New WWE Tag Team Champions crowned on SmackDown

New WWE Tag Team Champions have been crowned.

Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy of The Wyatt Sicks defeated Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins of The Street Profits on Friday’s show to win the WWE Tag Team Championship.

The victory for the Wyatt Sicks duo came after interference from their stablemate Erick Rowan. The interference spot led to Dawkins being waylaid at ringside, and a distraction from Gacy forced Ford to miss his signature frog splash and ultimately led to the title change.

Both Gacy and Lumis racked up their first WWE career title win of any kind in the victory. Gacy made his WWE television debut on 205 Live in July 2021. Lumis is in his second run with the company and has wrestled just four matches in 2025.

The Street Profits’ second reign with the WWE Tag titles ends at 207 days.

Our full report from Friday’s SmackDown — which also included an angle featuring Jelly Roll, Logan Paul, Randy Orton, and Drew McIntyre — is available here.

WWE SmackDown live results: Tag titles on the line, Jelly Roll appears

Tonight’s live WWE SmackDown from Nashville will serve as the go-home show for both Saturday Night’s Main Event and Evolution.

The Street Profits are set to once again defend their WWE Tag Team titles against the Wyatt Sicks (Joe Gacy & Dexter Lumis). The Wyatts went to a no contest with the champions last month, followed by them winning an eight-man tag match against an all-star team representing SmackDown’s tag division.

Grammy-nominated artist Jelly Roll is set to appear tonight on SmackDown — and many believe it will be the start of an angle that will lead to Jelly Roll making his in-ring debut next month at SummerSlam.

Ron Killings, in just his second match since the news of his release and re-signing happened, will take on Aleister Black, who is looking for his first win since May. Killings was last in action against John Cena on the June 20 SmackDown, picking up a DQ win.

Our live coverage begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

– The voice of Joe Tessitore set up the action over shots of the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN. Shots of the Street Profits were briefly interrupted by the Wyatt Sicks’ graphics as we then saw Jelly Roll arriving and being welcomed by Randy Orton.

LA Knight addresses Saturday Night’s Main Event

LA Knight made his way down to the ring to kick off SmackDown with some words at the ready for his SNME opponent, Seth Rollins.

“Let me talk to ya,” Knight started off in his usual manner. He started talking about predictions and spoilers, two things that came out of Paul Heyman’s mouth an awful lot. Knight called Seth Rollins a desperate man, who made a desperate move by siding with Heyman and forming a crew with “slop house” Bronson Reed and “dog-brained idiot” Bron Breakker. Knight said that Reed and Breakker tried to injure him on the orders of Rollins because he couldn’t do it himself.

Knight said that while he got to drop Rollins on his head this past Monday on Raw, it wasn’t enough because he wanted justice and he wanted to hurt Rollins. Knight declared that Rollins would get his ass kicked because it’s not a prediction or a spoiler, it’s just a fact of life, because he was the spoiler.

Paul Heyman interrupted Knight and admonished the fans for “missing the cue” for his “ladies and gentlemen” introduction. Heyman said that as the Oracle of Seth Rollins, he was gifted with being able to see the future, and that the future of his and Rollins’ group is the future of the entire industry. On the other hand, Knight had no future at all, per Heyman’s claims.

Solo Sikoa and his “M.F.T.” group of JC Mateo, Tala Tonga, and Tanga Loa showed up next. Sikoa said that some things changed, but some things have stayed the same. Sikoa said that when Heyman left to Raw, there was no more Bloodline, no more Tribal Chief, and no more Wiseman. Sikoa threatened Heyman to leave before he and his M.F.T.s put Heyman through a table. On that note, Heyman made his retreat through the crowd.

Sikoa then turned his attention to LA Knight. He said that one thing has changed: he is the new United States Champion. That means the man that beat Knight at WrestleMania, Jacob Fatu? He’s no longer a factor, according to Sikoa. The U.S. Champion issued the same ultimatum to Knight that he did to Heyman, otherwise the M.F.T.s would make sure he’d never be able to walk again. Knight refused to acquiesce to Sikoa’s group as he got ready for a fight.

The M.F.T.s surrounded the ring as a chair got slid into the ring by Jimmy Uso. The two then teed off on Sikoa’s group with chairs before Tala Tonga looked like he wanted to fight. Sikoa managed to get Tala to back down in a strategic retreat.

SmackDown GM Nick Aldis interrupted and said that he still ran the show even though Sikoa had his new friends. He said that it seemed like Sikoa wanted a fight and he was going to oblige that wish with a tag match between Sikoa and JC Mateo versus LA Knight and Jimmy Uso.

I liked this opening segment and I did enjoy the continuity being acknowledged with Solo threatening Paul Heyman.

– Alexa Bliss approached Charlotte Flair backstage and asked her to be in her corner for the fatal-four way match coming up next, since her opponents would have their partners. Charlotte agreed and mocked the idea of being a “cheerleader”, stating that she’d be a cheerleader for herself.

Fatal Four-Way Match: Alexa Bliss (w/ Charlotte Flair) vs. Roxanne Perez (w/ Raquel Rodriguez) vs. Sol Ruca (w/ Zaria) vs. Kairi Sane (w/ Asuka)

Ruca and Bliss mixed it up while Sane and Perez fought it out in the corner. As Ruca went for an early pin, Sane broke it up and went on the attack. Sane sent Ruca to the outside and looked for a dive, but Perez intercepted her with a Thesz Press. As Perez had Sane set up for a move, Ruca took both out with a double drop kick. Ruca wasn’t done yet as she somersaulted and launched herself onto Bliss, Perez, and Sane on the outside, which took us to the break.

We resumed with Perez and Sane fighting on the top turnbuckle as the former looked to an attempt a superplex. Bliss and Ruca rushed towards the corner and we got the Tower of Doom superplex/powerbomb spot that seemed to knock the wind out of everyone. Bliss and Ruca recovered and began to mix it up with Bliss connecting with the flipping neckbreaker for a near-fall. Bliss’s attempt at a DDT was met with a superkick by Perez, followed by the running European uppercut to the back. DIving moonsault and pin was interrupted by Ruca. The NXT Women’s North American Champion pounced and hit a running knee on Perez for the two-count. Scoop slam by Ruca didn’t lead to anything as Sane met her at the top rope and trapped her in a Tree of Woe position for a double stomp. One, two… Bliss and Perez simultanuously broke up the pin.

Bliss attempted the Sister Abigail DDT on Perez, but got countered out of it. Ruca ran to the corner and connected with a double Sol Snatcher on Perez and Bliss. The cover, but Raquel Rodriguez put Perez’s rope to break the count. A melee outside the ring led to Rodriguez tossing Zarya as she then found herself thrown over the commentary table by Flair (and right into Joe Tessitore in the process).

In the ring, Sane’s Insane Elbow was blocked by Bliss’s foot as this match then came to an end with a Sister Abigail DDT and the three.

