X-Pac says he was assaulted, stalked by fans during WWE WrestleMania weekend

Sean “X-Pac” Waltman also experienced some issues with fans at WWE WrestleMania 42 weekend.

In the aftermath of WrestleMania, one of the biggest stories has been the lack of effective security at the MGM Grand hotel, where WWE talent were staying in Las Vegas. CM Punk got into an altercation with a fan who followed AJ Lee & Bayley and was trying to film them. Booker T said the fan situation was the worst he’s ever seen, with one person even filming him in the bathroom.

Waltman posted a tweet today saying a fan stalked him in the bathroom as well, and Waltman also got “physically assaulted” and had a camera shoved in his face during the weekend.

“That guy & all the rest like him can get f***ed,” Waltman tweeted about the fan from the Punk incident. “It was insane how these people were. I got physically assaulted & camera shoved in my face, stalked in the bathroom, & more.”

In a follow-up tweet, Waltman added that he doesn’t have a problem with fans recording or taking pictures in public but takes issue when they invade wrestlers’ personal space. He added that the situation at the Horseshoe, a different hotel in Vegas where WrestleCon was held, was much better with fans being “totally respectful.”

The biggest security issue seems to be that not enough was done at the MGM Grand to protect wrestlers while they were in spaces where fans would be present like the hotel lobby.

Waltman, a Hall of Famer himself as a member of D-X and the nWo, helped induct NBA legend Dennis Rodman into the WWE Hall of Fame last weekend. Waltman also helps out behind the scenes in WWE by coaching indie talent in the ID program.

X-Pac says there’s ‘zero chance’ he’ll be in WWE Royal Rumble

Sean “X-Pac” Waltman is claiming that there’s no chance he’ll be in the 2024 Royal Rumble.

Though he’s been rumored as a potential surprise entrant, Waltman posted a tweet on Thursday saying that there’s “zero chance” he’ll be in the Royal Rumble. Waltman said he can still go in the ring at least for a few minutes, but he won’t be able to get in shape in time for the Rumble.

Waltman wrote:

I can still go at the drop of hat, at least for a few minutes. I can do all my kicks, except the one in the corner & I can do that again with a few weeks training. I’m at least month away from taking my shirt off in public, so zero chance I’ll be in the Rumble.

PWInsider reported on January 2 that there was word going around the WWE Performance Center that Waltman would be at the facility that week.

Waltman hasn’t wrestled since facing Joey Janela at Joey Janela’s Spring Break 6 in 2022. He worked that match with a torn biceps.

In 2019, Waltman was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of D-Generation X.

Royal Rumble 2024 is being held at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida on Saturday, January 27. Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Lashley, and Drew McIntyre are the first five wreslers who have been confirmed for the men’s Rumble match.

Bayley, Nia Jax, Becky Lynch, and Bianca Belair have been announced for the women’s Rumble.

Billy Gunn says AEW reached out to Sean ‘X-Pac’ Waltman

Sean Waltman is reportedly training for an in-ring return and some wouldn’t be surprised to see that take place in AEW.

Speculation regarding Waltman and AEW started following an interview Billy Gunn gave to Sportskeeda on Sunday. Gunn told the outlet that AEW has reached out to Waltman previously about coming in.

Our own Dave Meltzer would later clarify that there were discussions between Waltman and AEW in May and October of 2022 but nothing recently.

Gunn said:

I think we’ve tried to get Sean in here a couple of times. Things just didn’t work out but I think, if the time’s right, I think he would be a great asset because he still has huge popularity and everybody knows him and he’s such a good guy that he would not only help the younger talent as well as be a good representative for our company and he’d be amazing if we could get him here.

According to a report from Nick Hausman, sources close to Waltman “would not be surprised” to see him end up in AEW at some point. However, it was noted that Waltman is not interested in only doing a one-off with the promotion.

Hausman wrote:

Waltman is in the process of getting back into ring shape and those close to him told us they would not be surprised if he showed up in AEW.

Waltman hasn’t wrestled since working a couple of matches with GCW in early 2022. He teamed with Joey Janela and defeated Brian Myers & Matt Cardona at Welcome to Heartbreak on February 25, 2022. He then was defeated by Janela the following month at Spring Break 6 in a match that Waltman worked with a torn biceps

X-Pac worked GCW Spring Break with torn biceps, will require surgery

Sean “X-Pac” Waltman says he worked Thursday’s GCW Joey Janela’s Spring Break 6 Part 1 with a torn biceps.

Following his match against Janela on the show, Waltman posted to social media and revealed he suffered the injury at GCW Welcome to Heartbreak on February 25. He teamed with Janela that night and defeated Matt Cardona & Brian Myers. Janela then turned on him in a post-match angle that led to them facing each other on Thursday’s show.

