AEW Dark results: Six-man tag main event

The Big News —

Dr. Britt Baker and Kris Statlander retained their top two contender spots going into their match on Dynamite tomorrow night.

**********

The show started with a recap video from the AEW press conference back in February, which segued into a video of The Young Bucks stating they want to prove they are the best tag team in the business. However, because they’ve lost multiple big matches, they feel disappointed because it proves they haven’t been. They’ve spent months building themselves up and have now earned a title shot tomorrow night after winning last week’s Texas Street Fight.

Nick Jackson called SCU some of their best friends in the world. Matt Jackson said despite that they will show through their actions that they are the best. They just hope that it’s not awkward when they have Christmas dinner next week.

**********

Joining Excalibur at the booth this week is Vickie Guerrero, who got super heat, but also a nice pop when she came out and bellowed “EXCUSE ME!” Vickie is a very nice person, but I thought she was almost completely useless on this show.

AEW Tag Team Champions SoCal Uncensored (Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky) defeated Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) in a non-title match

Private Party have fallen off the tag team rankings after getting a title shot back at Full Gear. Vickie is really into them, as they have cougar stripes on their gear.

Kazarian and Kassidy traded near falls early on until slapping hands and tagging out. Kazarian later on hit a springboard leg drop on Quen and he nearly landed butt-first on Quen’s head. Speaking of Quen’s head, he then took a German suplex right on it. Excalibur said it was due to Kazarian not expecting Quen to be so light.

Kassidy got the hot tag and ran wild, including hitting a beautiful double team where he picked Sky up and Quen came off the middle rope with a bulldog for a two count. They went to the well with the double teams too many times. They sent Sly into Kazarian in the corner, but Sky gave his partner a monkey flip and Kazarian landed on his feet and took his foes out with a double clothesline.

Quen barely kicked out of a double team foot stomp/Unprettier. Finally, Quen missed a Shooting Star Press and SCU broke up the Silly String before Sky pinned Quen after the S-C-U-later.

We got recaps of Big Swole’s win and Brandi Rhodes’ interview from last Wednesday. It was also announced that Britt Baker will face Kris Statlander in a number one contender’s match tomorrow night.

Updated Women’s Rankings:

  • 5.) Emi Sakura
  • 4.) Nyla Rose
  • 3.) Hikaru Shida
  • 2.) Kris Statlander
  • 1.) Dr. Britt Baker

**********

Dr. Britt Baker submitted Machiko

Joey Janela joined Excalibur and Vickie. Machiko is from Dallas and has been wrestling for eight years. They announced her from Tulsa, so the crowd in Garland didn’t know she was a hometown/area girl.

Machiko got a little bit of offense, but it was The Doctor from the opening bell. Baker hit a superkick and slapped on the Lock Jaw for the win.

**********

Kris Statlander defeated Bea Priestley

The top two AEW women’s division contenders were both in action tonight. First Baker won and now Statlander is defending her number two ranking. If Statlander loses, she will lose her number one contender’s match tomorrow night.

Statlander looked good until they ended up outside the ring, where Priestley dropped her with a back suplex on the ring apron, which is the hardest part of the ring. Vickie said Priestley was “good at concussions” and this led to a joke about Janela having quite a few concussions and not to alert Nowinski.

Priestley tried to put Statlander in the “head stuck in the turnbuckles” spot, which always looks stupid, and Statlander apparently agreed as she just did a headstand on the buckle and then kicked Priestley in the face.

Statlander got out the proverbial hammer and nails as she was building momentum, but The Nightmare Collective walked to their front row seats and held up signs, encouraging Statlander to join them. Coincidence or not, Priestley took over here, so she must have ripped the nails out.

Statlander kicked out of a capture suplex, nearly got the win with an Oklahoma roll and a scissors kick, but did win with The Big Bang Theory.

**********

We got a post-match promo with Statlander. She informed us puny humans that she is going to be our leader. She has to beat Baker tomorrow and says the gravitational pull we feel is the AEW Women’s title coming home to her.

PAC & The Hybrid 2 (Jack Evans & Angelico) defeated Orange Cassidy & Best Friends (Trent Barreta & Chuck Taylor)

Main event time. After I complained last time about there being a 20-minute non-wrestling segment in the show, they drastically cut down this week to almost nothing. In case anyone from AEW actually reads this, I should say I enjoyed those post match promos you guys did one week.

