The Acclaimed advance to AEW Full Gear Tag Team title match

Image: AEW

Former AEW Tag Team Champions The Acclaimed are now the final team to qualify for the four-way Tag Team title match at next Saturday’s AEW Full Gear.

Max Caster & Anthony Bowens qualified by defeating LFI’s Rush & The Beast Mortos on Saturday’s Collision, getting the pin after both an Arrival by Bowens and a Caster Mic Drop onto Mortos.

They join reigning champions Private Party, House of Black’s Malakai Black & Brody King, and The Outrunners in the four-way at the pay-per-view. The duo haven’t held the titles since their 140-day reign ended in February 2023.

It will be the first title defense by Marq Quen & Isiah Kassidy who won the titles from the Young Bucks last month while The Outrunners and House of Black have never held the gold.

Here’s the current card for Saturday, November 23rd in Newark, New Jersey:

  • AEW World Champion Jon Moxley defends against Orange Cassidy
  • TBS Champion Mercedes Mone defends against Kris Statlander
  • TNT Champion Jack Perry defends against Daniel Garcia
  • Will Ospreay vs. Kyle Fletcher
  • Jay White vs. Hangman Page
  • Bobby Lashley vs. Swerve Strickland
  • MJF vs. Roderick Strong
  • Mariah May & Mina Shirakawa champagne celebration
  • Four-way match for AEW Tag Team titles: Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) defends against The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd), House of Black (Malakai Black & Brody King), and The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens)
  • Zero Hour: Costco Guy AJ vs. QT Marshall

AEW Collision live results: Tag Team title number one contender’s match

A three-way match on tonight’s AEW Collision will determine who faces the Young Bucks at WrestleDream.

Top Flight, Malakai Black & Buddy Matthews of the House of Black, and Private Party will duke it out in a three-way with the winners getting a shot at the AEW Tag Team titles at this month’s pay-per-view.

Private Party made it clear they want the next shot following their Wednesday win over the Iron Savages.

Darby Allin, who is looking for someone to face at WrestleDream, will take on Johnny TV. The Conglomeration’s Orange Cassidy & Kyle O’Reilly, who have been busy with The Learning Tree, will take on the Premier Athletes. Former CMLL Women’s Champion Willow Nightingale will challenge Trish Adora.

Other matches will see Wheeler Yuta take on BEEF, the Grizzled Young Veterans vs. The Outrunners, and a four-way match between Nick Wayne, Komander, Hologram, and Action Andretti.

Kris Statlander will also be in action.

**********

Collision came to us live (to tape) from Toledo, Ohio. Darby Allin made his way to the ring for the opening match. Tony Schiavone & Nigel McGuinness were on the call.

Darby Allin defeated Johnny TV

Johnny has had some rough showings lately but came together with Allin to have a fun opener here. Darby is one of the best television wrestlers in the world, finding a way to have cool, unique matches with anybody. Darby’s WrestleDream match is an enticing one, revisiting one of his best rivalries.

Allin controlled the early stage of the match until Johnny caught him with a poke to the eye. Johnny tied Allin in the ropes and hit a sliding German suplex for a nearfall. Johnny held control until Allin caught a climbing Johnny with a slap to the face. Allin brought Johnny down with a superplex, but Johnny followed up with a Side Russian Leg Sweep off the apron to the floor.

Johnny hit a rising knee to Allin on the steps, sending him to the floor. Johnny tried to hit a corkscrew splash off the steps to the floor, but Allin evaded it and hit a Coffin Splash to the floor. Johnny swept Allin’s legs from under him on a Coffin Drop attempt and hit a corkscrew kick to Allin in the ropes.

Allin evaded the Starship Pain, but Johnny caught him on a Coffin Splash attempt and hit a uranage out of the Razor’s Edge position. Johnny went for Starship Pain, but Allin evaded it and hit a Code Red for a nearfall. Allin hit the Coffin Drop to a standing Johnny to score the win.

After the match, Allin took the mic and challenged anybody to answer his open challenge. No one did, even after Allin challenged them to not let an opportunity to make their name pass them by. The challenge seemed to go unanswered, so Allin went to leave until Brody King bumrushed him down the ramp. King powerbombed Allin on the apron before pinning him to the post. He accepted his challenge and promised violence at WrestleDream.

We got an Outrunners video, this time with FTR training with them. Dax Harwood bleached his mustache, and they donned the Outrunners shades to complete the training.

The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd) defeated Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson)

Look, I get that the Outrunners are hot right now. They’re selling merch, people are into the act, alright. Is there ANY other team they could’ve fed them other than the new guys who are actually a really good team? I don’t get why they even bothered bringing the Vets in if they’re never going to give Gibson time to talk and get them over, especially if they’re just going to do jobs all the time. It’s a confusing use of a really good team when the tag division is dry as a bone right now, but I guess I can’t kill them if they run with the Outrunners.

Magnum and Drake started, with Magnum scoring with an armdrag. Floyd tagged in and worked his way up from the mat on a lock-up and posed to a pop. The Veterans got control on an Irish Whip block, but another attempt got reversed by Floyd. The Outrunners ran wild with double team moves as we went to a commercial break. There was a commercial for something called a TrumpyTrout, a singing fish that impersonates the former president. Not sure who that’s for, but alrighty then.

The Veterans were working on Magnum after the break, with Magnum fighting for the tag and getting it. Floyd ran wild, pinballing the Veterans with bodyslams. They hit the Predator double elbow drop, but Gibson shoved Magnum off the top and isolated him. Floyd shoved Drake off the top rope on a Doomsday Device attempt, and Magnum caught Gibson in a victory roll for the win.

We got a video package for Britt Baker. Baker noted that she hadn’t had a one-on-one World Title match since she lost the title back in 2022. Baker challenged Mariah May to a Women’s World Title match at the Title Tuesday Dynamite.

The Conglomeration was in the back with Lexy Nair. Willow Nightingale said that Britt Baker needed to wait in line because she wanted Mariah May first. Mark Briscoe cut his wacky promo. The word of the day is diversification, and also sophistication.

Willow Nightingale defeated Trish Adora

Nightingale losing up to the Women’s Title is odd, as Mariah May noted on Dynamite. But if AEW feels the need to pull the plug on May’s lukewarm reign, Willow is a great hand to have up their sleeve. We’ll see how Britt Baker plays into all of this.

Mariah May was at ringside. Code of Honor adhered to before Nightingale hit her low crossbody for a quick nearfall. Adora scored with a kick, then split on top of Nightingale in an arm lock. Nightingale pounced Adora into a commercial break.

Adora had Nightingale twisted into a pretzel coming back from the break, before dropping her with a neckbreaker. Nightingale made her comeback, but Adora cut her off with a crossbody. Adora got a nearfall with a pair of suplexes, standard and German, for respective nearfalls. Nightingale booted away a clothesline and snatched Adora up in the Babe With The Powerbomb for the win.

After the match, May shoved the belt in Nightingale’s face and went to slap her, but Nightingale blocked the slap and bounced her around ringside. May escaped the powerbomb and bailed up the ramp.

Wheeler Yuta was backstage with Alicia Atout. PAC, Claudio Castagnoli, & Marina Shafir entered the frame, with PAC growling that he wasn’t Yuta’s partner. Castagnoli cleared the room and allowed Yuta to get his anger out. Yuta was upset about being left in the dark and the group turning on Bryan, asking how he could trust Castagnoli again. Castagnoli cooly responded by asking if he had ever steered Yuta wrong. He handed Yuta his Trios Title and said that he would always have Yuta’s best interests in mind.

(The Yuta substory of the Moxley/Danielson story is incredibly interesting, and more of the type of storytelling that I want out of this promotion. Yuta is Danielson’s protégé, but he and Claudio ended up being the tag team of the group, with Claudio getting Yuta his first AEW Title. It’s a logical dilemma, especially with Castagnoli and Moxley playing mind games.)

Mariah May was backstage with Lexy Nair. She was upset at everyone for coming after her and her title. Vice Principal Christopher Daniels entered the frame and booked Britt Baker vs. Willow Nightingale for Title Tuesday, with a title shot on the line against May at WrestleDream. I guess it’s title adjacent.

(This was May’s best promo since she turned on Toni Storm. There was actual emotion behind her words, instead of the cold femme fatale deal that just wasn’t working.)

Wheeler Yuta defeated Beef (w/Anthony Henry)

For the uninitiated, Beef is Workhorsemen Anthony Henry’s second cousin, tagging with Henry during JD Drake’s recovery period. Yuta came out hot, scoring with a Right Angle Slam as Jon Moxley & the Blackpool Combat Club watched from the crowd. Yuta dropkicked Henry off the apron, then laid in the hammer and anvil elbows before locking on the Cattle Mutilation for the quick win.

The Conglomeration (Kyle O’Reilly & Orange Cassidy) (w/ Rocky Romero) defeated The Premier Athletes (Ariya Daivari & Tony Nese) (w/ Mark Sterling & Josh Woods)

While this combination has been pretty repetitive, this was a very fun tag match. When the Conglomeration began teaming up, I wanted O’Reilly and Cassidy to end up being the regular team of the group. This match has only made me want that more, as they work very well together. I can see them as a highly useful team in the tag division.

The Athletes got off to a jump start, but O’Reilly & Cassidy quickly got on the good foot and ran wild. We got a dive train before we went to a commercial. After the break, Cassidy crawled through the legs of Daivari to get the hot tag to O’Reilly. O’Reilly ran wild until he got necked on the ropes by Nese, leading to a quick flurry from the Athletes before a 450 splash scored a nearfall.

Cassidy got the tag back in, taking both Athletes down until Daivari caught him with a lariat. O’Reilly got caught with Greetings From Asbury Park from Nese, but Cassidy countered it with a DDT. Sterling distracted the ref for Woods to pull Cassidy out of the ring.

Romero and Woods got into it before Sterling caught Romero with a low blow. Mark Briscoe came out to clear Woods out, and Cassidy punched Sterling out. Cassidy caught Nese with the Orange Punch, and as O’Reilly choked out Daivari, Cassidy got the win with the Beach Break.

Lance Archer was killing geeks again when Don Callis walked up to him. He asked if Archer was still being managed by Jake Roberts, and after killing another geek, Archer said yes.

(At least Archer in the Callis Family keeps him on TV regularly.)

Mercedes Mone & Kamille were with Lexy Nair. She put herself and Kamille over, calling Kamille “more than a woman.” Kris Statlander walked in, taking umbrage with them using her nickname. She said that “born-again Kristen” had a match tonight and told them to watch.

Hologram defeated Komander, Nick Wayne, Action Andretti

Hologram continues to win in this showcase of the depth of AEW’s roster. This was an incredibly fun four-way match with these great young athletes. Komander in particular was phenomenal in this match, but all four accounted for themselves very well here.

Oh boy. Wayne and Andretti cleared the ring before Andretti caught Wayne with a dropkick and a springboard tornillo press for a nearfall. Hologram sent Andretti to the floor, leading to Hologram and Komander doing good lucha things. Wayne cut off a Hologram dive before Andretti hit a handspring to Komander. Andretti hit a Rolling Thunder off the apron and a 619 to Wayne before a split-legged moonsault to the floor sent us to a commercial break.

Hologram was running wild as we came back, dropping Wayne and Andretti with a dual suplex/DDT combination. After a massive dive to Komander, a 450 splash to Wayne scored a nearfall. Komander hit a springboard headscissors to both Hologram and Wayne before sending Hologram to the floor. Andretti caught Komander with a Spanish Fly for a nearfall. Hologram caught Wayne with a powerslam before Komander caught Hologram with a Canadian Destroyer to reset everything.

Komander hit a sick twisting poisonrana off the ropes, then hit the ropewalk shooting star press. Wayne cut Komander off and hit Wayne’s World on him. Andretti took Wayne out before Hologram cut off a handspring with an enzuigiri. Hologram hit a Blue Thunder Bomb on Andretti for the win.

The Beast Mortos was backstage with Lexy Nair. The Undisputed Kingdom walked in, upset that Mortos seemed to be lined up with La Faccion Ingobernable instead of them. They told him to reconsider, as Mortos growled.

Kris Statlander defeated Zoey Lynn

(Statlander is a babyface now, I guess. Mone vs. Statlander will be a good match, but it’s just a sudden switch. I think someone thought of the “born again Kristen” line and worked backward from there.)

Lynn jumped Statlander to no avail, as Statlander beat her quickly with Saturday Night Fever. Staturday Night Fever? After the match, Mercedes Mone & Kamille came out. Mone said that while she was impressed, Statlander needed to show her respect. She sicced Kamille on Statlander, who booted her down and dropped her with the Road To Damascus.

Darby Allin was in the back, where he challenged Brody King to meet him face-to-face on Dynamite. He noted that while he had beaten King in the past, he had never pinned him. He only beat him in a coffin match, but that wasn’t enough. He noted that he went to Tony Khan to get King a job, but if King wanted what Allin had, he’d have to work a lot harder.

We got a video package on Emi Sakura scoring a win in Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling. It was announced that Sakura would get a title match against Mercedes Mone, for both Mone’s TBS and NJPW STRONG Women’s Championships. Hey, a title match on Title Tuesday!

AEW World Tag Team Title #1 Contendership Three Way Match – Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) defeated Top Flight (Dante Martin & Darius Martin) & House Of Black (Buddy Matthews & Malakai Black)

(The crowd was pretty light for this one. I don’t know if it was because they were tired, or if it’s because they didn’t really buy any of these teams beating the Young Bucks. If Private Party were going to get this title shot, I wouldn’t have spent the last month having Jon Moxley and his crew murder them. It’s about now or never for those guys, so we’ll see if they can recapture the magic against the Bucks next week.)

Dante & Kassidy started off, matching evenly before tagging in their partners for a stand-off. Private Party scored with double dropkicks before scoring with dives, but the House of Black followed them out with forearms. Quen went for a dive but got kneed out of the air. Kassidy followed and took a double powerbomb on the apron.

Dante Martin was running wild as we came back from the break, scoring a nearfall with a frog splash. Quen took Dante down with a Pele Kick before they respectively tagged their partners. Darius and Kassidy evaded each other until Kassidy scored with a stunner over the ropes. Darius came back with a flatliner, but Private Party caught him with Silly String.

Black and Matthews tagged in and ran wild with strikes until Dante took them both down. All aboard the move train! The final stop was a Gin & Juice attempt foiled by Black holding onto his partner’s foot. Matthews hit Kassidy with a Jackhammer before Black followed with a double stomp for a nearfall.

Action Andretti came out and threw another bottle of water at the House of Black, with Dante getting a tag in the process. Kassidy hit a step-up dive to the crowd on the floor, then followed up with Gin & Juice to score the win and the title shot at WrestleDream.

AEW Collision & Rampage live results: All star eight-man tag match

For the first time in company history, all of AEW’s male champions will be part of an eight-man all star tag team match to headline tonight’s AEW Collision — the go-home show for Saturday’s All Out.

Collision will be followed by a live Rampage, completing a three-hour block on AEW action in Chicago.

The main event will feature AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson teaming with the AEW Trios Champions (Claudio Castagnoli, PAC & Wheeler Yuta) against AEW Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks, AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada & TNT Champion Jack Perry.

Collision will feature three qualifying bouts for Saturday’s four-way title defense by the aforementioned Okada with Orange Cassidy vs. Bryan Keith, Konosuke Takeshita vs. The Beast Mortos, and Mark Briscoe vs. Lance Archer.

Former AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida will face Deonna Purrazzo ahead of Shida’s Saturday challenge of TBS Champion Mercedes Mone.

Our live coverage begins at 8 PM EST and continues with Rampage at 10 PM EST in this same post.

**********

Collision began with Tony Schiavone & Nigel McGuinness replaying the angle from the end of this past week’s Dynamite, with Hangman Page lighting Swerve Strickland’s childhood home on fire. Schiavone noted that AEW has refused to sanction the Steel Cage match, making it a Lights Out Steel Cage match. The announcers then threw to footage of Jon Moxley & Marina Shafir entering the building earlier in the day.

Continental Contenders Challenge Match – Mark Briscoe defeated Lance Archer

This was a bloody start to the show, with Briscoe eventually chopping Archer down to get into tomorrow’s Continental Title match. I’ve been hoping for a Briscoe/Okada singles match down the line, but I’ll take some interactions in a four-way.

The winners of the three Continental Contenders Challenge matches tonight will challenge Kazuchika Okada for the Continental Championship tomorrow night at All Out.

Archer jumped Briscoe during his entrance, pinballing him around the floor. A bloodied Briscoe threw some strikes before Archer sent him back to the floor. Briscoe dodged a cannonball against the barricade, then hit his chair-assisted dive to Archer on the floor. Archer came back with a spinebuster as we went to a commercial break.

Archer was still in control after the commercial break, hitting Briscoe with a chokeslam on the apron. Briscoe chopped his way free of another chokeslam before kicking Archer into the post. Briscoe hit a blockbuster off the apron and fired up, hitting a Death Valley Driver and a Froggy Bow for a nearfall. Archer powered out of the Jay Driller and had a flurry of offense, ending with a Bossman Slam for a nearfall.

Archer took Briscoe up for a superplex, but Briscoe knocked him down and hit a Froggy Bow. Archer kicked out at one, so Briscoe followed up with a sliding lariat and another Froggy Bow for the win and the second spot in tomorrow’s Continental Championship match.

The Learning Tree was backstage. Chris Jericho spoke on how the Conglomeration worked together as a well-oiled unit, but Tomohiro Ishii had to go back to Japan. They talked about how time was a valuable commodity, and that time ran out for everyone. The camera panned down to show a beaten Ishii laying at Jericho’s feet, with a chair around his neck. Jericho said sayonara to Ishii.

Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) defeated Iron Savages (Bronson & Boulder) (w/ Jacked Jameson)

The Veterans started by chopping down Boulder at the knee. Boulder took both men over with a double suplex, but Drake cut down the Transformer Slam with a chop block. They both sent Boulder to the floor and after surviving a Bronson flurry, they dropped Bronson across the ropes with a double Hotshot. The Vets hit a High-Low for the win.

After the match, FTR came out. They brawled with the Vets, forcing them to bail out. Jacked Jameson raised FTR’s hands and ate a Shatter Machine for his troubles.

We got a video package hyping the International Championship match between PAC & Will Ospreay tomorrow night at All Out.

Orange Cassidy was backstage with Lexy Nair. He said that Kyle O’Reilly was taking care of Ishii, and that he would punch Bryan Keith for what the Learning Tree did to Ishii. Then, he would win the Continental Championship tomorrow night and put it in his backpack next to his $7,000 in cash. A bit of advice, don’t leave that bag around Logan Square.

Continental Contenders Challenge Match with $7,000 of Cassidy’s Money On The Line – Orange Cassidy defeated Bryan Keith

Another good match, with Cassidy joining Briscoe in the Continental Title match. This would have been a good spot to have Bryan Keith get an upset win to build up the budding feud between the Conglomeration and the Learning Tree. I didn’t think either man was winning the title tomorrow night, but a win for Keith in a spot like this would have been a marquee win for him at this point of his career.

