Impact Wrestling results: Emergence night two

Impact Wrestling returns from Nashville, TN for chapter two of Emergence, main evented by the first ever 30 minute Knockout ironman match between the Knockout’s champion Deonna Purrazzo and her challenger, Jordynne Grace. Also tonight, Eddie Edwards defends the Impact World Championship in an open challenge.

The opening video was a rundown of tonight’s two big title defenses.

Impact World Champion Eddie Edwards defeated Rob Van Dam (with Katie Forbes) to retain the title

They started up with a lock up and some quick wrestling for wrist control but Eddie hit an atomic drop and belly-to-belly to send RVD to the floor to recover. Eddie tried to follow with a baseball slide, but Rob was ready for him, slammed him around a bit before sending him back to the ring. Rob instead of following up, was distracted by Forbes that wanted some kissing, allowing Eddie to once again try for the dive and succeed.

Eddie was starting to get the better of Rob, but Katie distracted him and allowed Rob to ram Eddie face-first into the ring post, to drop him on the guardrail for the leg drop from the apron.

Finally, back at the ring, Eddie and Rob traded strikes, but once again Katie interfered while Rob distracted the referee, setting up Eddie for the split-legged moonsault for the two count.

Eddie hit a blue thunder bomb but wasn’t able to follow up with a pin. Rob rolled up Eddie with some body-scissors for a two count. Eddie hit the tiger driver, but RVD kicked out at two.

Eddie went for a top rope frankensteiner, but Rob blocked twice, dropping Eddie on the ropes for a big jumping kick and rolling thunder. RVD went for the 5-star, but Eddie moved away, hit the BKP and picked up the win to retain the title. Ok match, one of Rob’s better as of late.

After the match, Eric Young rushed the ring and attacked Eddie Edwards from behind. He told Eddie that he was taking next week’s title shot.

Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne ran down tonight’s card.

Over at Wrestle House, Taya organized a team-building exercise, a toga party. Johnny Swinger is wearing a fantastic leopard print toga. Also, Swinger has started ‘Fuji-ing’ people, meaning that he throws powder in people’s eyes and he plans to take out all the men in the house to have all the ladies for himself.

Taya was somewhat inebriated in the party and bullied Kylie Rae. Bravo was apparently sad in his room because Larry D and Rosemary are out on their own. The Deaners and Acey Romero are still having problems over stolen beer, and finally Swinger accidentally Fuji’d Crazzy Steve. Tommy Dreamer declared a blindfold match, with the loser having to dress as the winner next week.

Wrestle House: Crazzy Steve defeated Johnny Swinger in a blindfold match

They did a bad joke with a horn that Steve had. Swinger asked for help from the roomies, but they weren’t much help and only led him to a roll-up from Steve. Bad, but at least it was short.

Backstage, Eddie Edwards was out looking for EY, but he’s nowhere to be seen.

We got a great commercial for Bound For Glory featuring EY.

Rhino cut a promo on Reno Scum, challenging them to a tag team match and he wanted Heath as his tag team partner. Rhino is still great.

Eddie headed to the ring and called out Eric Young to have their title match right there and then. EY came out and called Eddie pathetic. He told Eddie that he was five steps ahead of Eddie and that things were gonna go down by his design. He said his attacks on Swann were orchestrated. Eddie told EY that their title match would be next week, but the ass-whooping would start tonight, and thus they brawled and got into a pull-apart in which Eddie accidentally knocked down Scott D’Amore. Good little angle to add some heat to this match.

Gia Miller interviewed Rohit Raju about his title win. Rohit said that he manipulated Chris Bey and now he’s the X-Division champion. He said that he had been a victim of the political games, and so he got himself in a match. He said he’d give opportunities to everyone who never gets them.

We got a new episode of Locker Room Talk with Madison Rayne and The Rascalz as the special guest hosts. They’re having a miscommunication between pot and decoration, but Rayne didn’t let them smoke.

The special guests were Madman Fulton and Ace Austin. Madison brings up the Good Brothers defeating them, causing The Rascalz to laugh at Fulton and Austin. Fulton got hot and wanted to come to blows, but he was calmed down by Ace. It’s nice to see two teams antagonize each other without doing the usual wrestling shtick that leads to fights.

The Rascalz invited Madison Rayne to the treehouse, but she refused. This was all good.

We got a promo by Sami Callihan in his computer room. He blamed RVD over his loss against Eddie Edwards and thus not being world champion. He said that tonight, RVD lost because he is the one now hunting RVD’s head. He said that next week, he’ll be waiting for RVD in the ring.

We got a promo by ECIII, recapping his first world title win over Kurt Angle, saying that being champion was the happiest moment in his life, his greatest achievement, and he couldn’t let it go. He said that everything after that was downhill and that as long as this championship existed, he wouldn’t be able to move on, but he didn’t know how. He invited Moose to join him in destroying the title. This was kinda confusing.

Brian Myers defeated Willie Mack

They started with some counters and reversals on wrist control until Mack caught Myers with a shoulder tackle and an armdrag to send Myers to the corner to recoup.

Myers caught Mack with a surprise knee to the gut, cutting off Mack with some strikes and choked him against the ropes, but Mack came back with a rana and dropkick combo. Myers started to big time Mack, which ended with them trading strikes and going into the ropes where Myers snapped Mack’s throat against the ropes for a two count.

Now in control, Myers worked over Mack’s throat with a sleeper. He swept Mack’s leg for a two count, and went back to a knee to the back and crossface combo.

Mack surprised Myers with a sunset flip pin, but Myers kicked out and once again brought Mack down with a big elbow and went back to the crossface. Myers decided to go for a running attack, only to get surprised by a desperation sky high from Mack.

Mack hit a clothesline, spinning back elbow, scoop slam, and leg drop for a two count. Mack hit the Samoan drop and moonsault combo for another two count. Myers went for the top rope, but Mack stopped him. They traded some strikes, but it was Myers that dropped Mack and followed with a diving elbow for a two count.

Myers went for a DDT, but Mack dodged, only to take a spinning kick for a two count. Myers started talking trash to Mack, who responded with a strike and a book end, but Myers reversed, rolled over Mack, took the pulled the tights and stole the win. Ok match.

We got a promo by Heath calling for the fans to make #Heath4Impact to trend so he’d get the chance to back up Rhino next week.

Back at Wrestle House, The Deaners are talking about Larry D’s recent changes. Rosemary joined the party and was heading out with Larry D, who was now calling himself Lawrence D, before Alisha Edwards stopped her. She called out Rosemary for trying to make Bravo jealous and she was breaking his heart. Taya got drunk and passed out, giving Bravo some free time to go and take Rosemary back. Rosemary was about to break up with Lawrence D anyway, but Bravo jumped in, slapped Larry D out of the hex, and thus, Dreamer called for match time.

Wrestle House: Larry D defeated John E. Bravo

Bravo tried to elbow Larry D early, but didn’t do much damage and instead got taken down with one headbutt. Larry punched Bravo and knocked him out with one strike for the win.

After the match, Bravo came clean and told Rosemary that he had feelings for her. He told Taya the truth about him and Rosemary. Taya blamed Rosemary that they were all trapped in Wrestle House. She challenged her to a winner takes all match next week. Rosemary didn’t understand what ‘all’ meant, but Valkyrie mentioned that  it included Bravo.

Next week we have Sami Callihan vs Rob Van Dam, Ace Austin & Madman Fulton vs The Rascalz, and Eddie Edwards vs Eric Young for the Impact World title.

Knockout’s Champion Deonna Purrazzo defeated Jordynne Grace (2-1) in a 30 minute ironman match to retain the title

Lock up to start the match. They remained in a stand still for some time, even after Grace went for a roll up, they still maintained and got up while locked up. Jordynne broke it up and took control of the wrist. Purrazzo reversed, but Grace quickly broke out with an armdrag. Purrazzo started selling her arm.

Purrazzo took down Grace with a headlock, but Grace reversed it to leg-scissors over the neck. Tight control, but Purrazzo escaped with a headstand. Grace went for the headlock but Purrazzo escaped,  only for Grace to connect with a shoulder tackle and a couple of arm drags. Grace blocked a kick by Purrazzo, dropped her, and locked in a single leg Boston crab. Purrazzo made the ropes.

Back from commercial, Jordynne was in control, whipping Purrazzo from corner to corner. Purrazzo escaped and played a bit of cat and mouse, tricking Jordynne into a big boot to the face to finally cut her off. Purrazzo slammed Jordynne’s head on the apron before tossing her back in the ring and started to work over Grace’s arm.

Purrazzo snapped the arm over and over. Stomped on the elbow, snapped it over the ropes, dropped her on the shoulder, and sneaked pin attempts in between. Jordynne would try to strike herself to safety, but Deonna wouldn’t break the armbar until Grace made the ropes.

Deonna hit a couple of short-hand clotheslines for a two count.

At this point, there was 10 minutes to go and they were still 0-0, Purrazzo stomped on Grace’s fingers. Purrazzo kept finding ways to snap every joint in Grace’s arm and back into the armbar or kimura position.

Jordynne finally punched Deonna off of her and started using her good arm to attack with elbows and clotheslines. She went for a superplex, but Deonna pushed her down, only to take a big palm strike from Jordynne and a second rope suplex, but Grace couldn’t follow up with a pin.

Both women started trading strikes in the middle of the ring with Grace getting the upper hand and dropping Deonna with a couple of shoulder tackles, followed by two sentons for a two count. Jordynne got Deonna’s back and locked up a sleeper with leg scissors for a submission fall. Jordynne Grace is 1-0 with 5 minutes left.

Grace followed up with a body attack, but Purrazo countered with a running knee and a reverse STO and into the Koji clutch, but Grace made the ropes. Deonna stomped on Grace in desperation, chopped her, but Grace made a comeback with chops and went for the Grace driver, which Deonna fought free from. Jordynne rushed Deonna on the corner but accidentally took out the referee when Purrazzo pulled him in between them. Jordynne Grace hit the Grace driver, but the referee was down and didn’t count the pin.

Purrazzo, using the distraction, hit Grace with the championship belt and stole her first pin to tie the match 1-1 with only a minute to go.

Purrazzo went for a second pin for a two count, transitioned to the armbar, but Grace broke it off. Purrazzo kicked Grace’s arm off then followed with a big punt kick and a German suplex bridge, but Jordynne kicked out. Purrazzo locked in the Fujiwara armbar and transitioned to the Venus de Milo for a submission win with only 5 seconds left, retaining her championship. Great match, Purrazzo and Grace are fantastic!

Final Thoughts —

Great show, the main event is a must watch. The rest of the show was a lot of build up towards next week’s show, which also seems to have promise.

Brian Myers challenges for World title in Impact Wrestling return

Image: Brian Myers

Brian Myers, the former Curt Hawkins in WWE, made his in-ring return to Impact Wrestling Tuesday night and answered World Champion Eddie Edwards’ open challenge in the show’s main event.

While Myers put up a fight, Edwards picked up the victory after hitting the BKP to retain the title in a back-and-forth match.

Myers officially announced his return to the company on the July 21st Impact in a vague vignette. The 35-year-old had a brief run with Impact in 2015 as part of the Global Force Wrestling invasion angle and held the tag team titles for a day with Trevor Lee.

Myers became a free agent when he was released as part of the mass WWE cuts in April. He also made an appearance on Talk’N’Shop A Mania, put on by fellow Impact co-workers and former WWE co-workers Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

Myers was part of a recent crop of free agent signings by Impact which includes Gallows, Anderson, Heath Slater, Eric Young, and ECIII.

The full card for next week’s Impact Emergence card has been revealed, while a stipulation has been set for night two.

Impact Wrestling results: Emergence go-home show

Impact Wrestling returns from Nashville, TN for tonight’s episode, leading up to the two week Emergence event starting next week.

Opening video focused on Rich Swann’s story, from the injury, to his return at Slammiversary XVIII, to Eric Young’s initial attack at the pay-per-view, and ending with Swann’s retirement speech and second attack by EY.

Willie Mack and Eric Young were already fighting as the show began. We were told that Mack didn’t wait and went after Young backstage. They brawled for a bit until security tried to break them up, but EY and Mack kept brawling towards the ring.

The referee wouldn’t start the match, so Mack took the microphone and told EY and the referee to start the match already. EY tried to leave, but Mack brought him back the hard way, and once in the ring, the referee finally started the match.

Eric Young defeated Willie Mack

Mack started with control taking down EY with some spinning back kicks and a couple of elbows. EY did manage to snap Mack’s neck on the ropes, but Mack was still able to toss EY to the floor and land a pescado to maintain control and get a two count.

Mack went for a superplex, but EY dropped him after he bit him and hit a diving elbow for a two count. Young dropped a couple of knees and elbows for another pin attempt. Young choked Mack in the corner and went for a double axe handle from the second rope, but Mack caught him with a northern lights bridge for a two count, Young responded with a clothesline to regain control.

EY went back to work for the neck, almost choking out Mack, but Mack made a comeback. He took down EY with a sidekick, a scoop slam, and dropped a knee to the face. Mack hit the Samoan drop and standing moonsault combo for a two count.