Janela made a Jim Cornette reference by talking about “outlaw mudshows.” Someone let him know Cornette only watches Dynamite. Anyway, Cassidy was super over, as expected, and the heels got the heat when PAC put a knee square in the lower back of Chucky T.

PAC also showed what a bastard he was by not allowing Best Friends to hug when Trent made a brief comeback. This led to PAC putting the boots to his fellow former WWE’er.

This might as well have been a handicap match, as PAC did a much better job by himself than either of The Hybrid 2. Both Evans and Angelico lost the team’s momentum as soon as they tagged in.

Trent hit the half-and-half suplex and managed to make the hot tag to Cassidy. The fans nearly wet themselves. Babies were thrown in the air as Cassidy tagged in. Cassidy put his hands in his pockets to run spots with Evans and then threw a series of vicious leg kicks to PAC. That is an excellent strategy, since Pac relies on his Black Arrow to win matches and can he do it with bad legs?

In all seriousness, Cassidy used a tornado DDT on PAC and then a tope on all three heels. We got a three-way hug by the babyfaces and a top rope splash from Cassidy to Angelico for a two count. Cassidy left a legend as he tagged out. Taylor immediately got cut off and almost pinned after a 450 splash.

PAC booted Cassidy off the apron and the distraction nearly led to Taylor pinning him with a schoolboy, but PAC locked on The Brutalizer for the tap out.

**********

The show ended with Tony Schiavone and Dasha Gonzalez plugging AEWShop.com and AEW Revolution on February 29.

Final Thoughts —

The show went 65 minutes, but flowed quickly and better than last week. While the main event won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, it was a fun match that the crowd really got into.

The Young Bucks vs. Best Friends announced for AEW Dynamite

VIDEO: The Road to AEW All Out, episodes 5 and 6

AEW has uploaded their second Road to All Out episode of the week, with Brandi Rhodes cutting a promo on Shawn Spears ahead of his match against Cody at the August 31 pay-per-view:

Original —

The fifth episode of AEW Road to All Out can be seen below.

The next piece was By the Numbers with Alex Marvez, which highlighted the Cody/Shawn Spears match ahead of All Out. Marvez noted that both Cody and Spears will be allowed to have a representative at ringside. Marvez speculated about who Cody would choose, from his wife Brandi Rhodes to Diamond Dallas Page.

Footage from Adam Page’s appearance at House of Glory also aired.

The episode closed with Kenny Omega talking about his match against Jon Moxley at All Out, saying he knows Moxley wants to prove he isn’t damaged goods but he’s not going to let him take the spotlight away.

During his appearance on the Steve Austin Show, AEW’s Tony Khan revealed that AEW will be holding the Tag Team title tournament and it will be “one of the main focuses” of their television when it debuts this fall.

Two tag matches added to AEW Double or Nothing

With the show now under two weeks away, AEW has added a couple of matches to the card for Double or Nothing.

During this week’s episode of Being the Elite, two tag matches were announced for Double or Nothing. Best Friends (Trent Barreta & Chuck Taylor) will face Angelico & Jack Evans, while Aja Kong, Yuka Sakazaki & Emi Sakura will team against Hikaru Shida, Riho & Ryo Mizunami in a six-woman tag match.

Angelico & Evans joining AEW was revealed last week. Best Friends had been involved in a storyline where they were refusing to be in the battle royal at Double or Nothing and demanding to be in a different match.

Dave Meltzer reported in the most recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Riho has signed a five-show deal with AEW and wants to see how she likes working in the United States before she commits to a longer deal. Aja Kong and Sakazaki were announced for Double or Nothing at February’s ticket announcement party, while Shida signing with AEW was confirmed in April.

GCW Orange Cassidy Is Doing Something Or Whatever, Who Knows live results

The show aired Saturday from the White Eagle Hall in Jersey City, NJ, and is available on Fite.tv.

Orange Cassidy came out to start the show. In the most Orange Cassidy way, he welcomed everyone to the show. He asked the fans for a ring announcer since he didn’t plan for one and found one by the name of Louden Noxious.

Allie Kat defeated Kris Stadtlander, Saraya Knight and Shotzi Blackheart in an elimination Swamp Monster Lumberjack Match to become the Queen of the Swamp

The match started with Allie Kat asking Saraya to pet her belly, but instead they all got a stiff kick in the back. Kat and Stadlander got thrown outside, but the Swamp Monsters aren’t doing their job. The Kat, the Wolf, and the Alien all ganged up on Saraya in order to get some offense in and managed to pin her when they all jumped on top of her.

