X-Pac says he was assaulted, stalked by fans during WWE WrestleMania weekend

Sean “X-Pac” Waltman also experienced some issues with fans at WWE WrestleMania 42 weekend.

In the aftermath of WrestleMania, one of the biggest stories has been the lack of effective security at the MGM Grand hotel, where WWE talent were staying in Las Vegas. CM Punk got into an altercation with a fan who followed AJ Lee & Bayley and was trying to film them. Booker T said the fan situation was the worst he’s ever seen, with one person even filming him in the bathroom.

Waltman posted a tweet today saying a fan stalked him in the bathroom as well, and Waltman also got “physically assaulted” and had a camera shoved in his face during the weekend.

“That guy & all the rest like him can get f***ed,” Waltman tweeted about the fan from the Punk incident. “It was insane how these people were. I got physically assaulted & camera shoved in my face, stalked in the bathroom, & more.”

In a follow-up tweet, Waltman added that he doesn’t have a problem with fans recording or taking pictures in public but takes issue when they invade wrestlers’ personal space. He added that the situation at the Horseshoe, a different hotel in Vegas where WrestleCon was held, was much better with fans being “totally respectful.”

The biggest security issue seems to be that not enough was done at the MGM Grand to protect wrestlers while they were in spaces where fans would be present like the hotel lobby.

Waltman, a Hall of Famer himself as a member of D-X and the nWo, helped induct NBA legend Dennis Rodman into the WWE Hall of Fame last weekend. Waltman also helps out behind the scenes in WWE by coaching indie talent in the ID program.

WWE NXT live results: Eric Bischoff, X-Pac appear on Deadline go-home show

WWE NXT wraps up its build to Deadline tonight with a couple of Hall of Famers set to appear.

Eric Bischoff and Sean “X-Pac” Waltman have both been announced for tonight’s NXT episode. While not much is known about X-Pac’s appearance, it’s been confirmed that Bischoff will be meeting with NXT Champion Trick Williams and Ridge Holland ahead of their title match this Saturday.

The final two Iron Survivor Challenge spots for Deadline will be up for grabs in last-chance qualifying matches. Cora Jade vs. Kelani Jordan vs. Jaida Parker vs. Wren Sinclair is the women’s qualifier. On the men’s side, it’s Axiom vs. Lexis King vs. Eddy Thorpe vs. Cedric Alexander.

A tag team battle royal takes place tonight with the winners earning a title shot against Axiom & Nathan Frazer at Deadline. Plus, Gigi Dolin will be in action after making her return last week.

Join us for live coverage starting at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

**********

NXT is on the air with a show taped in front of a live studio audience from a sound stage the Performance Center in Orlando. Opening the show is a last chance qualifier.

On commentary is Vic Joseph and Booker T, and the ring announcer is Mike Rome. Sarah Schreiber is in the Mean Gene role doing backstage interviews.

Wren Sinclair (with Charlie Dempsey) defeated Cora Jade and Kelani Jordan and Jaida Parker in a fatal four-way match to qualify for the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge.

Sinclair pinned Jade, thanks in large part to outside interference by Lola Vice. Jordan and Jade are also doing a program in a subplot, seemingly setting up a match between them in the near future.

Jordan got to shine with several high spots, like a quebrada off the barricade around ringside. But it was Parker in control as the show cut to its first commercial break. Parker stacks Sinclair and Jade in the ropes and Parker drops a bomb on both. Parker boasts with a dance that is shown on replay just before the show goes into the break.

They come back from the break with an awkward Tower of Doom spot, and they go into a series of near falls. They took turns breaking up the pinning attempts. Sit-out powerbombs, Swanton Bombs, Falcon Arrows, and frog splashes are just some of the big moves.

Just before they go home, Jordan does a 450 splash. Parker breaks up Jordan’s pin on Jade. In a call back to earlier in the match, Parker then goes to stack Jordan in a corner. Suddenly, Lola Vice on the apron. Vice goes to throw a spinning back fist at Parker. Ducking the back fist, Parker avoids Vice’s attack, but Sinclair is inadvertently struck by Vice’s back fist. Sinclair falls like a stone, landing on a fallen Jade. Sinclair is out, but she is in a pinning combination. The referee counts a pinfall on Jade. Meanwhile, Vice drags Parker out of the ring. Fluke win by Sinclair, but she nevertheless qualifies for the Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline.

