey helped Larry D up, but instead rose Lawrence D, the brainwashed version of Larry D, who knocked out Acey with some Ringrust perfume. Cousin Jake joined them and Fujied Lawrence, but right as he was going to follow up, he got interrupted by Susie, who was mad the truce was broken. 

We then saw Susie leave the room and close the door behind her. When Dreamer looked into the room, he got scared and declared Susie the winner of the match, who now had all her hands covered in blood. This was all fun and funny, i’m perfectly ok with this.

The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz) defeated Ace Austin & Madman Fulton 

Fulton and Xavier started the match with the latter using his speed to dodge Fulton’s charges, but soon enough Fulton cornered Xavier, who tried to strike back, but only got a full palm on the face and tossed into the other corner. Xavier managed to land on his feet and tried for a crucifix pin, but Fulton blocked and set up for a powerslam. Xavier escaped and tagged Wentz, and together brought down Fulton with a kick combo that ended with a footstomp by Wentz for a two count.

Wentz tried to continue the momentum by kicking Fulton, but was blocked instead. Fulton started tossing around Wentz before tagging in Ace for a springboard leg drop and a two count. Ace Austin did the paper cut trick on Wentz, set up Wentz for Fulton to hang on the corner and get a two count. Wentz tried to strike Fulton down, but it didn’t work, so instead he hit a jumping knee to get Fulton off him and jump to his corner for the tag.

Ace and Xavier tagged in, Dezmond kicked Ace to his corner, Fulton to the floor, striking combo and dropkick to the back of Ace’s head for a two count when Fulton broke it up. Wentz tricked Fulton to the floor, superkicked and hit a footstomp on Ace. Dezmond and Xavier hit dives on Fulton to get him off his feet, then followed with a splash from Xavier to Ace for the win.

After the match, the Motor City Machine Guns came out to offer them a rematch from their Slammiversary match since The Rascalz were surprised that day and still gave them a hell of a match. They now wanted a match when the Rascalz would be prepared. Ace Austin and Fulton attacked The Rascalz before they could answer, but MCMG made the save.

We saw Deonna Purrazzo arrive and berate some of the talent for their lack of fashion decency for her black tie celebration tonight. She asked Kimber Lee for support in case Jordynne Grace tried to crash the party.

TJP approached Rohit Raju. TJP said he wanted a shot at the X-Division title, but Rohit told him that he had to wait since Bey was first in line, being the former champion. Rohit told him that if he can beat Chris Bey, then TJP can skip to the front of the line.

Wrestle House: Taya Valkyrie defeated Rosemary

Taya talked trash to Rosemary, telling her that she wasn’t scared of her and her Hot Topic attire. Rosemary talked trash about Slamtown, and so they started trading slaps that turned into punches soon after. 

Rosemary went for the upside down, but Taya broke off and kicked Rosemary, followed with a running hip attack and double knees for a two count. 

Rosemary tackled Taya to the corner then hit a northern lights suplex for a two count. Rosemary speared Taya, but Taya was able to return with one of her own before they both kicked each other simultaneously. 

Rosemary accidentally speared the ringpost, leading Taya to hit the road to Valhalla for the win. 

After the match, Rosemary accepted her defeat and said that everyone could leave, but before that, Bravo proposed to Rosemary. Bravo said that she lost her match and that he’ll be Taya’s errand boy, but he still wanted to get married to Rosemary. Taya gave them her blessing. Susie and Kylie were really excited about this. Rosemary said yes. Johnny Swinger was proud because Bravo kept both women in his life.

They’re all finally going back to the Impact Zone. This was all a storyline to build to a Taya vs Rosemary match at the end. Wow.

Back at Impact, the roster is out for the black tie affair. Kimber Lee is the host and introduces the guest of honor — “The Virtuosa” Deonna Purrazzo.

Deonna thanked them all to commemorate becoming the first ever ironwoman in Impact history. She had some backhanded comments for the attendees, but they all toasted for her nonetheless. She said that she was the greatest technical women wrestler in the world and no one would ruin her night. Almost by prompt, Jordynne Grace came out. 