Stadlander used her telekinesis powers to make Shotzi battle Kat. They all landed outside the ring again. Shotzi went for a dive, but got caught by the Swamp Monsters and instead used her as a battering ram. She did later get a chance to dive on Kat and Kris. Back in the ring, Shotzi hit a 619 on Stadlander and a top rope senton to eliminate her.

Kat and Shotzi started trading strikes before Kat started scratching Shotzi on the ropes. Kat faked out a dive because she got scared, but later gathered the bravery thanks to the chants of the fans. Kat went for the Pussy Piledriver, but Shotzi escaped. Shotzi hit a running punch and DDT combo for a two count. Shotzi went for the senton, but Kat moved and landed the iledriver to win the match.

This was a fun match, but the wrestling wasn’t much. Like I said, the Swamp Monsters never did their job.

Chris Brookes (w/Kid Lykos) defeated Logan Easton Laroux in a best 7-out-of-13 falls match, 7-6

It started with Brookes low blowing Laroux for the first fall by DQ. The second fall also went to Laroux when Lykos came in and low blowed him.

The third fall saw Brookes lock in the Calamari Stretch for the submission. Brookes then started chopping Laroux. The next seven falls were all roll up reversals in the same spot ending 6-6 as we went into sudden death.

Laroux hit a brainbuster for a two count and then Brookes hit a jumping senton for a two count. Laroux locked in an Octopus Stretch, but Lykos distracted the referee by putting a mask on him. With the distraction, Brookes went to low blow Laroux, but he caught it and hit a superkick for a ten count that the ref unfortunately didn’t see.

CCK went for the Sick F’n Tag Moves, but Laroux caught Lykos with a low blow as he was coming down. Laroux got rid of Lykos, the ef finally got the mask off, and Brookes faked a low blow. The ref didn’t go for it, but he did roll up Laroux for the pin, winning 7-6. This was fun.

Jigsaw defeated Sonny Defarge, Dan Champion, Jake Atlas, Tony Deppen, Lucky 13 and Air Wolf in the 3rd Inaugural Jansport Invitational Scramble to win a $16 Gift Card at Friendly’s

Last night, Deppen beat up a man with no legs, so today, he is really over as a heel.

All men went after Champion to start the match, leaving Deppen and Atlas in the ring for a fast paced exchange of reversals and counters with Atlas looking like a superstar. They traded some lucha armdrags and pin attempts before coming to a standoff. Jigsaw and Air Wolf came in to try and submit them, who also got into a slap exchange while holding the submissions.

Jigsaw and Wolf did some lucha before Defarge and Lucky 13 came in for their turn. Lucky 13 got a quick two count after a moonsault knee. Defarge got a two count with an over the shoulder toss, but Champion returned and break the pin. Champion and Lucky 13 went at it with the former catching the latter in the middle of the air after a crossbody and dropping him with a flapjack. Champion went to get each other competitor one by one as they kept coming, at one point hitting a double chokeslam on Atlas and Wolf.

Champion went for a dive, but Deppen and Lucky 13 took him out. Deppen hit a huge tope suicida that landed in the fifth row. Lucky 13 hit a top rope tornillo into that same row and a growing pile of humans. Atlas was the next. Finally, Champion recovered and hit a plancha on top of everyone. There’s nothing left of the first six rows.

Back in the ring, Champion powerbombed Atlas, but Jigsaw broke up the pin. Jigsaw took out Deppen with a German, but Lucky 13 broke the pin with a Swanton. Deppen hit a jumping backstabber for a two count. Atlas hit Deppen with a cutter and a cartwheel DDT for a two count when Wolf broke it up.

Wolf hit a Spanish Fly on Atlas, but Defarge broke it up.

Champion and Defarge faced off, but Deppen came in and chopped them both, only to get tossed to the outside the hard way. Champion and Defarge went to do the same on Jigsaw, but he countered, took out Champion, superkicked Defarge, hit the Jig’n’Tonic and finally picked up the win. This was a great, fast paced, action packed match. Everyone embraced afterward.

Session Moth Martina and Nate “Spyder” Webb went to a double pin draw in a 5 o’Clock Somewhere last person standing match

The stipulation is that every 30 seconds, the participants need to chug a beer. Webb chugged his first beer during his entrance. Webb, Noxious, and referee Bryce all danced in the ring to Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus. Session Moth has been chugging beers since Wednesday.