Alexa Bliss def. Kairi Sane, Sol Ruca, and Roxanne Perez via pinfall

Fun opener that got really chaotic towards the end. It’s always nice to see Sol Ruca break out another variation of her finisher, especially on a main roster show. This was great stuff.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match: Street Profits (c) (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) vs. The Wyatt Sicks (Joe Gacy & Dexter Lumis; w/ Uncle Howdy, Erick Rowan, and Nikki Cross)

Dawkins and Gacy got things going to start this match off. Both men attempted a lockup, but neither man could get an upper hand. Dawkins eventually managed to throw Gacy down as he worked him over in the corner with some hard strikes. Ford entered the match with a tag and looked for a dive, as Lumis pulled Gacy out of the ring. Ford mocked Lumis’ taunt just as we went to a break.

SmackDown returned from break with Lumis attempting to hit a superplex on Ford, but being unable to, on the account of Ford fighting back. Lumis tried again, but got blocked by Ford, who instead hit a sunset flip powerbomb that created needed separation. Dawkins got the hot tag and went to work right away on Gacy with a running shoulder charge, spinning clothesline, and a neckbreaker. With both Wyatt Sicks members outside, Dawkins flew over the rope with a dive to both Gacy and Lumis.

Inside the ring, Dawkins connected with a gigantic Swanton Bomb, but Gacy managed to kick out. Gacy then connected with his handspring clothesline, as he and Lumis nailed a double team combination neckbreaker on Dawkins that wasn’t unable to put an end to this match. Lumis threw Dawkins hard into the corner, as he then sent him outside and we got another break.

SmackDown returned from break with Gacy continuing the punishment on Dawkins, up until Ford got the blind tag, which gave the Street Profits a chance to connect with a double team move, but that wasn’t enough to put the match away. With Gacy in no man’s land, he fell victim to a double team blockbuster by the Profits. One, two… Gacy somehow kicked out at two.

As Ford ran at Gacy, he got thrown to the outside, but Dawkins connected with a pounce, as he then connceted with a diving splash on Lumis inside the ring. Erick Rowan headed up to the ring and pulled Ford out of the ring with the referee distracted by Gacy. Dawkins ran into Rowan and sent him over the timekeeper’s area, which took him out in the process.

Ford headed up top and looked for another frog splash, but he missed thanks to the distraction from Gacy at ringside. This left him at the mercy of the Wyatt Sicks’ double team powerbomb/neckbreaker, and that’s it, over. We have new WWE Tag Team Champions.

The Wyatt Sicks def. The Street Profits via pinfall to win the WWE Tag Team Championships

A really solid tag match and seeing a title change here is quite interesting. Having the Wyatts as the monsters running the SmackDown tag division with teams stepping up to them in the hopes of wresting the tag titles away from them should make this run one to watch, at the very least.

**********

– The SmackDown tag division discussed the fallout of the Wyatts’ tag team title win, as Andrade and Fenix announced themselves as part of the SmackDown tag team division officially based on their recent successes.

– Crews were getting a stage set up for Jelly Roll’s performance coming up next.

Jelly Roll performs

After being introduced as “Nashville’s own hometown hero”, Jelly Roll began to perform a song for the live crowd. Before he could continue on, he was rudely interrupted by Logan Paul.

Paul said that everyone was here to see real WWE superstars, not music by for people who had tattoos of their children, but don’t have custody of them. Paul said that Jelly Roll belonged on the stage, not a WWE ring. Paul got upset about celebrities, clout chasers, and influencers thinking they could hang in the WWE ring. Paul said that the WWE didn’t need a Jelly Roll, but they “needed” a Logan Paul. He said that the WWE loved him so much, his podcast just inked a long-term deal.

Jelly Roll interrupted and said that this was his hometown, and nobody gave a damn about Paul’s podcast in Nashville. The two got in each other’s face before Randy Orton walked down to the ring and took exception to Paul’s dismissal of Jelly Roll.

Orton called Paul a “whiny, entiitled bitch” because everyone moved heaven and earth just to make Logan Paul look good. Before Orton could go on, McIntyre blasted him with a Claymore Kick. Paul attacked the fallen Orton with repeated strikes but Jelly Roll grabbed him from behind and threw him down. Jelly Roll then helped Orton up as Paul wanted a piece of him. Security got Paul to back away

Paul snapped and wrecked the music set on the stage to end the segment.

Well, this was certainly a segment. I can’t say I’m excited at the idea of a Jelly Roll versus Logan Paul feud leading to a match at SummerSlam potentially. Whatever the intent of doing this segment was had the total opposite effect on me, if we’re being honest. In short, I did not like this at all and the hint of potentially roping Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre in this silliness does nothing for me.

**********

– Backstage, Randy Orton thanked Jelly Roll for his help moments ago. Jelly offered to be in Orton’s corner for his match with Drew McIntyre tomorrow for Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Ron Killings vs. Aleister Black

Killings avoided a Black clothesline and hit him with a single-legged dropkick to start. Black recovered and swept Killings with a leg as he transitioned into striking attacks to the former R-Truth. Killings fought back and sent Black to the outside. He was looking to line up a dive, but got kicked by Black. Outside the ring, Black tried for a moonsault, but Killings got out of the way. Killings grabbed a chair from the timekeepers area and wanted to use it as a weapon. Black stopped him with a kick as he looked to use the chair. Black was about to take a swing, but the referee stopped him, which allowed Killings to roll him up for the win.

Ron Killings def. Aleister Black via pinfall

There’s really not much to say about this match since it honestly ended before it could really get going.

**********

– Aleister Black saw Ron Killings walking and made a beeline for him, but Damian Priest stopped him from going further. Black seemed like he was going to back off at Priest’s urging, but he hit him with a knee to the face, followed by a Black Mass kick.

Tiffany Stratton & Trish Stratus speak before Evolution

Wade Barrett was in the ring with the WWE Women’s Champion and her opponent for Evolution to moderate this segment.

Stratton started off by saying that she already beat Charlotte Flair, Bayley, and Nia Jax, and the reason that she chose Stratus was because beating her would put her into consideration for being one of the greats.

Stratus answered by saying that the pressure is on Stratton because she needs the championship and while she’ll leave on Sunday as champion, Tiffany will leave with nothing. Stratus said that she helped solidify the women’s division and that she was still delivering for this division. She said that she loves Tiffany, but she’ll be leaving as an eight-time champion.

Naomi interrupted proceedings, but got clocked from behind by Jade Cargill, her opponent in a No-Holds Barred Match at Evolution this Sunday. Security officials stormed into the scene to keep the two hated rivals separated.

Saturday Night’s Main Event card

  • World Heavyweight Championship: Gunther (c) vs. Goldberg
  • LA Knight vs. Seth Rollins
  • Randy Orton (w/ Jelly Roll) vs. Drew McIntyre
  • United States Championship: Solo Sikoa (c) vs. Jimmy Uso

– Both Cody Rhodes and John Cena were adveritsed to appear on next week’s SmackDown.