Mack went for the stunner, but EY raked Mack’s eyes to counter. Mack was able to still hit the stunner. Mack teased going for the 6-star frog splash, but instead took out a chair. The referee told him he’d DQ Willie, but Mack said he didn’t care this time, set up a Pillmanizer and went for the top rope. However, Mack wasted too much time talking to the referee, allowing EY to recover, block Mack, and dropped him with a piledriver to pick up the win. Pretty good opener.

After the match, EY called out Eddie Edwards.

Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne ran down the card for tonight, and some of Emergence’s matches.

Backstage, The Good Brothers were out looking for Ace Austin and Madman Fulton.

We now went to Wrestle House. Taya is getting everyone together to give them good news and another activity. She wants to show them Taya’s Greatest Hits. Cody Deaner told us that Cousin Jake was sick. Alisha Edwards said that Susie was sick too. So Taya played her Impact debut to everyone while she made Bravo give her a massage.

Johnny Swinger is telling stories to Crazzy Steve, who is eyeing Rosemary, who is eyeing Bravo. So Crazzy Steve sat down with Rosemary and asked her if she’s troubled or something, jealous maybe.

In another room, Susie and Cousin Jake are going on a date.

Back on Impact, Reno Scum jumped Rhino and stole back the money for Hernandez.

Jordynne Grace defeated Kimber Lee

Collar and elbow to start the match. Grace got the early advantage with a couple of clotheslines and a sidewalk slam for a two count. Grace whipped Lee from corner to corner; she went for another clothesline, but Lee pulled the referee between them, allowing Lee to catch Grace with a roundhouse kick and gain control.

Back from commercial, Kimber Lee has been working on Jordynne’s left knee, stomping it against the ring and locking in a kneebar. Lee chopped Grace a bit and went for a suplex, but Grace blocked it and reversed to one of her own.

Grace came back with shoulder blocks and an elbow to the back, ending with a spinebuster for a two count. Lee tried to go for a sunset flip pin that triggered a couple of pin reverses until Lee hit an enzuigiri and German bridge for a two count.

Kimber Lee went for a swanton, but Jordynne blocked her and went for a superplex. Lee heatbutted Grace down and hit the swanton,  but Grace got the knees up, took a hold of Lee with a sleeper, and tapped out Lee. Good short match.

We got a new episode of Locker Room Talk with Madison Rayne, with guests Rob Van Dam and Katie Forbes. Madison asked how they felt being back to their normal selves. They said it was great and started making out, so Madison just walked out on them. They took over and Katie interviewed Rob instead, they mostly talked about themselves when suddenly Sami Callihan appeared and jumped on Rob. Katie saved Rob from a Cactus special by spraying Sami’s eyes, allowing Rob to recover. They both stomped on Callihan before leaving.

Heath Miller bought a 30-second ad from Locker Room Talk to make a case to get signed by Impact.

Somewhere backstage, Trey Miguel surprised Wentz and Xavier with a Suicide mask. Moose stumbled up to them and berated Wentz who had an ECIII hoodie. Trey had the Suicide mask on, so Moose mistook him and got an invitation from Moose for a title shot next week.

Back at Wrestle House, Taya was still making everyone watch her matches, while Rosemary started eyeing someone that she could make Bravo jealous with. She put a love curse on Larry D. Acey Romero noticed something odd in Larry D when he said that there’s more to life than food, and so they got into a fight so Acey could knock some sense into Larry.

Wrestle House: Larry D defeated Acey Romero

They started punching each other, Acey hit the first body block to bring Larry down. Acey hit a dropkick, but failed to hit a senton when Larry D moved away. Larry went for the clothesline, but Acey dodged the first, Larry landed a second one and won the match. Larry D dedicated the match to Rosemary.

Susie and Cousin Jake went to their date. They had nothing to talk about. Susie just said she had the runs for some reason.

Deonna Purrazzo cut a promo on Jordynne Grace. She said that Grace had been acting aggressive and ruthless, not apt for a champion, but she did deserve a rematch. She challenged Jordynne Grace to a 30 minute Knockout’s Ironman match at Emergence.

We got a video package for The North vs The Motor City Machine Guns for Emergence. MCMG talked about new teams copying them, while The North talked about being the best because they studied their opponents and were caught unprepared. Winning one time doesn’t mean they’re better than The North.

Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz defeated Havok & Nevaeh in a No DQ match

Tasha and Hogan came out but hid from their opponents. Havok and Nevaeh came out for their entrance, but Tasha and Hogan were there to jump them from behind to start the brawl. Tasha choked Havok on one side, while Hogan and Nevaeh brawled on the other side.

In the ring, Havok caught Tasha from the top rope and dropped her with a black hole slam. She set her up on the tree of woe and dropped her with an elbow. Havok followed with the running boot, but Hogan grabbed at Havok’s leg to save Tasha, allowing her to take a chair and drop Havok. Hogan and Tasha superkicked Havok to take her out.

Nevaeh jumped to the ring and clotheslined both Hogan and Tasha, then followed with suplexes on Tasha, getting a two count.

Outside the ring, Hogan tricked Havok into running knee first into the steel steps. Hogan helped out Tasha, attacking Nevaeh from behind with an object. They connected a couple of running dropkicks to Nevaeh in the corner while they kept Havok at bay. Hogan hit a neckbreaker on Nevaeh for another two count.

Havok brought out a table outside the ring. Havok and Nevaeh tried to toss Hogan to the table, but Tasha saved her and all four started trading strikes, ending with everyone getting a kick. Havok went for a tombstone on Tasha, but was saved by Hogan, and instead went for a double suplex, blocked by Havok and reversed into a suplex of her own.

Havok charged at Hogan and Tasha, but was sent into the apron instead. Havok tried to suplex Tasha to the table, but Tasha blocked and locked in a sleeper. Tasha released, superkicked Havok, and Hogan hit a second, sending Havok to the table.

Nevaeh attacked them with a street sign, but Hogan dodged, hit a swinging neckbreaker, and pinned Nevaeh for the win. Good match, went by quick. Tasha and Hogan are great.

Gallows and Anderson asked D’Amore about Ace Austin’s whereabouts, but he said he didn’t know.

Moose was walking backstage when a video played of ECIII saying he was going after Moose because Moose had decided to become synonymous with TNA.

Dezmond Xavier (with Zachary Wentz) vs Suicide was a no contest

Match started with a sequence of counters and reversals, wrestling for wrist control. Xavier was going for some punches, when suddenly, The Good Brothers came down.

Gallows and Anderson took out The Rascalz and Suicide, the latter with the magic killer. This felt totally WCW/WWE how they treated their young talent.

Anderson cut a promo saying that they were going to wait all night for Ace Austin and Fulton to come out and fight. Ace and Fulton appeared on the tron, telling them they’re not there, not even in the same state. Ace said they’ll get their fight next week at Emergence.

Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week was Cody vs Eddie Edwards from October 2nd, 2016’s episode of Impact.

Backstage, Rohit Raju approached Chris Bey about losing last week. Rohit tried to get himself into a three-way at Emergence so they could gang up on TJP. Bey accepted since he had already beaten Rohit before.

We got yet another vignette for Brian Myers. He called himself the most professional wrestler.

Back at Wrestle House, Susie and Jake ended their really awkward date with Jake kinda provoking Su Yung to come out. Alisha asked Susie if she had done everything she told her for the date, but Susie said her advice was bad. This was enough for Alisha to ask for a match with Susie. Zero patience this lady.

Wrestle House: Susie defeated Alisha Edwards

Alisha started pushing around Susie, causing her to slap Suzie. They had an overplayed catfight spot before the referee, Crazzy Steve, separated them. Susie caught Alisha with a palm strike, but when she tried to follow up, Alisha caught her with a clothesline. They traded some strikes in the middle of the ring before Alisha dropped Susie, but the latter schoolgirled Alisha for the win. The best thing about this was Crazzy Steve as the referee.

After the match, Taya told them all to go back to the house to watch more Taya matches. Kylie Rae objected. Taya told that Rae had never beaten a champion, so Rae challenged Taya. Rosemary stopped Dreamer from calling the match.

Matthews and Rayne ran down the card for Emergence. Next week is Kylie Rae vs. Taya, Moose defending the TNA World title against Trey Miguel, Chris Bey vs. TJP vs. Rohit Raju for the X-Division title, The Good Brothers vs. Ace Austin and Fulton, and finally, The North vs MCMGs for the tag titles.

In Emergence night two, Deonna Purrazzo will defend against Jordynne Grace in a 30 minute ironman match, and Eddie Edwards will hold another open challenge if he can defend tonight.

Eddie Edwards came down for his open challenge. He took a microphone and called out Eric Young for the challenge. Instead, Brian Myers came out. Myers said that in his hands, that belt would become a ‘championship’.

Impact World Champion Eddie Edwards defeated Brian Myers to retain the title

Match started with Myers relying on the ropes to escape Edwards as he was getting pushed around. Eventually, he managed to be the one to push Eddie to the ropes but instead he went for the strike that Eddie dodged, but not the clothesline that followed.

Eddie and Myers traded some shoulder tackles, but it was the latter that managed to capitalize for a bit, at least until Eddie clotheslined him to the floor.

Back from commercial, Myers is back in the ring, trading momentum with Eddie, who hit an atomic drop and over-the-head suplex. Myers caught Eddie in the ropes and sent him shoulder first to the ring post to finally stop Eddie’s momentum.

Myers worked on Eddie’s back, ramming him to the apron and a couple of knees for a two count. Myers kept the offense until Eddie managed to send him to the floor and follow with a quick suicide dive. Eddie seemed to hurt his knee, which Myers took advantage of.

Back in the ring, Myers hit a backplex for a two count, then went into a sleeper. Eddie made a comeback, suplexing Myers into the turnbuckles. Eddie hit a step-up enzuigiri and the backpack stunner for a two count.

Eddie went for the tiger driver, but Myers escaped and hit an evenflow DDT for a two count. Eddie caught Myers with a superkick, a forearm, and hit the tiger driver, but Myers kicked out at two. Eddie set up for the BKP, but Myers dodged and hit a pele kick. Myers hit the ropes, but Eddie caught him with the BKP on the comeback and picked up the win. Good match, Myers looked okay.

Final thoughts —

Good show by Impact, quite strong in the ring, and it worked as a go-home show for next week’s Emergence show.

Impact Wrestling results: Two championships on the line

Impact Wrestling returns from Nashville, TN for tonight’s episode, where both the TNA World Championship and Impact World Championship will be defended.

Opening video focused on Eddie Edwards’ successful defense against Trey Miguel from last week. There was also footage of Heath getting a shot at the TNA World Championship, Jordynne Grace’s return, The Good Brothers’ in-ring debut, and ECIII’s warning video.

Self-Proclaimed TNA World Champion Moose defeated Heath to retain his title

Moose started the match pushing around Heath, who had to come back with strikes and a clothesline to send Moose to the floor. They brawled around the ring, ramming each other into the barricades and stomping each other into the apron.

Back in the ring, Heath continued with momentum, striking around Moose. But out of desperation, Moose tossed Heath throat-first into the ropes and cut him off.

Moose worked on the throat for a while, choking Heath against the ropes. Heath tried to strike his way back, but was easily cut off again.

As Moose kept working over Heath, he started getting cockier, talking trash after whipping him from corner to corner. But after talking trash about Heath’s family, Heath fired up and started going at him with running strikes, a running knee, and a sidekick to finally bring down Moose for a two count.

Heath followed with another school boy for a second two count. Heath then accidentally tossed Moose into the referee and hit the wake-up call for a visual pin, but the referee was down. Heath woke up the referee, but Moose took advantage to low blow Heath and steal the win.

Heath will remain unemployed for now, but this was a good showing for Heath, he looked like a completely different person.

Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne ran down tonight’s card, as well as announce the Emergence shows on August 18 and August 25, where Purrazzo defends against Jordynne Grace.

Gia Miller interviewed Willie Mack about Rich Swann’s announcement for tonight. Mack said he didn’t know much, Rich was keeping it to his own. Mack said that he was pissed at Eric Young for what he did to Swann.

We got another promo by ECIII. He said that he achieved all he wanted, but ever since, he got punished by the fanbase and management who were fighting for control of the company, punished because of his last name. He said he would regain the TNA World Championship and finally burn and bury the legacy of that title. He told Moose he was going after him.

Jimmy Jacobs brought out Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin for a sitdown interview. Jacobs asked them about returning to Impact. Shelley said that after all these years, their hard work was paying off and that their separate work had taken them to a lot of success. But after injuries and rehab, they gravitated to each other and started wondering if they could do it again against the Impact roster.

The North finally interrupted them and came down to the ring. Page is still quiet, not even wearing The North’s uniform, so Alexander did the talking. He said that MCMG were being given things by management without earning them, while The North had to earn their shots and keep the titles for so long. Page finally snapped and said that they didn’t beat The North, they beat a North that were not at 100%.

Shelley said that they would give them their rematch whenever they wanted, even now. Alexander said that they would return at 100% and reclaim the titles at Emergence.

Backstage, Kimber Lee walked into Deonna Purrazzo’s locker room. She said that she doesn’t trust Purazzo can retain against Jordynne Grace at Emergence, so she offered to take Jordynne out if Purrazzo gives her a shot at the title.