Sarah Schreiber interviews Eddy Thorpe in a backstage area. He has a fair chance tonight, and he vows to win. Up walks Lexis King to interrupt the interview, telling Thorpe to control his temper. King makes a wisecrack about Thorpe being a “loose cannon,” and Thorpe responds by saying King has “daddy issues.”

Out comes an angry Jaida Parker, with a microphone in one hand and a brick in the other. Parker is yelling for to take down the ring ropes. Parker is calling out Vice for an Underground match. The show cuts to a commercial break just as Parker hijacks the show. This leads to an Underground match being added to the Deadline card.

Back from commercials, and Parker is in the ring calling out Vice. Referees around the ring taking down the ropes. Out comes NXT General Manager Ava, and she tells Parker she can have an Underground match. Just not tonight. Ava says Parker cannot wrestle twice in one night.

Lola Vice storms back onto the sound stage and she is yelling for Parker. Vice confronts Parker in the ring. The GM seems powerless to stop an altercation. Parker tossed the brick to Vice, but that was a diversion. Parker then drops Vice with a roaring elbow. Vice is knocked out as Parker stands over her. Parker against Vice in the Underground at Deadline is set.

Karmen Petrovic is chatting backstage with Dion Lennox and Brinley Reece, when Petrovice gets roses from Ashante “Thee” Adonis. The romance continues.

Myles Borne wins a Number One Contenders’ Tag Team Battle Royal

Myles Borne wins the battle royal, which makes the No Quarter Catch Crew the number one contenders for the tag team titles. Borne and Tavion Heights will challenge for the NXT Tag Team Championship at Deadline against champions Nathan Frazier & Axiom.

Unlike other tag team battle royals, an elimination of one team member does not mean both teammates are eliminated. The last man in the ring wins the match her his team. The final three are Borne, Tank Ledger, and Lucien Price. Borne clotheslines Tank over the top rope, and then Borne dropkicks Price off the turnbuckles.

Eric Bischoff hosts a face-to-face confrontation with NXT Champion Trick Williams and challenger Ridge Holland

Bischoff does a good job of hosting this segment and hyping it up. The confrontation between champion and challenger led to a brawl and an injury angle. Trick Williams leaves on a stretcher after Holland uses his DDT finisher to spike Williams on the announce desk.

Before the injury angle came walking and talking, as Bischoff enters the soundstage. He is joined by his guests, and promos are cut. Holland and Williams trade barbs. They then get into a brawl. The fighting spills outside the ring. Holland smashes Williams into the ring steps, and then Holland gives Williams an implant DDT on the announce desk. The desk did not break, and they sold it like Willaims was seriously injured from the spot. A stretcher is wheeled out for Williams.

After a commercial break, Williams is shown being taken out on a stretcher. Reporter Sarah Schreiber offers an update from Ava, who was unsure what potential injury means for the NXT Championship match at Deadline. Thanks for the update, I guess.

Karmen Petrovic defeated Nikkita Lyons

Petrovic pinned Lyons after the “Silent Slice” kick. Ashante “Thee” Adonis becomes involved in the match just before the finish, and Petrovic is angry with him for pushing her. He was seemingly trying to save her, but that is not how it worked out. Nonetheless, Petrovic perseveres to deliver the Silent Slice.

Shawn Spears talks with Brooks Jensen and Niko Vance. Spears is playing the long game. Whatever that means in NXT. This skit made Spears look foolish, as both Tatum Paxley and Gigi Dolan clown on him. This leads to Spears scouting the next match. Whatever that means.

Gigi Dolan (with Tatum Paxley) defeated Izzi Dame

Dame fought valiantly, and she got a lot of offense. In WWE logic, that foreshadowed the outcome where Dolan wins in the end. Dolan won via pinfall after a “Gigi Driver” finish. Paxley became involved during the match, and she takes a bump for Dame. Spears is in the aisle for much of the match being creepy as heck as he watches on.

Sean “X-Pac” Waltman, in a cameo appearance, joins Je’Von Evans for a backstage interview. X-Pac says he was the same age as Evans when Waltman beat Razor Ramon. Evans goes to shake hands with Waltman, but X-Pac wants to “Too Sweet” instead.