They chugged the first beer and went all Takayama vs. Frye on each other. They chugged the second beer and they’re already tipsy for a much slower Takayama vs Frye spot. After the third chug, they ran the ropes and they both fell down. After the fourth chug, Webb got out of the ring, so Martina recovered and started running the ropes. She got tired before actually going for the dive, so she did the fifth chug in between while running the ropes and just collapsed.

Webb set up chairs for a slapoff. They started trading forearms and chugs. Webb offered a cheers and took out Martina with the beer can. Martina recovered, spit the beer on Webb, and locked in a half Boston Crab. Another chug happened mid submission, so Webb used the beer to spit on Martina to release the lock.

Martina hit a Tornado DDT and a top rope codebreaker for a two count before chugging again. Webb hit a CrossRhodes and went for the top rope where they chugged again before Martina hits a superplex for a two count. Martina and Webb exchanged beer mists and collided in the ring after stereo lariats. They fell with each other’s arms on each other and Bryce called it a double pin draw to the chants of “AL-CO-HOL”.

They all danced after the match. Kudos to them for pulling a match while chugging beer every 30 seconds.

Team Blue (Faye Jackson, Jimmy Yuta, Terra Callaway, Arik Royal, & Red Eagle) defeated Team Red (Veda Scott, Shazza McKenzie, Jeff Cannonball, Daniel Makabe, & Sage Phillips) in a NOVA dodgeball challenge

Team captains were Veda Scott and Faye Jackson. Scott picked Shazza McKenzie, Jeff Cannonball, Daniel Makabe, and Sage Phillips whileJackson picked Jimmy Yuta, Terra Callaway, Arik Royal, Red Eagle.

All picks led to jokes on MJF never getting picked. He took the balls at the end, setting up a wrestling match instead. Fans booed the idea and started chanting ‘Wrestling Sucks!” and “Dodgeball is Real!”

Terra and Cannonball started with a good husband and wife battle. Terra got the upper hand early, which hurt Cannonball’s feelings. Yuta came in next and took on Shazza. They did a series of reversals and armdrags before Yuta took her out with a dropkick. Sage came in and hit a crucifix to take him out. The rest of the match kept building up to Scott vs Jackson.

Faye ran wild on Veda, hitting a series of running hip attacks. Veda took out Faye after going for the eyes and then hit a dive on top of everyone. Red Eagle hit a running cannonball on everyone. The rest of the wrestlers continued hitting dives one by one until Cannonball teased diving, but crashed and burned at the ropes. Terra came in and choked Cannonball. Yuta got a Gory Special on Shazza. Red Eagle locked in an octopus stretch on Makabe. Royal locked in Sage, and finally, Faye had a Boston Crab on Veda and all of Team Red tapped out at the same time. This was something for sure.

Teddy Hart’s Reading Rainbow

Teddy came out with Mr. Velvet and Caspian. He talked to the fans about going to jail and about what WrestleMania weekend means to the talent. He talked about fans supporting them even when they have dodgeball games and cats in the ring. He thanked the crowd. He put over GCW, the talent backstage, and especially Joey Janela. He talked about Orange Cassidy being one of the most unique wrestlers out there who he brought out to reconcile with Mr. Velvet.

Hart read a book called, “If I Was A Cat”. Fans popped huge for each page he read, getting “Read Forever” chants. This was a really nice heartfelt segment.

Shinjiro Otani defeated Jonathan Gresham

This was a great technical contest. It started with a battle for wrist control, but Otani quickly started going for the kneebar. Gresham chopped Otani, opening that door early on. Gresham started working over Otani’s left arm, manipulating the elbows, looking for flash pins in between. There was a great exchange were Gresham had the Kimura and wouldn’t release it even after Otani hit a scoop slam on him.

Otani hit a couple of bootwashes where he started taking out some of the staff outside the ring for some reason. Gresham hit a springboard moonsault to cut off Otani’s momentum and hit a couple of boots himself for a two count.

They started exchanging forearms with Gresham going for the left arm instead of the neck. Otani hit a Dragon Suplex for a near fall, followed with a spiral bomb to pick up the win.

Trent? defeated Chuck Taylor in overtime after a 60 second time limit draw

It started with both men locking up in the center of the ring and then it ended. Fans asked for five more seconds. Trent then rolled up Taylor to win via pinfall in overtime. This was great for the time it got. After the match, they hugged it out.