If Keith wins this match, Cassidy will reimburse Chris Jericho for his $7,000 suit jacket that he ruined on a 2020 episode of Dynamite, on top of earning a shot at the Continental Championship tomorrow night at All Out.

Cassidy shot out of his corner, sending Keith to the floor with a dropkick and following with a trio of dives. Cassidy ran Keith into the barricades, but Keith was able to throw Cassidy’s right hand – his Orange Punch hand – into the stairs. After a commercial, Cassidy made his hands-free comeback. The two jockeyed for position before Cassidy hit a Penalty Kick. Keith rolled through and hit an Exploder Suplex.

Keith hit a rising headbutt to Cassidy on the top rope. Cassidy fought Keith off, but Keith hit an Exploder into the turnbuckle and followed with a Michinoku Driver for a nearfall. Keith hit a pair of arm wringers, but Cassidy turned it into an inside cradle for a nearfall. Cassidy hit the Stundog Millionaire and a Beach Break for a nearfall.

Cassidy went for an Orange Punch, but Keith blocked it and hit a knee for a nearfall. Keith went for a running knee, but Cassidy caught him with an Orange Punch and a tornado DDT. Cassidy hit a Deep Impact DDT off the top rope for the win.

Chris Jericho was backstage, outside of Orange Cassidy’s locker room. Jericho has absconded – that means stolen – Cassidy’s backpack, and said he’ll keep it until Cassidy pays his debts. The backpack was empty, so I guess Orange was going to hit up the ATM after the show.

Mercedes Mone & Kamille were backstage with Lexy Nair. She wondered why Vice Principal Christopher Daniels was getting in her business and warned that Kamille wasn’t banned from the building tonight.

The Outrunners (w/ Erica Leigh) defeated Davey Bang & August Matthews

AEW may not have as many world-class tag teams as they used to have, but they have a solid division of teams. Getting teams like the Outrunners, Top Flight, and Private Party somewhat credible can generate some more energy in the currently stagnant tag team division.

The announcers noted that the Outrunners, who got a big pop on their entrance, had never won on television. That changed tonight, as they quickly hit a double-team powerslam called the Total Recall for the win.

Continental Contenders Challenge Match – Konosuke Takeshita (w/ Don Callis) defeated The Beast Mortos

An absolute slugfest, and one I would suggest you go out of your way to watch. Both of these men are fantastic talents on this roster that I would push harder as AEW homegrowns, for lack of a better term. Takeshita in particular is truly unbelievable, and he needs to start circling the top of these cards sooner than later.

The two rammed into each other with shoulder blocks to start. You would think Mortos would have the advantage when it came to ramming people. Takeshita sent Mortos to the floor and hit a tope. Takeshita clubbered on Mortos on the floor before throwing him back in the ring, where Mortos popped Takeshita before hitting his tornado tornillo. Back in the ring, Takeshita and Mortos battled on the top rope before Takeshita hit a superplex as we went to a commercial.

Mortos hit a reverse Slingblade and a headbutt as we came back from the break. Mortos hit a Bane-style backbreaker, then followed with a pop-up Samoan Drop for a nearfall. Takeshita dumped Mortos on his head with a German suplex, then followed with a Blue Thunder Bomb for a nearfall. They battled for positioning on the top rope again before Mortos dumped Takeshita off the top rope with a Gorilla Press for a nearfall.

Takeshita sidestepped a spear, but a second attempt scored. Takeshita fired out at a one count and hit a World Class elbow, but Mortos came back with a spinning lariat. Both men headbutted each other down. Takeshita countered another pop-up Samoan Drop with a crucifix bomb, then hit the jumping knee and the Raging Fire falcon arrow for the win.

AEW Women’s Champion Mariah May was backstage. She said that she hasn’t shaken any hands in the locker room, because she knows the best way to get to know a woman is by making them scream at her feet. Her words, not mine. She still hasn’t held her title celebration and intimated holding it at All Out. She said that the shame about being Mariah May is that she would never be able to meet Mariah May.

Hikaru Shida defeated Deonna Purrazzo

The two got in an early pinning predicament before Purrazzo sent Shida shoulder-first into the turnbuckle as we went to a commercial. After the break, Shida came back with a second rope dropkick. Shida got the counter punches in the corner before hitting a running knee for a nearfall. Purrazzo moved out of the way of a double stomp and hit a La Mistica, then got a nearfall off of a powerbomb.

Purrazzo went for a running boot, but Shida caught her in a Stretch Muffler. The two traded boots before Shida hit a Falcon Arrow for a nearfall. Shida hit the Katana for the win. The announcers noted that Shida could be the first woman to win both the World and TBS Titles.

After the match, Mercedes Mone came out. She ran distraction as Kamille jumped Shida from behind. Mone went to attack Shida with the kendo stick, but Shida ducked and caused Kamille to get hit with the stick. It was the one thing they didn’t want to happen. Shida fought them both off and hit Mone with the Katana to stand tall before the PPV.

FTR was backstage with Alicia Atout. They made the challenge to the Grizzled Young Veterans for next week’s Collision in Dayton, Ohio.

The Acclaimed were backstage with Lexy Nair. Max Caster noted that none of the top teams in the division have beaten them and that the road to the tag team titles still runs through them. MxM Collection interrupted them to hype their match on Rampage, then told the Acclaimed to get some fashion tips from them. Billy Gunn interrupted their touching of tips as Anthony Bowens said that only one team did finger stuff in AEW.

All Star Match of Champions – AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson & AEW World Trios Champions Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, & PAC defeated The Elite (TNT Champion Jack Perry, Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada, & AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks)

I hope you packed a lunch folks, because this was a long one. I don’t have an official time, but I would be stunned if this match went less than thirty minutes. They missed the peak by a few minutes, but as an all-star champions showcase, it was a fun use of the time.

They teased Okada starting with Danielson, but Okada tagged Perry in. Perry baited Danielson into the Elite corner and laid in the stomps, but once Matthew tagged in, Danielson took him into the BCC corner. Both teams cycled through tags before we got a Pier Six brawl in the ring and quadruple counter punches. The Elite saved Perry from getting his head kicked in as we went to the final commercial break of Collision.

Back from the break, the Elite had PAC under control in their corner. After another melee, The Elite held up the Trios Champions for a Nick Jackson senton onto all three for a nearfall on PAC. PAC was your Geordie-in-peril, getting worked on for several minutes before getting to his corner to tag Castagnoli. Castagnoli ran wild alongside Yuta, but Nicholas cut them off with superkicks before an assisted Sliced Bread got a nearfall.

Okada tagged in and toyed with Castagnoli before they traded uppercuts. Castagnoli countered a Tombstone attempt by deadlifting Okada up for a suplex. Danielson and Perry tagged in, with Perry fighting off a flurry of kicks with a claw to the eyes. We got a move train ending with a Danielson missile dropkick to Perry off the top rope. Danielson laid in Yes Kicks as the Collision show ended.

We missed nothing in the one second of transition, as another move train ended with Yuta taking two superkicks and a Tombstone for a nearfall broken up by the BCC. We got a dive train ending with Okada flipping off Chicago. PAC sent Okada to the outside and hit a Fosbury Flop. PAC came back into the ring with a springboard 450 to Okada for a nearfall.

The BCC team controlled Okada in their corner as we went to our first Rampage commercial of the third hour. Okada went for a Tombstone, but Castagnoli reversed it, leading to a triple Tombstone from the Trios Champions. Okada back-dropped out of the Neutralizer, but Castagnoli caught a Nicholas crossbody leading into an assisted crossbody of his own.

Perry broke up a Rocket Launcher attempt, then ran away from Danielson as he chased him to the back. The Bucks hit the EVP Trigger on Yuta for a nearfall. The Bucks went for the TK Driver, but Castagnoli caught a launching Nicholas and took him on the Giant Swing. Yuta hit a dropkick for the sudden stop and got the pin on Jackson ahead of the BCC’s tag team title challenge.

The Outrunners were backstage with Lexy Nair. They were excited about their win before Jon Moxley & Marina Shafir came down the stairs behind them and killed them dead.

Queen Aminata defeated Missa Kate

Matt Menard joined the commentary team for Rampage duties. Serena Deeb watched from the back at a relatively normal angle as Aminata won this one quickly with the Brain Drain headbutt.

We got a video package of the history between Daniel Garcia & MJF ahead of their match tomorrow night.

Hologram & ROH World Tag Team Champions Dustin Rhodes & Sammy Guevara defeated The Dark Order (Evil Uno, Alex Reynolds, John Silver)

Hologram and Evil Uno started, with Hologram evading him to start. Guevara allowed Hologram to use him as a base to launch into a tornado DDT. After a commercial, Rhodes got a hot tag and ran wild before the Dark Order shut them down. The Premier Athletes were watching backstage. They triple-teamed Hologram, but Hologram evaded the Ragnarok. Guevara and Hologram hit stereo dives off of the ring posts, and the tecnicos got the win after a Hologram 450 splash.

The Bang Bang Gang were backstage. Juice Robinson noted that they needed momentum before Austin Gunn wanted them to give him a nickname. Cage of Agony entered the frame, and after the Bang Bang Gang brought up beating them for the ROH Six Man Titles way back when, Cage said that was only because they were teaming with the Acclaimed and had six people in their trio. They’ll be having a match.

Lexy Nair was backstage, where she announced that there would be a three-way trios match on the All Out Zero Hour with big money implications. Two of the teams were Top Flight & Shane Taylor Promotions…with The Beast Mortos. The Undisputed Kingdom entered the frame, wondering why their buddy Mortos was with STP, with Taylor saying that he followed the money. The Kingdom said that they were the third team and insulted Top Flight’s nifty pilot outfits. Top Flight said that they would win.

House Of Black (Brody King & Buddy Matthews) defeated MxM Collection (Mansoor & Mason Madden)

I was ready to bury MxM Collection under the earth with the goofy judges, but King killing them quickly spared my wrath. After that, this was a good tag match. Like I said earlier, AEW has a lot of talented pairings and can make as many as they need to with the roster that they have. It’s a matter of consistently showcasing them in higher-profile spots. Why can’t King and Matthews get a tag title eliminator on a Dynamite, or MxM get one on a Collision?

MxM came out with three judges to rate their poses. I thought they only had ten cards to rate MxM, but they gave Matthews a three when he did a move. The big men tagged in, only for Mansoor to tag back in and give a chop to King. King responded with a chop that got a good score, and as Mansoor was yelling at the judges, King killed all of these goofs with a crossbody.

MxM had the advantage on Matthews after the commercial until Matthews drilled Mansoor with a jumping knee. The crowd erupted with MEAT chants as the big men tagged in and traded shots. King sent Madden into the corner with a throw, then hit a cannonball for a nearfall. King tried to choke Mansoor on the apron, but Mansoor dropped King with a jawbreaker before hitting him with a leftover chair from the judges. Madden hit a chokeslam for a nearfall.

Matthews tagged in and ran wild. After maneuvering around the top rope, Matthews sent Madden to the floor, where King followed him out with a dive. Matthews took Mansoor off the top rope with a superplex before sending him into Dante’s Inferno from King for the win.

Will Ospreay was backstage. Ospreay said that he was feeling as good as he could feel after getting a poisonrana on a stage and a brainbuster on a packing crate. Ospreay had been getting compared to PAC all throughout his career, through the backyards, the British independents, and Japan. Ospreay referenced the thirty-minute time-limit draw the two had at Revolution Pro Wrestling five years ago, and said that he hadn’t forgotten about PAC. No one forgot about PAC, he had just been in this position so many times that maybe the people had lost faith in him. PAC had 24 hours on the clock to change that.

AEW Collision live results: Orange Cassidy vs. Kyle O’Reilly

Orange Cassidy and Kyle O’Reilly are set to face off on tonight’s live AEW Collision from Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Both participated this week in a four-way to determine the next challenger for Will Ospreay’s AEW International Championship. Rey Fenix pinned Jay Lethal in the match, earning the shot against Ospreay this Wednesday. Cassidy and O’Reilly will battle to determine the winner between themselves.

FTR will look to get back to their winning ways as they face Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta. Making his return on this past Wednesday’s Dynamite after being out with an injury most of the year, Yuta (the ROH Pure Champion) scored the winning fall in an eight-man tag match, giving him some momentum.

Other bouts will see AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm take on Lady Frost in a non-title match, Dustin Rhodes against Johnny TV, Kris Statlander vs. Robyn Renegade, and Daniel Garcia against Tate Mayfairs.

Our live coverage kicks off at 8 PM Eastern.

**********

Sir Elton John welcomed us to Collision from Council Bluffs, Iowa, just outside of Omaha, Nebraska. Tony Schiavone & Nigel McGuinness were on the call as the entrances began for the opener.

FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) vs. Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta) ended in a time-limit draw

(A rare time-limit draw to start the show, an interesting call with these teams. You figure that Yuta would take the fall as FTR was just in the PPV main event, but that wasn’t the case. I expect there to be grumbling about Elite stooge Cutler coming out after the match, but him taking the heat for denying the extension to the match is a smart way to avoid anyone in the match getting the heat for saying no. It also gave the crowd a pop to avoid ending that segment on a dour note. Pretty good opening to the show.)

If you squint, Harwood looks like Tomohiro Ishii in his new gear. After an opening exchange, Castagnoli hammered Harwood with an uppercut. The crowd gave support to both teams as Harwood starched Castagnoli with a chop. Castagnoli got the upper hand and tagged in Yuta, but a Wheeler distraction on a flying headscissors attempt gave FTR the upper hand.

After a short control segment, Yuta fought to his corner to tag in Castagnoli, who ran wild with uppercuts before getting a nearfall on Harwood with a big boot. Wheeler cut off a pair of Giant Swing attempts, but Castagnoli snatched him up in a Sharpshooter. Harwood caught Yuta in a Sharpshooter, and Castagnoli and Harwood traded slaps while holding submissions. They stood up and traded strikes before the match broke down into a Pier Six brawl as we went to commercial.

Castagnoli hit an avalanche gutwrench suplex on Harwood for a nearfall as we came back from the break. The two traded covers before Harwood dropped Castagnoli with a main event spinebuster. Harwood pulled Castagnoli up for the Powerplex, but Castagnoli got his knees up on Wheeler’s splash. Yuta went for a splash on Harwood but caught knees as well. As the match reset, FTR went for a Shatter Machine, but Yuta cut it off. That allowed Castagnoli to take Wheeler on the Giant Swing before Yuta cut him down with a dropkick for a nearfall.

Castagnoli went for a Neutralizer, but Wheeler fought out and caught him with a Shatter Machine for a nearfall broken up by Yuta. Wheeler locked on a Sharpshooter, but Castagnoli reversed it into a Sharpshooter of his own. Wheeler got to the ropes so Castagnoli hit Harwood with a Neutralizer. Wheeler hit Castagnoli with a piledriver for a nearfall before Bobby Cruise announced one minute remaining in the time limit. Castagnoli hit a superplex and a Neutralizer for a nearfall. Castagnoli locked on a crossface before transitioning into the Rings of Saturn, but the time limit expired.

Harwood grabbed the mic and demanded five more minutes, but Brandon Cutler came out on behalf of the Young Bucks. He said that the request was denied, as the contract specifically noted that the match had a 20-minute time limit. As he got in the ring to show them the contract, Castagnoli snatched him up in the Giant Swing, then vaulted him into a Shatter Machine. Castagnoli took the mic and said that while he wouldn’t shake their hands because of how cliché it is, they would finish their fight whenever and wherever FTR wanted.

Kyle O’Reilly was backstage with Lexy Nair. He was quickly interrupted by Roderick Strong & The Kingdom. Strong told O’Reilly that he had been good, but he was missing something. O’Reilly said that they’ve been down this road before and that he didn’t want their help, but Strong told O’Reilly to just remember what he told them when he returned from injury.

Kris Statlander (w/Stokely Hathaway) defeated Robyn Renegade

(An effective segment here for Statlander, with a clearly stated goal of winning the Owen Cup. Will Willow Nightingale take issue with that? Probably, they are feuding after all.)

Statlander had a new entrance, with a Hathaway voiceover noting that it was “Stat-urday Night.” Statlander won this match decisively with the Saturday Night Fever, doing a few push-ups after the match for emphasis.

Hathaway took the microphone and put over Statlander’s athleticism and intensity. Hathaway said that she would make history as the first woman to win both the TBS and Women’s World Championships. Hathaway announced that Statlander was the first entrant in the 2024 Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournament. Statlander would win the tournament and win the Women’s Title at Wembley Stadium because nobody could stop her.

After a commercial, Lexy Nair was waiting to get words from Willow Nightingale on the Kris Statlander situation. Nightingale announced her entry in the Owen Cup and hoped to see Statlander there. When asked why she was here tonight, Nightingale said she would keep an eye on the action.

Dustin Rhodes defeated Johnny TV (w/Taya Valkyrie)

Johnny had a good night last week against Claudio Castagnoli. He had a bad night tonight. Meanwhile, Dustin Rhodes did a great job of building up the Jack Perry match for Dynamite.

Rhodes spooked Taya on the floor before cannonballing into Johnny off the apron. Taya distracted Rhodes to give Johnny time to hit a corkscrew dive onto Rhodes. After a break, Rhodes fired up and hit the running bulldog and a powerslam for a nearfall. Johnny hit a neckbreaker for a nearfall, but Rhodes reversed an Alabama Slam into a Canadian Destroyer.

Rhodes hit the Shattered Dreams and the Cross Rhodes, but Taya put Johnny’s foot on the ropes. Rhodes confronted Taya and got her ejected from ringside, but that allowed Johnny to crotch Rhodeson the ropes – while kicking the wrong rope. Johnny went for Starship Pain, but Rhodes moved and hit a Shining Wizard. Rhodes hit the Final Cut for the win.

Rhodes took the mic and thanked the fans for sticking by him for over three decades. He thanked the production crew and Tony Khan for giving him the opportunity to speak here tonight. He then spoke on Jack Perry, a subject that pissed him off. They missed him when he left and were excited to see him back before he attacked Tony Khan.

He said that Perry was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and had no clue what sacrifice meant. Sacrifice was getting fired from a job and taking two more jobs to make ends meet. Rhodes said that Perry was mediocre because he was a follower, not a leader. Quoting his father, when you are a follower, the view never changes. He announced that it would be Dustin Rhodes vs. Jack Perry on Dynamite, and that he would destroy Perry.

We got a video package highlighting the chiseled jaw and the technical ability of Zack Sabre Jr. In a voiceover, Sabre said he was coming to Forbidden Door to take care of some unfinished business from last year when he challenged for the International Championship. He challenged Orange Cassidy to a match for Forbidden Door.

The Premier Athletes (Tony Nese & Ari Daivari) (w/ Smart Mark Sterling) defeated Trent Jordy & Dante Leon

We got a recap of the Premier Athletes run-in with Hook & Samoa Joe on Dynamite. Dante Leon is a former GHC Jr. Heavyweight Champion in Pro Wrestling NOAH, so this is technically a Forbidden Door entry. That didn’t help him here, as Nese pinned Jordy with Greetings From Asbury Park.