Eddy Thorpe defeated Axiom and Lexis King and Cedric Alexander in a fatal four-way match to qualify for the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge

Several wrestlers are on hand watching the match. Ethan Page is providing guest commentary at the announce desk. Je’Von Evans is watching among the studio audience, while Wes Lee is Crow Sting (as he watching from a platform overlooking the ring).

Thorpe pinned King, after stealing a pinfall from Axiom. Just as they go home, Axiom delivers the “Golden Ratio” to King. Axiom seemingly has a pinfall, but Thorpe pulls Axiom out of the ring NWO style. Thorpe then jumps into the ring to cover King for a three count. In winning, Thorpe becomes the final qualifier for the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge. The first part of the match, before the commercial break, was okay. After the break, the match greatly heats up and the action intensifies.

GM Ava is FaceTiming with Stevie Turner and Robert Stone. Ava insists the NXT title match at Deadline will go on as plans, despite Trick being injured in the brawl earlier tonight.

Thorpe also cuts a promo on Turner and Stone.

NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez get into the ring, wearing street clothes and the NXT title over he shoulder. Perez cuts a heckuava promo, and she also cuts promos on all of the participants of the Iron Survivor Challenge.

This all leads to Sol Ruca, Zaria, Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia all coming out to confront each other and Perez. A brawl erupts between the four women. Meanwhile, Wren Sinclair lays out Perez. Sinclair then stands over Perez while holding the title belt overhead.

TO THE BACK, where Eddy Thorpe is laid out after being jumped by a mystery assailant. The show ends with a Tonya Harding angle on this go-home episode of NXT.

X-Pac and Eric Bischoff to appear on next week’s WWE NXT

A pair of WWE Hall of Famers will appear on the December 3 NXT TV.

Sean “X-Pac” Waltman and Eric Bischoff are set for special appearances on the Tuesday, December 3 episode as announced during this week’s show.

Bischoff appeared on the video wall during Tuesday’s WWE NXT show from his home in Cody, Wyoming, interrupting a back-and-forth between NXT Champion Trick Williams and his Deadline challenger Ridge Holland. Bischoff stated that he will be there next week to mediate a face-to-face between the two.

Later in Tuesday’s show, a social media post from X-Pac was show, announcing his appearance:

Four matches are also official for next week’s go-home edition of WWE NXT.

The final Iron Survivor Challenge qualifying matches will take place with a pair of “last chance” four-ways set between the losers of the previous qualifying bouts. On the men’s side, it will be Axiom vs. Cedric Alexander vs. Eddy Thorpe vs. Lexis King, while Kelani Jordan vs. Cora Jade vs. Jaida Parker vs. Wren Sinclair is the last chance women’s qualifying bout.

A tag team number one contender’s battle royal will also be held next week, with the winners to earn a title shot at Nathan Frazer & Axiom at Deadline.

Nikkita Lyons vs. Karmen Petrovic is also set for next week following a backstage argument between the two on this week’s show.

The lineup for the Tuesday, December 3 WWE NXT, the go-home show for the Saturday, December 7 Deadline PLE:

  • WWE Hall of Famer X-Pac appears
  • WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff mediates a face-to-face between NXT Champion Trick Williams & Ridge Holland
  • Tag Team title number one contender’s battle royal
  • Nikkita Lyons vs. Karmen Petrovic

X-Pac says there’s ‘zero chance’ he’ll be in WWE Royal Rumble

Sean “X-Pac” Waltman is claiming that there’s no chance he’ll be in the 2024 Royal Rumble.

Though he’s been rumored as a potential surprise entrant, Waltman posted a tweet on Thursday saying that there’s “zero chance” he’ll be in the Royal Rumble. Waltman said he can still go in the ring at least for a few minutes, but he won’t be able to get in shape in time for the Rumble.

Waltman wrote:

I can still go at the drop of hat, at least for a few minutes. I can do all my kicks, except the one in the corner & I can do that again with a few weeks training. I’m at least month away from taking my shirt off in public, so zero chance I’ll be in the Rumble.

PWInsider reported on January 2 that there was word going around the WWE Performance Center that Waltman would be at the facility that week.

Waltman hasn’t wrestled since facing Joey Janela at Joey Janela’s Spring Break 6 in 2022. He worked that match with a torn biceps.