The roster came out to dance while the staff set up the props for the main event.

GCW Heavyweight Champion Nick Gage (w/Dewey Donovan) defeated Ultramantis Black in a non-title yuletide deathmatch

Ultramantis started with the upper hand as they started with a series of reversals, but he was then shotgun dropkicked into a barbed wire board and Gage completely turned the match around. Ultramantis got caught under the wire and ended up doing the next spots with the wire wrapped around him. He tossed Gage out and hit a rolling senton. Gage took Ultramantis around the venue, throwing him around before he grabbed a second barbed wire board which he slammed on top of Mantis.

Ultramantis recovered and went after Gage’s head. Back in the ring, Gage went for a Twisting Vader Bomb, but Mantis got the knees up and hit a bulldog into a chair. Mantis tossed Gage into the barbed wire Christmas tree for a two count. Mantis dropped thumbtacks in the center of the ring, but ended up getting a DDT on top of them for a two count. Gage went for another Vader Bomb, but this time with the Christmas tree on top. Once again, Mantis kicked out at two.

Gage hit a swinging neckbreaker on top of the tacks for a two count. Gage set up a table with tree ornaments and hit a superplex, but Mantis kept kicking out. Mantis started a comeback and went for an Angel’s Wings, but Gage reversed into a chokebreaker for the win. This was a good hardcore match that felt chaotic at points.

After the match, MJF came out and nailed Gage with a chair. He cut a promo saying he was mad for not being picked in the dodgeball game and called out the fans for liking this show, saying this is not what wrestling is.

Cassidy came out to confront him, hitting the Orange Mist on him and set him up for Gage and Mantis who took him out on top of the tacks. Cassidy gave Gage and Mantis sunglasses to close out the show.

This was a fun show to watch. Aside from the main event, it was all fun and games and the type of show that fans either love or hate.

**********

TORU YANO & TOMOHIRO ISHII DEFEATED SHOTA UMINO & AYATO YOSHIDA (7:50)

This was a fun sprint. They heavily teased an upset, and the crowd loved the false finishes.

Umino and Yoshida jumped Yano and Ishii before the bell, looking to gain the early edge. Yano and Ishii recovered quickly. Ishii and Umino had an intense exchange, and Umino dropped Ishii to one knee, but Ishii took him down with a shoulder tackle.

JEFF COBB & MICHAEL ELGIN DEFEATED MANABU NAKANISHI & YUJI NAGATA (8:58)

Not bad. Lots of power stuff with Cobb and Nakanishi.

Nagata and Elgin grappled to a stalemate, then tagged Nakanishi and Cobb. They did a knuckle lock, and Nakanishi won that battle. Nakanishi hit a tackle, but Cobb scoop slammed him, then tagged Elgin. Elgin delivered some punishment, then tagged Cobb.

Cobb and Nakanishi exchanged headbutts. Elgin and Cobb used a series of quick tags, working over Nakanishi’s back and neck. Nakanishi hit a lariat, then tagged Nagata, who went to work on Elgin with kicks. Nagata hit a boot in the corner and an exploder for a nearfall.

Cobb used an Angle slam into a standing moonsault on Nakanishi, and pinned him.

LANCE ARCHER & DAVEY BOY SMITH JR. DEFEATED YUJIRO TAKAHASHI & HANGMAN PAGE (10:41)

This picked up near the end, really when Page tagged in.

Smith went nuts on Page with suplexes at the outset. Killer Elite Squad tried to take the fight to the floor, but that backfired. Yujiro and Page hit stereo suicide dives. Smith and Archer came back with a Hart attack.

Smith and Archer worked over Yujiro, both scoring nearfalls on him. Smith used a chinlock. Archer beat on Yujiro with forearms and palm strikes to the chest. Yujiro finally got to his corner and tagged Page. Page hit a pescado on Smith. He went to the top for a moonsault. He teased one from the post to the floor, but Smith cut him off. Page fought off Smith and hit Archer with a moonsault in the ring.

Yujiro hit a sliding dropkick to Archer, and Page hit a standing shooting star for two. Page hit the ropes, but right into a pounce from Archer. I love the pounce.

Smith and Yujiro got tags. Yujiro hit a bulldog and a low dropkick to Smith’s leg. Yujiro went for a fisherman buster, but Smith countered into a low dropkick. Yujiro and Page hit stereo dropkicks, then Yujiro got the fisherman buster for a two count.