Grace said she wasn’t here to ruin the party, she was here to congratulate her. Deonna took her to the limit, but she wasn’t backing down now. Suddenly, Tenille Dashwood made her anticipated return. 

She said was taken aback that they had organized a black tie affair for her return. She said that she was back and going after Purrazzo’s title. Tenille said that she is not Jordynne Grace and Purrazzo has never beaten her. Jordynne came back telling Dashwood that no one had beaten her because she’s never there, and before things could be chaotic between the three, out of nowhere, Rosemary teleported everyone from Wrestle House into the ring. Yes, you read that right.

Deonna tried to attack Kylie Rae, but was tossed out of the ring instead. Kimber Lee tried to attack them, but Rae hit her with a superkick. Kylie Rae took the Knockout’s title and posed with it before giving it back respectfully. This was all good up until the return of Wrestle House, Purrazzo, Lee, and Jordynne were all great, Dashwood I never really know if she’s acting, or if that is her real promo skill level.

Gia Miller interviewed Brian Myers about defeating Willie Mack. Myers said that it wasn’t that hard, but next week, he was going to offer him to accept the defeat like a man. Moose interrupted him asking for ECIII and Myers got annoyed he was interrupted.

Matthews and Rayne ran down the matches for next week. We have Locker Room Talk with Kylie Rae and Susie, Chris Bey vs TJP for an X-Division title shot, and Motor City Machine Guns defend the titles against The Rascalz.

Eric Young defeated Impact World Champion Eddie Edwards to become the NEW World Champion

Eddie rushed at EY to start the match, hit an inverted atomic drop and a belly-to-belly, but followed with punches instead of a pin attempt. Eddie started chopping EY down, hitting headbutts. EY caught him with a low kick and got some strikes in himself, but it wasn’t long before Eddie got him with a chop again. EY had to rely on jumping to the apron and snapping Eddie’s neck on the ropes to get himself a breather. 

They exchanged punches and clotheslines before the match spilled to the floor, where Eddie dropped EY with a clothesline. They fought on the apron where Eddie tried to suplex EY, but was countered and instead EY hit a neckbreaker on the apron followed by a dropping knee to the neck for a two count. 

Eddie tried to chop away, but EY was now in control and took him down with another neckbreaker. He stomped on Eddie’s neck, stood on it against the ropes, then hit another neckbreaker for a pin attempt. Eddie managed to hit a desperation blue thunder bomb to finally stop EY’s momentum.

Eddie started making a comeback with punches and chops. EY hung Eddie from the top rope, but Eddie came back with a step-up kick and a backpack stunner for a two count. 

Eddie set up a superplex, but EY blocked it off and punched Eddie off, followed by a diving elbow for a two count. They traded more punches and chops ‘in the middle of the ring until Eddie backed him off to the corner. EY tried to snap Eddie’s neck on the ropes again but Eddie was ready and caught him with a high kick and a plancha to the floor, but it seemed that Eddie’s knee buckled when he landed. 

Back in the ring, EY chased the piledriver, but Eddie blocked and hit the tiger driver for a two count because Eddie’s knee hurt and he couldn’t properly pin EY.

EY rolled out of the ring, but Eddie got him with a second tope suicida, once again putting pressure on his knee. 

EY went for the title belt, but the referee was there to take it away, yet the distraction was enough for EY to grab his hockey mask and smack Eddie right on the head behind the referee’s eyes. EY hit a piledriver and picked up the win and won the World title. Good match, but an underwhelming title change.

After the match, EY went after Eddie’s leg with a kneebar until security pulled him off. 

The end of the show saw Moose enter ECIII’s locker room, where he discovered that ECIII had been stalking him. Moose followed a map and knew where he would find ECIII. This is getting kinda wacky.

Final Thoughts — 

Good show, we had some big developments going on tonight, even if there was also a lot of wackiness going on.