In 2019, Waltman was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of D-Generation X.

Royal Rumble 2024 is being held at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida on Saturday, January 27. Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Lashley, and Drew McIntyre are the first five wreslers who have been confirmed for the men’s Rumble match.

Bayley, Nia Jax, Becky Lynch, and Bianca Belair have been announced for the women’s Rumble.

Billy Gunn says AEW reached out to Sean ‘X-Pac’ Waltman

Sean Waltman is reportedly training for an in-ring return and some wouldn’t be surprised to see that take place in AEW.

Speculation regarding Waltman and AEW started following an interview Billy Gunn gave to Sportskeeda on Sunday. Gunn told the outlet that AEW has reached out to Waltman previously about coming in.

Our own Dave Meltzer would later clarify that there were discussions between Waltman and AEW in May and October of 2022 but nothing recently.

Gunn said:

I think we’ve tried to get Sean in here a couple of times. Things just didn’t work out but I think, if the time’s right, I think he would be a great asset because he still has huge popularity and everybody knows him and he’s such a good guy that he would not only help the younger talent as well as be a good representative for our company and he’d be amazing if we could get him here.

According to a report from Nick Hausman, sources close to Waltman “would not be surprised” to see him end up in AEW at some point. However, it was noted that Waltman is not interested in only doing a one-off with the promotion.

Hausman wrote:

Waltman is in the process of getting back into ring shape and those close to him told us they would not be surprised if he showed up in AEW.

Waltman hasn’t wrestled since working a couple of matches with GCW in early 2022. He teamed with Joey Janela and defeated Brian Myers & Matt Cardona at Welcome to Heartbreak on February 25, 2022. He then was defeated by Janela the following month at Spring Break 6 in a match that Waltman worked with a torn biceps

X-Pac worked GCW Spring Break with torn biceps, will require surgery

Sean “X-Pac” Waltman says he worked Thursday’s GCW Joey Janela’s Spring Break 6 Part 1 with a torn biceps.

Following his match against Janela on the show, Waltman posted to social media and revealed he suffered the injury at GCW Welcome to Heartbreak on February 25. He teamed with Janela that night and defeated Matt Cardona & Brian Myers. Janela then turned on him in a post-match angle that led to them facing each other on Thursday’s show.

Waltman also noted that the injury will require surgery but he does plan on returning to the ring for a few more matches.

“I tried to keep this on the down-low, but I tore my bicep in the tag match a month ago. I’m going to have surgery soon & then have a few more matches,” Waltman wrote.

Waltman’s GCW debut in February was his first match in nearly three years. He hadn’t wrestled since the WrestleCon Mark Hitchcock Memorial SuperShow on April 4, 2019.

X-Pac vs. Joey Janela confirmed for GCW Spring Break 6

Sean “X-Pac” Waltman and Joey Janela will face off as part of The Collective during WrestleMania week.

After a challenge that was issued by Waltman last weekend, it’s been confirmed that Waltman vs. Janela will take place at Joey Janela’s Spring Break 6 part one on Thursday, March 31. The show is being held at Fair Park in Dallas, Texas and will air live on Fite TV.

Janela and Waltman teamed together last Friday night at GCW Welcome to Heartbreak. Following their victory over Matt Cardona & Brian Myers, Waltman told the fans that it had been his final match. As Waltman continued to address the crowd, Janela turned against Waltman by superkicking him.

Waltman then issued the challenge for Spring Break at GCW The Coldest Winter on Saturday.

Welcome to Heartbreak was the first time Waltman has wrestled since 2019.

The updated lineup for Spring Break 6 part one is as follows:

  • GCW World Champion Jon Moxley defends against AJ Gray
  • X-Pac vs. Joey Janela
  • GCW Ultraviolent Champion Alex Colon defends against John Wayne Murdoch

X-Pac challenges Joey Janela for GCW Spring Break 6

Sean “X-Pac” Waltman has challenged Joey Janela to a match at GCW’s Spring Break 6 event during WrestleMania weekend.

Waltman issued the challenge on tonight’s GCW The Coldest Winter from Los Angeles. Janela kicked off tonight’s show with an in-ring promo explaining his actions, saying that he doesn’t get enough credit for being unselfish in GCW. Waltman then confronted him and challenged him to the match for the first night of Spring Break.