LA Knight & Jimmy Uso vs. Solo Sikoa & JC Mateo (w/ Tala Tonga & Tanga Loa)

Sikoa and Knight got our main event started, as the U.S. Champion went on the offensive briefly before getting rocked by a neckbreaker. Knight stomped away on Sikoa as Uso tagged in and hit Sikoa with a running hip drop in the corner. Sikoa recovered and hit Uso with a strike to back him in the M.F.T. corner. Mateo entered the match and tried to continue the momentum, but he fell victim to a superkick, followed by a Samoan drop from Uso for a two-count.

Mateo woke up and hit Uso with an elbow to the face to force him back to his corner. Sikoa tagged himself in and pulled Uso out of the ring, as he delivered a Samoan drop onto the reinforced commentary table to take us to the final commercial break of the night.

Our main event returned with Mateo attempting a backdrop, but Uso escaped and kicked him, which allowed for a hot tag to Knight. The Megastar was on fire as he felled Mateo with a jumping neckbreaker. He attempted a BFT, but got blocked. Roll-up pin by Mateo was unable to put this match away. Knight hit yet another neckbreaker on Mateo, which left him open for a diving elbow, followed by the big Uso splash by Jimmy. Sikoa ran into the ring and broke up the pin at the last second.

Sikoa dragged Mateo back into his corner so he could make the tag. Sikoa attempted a Samoan Spike, but got blocked. He did, however, managed to connect with the Spinning Solo. Knight entered and attacked Mateo on the outside, and was interrupted by the sight of Paul Heyman in the timekeepers’ area. This distracted Knight long enough to get kicked by Tala Tonga.

In the ring, Sikoa found himself rolled up by Uso for the shock one, two, three win.

Post-match, the M.F.T.s chased after Uso in the ring, as Knight took out Sikoa with the BFT. Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed caught Knight by surprise with a Spear and a Tsunami. The show ended with Seth Rollins’ vanguard being led away from the ring by a group of referees.

Jimmy Uso & LA Knight def. Solo Sikoa & JC Mateo via pinfall

**********

Again a pretty standard TV main event to end the night. Really not much else to say about the tag match other than that.

Overall, tonight’s SmackDown fell kinda flat, with only the Tag Team Championship match being a standout highlight of the night. The Jelly Roll/Logan Paul segment was the big disappointment and it seemed like the rest of the show kind of petered out after that segment.

Tag title match, R-Truth vs. Aleister Black set for next WWE SmackDown

A pair of matches have been announced for the Friday, July 11 WWE SmackDown.

After their last WWE Tag Team Championship match ended in a no-contest, The Street Profits and The Wyatt Sicks will rematch on next week’s SmackDown. The two teams previously matched up on the June 27 SmackDown.

Also announced, R-Truth and Aleister Black will settle their differences in the ring on next week’s episode. Truth interjected in Black’s business on the June 20 SmackDown by taking out Black’s scheduled opponent Kit Wilson before the bell. Black retaliated on the June 27 episode by attacking Truth in the ring.

The Friday, July 11 SmackDown is also the go-home show for both Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12, plus the all-women’s WWE Evolution PLE on Sunday, July 13.

Next week’s SmackDown lineup:

Wyatt Sicks return on WWE SmackDown

The Wyatt Sicks made their triumphant return to WWE on Friday’s SmackDown on what would have been Bray Wyatt’s 38th birthday.

The Wyatt Sicks stable of Uncle Howdy, Erick Rowan, Joe Gacy, Dexter Lumis, and Nikki Cross crashed the main event Tag Team title match on SmackDown in a chaotic scene that featured most of the SmackDown tag division.

As The Street Profits and Fraxiom wrestled for the Tag Team titles, the arena lights went out and The Wyatt Sicks appeared in the ring and attacked both teams. Already at ringside and interfering in the bout were DIY’s Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa, with Candice LeRae now officially by their side. Motor City Machine Guns also ran in to counteract the DIY interference. All of the teams involved were then laid out by Wyatt Sicks.

SmackDown went off the air with Bray Wyatt’s brother Uncle Howdy blowing out a candle on a birthday cake on what would have been his 38th birthday.

The Wyatt Sicks had been on hiatus for several months, with their last televised match as a group taking place on the December 9, 2024 WWE Raw. The group did wrestle in tag bouts on the WWE holiday tour in late December.

Show Recap —

(Reminder that this show was taped last week.)

Drew McIntyre entered to kick off the show. As he entered, Joe Tessitore said that McIntyre is “continuously showing us a dark side like we’ve never seen before.”

McIntyre said his back was almost broken from landing on the steel steps at HIAC. He went home to Scotland, but he hasn’t talked about it publicly because a close family member passed away. Some may feel sympathy right now, and maybe some guys in the back felt bad because they didn’t know. But if they cared, they would have asked. Only one person reached out to him while he was gone. (He didn’t say who it was.)

After all these years, we were meant to think they were all one big happy family backstage because they spent more time together than their actual families. But that was all BS. His brother, John, wouldn’t stab him in the back to take his spot, but Sami Zayn, Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso all would. The crowd chanted, “Yeet.” Jey claimed to be a changed man after all the terrible things he did, but the fans moved on because he had a fun hand gesture.

McIntyre has given and given and given over 17 years, but the fans turned on him. He kept fighting for the fans because deep down, he believed they believed in him, but he bled out in the ring at HIAC, and they instantly forgot about him. (They added some terrible fake booing here that sounded like the early 2000s Smackdown days.)

He would continue to tell the truth. The true villains in WWE were Roman Reigns and CM Punk. He issued a warning to anyone who kept propping them up (The Usos and Zayn).

Zayn interrupted. He said he didn’t know what happened to McIntyre while he was in Scotland. Everyone thought he was recovering from HIAC, whether McIntyre wanted to believe it or not. Zayn said McIntyre might’ve had 17 years in the business, but Zayn had 22. All the sacrifices McIntyre had, Zayn had too. He put unnecessary stress on his wife and kid but that’s the life they chose.

They did it because they were “WWE superstars.” They were lucky to be WWE superstars. It wasn’t just their story. Every single person in the crowd and watching from home had these stories. They still got up every day and did what they had to do to get through it without pointing the finger at everyone else. McIntyre had the gall to point his finger at the fans, but they didn’t forget about him—they made him.

Once upon a time, “someone” told McIntyre he was the chosen one, and he thought the world revolved around him because of it. What Jey and Jimmy and Sami did had nothing to do with him. Zayn said McIntyre could continue to have a problem with the Bloodline, so Zayn could be his problem tonight.

McIntyre said he didn’t doubt Zayn’s sentiment, but Zayn had a way of spinning things. Zayn could fly to his family every week, but McIntyre didn’t have that luxury. McIntyre wondered why Zayn would want to fight, considering he’s never beaten him. McIntyre saw Zayn’s family backstage and heard he wasn’t 100%, so he suggested leaving with his family. Out of everyone from the Bloodline, Zayn was the least of his worries.

Zayn admitted that McIntyre had his number in the ring. It would be smart for him to go home and recover. Zayn then attacked McIntyre mid-sentence, but McIntyre headbutted him. Jey ran out to make the save and teamed with Zayn to knock McIntyre from the ring.