We got another installment of Wrestle House. Taya is trying to get everyone together for some bonding exercise and get some of these people to take a shower, so she passed around soap for everyone. Meanwhile, Susie and Cousin Jake are flirting, Kylie Rae is trying to get back to Impact for her title match, and Johnny Swinger is antagonizing Alisha Edwards and getting himself into a handicap match. This is still bad, but at least they’re starting to introduce some stories and motivations for the characters.

Wrestle House: Alisha Edwards & Susie defeated Johnny Swinger

Swinger figured he would start the match by showing his guns, but Alisha and Susie teamed up and went for double team moves. Swinger kept hitting on them, so they pulled his legs and hit a double splash for the pin. This was terrible, worse actually.

Back in the house, Kylie Rae tried to get Bravo to take the hints that Rosemary was tossing at him, so they could all go home.

Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week was Sami Callihan winning the Impact World Championship from Brian Cage.

Outside the building, The Good Brothers realized that someone had broken into their car and left opened beers on the floor. Sheriff and security approach them, just in time for Ace Austin to trick Gallows into getting arrested when he accidentally punched the sheriff.

We got another vignette for Brian Myers. Still no debut date.

Eddie Edwards came down for his open challenge, which was answered by Sami Callihan. Iin an awesome visual, when the lights flickered during Callihan’s entrance, there was another shadow there with a chair — Rob Van Dam. RVD took out Callihan with the chair until security took him away. Regardless, Callihan still accepted the challenge.

Impact World Champion Eddie Edwards defeated Sami Callihan to retain the title

Eddie tried to talk him out of the match, but Callihan responded with a slap. Eddie hit a tiger driver immediately for a two count. Eddie kept Callihan down with punches and dropping knees. Eddie went for a running shoulder tackle to the corner, but Callihan sidestepped, sending Eddie shoulder first into the corner and out to the floor. Callian followed with a suicide dive. Eddie managed to recover quickly and return the favor with a dive of his own.

They brawled a bit outside and onto the apron where Eddie went for another tiger driver, but Sami blocked and went after Eddie’s eye. Instead, it was Callihan who dropped Eddie with a Cactus special on the apron. Since Callihan couldn’t pin Eddie outside, he decided to keep brawling and tossed Eddie into the guardrail.

Back in the ring, Callihan dropped an elbow for a two count, then went right into the choke. They traded boots until the double clothesline left them both down for the ten count tease. They continued trading strikes, but Eddie was trying to chop a protecting vest, so instead he hit a blue thunder bomb for a two count.

Eddie looked for another tiger bomb, but Callihan blocked. Eddie tried to roll him up instead, but again Sami countered with a kick and a brainbuster for a two count. They traded more strikes. Callihan seemed to try to hit the DVD, but instead hit a version of the GTS and a running forearm for another two count.

Eddie caught Sami with two elbows and a jumping kick and hit the tiger driver for yet another two count. Sami hit a second cactus special, but Eddie was next to the ropes.

Callihan brought out a chair, but had second thoughts. He got rid of it, but all the distraction gave Eddie the opening to hit the Boston Knee Party and a shining wizard for the win. Pretty good match, though this could have been promoted for a week.

Back at Wrestle House, Bravo decided to leave both Taya and Rosemary, who were onto Rae for getting involved. Rosemary asked Dreamer for a match with Rae. See, this installment was perfect! Short and Rosemary and Rae played their parts well.

Wrestle House: Kylie Rae defeated Rosemary

Taya is the referee for the match. She antagonized and distracted Kylie Rae to allow Rosemary to jump her from behind. Kylie recovered and took down Rosemary with a nice headlock, leading to some nice mat wrestling with Rae countering Rosemary over and over. Rae covered Rosemary, but Taya wouldn’t count, saying her hand hurt.

Kylie Rae distracted Rosemary telling her she had stolen her nose, but once again, Taya helped Rosemary to realize that it was a trick. Rosemary blocked a superkick and stomped on Rae for a bit, but as she rushed at Rae at the corner, Kylie dodged and hit a running European uppercut, followed by a cannonball, and once again, Taya didn’t count the pin.

Rosemary hit a spear, but Kylie kicked out at the fast count. At this point, Bravo joined the crowd and by chanting for Rosemary, he distracted Rosemary who took a superkick. Taya was forced to count the pin since Rosemary was completely out. Ok comedy match.

After the match, Bravo looked after Rosemary. Bravo said that he couldn’t choose between Rosemary and Taya since Taya had done so much for him. Taya berated Bravo after.

Backstage, Karl Anderson was on a call with Gallows, telling him that he’s getting things fixed. Ace Austin approached him. Anderson replied with an elbow to the face. Fulton jumped Anderson from behind, taking out Anderson.

Hernandez tried to recruit Reno Scum to help him get his money back from Rhino. Reno Scum agreed.

TJP & Fallah Bahh defeated X-Division Champion Chris Bey & Rohit Raju

Bey and TJP started the match, wrestling for wrist control with a series of counters and reversals. It later transitioned into a sequence of ranas and reversals, but it was TJP who drew first blood when he tricked Bey, locked in a quick Pentagon armbreaker, and snapped Bey’s arm. Bahh tagged in and hit a belly-to-belly on Raju, a falling elbow.

Back from commercial, TJP and Bahh have been working on Bey, but thanks to the distraction from Rohit, Bey manages to dropkick TJP and cut him off, finally separating him from Bahh.

Rohit hit a low superkick for a two count. Pancake and a running dropkick for another two count.

Bey came in, but TJP caught him with a donkey kick and a tornado DDT to get the opening to tag out.

Bahh ran wild over Rohit, but when he went for the running cannonball, Rohit caught him with a great jumping knee.

Bey and TJP tagged in again. TJP hit two amigos and a backplex, then went for a swanton. Bey moved, hit TJP with a spinning kick, then set him up for a flatliner by Rohit for a two count when Bahh broke it up. Bey went for an ozcutter, but TJP reversed it into the cross armbreaker and submitted Bey for the win. Great match.

After the match, Chris Bey threw a fit. TJP vs Bey seems to be where this is going.

Matthews and Rayne ran down some of the matches for next week, including Havok and Nevaeh vs. Tasha Steelz and Kiera Hogan in a No DQ match, Jordynne Grace vs. Kimber Lee, and Eddie Edwads’ open challenge.

Rich Swann came down to the ring for his announcement, back in crutches. Swann said that thanks to heart, love, and support, he was able to become a wrestler. In January, he got injured and was told that he’d be walking with a limp for the rest of his life and thus no more wrestling. He worked hard to rehab and prove that doctor wrong, and finally, he was able to return at Slammiversary XVIII. He managed to pin Eric Young in that match, and EY’s jealousy came back at him and brought him back to seven months ago with a potential career ending injury.

Swann announced that he is retiring. Thanked everyone who supported him, to all the talent in the back who bust their ass for Impact Wrestling. Out came the roster to applaud. Swann made it up the ramp for the final goodbye, and suddenly EY jumped him, broke the crutch on his leg. The whole roster went after EY while Mack and Eddie tended to Swann. Eric Young is making an argument for heel of the year.

Final Thoughts —

Pretty good show by Impact, miles better than last week. Good action inside the ring, several storyline developments as they start to build towards Emergence, and even Wrestle House was watchable.

Impact Wrestling results: The Good Brothers vs. Reno Scum

Impact Wrestling returns from Nashville, TN for tonight’s episode, main evented by the newly crowned Impact World Champion Eddie Edwards defending against Trey Miguel. Also, the in-ring debut of Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows.

Opening video recapped ECIII’s return to the promotion, Trey Miguel challenging Eddie Edwards to a title match, the developing feud between The Good Brothers and Ace Austin, and the Motor City Machine Guns defeating The North to end their record breaking reign with the tag team titles.

Impact World Champion Eddie Edwards defeated Trey Miguel to retain the title

Good opener, it started slow, but it picked up towards the end.

Collar and elbow to start the match, clean break and a bit of a stalemate until Trey went for the lucha armdrag to change the pace. Trey landed an early bulldog, rana, and dropkick combo for a quick pin attempt, and back into the headlock.

Eddie started to come back with strikes, hit an atomic drop, and over-the-head belly-to-belly to turn things around. Blue thunder bomb for a two count. Eddie continued with chops and whipping Trey from corner to corner, going for pin attempts here and there.

Trey finally found an opening to dodge Eddie’s attack and went for the comeback with a kick combo into a neckbreaker for a two count. He went for the top rope split-legged moonsault, but Eddie caught him with his knees. Trey and Eddie exchanged forearms and superkicks, ending with a Pele kick by Trey.

Back from commercial, Eddie and Trey continued to trade strikes in the middle of the ring. Trey dropped Eddie and hit a low cutter for a two count.

Trey went for the meteora, but Eddie dodged and went for the tiger driver. Trey reversed into a roll up for a two count. Eddie caught Trey with a clothesline then landed the tiger driver, getting a two count.

Eddie went for the Boston knee party, but Trey caught him with a jumping knee, sending him to the ropes. Eddie used that momentum to come back with the BKP for the win.

After the match, Eric Young came out again. Eddie called him into the ring, but Young walked away.

Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne ran down tonight’s card.

We got the debut of Wrestle House. Taya is trying to leave the house, but Rosemary turned the doors into portals to hell where Abyss was. At this point, everyone realized that this is no one’s house and that they can’t leave. Tommy Dreamer is the host since this is apparently this is his house, not the House of Hardcore though.

Deaner and XXXL got into a fight and everyone called for them to have a truce, which they obliged. Dreamer announced that the winner of Wrestle House will win one million dollars, though Rosemary told Dreamer that he knew that wasn’t true.

Everyone fought over who would be sleeping where. Acey Romero and Crazzy Steve argued over who would sleep in the ring. Suddenly, Acey and Steve were in their wrestling gear and were about to do a match.

Acey Romero defeated Crazzy Steve

Kylie Rae was the referee of the match.

Match started with Crazzy Steve telling Acey that they could share, but Acey didn’t want to and went after Steve, who managed to dodge for a bit, but eventually, Acey got a hold of him and tossed him around.

They did some comedy, making Acey run the ropes, but Acey caught Steve, hit a Bubba bomb, locked in a sleeper, and Rae called for the bell early. Taya talked some trash to Rae.

This whole thing was terrible, mainly because half of these people can’t act. Kylie Rae, Taya, and Johnny Swinger made it worth it.

Backstage, Bahh and TJP messed with Rohit Raju for not wearing a mask. Rohit told them to join him going after Chris Bey, but TJP said he was happy in the tag team division. Rohit talked him into getting into the X-Division again.

Rohit ran around looking for Chris Bey to tell him that TJP was coming after Bey’s title and that he had Bey’s back to protect him from Fallah Bahh.

Gia Miller interviewed Ace Austin and Madman Fulton. Ace said that he had problems with The Good Brothers who arrived and disrespected them.

We got a great video package about the careers of the Motor City Machine Guns.

The North cut a promo backstage. Page had nothing to say, but Alexander said that they were still the best tag team in the company’s history. They wanted their rematch against the MCMGs.

Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week was Beer Money, Inc vs MCMGs from Victory Road 2010.

We saw Rob Van Dam getting ready to reveal Katie Forbes new set of photographs.

We got a promo by ECIII, talking about his history, a history that he was here to destroy and start from scratch, calling his own shots. He said the old ECIII was a reflection of failure because he sold his soul to achieve those wins. He will destroy his past to carve a new future.

Moose got interviewed by Miller. Moose put himself over for defeating Fallah Bahh last week and that he would make another invitation for his TNA World title. Miller asked about ECIII, but Moose said he didn’t want to talk about him and said he wouldn’t be getting a title shot.

Heath approached Moose and asked for the invitation. Heath tried to trick Moose into saying that there was no TNA Championship, so Moose gave him the title shot.

Scott D’Amore approached Heath and told him that next week, if he wins, he gets a roster spot.

Knockout’s Champion Deonna Purrazzo defeated Kimber Lee in a non-title match.

Pretty good for the short time it got. Lee rushed Purrazzo to start the match with strikes and pushed her to the ropes, dropping her with a tilt-a-whirl headscissors, forcing Purrazzo to escape the ring to get a breather. Lee dropped her with a big boot for a two count.

Kimber Lee started going for Purrazzo’s arms with a full nelson body-scissors submission. Purrazzo started to punch herself free, and managed to stomp Lee’s elbow to incapacitate her. Purrazzo started kicking and stomping on Lee’s arm, snapping it against the ropes.

Lee locked in a desperation tarantula on the ropes to get a quick opening and dropped Purrazzo with a kick combo, but only for a two count. Kimber Lee got a bit cocky for her own good, and got into a striking battle with Purrazzo who got the last kneelift and side leg sweep. But when she went for the Fujiwara armbar, Lee reversed into a crucifix pin for a two count.

Lee went back for the strikes, but her arm was hurting. She went to the top rope, but Purrazzo pulled her off, snapped Lee’s armbar a la Pentagon Jr, locked in the Fujiwara armbar and submitted Lee for the win.

After the match, Jordynne Grace returned with her arm in a sling. She then took it off and took down Purrazzo. Grace punched Purrazzo, sending  her packing. Grace still sold the arm after the fight.

Backstage, Katie Forbes stumbled upon Sami Callihan, who she thought was a fan.

We got another vignette for Brian Meyers. He really doesn’t look impressive.