One night earlier, Janela and Waltman teamed together and defeated Brian Myers and Matt Cardona. Waltman spoke to the crowd after and said that it had been his final match. As Waltman was still speaking, Janela superkicked him, turning against his partner in a show-closing angle.

The first night of the two-part event is scheduled for March 31st from Fair Park in Dallas, Texas. The following night, Spring Break 6 Part 2, will take place from the same venue.

Also on tonight’s show, Mance Warner issued a challenge to GCW Tag Team Champions Nick Gage and Matt Tremont on behalf of himself and Matthew Justice. Warner hasn’t wrestled since undergoing surgery to repair a broken tibia and a broken fibula last November. Warner said he doesn’t want the match to take place at Spring Break, however, but rather at GCW Astronaut on March 12th from Atlanta.

They also announced a show from the Roxy Theater in Los Angeles on March 24th.

Results from GCW The Coldest Winter are below:

  • Ninja Mack defeated Jack Cartwheel
  • Jordan Oliver defeated Dark Sheik
  • Thunder Rosa defeated Tony Deppen
  • Jimmy Lloyd defeated Alex Zayn in a Do or Die Deathmatch
  • Bussy (Effy & Allie Katch) & The Second Gear Crew (AJ Gray & Matthew Justice) defeated Team LA Fights
  • Kevin Blackwood defeated Grim Reefer
  • Gringo Loco defeated Mascara Dorada
  • Blake Christian defeated “Speedball” Mike Bailey

GCW Welcome to Heartbreak notes: AJ Gray challenges Jon Moxley, Janela attacks X-Pac

GCW’s Welcome to Heartbreak on Saturday night featured multiple angles setting up matches for The Collective events during WrestleMania weekend.

AJ Gray called out Jon Moxley for Spring Break, while the show closing angle saw Joey Janela turn on tag team partner Sean “X-Pac” Waltman.

Gray called for a match with Jon Moxley at Joey Janela’s Spring Break after he defeated ACH on tonight’s show. Gray won the Grab the Brass Ring ladder match at the WRLD on GCW last month which allows him to choose any match he wants at any time.

The show also featured the in-ring return of Waltman, wrestling his first match since April 2019. Following he and Janela’s victory over Matt Cardona and Brian Myers, X-Pac announced it had would be his last match. As he continued to address the crowd, however, Janela superkicked him, turning on his partner.

Cardona also interrupted a Chris Dickinson promo that took place on the show. Dickinson got in Cardona’s face and challenged him to a match at Spring Break.

Elsewhere on the show, The Briscoes called for a rematch with Nick Gage and Matt Tremont. It was noted on commentary that the match will happen at some point during The Collective. Gage and Tremont defeated the Briscoes for the GCW Tag Team Championships at the WRLD on GCW that went less than six minutes due to time constraints.

GCW Welcome to Heartbreak live results: X-Pac & Joey Janela vs. Matt Cardona & Brian Myers

For the first time since April 2019, Sean “X-Pac” Waltman will return to the ring, teaming with Joey Janelas against Matt Cardona and Brian Myers at GCW Welcome to Heartbreak.

The tag team match was born out of last month’s Wrld on GCW where Waltman made a surprise appearance and ran out to make the save for Janela after Myers helped Cardona beat Janela in a singles match.

The GCW Extreme title will be on the line as AJ Gray takes on ACH, an injury substitution for Lio Rush.

The Briscoes will look to go 2-0 since losing the GCW Tag Team titles at Wrld on GCW when they take on former MLW Champion Jacob Fatu and Juicy Finau.

In a battle of ring veterans, Mexican star Dr. Wagner Jr. returns for his second taste of GCW action against Indie Hall-of-Famer Homicide.

The rest of the card features Blake Christian vs. Nick Wayne, Tony Deppen against Kevin Blackwood and “Speedball” Mike Bailey vs. Ninja Mack.

Chris Dickinson will also return to GCW for his first appearance since badly injuring his hip last year.

**********

The Briscoes (Jay Briscoe & Mark Briscoe) defeated Jacob Fatu & Juicy Finau

We kicked things off with the Briscoes taking on Jacob Fatu & Juicy Finau. Fatu jumped Mark before the bell, giving him the early advantage.