*******

Pure Fusion Collective approached Adam Pearce to the sound of fake booing. Sonya Deville wanted Kairi Sane’s vacant spot in the tournament (after they laid her out). Pearce said no because it was obviously them who took her out. He made Iyo Sky the replacement already. (There was even more fake crowd throughout this.)

Women’s IC title tournament first-round triple threat match: IYO SKY defeated Natalya and Alba Fyre (8:18)

They went to break 40 seconds into this important tournament match even though the show was taped (the opening segment still went about 20 minutes). Natalya put both women in a Sharpshooter following the break. Tessitore acted befuddled by this even though she’s done it before. Sky wiped out everyone with a dive moments later and hit Natalya with a moonsault for the win.

*******

There was a backstage Judgment Day segment. Finn Bálor and Liv Morgan argued like kids. Bálor was on one side with JD McDonagh and Carlito, while Morgan was with Raquel Rodriguez and Dominik Mysterio. Bálor and Morgan had their backs turned to each other and wouldn’t actually speak to each other. Instead, they tried to speak through McDonagh and Rodriguez. Dom had enough of this and offered to go get a match with Damian Priest. Bálor was offended, but Dom told him that he had a plan.

********

Zayn thanked Jey for having his back. Jey wanted payback against McIntyre tonight, but Zayn wanted his own payback against him first. Jey conceded but said he would get McIntyre next.

Chad Gable (w/American Made) defeated Akira Tozawa (w/Alpha Academy) (2:09)

Gable and Otis had an argument outside the ring, so Gable slapped him and quickly slipped into the ring. Tozawa tried to take advantage with a cradle for two. Tozawa tried a diving senton, but Gable got his knees up and hit repeated German suplexes, a powerbomb and an ankle lock for the submission win.

— Gable wouldn’t let go of the hold, so Otis broke it up. Otis was ready for a fight, but the Creed Brothers stepped in with Gable. Otis still wasn’t backing down, but American Made left.

********

Dom bumped into New Day backstage. Kofi Kingston was happy to see him, figuring he would know what they were going through. Dom said he didn’t like Big E, but what they did to him was crazy. Xavier Woods called him a broke-ass Tom Selleck. Dom responded, “Tom Selleck wishes.” Dom chuckled and left. What an odd reference.

Damian Priest defeated Dominik Mysterio via disqualification (2:52)

Priest was all over Dom and noticed a conspicuous man dressed as Santa Claus in the front row. It was McDonagh. Priest chucked him over the announce table and pulled an unsuspecting Carlito out from under the ring, but Bálor attacked Priest for the quick DQ.

— Judgment Day put the boots to Priest until the Viking Raiders made the save. Priest, Ivar and Erik laid out Judgment Day, and this ended with Priest giving Bálor a chokeslam.

Seth Rollins sit-down interview

Jackie Redmond interviewed Seth Rollins to follow up on her interview with CM Punk. (The audio was really off here, as it has been in recent weeks on Sportsnet with some of these pre-taped segments for whatever reason.)

Rollins called Punk a hypocrite. It was appropriate to call their match on January 6th a fight, not a match, and it was the biggest fight in their industry right now. Rollins needed this fight, especially after seeing Punk standing toe-to-toe with Reigns. Rollins wanted to throw his remote at the TV when he saw that.

The Netflix debut was the perfect time to fight Punk because the world would be watching. It would be raw, visceral and violent. Rollins needed to extract this demon out of his soul and cut this cancer out of his brain. He couldn’t wait for January 6th.

(If this interview showed anything, it’s that Rollins is certainly not the interview that CM Punk is.)

********

Dexter Lumis defeated The Miz via disqualification (2:24)

If you watch a lot of modern wrestling, it’s easy to conclude that there are few bad wrestlers and even fewer bad matches. But then there’s this.

This was a nothing match, to be kind, and it ended quickly when AOP and Karrion Kross attacked Lumis for the DQ. Scarlett joined them, and they surrounded him in the ring.

Lumis wasn’t worried. He raised his arms, and the lights went out, which brought out the Wyatt Sicks. They cleared the ring and powerbombed Nikki Cross out of the ring to wipe out Final Testament.

(This was the second DQ in a row and the third match in a row under three minutes. According to the results they aired later, these two matches were considered no contests, even though they were obvious disqualifications.)

********

Priest thanked the War Raiders for their help earlier. Ivar said they’ve known each other a long time. They haven’t always seen eye-to-eye, but there’s always been “honour” among them (a nod to their time in ROH). Erik said they may not have been friends, but Priest had their back in a big way last week, and they appreciated it. Priest said they were at war with Judgment Day, and he was happy to go to war with them. He wished them luck with the tag titles.

The New Day segment

Tessitore and Wade Barrett recapped what happened with New Day and Big E two weeks ago. Kingston and Woods interrupted. (They appeared ringside without music.) They wondered where the announcers’ unbiased journalism was. (They were completely drowned out by booing.)

Woods said Barrett and Big E had something in common: neither was man enough to lace up their boots and step foot in the ring again. (Barrett said he was retired).

New Day entered the ring. They said they could have laid out Big E, but they didn’t, so they wondered why the fans were so upset. Kingston said tonight was meant to be a homecoming for him. It was also meant to be a homecoming for his mom, who flew all the way from Ghana. Elizabeth was shown in the front row.

Kingston said she flew for 20 hours in the middle seat to be there, and they were ruining her experience. (Barrett was appalled he got her a middle seat.) Kingston said she raised him to become the man he is today and didn’t deserve to see her son get booed. Woods said they gave the fans 10 years of their lives.

Kingston approached his mom and said she didn’t deserve this. He offered a hug. She got to her feet but did not accept the hug. She asked what was wrong with him. She grabbed her stuff and left. The fans cheered and chanted, “Kofi sucks.”

This was good.

Next week on the final USA Network edition of Raw:

  • Six-man tag: Damian Priest & War Raiders vs. Finn Bálor, McDonagh & Carlito
  • Dakota Kai vs. Zoey Stark
  • IYO SKY vs. Lyra Valkyria
  • Chad Gable vs. Otis
  • CM Punk and Seth Rollins “under one roof”

********

New Day bumped into Rey Mysterio backstage. Rey thought about what Kingston said last week and apologized for his response. He wanted to help them as much as he could. What they did to Big E was foul, and they should start by apologizing. Kingston said they didn’t do anything wrong, and Woods said Rey was as bad as everyone else.

Rey said they couldn’t accuse him of not trying to help, and now they were on their own. He told them to get used to hearing, “New Day sucks.”

********

Drew McIntyre defeated Sami Zayn (16:35)

Zayn lost clean, and it didn’t feel like he deserved any better.

Zayn had McIntyre off-guard, leading to a first commercial break, but McIntyre took over and hit a side slam onto the apron, leading to a second break (less than 10 minutes into the match).