Scorpio Sky was backstage. He said that all of our heroes had fallen and that he would stand on the backs of those fallen heroes to become our champion.

Toni Storm (w/Luther & Mariah May) defeated Lady Frost

(The story here was Storm entering May into the Owen Cup, where the winner gets a shot at Storm’s title. If you did your homework and watched All About Eve, you would know that Storm may have just kissed her title goodbye.)

We got a recap of the run-ins Storm has had with her Forbidden Door opponent Mina Shirakawa this week, including the uneasy handshake forced by Mariah May on last night’s Rampage. Storm drilled Frost with a hip attack after a commercial, but Frost kicked out. Frost caught Storm with a cartwheeling Air Raid Crash. Storm cut off the Frostbite and hit a backstabber before scoring a nearfall with a Tree Slam. Storm countered another cartwheel into a Storm Zero for the win.

Storm took to the mic and sat with May on the apron. She noted how awkward the whole situation with Shirakawa must be for her, but Storm wants to give May all the opportunities that she deserves. She demanded that May get a spot in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Storm said that she would be there for her the whole way.

Top Flight & Shane Taylor Promotions were backstage with Lexy Nair. Next week, on the one-year anniversary of Collision, Dante Martin & Lee Moriarty will wrestle in a TNT Title Ladder Match qualifier. Martin noted that he was Moriarty’s first match in AEW, and the result would be the same. Moriarty said that the last time they wrestled, Moriarty won. Taylor called Top Flight glorified stuntmen, noting that Andretti was the only one of them with any heart.

Hook & Samoa Joe were backstage. I believe Katsuyori Shibata was behind the camera as I heard his Google Translator. They discussed lacrosse before jumping the Premier Athletes in their locker room.

Daniel Garcia defeated Tate Mayfairs

(Daniel Garcia has said over the past few weeks that he wants to challenge for the International Championship, specifically calling out Will Ospreay in the process. Fun fact: Dynamite and Collision will be in Garcia’s hometown of Buffalo, New York the week before Forbidden Door.)

Matt Menard was on commentary here, as always with Garcia matches. Mayfairs is a Progress Wrestling regular, with McGuinness noting that he watched him have a half-hour classic with Will Ospreay at Super Strong Style 16 last year. Mayfairs had the upper hand to start, but Garcia got his feet under him and got the win a lifting lungblower he calls the Red Cross.

We got a video package on Mercedes Mone’s opponent for Dynamite, Zeuxis. Excalibur explained that she made history in CMLL by winning the CMLL Women’s Tag Team Titles alongside Stephanie Vaquer, who will face Mone at Forbidden Door. Tony Khan explained on social media that if Mone loses the title to Zeuxis, the match at Forbidden Door between Mone & Vaquer will only be for the NJPW Strong Women’s Title.

We got a rundown of the card for Dynamite, with Jack Perry vs. Dustin Rhodes in a TNT Title Ladder match qualifier made official. We got a rundown of next week’s Collision, which is the show’s one-year anniversary. We will get a Christian Cage Father’s Day Celebration, the return of the House of Black, and Deonna Purrazzo vs. Thunder Rosa in a No-DQ match.

Orange Cassidy was backstage with Lexy Nair. He was frustrated that all his friends were gone and trying to hurt him, and now he’s got Zack Sabre Jr. knocking down his door for Forbidden Door. He left for the main event.

Orange Cassidy defeated Kyle O’Reilly

(This was an awesome match to main event this show. Cassidy proved that he could go toe-to-toe with a high-level technician ahead of his match with Zack Sabre Jr. at Forbidden Door. Meanwhile, O’Reilly’s story of being good, but not good enough continues. Cassidy’s lament in his promo about no one helping him out paid off here too, with O’Reilly and Willow making the save for him. A quality main event.)

The Undisputed Kingdom were in the crowd rooting O’Reilly on, as Schiavone noted that the Kingdom have jumped O’Reilly multiple times in the last few months. Cassidy escaped O’Reilly’s initial holds with his sloth-like movements. O’Reilly snatched up a double wristlock before Cassidy got to the ropes. The two got into a pinning predicament before O’Reilly locked on a grounded Octopus Stretch that forced Cassidy to the ropes.

After a commercial, the two traded and transitioned holds before Cassidy caught O’Reilly in a European Clutch for a nearfall. O’Reilly fought to keep Cassidy’s hands out of his pockets, but Cassidy succeeded in his endeavors there. O’Reilly chopped down Cassidy with kicks before working on Cassidy’s arm. O’Reilly ended up on the floor near the Kingdom, where Strong whispered something to him. O’Reilly then sent Cassidy into the barricade with a Dragon Screw. O’Reilly hit another Dragon Screw in the ring as we went to commercial.

After the commercial, Cassidy took repeated strikes before firing up and going after O’Reilly’s arm. The two traded German suplexes until they both collapsed. Both men traded low-impact kicks before turning up the violence. Cassidy went for the Stundog Millionaire, but O’Reilly caught the arm in an armbar attempt. Cassidy stuffed it by stuffing his hand in his pocket, then caught O’Reilly with a Michinoku Driver for a nearfall.

O’Reilly ducked a Penalty Kick and hit a big forearm, but Cassidy came back with a Penalty Kick. O’Reilly countered the Orange Punch, putting his hand in Cassidy’s pocket so he couldn’t counter the choke O’Reilly applied. Cassidy fought to his feet and hit the Beach Break for a nearfall. Orange went for the Orange Punch, but the leg gave way. Cassidy was able to hit a short-range Orange Punch, then caught a rebounding O’Reilly with a full-strength Orange Punch for the win.

After the match, Trent Beretta & Kyle Fletcher jumped Cassidy. O’Reilly came back to try to help Cassidy, but he got beat down too. Kris Statlander came out and shook hands with Beretta before going after Cassidy, but Willow Nightingale came out to a huge reaction to run her off.

AEW Collision live results: Swerve Strickland speaks, Tony Khan update

Swerve Strickland’s first interview as AEW World Champion will take place on Collision.

Strickland, who defeated Samoa Joe at AEW Dynasty last weekend to become champion, will have his first interview on Saturday after defeating Kyle Fletcher in a title eliminator match on Dynamite.

The AEW Unified Trios titles will also be on the line as new champions Bullet Club Gold (Jay White & The Gunns) will defend against Top Flight and Action Andretti. BCG unified the titles at Dynasty, defeating The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn to unify the ROH Six-Man titles and the AEW Trios titles.

Max Caster & Anthony Bowens will also be in action, taking on the debuting Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake and Zack Gibson).

AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm will also be in non-title action, taking on Anna Jay after Storm made the save for Mariah May on Dynamite.

This week’s show airs immediately after the NBA playoffs on TNT, followed by a live Rampage.

After the Boston Celtics absolutely bludgeoned my Miami Heat, Collision started with a recap of Swerve Stickland winning the AEW World Title at Dynasty. Sir Elton John took the week off, as Strickland entered Daily’s Place to start the show. Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness were on the call.

Swerve Strickland Town Hall

Prince Nana introduced Strickland as the boss of bosses, the Anointed One in professional wrestling, and one hell of a wrestler. Strickland ran down the happenings of the last week in AEW, spending particular time on Jack Perry and The Elite’s beatdown of Tony Khan. Strickland said that he did some bad things, but jumping a non-wrestler was a b*tch move. He said a lot of people could call themselves the best in the world, but the real best in the world was the man with the belt around his waist.

Strickland said that being the best came with sacrifices. His oldest daughter said that she was happy for him but felt like she didn’t know him. He couldn’t make up for lost time, but he could blaze a trail as World Champion and make sure the sacrifices were worth it. Strickland said that he felt like making history tonight, so he issued an open challenge for the World Title tonight. Strickland said he was the leader of the new era of AEW, the Dynasty Era of AEW when Claudio Castagnoli entered the scene.

Castagnoli accepted Strickland’s challenge, telling him that it would become his house tonight.

(Good promo from Swerve, as he felt like a leader and a top star here. The impromptu title match here is out of the ordinary, but since this show has the potential to be in front of a much larger audience off of the NBA playoff game, I understand the move.)

We got a video package on The Elite’s beatdown of Tony Khan on Dynamite. Tony Schiavone gave the update that Khan had suffered head and neck injuries. He could work and run the show in person tonight, but doctors have not cleared him to travel. He would work on AEW business remotely from Jacksonville until he’s cleared, leading McGuinness to wonder if the Young Bucks could end up with decision-making power if things came up during the shows. Schiavone scoffed at the notion.

AEW Unified Trios Title Match – Bang Bang Gang (Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn & Jay White) (c) defeated Action Andretti & Top Flight (Dante Martin & Darius Martin)

This was a solid opener. Andretti and Top Flight have slotted into this position as exciting first challengers, although I hope they don’t get pigeonholed into this role. They’re exciting AEW originals and could be useful to titles like these. Meanwhile, White & The Gunns move forward as champions capable of having good matches like this one.

White wanted this match after he felt that Dante Martin cost him the Casino Gauntlet Match on Dynamite. The announcers ran down the card as White and Dante started, noting that Rush would make his return to AEW tonight. Bullet Club isolated Dante until he could evade his way to a tag to Darius. Darius ran wild on Austin Gunn until White cut him off on the floor with a clothesline and a gourdbuster on the apron as we went to the commercial.

White held serve on Darius as we came back from the break. Darius evaded his way to his corner, where he tagged Andretti. Andretti ran wild on both Gunns, hitting a Spanish Fly on Austin for a nearfall. Bullet Club tried to make space on the outside, but Dante vaulted off of Andretti onto the pile. Top Flight hit a tag team tornado DDT on Austin, leading to an Andretti standing Shooting Star for a nearfall.

White cut off Andretti on the top rope, then caught Dante with a uranage. Darius rolled through another uranage but ran into a 3:10 To Yuma. White was left alone with Andretti, eventually catching him with a Blade Runner to score the win and retain the titles.

We got a recap of the ladder match at Dynasty, where Jack Perry interfered to help the Young Bucks win. Schiavone noted that FTR was out tonight, recovering from the injuries accrued during the ladder match.

We got a video package from the House of Black, noting that their match against Adam Copeland’s team went exactly as they wanted it to. They accepted Copeland’s Cope Open for next week in Winnipeg, telling him that he would find out who he’ll specifically be wrestling when the bell rings.

(I normally don’t like deals like that, but since it’s an open challenge, it still works logically.)

Rey Fenix defeated The Beast Mortos

Great to see both of these guys on AEW TV. I’ve loved Mortos’s work for a long time, and I’m excited to see him work on a big stage. Meanwhile, Fenix coming back adds to an already unbelievably stacked roster.

This is Fenix’s first match since October when he lost the International Championship to Orange Cassidy on Dynamite. Mortos is the renamed Black Taurus, for those wondering. The two traded chops before Mortos sent Fenix rolling to the floor with a powerslam. Mortos followed Fenix outside with a corkscrew tope.

Schiavone noted that Fenix has held singles, tag, and trios titles in AEW, leading to a plug for Kenny Omega’s appearance on next week’s Dynamite as he was the only other person in company history to do that. Mortos sent Fenix flying with a lariat and a crucifix bomb for a nearfall. Mortos spun on a reverse figure four, damaging the lower body that put Fenix on the shelf. Fenix escaped to the floor but Mortos clubbered him on the outside.

Mortos continued the beatdown on Fenix in the ring until after the break where Fenix popped out of the corner with a headscissors. Fenix hit his rope-rebound kick for a one-count nearfall before hammering Mortos with head kicks. Fenix muscled up Mortos for a gutbuster but hurt his beaten-up knees in the process. Fenix stood on Mortos’ shoulders before hitting a back kick to his head, but Mortos cut off a springboard move with a hard spear.

Mortos missed a corner charge and flew to the floor, leading to Fenix hitting a step-up corkscrew dive to the floor. Mortos came back with a tombstone lungblower before hitting a Widow’s Peak for a nearfall. Fenix nipped up and hit a trio of thrust kicks before hitting his ropewalk kick and a fifth thrust kick. Fenix went to the top rope and hit the frog splash for a nearfall. Mortos caught Fenix on a roll-through, but Fenix wheelbarrowed through into a flash pin to score the win.

We got a video package detailing Trent Beretta’s turn on Orange Cassidy and Chuck Taylor’s Parking Lot Fight challenge. We cut to Orange Cassidy backstage with a new interviewer, telling her that he was worried about what they were going to do to each other. Kris Statlander entered the frame and told Cassidy they needed to be there, so Cassidy left for the parking lot.

Rush defeated Martin Stone

Speaking of additions to the roster, Rush was very impressive in 2023 before his injury in the Continental Classic. Glad to see him back, as the roster gets another useful piece back off of the injured list.

Rush sent Stone up and over with a quick German suplex before sending him into the barricades on the floor. Rush took the official’s attention by throwing a chair into the ring, allowing him to whip Stone with a TV cable on the floor. Rush fired Stone into the corner with an overhead throw before knocking him down with a jumping forearm. Rush hit the Bull’s Horns to score the quick win. After the match, Rush hammered Stone with another forearm before hitting the Bull’s Horns again.

We got a recap of Anna Jay’s post-match attack on Mariah May from Dynamite, leading to Toni Storm making the save and Serena Deeb making a challenge. We cut to Deeb with the new interviewer Arkady, where she said that she was the obvious #1 contender to the title having been undefeated in 2024. It was time to prove how good everyone thought she was and win the AEW Women’s Championship.

(Deeb’s promos used to be a real issue for her, but she’s been a solid talker since she returned.)

Toni Storm (w/ Mariah May & Luther) defeated Anna Jay

Storm continues to leave the gimmick outside of the bells and wrestle straight-up. A promising pivot.

The two traded headlocks before Jay hit a spin kick in the corner. Jay hit a hip attack, angering Storm to hit a Thesz Press and hip attacks of her own. Storm hit a hip attack that sent Jay off the apron into May on the outside. Storm checked on May, which allowed Jay to hit a neckbreaker in the ropes as we went to a commercial.

Storm fired up as we came back from the break, hitting a backstabber and a Fisherman’s Suplex for a nearfall. Jay came back with a Dangerous Jay kick and a Gory Bomb for a nearfall. Storm hit a Tree Slam for a nearfall. Jay hit a Bladerunner and locked on the Queenslayer choke, but Storm powered up and slammed Jay down. Storm hit the hip attack and Storm Zero for the win.

We get a look at the parking lot before cutting to Chuck Taylor in the back. Orange Cassidy comes in with a dog – I’ll assume it’s Taylor’s dog – before Taylor tells him not to interfere in the Parking Lot Fight tonight.

The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster) defeated Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson)

I’ve been following the Grizzled Young Veterans since they came together in Progress. They’ve been a high-level team for a long time, and they showcased why here. Great tag team cohesion led to an excellent debut, and a quality win for the Acclaimed as they get back into the tag team ranks. I hope to see an All Elite graphic for the Veterans by this time next week.

Caster rapped that they would send the Vets back to the Impact Zone, among other things. The Vets started off with an attack on Caster’s arm, but the Acclaimed came back with a sunset flip onto the knees. We got some tag team combinations from both teams, with the Vets isolating Caster as we went to commercial.

Drake laid out Caster with a dive to the outside as we came back from the break. The Vets held Caster back but evaded a Drake kick to get the tag to Bowens. Bowens ran wild until he got cut off with a back elbow. Caster tagged in and ran double-team offense on Drake, hitting the KRS-One for a nearfall. Gibson held Caster in the corner, allowing Drake to hit a dropkick before sending him hard onto the ramp.

Bowens fought two-on-one, but Gibson caught him with a lungblower in the corner. Drake then hit a coast-to-coast while Gibson held him in position for a nearfall. The Vets got in Billy Gunn’s face, firing him up. Caster came back to shove Drake off the ropes, and the Acclaimed hit the Mic Drop to score the win.

We got footage of Katsuyori Shibata & Shane Taylor’s recent history. Shibata was backstage with Arkady, saying that he would chop down The Learning Tree Chris Jericho on Dynamite. When asked about Shane Taylor, Shibata said that he would fight them alone on Rampage. Daniel Garcia came in, saying that Shibata had his respect after their battles for the Pure Championship, and offered his help for tonight. Shibata accepted.

AEW World Championship – Swerve Strickland defeated Claudio Castagnoli to retain

An excellent first defense for Strickland here, as Castagnoli brought Strickland to the absolute brink on a couple of those nearfalls. If this show was meant to highlight Strickland to a larger audience after the playoff game, they did a hell of a job.

The two worked a knuckle lock to start, with both men avoiding stomps on the hand to end the exchange. Castagnoli caught Strickland with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker to take control. The two fought onto the stage where Strickland hit a headscissors onto the ramp before clotheslining Castagnoli into the ring. Strickland hit a crossbody and a trio of neckbreakers, the last one being through the ropes.

The two traded forearms on the apron before Castagnoli necked Strickland on the ropes. Strickland went for a kick on the apron before Castagnoli caught him in gorilla press position and flung him into the wall. Castagnoli followed him in with an uppercut into the wall as we went to a commercial.

After the break, Strickland sent Castagnoli to the apron and kicked him to the floor before hitting the pump kick on the apron. Castagnoli caught Strickland with an uppercut, then mocked Strickland’s Griddy before getting caught with a facebuster by the champion. Castagnoli caught Strickland with a big uppercut, but Strickland got out of a Ricola Bomb and hit a sliding forearm for a nearfall.

Strickland followed Castagnoli to the outside, where Castagnoli elevated him onto the stage. Strickland booted Castagnoli, then flew with a Fosbury Flop off the stage to a big pop. Strickland hit a 450 splash in the ring for a nearfall. Castagnoli came back with a double stomp to Strickland, but it only made the champion mad. The two traded European uppercuts and strikes before Castagnoli laid out Strickland with a lariat.

Strickland rolled Castagnoli into a deadlift suplex before setting up the Swerve Stomp. Strickland hit the Stomp, but Castagnoli kicked out to the shock of the announcers. Strickland went for the House Call, but Castagnoli caught him and took Strickland on the Giant Swing. Castagnoli transitioned into the Sharpshooter and the Crossface. Strickland rolled Castagnoli up, but Castagnoli hit the hammer-and-anvil elbows and a big lariat for a nearfall.

Castagnoli went for the Neutralizer, but Strickland flipped into a DDT. Strickland went up for a Swerve Stomp to a standing Castagnoli, but Castagnoli held Strickland on his shoulders before dropping him into a Swiss Death uppercut for a nearfall. Castagnoli hammered Strickland with uppercuts before Strickland caught one for a backslide attempt. Strickland hit a German suplex and a pump kick before Castagnoli unintentionally popped Strickland up for a standing Swerve Stomp. Strickland hit the House Call to win and mark his first defense of the title.