The Briscoes fought back but Finau cut off their momentum after giving Mark a Samoan Drop onto a chair. This allowed Fatu and Finau a 2-on-1 advantage against Jay. They then took turns giving him big power moves.

Once Mark recovered, the Briscoes got back into things. Mark hit a dive to the outside on Finau that sent them barreling over top of a few rows of chairs. Fatu would then put Jay through a table shortly after. He then gave Mark a pop-up Samoan Drop and the heels were back in control again. Finau then hit a running senton and Fatu hit one from the top rope for a near fall.

As the match spilled back to the outside, Mark set up Finau in a seated position on a chair. Mark then dove onto him with an elbow from the second rope and completely obliterated somebody’s chair.

At this point, Starboy Charlie appeared in the crowd on crutches. It was an attack from Fatu and Finau that led to his injury. Finau shoved him and Charlie responded by hitting him with his crutch. Charlie then dove off the stage onto both Fatu and Finau. Then the Briscoes collected their opponents and threw them back in the ring.

The Briscoes then hammered both with broken doors parts and chairs. They set up Finau on top of a door and Mark came off the ropes with his Froggy Elbow for the win.

After the match, the Briscoes cut a promo. Jay said they want a rematch against Nick Gage and Matt Tremont for the tag titles. It was noted on commentary that the match will happen at some point during the Collective. They didn’t mention it, but I’m assuming the match will not have to go off the air by 11 that night.

Blake Christian defeated Nick Wayne

They started off slow with some grappling exchanges. They had a really great sequence of pinning combinations during these early moments. They also went through a sequence of reversals that was very impressive. The pace then started to really pick up after this.

Christian got the first period of sustained offense after hitting an inverted atomic drop followed by a dropkick. Wayne eventually got back into things and reversed a springboard cutter into a blue thunder power bomb. He’d miss a double foot stomp shortly after, however, and Christian went back on offense. He’d get a near fall off a power bomb moments later.

They began exchanging strikes from their knees in the middle of the ring. Christian then hit a snap dragon suplex but Wayne came back with a stunner immediately after. Christian then gave Wayne a second-rope belly-to-back suplex and both men were down.

They exchanged reversals for a period until Wayne got a 2 count off a fisherman suplex. He got another one after hitting a senton from the top. Christian then came back and hit a reverse Spanish Fly. He got a near fall after a springboard 450 splash shortly after.

They wound up exchanging strikes on the ring apron. Christian ended up countering a cutter into a tombstone piledriver and Wayne fell to the floor. This allowed Christian time to set up a door on a series of chairs. He then collected Wayne, tossed him back in the ring, and placed him on the top turnbuckle. Wayne shoved him off the ropes and then hit him with a cutter, driving Christian through the door.

Throughout the match each had countered the others finisher multiple times. Christian countered Wayne’s springboard cutter and Wayne countered Christian’s big DDT. The final moments of this match saw each reverse the other’s move multiple times until finally Christian hit his DDT and got the 3 count. That was a fun match.

Tony Deppen defeated Kevin Blackwood

They spent some time grappling to start the match. Then the pace picked up and Blackwood got a 2 count after a suplex. Deppen would then take the advantage after yanking Blackwood’s arm down on the ropes moments after. He then went on offense as the crowd really got on Deppen. He responded by mooning them.

Deppen missed a double foot stomp from the top and began to sell his leg. Blackwood would hit a series of 7 German suplexes shortly after. And with that, Blackwood took control of the match.

Deppen got back into things later after shooting a “snot rocket” at Blackwood and kicking him in the face. They then had a sequence where they exchanged suplexes followed by a sequence exchanging strikes. Deppen hit a brainbuster and both men were down.

Blackwood countered another double foot stomp attempt into something of a modified cloverleaf. He then hit a tombstone on Deppen for a 2 count. Deppen got back into things after locking in a chicken wing. He ended changing course and kneeing Blackwood in the head several times before locking in cattle mutilation and getting the tap out. This was good. Deppen is a fun heel in GCW.

Mike Bailey defeated Ninja Mack

A very respectful start between the two martial artists. They bowed and shook hands before starting. They evaded each other’s strikes early and eventually things spilled to the outside. They exchanged strikes ringside until eventually Mack brought a door into things.

Mack took too much time setting the door up on a series of chairs and Bailey attacked, eventually hitting a double knee drop on his opponent’s back.