Zayn countered a reverse Alabama Slam into a victory roll for two. Zayn dodged a charge, and McIntyre went shoulder-first into the ring post, but McIntyre came back with a White Noise off the middle rope for two.

McIntyre went for a Claymore but Zayn fought back with a clothesline and an exploder into the corner. Zayn couldn’t hit a Helluva Kick because his back was hurt, so McIntyre nailed a Claymore Kick for the pinfall win.

— McIntyre hammered away at Zayn after the match until Jey ran out to make the save. Jey speared McIntyre and set up for a splash but was attacked by Tama Tonga, flanked by Soloa Sikoa and Jacob Fatu.

The new Bloodline entered the ring and had a brief staredown with McIntyre. He left the ring.

The new Bloodline attacked Jey but he fought them all off until the numbers finally caught up to him. Zayn tried to make a save, but they beat him up too. Sikoa gave Zayn the Samoan Spike. Fatu placed the ula fala on Sikoa, and they all stood tall over the babyfaces.

JoJo Offerman says Bray Wyatt’s ‘spirit is out there through his brother’

JoJo Offerman offered her thoughts on The Wyatt Sicks during a recent virtual signing with Southern Wrestling Autographs.

While Offerman says she loves that her late husband’s legacy is continuing through the angle, she admits it can sometimes be difficult for her to watch.

“It’s a very bittersweet thing for me,” she said about The Wyatt Sicks. “I love it for multiple reasons. I love it for the fact that his legacy is still strong and he’s out there, like, his spirit is out there through his brother. And I love it for Taylor, or Bo, because if Windham wanted anything in the world it’d be for his family to succeed, for his brother to succeed.”

“I’m very happy that Bo has that opportunity to carry on this legacy but it’s really hard a lot of the times because it’s like a trigger for me. I’ve learned that, and I’ve had to put my phone down and completely not watch it at points.”

Offerman says she’ll often ask Liv Morgan or Samantha Irvin to warn her if there will be something on the show that night that could be upsetting.

“The debut I didn’t even know was happening and his music hit and I straight up could not stop crying all night. It was full-on panic attacks for me.”

Despite it being difficult for her to watch, Offerman says she fully supports the group being featured on WWE programming.

“I’ve had to kind of make it work in the best way that I can because I do support,” she continued.

“I love that, like I said, his legacy is living on and his kids can see that but the part that’s the worst for me is personal. It’s me. I spent endless nights with him working on the song or working on the character. Days and weeks and months and so much of my time went into it.”

“He would turn to me when it came to like if he had to choose between three things,” she continued.

In particular, Offerman says Wyatt would come to her for feedback on music.

“Jamie from Code Orange reached out to me and he was very adamant on me being okay with the music being used again and I said ‘As long as you okay it, I’m okay with it.'”

Uncle Howdy, the character portrayed by Bray Wyatt’s brother Taylor Rotunda, made his in-ring debut on the August 26 WWE Raw, just three days after the first anniversary of Wyatt’s passing. He defeated Chad Gable.

Offerman’s full virtual signing is available below:

Wyatt Sicks win debut match on WWE Raw

Image: WWE

The Wyatt Sicks are officially in the win column after a trios match in the main event of Monday’s post-SummerSlam edition of WWE Raw.

The much-anticipated debut saw Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis & Joe Gacy pick up the win over Chad Gable and Julius & Brutus Creed when Lumis pinned Gable.

The beginning of the end came when Lumis, Gacy and the Creeds were on the outside of the ring and Gable hit a big belly-to-back suplex on Rowan on the inside. He got distracted by calling for the Creeds who subsequently got hit with double uranages on the announce table. Gable then turned around into a Rowan claw slam. Gacy followed that up by powerbombing Lumis onto Gable before Lumis went to the top for the big splash and pin.

Uncle Howdy and Nikki Cross watched the match from the entranceway and the entire group posed in the ring to close the show before the group’s logo appeared followed by what appeared to be a flash of Cross.

The new faction to honor the late Bray Wyatt debuted on a mid-June Raw and have been terrorizing Gable ever since that night.

At one point, Rowan honored the late Jon Huber (Brodie Lee/Luke Harper) by saying “Yeah yeah yeah yeah” and blowing kisses before springboarding into the ring.

Show Recap —

There was a SummerSlam video recapping the Raw brand matches.

Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio were shown arriving happily together. Damian Priest, Bron Breakker, and Drew McIntyre (also very happy) were shown, too.

Michael Cole announced a sellout crowd of 11,832. (The first hour is commercial-free.)

Gunther segment

Ludwig Kaiser was in the ring to start the show and introduced us to the new World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther.

Gunther entered in a suit and he hugged Kaiser. He held up his title belt as fireworks went off. He received a mixed response and some “You deserve it” chants.

Gunther stated: “My name is Gunther. I am the ring general. I am the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion in history. I am the King of the Ring. And now, I am your World Heavyweight Champion.”

Gunther continued by saying that if you thought his Intercontinental title reign was historic, just watch what he does as World Heavyweight Champion. He was above everyone in the ring. Nothing could catch him off guard because he was greatness personified. From this day forth, Raw, the legacy of this sport and the world title belonged to him.

Randy Orton interrupted to a loud pop. Gunther admitted he was wrong because that actually did catch him off-guard. Orton admitted that the title belt looked mighty fine on Gunther’s shoulders.

Orton said he was the only reason Gunther was holding the title in the first place. “You beat me at King of the Ring, but did you really beat me at King of the Ring?” Orton reminded us that his shoulders were up on the pinfall. He has been here long enough to know that the referee’s decision was final but Triple H knew there should be a sequel. Orton was calling his shot now.

Orton was the only one in the locker room that could match him. It was technician versus technician, smooth versus smoother. The fans deserved a modern-day Flair versus Steamboat. Gunther considered himself a living legend and that was perfect because Orton made a career out of killing legends. Orton planned on walking out of Gunther’s home country as world champion. The crowd chanted for Randy.

Gunther admitted that not beating Orton clean at KOTR left a stain on his record. The voices in Orton’s head were wrong if they were telling him he could beat Gunther in Berlin.

Gunther accepted Orton’s challenge and they shook hands. Gunther pulled him in close to tell him that nothing catches him out of nowhere. Orton was fine with that because he wanted Gunther to see it coming. Orton left.

This was a good, simple setup.

********

Sheamus did a quick interview with Jackie Remond. He knew guys like Kaiser and Pete Dunne were just trying to make a name for themselves at his expense but he told them to bring it on.

Sheamus defeated Ludwig Kaiser (11:20)

They brawled outside the ring before the match started. They got in the ring and it seemed like the referee forgot to start the match but maybe somebody alerted him in his ear and he rang the bell about 10 seconds later.

Sheamus was in full control until Kaiser feigned an injury to take a cheap shot. Kaiser ran around the ring for a running dropkick into the steel steps. Kaiser made a poor attempt at ten beats of the Bodhrán but Sheamus blocked it.