We got another installment of Wrestle House, with Johnny Swinger giving Crazzy Steve a chance to be his young boy in exchange to stay with him. In another room, Cody Deaner couldn’t sleep because Cousin Jake snores. They argued about who woke up who with Jake’s snores. Dreamer was in Jake’s bed for a reason and said they’ll be wrestling in the morning.

We then saw a cartoon rooster announcing that it was morning. This is bad, really bad.

Cousin Jake defeated Cody Deaner

They started arguing about who snores more, then they pushed each other a bit. Cody offered Jake a truce, but when Jake bent over, Cody rolled him to a small package for a two count. Cody poked Jake’s eyes, went for the ten punches then hit a palm strike, but Jake recovered and hit a body block to take down Cody.

Cousin Jake hit the give’er, but Cody kicked out. Jake locked in a submission, but Cody powered up, hit a jawbreaker and hit the Dusty punches. Cody went for a tornado DDT, but Jake blocked, hit the sidewalk slam and won the match.

After the match, Cody Deaner found an RV to sleep in. I have a bad feeling this Wrestle House is going to derail the good will Impact has gained.

Ken Shamrock and Sami Callihan met backstage. Callihan wanted an explanation by Shamrock, but Ken blew him off and left. Katie Forbes told RVD that Callihan was creeping on him. RVD told Callihan to keep his distance.

Forbes then came down to the ring, along with Rob Van Dam. They’re here to promote Forbes’ new website by showing off some of her photos. When the photos showed up, Callihan hacked the video and put his face all over Forbe’s pictures. Katie had the worst acted breakdown in Impact history, while RVD tried to calm her. This was worse than Wrestle House.

Xavier and Wentz were in the treehouse. They talked about Trey not being there and being somewhat distant. Xavier invited Suicide to join them instead, but Wentz was freaking out about the mask. Suicide was smoking inside the mask. They all got high. Xavier was freaked out by Suicide and Wentz started conspirying that Suicide and Acey Romero were the same person.

Next week, TJP and Bahh vs Rohit Raju and Chris Bey, Moose vs Heath, a MCMG interview, and another Eddie Edwards open challenge.

Josh Matthews interviewed Rich Swann via Skype. Swann said he was disappointed that it took him 7 months to recover, and in one match, Eric Young took him out. He said that he will be on Impact next week to address his future.

The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) defeated Reno Scum (Luster The Legend & Adam Thornstowe)

The Good Brothers were billed from Tokyo, Japan.

Anderson and Thornstowe started the match with a collar and elbow lock up, but Adam pushed Anderson to the ropes and raked the eyes for the early advantage. Anderson recovered quickly and took down Thornstowe with a shoulder tackle. They exchanged some strikes in the corner before Anderson took down Adam again and tagged in Gallows.

Gallows punched around Thornstowe and dropped some elbows repeatedly, getting a two count. Anderson tagged in again for a double team kick combo, but at this point, Ace Austin walked out to the ramp to watch the match, distracting Gallows and Anderson. This allowed Reno Scum to cut off Anderson with the battering ram.

Reno Scum worked over Anderson with quick tags and mostly strikes. Thornstowe got a two count with a standing moonsault.

Anderson eventually managed to block a DDT from Thornstowe and hit a spinebuster, getting the opening to tag in Gallows, who took out Luster with a big boot, dropped Thornstowe with an elbow hit the magic killer on Thornstowe and picked up the win.

After the match, Ace distracted Anderson and Gallows, allowing Reno Scum to attack them, who they took out easily. Madman Fulton then emerged. Both teams brawled backstage, out of the building, and into the street as the show went off the air.

Final thoughts —

This was a bad show for Impact. The Wrestle House and the Katie Forbes angle really brought down the show that otherwise, was having good action inside the ring and some developing storylines.

World title match, Good Brothers debut set for next week’s Impact

Two weeks after winning the Impact World title for a second time, Eddie Edwards will defend the belt in seven days against one of the men that tried to win it at Slammiversary.

On Tuesday’s Impact, Edwards accepted a backstage challenge from Trey Miguel for next week’s show. Miguel was in the five-way main event for the vacant World title at Slammiversary but was eliminated by the returning Eric Young. Edwards and Young got in a pull apart brawl Tuesday after Young came out to confront the champion during a promo segment.

Next week’s show will also feature the Impact in-ring debut of The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows) against Reno Scum. The match was made Tuesday when Ace Austin and Madman Fulton distracted the Good Brothers as they were on the street, enabling Adam Thornstowe and Luster the Legend to jump them from behind. Anderson and Gallows fought them off before turning their attention back to Austin and Fulton who drove away.

Impact Wrestling results: The North vs. The Motor City Machine Guns

Impact Wrestling returns from Nashville, TN for the fallout of Slammiversary XVIII, where three new champions were crowned.

Show started with ECIII cutting a promo about people being controlled by the media, government, politicians, corporations, and even love. He said that we need to fight back against those that want to control us and we must control our narrative. Really good promo, it’s ECIII’s forte.

Impact debuted a new entrance video and theme, a far better one.

X-Division Champion Chris Bey defeated Willie Mack to retain the title.

Willie Mack is cashing in his rematch clause.

Bey started the match with a shotgun dropkick and a quick pin attempt. After kicking out, Bey and Mack started rolling around, trading fists. They stood and continued trading strikes. Eventually Mack managed to floor Bey, but before he could follow up Bey pulled him to the outside. Bey went for a plancha, but Mack caught him and slammed him down on the floor.

Back in the ring, Mack hit a senton atomico. He tried to follow with a running clothesline on the corner, but Bey dodged and hit a draping neckbreaker for a two count. Bey followed with a headlock, but Mack powered up, escaped, and hit a backfist. When Bey tried to hit a moonsault, Mack dodged and hit a moonsault himself.

Mack went for the stunner, but Bey blocked. Mack caught him with a pop-up forearm then went for the 6-star frog splash, but Bey moved, hit a springboard cutter, and picked up the win. Good match, but really short.

Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne ran down some of tonight’s matches and also recapped the events from Slammiversary. They hyped the debut of the Good Brothers and ECIII’s return.

The Good Brothers came down to the ring. Anderson cut a promo about arriving on Impact Wrestling, how Slammiversary was trending #1 worldwide because of them. Gallows talked about selling out their t-shirt overnight. They had some beers to celebrate, but Ace Austin interrupted them, along with Madman Fulton.

Ace told them that he understood why they attacked him on Saturday, they went for the top two guys in Impact. Ace wanted an apology. Ace threw Anderson’s beer, so they started brawling. The Good Brothers cleared the ring. This was somewhat weak.

Backstage, Heath arrived trying to get in, but he wasn’t on the list. He didn’t even have a last name. He called out Rhino, but he was distracted with Hernandez about their arm-wrestling dispute. They both ended up challenging each other to a fight for the money. I don’t know why Heath can’t use ‘Miller’ on Impact.

In his locker room, Chris Bey was thanking some ladies, who seem to be his assistants. Rohit Raju arrived and wanted to celebrate with Bey too. Raju said that Bey has a bullseye on his back, so he offered his help to look out for Bey.

Havok & Nevaeh defeated Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz by DQ

Steelz and Nevaeh started the match, with the latter striking down Steelz and dropping her with a slam and a crucifix pin for an early two count. Havok came in with a backbreaker into a neckbreaker by Nevaeh.

Hogan tagged in but ate a big boot by Havok as she came in. She managed to dodge a second boot and hit a dropkick, but Havok wasn’t phased and took down Hogan with a clothesline. Nevaeh tagged in, but distracted herself with Steelz, allowing Hogan to clip her from behind and cut her off from her corner.

Hogan and Steelz worked over Nevaeh in their corner, using many quick tags, going for strikes and chokes, getting near falls in between. Eventually, Nevaeh caught Steelz with a clothesline, but couldn’t follow up and ate a bicycle kick by Tasha. Nevaeh kicked Tasha again and went for the tag, but Hogan distracted the referee and the tag didn’t take place. Nevaeh hit a desperation neckbreaker and finally tagged in Havok.

Havok ran wild over Hogan and Steels, clotheslines and running boots to the corner. Hogan got her with a sleeper, but Havok got her off. Hogan went for a tilt-a-whirl, but Havok reversed into a piledriver. Tasha tried to save Hogan with a chair for the DQ, but Havok held on and still hit the piledriver on Hogan.

Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week was Eddie Edwards first World Title win over Bobby Lashley.

Backstage, Sami Callihan confronted Ken Shamrock for losing the match on Saturday. Shamrock accepted it, but wasn’t having it today. He said to complain next week. Callihan was as confused as I was after this.

RVD and Katie Forbes cut a promo talking about the changes in Impact for the better. They promoted Forbes new website. They’re done with the CancelCulture gimmick, but they’re still the heelish characters they were a couple of months prior.

Rhino defeated Hernandez

It took me longer to write this than the match. Rhino caught Hernandez with the Gore by surprise and won the cash.

The North cut a promo backstage about being the greatest tag team in the company’s history, but they never get a chance to celebrate. They said that the people said that the MCMG were the greatest and most innovative and such, but that was all opinions, yet The North’s longest reign in Impact’s history is a fact.

We got a vignette for Brian Myers. It looked similar to Kurt Angle’s initial vignettes in TNA. Impact didn’t say who was in the video, but Myers later identified himself on social media.

A video collection aired of post-match promos by the winners of Slammiversary XVIII.

Gia Miller interviewed Deonna Purrazzo about her next move. Purrazzo said she wouldn’t reveal, but since Grace was injured with a separated shoulder, she’d just enjoy the reign. Up walked Kylie Rae and introduced herself as the next challenger. Deonna offered a handshake, only to swerve Rae into the Fujiwara armbar, but Rae was able to block it before Alisha Edwards and Kimber Lee ran up to break up the fight.

Eddie Edwards came down to the ring to address his championship win. Eddie talked about how it felt so right to call himself the Impact World Champion. He said that his journey brought him to the title, and now a new one starts. Eddie said that he wants stability in Impact and that he wants to be the champion that both fans and the locker room can be proud of. He said that in the last few years, this title doesn’t get defended often, the last time was five months ago, and so he vows to be a defending champion and he’ll do it every week if necessary. His journey is to bring stability and credibility to the title.

Eric Young came out. Eddie didn’t let EY talk, he said he wasn’t happy with what he did to Rich Swann on Slammiversary. EY deserves an ass kicking, and Eddie is happy to oblige.

EY said that Impact belongs to him and that Eddie should be happy that he took out Rich and not him. EY said that he doesn’t care about Eddie’s journey and that the only thing he wants is the title.

Eddie threw himself on EY with a dive and started punching them. They got into a small pull apart.

Gia Miller interviewed Moose, asking him if he’d defend the title like Eddie had just promised. Moose told her that was a dumb question, because he carries the most prestigious title and people don’t just deserve title shots. Moose said he’d invite Fallah Bahh to a match.

Backstage, Gia Miller approached Eddie about who he’d wrestle first. Trey Miguel approached him and asked for a match next week. Eddie accepted.

Self-Proclaimed TNA World Champion Moose defeated Fallah Bahh (with TJP) to retain the title

Collar and elbow to start the match, Moose couldn’t move Bahh. He tried to attack Bahh in the corner, but Bahh kept dodging and chopping Moose. Bahh blocked a chokeslam attempt, but ended up catching a big boot to the face.

Moose chopped and punched Bahh, took him down with a shoulder block. He dropped an elbow, raked Bahh’s face, and choked him on the ropes. As usual, Moose got cocky and started talking trash, allowing Bahh to recover and build some momentum for a couple of running clotheslines and hip attacks to the corner. Moose hit the lights out and won. This was virtually a squash.

After the match, ECIII snuck up behind Moose, took him down, and walked away. Matthews said that ECIII doesn’t work here.

Good Brothers were walking down the street when Ace and Fulton drove up and distracted them, allowing Reno Scum to attack them from behind. GB took care of Reno Scum, prompting Ace and Fulton to drive away.

John E. Bravo had Rosemary in his house. They were talking to each other in code about pinches of rosemary and extra extra virgin olive oil. Taya was in the house too, so since they weren’t alone anymore. Rosemary started summoning half of the Impact roster to the house. Apparently, we have a reality show called ‘Wrestle House’ now, starting next week.

Announced for next week, Reno Scum vs The Good Brothers and Eddie Edwards vs Trey Miguel for the Impact World title.

The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) defeated Impact World Tag Team Champions The North (Josh Alexander & Ethan Page) to win the titles

Shelley and Page started the match, they chain wrestled for a bit for wrist and head control, then did a short sequence of counters and reversals ending up in a standoff. Alexander and Sabin tagged in and went for the same plan, ending with some lucha armdrags by Sabin on Alexander.

Shelley tagged in, but Alexander managed to throw him into Sabin and cut Shelley away from his corner. Shelley recovered. Page left the ring to dodge a superkick, but Sabin was there for the kick from the apron. MCMG hit a double kick on Alexander, then a double kick on Page.

Back from commercial, MCMG were still in control, getting a two count on Page with a top rope crossbody from Shelley. Josh Alexander distracted Shelley, allowing Page to cheap shot Shelley to cut him off, setting him up for the car crash crossbody.