AEW Collision live results: BCC vs. Don Callis Family Bunkhouse Brawl

Just one day before AEW Dynasty, the Blackpool Combat Club will compete in a Bunkhouse Brawl match on tonight’s AEW Collision as Bryan Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli face Konosuke Takeshita & Kyle Fletcher.

Both Danielson and Castagnoli have been targeted by the Don Callis Family with Takeshita giving Danielson a brain buster on the stage earlier this month.

The Elite (Kazuchika Okada & Young Bucks) will team up to take on PAC & FTR. On Sunday, Okada will defend his AEW Continental title against PAC while the Bucks and FTR will compete for the vacant AEW Tag Team titles.

In a clash of former AEW Tag Team Champions, The Acclaimed take on The Gunns.

TNT Champion Adam Copeland, Eddie Kingston & Mark Briscoe go up against Top Flight & Action Andretti, Skye Blue will take on Leyla Hirsch, and Powerhouse Hobbs will be in action.

This week’s show will be immediately followed by a live Rampage on TNT.

**********

Sir Elton John played us into tonight’s Collision, one day before the Dynasty PPV tomorrow night. Tony Schiavone & Nigel McGuinness were on the call as the TNT Champion kicked off tonight’s show.

Adam Copeland, Mark Briscoe, & Eddie Kingston defeated Top Flight (Dante & Darius Martin) & Action Andretti

A high-octane opener to kick off this three-hour block. It was fun seeing Copeland fit into the multi-man mix.

Andretti used his speed to beat Briscoe to start, but Briscoe dropped him with an elbow out of the corner. Copeland helped Briscoe drop Andretti with double shoulder blocks, but Top Flight teamed up to keep Copeland off balance. Kingston held control of Dante through the commercial, but Darius got the hot tag after the commercial and ran wild.

Andretti and Dante hit dives to the floor, but Briscoe hit a pair of suplexes to cut them off. Andretti hit a standing shooting star press to Kingston for a nearfall that Copeland broke up. All six men dropped each other with clotheslines as the crowd chanted This Is Awesome. Kingston dropped Andretti with a lariat, kicking off a move train that ended with a series of finishers on Andretti. Briscoe hit the Froggy Bow on Andretti to cap off this match, with Kingston scoring the fall.

After the match, the House of Black appeared on the screen. They menaced their opponents for tomorrow night, with Malakai Black saying that they would drag Copeland to the edge of hell.

We got a video package hyping the AEW World Title match between Swerve Strickland & Samoa Joe at Dynasty.

Powerhouse Hobbs defeated CJ Esparza

Esparza was the unfortunate ham-and-egger in Hobbs’s way ahead of his showdown with IWGP World Champion Jon Moxley this Wednesday. Hobbs crushed Esparza with multiple slams on the apron before winning with the Human Torture Rack.

After the match, Don Callis took to the mic and said that his Family was the talk of the wrestling world. He hyped the Bunkhouse match later on, saying he wouldn’t be ringside for his own safety. He took credit for Kenny Omega’s IWGP World Title reign, saying that he had a favor to cash in with New Japan officials. He cashed in his favor, announcing that the Hobbs/Moxley match on Dynamite would now be for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

We got a video package hyping the dream match between Will Ospreay and Bryan Danielson for Dynasty.

We got a recap of the Hook, Chris Jericho, & Taz angle from Dynamite before we heard from Chris Jericho in the back. He said that “the learning tree” would teach him the mistake he made by not accepting his advice, but it would make Hook a better person in the end. It would hurt him more than it hurt Hook to take the FTW Title from him.

The Gunns (Austin & Colten) (w/ Jay White) defeated The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster) (w/ Billy Gunn)

This was a fine TV match, but I’m beyond ready to get the trios titles onto other things.

For the first time in months, Caster got his rap off with no issue. Tony Schiavone got on the mic and said that if the Gunns bailed on this match, the title match tomorrow night would be canceled. We got a Pier Six brawl that took us to the break. After the break, the Gunns traded single-leg crabs to keep control of Caster.

Bowens got the hot tag and ran wild. The Gunns sent the Acclaimed into each other, only for the referee to catch Colten’s trying to leverage his pin with the ropes. Bowens hit a big knee for a nearfall, then hit a Fameasser for another two count. Bowens avoided the 3:10 To Yuma, allowing Caster to get a blind tag. Caster scored with the Death Valley Driver, but Austin cut off the Mic Drop. The Gunns hit the 3:10 To Yuma on Bowens, but Caster came down with the Mic Drop. Colten and Caster were left in the ring, with White helping Colten score the win with the bat.

Bryan Danielson was backstage with Lexy Nair. He said that Don Callis didn’t have confidence in Will Ospreay, which is why Callis sent the Family after him. Danielson felt alive and was excited for the Bunkhouse match tonight and the match against Ospreay tomorrow night. Ospreay entered the frame, noting that he saw Danielson slated for interview time, and told Danielson that he had nothing to do with the attacks. Ospreay didn’t want Danielson to have any excuses for Dynasty. Danielson left unconvinced.

We got video from Toni Storm from after Dynamite. She wanted the video in full color so people could see how Thunder Rosa smeared lipstick all over her face. Storm said that Rosa didn’t want the title back because she never lost it, she wanted the title back because of how important Storm made it. Rosa couldn’t drag her to hell because Storm made love to her demons every night.

Bunkhouse Brawl – Blackpool Combat Club (Bryan Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli) defeated The Don Callis Family (Konosuke Takeshita & Kyle Fletcher)

A great piece of business here. The Callis Family becoming a more frequent part of AEW shows this year has been a great addition to these shows. Danielson gets his revenge on the Family before cutting a hell of a promo to sell the Ospreay match afterward.

The Callis Family got the jump on the BCC during the introductions, leading to a Pier Six brawl through the crowd. The fight came to ringside, where Danielson choked Fletcher with a cable while Takeshita hammered Castagnoli with the ring bell hammer. Castagnoli and Takeshita brawled into the ring, where Castagnoli hit the Giant Swing. Danielson dropkicked Takeshita out of the swing, but Fletcher flung a chair into Danielson’s head to cut off a dive. Fletcher threw powder in Castagnoli’s face before hitting a Last Ride powerbomb for a nearfall.

Danielson avoided another brainbuster on the apron, but Fletcher laid him out again. Castagnoli took Fletcher into the stairs and repeatedly threw his head into them. Danielson was bleeding from the chair shot but laid the middle kicks into Takeshita as the crowd fired up. Danielson set up the Busaiku Knee, but a now bloody Fletcher cut him off. Fletcher and Takeshita booted the BCC before hitting stereo brainbusters for a nearfall.

Takeshita went for a chain-assisted forearm but Danielson cut him off. The BCC caught them both with the hammer-and-anvil elbows before locking on submissions. Powerhouse Hobbs laid out the BCC with main event spinebusters, but Jon Moxley made the save and brawled with him to the back. The Family set up Danielson for a super powerbomb into a chair, but Danielson sent Takeshita into the chair instead. Castagnoli drilled both men with chain-assisted uppercuts before Danielson laid out Fletcher with the Busaiku Knee. Danielson took the chain and wrapped it around Fletcher’s face before locking on the LeBell Lock for the quick win.

Danielson took the mic and said that he knew people wondered why he took this match. Being in a pro wrestling ring was Danielson’s version of heaven, and having guys try to break his neck before one of the biggest matches of his career made him feel alive. He told Will Ospreay that he was going to beat his ass at Dynasty.

We got a recap of the attack on Willow Nightingale from Dynamite. Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale, & Stokely Hathaway were backstage afterward, and they were fired up. Nightingale said that confident champions don’t attack their challengers with chains before title matches. She said she would beat Julia Hart for the TBS Title tomorrow night.

Skye Blue defeated Leyla Hirsch

Blue got a jump start, dropping Hirsch with a boot before dropping Hirsch with a neckbreaker off the apron. Hirsch came back with a wheelbarrow German suplex, but Blue cut her off on the top rope. Hirsch took Blue off the top rope with a German suplex for a nearfall. Hirsch couldn’t complete a springboard move, leading to Blue winning with a Dragon Sleeper.

PAC & FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) defeated The Elite (Kazuchika Okada, Nicholas & Matthew Jackson)

This felt like a New Japan Road To match, where you got a substantial preview of the bigger matches coming up. Awesome stuff, and a nice win for PAC leading into his PPV title match.

The Elite tried the same start to the match that they used on Dynamite, but PAC saw it coming and was able to lay in some shots to Okada. The Bucks pulled Okada to the floor, but a trio of baseball slides kicked off a brawl on the floor. Matthew was able to tag in, but FTR and PAC used quick tags to hold him up. We got a tease of triple submissions on the Elite before the Bucks broke them all up. The Elite went for baseball slides of their own, but they were avoided and the tecnicos took control as we went to picture-in-picture.

After the break, The Elite worked over Harwood after crotching him on the ringpost during the break. PAC got the tag in and ran wild on all three of the Elite, hitting a stuff piledriver on Okada with Harwood for a nearfall. Okada took the referee’s attention as the Bucks took PAC into the ring steps. After another break, PAC fought to make the hot tag to Harwood. Things broke down until it came down to Okada and Harwood in the ring, where Harwood countered the Rainmaker into a Sharpshooter.

The Bucks broke up the Sharpshooter with dual superkicks, then ran trios offense on Harwood, ending with a Matthew top-rope elbow for a nearfall. FTR got Matthew isolated, hitting a Powerplex before setting up PAC for a 450 splash for a nearfall. Things broke down, leading to The Bucks hitting PAC with a Shatter Machine for a nearfall. The Bucks hit the EVP Trigger, but Wheeler broke up the pin. FTR hit Matthew with a Shatter Machine, then cleared the ring for PAC to hit the Black Arrow for the win.

After the match, the Elite jumped them before Daniel Garcia came in to make the save. PAC caught Okada in the Brutalizer, but the Bucks dragged Okada to safety.

AEW Collision live results: Blackpool Combat Club vs. Don Callis Family

The Blackpool Combat Club and the Don Callis Family will clash on tonight’s AEW Collision from Highland Heights, Kentucky, as Bryan Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli will take on Powerhouse Hobbs & ROH TV Champion Kyle Fletcher.

The match comes before next weekend’s AEW Dynasty where Danielson is set to face another Callis Family member, Will Ospreay.

Katsuyori Shibata will take on Lee Moriarty. Shibata teamed with Chris Jericho & Hook on Wednesday’s Dynamite in a losing effort against Shane Taylor, Moriarty & Anthony Ogogo. Moriarty got the pin on Shibata to put this into motion.

An AEW Women’s title eliminator match will take place as champion Toni Storm will take on Stardom’s AZM while The House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King & Buddy Matthews) will face Top Flight (Darius & Dante Martin) and Action Andretti in a trios match.

Tonight’s Collision will be immediately followed by AEW Battle of the Belts X.

Sir Elton John played us into this week’s Collision, live from Highland Heights, Kentucky. Tony Schiavone and Matt Menard were on the call and threw to footage from last night’s NJPW Windy City Riot event in Chicago, where Jon Moxley defeated Tetsuya Naito to become the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion. They announced that Moxley would return to AEW on Wednesday’s edition of Dynamite from Indianapolis.

Bryan Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli were backstage. Danielson talked about Moxley’s win before talking about the BCC’s upcoming schedule. They mocked Don Callis’s instructions to his team, saying that it would be much easier to beat them than it would be to hurt them. Castagnoli said that the hard work they put in when the cameras were off made them tougher and better. Danielson said that they couldn’t be hurt, and they wouldn’t be beat tonight.

House Of Black (Brody King, Buddy Matthews & Malakai Black) defeated Action Andretti, Dante Martin & Matt Sydal

Fun trios action to start the show. Not to gripe about it, but these are the type of matches that the Trios Titles should be centered around.

The commentary noted that Darius Martin of Top Flight was getting his pilot’s license today. Living the gimmick, it would seem. Andretti and Matthews started off as Daniel Garcia vs. Angelico was announced for later tonight. Matthews sent Andretti to the floor as Sydal tagged in. Black tagged in and fought off a double team before King tagged in and ran through all three of their opponents.

After some time on the back foot, Andretti got a tag out to Sydal, who ran wild on the House for a short period before Matthews dropped him across Black’s knees with a powerbomb. After a commercial, Sydal made his way to the corner and tagged Martin. Martin ran wild on Black, ducking a kick from Black and hitting a Pele Kick for a nearfall. Black sent Martin flying with a rising knee, where Andretti tagged in.

Andretti took Matthews out with a dive, but Black landed a moonsault to the floor. Black hammered Andretti with a kick. The House set up Dante’s Inferno, but the flyers hit triple superkicks. All aboard the Move Train, the last stop being Martin breaking up a King pin with a frog splash. Andretti hit a springboard 450 splash, but King kicked out at one. King caught Sydal on a Meteora attempt and crushed him in the corner. The House hit a triple-team corner attack to win, with King scoring the pin over Sydal.

We got a recap of Wednesday’s issues in the women’s division, with Toni Storm’s attack on Thunder Rosa, and Mina Shirakawa’s debut at the aid of her protégé Mariah May. Storm and May were with Lexi Nair in the back. Storm said that she would give her opponent tonight AZM a beating that would be seen in fetish magazines all over the world. I couldn’t make that up if I tried.

We got a recap of the issues between Chris Jericho, Hook, & Katsuyori Shibata that cost them a match against Shane Taylor Promotions on Dynamite. Jericho brought a camera with him after Dynamite to talk to Taz. Jericho asked Taz to put a good word to Hook and tell him that Jericho meant well. Taz said that he would try, and we found out that Taz would facilitate a meeting between the two on Dynamite.

Katsuyori Shibata defeated Lee Moriarty (w/ Shane Taylor & Anthony Ogogo)

Anthony Ogogo joined the commentary team as Shibata and Moriarty grappled on the mat. Moriarty escaped a Figure Four and rolled to the floor, where Ogogo laid a body shot into Shibata as Taylor had the referee’s attention. Shibata rolled into the ring and kicked out of a quick cover but got worked on by Moriarty as we went to a commercial.

After the break, Shibata walked into Moriarty’s chops before drilling him with a forearm. Shibata chopped Moriarty to the mat before hitting a hesitation dropkick in the corner. Ogogo was back on commentary and corrected Schiavone when he brought up his interference – it was a left hook he hit Shibata with, not a jab. The two men traded boots until Shibata countered the Fang with a ripcord slap. Shibata then hit the Penalty Kick for the pin and the win.

Shane Taylor attacked Shibata after the match, bringing out his opponent for Battle of the Belts tonight, Hook. Hook dropped Moriarty with a suplex before Taylor left the ring.

We got a recap of Athena’s most recent ROH Women’s Title defense against Hikaru Shida at Supercard of Honor, as well as a recap of Athena’s protégé Billie Starkz becoming the inaugural ROH Women’s Television Champion. Athena and Starkz were in the back with their friend Lexy Nair. Athena promised to make an example out of Red Velvet tonight and show the world what they had been missing.

Roderick Strong & The Kingdom were backstage with Lexy Nair. Strong took offense to Nair giving credit to Wardlow for their recent success. Strong said he would give Rocky Romero the beating of a lifetime on Battle of the Belts.

Daniel Garcia defeated Angelico (w/ Serpentico)

I’m enjoying seeing Garcia work solid matches like this every week. It’s reminiscent of Bret Hart having solid, quality TV matches as he rose up the card.

Angelico caught an early advantage with a high kick and a La Magistral cradle for a nearfall. Garcia countered an Angelico submission attempt with a Figure Four, which turns into a Boo/Yay sequence as both men reversed the pressure on the hold. They rolled into the ropes before Angelico popped Garcia with a right hand. Garcia hit a neckbreaker as he favored his knee.

Garcia fired up with the ten punches in the corner before hitting a back suplex. Garcia locked on a leg lace submission to score the tap out win.

PAC was backstage, thanking Kazuchika Okada for hitting him with a chair on Wednesday. He now has a perpetual headache that reminds him of Okada. PAC said that while he wasn’t tall, handsome, or the flavor of the month, he was better than Okada and couldn’t wait to prove it at Dynasty.

AEW Women’s World Title Eliminator Match – Toni Storm (w/ Mariah May & Luther) defeated AZM (w/ Anna Jay)

The best Timeless Toni match to date and a fantastic debut for AZM.

The announcers noted AZM’s stats, noting her 450+ day reign as STARDOM High Speed Champion and that she started wrestling at age 11. AZM and Jay came together on Rampage, as they both agreed that Storm and May were stupid. As good of a reason to team as any other. AZM got some chants after a speedy opening exchange that saw her lay out Storm with running kicks. Storm cut AZM off on the apron and sent her flying with a hip attack. May and Jay got into a brawl on the floor that took them to the back. AZM booted Storm from the apron as we went to a commercial.

Storm taunted AZM as we came back from break, with AZM fighting back with forearms. Storm landed a headbutt, but AZM came back with La Mistica and a head kick. AZM hit a leg-trap German suplex as the crowd chanted for both women. AZM drilled Storm with a top rope double stomp for a nearfall. Storm snatched AZM up with a Tree Slam with a nearfall.

AZM caught Storm with a flash pin for a nearfall before Storm dumped her on her head with a German suplex. Storm hit the hip attack and the Storm Zero for the win. After the match, May celebrated with Storm with champagne and cuddling.

Red Velvet was backstage with Lexy Nair. Velvet said she wasn’t scared of Athena and that she would lay Athena out in the Battle of the Belts main event.

Mark Briscoe was backstage. He understood what the House of Black was all about: intimidation. The violent take it by force, and Briscoe, Eddie Kingston, & Adam Copeland were violent people. He told the House of Black to be very afraid.

Tony Schiavone welcomed Thunder Rosa to the stage. Rosa thanked the fans for making her comeback so special and for making AEW what it is today. Rosa told Deonna Purrazzo that she didn’t need her help to win the Women’s Title. She didn’t need help to get her degree, earn her citizenship, or win the title the first time. She thought that Toni Storm was like her, but she’s lost her mind. A part of her died when she had to vacate the title, but she would break every bone in her body to get it back for her people. She told Storm to kiss her clone goodbye because she was going to drag her soul to hell.

(One of the better promos I’ve ever heard Thunder Rosa cut. It really got you on her side and built some much-needed heat for their title match.)

Deonna Purrazzo was backstage. She wouldn’t help Rosa, but she staked her claim for the title because she felt that Toni Storm didn’t embody what it meant to be a World Champion. Purrazzo said that if she couldn’t get one Toni Storm, she might as well get the other. She challenged Mariah May to a match next week and threatened to break her arm.

From the desk, Tony Schiavone announced that the AEW World Tag Team Title match at Dynasty between FTR & The Young Bucks would now be a ladder match.

Kyle Fletcher & Powerhouse Hobbs were backstage. Fletcher said that Will Ospreay would make easy work of Claudio Castagnoli & Bryan Danielson over the next week, while Hobbs made clear that they were ready to pay the fines for what they were going to do to them tonight.