Sheamus no-sold some chops and followed with a headbutt, right hands, axe handles, corner clothesline, a backbreaker and White Noise for two. Sheamus applied a cloverleaf but Kaiser got a rope break. Kaiser tried to fight back but Sheamus hit ten beats of the Bodhrán and a flying clothesline to the outside.

Dunne tried to attack with the shillelagh but Sheamus dodged it and hit him with a knee strike. Kaiser caught Sheamus off guard with a running kick but he kicked out. Sheamus followed with a knee strike and Brogue Kick for the pinfall win.

This was good. The crowd liked Sheamus and popped for the finish.

********

There was a Wyatt Family/Wyatt Sicks video package. The original Wyatt group with Bray, Erick Rowan and Luke Harper debuted 11 years ago, also in Baltimore.

They mentioned Roman Reigns’ return for the second time and aired a few more clips from SummerSlam.

********

Damian Priest segment

Priest marched out to the ring and called out Finn Bálor to catch this beating like a man. The crowd was behind Priest. Priest said Bálor wasn’t a prince, he was a back-stabbing coward.

Priest was on his own most of his life until he found Judgment Day and they felt like family. However, after seeing the reaction of the fans, he knew they were his new family. He was pissed that Bálor took the title from him and from them. Priest wouldn’t let that stand. He called out Bálor again.

Bálor appeared on the screen in a dark room. Bálor said Priest brought this on himself. Bálor didn’t betray him, Priest betrayed them. Judgment Day wasn’t meant to have a leader but everything changed when he won the title. Bálor almost became the champion a year ago. After he lost, Priest told him to man up.

Bálor waited a full year and he did man up. “I screwed you and I screwed your family.” Priest was now just a loser from the street so Bálor didn’t plan on fighting him. JD McDonagh would fight him because he’s earned it.

Bálor would wait until Priest felt comfortable and until he’d almost forgotten about him. Bálor would wait until Priest’s back was turned and he would stab him in it again and again. And he wouldn’t be alone. Liv Morgan, Dominik, McDonagh and Carlito showed up behind Bálor. (This got a good reaction.) Priest marched out of the ring toward the back.

Bálor was good here, although the fans did laugh when he threatened to send JD after Priest.

********

Bronson Reed confronted Adam Pearce. He was annoyed he didn’t have a match tonight after beating Sheamus last week. Pearce tried to reason with him but Reed said he knew now that he’d have to create his own path to the top.

********

Lyra Valkyria defeated Shayna Baszler (w/Sonya Deville & Zoey Stark) via disqualification (2:37)

Valkyria fended off some interference and hit Baszler with her finisher but Deville and Stark broke up the cover for the DQ.

— The heels attacked Valkyria until Damage CTRL ran out to make the save.

This felt like filler to get us to the end of the first hour.

********

There was a pre-taped promo by Karrion Kross (alongside Final Testament) about Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston. He claimed we’d witness the death of the New Day tonight.

********

CM Punk walked through the back. He’s up next.

(They went to commercial break for the first time at 8:56 pm.)

[SECOND HOUR]

Ivy Nile met with the Creed Brothers. She asked them to leave when Maxxine Dupri showed up. Dupri wondered why she hadn’t heard from her and said the Creeds have been attacking Otis and Akira Tozawa for weeks. Nile tried to reason with her and said the Creeds have a switch that just goes off sometimes.

Chad Gable appeared and told Dupri to leave. He told her they could keep the Alpha Academy name. Gable said he and the Creeds would beat the Wyatt Sicks tonight.

CM Punk, Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre segment

Punk entered to a big ovation. Punk congratulated Belal Muhammad on his win. Punk liked seeing good things happen to good people.

Punk was in a good mood despite what happened at SummerSlam. He was in Baltimore for the first time in 10 years and he couldn’t help but feel good hearing the fans chanted his name. Losing didn’t make him happy but SummerSlam was not a guarantee for him and neither was Raw in Baltimore.

He figured many people loved him because he didn’t stay down but there were some in the company who hated that he didn’t stay down. Just when he had his monumental return, it was all taken away from him. But he was in a good mood because he was told he would recover in nine months but he did it in five.

Drew McIntyre hurt him and that happens. But he gloated about it and made it personal. Punk was happy to be back because, for some people, their road to WrestleMania began in January, but not him. His Summer of Hate didn’t start the way he wanted but he noted it was still summer. The fans deserved less CM Punk talking and more CM Punk fighting.

Punk wanted McIntyre again. McIntyre claimed he wouldn’t stop until Punk’s heart stopped but his heart was still beating and blood was still pumping.

Seth Rollins interrupted. Rollins wore all black and had a stern demeanour as he stared a hole through Punk. Rollins removed his shades and jacket.

Rollins said they were both in a good mood because, after 10 long years, it was finally time for him to put Punk in the dirt. Punk called him into the ring and they were ready to fight but stopped upon hearing McIntyre.

McIntyre cut a promo while in the crowd. He gloated about his win over Punk with Rollins counting the fall. McIntyre said Punk proved he still had it in the ring, “But you’re no longer best in the world — I am.”

McIntyre showed the bracelet and said he still had Punk’s stupid-looking dog Larry and his lovely wife AJ at his side. Punk was pissed and he sprinted through the crowd after McIntyre.

Bronson Reed attacked Rollins in the ring. Rollins fought back but Reed nailed him with a Samoan drop, consecutive sentons and consecutive Tsunamis.

Officials ran out to check on Rollins as Reed left. However, Reed ran back to the ring and the Tsunami three more times. Just when it seemed like he was done, Reed did it one more time. The crowd really got up for this. (Rollins spat up blood as a result of the assault.)

Reed was about to leave but went to the top again and the officials finally figured it might be a good idea to roll Rollins out of harm’s way.

This was a very strong angle for Reed.

********

Redmond asked Pearce for an update on Rollins. Pearce said it didn’t look good and Rollins would be on his way to the hospital because there was fear of internal bleeding. (Cole noted that there was obviously internal bleeding.) Punk was storming through the back but Pearce cut him off and told him that he already walked McIntyre out of the building.

********

Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods defeated Authors of Pain (w/Karrion Kross, Scarlett & Paul Ellering) (6:58)

Kross interfered allowing Rezar to take over on Woods. However, Odyssey Jones appeared (wearing a New Day shirt) to take out Kross. Woods rolled up Rezar for the pinfall win.

— AOP attacked Woods but Jones made the save in the ring. Jones actually got both Akam and Rezar up at the same time for a double side slam. The crowd popped big for that. New Day celebrated with Jones. (Kingston seemed pumped about Jones, but Woods was much more reserved.)

*******

JD McDonagh cut a pre-taped promo. McDonagh said Priest was only champion as long as he was thanks to Judgment Day. McDonagh sacrificed his body for Priest but Priest never even wanted him in their group. Bálor trusted him more than Priest. McDonagh was in Judgment Day now and Priest wasn’t. McDonagh was a champion and Priest wasn’t. McDonagh would make Priest suffer tonight.