As they got back into the ring, Bailey locked in a single-leg crab but Mack was able to crawl to the rope. Bailey was in full control at this point, however.

Mack would get back into things before they exchanged topes to the outside. Bailey then hit a moonsault to the outside on his opponent. Mack would follow this up by hitting a dive to the outside after a series of flips in the ring.

At this point, Mack grabbed a huge ladder from the back of the room and started to climb to the very top of the venue. He stood atop a ledge on the wall that was maybe 12 feet (described as 12-15 feet on commentary) above the ground and not very wide . They then exchanged kicks up there as they struggled to maintain their balance. This is nuts, I’m mildly concerned. Bailey then gave Mack the Crane kick and Mack fell off and through the table he set up earlier!

Bailey picked Mack up and carried him back to the ring. He delivered a big head kick for a near fall. Mack fought back and went for a dive but Bailey got his knees up. Bailey then landed a head kick in the corner and followed that up with driver for the win.

This was great and stuck out for being unique. The way the martial arts style of both wrestlers matched up was really fun. The two of them exchanging strikes 12-feet off the ground was a really cool sight.

GCW Extreme Champion AJ Gray defeated ACH to retain his title.

Slow start with each guy feeling each other out. ACH then hit a standing dropkick and the match spilled to the outside. Gray gave ACH a slingshot into the ring post. They then exchanged chops all around ringside until ACH hit a snap suplex.

As the match got back in the ring, Gray hit a rolling heel kick and both men were down. ACH then hit a deadlift German suplex for a 2 count. Gray hit a choke slam and power bomb shortly after and also got a 2 count. He then missed a moonsault and once again both men were down.

ACH hit a big frog splash for a 2 count. He then hit a tope and they landed a few rows deep on the outside. ACH got another near fall after a brainbuster before going to the top rope. He went for his frog splash again but this time missed and Gray hit a big clothesline. ACH kicked out at 1 but Gray followed that up with another clothesline and then a slam for the win.

Gray got on the microphone after the match. He praised ACH and then reminded everyone he won the brass ring match and can now have whatever match he wants. He then called out Jon Moxley. Commentary noted he was calling him out for Joey Janela’s Spring Break. Moxley vs AJ Gray in GCW should be something.

Dr. Wagner Jr. defeated Homicide

Nick Gage joined the commentary team for this one. Before the match, Wagner pretended as though he was going to throw his mask in the crowd but then just handed it to the ref. Crowd did not like this.

The match spilled to the outside early. As they were brawling on the outside, Wagner went on the attack with someone’s crutch. Wagner rolled Homicide back in the ring and maintained control, hitting his opponent with a chair.

Homicide eventually started to come back and hit an exploder suplex. Wagner rolled to the floor but Homicide hit him with a dive to the floor. Back in the ring, Homicide missed a diving headbutt and Wagner capitalized.

Wagner went for a double underhook something but Homicide countered and hit a cutter. Homicide missed a charge into the corner moments later and went head first into a chair that had been set up. Wagner then hit the Wagner Driver for the win.

Wagner got on the microphone after the match and called Psycho Clown a liar. A translator then came out and explained to the fans in English that while Psycho Clown took his mask, he didn’t take his pride. Wagner then said he’s put his hair on the line against Psycho’s mask. There was also a lot of referring to the fans as dumbasses. Looks like we will have a mask vs hair match in GCW between Psycho Clown and Dr. Wagner Jr. in GCW.

Second Gear Crew & Friends (Allie Katch, Dark Sheik, Gringo Loco, Matthew Justice) defeated Team Reefer (Joran Oliver, Jimmy Lloyd, Jack Cartwheel, Grim Reefer)

This match had earlier been advertised as a scramble but we ended up with an 8-person tag instead. Veda Scott joined the commentary team here.

Jack Cartwheel got in an early period to shine. He hit a Sasuke special to the outside on his opponents. This led to Reefer lighting a joint before delivering a cannonball off the top rope.

Reefer and Justice then shared the joint despite being on opposite teams. Justice took a few puffs before kicking Reefer in the stomach and clotheslining him out of the ring.

Katch and Oliver each had opponents in a Boston crab when they started to exchanges strikes between the two of them at one point.