Blackpool Combat Club (Bryan Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli) defeated The Don Callis Family (Kyle Fletcher & Powerhouse Hobbs)

What a main event. These four guys went hell-for-leather for the better part of twenty minutes, making for an exciting and fantastic main event for Collision. This is everything I want wrestling to be, just four dudes going out and beating the hell out of each other. Fletcher & Hobbs may not have won the match, but with the help of Takeshita, their mission of hurting Danielson ahead of Dynasty was accomplished. A must-watch match.

Fletcher & Hobbs got a jump start on Danielson & Castagnoli, leading to a Pier Six brawl around the ring. Hobbs and Castagnoli made their way into the ring and traded shots as commentary announced The Elite vs. PAC, Penta El Zero Miedo, & Daniel Garcia and Mariah May vs. Deonna Purrazzo for Dynamite. Danielson tagged in and worked over Hobbs’s legs, but Hobbs scored on a suplex on Castagnoli before tagging out to Fletcher. Fletcher sent Castagnoli to the floor with a leg lariat, where Hobbs dropped him with a body block.

After a commercial, Castagnoli was fighting for a tag as Fletcher had a rear naked choke on. Castagnoli muscled Fletcher around into a gutwrench suplex before getting the tag to Danielson. Danielson ran wild until he tried to dive on Hobbs, who caught him and slammed him into the apron repeatedly. Danielson countered a powerslam by sending Hobbs into the post. Danielson hit a running knee off the apron before Fletcher leveled him with a flying kick. Castagnoli then flew in with a running uppercut to Fletcher as the crowd went wild. The four men went brawling into the crowd as we went to another commercial.

After the commercial, Fletcher teased a powerbomb on the concrete but Danielson countered with a back body drop. Back in the ring, Danielson countered a superplex attempt by crotching Fletcher on the top buckle. Hobbs took Danielson on his shoulders, but Castagnoli fought Hobbs to the floor. Back on the top rope, Danielson hit the avalanche belly-to-back suplex for a nearfall. Danielson locked on the LeBell Lock, but Hobbs broke it up and tagged in.

They set Danielson up for Ragnarock, but Danielson shoved Hobbs into Fletcher and tagged in Castagnoli. Castagnoli fired off European uppercuts to both men before snatching Hobbs in the Giant Swing. Castagnoli locked on the Sharpshooter and held onto it after some kicks from Fletcher. Fletcher superkicked an interfering Danielson but took a Swiss Death uppercut from Castagnoli. Hobbs caught Castagnoli with a main event spinebuster – in the main event, no less – for a nearfall.

The four men brawled to their feet before Danielson dumped Fletcher to the floor and followed him with a dive. Castagnoli hit a Death Valley Driver for a nearfall. Hobbs shrugged off a clothesline, but a big lariat scored a nearfall for Castagnoli. Fletcher tripped up a running Castagnoli, leading to Hobbs hitting a World’s Strongest Slam, but Danielson broke up the pin.

Hobbs went to hit Danielson with a chair, but the referee took it away. Fletcher dove onto Danielson and cleared the announce table, but Castagnoli took both men out on the floor. Castagnoli hit Fletcher with a Neutralizer in the ring to score the win. After the match, Konosuke Takeshita jumped both men and helped his Callis Family members lay out the BCC. Takeshita laid out Danielson with a brainbuster on the ramp before Castagnoli backed them off with a chair.

AEW Collision live results: Okada & The Young Bucks trios debut

The Elite are set to make their ‘debut’ on this week’s Collision.

Nicholas and Matthew Jackson will team with Kazuchika Okada on Saturday. This will mark the first time the three have teamed together since Wednesday, when The Young Bucks officially recruited Okada into the group, suspending Hangman Page and firing Kenny Omega in the process.

The House of Black will face Mark Briscoe, Jay Lethal, and Jeff Jarrett. After The House of Black laid out the challenge to Briscoe, Lethal offered to team up with him. After Briscoe questioned Jeff Jarrett’s involvement, Lethal said that it was he that Briscoe had to trust, not Jarrett.

Stars from CMLL will also be in action. Chris Jericho will take on Titan, while Mistico will face Angelico. Other matches will see Bryan Danielson face Shane Taylor, Mariah May will face Trish Adora, and Toni Storm will present the first-ever Toni Award.

Join us for live coverage starting at 8 pm ET.

******

Sir Elton John played us in to the first episode of Collision post-Revolution. Tony Schiavone, Nigel McGuinness, and nobody else welcomed us to the show as Bryan Danielson made his entrance for our opening match.

Bryan Danielson defeated Shane Taylor (w/ Lee Moriarty)

An awesome David vs. Goliath match to open this show. Danielson had a plan, stuck to it, and took down the giant. If the last year of both men’s careers has been anything to go by, Ospreay vs. Danielson at Dynasty will be the talk of the pro wrestling world. If you want to know how excited I am for the match, I bought a ticket after the show-closing tease on Dynamite.

Taylor overpowered Danielson to start, talking trash to Danielson while he did it. Danielson transitioned from a Greco-Roman knuckle lock into hammer-and-anvil elbows before trying kicks to Taylor’s leg, but Taylor popped him with a jab and chops in the corners. The two traded position in the corner, landing strikes before Danielson landed a flurry of strikes. Danielson tripped Taylor before sitting on Taylor’s tied-up leg.

Danielson went to work on Taylor’s left leg before Taylor checked a kick and hammered Danielson with an elbow. After a commercial break, Taylor landed a leg drop on the apron for a nearfall. Taylor continued to clubber on Danielson as commentary noted how Danielson knocked out Moriarty in a previous match from years ago. Danielson fired up, going after Taylor’s knee by wrapping it around the ring post.

Danielson landed a shotgun dropkick before peppering Taylor with kicks to the leg. They were back leg front kicks, for anyone wondering. Taylor crumbled to his knees before Danielson hammered him with more kicks, but Taylor defiantly kicked out at one after a head kick. Danielson hit a pair of corner dropkicks, but Taylor drilled Danielson with a lariat for a nearfall. Taylor landed a big offensive flurry, ending in a uranage and a splash for a nearfall. Danielson evaded a cannonball, hit a trio of head kicks, then hit the Busaiku Knee for the win.

After the match, Will Ospreay made his way to the ring. He grabbed a mic for both him and Danielson, asking for a conversation. After praising the match with Taylor, he noted how the first thing he noticed was how respected Danielson was in the locker room and by the fans. But after getting interrupted on Dynamite, Ospreay has a feeling that Danielson wanted to ask him something. Danielson welcomed Ospreay to AEW and praised his match with Takeshita at Revolution. He heard Ospreay talk about being the best wrestler in the world, and Danielson wanted to give Ospreay a chance to prove it. The challenge was made and accepted; Bryan Danielson vs. Will Ospreay on April 21st at AEW Dynasty.

The Elite (Kazuchika Okada, Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson) defeated Adrian Alanis, Jon Cruz & Liam Gray

I get paid to watch Kazuchika Okada wrestle. That’s pretty cool. An emphatic debut for Okada and a big-time trios match for Big Business in Boston.

During the Young Bucks entrance, Matthew pulled out a giant coin and dropped it to signal the entrance of Okada. Okada requested the tag to start the match, then promptly beat all three of his opponents by himself, scoring the pin on Gray after hitting the Rainmaker.

After the match, Eddie Kingston went after Okada but got quickly overwhelmed by the Elite. Eddie’s old friend Penta El Zero Miedo came out to make the save but got dropped with a neckbreaker by Okada. Okada posed with the Continental Championship before PAC made his return to save his Death Triangle partner. He took out both Bucks before facing off with Okada. PAC ran wild and took Okada down with a German suplex before the Bucks pulled Okada out of the ring. PAC said that he was back and looking for trouble. Kingston made the challenge for Wednesday’s Big Business show: Kingston, PAC, & Penta vs. The Elite.

We got a video package hyping Darby Allin vs. Jay White for Big Business.

Mariah May defeated Trish Adora

While I’m not a fan of the Timeless Toni stuff, this was a fun segment.

In a continuance of the All About Eve story going on here, May came out to Toni Storm’s music while wearing her old gear. After May controlled the match before the commercial break, Adora ran wild, hitting a German suplex from her knees. May shut her down with a big running knee before landing the May Day to score the win.

After the match, Timeless Toni Storm came out to present the first annual Toni Award. This award represented the outstanding achievement in the field of pro wrestling. The nominees are: Mariah May for her portrayal of Toni Storm at Revolution. There are no other nominees. The winner is…Mariah May! On behalf of us all at F4WOnline, allow me to congratulate May on her big win. Deonna Purrazzo crashed the stage like Will Smith, jumping Storm from behind and attacking her with the Toni Award – which was a shoe. May saved Storm and dropped Purrazzo with a DDT before accepting her award to You Deserve It chants.

We got a video package recapping Kris Statlander vs. Riho before hyping Willow Nightingale vs. Riho at Big Business.

Nick Wayne (w/ The Patriarchy) defeated Adam Priest

Wayne thoroughly controlled this match early on. Priest laid in some chops on the floor, but a momentary distraction allowed Wayne to hit a handspring that knocked Priest off the apron. After paying homage to “his father” with the standing choke on the ropes, Wayne hit Wayne’s World to get the win.

After the match, Christian talked trash to fans and tore up one masked fan’s sign. The fan jumped Christian and Wayne before unmasking as Adam Copeland. Copeland held up the TNT Championship before pulling out a box from under the ring. The Patriarchy surrounded the ring, but Copeland opened the box and spooked Cage enough to get him to bail. What was in the box was never revealed, so there’s a little mystery going into Toronto on March 20th.

Mark Briscoe, Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett & the others were with Lexy Nair backstage. Jarrett talked about trust and told Briscoe that he could trust that Jarrett would do anything to win this street fight. Lethal and Briscoe trusted each other before Briscoe got hyped for the street fight.

Chris Jericho defeated Titán

These two had some slight missteps early but rounded off into a solid match. This match had a nice backstory, as Jericho wrestled the original Titán in his first match in CMLL before wrestling the new generation Titan here tonight. Hook and Jericho look to be taking on the Gates of Agony at some point soon, which is a fine spot for both men.

The two locked up before Titán won the early exchange with an armdrag. Jericho engaged in a chop battle before Titán sent him to the floor and hit a tope suicida. Titán sent Jericho into the stairs before bringing Jericho to the top rope, but Jericho took Titán down with a top rope bulldog for a nearfall.

After a commercial, Titán sent Jericho to the floor with a nip-up Pele Kick. Titán followed up with a no-touch tope to the floor before Jericho came back with a butterfly backbreaker for a nearfall. Titán avoided the Lionsault and hit a Tornado DDT for a nearfall. Titán lifted himself to the top rope and hit a double stomp for a nearfall. Titán went to lock on El Immortal, but Jericho reversed it into a Walls of Jericho attempt. Titán rolled Jericho up for a nearfall, but Jericho caught Titán off the ropes with a Codebreaker for a nearfall.

Titán matrixed out of the way of a Judas Effect, hitting a kick and a spinning Death Valley Driver for a nearfall. Titán went for the same step-up rana he had hit earlier, but Jericho reversed it into the Walls of Jericho for the win. After the match, the Gates of Agony jumped Jericho after he got involved in their business on Dynamite. Hook came out with a kendo stick and a favor to repay, running off the Gates of Agony.

Tony Schiavone announced the AEW World Tag Team Title Tournament would begin next Saturday on Collision before welcoming FTR to the ring. Cash Wheeler noted that next month noted a decade of FTR and that they’ve gotten knocked down plenty of times in that span. They got back up before, and they would get back up again after their loss at Revolution. Dax Harwood noted how great they’ve been and how Collision was built on great tag team wrestling, but openly wondered if they should even be in the tournament after their recent cold streak. He said if they were in the tournament, they would give everything they had to be the first three-time tag team champions in AEW history.

The Infantry came out, making me wonder if I clicked on Honor Club by accident. Captain Shawn Dean introduced themselves as the most dynamic, best-looking tag team in wrestling. Carlie Bravo noted that they were almost late to the show due to a sale at Magic City but wanted to wish FTR luck. They shook hands before noting that they wanted to give the tag team tournament a Revival. Harwood said that the Revival was dead, and if they came across the Infantry in the tournament, they would be dead too.

(A nice introduction for the Infantry, who have been a solid team in Ring of Honor. Glad to see them get the nod here.)

Mistico defeated Angelico (w/ Serpentico)

A fine showcase for Mistico.

Mistico won an early exchange with armdrags before landing a handspring elbow as the show went to a commercial break. After the break, Mistico hit a headscissors and a 619 before hitting a springboard dropkick. Mistico dove onto Serpentico before hitting Angelico with a headscissors on the floor. Mistico vaulted back into the ring with a tornillo before hitting a senton off the top rope for a nearfall.

Angelico avoided a moonsault and countered a La Magistral cradle with one of his own for a nearfall. The two traded kicks before Mistico hit a springboard crossbody. Mistico twisted himself into La Mistica to score the submission win. After the match, everyone shook hands as Angelico and Serpentico raised Mistico’s hand in victory.

Atlanta Street Fight – House Of Black (Brody King, Buddy Matthews & Malakai Black) defeated Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett & Mark Briscoe

This was a wild match, paying off the fire teases from Briscoe’s temporary pyromania last week. With Jarrett’s friend and wife getting caught up in the match, it can easily lead to the long-teased split between Lethal and Jarrett. Meanwhile, the House of Black gets a bounce-back win and closes this chapter after losing the cage match in January to FTR and Daniel Garcia due to Briscoe’s interference.

The House was in black and red while Briscoe’s team was ready for war decked out in camo. During the opening Pier Six brawl, it was announced that Hook & Chris Jericho would take on the Gates of Agony at Big Business on Wednesday. This was an absolute riot to start, with bodies flying everywhere and plunder being set up. King went for a crossbody to Lethal into the barricade, but Lethal moved out of the way. Lethal and Jarrett went to put King through a table, but Black knocked Jarrett down. King sent Lethal through the table with a crossbody into a barricade.

Briscoe and Matthews fought on the top rope near a table, but King sent Briscoe off the top rope and over the table into a pile of chairs. After a commercial, the House had Jarrett isolated as Matthews pulled out lighter fluid. They went to set the table on fire before Sonjay Dutt tried to involve himself with a guitar. It didn’t work, leading to Julia Hart bringing out a gas can. Matthews doused Dutt in the gas, but Karen Jarrett came out and hit Matthews low, allowing Dutt to send Matthews through some stageside tables. Hart misted Karen, taking her out of the fold.

Jarrett and Lethal took down King in the ring with a double-team, but King hammered Lethal repeatedly on the apron before choking Lethal out. Jarrett cracked King with a guitar before tipping him off the apron through a table, then turned around into a Black Mass from Black. Hart handed Black the railroad spike, but Briscoe fought it off and hit the Jay Driller.

Briscoe went for a dive onto Black, but Matthews helped Black catch Briscoe and dumped him on the apron. Hart lit the table on fire before Matthews and Black powerbombed Briscoe into the flaming table. Black rolled Briscoe into the ring and got the pin to win this wild main event.

AEW Collision live results: Bryan Danielson vs. Hechicero

For the first time ever, Bryan Danielson will take on CMLL star Hechicero as part of tonight’s AEW Collision from Edinburg, Texas.

The CMLL foursome of Hechicero, Volador Jr., Mistico and Mascara Dorada made their AEW presence felt this week, attacking Danielson’s Blackpool Combat Club partner Jon Moxley on Wednesday’s Dynamite.

After last week’s victory over the House of Black in an Escape the Cage match, FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) will again team with Daniel Garcia as they face TNT Champion Christian Cage and The Patriarchy (Killswitch & Nick Wayne).

AEW Continental Crown Champion Eddie Kingston will be in non-title action as he takes on Bryan Keith.

Serena Deeb will look to get a win streak going following her recent return to AEW after a lengthy absence as she faces Queen Aminata who is still in search of her first-ever AEW victory.

Mark Briscoe will also be heard from on the show.

**********

After a week off, Sir Elton John welcomed us to Collision. Tony Schiavone, Kevin Kelly, & Nigel McGuinness were on the call.

Proving Ground Match – AEW Continental Champion Eddie Kingston defeated Bryan Keith

This was an excellent back-and-forth fight, as these two battered each other for the better part of fifteen minutes. The match really picked up after the commercial, and the nearfalls got more believable for both men as time went on. Keith getting the official graphic after this match was well-earned, as he has had several good showings since coming onto AEW’s radar.

After a lockup, Keith tagged Kingston with a palm strike. Kingston blocked another palm strike before knocking Keith down with a chop. Kingston chopped Keith a couple times before dumping him with an overhead suplex. Keith came back, trading headbutts with Kingston before Kingston caught him with more chops.

Keith refused to fall to more chops, firing back at Kingston with elbows before dropping him with a low dropkick and a running boot. Keith hit a crescent kick, but Keith only got a one count. After the match, Tony Schiavone got in the ring and complimented Kingston on his match. Kingston put over Schiavone’s wife Lois, then told him to talk to Keith. Schiavone announced that Keith was officially All Elite, with the graphic appearing on the big screen. His home state cheered him as Kingston congratulated him, but Bryan Danielson’s music hit. Danielson, whose match was next, brushed past Kingston to raise Keith’s hand. Kingston was annoyed and left.

We got a recap of the CMLL luchadores attacking Jon Moxley on Dynamite. We cut to a video of Moxley from after Dynamite, where he said that the fight reminded him of a night in the drunk tank in Laredo. He said that the BCC had no reason to disrespect the CMLL wrestlers, but they came into his house and disrespected him. If the CMLL wrestlers thought they were lazy American wrestlers like “the guys on the other channel,” they were wrong. Moxley said that they better hope the BCC don’t show up to their house.

Bryan Danielson defeated Hechicero

An incredible showing from Hechicero, as his transitions and submission holds were dazzling. The announcers hyped him up as one of Mexico’s greatest technical wrestlers, and he lived up to the billing here. Despite this being a clean win for him, it felt like Danielson stole away with this win. The CMLL vs. BCC feud is a winner so far.

The announcers put over Hechicero’s technical ability, calling him the best technical wrestler out of Mexico in the last 20 years. The two got into matching leg locks before Hechicero caught Danielson in a pin for a nearfall. Danielson locked on a Romero Special, but Hechicero quickly escaped and locked one on before rolling through several times. The crowd chanted for Hechicero as McGuinness praised him. Hechicero went to the top rope with Danielson, but Danielson knocked him down with a headbutt. Danielson went for the diving headbutt, but Hechicero caught him in an armbar that he transitioned into a pin for a nearfall.

Hechicero caught Danielson with a choke over the ropes before sending Danielson to the floor. Hechicero followed Danielson to the floor with a Superman dive. Hechicero went for a springboard dive into the ring, but Danielson caught him with a double underhook transition into the LeBell Lock. Hechicero got out of the hold and transitioned into a wild submission that tied Danielson up like a pretzel.