The North started working over Alex Shelley in their corner. Alexander took him down with a backbreaker for a two count after Shelley tried to get an armbar in. The North hit a double backbreaker combo for another two count when Sabin broke the pin. Page hit a delayed handoff suplex right before Alexander tried to follow with a top rope moonsault, but Shelley managed to move away, tagging in Sabin.

Sabin took out Josh on the apron. He hit a rana on Page, then followed with a missile dropkick and a tornado DDT on Page for a two count. MCMG hit a double kick on Page in the corner. Sabin tagged out and hit a dive on Alexander. Shelley hit the shiranui on Page for a two count. Kick combo by Shelley and Sabin on Page, followed by a swinging neckbreaker and crossface. Sabin locked in a cloverleaf on Alexander, but when Page reversed the crossface to a pin, Sabin let go to break the pin attempt.

Alexander and Sabin traded strikes in the middle of the ring. Along with Page, he hit the murder-go-round, then followed with the cutter-wheelbarrow suplex combo for a two count when Shelley broke the pin. The North attacked Sabin, went for the northern assault, but Sabin used the moment to roll Page down while Shelley kept Josh locked and pinned Page to win the Impact tag team championships.  Really good main event, hate to see The North lose the titles, but after breaking the record, there’s no sense to extend it for too long. This also freshens up the division a bit.

After the show ended, we saw Heath sneak into the arena.

Final thoughts —

Good show for a fallout episode after a pay-per-view. While we still have many questions about guys like ECIII or Heath, you can feel that a new era is starting. Wrestling wise, we got a great main event.

Impact Slammiversary live results: A new World Champion crowned

Preview by Josh Nason

For the first time since January’s Hard to Kill, Impact Wrestling returns to pay-per-view Saturday with Slammiversary, one of its biggest events of the year, live from Nashville, Tennessee.

A lot has changed since that January event: a pandemic, canceled shows, firings due to the #SpeakingOut movement, and a need to crown a new World Champion as the company parted ways with Tessa Blanchard in late-June. Blanchard defeated Sami Callihan for the belt in January, but neither of them will be involved in tonight’s main event.

That main event will feature some intrigue as Trey Miguel, Ace Austin, Eddie Edwards, and a mystery fourth entrant will compete in a fatal four-way for the title. Lots of names have been rumored for that fourth spot, teased by the company itself in preview videos.

Meanwhile, two wrestlers recently released by WWE in Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson officially announced they have signed with Impact and will debut on tonight’s show.

In other matches: Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace will defend against Deonna Purrazzo, X-Division Champion Willie Mack will defend against Chris Bey, The North will defend their tag titles against Callihan and Ken Shamrock, self-proclaimed TNA Champion Moose will defend against Tommy Dreamer, there will be a number one contender’s Knockouts gauntlet match, and The Rascalz have issued an open challenge.

Our coverage begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

**********

Show opened with an extended version of the tease commercial we’ve seen for months now, but now it ran down the card throughout the news cast. Two kids talked about being scared.

Josh Matthews and Don Callis on commentary, they announced that The Good Brothers have signed with Impact.

The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) defeated The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz)

The MCMG have made their return to accept The Rascalz’ challenge.

Wentz and Shelley started the match, they went straight for the collar and elbow, a couple of reversals and coutners for wrist control. Xavier and Sabin tagged in for another exchange of reversals and coutners, transitioned into a Sabin armdrag and clothesline for some momentum, but afterwards, Xavier would send Sabin outside with a rana, leaving Shelley aloneffor some double team moves. Sabin came back only to take a kick combo for a two count.

Ranscalz cut the ring in half on Sabin and worked over him with quick tags and sentons. Wentz would eventually get distracted by a kick from Shelley, allowing Sabin to recover and join Shelley for a series of punt kicks on the apron on both Rascalz.

Back in the ring, Xavier is down to tag out Wentz, so Wentz tried to strike out Shelley, who managed to take down Wentz regardless. Double elbow and kick by the MCMG for a two coutn on Wentz. MCMG gets Wentz at bay, also quick quick combos, sending him from corner to corner, kicking him for two counts.

Wetnz tried to comeback with strikes, but ended up getting another double discus elbows for his efforts. Wentz did however, managed to tag Shelley with a jumping knee and get the opening for Xavier to come in.

Dezmond hit several kick combos on Sabin, kept Shelley on the floor, Wentz came back and hit a footstomp on Shelley for a two count. Codebreaker on Sabin to get him out of the ring. Swanton bomb by Wentz on Shelley, but he got th eknees up, hit a desperation release German on Dezmond and tagged in Sabin.

Dropkick by Sabin on Xavier, another tandom strike combo, took out Wentz with the headlock and dropkick combo, and then hit the ASCS rush on Xavier for the win. Awesome opener.

Callis and Matthews ran down tonight’s card and hinted at least two more surprises.

Backstage, Taya berated John E. Bravo that she needed to win. Rosemary came in later and told Bravo that she had to win.

We got the Moose vs Dreamer build up video. Ok stuff.

TNA World Champion Moose defeated Tommy Dreamer in an “old school rules” match to retain

Moose started with control, pushing Dreamer to the corner by the neck, striking him, tossing him, big punt kick, and out of the ring. Dominant start, but Moose went for a dive, only to get a garbage can lid on the face. Dreamer started using some of the weapons on Moose, choked him with a jersey, whipped him to the guardrail, but when he went for the chair shot, Moose dodged, dropped him groin first into the rail, chairshot to the back, and dropped the rail on Dreamer.Moose hit a suplex on the stage.

Back in the ring, Moose used a kendo stick on Dreamer, but missed the last one, giving Dreamer the opening to hit a side leg sweep. Dreamer went for a second rope shot, but Moose caught him with a huge dropkick, completely taking out Dreamer. Dreamer set up a garbage can on Dreamer and followed with another dropkick. Moose, getting cocky, get for a top rope plancha, but Dreamer caught him with a ddt right on top of the garbage can for a two count.

Moose dropped Dreamer with a toe drop hold onto a chair. Moose went to powerbomb Dreamer into a pile of chairs, but Dreamer blocked and fought back with punches, went for a ddt, but Moose coutnered and hit a book end and standing moonsault for a two count.

Moose went for the top rope for another moonsault, but Dreamer moved, hit a ddt for a two count. Dreamer pulled out some tacks and ent for a piledriver, but Moose blocked and hit a low blow on Dreamer. Moose shoved Dreamer’s face into the tacks, but didn’t fully make contact as Dreamer powered up. Moose raked the eyes and slammed Dreamer into thet tacks.

Moose hit the lights out spear and Moose picked up the win. Really slow, but Moose was great.

Impact Wrestling to crown new World Champion at Slammiversary

Impact confirmed on tonight’s episode of Impact Wrestling that the main event of Slammiversary will be a fatal four-way for the Impact championship.

Announcer Josh Mathews confirmed that Trey Miguel, Ace Austin, and Eddie Edwards will compete in a fatal four-way match for the vacant Impact championship. The fourth person in the match is being billed as a yet to be named mystery opponent.

The match originally was a five-way bout. Michael Elgin and Eddie Edwards were originally set to challenge champion Tessa Blanchard at Rebellion, but the match was unable to happen due to travel restrictions relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. Trey Miguel later advanced to the finals of a number one contender’s tournament but was attacked before he could compete. That tournament was then won by Ace Austin.

Both Tessa Blanchard and Michael Elgin are no longer with Impact Wrestling. Blanchard was stripped of the Impact championship and was fired last week, while Impact announced that Elgin would no longer appear on Impact programming.

Impact Wrestling results: Edwards vs. Fulton, Deonna Purrazzo debut

Impact Wrestling continued their build toward July’s Slammiversary pay-per-view with another show from Nashville, TN.

The opening video focused on Trey Miguel being taken out once again and the investigation that led to a street fight between Eddie Edwards and Ace Austin where Madman Fulton and Austin’s teamup was revealed. We also saw Deonna Purrazzo’s attack on Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace.

Tasha Steelz (w/Kiera Hogan) defeated Nevaeh (w/Havok)

Steelz, as usual, started her match with some trash talk until Nevaeh had enough and started throwing chops and sliding lariats, forcing Steelz to leave the ring.

Once back in the ring, Steelz caught Nevaeh with a jumping knee followed by more trash talk, but fully in control, Steelz made sure to not let Nevaeh up, keeping her down with kicks and strikes, and the occasional snapmare when she did get up. Steelz got a couple of near falls with headbutts or straight punches, but it wasn’t enough.

Steelz hit a couple of running attacks and a neckbreaker for yet another two count, but when she went to follow up with a third running attack, Nevaeh dodged and hit a knee strike, clothesline, low dropkick, and a German for a two count. Nevaeh went for her finisher, but Hogan distracted Nevaeh and Havok, allowing Steelz to sneak up behind Nevaeh and roll her up for the win.

Deonna Purrazzo defeated Alisha Edwards

This was a successful in-ring debut for “The Virtuosa” and a complete squash. Purrazzo started the match showing off her technical prowess, quickly escaping a wristlock and locking in a koji clutch before Alisha made the ropes. She kept working on her left arm and kept her down with a short arm clothesline. Alisha had a short hope spot, but Purrazzo came back with a running kneelift and the armbar for the submission win.

After the match, Grace rushed the ring and wanted to fight, but Purrazzo left, saying that it would be when she decided.

**********

– Again, Swinger tried to find a partner, asking Suicide to unmask and join them. Suicide ghosted him and disappeared. Swinger’s next option was offering a lot of money to Hernandez, but Swinger had to beat him in an arm wrestling match first. Swinger lost, so Hernandez passed. Swinger is really fantastic.

– Walking to the back, Swinger tried to get Taya Valkyrie to join them, but she told him off and berated his attire. She was looking for John E. Bravo to which Swinger said, “Say hi to Dino for me.”

Ken Shamrock vs. Josh Alexander

Shamrock came down for his match when The North jumped him during his entrance. Even with Shamrock trying to make a stand, the numbers game was too much as Alexander locked in the ankle lock as Page stomped him. I really wanted to see that match, too.

Taya Valkyrie (with John E. Bravo) defeated Susie

Susie tried introducing herself to Valkyrie, but was met a shove and trash talk. Valkyrie dropped Susie with a takedown, but was suddenly surprised with an armdrag and a schoolgirl for an early pin attempt.

Valkyrie and Bravo took turns choking Susie and distracting the referee. She continued with stomps and kicks to the back, trash talking the entire time. She locked in an STF, but Susie made the ropes.

Valkyrie went for the running elbow, but Susie blocked with kicks on all three attempts and hit Su Yung’s arachnarana for a two count.

Susie tried to strike down Valkyrie, but was brought down with a clothesline that got two. Valkyrie kicked around Susie some more, but once again, she failed to land the running knee attack. Susie hit the Thesz Press and a roll up for two. Valkyrie hit a Super Dragon-style curb stomp, but Susie kicked out at two. Valkyrie started blaming the referee and Bravo for not getting the pin.

Valkyrie went for Road to Valhalla, but Susie rolled over for the pin attempt. Valkyrie kicked out, hit a knee, and then successfully hit Road to Valhalla for the win. After the match, she bullied Susie more until Kylie Rae came down for the save. Rae superkicked Taya, but Bravo pulled her to safety.

– Jimmy Jacobs tried to interview Madman Fulton about his alliance with Ace Austin, but Austin was there and said that he did the talking in the team. He said Fulton has almost the most potential in the roster and he will bring it out as Fulton helps him become the youngest Impact World Champion.

– Swinger and Bey met backstage. Swinger introduced Rohit Raju as his partner, but Bey wasn’t having it. Raju said that he didn’t want to be there either, but he bought a used car from Swinger and this was part of the deal.

Chris Bey, Rohit Raju & Johnny Swinger def. Willie Mack & The Deaners (Cody Deaner & Cousin Jake)

Rohit and Cody started with a lock-up and some comedy with Raju pulling on Cody’s beard. Jake and Mack came in and all three hit moves on Raju, ending with Mack’s moonsault for an early pin attempt.

Mack tagged in and Bey tagged in Swinger who took punches and dropkicks by everyone on the babyface team. All six men came in, but it was the Deaners and Mack who cleared the ring.

Back from commercial, Cody Deaner was cut off from his team as Raju was working on him in his corner. Bey sat Deaner on the ropes, hit a step-up enzuigiri, and then a spinning kick for another two count. Swinger came in and mostly did old school dirty tricks. Later, Bey locked in an abdominal stretch, but Cody finally managed to escape and tag out.

Cousin Jake came in and ran wild with lariats and corner spears on everyone until he had Bey down, tagging in Mack, but Mack was taken out by Raju. Jake instead took out Bey with a huge powerbomb, Swinger took out Jake with a swinging neckbreaker, Deaner hit the Give’er on Swinger, Raju hit a jumping knee on Deaner, Mack hit a pop-up forearm on Raju and finally, Bey ensnared Mack with a roll up, but Mack kicked out.

Mack went to hit the stunner on Bey, but Raju saved him. Bey’s reaction was to toss Raju into Mack to get stunned and then use the distraction to hit the Fame-asser on Mack to pick up the win for his team.

**********

– Backstage, Reno Scum bullied D’Lo Brown who was working on some marketing. Fallah Bahh and TJP then confronted them about being accused of attacking Trey Miguel. Bahh and TJP challenged them to a match which Reno Scum accepted.

– Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne announced that Jordynne Grace vs. Deonna Purrazzo is official for Slammiversary XVIII.

Madman Fulton (w/Ace Austin) defeated Eddie Edwards

Fulton has a new theme song and it is pretty good. He has also slimmed down a lot since the last set of tapings.

The match started with Fulton throwing around Edwards until he got a hold of Fulton’s hair. Yet, it wasn’t enough to stop Fulton who kept ramming Edwards into each of the turnbuckles. Edwards eventually landed an atomic drop and hoped to follow with a suplex, but Fulton blocked and hit one of his own.

Edwards managed to catch Fulton with a kick and send him outside, but when he tried to go for the dive, Fulton was standing there ready for him so Edwards decided not to.

Back in the ring, Fulton regained control, continuing to toss him around, even tossing him outside the ring with one hand. Fulton followed and threw him into the apron and a slingshot into the ropes.

Fulton smashed Edwards’ head into the turnbuckle over and over again until Edwards couldn’t stand on his own strength. Fulton went for a suplex, but Edwards blocked mid-air and used the momentum to hit one of his own. However, Fulton was back at his feet immediately.

Edwards tried to chop down Fulton and send him to the floor, this time managing to land a suicide dive on Fulton to bring him down. Still, Fulton got right up. Edwards went back to chops, but Fulton took him by the neck and started choking him, forcing Edwards to have to punch Fulton’s arm away and hit a desperation blue thunder  bomb for a two count.

Edwards went for the tiger driver, but Fulton reversed for an overhead suplex. Fulton hit a big tilt-a-whirl sidewalk slam for a two count. Edwards caught Fulton going to the top rope with a enzuigiri and a frankensteiner. Austin stepped up on the apron, but was Edwards knocked him off. Edwards escaped a german, hit a forearm, a jumping kick, and landed the tiger driver, but Fulton still kicked out.

Edwards set up for the Boston Knee Party, but Fulton caught him, hit the End of Days, and took the win. The match was pretty good. If they’re trying to rebuild Fulton as a monster, this was a successful step.

After the match, we saw D’Lo Brown talking to someone on the computer about getting the band back together. We then saw the Aces & Eights vest on his chair. Oh, no.

Final Thoughts:

This was a good show that went by pretty quick with a lot of female action. For a show that was edited at last minute due to the Joey Ryan situation, it came out flawless and nothing seemed off.

Next week:

– TNA Champion Moose vs. Crazzy Steve

– Bahh and TJP vs Reno Scum

– Kiera Hogan vs Havok

Impact Wrestling results: Eddie Edwards vs. Ace Austin street fight

Impact Wrestling returns from Nashville, TN for tonight’s episode as the build towards Slammiversary XVIII continues.

Opening video made a big emphasis on Deonna Purrazzo’s debut from last week, attacking the Knockout’s Champion Jordynne Grace after she had defended the title against Taya Valkyrie.

Right before their match, Xavier and Wentz were ready in the Gorilla position when Trey Miguel approached them. Wentz was suspiciously jumpy.

Impact Tag Team Champions The North (Ethan Page & Josh Alexander) defeated The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz) to retain the titles.

Wentz started the match dropkicking Page out of the ring, taking it to Alexander along with Xavier with a kick combo for an early two count. Xavier separated Josh to his corner for a senton atomico by Wentz. Josh and Wentz exchanged some strikes before tagging in Page.

Page successfully cut off Wentz as The North started to work on him with quick tags and mostly strikes. Josh got a two count with a knee drop.

Wentz made a great comeback with strikes and a jumping knee that allowed him to tag out. Xavier ran wild over Josh, using his speed to land several strikes, but Alexander managed to catch him midair and drop him to tag in Page.

The North separated Xavier and worked over him in their corner. The North hit Dezmond with a delayed vertical suplex that they passed around, but only for a two count when Wentz broke the pin.

Back from commercial, Dezmond is starting to make a comeback, escaping Page’s powerbomb attempt. He tags in Wentz, who ran wild over both men. Wentz went for a springboard plancha on Josh, but was caught, only for Dezmond to hit a moonsault and drop Alexander. Page got rid of Dezmond, while Wentz dropped him with a kick and standing moonsault for a two count.

Dezmond tagged in and hit a superkick and meteora combo with Wentz for a two count. Xavier went for another meteora, but Page dodged, hitting a couple of superkicks. Dezmond hit one for himself and took each other out. Wentz and Josh tagged in, with the former hitting a destroyer after a Pele kick by Dezmond, earning a two count when Page broke up the pin attempt.

Dez went for a suicide dive on Page, but Page caught him and tossed him over the rail. Wentz took out Page, but back in the ring, Alexander dropped him groin first into the ropes, tagged in Page, then followed with a torture rack into a spinebuster to retain the titles. Great opener.

Backstage, The North celebrated their win, but Page got angry that nobody was watching their match. Page said that no one would ever take the titles from them, they had no competition, and no one appreciated their greatness.

Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne ran down tonight’s card, pushing Moose’s defense of the TNA title and the street fight main event. He was interrupted and we went to the back where Trey Miguel had been attacked again while The Rascalz were in a match. Dezmond and Wentz went after Reno Scum.

Jimmy Jacobs approached Ace Austin for a comment about Trey’s attack. Ace said he didn’t know anything about it, saying that everyone keeps blaming him while there are a ton of crazy people on Impact. Eddie Edwards blamed him for Trey’s attack and told him that they would meet tonight.

Neveah (with Havok) defeated Kimber Lee

Neveah is making her in-ring debut tonight.

They started the match going straight for the forearm exchange until Neveah swept Lee’s leg, only for her to land a split, eating a dropkick instead. At this point, Tasha Steelz and Kiera Hogan came out to talk trash.

Kimber Lee took advantage of the distraction to attack Neveah, taking her down by kicking her leg and landed a low kick for a one count. Lee locked in a deep knee submission, mocking Havok.

Neveah recovered and chopped Lee, but got her eyes raked and choked against the ropes. Suplex for a two count.

Neveah finally made a comeback with some lariats, a bad looking STO, and a better looking German for a two count. Lee hit a kick combo ending with an enzuigiri for a two count. Neveah finished it with a great twisting DDT for the win. Not a good match, Neveah seemed kinda off.

After the match, Havok almost came to blows with Hogan and Steelz, but Neveah stopped her.

Backstage, Reno Scum and some staff are watching some matches when The North approached them asking if they were watching their match. They were watching Ken Shamrock, so Page got mad and broke the iPad they were using.

We got a video package for #CancelCulture, with Joseph P. Ryan talking about how Jacob Crist beat Crazzy Steve. He said that next week, he gets cancelled for good.

We then got a video of Crazzy Steve talking to himself about people telling him to not do things. He called himself a “Homicidal Artist”.  He implied that he had some allies to face off with Cancel Culture.

Rhino defeated Rohit Raju

Rohit Raju jumped Rhino while he was doing his entrance. Rohit went for an early pin, but the referee said that the match hadn’t even started. Match started and Rohit went after Rhino with kicks and punches in the corner.

Rohit tossed Rhino to the floor, where he kept the momentum going, ramming Rhino to the apron over and over again into the ringpost.

Back in the ring, Rohit got a two count. He followed with more kicks and punches. Rhino tried to come back, but Rohit was fast enough to cut him off, dropping him with an elbow for another two count.

Rhino finally recovered with a suplex, a couple of clotheslines and back elbows, but when he went for a Gore in the corner, Rohit dodged and hit a running cannonball. Rohit went for a foot stomp, but Rhino dodged, hit the Gore, and won. Rohit looked great, but they still had him lose.

After the match, Rohit seemed to be having a breakdown.

Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the week was ECIII defeating Kurt Angle to win the TNA World Championship in 2015.

Backstage, Elgin was on the phone when Jimmy Jacobs approached to ask about Trey Miguel. Elgin told him that he doesn’t jump people from behind, he would rather drag a cameraman for everyone to see.

Susie and Kylie Rae met in the locker room. Susie said that she liked being good, but that everyone bullied her, so maybe she should be bad. Rae tried to tell her that she liked her.

Taya interrupted them and told them that they were losers and bad people have more fun. They brought up that Taya lost last week before Taya walked away, looking for Bravo.

Self-Proclaimed TNA World Champion Moose defeated Hernandez to retain his title.

Moose tried to jump Hernandez to start, but was caught with a dropkick and clothesline to the floor. Moose and Hernandez brawled, ramming each other into the rails and ringposts.

Back in the ring, Moose pulled Hernandez face-first into the turnbuckle and followed with stomps and clubs to the back. Moose whipped Hernandez from corner to corner, with uppercuts in between. At the third attempt, Hernandez tried to block, but Moose got him with an Okada-like dropkick off the turnbuckle, sending Hernandez to the floor.

Moose raked Hernandez’ eyes, stomped on him and played to the camera, but eventually Hernandez had enough and chokeslamed Moose. Hernandez hit a senton and a backbreaker for a two count.

Hernandez went for a suplex, but Moose escaped and hit a low blow. He hit the Lights Out, the new name for the No Jackhammer Needed for the win.

Instead of Moose’s music, the theme for Ethan Carter III was played. Ethan was not there, however. Big teases!

The Rascalz approached Reno Scum about Trey’s attack. Reno Scum said that they haven’t talked to Ace Austin in a while and that he owes them some money. Reno Scum passed the blame to TJP and Fallah Bahh.

We got a skit with The Deaners saying how much they missed one another Willie Mack was there just making faces. Cousin Jake challenged Chris Bey and Johnny Swinger to a six-man match. They made jokes about Johnny Swinger and Chris Bey. This was weird, but it had some funny bits. Mack is a terrible actor, however.

Reno Scum (Luster The Legend & Adam Thornstowe) defeated XXXL (Acey Romero & Larry D)

Acey and Thornstowe started the match, with the former dominating easily with his power. Along with Larry D, they took down Luster, but Adam was quick enough to take out Acey and hit a bulldog onto Luster’s knee on D.

Reno Scum went to work on Larry D with some double team moves, mostly clubbing him. Thornstowe got a two count with a standing moonsault. Thornstowe went for a crossbody, and Larry caught him midair and dropped him in desperation.

Acey and Luster tagged in, with Acey hitting clothesline after clothesline on Luster, followed by a sidewalk slam for a two count.

Thownstowe tried to fight off both D and Acey, but got crushed between them instead. Larry D took down Luster with a clothesline, but ate a step-up kick by Adam, setting up the top rope curb stomp double team for the win.

Backstage, Bey talked to Swinger about the challenge of the Deaners and Mack. Swinger said he had the perfect teammate to join them. He called someone who was in a 90 day no compete clause, so instead he told Bey he would call someone else.

We got a great profile piece on Deonna Purrazzo. She talked about starting her wrestling career, being invited by Impact a while back to wrestle Brooke Tessmacher as enhancement. After that, she traveled the world, wrestling in Japan and Europe to learn more and more. She now was back, knowing that she was the best female technical wrestler in the world and wanted to prove it.

She said that the attack on Jordynne Grace was simply because she is the champion, and she is here to reach the top and nothing else. She will be the next Knockout’s champion.

Miller interviewed Grace about the piece. Jordynne said that Purrazzo came to the right place if she wanted competition, but if she wanted a shot, she just had to ask. Purrazzo then jumped Jordynne Grace, locked in the armbar and injured Grace.

Ace Austin defeated Eddie Edwards in a street fight

Eddie jumped Ace Austin during the entrance and started brawling. Eddie started going strong with the knife-edge chops early on before going to fetch some weapons. Eddie went for a garbage can that Ace tried to avoid, but in the end, Eddie caught him by tossing the garbage can at him.

Eddie dropped Ace groin first on the guardrail then chopped him, but Ace had his gambit stick ready to retaliate.

Back in the ring, Ace regained control with the trash can, setting it on Eddie’s head and kicking him over and over, earning a two count. Ace raked Eddie’s face, hit a knee to the back, hit him with a metal sign, and connected several chops and kicks, but Eddie only hit one chop to set Ace back down.

Eddie sent Ace to the floor again, but when he went for the dive, Ace caught him with a trash can lid to the head.

Ace set up a piece of guardrail as a ladder between the apron and the ramp, but was countered and was tossed spine first into the guardrail.

Back in the ring, Eddie hit Ace with a traffic sign, then a blue thunder bomb for a two count. Eddie went for a chair shot, but Ace dodged and hit his version of the Van Daminator for another two count.

Ace brought out a table and set up Eddie on it, hitting him with the traffic sign over and over. Ace got to the top rope, but Eddie blocked him and went for a super backplex. Ace, in desperation, gave him a papercut under the eye to cut him off. He followed with a crossbody for a two count.

Eddie caught Ace with another cooking sheet and a tiger bomb for a two count.

Eddie brought out his kendo stick, but got dropped with a drop-toe-hold onto an open chair mouth first. Ace tried to use the kendo stick, but Eddie dodged, took the stick and hit Ace. He then hit one of the most disgusting neckbreakers I’ve seen, by turning the table legs up and hitting a neckbreaker over the legs of the tables.

Eddie prepared for the BKP, but suddenly Madman Fulton rose like Godzilla behind Eddie. Fulton chokeslammed him over and over again, then fed him to Ace for The Fold, giving Austin the win. Ace and Fulton seemed to be a new unit. Good match, but that neckbreaker spot was seriously scary.