Sheik got a two count on Cartwheel after a driver. Lloyd then delivered a package piledriver on Sheik for a near fall. Moments later, Justice and Loco came off the top with a leg drop splash combo on Lloyd but Oliver broke up the pin.

Cartwheel hit a cartwheel Death Valley driver on Sheik. He then missed a dive off the top and got speared through the door by Justice. Katch then gave Lloyd a piledriver, taking him out of things. Then Loco hit Cartwheel with a power bomb off the top rope and got the pin.

Chris Dickinson promo

Dickinson spoke about coming back from injury earlier than expected. He said he has unfinished business in GCW and especially in Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport. Dickinson then pointed at Barnett in the crowd. He told Barnett to get Suzuki to face him “one last time” at Bloodsport 8.

Matt Cardona, Brian Myers, and Chelsea Green then interrupted. Myers ran down Dickinson a little. Cardona then got on the mic and ran down on the titles he currently has. He then said he doesn’t even know who Dickinson is. Dickinson then got in his face and challenged him to a match at Spring Break.

X-Pac & Joey Janela  defeated The Major Players (Matt Cardona & Brian Myers)

X-Pac got a big reaction from the fans. He was mobbed on his way to the ring. Janela got in some early offense on both Myers and Cardona. Then Cardona pointed at Pac and said he wanted him in the ring. Pac tagged in and got a nice round of cheers.

Pac hit a belly to back suplex followed by his running leg drop. He then hit him with a dropkick in the corner that set Cardona up for the Bronco Buster. Myers pulled his partner to safety, however.

Janela and Pac then did some double team work on Cardona. Myers then distracted Pac from the ring apron and Cardona attacked him from behind. This led to the heels going on offense for a period working on Pac.

Janela tagged in and took out both Myers and Cardona. He hit a Death Valley driver on Myers for a 2 count. The heels turned the tables shortly after when Chelsea Green hit Janela with a Canadian Destroyer while the referee was distracted with Myers. Cardona hit his old Broski Boot for a two count. Cardona and Myers then worked on Janela for a period.

Janela hit a sunset flip power bomb on Myers before making the hot tag into Pac, who took out both Major Players with kicks, leg lariats, and a power bomb on Cardona. He then hit the Bronco Buster on Cardona in the corner. He went to give Myers the same treatment but Myers got his boot up. Janela then came in and all 4 of them traded punches.

Myers and Cardona set up a table on some chairs in the ring. Cardona went to give Janela the Zack Rider but missed and put Myers through the door instead. Janela hit a tope on Cardona moments later, tossed him in the ring, and Pac hit him with the X-Factor. Janela then hit the flying elbow drop but Cardona got his shoulder up at 2 on the pin.

Cardona would use a chair to take out both Janela and Pac. They then went to put Pac through a door but he fought back, then kicked the ropes to knock Chelsea off the ring apron. Pac then hit an X-factor on Myers through the door and got the pin.

I was really interested to see how X-Pac looked in this match. Much of his offense looked the same as it ever did and there were some fun spots. He was really tired at the end of the match, though.

He got on the mic after and thanked the fans and roster. Pac then said that this was his last match. He can’t think of a better place to do it then in GCW. Janela then super kicked him out of nowhere, a big heel turn to close out the show! The show ended with the commentary team in dismay.

X-Pac, Brian Myers appear at The Wrld on GCW

Sean “X-Pac” Waltman and Brian Myers were among the many outsiders who were involved in Matt Cardona vs. Joey Janela and its aftermath at The Wrld on GCW.

Waltman, Myers, Chelsea Green, Hornswoggle, Marko Stunt, Virgil, and Mark Sterling all made appearances either during Cardona vs. Janela or immediately following the contest. X-Pac and Myers were the focus, however, and a Janela and Waltman vs. Cardona and Myers tag team bout was teased for a future GCW event.

Myers attacked Janela while paying tribute to the Edge/John Cena/Rob Van Dam angle from ECW One Night Stand 2006, leading to Cardona pinning Janela. Waltman then appeared and cleared the ring. He teased landing a Bronco Buster, but Myers and Cardona escaped. Waltman then celebrated with Janela in the ring.

The cameos were not limited to the Cardona vs. Janela contest.

ECW mainstays Sabu, Bill Alfonso, and GCW regulars Mance Warner and Atticus Cogar also made special appearances in the very next segment.