Danielson got to the ropes, then took Hechicero down with kicks. Danielson hit the middle kicks, but Hechicero caught the head kick and turned it into a spinning hammerlock backbreaker. Danielson ducked the rising knee and took Hechicero down with a Dragon Screw. Danielson went for the Busaiku Knee, but Hechicero reversed it into a pin for a nearfall. Hechicero locked on a submission, but Danielson turned it into a pin cover to score the win.

After the match, Hechicero jumped Danielson and laid in the boots, but Claudio Castagnoli ran him off.

FTR & Daniel Garcia were backstage with Lexy Nair, who asked if this trio would continue after their cage match win last week. Garcia said that no one saw this coming, but the best things in life are things you don’t see coming. FTR said that while they didn’t make the rankings as a tag team, they did make it as a trio with Garcia. They closed a chapter last week against the House of Black and planned on starting a new one against Christian Cage & The Patriarchy tonight.

Hook defeated The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum)

During the last match, the announcers said that Hook had arrived and asked for a fight, which was granted. During Hook’s entrance, they show his and Brian Cage’s involvement in the street fight main event from Dynamite. Hook sent Floyd flying with throws to start. The Outrunners used the numbers advantage for a while, but Hook popped up after a double suplex and ran wild with suplexes. Hook caught Floyd with Redrum and scored the submission win.

Tony Schiavone welcomed Mark Briscoe to the ring. Briscoe said he and his brother used to watch Schiavone interview the best talkers in the business, so it felt good to be there now. Briscoe talked about how he came to help FTR last week, but the House of Black took him out before he could get into the fight. He came back to help, and it was his team that got the win. He talked about how hard this past year has been for him, but he would always keep fighting. The lights went down, and the House of Black appeared on the screen. Malachi Black talked about liking magic tricks where the magician made someone disappear. They would make Briscoe disappear all the same. The lights went out again, but it was a ruse, as Black said that they were already in Briscoe’s head.

We got a video package highlighting Adam Copeland and his wins in the Cope Open. We’ll hear from Copeland next week on Collision.

Serena Deeb defeated Queen Aminata

Deeb showcased her expertise early on, locking on a grounded surfboard stretch before getting a nearfall with the Gedo Clutch. Deeb took a shoulder block, but quickly locked on a half crab that Aminata escaped. Aminata sent Deeb into the turnbuckle before hitting a vertical suplex for a nearfall.

Aminata fought out of the Detox again, but Deeb hit another neckbreaker before locking on the Serenity Lock for the win.

After a commercial, Tony Schiavone welcomed out #1 ranked Swerve Strickland & Prince Nana. Schiavone asked about Strickland’s match against #2 ranked Hangman Page this Wednesday, with an AEW Title match at Revolution against Samoa Joe. Swerve talked about it being Black History Month and the people who paved the way for him like Ron Simmons, and friends who have made it possible for him like Kofi Kingston & ROH Women’s World Champion Athena. Swerve said he would add his name to that list of World Champions. He has done some terrible things but doesn’t apologize for any of them.

When asked about Hangman’s claim that he can’t beat him without the Mogul Embassy, Strickland moved Nana to the side to remind everyone that he’s beaten Page twice. He said he would move on from Page and become Black History by winning the AEW World Title. Nana said that they would be at Strickland’s side, but Strickland made it clear that he wanted no interference to make sure Hangman didn’t have any more excuses.

We cut to a video from after Dynamite with AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm, Mariah May, and Luther. Storm blew off May’s match from last week’s Collision before threatening to eat Deonna Purrazzo again. Storm told Luther to get her a public workout to show everyone how technical she could be. Storm is booked to wrestle Red Velvet on Dynamite.

Vertvixen caught another wheelbarrow and hit a Blue Thunder Bomb for a nearfall. Vertvixen hit a running boot into the corner, but Velvet shifted her weight on a bodyslam to score a nearfall. Velvet hit running knees to the back before hitting In The Mix to score the win.

FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) & Daniel Garcia defeated The Patriarchy (TNT Champion Christian Cage, Killswitch, Nick Wayne) (w/ Shayna Wayne)

FTR and Garcia deciding to make a go of it as a trio is fine by me, considering they continue to have fun Collision main events. The closing stretch between Garcia and Wayne is a sneak peek at AEW’s future, as they are two of several bright stars in AEW under the age of 30. Garcia and Christian staring each other down in the post-match is an interesting path to go down for a future title match.

Matt Menard joined commentary in support of Garcia. Wayne and Harwood started, with Harwood chopping Wayne into his corner. Cage tagged in, but Harwood caught him with a trio of quick pins for a trio on nearfalls. Wayne tagged back in and slapped Harwood, but Harwood chose to tag Garcia, who took him down with shoulder blocks. Wayne and Garcia had a fast-paced back-and-forth in a look at two of AEW’s future stars. Garcia sent Wayne and Cage to the floor before FTR made sure Killswitch didn’t jump him from behind.

After a commercial, The Patriarchy isolated Garcia in their corner. Cage cut off a charge to the corner, but Garcia moved out of the way of a diving headbutt. Wayne and Wheeler tagged in, with Wheeler running wild. The announcers noted how Killswitch hadn’t been tagged in at any point, as Wheeler pinballed Wayne around. FTR went for a spike piledriver, but Killswitch interfered. They took down Killswitch with a high-low combo, but Wayne came back with a sunset flip and a Code Red for nearfalls.

Harwood cut off Wayne on the top rope and hit a super back suplex for a nearfall that Killswitch broke up. Christian hooked Harwood’s neck to set up a Killswitch chokeslam for a nearfall. After a commercial, Harwood sent Christian up and over with a back body drop. Wayne tagged in and got Harwood back in their corner, scoring a nearfall with a vertical suplex. Cage cut off Garcia on the top rope, but Harwood took Cage down with punches. Garcia went to the top rope, but Cage shoved him off the top into a cutter from Wayne for a nearfall. We got a move train that included a spear to Garcia and Wayne’s World to Harwood. Garcia side-stepped a spear and Wayne’s World before catching Wayne with a jackknife pin to score the win. After the match, Garcia stared daggers at Christian Cage and the TNT Title.

AEW Collision live results: Adam Copeland open challenge

Adam Copeland has issued an open challenge for tonight’s AEW Collision from Norfolk, Virginia.

Copeland is coming off a victory in an eight-man tag on Dynamite and a singles win over Griff Garrison on last week’s Collision.

New signee Deonna Purrazzo will make her Collision debut against Red Velvet who is also debuting on Collision.

Virginia native Hangman Page will be in a featured segment.

ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) & Brian Cage will put their titles on the line against the team of Lance Archer & The Righteous (Vincent & Dutch).

AEW Battle of the Belts IX kicks off (in a new post) immediately after Collision as AEW Tag Team Champions Ricky Starks & Big Bill defend against Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara, International Champion Orange Cassidy defends against Preston Vance, and TBS Champion Julia Hart defends against Anna Jay.

No pre-roll promos, as Sir Elton John played us into this week’s Collision. Tony Schiavone, Kevin Kelly, & Nigel McGuinness were on the call as Adam Copeland made his way to the ring to start the show. Copeland thanked Norfolk for bringing the heat before asking for someone to answer his challenge. Lee Moriarty & Shane Taylor made their way to the ring, with Taylor saying that they were here to take every opportunity. Taylor introduced a video package hyping Moriarty. Moriarty then took the mic and told Copeland that he would tap him out.

“Cope Open” Challenge – Adam Copeland defeated Lee Moriarty (w/ Shane Taylor)

Moriarty looked good here, as Copeland scores another fall with the Grindhouse submission on his road back to the TNT Title.

Copeland escaped Moriarty’s early mat takedown before ringing Copeland’s arm up on the apron before a commercial break. After the break, Copeland hit a full nelson slam to take down Moriarty. Copeland fired up, hitting a reverse DDT for a nearfall. Copeland went to the top rope, but Moriarty yanked him down with an armdrag for a nearfall. Moriarty immediately transitioned into the Border City Stretch, but Copeland got to the ropes.

Copeland knocked Moriarty down onto the top rope, then took him down with an avalanche fallaway slam. Copeland loaded up to hit the spear, but Taylor distracted him on the outside. Moriarty hit a Yakuza Kick, but Copeland avoided a springboard to slide outside and spear Taylor. Moriarty hit a dive onto Copeland, then countered Edge’s crossface attempt into another Border City Stretch.

Copeland swung his way out, laying in forearms to the back of Moriarty’s head. Copeland hit a big boot and a backbreaker before locking on the crossface – now called the Grindhouse – for the submission win. After the match, Copeland reminded everyone that his target was the TNT Champion Christian Cage.

After a video package of last week’s attack from the House of Black, FTR & Daniel Garcia were backstage with Lexy Nair. Harwood said that while he didn’t know if they would get along, they did all have the same mindset going into the match. Garcia said that he needed to be on Collision to grow as a wrestler, and that he would make the House of Black pay for attacking him and the people he cared about.

Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara were backstage with Lexy Nair, who reminded everyone that Sammy Guevara is the only man in AEW history to win a title at Battle of the Belts. They put over Ricky Starks & Big Bill, but they would take it to the streets and win the AEW World Tag Team Titles tonight on Battle of the Belts.

ROH World Six Man Tag Team Title Match – The Mogul Embassy (Bishop Kaun, Brian Cage & Toa Liona) (c) defeated Lance Archer & The Righteous (Dutch & Vincent) (w/ Jake Roberts)

The crowd was unsurprisingly cold on this match when it started, as the Righteous haven’t been highlighted on AEW TV in months. But the work got the crowd into it as these guys scrapped it out for the gold. A nice set-up match for the Mogul Embassy leading to their defense against Bullet Club Gold on Dynamite.

During the entrances, they showed how the miscommunication between Archer and the Embassy in an eight-man tag match on Dynamite led to this match. Cage took Archer over with a suplex, a headscissors, and a German suplex. Archer came back with a crossbody that took down both Cage and Kaun before tagging in Vincent, who dropped Kaun with a back elbow. Kaun and Liona isolated Vincent in their corner to take the advantage.

Both Dutch and Liona got involved from the apron, leading to a Pier Six brawl and a commercial break. Dutch dropped Kaun with a crossbody, but Kaun dropped Archer with a DDT reversal. Kaun fought out of the opponent’s corner, but Archer knocked his partners off the apron and hit a chokeslam. We got a move train that ended with Dutch hitting a dive to the Embassy on the floor.

Archer set up Kaun for the Blackout, but Nana held onto Kaun’s foot in the corner. Roberts laid out Nana with a punch before the Righteous hit a tandem move for a nearfall. The Embassy cut off Autumn Sunshine from the floor before Kaun sent Vincent into a Pounce. Kaun and Liona hit Open the Gates on Vincent for a nearfall that Archer broke up. Vincent and Kaun were left in the ring, and after several reversals, Kaun scored the win with a Pedigree.

After the match, Prince Nana proclaimed his men the greatest ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions of all time. Nana said that the Bullet Club Gold brought up wanting more gold, but their leader Jay White couldn’t even beat Swerve Strickland in the Continental Classic. Nana laid out the challenge for Dynamite: The Mogul Embassy vs. Bullet Club Gold for the ROH World Six-Man Titles.

Presten Vance was backstage with Lexy Nair ahead of his International Title match against Orange Cassidy at Battle of the Belts. He was quickly interrupted by Roderick Strong & The Kingdom. Vance brushed off Strong’s good luck, saying that after he won tonight, he would kick Strong’s ass any day of the week.

Dustin Rhodes defeated Willie Mack

This one came out of nowhere, but it was good to see these two out there.

Rhodes and Mack traded shots, with Rhodes getting a nearfall off of his kneeling punch. Mack came back with chops before hitting a running kick and a standing moonsault for a nearfall. Mack hit a big thrust kick, but Rhodes avoided a frog splash. Rhodes hit a Canadian Destroyer and a snap powerslam for a nearfall. After some back and forth, Rhodes hit the Cross Rhodes and the Final Cut for the win.

Bullet Club Gold was backstage, noting how comfortable people have gotten without the Collision Cowboys around to keep everyone in check. They accepted the challenge from the Mogul Embassy for Dynamite.

Hook was shown entering the building.

Dustin Rhodes was backstage with Renee Paquette. Rhodes was quickly interrupted by Christian Cage & The Patriarchy. Cage said that anyone who was friends of Adam Copeland was an enemy of his. Rhodes challenged Cage to a TNT Title match on Dynamite. Cage said that it was a nice dream that would have been nicer if Dustin’s father was alive to see it. Cage said that everyone referred to Dustin’s father as a legend, but no one used that word for Dustin. Dustin told Cage to get ready.

[A nice, quick build up for another title match for this Wednesday, in what’s becoming a stacked episode of Dynamite.]

Hangman Adam Page defeated JD Drake (w/ Anthony Henry)

An awesome TV match, as Hangman scores a hard-fought win on TV. I’ll note that Swerve Strickland got a win on Rampage last night as well, as their fortunes seem to be tied to one another at the moment. I sound like a broken record with this point, but the Workhorsemen continue to have these impressive performances on Collision.

Page laid in the shots to Drake as Tony Schiavone announced that Hook has asked for a match tonight ahead of his World Title match on Dynamite. They tagged each other with forearms in the corner before Page hit the ten punches in the corner. Page hit a moonsault to a standing Drake before hitting a running Shooting Star Press for a nearfall. Page dropkicked Drake off of the apron into Henry, but Henry pulled Drake out of the way of a dive. Drake drilled Page with a rebound forearm as we went to a commercial break.

After the break, we saw Henry hitting a leg lariat to Page on the floor as Drake distracted the referee. Page low-bridged Drake to the apron, then dropkicked him down and hit a tope. Page hit a high crossbody for a nearfall. Page clobbered Drake with multiple clotheslines before hitting a Death Valley Driver for a nearfall. Page couldn’t get Drake up for a Deadeye, but back body dropped him up and over.

Page took a swing at Henry on the apron, but that led to Drake hitting a Magnum-style belly-to-belly on Page. Drake hit a cannonball in the corner, but Page moved out of the way of a moonsault. Page dropped an interfering Henry with a moonsault off the apron before hitting the Buckshot Lariat for the win.

Deonna Purrazzo defeated Red Velvet

Purrazzo looked very impressive here. She has a real snap to her offense that stood out to me. Red Velvet was also quite good here, as she’s grown on me since her return from injury.

The two traded armdrags before coming to a standoff. Velvet took Purrazzo down with a leg lariat for a nearfall. Velvet took Purrazzo around with a step-up armdrag, but Purrazzo snatched her into an armbar that forced Velvet into the ropes. Purrazzo countered a Velvet strike into a quick Koji clutch that Velvet got out of with a pin reversal.

Velvet snapped Purrazzo’s arm over the ropes before working on the arm. Velvet peppered Purrazzo with body shots before Purrazzo traded boots with Velvet. Purrazzo hit a Side Russian Leg Sweep before locking on a Fujiwara armbar. Velvet tried to counter it into a rollup, but Purrazzo kicked out and locked on the Venus Di Milo double arm submission for the win.

Hook defeated Kevin Matthews

Hook felt like he cooled off, but the challenge to Samoa Joe has heated him right back up. The crowd was all the way with him for this squash match.

Matthews went for a sneak attack on Hook, but Hook moved, sending Matthews into the FTW Title belt. Hook sent Matthews flying with a suplex before following him to the floor and suplexing him on the ropes. Hook hit the crossface strikes and locked on Redrum to score the quick win.

The House Of Black (Brody King, Buddy Matthews & Malakai Black) defeated Daniel Garcia & FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood)

This was a hell of a main event. FTR have solidified themselves as the Collision marathon men, consistently in these high-level main event matches on TV. The established trio scoring the win here made sense, but the end segment made it clear that these teams aren’t done with each other yet.

Matt Menard joined commentary as Harwood and Matthews started in the ring. Matthews was isolated in the corner but slipped past Garcia to get the tag out to Black. Garcia ducked a head kick before landing cross-legged to taunt Black. The good guys cleared the ring before they all sat cross-legged to taunt their opponents.

After a commercial, Garcia sent Matthews over the top rope with a hip toss. Wheeler and King tagged in, with Wheeler running wild. Wheeler and Harwood hammered King with lariats before taking him down with high-low clothelines. King screamed through strikes from Harwood before dropping him with a tree slam for a nearfall.

Harwood was isolated in the House of Black corner up through the next commercial break, with Matthews and Black hitting the lifting knee strikes for a nearfall. Harwood dropped Matthews with a DDT, then nutmegged Black to get the tag out to Black. Garcia ran wild, sending Matthews and Black to the floor. King went to choke Garcia out, but Garcia used King’s bad hand to take him out of the ring.

After a Wheeler dive, Garcia hit a brainbuster on Black for a nearfall. Garcia caught King in a guillotine choke, but King herked him up and over. FTR helped Garcia hit a triple-team spike piledriver. We got a move train that ended with Black dropping Garcia with a head kick. The House set up triple superplexes, but everyone fought out. Garcia took Black on his shoulders, leading to Harwood hitting the Steiner Super Bulldog for a nearfall.

FTR went for the Powerplex, but after Wheeler got knocked down, Garcia went up to take his place. Harwood hit the superplex, but Black got his knees up on Garcia’s splash. Black snatched on a kneebar on Harwood, forcing Harwood to fight to the ropes. The House took out Garcia and Wheeler on the outside, leaving Harwood and Black in the ring.

Black moonsaulted onto Garcia, and Matthews hitting a double powerbomb for a nearfall that Harwood flipped into a pin for a nearfall. Harwood hit a piledriver for a nearfall. The numbers became too much for Harwood, as after a King distraction from the apron, Black hit the Black Mass on Harwood. Matthews hit a Curb Stomp to follow up and score the win. After the match, the House of Black attacked Matt Menard before FTR and Garcia came back with chairs. FTR and Garcia hit a triple-team Shatter Machine to leave King lying.

As Collision came to an end, we saw Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara brawling with Ricky Starks & Big Bill outside of the building.

AEW Collision live results: Bryan Danielson vs. Andrade El Idolo

The AEW World Team titles are at stake on this week’s Collision.

Ricky Starks and Big Bill will defend their titles against Blackpool Combat Club’s Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta. Starks and Bill won the Tag Team titles two weeks ago on Collision, defeating FTR in under five minutes. FTR will be making their return to in-ring action on Saturday for the first time since losing the titles.

Bryan Danielson will take on Andrade El Idolo in what Tony Khan has billed as a dream match. It will be the first time the two have wrestled in AEW. Danielson lost to Christian Cage on last week’s Collision thanks to interference from Ricky Starks.

Eddie Kingston will meet Jeff Jarrett in a Memphis street fight. If Jeff Jarrett wins, Jay Lethal will earn a shot at Eddie Kingston’s ROH World Championship. Miro will also be in action, taking on Action Andretti after Andretti was shown talking to Miro’s wife CJ Perry about potentially becoming a client of hers.

Live coverage of Collision begins at 8 p.m. ET.

