Colt Cabana to make AEW in-ring debut in Dynamite eight-man tag

After appearing at Revolution, Colt Cabana’s AEW in-ring debut is set for tonight’s episode of Dynamite.

Cabana will team with SCU (Scorpio Sky, Frankie Kazarian & Christopher Daniels) against The Dark Order (Evil Uno, Stu Grayson, John Silver & Alex Reynolds) in an eight-man tag match tonight. The match comes after Cabana saved Sky and Kazarian from The Dark Order after Evil Uno & Grayson defeated them on the Revolution pre-show.

The Dark Order have been teasing that the arrival of The Exalted One is near. A hooded figure came out after Cabana made the save at Revolution, but it was revealed to be Daniels. He then helped Cabana and his SCU stablemates fight off The Dark Order.

Cabana tweeted after it was announced that he’s signed with AEW: “As @TonyKhan said last night, I’ve signed with @AEWrestling & @AEWonTNT. I’ve had different goals & ideas throughout my career in Wrestling. Right now, to be involved on a national TV show & product with my Friends and Equals…it’s all I can ask for! This will be fun! Thankssss”

Cabana also did guest commentary on an episode of AEW Dark in December.

Tonight’s Dynamite is taking place at the 1STBANK Center in Denver, Colorado. New AEW World Champion Jon Moxley will team with Darby Allin against former champion Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara on the show. Lance Archer will also make his AEW debut, PAC vs. Chuck Taylor and Big Swole vs. Leva Bates are set, and AEW’s preview for the episode lists Jake Hager vs. QT Marshall.

AEW Dark spoilers: The Dark Order vs. Jungle Boy & Marko Stunt

Here are spoilers from tonight’s Dynamite tapings in Huntsville, Alabama that will air next week as part of AEW Dark:

  • Riho defeated Shoko Nakajima. Nakajima is a regular for Tokyo Joshi Pro and last fought for AEW back at Fight for the Fallen when she teamed with Bea Priestley to defeat Britt Baker and Riho.
  • Jimmy Havoc defeated Sonny Kiss. This is Havoc’s first match in AEW since December.
  • Hikaru Shida defeated Cassandra Golden
  • The Dark Order defeated Jungle Boy and Marko Stunt

During the tapings, ring announcer Justin Roberts introduced Missy Hyatt and Austin Idol to the crowd. Both appeared regularly in the Alabama area for Continental Championship Wrestling during the 1980s.

Next week’s episode of Dynamite will feature two title matches: Hangman Page and Kenny Omega will defend the Tag Team titles against SCU (Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky), while Riho will defend the Women’s title against Nyla Rose. Jon Moxley will also be in action, taking on Santana in what is being billed as a “eye for an eye” match.

Dynamite next week will be at the H.E.B. Center in Austin, Texas.

Luchasaurus returns on AEW Dynamite

Luchasaurus returned from injury tonight at AEW Dynamite, helping his friends ward off The Dark Order.

The Dark Order had defeated the team of Jungle Boy & Marko Stunt on tonight’s episode of Dynamite. After the match, Evil Uno asked Marko Stunt to join them. Stunt didn’t seem interested. The Dark Order, along with their minions, attacked Stunt and Jungle Boy and was about to put their mask on Jungle Boy when Luchasaurus arrived and laid everyone out. The trio then hugged afterwards.

Luchasaurus had been out for several weeks following a hamstring injury that he suffered just hours before the October 16 edition of AEW Dynamite. He was originally set to team with Jungle Boy to take on The Lucha Bros. in a AEW Tag Team tournament match. Marko Stunt ended up teaming with Jungle Boy instead in a losing effort.

Luchasaurus noted his return in a short and simple tweet on Twitter: “I’m back”.

Three-way tag match announced for AEW Fight for the Fallen

A three-way tag match has been made official for Fight for the Fallen.

The Dark Order (Evil Uno & Stu Grayson) vs. Angelico & Jack Evans vs. Luchasaurus & Jungle Boy is set for Saturday’s show. The winning team will advance to All Out on August 31, where they’ll have a chance to earn a first-round bye in AEW’s Tag Team title tournament.

Uno & Grayson were formerly known as the Super Smash Bros. They appeared at Double or Nothing in May and attacked Best Friends (Trent Barreta & Chuck Taylor) and Angelico & Evans.

Best Friends defeated Private Party (Marq Quen & Isiah Kassidy) and SoCal Uncensored (Scorpio Sky & Frankie Kazarian) on the Fyter Fest pre-show. As a stipulation of winning, Best Friends advanced to All Out and will compete for a first-round bye in the Tag title tournament.

A video from the Dark Order aired after Best Friends’ win at Fyter Fest. Uno & Grayson said Barreta & Taylor are first on their list of targets.

Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy were both in the Casino Battle Royale on the Double or Nothing pre-show. Hangman Page defeated Jimmy Havoc, MJF, and Jungle Boy (w/ Luchasaurus) in a four-way match at Fyter Fest.

During his appearance on the Steve Austin Show last month, AEW’s Tony Khan said the Tag Team title tournament will be “one of the main focuses” of AEW television when it debuts this fall.