ZACK SABRE JR. & TAICHI DEFEATED DAVID FINLAY & JUICE ROBINSON (9:23)

Not great.

Sabre and Taichi jumped Fin Juice before the bell. Juice and Finlay recovered, and both hit planchas. Juice missed a cannonball on Sabre. Sabre started stretching Juice in the ring, while Taichi and Finlay fought in the crowd. Taichi used a chair to attack Finlay. Sabre took Juice to the outside, and Taichi hit him with a chair.

Back in the ring, Sabre and Taichi worked Juice over. Sabre used a guillotine and an octopus. Juice escaped and hit a Juice box, then tagged Finlay. Finlay hit a pair of back elbows on the mat, then a diving uppercut off the second rope on Taichi.

Sabre and Taichi used a series of kicks on Finlay, and Taichi picked up a nearfall. Taichi removed his slacks, then hit an axe bomber for a nearfall. Juice took Sabre to the floor. TAKA took the ref while Taichi went for the mic stand. Taichi missed with the stand, and Juice and Finlay made a comeback.

The ref took a bump, allowing Taichi to hit a low blow and use a Gedo clutch on Finlay for the pin.

HIROYOSHI TENZAN & SATOSHI KOJIMA DEFEATED TOGI MAKABE & TOA HENARE (9:58)

This was okay. Everyone worked hard. Tenzan was moving a little bit better than he has of late.

Tenzan and Makabe kicked things off. Tenzan was doing well until he attepted a kokeshi, which he missed. Both tagged out. Kojima hit a DDT on Henare, then tagged Tenzan. TenKoji worked over Henare. Tenzan hit a headbutt for a nearfall, then a leg lariat for another.

Kojima tagged in and used a neckbreaker for a series of nearfalls. Henare finally got a tag to Makabe. Tenzan hit him with a brainbuster for a nearfall. Tenzan and Makabe dropped each other with simultaneous lariats, then tagged out.

Henare and Kojima exchanged machine gun chops in the corner. Henare hit a Samoan drop for a nearfall. Henare hit the slowest, gentlest spear I’ve ever seen. Kojima popped up and hit a cutter. Tenzan jumped in and they hit the TenKoji cutter for a nearfall, but Makabe broke up the pin.

EVIL & SANADA DEFEATED TAKASHI IIZUKA & MINORU SUZUKI (10:53)

The last minute of the bout, when everyone jumped in and broke up finishers, was excellent. The preceding ten minutes was kind of a mindless brawl.

Suzuki and Iizuka jumped EVIL and SANADA before the bell. Iizuka used a chair on SANADA from the floor to the ring, allowing Suzuki-gun to gain the edge. They fought into the crowd, and Suzuki hit SANADA with a half dozen chairs. SANADA beat the count back in at 19.

Suzuki removed Iizuka’s muzzle, and Iizuka bit everyone. Suzuki hit SANADA with a chair on the floor. Red Shoes refused to count an Iizuka pin on SANADA due to the chair shot. CHUCKIE T & BERETTA DEFEATED TAMA TONGA & TANGA LOA (17:02)

A really good match. Beretta is an awesome worker. He always goes all out, and did even more so here in a semi-main spot.

The Best Friends hit stereo enziguris, but missed with stereo planchas. It looked as if the Guerillas of Destiny might take over, but Beretta hit an Asai moonsault, and his team remained in control in the early going.

Beretta hit the ropes, but Jado nailed him with a kendo stick from the floor, as the Guerillas took over. Jado continued to attack Beretta with the stick on the floor. Loa hit Beretta with an attitude adjustment on the apron.

SWITCHBLADE JAY WHITE, BAD LUCK FALE, TAIJI ISHIMORI & GEDO DEFEATED KAZUCHIKA OKADA, HIROSHI TANAHASHI, KUSHIDA & ROCKY ROMERO (16:40)

The Bullet Club found themselves overwhelmed at the opening bell. All but Gedo bailed to the floor, and everyone teamed up on Gedo. Tana hit him with a kokeshi. KUSHIDA and Rocky hit him with clotheslines in the corner. Okada used an elbow drop. Gedo finally avoided a corner clothesline from Rocky, and his teammates jumped back in to take control of the match.