No pre-roll comments again this week, as Sir Elton John played us into Collision. Tony Schiavone, Kevin Kelly, and Nigel McGuinness were on the call for a Saturday night chockful of fights.

Bryan Danielson defeated Andrade El Idolo

While the “Dream Match” terminology used by Tony Khan to hype this match was a bit extreme, this was still a stellar television match. Andrade has been a lynchpin of Collision since day one, and Danielson was obviously going to live up to the billing. The post-match will garner attention, with Malachi Black stepping up to Danielson.

The fans chanted This Is Awesome at the bell as the two men locked up. It was announced that both Skye Blue & The Gunns would be in action tonight. In separate matches, to be clear. After an early exchange, Andrade lifted Danielson into a Gory Special. The two men got into a pinning predicament before standing off. Another fast-paced exchange ended with another standoff and a handshake. Danielson lifted Andrade in a Romero special, and Andrade escaped into another pinning predicament.

Danielson and Andrade fought out of each other’s submission holds to another stalemate. Danielson landed a chop, which quickly changed the tenor of this match as both men started chopping each other. Andrade caught himself in the ropes and baited Danielson in before sending him to the floor, but Danielson caught Andrade on a baseball slide before throwing him shoulder-first into the ring post. Danielson hit a running knee off the apron as we went to a commercial.

Danielson stomped on Andrade’s arm as we returned from the commercial. Andrade flipped out of a back suplex before throwing an overhand chop. The two men traded strikes again before Andrade laid Bryan out with a flying forearm. Danielson countered Andrade’s running knees but didn’t counter Andrade’s springboard dropkick and got sent to the floor. Andrade followed Danielson to the floor with a moonsault, before hitting a split-legged moonsault in the ring for a nearfall.

Andrade brought Danielson up for a superplex, but Danielson sent Andrade to the mat with headbutts. Danielson hit a shotgun dropkick before landing the chest kicks. Andrade caught the head kick and hit a dragon screw leg whip before attempting the Figure Four, but Danielson caught him in a small package for a nearfall. Andrade went for another Dragon Screw, but Danielson countered it into a LeBell Lock.

Andrade got to the ropes, so Danielson brought him to the top rope. Andrade knocked Danielson away and hit the Perro Aguayo double stomp to the chest. Andrade followed with the double knees in the corner for a nearfall. Andrade went to the top rope going for the double jump moonsault, but Danielson countered it and stomped Andrade’s face. Danielson went for the LeBell Lock, but Andrade countered it into the Figure Four. Danielson made it to the ropes as Andrade was bridging up into the Figure Eight.

Another chop battle ensued before Andrade drilled Danielson with a back elbow. Danielson hit a high kick, but Andrade countered the Busaiku Knee with an O’Connor Roll. Another pinning predicament ensued before Danielson stacked Andrade with a crucifix pin for the win.

After Andrade and Danielson shook hands, the lights went out. When they came up, Malachi Black drilled Danielson with Black Mass. Wheeler Yuta & Claudio Castagnoli came out, but the lights went out again. When they came up, Black was gone.

Darby Allin talked about Nick Wayne in a video package. He talked about Wayne feeling hated by fans online, who believed he wasn’t ready for a spot in AEW. Allin was disappointed by Wayne listening to the hate and turning on him. Allin said that he had a fractured shoulder but would be on Dynamite on Wednesday to give Sting his special gift if Wayne wanted to finish what they started last week.

Skye Blue defeated Hollyhood Haley

The announcers mentioned Blue’s recent change in attitude as she walked out in Scooby Doo-themed gear. Blue laid Haley out with a clothesline and mounted forearms. Haley made a short comeback before Blue powerbombed her out of the corner. Blue hit Code Blue for the win.

Austin & Colton Gunn (w/ Jay White) defeated The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum)

Colton got the upper hand on Floyd with a straight punch to the face before dropkicking Magnum. Austin got some shots in before both Gunns hit the 3:10 To Yuma for the quick win.

After the match, the lights went out. A man in a devil mask appeared on the screen but never unmasked. Back in the ring, Bullet Club Gold was shaken but quickly regained their confidence and left.

Lexy Nair was backstage with Orange Cassidy & Kris Statlander. Statlander needed to prepare, so she lifted Nair for a while. Statlander and Cassidy were ready for their respective title defenses on Battle of the Belts later tonight.

Memphis Street Fight – Jeff Jarrett (w/ Karen Jarrett, Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, & Satnam Singh) defeated Eddie Kingston

Bound For Glory is tonight, and Jeff Jarrett paid tribute to the promotion he founded with a classic Impact Zone main event. A silly fun match, and an underhanded way to get Lethal a shot at the ROH Title.

If Jarrett wins tonight, then Jay Lethal will receive a shot at Kingston’s ROH World Championship.

Legendary Memphis Wrestling announcer Dave Brown joined the commentary desk, noting that he had been calling matches for Jarrett since he was 18 years old. Jarrett got a big pop in his home state. Kingston came out and was immediately overwhelmed by the numbers advantage. Jarrett and Kingston brawled toward the stage near a makeshift concession stand, where Kingston slung hot dogs at Jarrett.

Jarrett threw a barricade at Kingston before hitting him with assorted plunder around the ring. Kingston came back with a headbutt before squirting Jarrett with ketchup and mustard. Kingston laid Jarrett on a table, but Karen Jarrett clawed his eyes. Lethal then took Kingston off of the stage with a cutter through the table as we went to the commercial.

Back from the commercial, Jarrett used plunder to work over Kingston’s knee. After using everything in his sight to batter Kingston’s knee, Jarrett locked on the Figure Four. Kingston writhed in pain before reversing the hold. Lethal went up for the elbow drop, but Jarrett ended up rolling Kingston out of the way. Kingston fought two-on-one before drilling Sonjay Dutt with a punch.

Kingston caught Jarrett with an Uraken, but Lethal cut off the pin. Kingston fought off Lethal and drilled Singh with Jarrett’s guitar, but that allowed Jarrett to hit the Stroke. Jarrett took too long to pin him, allowing Kingston to kick out. Singh, Jarrett, and Lethal all hit their finishers on Kingston, allowing Jarrett to score the win and a title shot for Jay Lethal.

Lexy Nair was backstage with The Acclaimed. Max Caster unsuccessfully hit on Lexy before Billy Gunn apologized for it and hyped their title defense on Battle of the Belts.

Miro defeated Action Andretti

CJ Perry came to ringside for this one. Miro overpowered Andretti in the corner to start. Andretti landed on his feet on a beel, peppering Miro with dropkicks. Miro cut off an Andretti springboard with a forearm before drilling him with short-arm lariats. Miro sent Andretti shoulder-first into the ring post before we went to a commercial.

Andretti fought out of a chinlock as we came back from the break. Andretti fired up, sending Miro to the floor and hitting a dive onto him. Back in the ring, Miro caught a high crossbody attempt and slammed Andretti to the mat. After blowing a kiss to Perry at ringside, Miro had Game Over countered by Andretti with a flash pin for a nearfall.

Andretti hit a tornado DDT, a shotgun dropkick, and a springboard 450, but Miro kicked out at one. Andretti hoisted Miro up, but the back gave out. Miro hit the side kick and locked on Game Over for the win. Perry looked nonplussed at ringside.

Tony Schiavone announced that Hikaru Shida would be defending the AEW Women’s World Title against Ruby Soho on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite.

Lexy Nair was backstage with 2.0, Daniel Garcia, & Anna Jay. Jay said that the beef was squashed, but Matt Menard brought up Garcia’s dancing to everyone’s annoyance. Jay told Menard and Garcia to follow her, leaving Angelo Parker behind. Nair welcomed Ruby Soho, who shared a word with Parker about their respective groups falling apart. Soho said that she deserves to be a champion in AEW, and will be one soon enough.

We had another meeting with La Faccion Ingobernable. Rush was tired of seeing other wrestlers get opportunities and being told that he was too violent. He was sick of conforming just to see other people get what he deserved. This will be continued.

Eddie Kingston was backstage with a medical trainer. Kingston made Jay Lethal jump through hoops because he didn’t like how he called someone who wasn’t his blood his uncle. He knew Lethal used to love wrestling but fell in line with that “carny son of a b*tch” Jeff Jarrett and his crew. Kingston told Lethal not to bring his crew or his family to their title match. Lethal’s mother would cry at the beating Kingston gave Lethal. Not because she was sad for her son, but because she knew her son had it coming. An excellent promo.

FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) vs. Bad Thad Brown & Darian Bengston ended in a no-contest

FTR was in firm control of the match when the lights went out. Malachi Black was back, alongside Brody King and Buddy Matthews. The House of Black took out FTR and stood tall.

We got a rundown of the card for Wednesday’s Dynamite, with the addition of a Chris Jericho sit-down interview with the remarkable Renee Paquette.

AEW World Tag Team Title Match – Big Bill & Ricky Starks defeated Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta) to retain

They certainly want to get the House of Black back in the mix. Their third interference spot led to the end of this solid main event, and the return of Jon Moxley. An energetic end to the show.

Jim Ross joined commentary, noting that he had breakfast with Jerry Lawler earlier in the day. Starks and Yuta started, with Yuta using his technique to tie up Starks on the mat. Starks tagged out to Bill, who clubbered on Yuta, who unsuccessfully fought back. Yuta rung up Bill on the ropes, but a distraction from Starks allowed Bill to knock Yuta off the apron into the barricade. Starks used a BCC shirt at ringside to run Yuta into the barricade as we went to a commercial.

Back from the commercial, Bill and Starks were still beating up on Yuta. Castagnoli saw Starks coming to pull him off of the apron but didn’t see Bill boot him off the apron. Yuta made his way to the corner but had no partner to tag before walking into a Bossman Slam for a nearfall. Yuta avoided a splash in the corner, then got the tag into Castagnoli, who hammered Starks with lariats in the corner. Castagnoli went Old School on Starks before hitting a dropkick for a nearfall.

Starks bailed out of the ring on a Giant Swing attempt. Castagnoli followed him to the floor and hit both Starks and Bill with running European uppercuts as we went to another commercial.

Castagnoli hit a diving uppercut on Starks for a nearfall as we came back from the break. Castagnoli went for the Neutralizer, but Starks fought out and got a tag out to Bill. Starks hit a tornado DDT, with Bill following with a big boot for a nearfall. Castagnoli brought Bill to his corner, where Yuta hit an assisted shotgun dropkick for a nearfall. Yuta went for a German suplex on Bill, but a Starks distraction allowed Bill to drop Yuta with a lariat for a nearfall. Yuta evaded multiple moves but got caught by Bill with a Razor’s Edge for a nearfall.

Yuta booted Starks on a spear attempt before hitting the Right Angle Slam. Castagnoli tagged in, hitting Starks with a lariat for a nearfall. Castagnoli called for the Giant Swing and hit it, with Yuta hitting a dropkick on a swinging Starks for a nearfall that Bill broke up. Castagnoli and Yuta set up the Fastball Special, but the House of Black made their third appearance tonight. Black got the referee’s attention as Matthews and King took out Castagnoli. Starks hit the spear and the Rochambeau to win and retain the titles.

The House of Black menaced the champions before beating down Yuta. Danielson came out, but Starks and Bill joined in the beatdown. FTR couldn’t make a difference, as they were overwhelmed. Jon Moxley made his return from injury to even the odds and helped the BCC and FTR clear the ring. Starks was left alone to take the Shatter Machine and the Death Rider. Castagnoli swung Starks again as Collision faded out.

AEW Collision live results: All star eight-man tag team match

AEW WrestleDream weekend officially kicks off with tonight’s Collision from the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington.

Bryan Danielson will be in eight-man tag team action, teaming with Wheeler Yuta & AEW Tag Team Champions FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) against Ricky Starks, Big Bill & Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis). Sabre Jr. will join commentary for the match.

Kenny Omega & Chris Jericho will join forces for the first time ever as they face the Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona). The match comes in advance of Omega, Jericho & Kota Ibushi clashing with Konosuke Takeshita, Sammy Guevara & Will Ospreay on Sunday.

After Andrade El Idolo recently lost to Jay White on Collision, he will take on another Bullet Club Gold member in Juice Robinson who cost him the match.

Best Friends (Trent Beretta & Chuck Taylor) will face The Kingdom (Matt Taven & Mike Bennett).

Our cold open promos featured comments from the men in the all-star eight-man tag team match. Elton John played us into Collision from the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, where WrestleDream will take place tomorrow night. Kevin Kelly & Nigel McGuinness were on the call.

Andrade El Idolo defeated Juice Robinson (w/ The Gunns)

This was such a simple, effective, fun opener with two world-class talents. Robinson’s charisma has gotten him over with AEW crowds, and Andrade has been a cornerstone of Collision since its inception. A great start to the show.

No shenanigans from Robinson or the Gunns tonight, upset about the attack on Bullet Club Gold leader Jay White from Wednesday’s Dynamite. No collar and elbow tie-up, as Andrade quickly went for the Figure Four before Robinson escaped the ring. Robinson tried baiting Andrade, but Andrade avoided the attack and remained on offense. Andrade hit a high crossbody, then followed it up with the Three Amigos for a nearfall.

Robinson rolled out of the way of a frog splash attempt, but Andrade adjusted his positioning on the top rope and hit a moonsault to all three Bullet Club Gold members on the floor. Robinson took the attention of the referee, allowing the Gunns to rip Andrade off of the apron and lay the boots into him. Robinson dropped Andrade on the apron before cracking him with an elbow strike. Back in the ring, a neckbreaker scored Robinson a nearfall.

Robinson scored with a senton for a nearfall. Andrade reversed an Irish Whip, then went for the ten punches in the corner. After the ninth punch, Robinson pulled Andrade out of the corner and dumped him face-first on the turnbuckle. Robinson hit a cannonball in the corner as we went to a picture-in-picture commercial.

Andrade fought out of a headlock as we came back from the break, but Robinson dropped Andrade with a side suplex. Andrade fought back with a big chop before ripping at Robinson’s leg with a pair of Dragon Screw leg whips. The Hot and Flexible CJ was seen watching this match, scouting for talent. Robinson got the knees up on Andrade’s double jump moonsault before landing a leg lariat for a nearfall. Andrade fought out of Robinson’s finishing facebuster, sending Robinson into the corner.

Robinson pulled the referee in the way of Andrade’s double knees, before poking Andrade in the eyes. Robinson hit a big layout powerbomb for a nearfall. Robinson went to the top rope for a high crossbody, but Andrade reversed it into a Figure Four attempt. Robinson caught a small package for a nearfall. Andrade hip tossed Robinson into the corner before hitting the double knees. The Gunns tried to stop the Figure Eight, but the referee caught their interference and ejected them from ringside.

Robinson went for a rollup, but Andrade kicked out and hit the spinning back elbow. Andrade hit the hammerlock DDT for the pin and a score of revenge against Bullet Club Gold.

Tony Schiavone was backstage with Chris Jericho & Kenny Omega. Jericho put over the history between them, noting that AEW’s history was built on the rivalry between them. They wanted to figure out how they would co-exist tonight before getting in the ring with their mutual enemy in the Don Callis Family on Sunday. Omega and Jericho agreed that they didn’t like each other, but would have each other’s backs tonight and at WrestleDream.

We got part two of Toni Storm: Portrait of a Star. Storm said that she was peaking now, despite her title loss at Grand Slam. She missed the old days, where all she had to do was put on a backward hat and throw a pie in someone’s face to be loved. But now, you have to bleed and cry to be at the top of the charts. She’s going to remind everyone what a star in this business looks like.

The Kingdom (Matt Taven & Mike Bennett) defeated Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta)

The Kingdom have been very cartoony with the Strong story, but they’re still a great team. This match outperformed my expectations for a mid-show tag team match.

This match came after The Kingdom jumped the Best Friends after a four-way tag match at Rampage: Grand Slam, blaming them for losing the match. The Kingdom came out with suitcases, with McGuinness musing that the men came straight from the airport after tending to Roderick Strong. The Kingdom got a jump start on the match but had to bail after the Best Friends went for dual piledrivers.

Best Friends had control on Bennett, but Taven got a tag in and dropped Beretta with a dropkick. Bennett and Taven took Taylor to the floor with a baseball slide. Bennett avoided a spear from Beretta before hitting a drop toe hold onto Taylor into a chair as we went to a commercial break.

Taylor dropped Bennett with a jumping knee as we came back. Beretta got a tag in and ran wild, catching Taven on a dive and hitting a half-and-half suplex. Beretta hit a double dropkick on both Kingdom members before Taven cut him off with an enzuigiri. Taylor hit Taven with Sole Food on the apron before Beretta hit a tornado DDT for a nearfall. The Kingdom hit a double team on Beretta before taking out Taylor on the floor.

Bennett set up Beretta for a piledriver on the steps, but Beretta reversed it into a Death Valley Driver on the steps. Best Friends hit a Doomsday Knee before giving the people what they wanted with a big hug. They hit the dual piledrivers, but legal man Bennett got his foot on the ropes at two. Some misdirection allowed Bennett to punch both Beretta and Taylor in the wiener before the Kingdom hit the Hail Mary on Taylor for the win.

After the match, Taven took the mic and told Bennett that they had to catch their red-eye flight to get back to Roderick Strong. Taven had a message for Adam Cole. He said that Cole delayed his surgery to have meetings with doctors, but if their friendship ever meant anything to them, he would meet them all at Strong’s home. Or, he could go get surgery like the “selfish prick” he was.

Alex Marvez was backstage looking for Prince Nana. He found him with Don Callis. Callis left without a word. Nana said that after the Gates of Agony were done with Omega & Jericho, they would be in the money.

We got a short video package on the Julia Hart/Kris Statlander TBS Title match for WrestleDream.

Julia Hart (w/ Brody King) defeated Vertvixen

We got chants for Defy, the promotion Vertvixen is a regular in around the Seattle area. Hart dropped Vertvixen with a clothesline before ragdolling her on the mat. Hart clubbered on Vertvixen for a while before Vertvixen dodged a corner charge and hit a pair of forearms in the corner. Hart dropped a charging Vertvixen with boots before hitting a moonsault for the win.

After the match, Hart took the mic and called out Kris Statlander. Statlander came out but brought the Best Friends with her to neutralize Brody King. Both women sent their men to the floor, but Hart bailed before things got physical. Statlander called herself the “defeater of the undefeated” and said that Hart’s time was up tomorrow night. A nice piece of business.

We got a video package from Claudio Castagnoli. He said that he didn’t need a belt to act like a champion and wanted to make a challenge for WrestleDream. That challenge was answered by Josh Barnett, and the match was signed for the WrestleDream Zero Hour.

Chris Jericho & Kenny Omega defeated Gates Of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona)

Jericho and Omega worked very well toppling the power team in their first match as a team. It was a different dynamic than I was used to seeing them work, as underdogs against more physically imposing opponents.

Liona started with Jericho, not budging on any of Jericho’s chops before dropping him with a headbutt. The Gates double-teamed Jericho, with Jericho trying and failing to fight out of the corner. Jericho booted Liona on a back body drop attempt before tagging Omega. Liona wasn’t phased by the turnbuckles, so Omega necked him on the ropes before landing a high crossbody. Omega and Jericho worked together to drop Liona with a double suplex before fist-bumping each other.