********

Kingston celebrated with Jones backstage and Jones said he was honoured to help out New Day. Kingston introduced Woods to Jones. They shook hands. Woods didn’t know they were friends. Jones said they bumped into each other and Jones offered to help. Alpha Academy joined and Tozawa did a little dance with Woods.

********

Austin Theory & Grayson Waller defeated R-Truth & The Miz (7:33)

They had the match you’d expect (not a good thing). Miz was in control but Truth tagged himself in. Truth gave Waller an AA but accidentally knocked Miz out of the ring in the process. Waller wasn’t the legal man, so Theory hit Truth with his finisher for the pinfall win.

Miz was upset but hugged Truth anyway.

********

Priest cut a pre-taped promo in response to McDonagh. Priest said Bálor was the only one who wanted McDonagh in Judgment Day. McDonagh had a small brain for someone with such a big head. McDonagh didn’t realize he was being sent by Bálor to catch the first bullet. Priest warned he’d still have plenty left in the chamber for Bálor. Priest planned on sending McDonagh to hell.

[THIRD HOUR]

Cathy Kelley interviewed Bron Breakker. Kelley asked if he was prepared for the onslaught of superstars who were coming for the title. Bron noticed how many wrestlers like to talk about how long they’ve held the title. How many days, how many years, whatever.

It’s been under three years since he debuted on WWE television, including NXT, and it took less than three years to win the IC title. As far as he was concerned, he was the hunter and everyone else was the hunted. “I’m coming for everyone.” He felt sorry for everyone else.

A lot of people thought he was born for this moment but he wasn’t — the title was born for him. He showed us his nameplate and said no man could take his name off of his title.

********

Damian Priest defeated JD McDonagh (w/Carlito) via disqualification (10:21)

They gave McDonagh a lot in this match. Priest was too preoccupied with Carlito so McDonagh shoved him into the ring post and hit a suicide dive. McDonagh hit a moonsault following a break for two. The crowd chanted, “JD sucks.”

Priest hit a flatliner and no-sold McDonagh’s slaps. Priest hit an elbow strike and a falcon arrow. McDonagh rolled outside so Priest shoved him over the announce desk before rolling him back in the ring. Priest hit a clothesline before kicking Carlito off the apron.

Priest set up for a chokeslam but Bálor attacked him from behind for the DQ.

— Priest sat up upon seeing Bálor but everyone swarmed Priest. Morgan and Dom entered too.

Priest fought them off and got his hands on Bálor. Priest set up for Razor’s Edge but Morgan yanked Bálor down and he escaped.

Priest got in Morgan’s face but Dom chop-blocked him. They attacked Priest until Rhea Ripley stormed out to a big pop. Dom and Morgan tried to run away but Ripley got her hands on Morgan. She chucked Morgan repeatedly into the ring post and set up for Razor’s Edge on the table but Dom grabbed Morgan and they escaped.

That left McDonagh alone in the ring. Ripley headbutted him and Priest gave him a chokeslam.

Priest and Ripley hugged.

The crowd was super hot for this. They loved Ripley as usual and they’re into Priest as well.

********

Roman Reigns will be on Friday’s Smackdown.

********

Deville, Baszler and Stark attacked Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane backstage. They targeted Kai’s knee and told her to stay out of their business.

********

Deville, Baszler and Stark attacked Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane backstage. They targeted Kai’s knee and told her to stay out of their business.

After a break, Deville entered and said there wouldn’t be a match because Kai was under the weather. Sky entered for the match instead.

Iyo Sky (w/Kairi Sane) defetead Sonya Deville (w/Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark) (9:02)

This was the third match to go to break a minute in. Deville paid tribute to SummerSlam by running shoulder-first into the ring post. Sky kicked her leg out of her leg and hit a missile dropkick for two. (A very small collection of fans chanted “This is boring,” as others chanted for Sky.)

Deville responded with a knee strike for two. Sky hit a double knee strike in the corner but Stark put Deville’s foot on the ropes. This led to Sky wiping out Sky and Baszler with a moonsault to the outside while Sane nailed Stark with an Insane elbow to the outside.

Sky followed with a moonsault in the ring for the pinfall win.

********

Ilja Dragunov reminded Sami Zayn that he was a champion who inspired others. Zayn thanked him and said he would be a great champion too one day. Dragunov left and Jey Uso entered.

Zayn was down but Jey tried cheering him up. Jey said he’d shake it off and pick himself up. Zayn said this one in particular felt like a hard pill to swallow. Jey said he’d get his rematch and get his title back.

Zayn was faking us out and was in a good mood after all. Zayn told Jey he already talked to Pearce about getting his rematch next week. Jey was excited and said maybe he could become a double champion after they finish their business with Judgment Day and win the tag titles. They shook hands.

********

Chad Gable cut a quick promo in the back on the way to the ring. He and the Creeds wore matching blue and black gear. They have new music and it appears their team name is “American Made.” The crowd chanted “You suck” to the music.

********

Next week on Raw in Austin, TX:

  • Breakker vs. Zayn for the IC title – 2 out of 3 falls match
  • Sky & Sane vs. Baszler & Stark – number one contender’s match

Six-man tag match: Wyatt Sicks defeated Chad Gable & The Creed Brothers (11:01)

The Wyatt Sicks entered to “Shatter” by Code Orange.

There was a quick brawl that led to Gable and the Creeds being sent from the ring. The crowd chanted “This is awesome” as the dust settled on the Wyatt entrance.

Erick Rowan, Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis wrestled without their masks. Uncle Howdy/Bo Dallas watched from the aisle in his rocking chair while wearing the full Uncle Howdy getup. Abby the Witch/Nikki Cross sat by his feet. (Cole referred to her by both names.)

The Wyatt Sicks were in full control and they powerbombed Lumis out of the ring onto all three American Made members.

Gable had control over Gacy after a break (with no explanation or replay) and the crowd chanted, “We want Rowan.” American Made took turns hitting him with moonsault variations but Lumis broke up the cover. Gacy came back with a double clothesline and Rowan made the hot tag. Rowan ran wild and dunked Gable onto the barricade.

Rowan paid tribute to Brodie Lee with a slingshot senton. Rowan followed with a powerslam but the Creeds broke up the cover. Lumis wiped them out with a dive. Gable gave Rowan a German suplex for two. Gacy and Lumis each hit Julius and Brutus with uranages onto the announce table.

That left Gable alone. Gacy powerbombed Lumis onto Gable and Lumis followed with a splash for the pinfall win.

— The Wyatt Sicks posed around the lantern as the show ended.

(This was fine for what it was. They weren’t going crazy or anything but the crowd enjoyed this.)

Wyatt Sicks in-ring debut set for next week’s WWE Raw

The Wyatt Sicks will make their in-ring debut on the Monday, August 5 WWE Raw.

Wyatt Sicks angle takes place on The Pat McAfee Show

A VHS tape has been delivered to Pat McAfee.

During today’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show, the feed cut away to static before the words “You Lied” flashed on the screen. McAfee, as he has done previously, originally blamed his production team for what happened. Moments later, McAfee appears distracted by something off-set.