We got a new Slammiversary teaser. The reporter said that at least one former World champion would make an appearance, showing various names from the past.

Final Thoughts:

Good show by Impact, went by fast. Strong in-ring action top to bottom, with only one match being poor. Storyline wise, you can now start to see all the pieces coming together towards Slammiversary.

Next week has Susie vs. Taya, Mack and The Deaners vs. Bey, Swinger, and a mystery partner, and Cancel Culture vs. Crazzy Steve and two mystery partners.

Impact announces five-way World title match for Slammiversary

Tessa Blanchard will defend her Impact World Championship against four challengers at next month’s Slammiversary pay-per-view.

After announcing that the future of their World Championship would be addressed on the episode, it was revealed on tonight’s Impact that Blanchard will defend her title against Michael Elgin, Eddie Edwards, Ace Austin, and Trey Miguel in a five-way match at Slammiversary. The PPV is taking place on Saturday, July 18.

Scott D’Amore made an appearance on tonight’s Impact to announce the title match for Slammiversary. The segment ended with Austin, Elgin, Edwards, and Miguel brawling.

Elgin and Edwards were supposed to challenge for Blanchard’s title in a triple threat match at Rebellion in April, but that match didn’t happen because Blanchard and Edwards weren’t able to attend the tapings for the show due to the coronavirus pandemic. Blanchard also missed the most recent set of Impact tapings.

On last week’s Impact, Austin defeated Zachary Wentz in the finals of a tournament to become the number one contender to Blanchard’s title. The tournament final was supposed to be Austin vs. Miguel, but there was an angle where Miguel was attacked backstage. Miguel’s attacker has yet to be revealed.

Slammiversary 2020 was announced via a video that aired at the end of last week’s Impact. It teased that wrestlers recently released by WWE will be involved with the show.

Impact Rebellion night two results: World title situation decided

Impact Wrestling returns tonight for part two of Rebellion.

Last week we saw Willie Mack defeat Ace Austin to capture the X-Division Championship, Ken Shamrock submit Sami Callihan in an unsanctioned match, and Michael Elgin make a promise for tonight: he would leave as the World Champion no matter what.

Read the full recap of Rebellion Night One here.

Cold open was a video package talking about reinventing oneself. It recapped the happenings of night one, and made special focus towards Michael Elgin’s threat.

Chris Bey defeated Suicide, Trey Miguel, and Rohit Raju

Match started with all four men in the ring. We got an early standing switch with all of them until the babyfaces tricked the heels to just work on each other while they casually watched. Bey and Rohit took out Miguel and ganged up on Suicide, showing off and one-upping each other on who could hurt Suicide more.

They discussed this enough to where they gave Suicide time to make comeback. He locked in an Octopus stretch on Bey while Miguel took out Rohit. Suicide locked both Trey and Bey on a double submission, but it allowed Raju to take him out.

Bey, Raju, and Trey Miguel all exchanged strikes, leading Rohit to kicking both men to adjacent corners and hitting running elbows, sweeping Bey, hitting a Footstomp on Miguel for a two count.

Suicide came back, hit a Springboard Armdrag on Raju, Rana on Bey, went for the Clothesline on Trey, but Miguel was ready, dodged with the Matrix, hit a kick combo.

Chris Bey and Miguel went at it, with the latter getting a two count on Miguel. He then sent him out to the floor with a rana. Rohit got a school boy on Bey for a two count, but couldn’t follow up and got sent outside with a dropkick.

Suicide faked Bey into hitting a dive on Rohit, and followed with a senton from the apron. Trey Miguel followed with a second rope flip over the ropes to take everyone out.

Back in the ring, Trey got a two count on Rohit, hit the moonsault into a foot stomp on Bey for a two count, and finally went for a tornado DDT on Suicide. He was blocked and instead, Suicide got him up for the suplex and was met by a top rope plancha by Chris Bey. Rohit Raju broke Suicide’s pin over Trey.

Bey took out Rohit with a huge kick and got a two count with a double underhook slam. Rohit connected with a jumping uppercut on Suicide, but was caught by a Pele Kick from Trey. Suicide with the double palm strike, and Rohit with a jumping knee on Suicide. Rohit hit a swinging neckbreaker on Trey. X-Factor for a two count when Bey broke it up.

Suicide took out Bey and went for the superplex on Trey. He was ready, however, and escaped, hit Cheeky Nandos, tossed Rohit into Suicide, and executed a double Trey19.

Trey hit Meteora on Suicide, but Rohit tried to steal it, only for Chris Bey to return, kick Rohit, and steal the pin himself over Rohit.

Really good match, but it suffered from the empty arena, this is the type of match that excels when the crowd goes crazy for it. Chris Bey seems to be building to challenge Willie Mack.

Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne walked us through the recap of last week’s Rebellion, and ran down tonight’s card.

Josh Matthews Facetimed Tessa Blanchard. He asked about not being able to compete. Tessa said that she was torn that she couldn’t be there, but that she was training everyday to come back stronger. Josh asked about Elgin’s threat, to which Tessa said that she’d love to shut him up, so unless he comes to Mexico, she won’t be walking out of Champion.

We got a video package for #CancelCulture vs The Deaners.

Joseph P. Ryan defeated Cousin Jake

Ryan started the match berating Jake, but also running away from him when Jake tried to get his hands on him. Jake overpowered Ryan with the lockup, forcing Ryan to once again run to the ropes.

Jake kept that upper hand, taking out Ryan with a body block and a straight right elbow. Jake tossed Ryan around the ring, whipped him from corner to corner, getting a two count here and there.

Ryan managed to cheap shot Jake and dodged his shoulder tackle, sending Jake shoulder first into the ring post.

Back from commercial, Ryan had been working over Jake’s injured shoulder. Ryan went for a shoulder focused body slam. Jake blocked so instead Ryan sent him shoulder first into the turnbuckle. He managed the body slam on the second attempt, then transitioned into a submission.

Jake would try to mount a comeback, but time and time again, Ryan would use heel tactics to cut him off. Eventually, Jake landed a desperation suplex and a running tackle. He dodged Ryan’s lariat attempt, hit a backplex and finally got Ryan down.

Jake came back with some elbows and a discus clothesline for a two count. Jake clotheslined Ryan to the floor and followed with a plancha. That was followed by a second running plancha on Ryan, who was trying to make it back in the ring.

Cousin Jake hit a deadlift sitdown powerbomb for a two count. Ryan retaliated by snapping Jake’s shoulder on the ropes and hitting Sweet Tooth Music for a two count.

Ryan went for a second superkick, but Jake blocked. Ryan rolled up Cousin Jake with a hand on the ropes to win the match.

Pretty good match, especially for Cousin Jake.

Rosemary was at a bar talking about having to be in the Full Metal Mayhem match instead of Taya. She was facetiming Taya, who said that she was going crazy and had started wearing sweatpants. Taya started ranting until Rosemary stopped her.

Rosemary told her that Grace was replaced by Havok, so Taya could fight her, but Taya refused. Taya told Rosemary that they should go to Las Vegas once she’s done with Havok. Bar Rosemary is the most interesting she’s been for a while.

We got a video package with both Rosemary and Havok, recapping their history together, trying to make sense of this match that improvised. They said that even if Havok helped them get out of the Undead Wastelands, their story was to continue with violence, not peace.

Rosemary defeated Havok in a Full Metal Mayhem match.

Both women had new looks for this fight. Rosemary cut a promo early before the match, telling Havok that they didn’t need to do this, she could chase after Su Yung, and she could go chase after Jordynne Grace. Havok rejected the idea.

Match started and the first move was Rosemary stapling Havok’s hand and stomach, at least until Havok blocked her and took her down with a clothesline. Havok grabbed the stapler, and as much as Rosemary pleaded for forgiveness, Havok stapled her over and over again.

Rosemary hit a slingblade and followed up with punches. She brought out some transit signs and started striking at Havok, but once again, Havok had the power advantage and took Rosemary down with a big boot.

Havok went for a running tackle to the corner, but Rosemary dodged and Havok crashed into the chair in the buckles.

Rosemary tied a chain around Havok’s neck and made a pulley to choke down Havok. Rosemary started cutting a promo during this, asking Havok what it felt like to kill James Mitchell. Havok eventually pulled the chain and took down Rosemary.

Havok brought in more weapons to the ring, including a foam pipe that bounced when she tossed it in.

Havok hit a couple of running boots to the corner, and a third one into a garbage can lid. She smashed Rosemary’s face to a chair and tried hitting her with the chain, but Rosemary escaped, and pulled Havok by the chain into a chair, and from corner to corner.

Suddenly, we saw Neveah standing close to the ramp, watching the match.  Meanwhile, Rosemary and Havok were brawling up the ramp, where Havok hit a Samoan drop on the ramp. They exchanged some more weapon strikes. At one point, Rosemary protected herself from a garbage can shot with a construction hat.

Back in the ring, Havok tossed Rosemary into another cornered chair and chokeslammed her into a bed of chairs that didn’t give, all for a two count. She tried to choke Rosemary with the chain and chair, but eventually, Rosemary grabbed the ‘lead’ pipe and took down Havok with it for the three count.

Another match that suffered from the lack of crowd, as the wrestling wasn’t particularly good, and the weapon spots are usually meant to get live pops. Josh Matthews was insufferable in this match as soon as Neveah came out.

Gia Miller interviewed Willie Mack and Rich Swann about his win last week. Mack said he always looked up to the X-Division champions of the past, and so he was really happy to now be part of that group. Swann told Mack that he had all that he needed to be the champion. Johnny Swinger interrupted them and asked for his promised title shot.

Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week was Rich Swann vs Sami Callihan from last year’s Rebellion.

Miller tried to ask Elgin again about the championship. Elgin repeated what he said last week and said that it was unfortunate Tessa and Eddie were not there so he could send them to the hospital. He said that results won’t change and he’s still walking out the champion tonight.

We got a video package for Michael Elgin, from his debut, and through his chase of the World Championship. Great stuff.

Michael Elgin came down to the ring, wearing his ring gear and mic in hand. Elgin cut a promo saying that it was Rebellion when he made his debut and promised to become the World champion. And that for the last year, his sights had not changed.

He called out Tessa and Eddie for being scared of him, and thus neither had shown up to their title match. Elgin brought out a referee and told him to declare him the winner by forfeit. Instead, he started bullying David Penzer. Before the referee could raise his hand, Moose interrupted him. He had the old TNA World Championship belt.

Moose took a mic and told Elgin that he understood the pain of working through and not having an opponent for tonight. They agreed that Tessa was holding the title hostage.

Moose said that it was wrong to say there was no World champion right now, because he now had the TNA World Championship.

Elgin cut him off and, in a babyface promo, said that for the last months, Moose had been running over the initials of TNA, but Elgin understood that while TNA was long past, those letters were now Impact.

Moose said that while Elgin was out there trading wins with Eddie, he was there defeating every competitor in front of him. Moose said that if he wanted a shot at him, he just needed to ask. Elgin was about to attack, but instead, Hernandez of all people interrupted them.

Hernandez said that Moose has never beaten him. He ended up inserting himself into the match.

Moose defeated Michael Elgin and Hernandez in a triple threat match

Match started with all men brawling outside the ring, with Elgin getting the early upper hand with a tope con giro.

Back in the ring, they took turns tossing each other around. Hernandez hit a springboard shoulder tackle on Elgin, but was cut off with chops by Moose. He hit a beautiful dropkick, but was then hit by a northern lights suplex by Elgin. Hernandez whipped Elgin around and hit an over-the-top bodyslam on Moose.

Elgin and Hernandez traded strikes in the middle of the ring, with the latter getting the better of the exchange, but was then taken down with a low dropick from Elgin, who sunk in a single leg Boston Crab. Moose tried to break it, but got hit by a dragon screw and fell into a Boston Crab as well. Hernandez took down Elgin with a bodyblock.

Hernandez went for a superplex on Elgin, but was stopped by Moose. Elgin dropped Moose and Hernandez and hit the latter with a missile dropkick for a two count.

Back from commercial, Elgin is working over Hernandez in the corner with chops and elbows. Moose came back and inserted himself into the strike exchange, but was taken out by the other two. Elgin hit a couple of running clotheslines, but took a big time boot by Moose on the third.

Moose hit an Okada dropkick on Elgin and went for the superplex on Hernandez. As he landed, Elgin connected with a twisting senton on Moose, sending all three men down.

All men exchanged strikes before Hernandez dropped them with some offense, getting a two count on Elgin with a senton as it was broken up by Moose.

Hernandez took out Moose with a clothesline as he started to look gassed out. He hit Elgin with a big boot for a two count. Hernandez teased the Border Toss, but Moose blocked him. They exchanged some more strikes. Moose caught Hernandez with two shoulder tackles and a pop-up Powerbomb, followed by a plancha for a two count.

Moose went for the No Jackhammer Needed on Elgin, but the latter dodged, hit a trio of German suplexes, and went for a powerbomb, but Hernandez stopped him with a German of his own. Hernandez went for another German on Moose, but Elgin powered up and hit a double German on both, covering Hernandez for a two count.