Liona tried fighting back, but Omega and Jericho dropped him with a double shoulder block. Nana hooked Omega’s leg, allowing Liona to shoulder block Omega into Jericho and knock Jericho off the apron. Kaun tagged in and hit a trio of suplexes for a nearfall. They tied Omega up in the ropes, with Kaun hitting a backstabber and Liona hitting a senton onto the pile.

After a commercial, Omega fought out of the corner and hit a hurricanrana on Kaun. Jericho got the tag in and ran wild, dropping Kaun with a double axe handle before landing the Lionsault. Jericho went for the Walls of Jericho, but Kaun fought to his feet. Jericho went for the Judas Effect but ran into a discus lariat from Liona. Liona went for a corner charge on Omega but missed and got dropkicked off the apron. Jericho hit the Codebreaker on Kaun, with Omega following with a V-Trigger. Omega hit a dive onto Liona, allowing Jericho to score the win with the Walls of Jericho.

After the match, Jericho took to the mic and said that tonight proved that the two of them could work together. Omega said that this was bigger than the both of them and that this was about Don Callis. Callis had Omega brainwashed, but Omega is awake now. Omega said that Callis spent $30,000 on flights for both himself and Takeshita to try and take out Kota Ibushi. It wasn’t enough, and the original Alpha would spell the end for Don Callis. Jericho called Sammy Guevara a real Judas. Jericho said that he would be the villain at WrestleDream and ruin Guevara’s life.

We got a video of The Righteous. They said that no one could hurt the two of them as badly as they could hurt themselves. They said they would tear the bond between Cole and MJF by taking the ROH World Tag Team Titles.

We got a video package for the Darby Allin/Christian Cage TNT Title match at WrestleDream. Allin said that he’s waited a long time to main event a PPV and that the TNT Title is the only thing that gives him validation. Cage said that he asked for this best-of-three falls match to expose Allin in his hometown.

The Righteous (Vincent & Dutch) defeated Travis Williams & Judas Icarus

Vincent came out on crutches before throwing them away. Another Defy chant for the locals, who got a quick advantage on Vincent. Vincent dropped Icarus with a back elbow before tagging in Dutch, who fought through Icarus’ strikes to drop him with a chop. Dutch and Vincent worked together to clobber the two men before hitting the Autumn Sunshine on Icarus for the win.

After the match, Vincent took to the microphone and told Dutch to look at the paper people in the crowd. They say that MJF is the devil, who pulls the strings on that liar Adam Cole. They’re going to win the titles and leave the Devil with one hoof, just like Cole. Dutch pulled out a wooden board and a chair. Vincent stuck the board between Icarus’ feet and smashed his foot with a chair before leaving. I see that they’re big fans of Kathy Bates.

We got a video package for the WrestleDream match between Eddie Kingston & Katsuyori Shibata for both the ROH World & NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship.

We got a rundown of the WrestleDream card. A mixed eight-person tag was added to Zero Hour, as the team of Shane Taylor, Lee Moriarty, Mercedes Martinez, & Diamante will take on Keith Lee, Satoshi Kojima, Athena, & Billie Starkz. Alrighty then.

Tony Schiavone was backstage with TMDK (Shane Haste, Mikey Nicholls, & Bad Dude Tito). The Acclaimed quickly interrupted them to remind them that everyone loves The Acclaimed. Haste gave his own freestyle, which went as well as you would expect.

Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis), Big Bill & Ricky Starks defeated Blackpool Combat Club (Bryan Danielson & Wheeler Yuta) & FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood)

The traditional Collision multi-man main event was a lively affair. The finish seemed mistimed, but they got the crowd back in time for the important staredown with Sabre and Danielson. This was an excellent go-home show for WrestleDream, as the Seattle crowd brought the energy and kicked off the big weekend with a bang.

Zack Sabre Jr. joined commentary, alongside Jim Ross. Starks started with Wheeler, although Starks quickly bailed out when Yuta tagged in. Fletcher came in and got outpaced by Yuta. Harwood came in but got forced into the opposite corner where Davis tagged in. The two men traded chops as Sabre made jokes about Danielson phoning it in. Davis sent Harwood to the floor where we got a standoff as we went to commercial.

Harwood hit Fletcher with a back suplex as we came back from commercial. Harwood fought for a tag, but Fletcher cut him off with a clothesline to the back of the neck. Harwood split the uprights on Fletcher and got a tag to Wheeler, who ran wild on Aussie Open. Wheeler sent Big Bill to the floor, which allowed Fletcher to hit a big bodyslam.

Yuta got a blind tag, which saw him run wild on Fletcher. Starks tried to interfere, but Yuta trapped him and hit the hammer and anvil elbows. He fought off both Starks and Bill until Starks baited him into a big boot from Bill. Yuta got worked on by the opposing team, with Aussie Open hitting a cool back suplex throw into a powerbomb for a nearfall.

After another commercial, Yuta took down Starks as Danielson riled the crowd up for a tag. Danielson got the tag and ran wild on Starks. Danielson sidestepped a spear and hit a dive to Starks on the floor. Danielson hit a missile dropkick before hitting the running dropkicks in the corner. Starks cut him off with a clothesline before setting up the Rochambeau. Danielson slipped away, but Starks got the tornado DDT and got the tag to Big Bill.

Bill went for a chokeslam, but Danielson transitioned it into the LeBell Lock. Fletcher broke up the hold, leading to a Pier Six brawl. Danielson’s team all hit the big kicks on their respective opponents. Harwood hit a diving headbutt on Bill before Fletcher broke the pin. Harwood and Bill were left in the ring. Bill missed a corner charge but kicked off a Sharpshooter attempt. Bill and Starks then hit a spear and chokeslam combination for the win. It looked like someone missed a cue, as it didn’t look like anyone was ready for that to be the finish.

After the match, Danielson dropped Bill with a running knee before everyone brawled to the back. Danielson turned his attention to Sabre, who came into the ring. Sabre shoved Danielson a couple of times before Danielson slapped him in the face. Danielson went for the LeBell Lock, but Sabre escaped. They stared each other down as the show went to black.

AEW Collision live results: Bryan Danielson vs. Ricky Starks Texas Death Match

A grudge match between Bryan Danielson and Ricky Starks takes place on tonight’s AEW Collision from Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Danielson and Starks are set to collide in a Texas Death Match. It’s the second stipulation match they’ve had against each other in recent weeks. At All Out, Danielson replaced CM Punk and defeated Starks in a strap match.

Starks & Big Bill defeated Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli in a tag team match on Collision last week.

The TNT Championship and AEW Tag Team titles will both be defended tonight. The TNT title is on the line in a three-way match featuring Luchasaurus, Christian Cage, and Darby Allin. FTR are giving The WorkHorsemen a shot at their tag titles.

In his home state, RVD will be back in the ring as he teams with Hook against Matt Menard & Angelo Parker.

Jay White vs. Andrade El Idolo is also part of tonight’s card. Our live coverage starts at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

The pre-show comments this week featured the competitors in the TNT Title match as well as the Texas Death Match. Kevin Kelly & Nigel McGuinness were on commentary.

AEW TNT Title Triple Threat Match – Christian Cage defeated Luchasaurus & Darby Allin to win the title

This was a great match, with Allin in constant motion to try and overcome the handicap situation. Luchasaurus finally holding the belt he had won on the first episode of Collision, only to lose it a few minutes later was funny. I’m in favor of Cage officially being the champion, as it was basically his anyway.

Cage immediately bailed out, telling Luchasaurus to handle Allin by himself. Allin threw powder in the eyes of Luchasaurus before diving onto Cage on the floor. Allin hit a Code Red on Cage before following up with another dive on Luchasaurus. Cage rung Allin’s neck on the ropes before Luchasaurus sent Allin into the barricades.

A chair was introduced to proceedings, with Christian sitting Allin on it before choking him on the ropes. Luchasaurus sent Allin and the chair flying with a German suplex before Cage sent Luchasaurus to the floor. Cage then sneaked in a cover but only got a two-count. Cage and Luchasaurus Irish whipped Allin into the stairs as we went to a commercial break.

Allin avoided corner charges from both Luchasaurus & Cage before landing a Scorpion Death Drop on Cage. Luchasaurus pulled Cage out of the ring, but Allin followed them out with a Coffin Drop to the floor. Allin fought out of a chokeslam and hit a Stunner out of the corner before hitting Cage with a shotgun dropkick.

Luchasaurus hit a chokeslam on Allin before grabbing the TNT Title, the first time he’s held the physical title since winning it. Cage asked for the belt back as the crowd chanted That’s Your Belt at Luchasaurus. Allin sent Cage into Luchasaurus before hitting Luchasaurus with the title belt for a nearfall. Allin hit a Coffin Drop on Luchasaurus, but Cage sent Allin to the floor. Cage then covered Luchasaurus to win the match and officially win the TNT Championship.

After the match, Luchasaurus looked dejected as Cage celebrated. Luchasaurus still lifted Cage up on his shoulders as Cage raised the belt overhead.

We got a video package recapping the segment from Rampage between The Don Callis Family, Chris Jericho, & Kenny Omega. We then cut to Alex Marvez with Don Callis, Konosuke Takeshita, & Sammy Guevara. Callis isn’t worried about Kota Ibushi, because he’s got a team of Guevara, Takeshita, & the man who has beaten both Omega & Jericho in the last two months – Will Ospreay. The six-man tag is official for WrestleDream, Jericho & the Golden Lovers vs. Guevara, Takeshita, & Ospreay.

Tony Schiavone was backstage with TNT Champion Christian Cage & Luchasaurus. Cage dedicated the win to Nick Wayne’s mother and late father, as he was sure they were rooting him on. Cage believed he was done with Allin, but Schiavone announced that Cage would be defending the title against Allin in a Two Out Of Three Falls match at WrestleDream in Seattle.

Hook & Rob Van Dam defeated Matt Menard & Angelo Parker (w/ Jake Hager & Anna Jay)

Hook started with Menard, who took Hook down with an armdrag and celebrated. Jay hooked the boot of Hook, which allowed Menard & Parker to attempt a double team. Hook avoided a corner charge before tagging in RVD to a hero’s welcome in his home state. RVD dropped Menard with a spin kick before taking Parker down with a springboard back kick. RVD went for a dive, but when his targets bailed, he chose to do his RVD taunt instead as we went to a commercial break.

When we came back from the commercial, Menard & Parker were getting dispatched by Hook. Parker cut off a tag to RVD, but Hook sent him flying with an exploder suplex. RVD got the tag and ran wild, hitting the Rolling Thunder on Parker. Hager tried getting involved with a chair, but RVD kicked it in his face. Hook caught Parker in the Redrum as RVD hit the Five Star Frog Splash to score the win.

We got a video package on Eddie Kingston’s ROH World Title victory from Dynamite: Grand Slam. Kingston then challenged ROH Pure Champion Katsuyori Shibata to a match for WrestleDream, with Kingston defending both the ROH World Title & NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship.

The Dark Order had another commercial. They said that they were good and that they would be there for you. Evil Uno then, in another language, said that they wouldn’t be there for us for long.

The Kingdom were backstage, upset at the Best Friends for costing them a shot at the ROH World Tag Team Titles. They challenged the Best Friends to a tag team match next week on Collision to honor Neck Health Awareness Month.

Julia Hart (w/ Brody King) defeated Kiera Hogan

The announcers explained that Willow Nightingale was scheduled to wrestle Hart after a run-in on Rampage, but Hart misted Nightingale before the show. Hogan took her place to get revenge for her friend.

Hogan came out hot, jumping Hart at the bell. Hart came back, dropping Hogan and hitting a standing moonsault for a nearfall. Hogan fired up, but Hart dodged a hip attack in the corner. Hart hit a rabbit lariat before locking on the Rings of Saturn to score the win.

She re-applied the hold after the match before Skye Blue came to stop the attack. Hart hid behind Brody King before misting Blue in the face. King took the microphone, noting Hart’s 25-match winning streak. He said the violence would continue until Hart avenged her last loss, which came at the hands of TBS Champion Kris Statlander. The challenge was made for the TBS Title at WrestleDream before Hart warned that the House always wins.

We got a recap on The Righteous winning the #1 contender match on Rampage: Grand Slam for an ROH World Tag Team Title match. We then got a video package on The Righteous, where they spoke in riddles about Adam Cole & MJF, their opponents at WrestleDream.

Jay White (w/ Juice Robinson & The Gunns) defeated Andrade El Idolo

This was a very good television version of this match, but I think these two have bigger and better in them. With the way the finish went, I wouldn’t be surprised if we got it sometime soon. I also like them putting two names of similar stature together and having a winner, albeit not a clean winner.

Andrade looked to have control in the opening salvo, but a Robinson distraction allowed White to hit a knee to the gut. Andrade got back in the driver’s seat, hitting a top rope crossbody before hitting two of the Three Amigos. White escaped the third but got dropkicked off the top rope to the floor for his troubles.

Back in the ring, White sent Andrade into the turnbuckles before snapping off a DDT for a nearfall. White hammered Andrade with chops before sending Andrade on the apron and sending him into the barricades as we went to a commercial break.

White held control on Andrade as we came back from the break. Andrade caught White in a small package for a quick nearfall, but White cut him off with a dropkick to the knee. Andrade fought his way through a set of chops before hammering White with a lariat. They traded chops before Andrade ripped off a pair of Dragon Screw Leg Whips. Andrade hit a flying forearm that would make Manny Fernandez proud before setting up the double knees in the corner.

The Gunns yanked White out of the ring, but Andrade followed with a moonsault to all four men on the floor. White avoided a moonsault, but Andrade followed immediately with a second moonsault for a nearfall. Andrade booted White, but White hit a Saito suplex over the ropes to the floor. White hit a big uranage for a nearfall. White caught an Andrade boot and stunned his leg, but Andrade came back with a vicious back elbow for a nearfall.

Andrade hit his double knees in the corner before hitting the hammerlock DDT. Robinson grabbed White’s boot and put it on the ropes to stop the count. Andrade didn’t hesitate to lock on the Figure Eight, but The Gunns took the referee’s attention. Robinson knocked Andrade out with his “Collision Cowboy of the Month” plaque. White then lifted the prone body of Andrade up and hit the Blade Runner for the win.

We got a video package of Ortiz, giving his side of the story after his confrontation with Mike Santana on Rampage. Ortiz said that Santana used him to get on the All In Wembley card, then avoided him in person. Santana talked trash about him on social media, but when Ortiz confronted him, he ran from his problems. Ortiz said that he wouldn’t be able to run much longer.

Shane Taylor & Lee Moriarty were backstage. Taylor talked about his history with Keith Lee, noting their successful team in Ring of Honor before Lee left to go “work for the other billionaire.” Taylor said that he stayed in Ring of Honor and became a legend in that promotion. Taylor said that he would put Lee in the ground to provide for his family, but before then, Lee would face off against Moriarty.

AEW World Tag Team Title Match – FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) defeated The WorkHorsemen (Anthony Henry & JD Drake) to retain

A short showcase for the Workhorsemen, who have been highlights of Ring of Honor television. They made the most of their time here, getting an incredibly convincing nearfall on the champs even with a booked title match for WrestleDream. I would love to see more of them on AEW television to give more depth to the tag team division.

Aussie Open came out and joined commentary for this match. Henry started with Wheeler. Henry used his speed to hit Wheeler with a dropkick. Drake and Harwood tagged in and leathered each other with chops. Henry came in and laid in kicks to Harwood, but Harwood came back with chops and a brainbuster. Drake tagged in and hit a Shining Wizard and a cannonball to Harwood.

Henry hit a double stomp to Harwood, with Drake following up with a moonsault for a close nearfall. Wheeler dropped Henry on the apron with a Gory Bomb. In the ring, Drake went for a hurricanrana but Harwood dropped him with a powerbomb. He locked on the Sharpshooter to win and retain the titles.

After the match, Mark Davis said that in eight days, FTR was in for the fight of their lives. Kyle Fletcher said that they haven’t lived up to the hype yet, which is why they made the challenge to FTR. Aussie Open wanted to prove that they are everything they say they are. Harwood took the mic, saying that Aussie Open had been sacrificial lambs to a pair of friends. He got on his hands and knees and begged Aussie Open to bring their best. He said if they didn’t, they might as well not bother showing up. Top Guys out.

Lexy Nair was backstage with The Hot and Flexible CJ, who talked about her husband Miro avoiding temptation. Miro entered, stating that CJ’s temptation was the spotlight. CJ said that she loved the grind. Miro said that his path was salvation and that she might end up in his way. CJ understood before asking Miro to stay away from any future clients of hers. Miro left without responding.

We got a rundown of the Dynamite card, with the addition of Willow Nightingale vs. Julia Hart. Next week on Collision, we will get Andrade El Idolo vs. Juice Robinson, as well as The Kingdom vs. Best Friends. We then got a commercial for WrestleDream before Kevin Kelly ran down the card, with Kris Statlander vs. Julia Hart for the TBS Championship made official.

Texas Death Match – Bryan Danielson defeated Ricky Starks

Danielson and Starks have fantastic chemistry, and it displayed itself here in this vicious and bloody main event. Starks looked to be burying the hatchet post-match, but Wheeler Yuta shut it down. Starks may not be done with the BCC just yet.

Jim Ross joined commentary for the main event. The rules were Last Man Standing-style rules, with the man who couldn’t answer a ten-count losing.

Starks jumped Danielson at the bell. Danielson sent Starks to the floor and hit a dive before sending Starks into the crowd. Danielson dumped a garbage can onto Starks before laying in kicks as Starks laid on the stairs. The two men brawled through the crowd before getting back to ringside. Starks whipped Danielson into the front row before hitting a springboard dive onto Danielson and staff members at ringside.

After a commercial break, Starks bloodied up Danielson after sending him into the announce table cover multiple times. A replay showed Starks drilling Danielson in the head with the ring bell. Watch that throat Starks, you don’t want Ricky Steamboat back out here. Starks wrapped Danielson’s knee around the post before hitting the knee with a chair. Starks went to Pillmanize Danielson’s ankle, but Danielson took the chair and hammered Starks with it.

Danielson met Starks on the top rope, where Starks bit Danielson’s wound. Starks took a second to pose, which allowed Danielson to hit a Spider Suplex out of the corner. Danielson followed up with a shotgun dropkick off the top rope before clubbing Starks with big kicks. Danielson loaded up for the Busaiku Knee, but Starks flung the chair into Danielson’s face. Starks taunted Danielson as we went to another commercial.

Starks had a steel chain as we came back, but Danielson avoided a shot and laid in kicks to the midsection. Starks came back with a spear before attempting to choke Danielson out with the chain. Starks relented to allow for a count. Danielson got up at nine, so Starks hung Danielson over his back. Danielson used the turnbuckles to vaunt over Starks, then caught Starks in the LeBell Lock.