Waltman also noted that the injury will require surgery but he does plan on returning to the ring for a few more matches.

“I tried to keep this on the down-low, but I tore my bicep in the tag match a month ago. I’m going to have surgery soon & then have a few more matches,” Waltman wrote.

Waltman’s GCW debut in February was his first match in nearly three years. He hadn’t wrestled since the WrestleCon Mark Hitchcock Memorial SuperShow on April 4, 2019.

X-Pac vs. Joey Janela confirmed for GCW Spring Break 6

Sean “X-Pac” Waltman and Joey Janela will face off as part of The Collective during WrestleMania week.

After a challenge that was issued by Waltman last weekend, it’s been confirmed that Waltman vs. Janela will take place at Joey Janela’s Spring Break 6 part one on Thursday, March 31. The show is being held at Fair Park in Dallas, Texas and will air live on Fite TV.

Janela and Waltman teamed together last Friday night at GCW Welcome to Heartbreak. Following their victory over Matt Cardona & Brian Myers, Waltman told the fans that it had been his final match. As Waltman continued to address the crowd, Janela turned against Waltman by superkicking him.

Waltman then issued the challenge for Spring Break at GCW The Coldest Winter on Saturday.

Welcome to Heartbreak was the first time Waltman has wrestled since 2019.

The updated lineup for Spring Break 6 part one is as follows:

  • GCW World Champion Jon Moxley defends against AJ Gray
  • X-Pac vs. Joey Janela
  • GCW Ultraviolent Champion Alex Colon defends against John Wayne Murdoch

X-Pac challenges Joey Janela for GCW Spring Break 6

Sean “X-Pac” Waltman has challenged Joey Janela to a match at GCW’s Spring Break 6 event during WrestleMania weekend.

Waltman issued the challenge on tonight’s GCW The Coldest Winter from Los Angeles. Janela kicked off tonight’s show with an in-ring promo explaining his actions, saying that he doesn’t get enough credit for being unselfish in GCW. Waltman then confronted him and challenged him to the match for the first night of Spring Break.

One night earlier, Janela and Waltman teamed together and defeated Brian Myers and Matt Cardona. Waltman spoke to the crowd after and said that it had been his final match. As Waltman was still speaking, Janela superkicked him, turning against his partner in a show-closing angle.

The first night of the two-part event is scheduled for March 31st from Fair Park in Dallas, Texas. The following night, Spring Break 6 Part 2, will take place from the same venue.

Also on tonight’s show, Mance Warner issued a challenge to GCW Tag Team Champions Nick Gage and Matt Tremont on behalf of himself and Matthew Justice. Warner hasn’t wrestled since undergoing surgery to repair a broken tibia and a broken fibula last November. Warner said he doesn’t want the match to take place at Spring Break, however, but rather at GCW Astronaut on March 12th from Atlanta.

They also announced a show from the Roxy Theater in Los Angeles on March 24th.

Results from GCW The Coldest Winter are below:

  • Ninja Mack defeated Jack Cartwheel
  • Jordan Oliver defeated Dark Sheik

  • Blake Christian defeated “Speedball” Mike Bailey

Sean Waltman arrested on drug possession charges last weekend

Sean Waltman (who is best known as X-Pac) missed a booking for IPW:UK last weekend because he was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport while attempting to fly out to the show.

TMZ reported today that Waltman was arrested after being stopped at customs, where it was found that he was carrying “three cannabis chocolate bars, two THC liquid cigarettes, and 38 methamphetamine capsules.” Waltman was on a Customs and Border Protection watch list for narcotics, which was likely due to drug-related issues he’s had in the past.

Because of the large amount of pills that he was carrying and $736.10 in cash that he had on him, Waltman was arrested on felony charges of possession of narcotics with the intent to sell.

An existing warrant was also found that stemmed from a prior DUI arrest. Waltman was released on bail after it was set at $35,000.

Waltman has a history of substance abuse issues, though he’s seemingly been doing better in recent years. He denied that he had relapsed in a tweet last night: “I’ve had a crazy weekend. I’ll get into it on the show Wednesday. Way too much to tweet about. Still mentally strong & healthy. No relapse.”

While appearing on “The Tomorrow Show with Keven Undergaro,” Waltman also denied that he was using anything other than cannabis.

Concern over what had happened to Waltman began after IPW:UK wrote on Facebook that they hadn’t heard from him after he was supposed to land in the United Kingdom on Saturday prior to last Sunday’s show. Undergaro then posted an update on Waltman, saying that he was dealing with issues but was okay and would be speaking about them soon.