Elgin hit a kick combo on Moose, then went for a clothesline, but Moose blocked and they exchanged some kicks and elbows. Moose hit the Go To Hell for a near fall. Moose went for the No Jackhammer Needed on Hernandez, but was caught with a pounce for a near fall, broken up by Elgin.

Elgin dropped Hernandez with a big lariat and went for the Elgin Bomb, but was interrupted by Moose. Instead, Elgin hit a pop-up powerbomb on Moose, followed with a buckle bomb, but Moose fired up and came back with a desperation No Jackhammer Needed for a one count as Elgin was next to the ropes.

Hernandez hit a spinebuster on Moose, but Elgin pulled him to try and steal his pin, but Hernandez was able to take it back.

Elgin hit a backfist on Hernandez and landed a buckle bomb/Elgin Bomb combo for a near fall when Moose pulled the ref out. Elgin attacked Moose outside and, while rate, attacked the referee. Hernandez took out both Elgin and the new referee with a dive.

Back in the ring, Moose hit No Jackhammer Needed on Hernandez and picked up the win.

This started off as a great Impact match, but as soon as Hernandez gassed out, the match felt like it was honoring the championship on the line, becoming a slow and boring match that ended with a ton of unnecessary overbooking. Elgin was the MVP of the match, no question about it.

After the match, Moose proclaimed himself the TNA World Champion, establishing him as the interim champion until Tessa can come back.

Final Thoughts —

Bad show by Impact. The first hour was fun, but then it all went downhill. With half of the original card not taking place, the replacement matches all felt like filler, and the main event was really hurt by the addition of Hernandez.

Impact Wrestling results: Tag Team title main event

Impact Wrestling returns from the Coca-Cola Roxy in Atlanta, GA.

Opening video focused on the ongoing feud between The North and Tessa Blanchard and Eddie Edwards, a feud that took us to tonight’s main event as Eddie and Tessa teamed up to take on The North for the tag team titles.

We saw Ken Shamrock, who arrived at the arena, to address Sami Callihan’s attack two weeks ago.

Willie Mack came out to the ring and went straight for the mic. He called out Ace Austin and Reno Scum for their attack on Swan. He challenged Ace to fight right now. Mack is not the best ‘angry person’ promo.

Out came Reno Scum. Mack challenged them to a two on one.

Willie Mack defeated Reno Scum (Luster The Legend & Adam Thornstowe) in a handicap match

Mack started strong over both guys, managing to take down Thornstowe, but Luster cut him off. Mack got Luster down with a Slam, but Thornstowe was there for the tag and the double team battering ram for a two count.

Reno Scum started working over Willie’s upper body, mostly strikes and slams, with a little bit of eye gouging by Luster. Standing moonsault  by Thornstowe for another two count, and right into the sleeper Lock.

Mack finally made a small comeback, striking down Thornstowe until he got caught with a big dropkick, but was still good enough to counter Thornstowe’s senton with a double knee.

Luster tagged in, but Mack recovered, hitting the Samoan drop and moonstault combo for a two count. Thornstowe grabbed Mack’s leg and allowed for Luster to cut him off again. Thownstowe landed a double foot stomp to the back of Willie for another two count.

Mack managed to toss Luster into his corner, dropping Thorstowe off the ropes, which distracted Luster enough to get caught with the stunner and 6-Star Frog Splash for the win.

After the match, Ace Austin came out and knocked out Mack with a spinning heel kick. Reno Scum held Mack, allowing Ace to hit The Fold from the outside of the ring.

Kylie Rae arrived at the arena and was met by Gail Kim, who welcomed her. She then met up with Susie. They kinda became friends until Kiera Hogan entered the room and told Kylie that there are no friends on Impact and that Rae will be fighting Hogan at Rebellion. Hogan then challenged Susie to a match.

Chris Bey defeated Daga

Match started with Bey and Daga doing a quick sequence of pin reversals into a sequence of lucha moves that Daga won with a Headscissors, sending Bey down. Daga went for a rope Armdrag, but Bey dropped him on the ropes, laughed at Daga, and followed with a kick, sending Daga out to the floor.

Bey started working over Daga, focusing on the back with kicks and slams. Daga tried making a comeback with strikes, but Bey kept him down.

Back from commercial, Daga is still trying to make a comeback, but Bey maintains control of the match, getting a two count with a Senton. Bey locked in an abdominal stretch for the submission tease, but Daga finally fired up, tossed Bey off and dodged Bey’s kicks. Unfortunately, Bey managed to lock in a leg scissors.

Daga kept powering up, stood up with Bey on his back and rammed him into the corner to break the sleeper that Bey had locked up. Bey relocked the sleeper, forcing Daga to toss him off.

Daga made his comeback with a clothesline and dragon screws, getting a two count with a powerbomb. Bey left to the floor, but Daga followed. Bey was ready and went for a moonsault off the ramp, but Daga dodged. Daga followed up with a huge senton that made it look like Dage fell on top of his head.

Top rope plancha from Daga for a two count. Daga connected with a discus lariat, went to follow with a sunset flip, but Bey blocked, grabbed the ropes, and stole the win from Daga.

Chris Bey is amazing and oozes charisma, so I’m not sure if debuting him as a heel was the best move, but he plays it well.

Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week was Lockdown 2011’s 6-way between Amazing Red, Nick Jackson, Matt Jackson, Chris Sabin, Robbie E, and Kendrick.

Somewhere in a trailer, Taya was training for her Full Metal Mayhem match with Jordynne Grace by hitting John E. Bravo with a chair. Bravo was wearing an armor of pillows which were not working that much.

The Rascalz were in the Treehouse talking about scouting The North tonight, but they can’t because The Deaners were coming in. Deaners brought beers. TJP and Fallah Bahh also arrived and brought food. Finally, XXXL joined them and took all the food. Nothing came out of this.

Havok defeated Madison Rayne

Madison Rayne left the broadcast table to wrestle a match.

Havok started the match rushing at Rayne, but the latter managed to dodge a bit until she got in Havok’s face and told her she was the locker room leader. Havok responded by kicking her down, hitting a nice backbreaker and a lariat to rock Rayne to the corner.

Havok followed with a running boot, but when she went for the splash, Rayne dodged again. Rayne hit some strikes and enzugiris, but Havok was only moved a little bit. Havok sent Rayne to the top rope, but she punched her way off. Rayne went for a northern lights suplex, but Havok easily reversed it.

Havok whopped Rayne to the corner, followed with a choke, and once again tried to set up Rayne in the corner. Rayne hit a crossbody, but Havok caught her, hit a tombstone piledriver and got the win. Good one sided squash.

Backstage, Tessa Blanchard told Eddie that she didn’t need him and wanted answers as to why Eddie helped her last week. Eddie told her that maybe he should have left her alone to see what the numbers game was. Eddie said that he knows what not wanting help leads to and so he wants to offer his hand, but Tessa gets to choose what to do with it. Get beat up, or walk out Tag Team Champions.

Jimmy Jacobs interviewed Ken Shamrock. Jacobs asked about his condition first. Shamrock said he had some damage to his eyes, so he’s been working through that. He said that Sami has no respect for anyone trying to earn a living in the ring. He once tried to take out Eddie Edwards, and now him.

Next week, Shamrock and Callihan are having their contract signing, to which Shamrock said he will try to keep his composure.

Suddenly, their stream got hacked by Callihan. Shamrock stormed off the room saying that if Impact can’t control Sami, he would.

Rhino and Tommy Dreamer defeated oVe (Jake and Dave Crist) with Madman Fulton

Dreamer and Dave started the match, collar and elbow with the old timer getting the better of Crist, forcing him to tag in his brother. Dreamer tagged in Rhino, who kept control of the match, taking down Jake with a shoulder tackle and maintaining wrist control. Dreamer and Rhino were going for a team move when Fulton got involved and grabbed Dreamer. The referee expelled Fulton to the back.

Back in the ring, Dreamer hit the bionic elbow on Jake, followed by a crossbody, but the referee was distracted. Dave kicked Dreamer in the back to cut him off.

oVe started working over Dreamer, keeping him at bay by focusing on Dreamer’s arm, with quick tags and double team moves. Dave went for a top rope move, but Dreamer was able to get to the ropes and dropped him with a superplex, tagging in Rhino.

He came in strong, taking out Jake Crist first with clotheslines and a spear to the corner. Belly-to-belly suplex for a two count. Dave Crist went for Rhino, but Dreamer was there to attack him with a cutter. Jake Crist took out Dreamer, but distracted himself from Rhino, who hit a Gore for the win.

After the match, Madman Fulton returned and beat down Rhino and Dreamer. Fulton hit the End of Days on Dreamer.

Out at a bar, Rosemary was hitting on men when Johnny Swinger approached her. Swinger offered his soul if she had a nice car. Swinger told Rosemary to not care about the young bucks. He said that next week, he was bringing M.Jackson and is going to show her what he’s got. Rosemary rejected Swinger.

Kiera Hogan defeated Susie

Hogan started by pushing Susie around in the ring until Susie pushed back, slapped her, and took down Hogan over and over again. Susie hit a Bulldog for a two count.

Hogan, now paying attention, got the better of Susie and pushed her to the corner to kick her and choke her against the ropes. Hogan hit a series of running attacks on Susie for a two count. Hogan locked in a cravate, but Susie punched her way out only to take a dropkick for another two count.

Kiera went for the Hogan Driver, but Susie escaped, landed a palm strike combo and a Thesz press. They exchanged strikes until Susie made it to the ropes.

Hogan hit a superkick for yet another near fall. Hogan went to the top rope, but Susie caught her with a palm strike and The Spider Walk for a two count.

Susie looked around for Su Yung’s glove, but she didn’t have it. The distraction was enough for Hogan to hit the Hogan Driver and pick up the win.

The North were in the locker room getting ready when Michael Elgin approached them and said he wanted to replace one of them and get his hands on Eddie and Tessa. Josh Alexander said he couldn’t, while Page told him that this was a Tag Team title match, he couldn’t just get in there. The North were fantastic as champions here, not taking the weasel way out and standing up against Elgin.

Jimmy Jacobs interviewed Tenille Dashwood. Tenille said that next week, she fights Taya Valkyrie.

Impact Tag Team Champions The North (Josh Alexander & Ethan Page) defeated Tessa Blanchard & Eddie Edwards to retain the titles

Story of the match was that Tessa Blanchard, hot headed as she is, wouldn’t work well with Eddie, as she kept wanting to do things by herself. Meanwhile, The North are the legit best tag team in the company.

Eddie and Page started the match for their teams. Eddie got the upper hand with chain wrestling, forcing Page to tag in Alexander. Tessa tagged in, but Alexander easily got the upper hand with strength alone. Tessa used her speed to dodge Alexander, but when she went for the Tornado DDT, Alexander easily blocked her and tossed her off. Tessa failed to clothesline Josh out until the third time when Josh provoked her. Tessa went for a dive, but got distracted by Page, allowing Alexander to run around the rung and attack Tessa from behind.

Eventually, Tessa stumbled into her corner and Eddie tagged in. Eddie ran wild over both North members, chopping them down with atomic drops and landed a belly-to-belly on Page to send him out. Alexander was tossed to the outside and got hit by a dive by Eddie, but as he ran, Tessa blind tagged herself in and hit a plancha on everyone.

Back from commercial, Eddie and Tessa had some control as their team had their first hand-to-hand tag in the match, but as Eddie tried to take on Alexander, Page was there to save him from taking a frankensteiner, successfully cutting him off.

The North started working on Eddie in their corner, quick tags and teasing Tessa in between them. The North went for their finisher, but Eddie dodged and hit a desperation double rana to finally get the tag on Tessa.

Tessa came in with a crossbody, taking both North men down. Rana on Page to send him out. She slapped Alexander and hit a shiranui. Tessa followed with two dives, one for each North member. Cutter on Page for a two count. Tessa went for the Buzzsaw DDT, but Alexander cut her off. She went for a leg scissors on Alexander, but was blocked. Page hit a cutter of his own and followed with a Wheelbarrow German for a two count.

Eddie returned and saved Tessa, but Page kicked them both out. Eddie took out Page, Alexander took out Eddie, and Tessa hit a cutter on Alexander to close the circle.

Alexander hit a discus elbow on Tessa, but Eddie was there for the German. Eddie went for the BKP, but Page caught him with a big boot. Tessa sent Page outside. Eddie hit a Tiger Bomb and Tessa landed a Destroyer on Alexander for a big near fall. Tessa went for Magnum, but Alexander caught her. The North hit a combo of Forearms and kicks, then hit a team move for a two count when Eddie broke it up.

The North finally went for their finisher, but Tessa fought out. She hit a Samoan Drop on Page, but couldn’t repeat it with Alexander. She did, however, hit a tilt-a-whirl DDT but wouldn’t tag in Eddie because she wanted to do it herself. The North took her out, hit the assisted spinebuster, with Alexander pinning Tessa. Fantastic match!

After the match, Eddie checked on Tessa. Eddie offered her his hand, but Tessa pushed him off. Michael Elgin suddenly appeared and attacked Tessa from behind, but this time, Eddie wasn’t there to save Tessa. Elgin hit the Elgin Bomb, took the title, and posed over Tessa’s fallen body. This storyline is getting heated.

Final Thoughts —

An overall good show. It was strong inside the ring, ending with a great match. In addition, the storyline developments surrounding the Impact World title were great.