White took Okada into the aisle and choked him with a banner. Gedo used the ring bell hammer on Tana. Rocky just beat a count back inside at 19. The Bullet Club worked over Rocky. They cut the ring in half, isolating Rocky.

ROH TV results: Best Friends vs. Bully Ray & Young, WOH title match

Ian Riccaboni, Colt Cabana, and Mandy Leon called the action for the first match.

Women of Honor Champion Sumie Sakai defeated Madison Rayne to retain her title

They exchanged a rolling pin sequence to start it off. Sakai landed seven chops and followed that with some stiff forearms.

After the break, Sakai hit a missile dropkick off the top but missed a moonsault, which allowed Rayne to land a tornado DDT. Sakai kicked out at two and landed a fisherman’s suplex, but Rayne kicked out.

Rayne hit a cutter out of nowhere and almost got the win, but it was not enough to keep Sakai down. Rayne then ran into Sakai’s Smash Mouth finisher and Sakai retained with the win.

A video recap of the feud between Josh Woods and Shane Taylor aired.

Shane Taylor defeated Josh Woods

Woods started it off with a running knee. He declared that Taylor had a loaded glove, as Taylor was suspiciously wearing MMA gloves on this evening. Woods used some jiu-jitsu to attack the ankle of Taylor. A huge forearm sent Woods to the floor and the brawl continued outside the ring.

Back inside, Taylor landed a big splash but only got a one count. Woods fought back, landed a strong kick to the head of Taylor, and both went down. Woods landed a spinning back elbow, a running knee, and an exploder suplex that earned him a two count.

After the break, Woods applied an armbar and took off Taylor’s glove to reveal that, in fact, Taylor had loaded his glove. He pleaded with the referee not to throw out the match, but that allowed Taylor to recover and connect with his Greetings from the 216 piledriver for the finish.

SoCal Uncensored cut a promo on The Briscoes saying that Sandy Fork, Delaware was the worst town they’d ever been to.

They replayed the Jay Lethal vs. Jonathan Gresham video package that has been on the last few episodes hyping the upcoming 30-minute Iron Man match for the ROH World Championship that will air next week.

Caprice Coleman joined the announcers for the next match.

Marcus Kross and Charles Zanders went to a no contest in a Top Prospect Tournament first round match

A nice sequence of counters and kicks ensued, but this match didn’t last too long as Jeff Cobb made his way to the ring and destroyed both with monstrous suplexes.

Eli Isom came out and landed about 10 forearms to Cobb that had zero effect. Cobb manhandled Isom with an insane reverse powerslam as well.

Best Friends (Trent Barreta & Chuck Taylor) defeated Bully Ray & Silas Young

Ray talked trash to Cabana before the match. Coleman calmed down Cabana.

Ray slammed Barreta and went after his recently repaired arm. Barreta fought back and tagged in Taylor, but Ray squished him with a Thesz press. Young tagged in, then the Best Friends landed some friendly offense until Ray used a distraction of the referee to rack Barreta around the ring post.

After the break, Young went back to work on the arm of Barreta. Some cheap double team moves by Ray and Young kept Barreta isolated. Finally, Barreta landed a tornado DDT, flipped off Ray, and made the tag to Taylor. He landed the Falcon Arrow, but Young kicked out. The Best Friends landed a lawndart cutter and then gave each other a hug, but that allowed Ray to blindside them.

Ray screamed at Young to tag him. But as he went for the tag, Ray jumped off the apron and bailed on the match to teach him a lesson. The Best Friends landed the Dudebuster on Young for the win.

Beretta and Chuck Taylor added to All In

The Best Friends are not only back, but they’re All In.

The event’s Twitter feed confirmed this afternoon that Baretta and Chuck Taylor will be a part of All In next month. After Chuck Taylor asked if he and Baretta were still booked, Cody Rhodes confirmed with him that they will be part of the show. It wasn’t specified what kind of match they would be in, though Nick Jackson mentioned in a Twitter thread that they were originally supposed to face them as part of a six man tag team match.

Jackson also said that they hoped to have an answer in regards to streaming/broadcasting in the next week. Cody Rhodes has said in the past that the show will have both a streaming and pay-per-view distribution service.

Other matches for the show include Kazuchika Okada vs. Marty Scurll, Joey Janela vs. Hangman Page and a six man tag match pitting Rey Mysterio, Bandido and Fenix against Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson and Kota Ibushi.

All In will be held on September 1 at the Sears Center in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