McAfee left the set and retrieved a box that contained a VHS tape similar to those Nikki Cross has been leaving at the commentary table during episodes of Raw. As this was going on, baseball analyst Jeff Passan remarked that he felt like Chad Gable.

McAfee later posted to social media that he will be bringing the videotape with him to tonight’s Raw.

“Hey @WWE. I’ll be bringing this #WyattSick6 box tonight to #WWERaw Could you please let the Wyatt’s know that I am a massive fan and I believe @MichaelCole would be a much better handler of the box… and also let them know that it has been an ABSOLUTE HONOR to transfer it a couple of times now but, it’s very ok for me not to. CAN’T WAIT FOR TONIGHT”

The angle takes place around the 1-hour 35-minute mark in the video below:

WWE Raw live results: Money in the Bank qualifiers continue

The fallout from last Monday’s shocking attack from the Wyatt Sicks will be felt on tonight’s WWE Raw from Indianapolis, Indiana.

The new group left many members of the roster bloodied and beaten backstage as the show went off the air including Chad Gable who will be part of a three-way Money in the Bank qualifying bout against Bronson Reed and Braun Strowman.

On the women’s side, Shayna Baszler, Lyra Valkyria, and Kairi Sane will go at it in another qualifying match.

Kofi Kingston will go one-on-one with Karrion Kross as The Final Testament has been trying to recruit Xavier Woods as of late.

Bron Breakker will look to continue his impressive main roster run as he takes on Ludwig Kaiser after Kaiser interfered during Breakker’s match last week against Sheamus.

In a non-title match, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn will take on Kayden Carter & Katana Chance.

**********

Raw began with Michael Cole announcing The Miz as the guest commentator with Pat McAfee missing tonight’s show in Indiana at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse arena.

– Drew McIntyre in-ring promo

McIntyre distracted Miz and Cole as he walked to the ring with no music or entrance despite “quitting” last Monday; he showed a preview of his assault on CM Punk during last Friday’s SmackDown. McIntyre then explained his assault on Punk before mentioning he would wear his Chicago-laden bracelet with Larry (Punk’s beloved dog) and AJ Lee’s names on it to Money in the Bank.

– Chad Gable return

Backstage, Chad Gable arrived, covering the wound on his right temple as he demanded the camera crew to leave him alone.

Ludwig Kaiser defeated Bron Breakker by disqualification

This told a simple story, pitting Kaiser’s ruthless streak against the unstoppable powerhouse of Breakker. The finish sullied the adrenaline rush of the match a bit, but it was still a fun ride.

A cocky Breakker taunted Kaiser as the bell rang, who pie-faced him away in return. Using brute force, Breakker laid Kaiser down flat. To combat this, Kaiser adapted, fighting dirty and operating strategically, employing any method to deter the juggernaut force that is Breakker. Despite Kaiser’s cheap tactics, power made for a heavy roadblock.

From the apron, Breakker soared with a flying lariat to send Kaiser toppling over the commentary table. Following a commercial break, the action followed by Kaiser standing tall over a recovering Breakker in the ring. Breakker, who is faster, stronger, and more agile, withstood lariats, successfully chased Kaiser, and leaped to the top ropes for an insane Frankensteiner.

With brute force and devious tactics dead in the water, survival was the last option for the German member of Imperium. After luring Breakker into crashing at the steel steps, he attempted a long-distance running knee, only for Sheamus to charge at Kaiser out of nowhere, ending the match in a disqualification. Post-match, Bron laid out Sheamus and Kaiser and screamed simply because he is Bron Breakker.

Unfortunately, according to WrestleVotes in a post on X, Kaiser suffered an injury during the match.

Judgement Day locker room segment

Backstage, Carlito, JD McDonough, Finn Balor, and Dominik Mysterio were watching the gameplay of WWE2K25 when Damian Priest entered the room and asked Dominik Mysterio (who was eating chicken nuggets) about Liv Morgan. Mysterio showed Priest a text message sent by Morgan. Judging by the group’s shocked reaction, it was probably not PG material. Priest then chastised Mysterio. Carlito seemed the most pleased by Morgan’s message, however, remarking with a joyful “Now that’s cool.”

– Bron Breakker, Adam Peace, and Sami Zayn backstage segment

Breakker yelled at Pearce backstage, complaining of the constant interference in his matches. Zayn interrupted, setting forth a match for the Intercontinental Championship at Money in the Bank.

Lyra Valkyria defeated Kairi Sane and Shayna Baszler in a Money in the Bank Qualifier Match

These women’s qualifier matches showcase what the roster members have to offer. While this triple-threat wasn’t mind-blowing by any means, it showed the depth of the match. Valkyria in particular continues to stand out as a new main roster talent.

Sane would take the brunt of the offense for Baszler and Valkyria before using her agility and aerial maneuvers to send them over the top rope. She continued to remain dominant after the commercial break and almost got a three-count pin after a missile dropkick. Baszler grappled with both competitors with her MMA style, but Valkyria’s power and Sane’s speed kept them at an advantage. Despite their varying strengths, all three women gave it their all, showing to be evenly matched throughout the match.

Sane inadvertently saved Valkyria from Baszler with an Insane Elbow, to which Valkyria returned the favor by using her Nightwing finisher for the win over the Kabuki Warrior. A qualified Valkyria celebrates with an excellent shot of her pointing to the Money in the Bank briefcases.

– Drew McIntyre, Adam Pearce backstage segment

McIntyre and Pearce bickered backstage over the CM Punk drama, meanwhile, Liv Morgan walked toward the entrance as they spoke; the cameras followed her to the ring.

– Liv Morgan, Dominik Mysterio, and LWO segment

In the squared circle, Liv Morgan teased Dominik Mysterio, flaunting her advances, looks, and championship. Addressing “Daddy Dom”, she promised she would give him what Rhea Ripley wouldn’t. She didn’t get Mysterio, but she got Zelina Vega, who declared her intentions to challenge Morgan for the Women’s World Championship.

Mysterio then entered towards a chorus of boos and changed “Sloppy Seconds”. Mysterio attempted to appeal to Vega to help her, yet she angrily refused. Morgan then attacked Vega. Rey Mysterio got involved to save Vega, but Dominik pushed him down and left in frustration.

– Liv Morgan, Dominik Mysterio, and R-Truth segment

Following an ad break, Morgan hugged Mysterio backstage to his chagrin, and he left. Before she could follow, she was met with R-Truth, who she convinced to set up a tag match with him and The Miz against Judgement Day in the main event. To this, an enraged Miz left Michael Cole alone on commentary.

Chad Gable defeated Braun Strowman and Bronson Reed in a Money in the Bank Qualifier Match

Gable spouted his dismay about last week’s Wyatt Six assault, before declaring he would win the Money in the Briefcase and become Master in the Bank.

The bell rang, and Gable unsuccessfully slapped the chests of Reed and Strowman before they tossed him aside. Instantly, he was made an underdog. Gable eventually caused Strowman to tumble out of the ring but couldn’t handle Reed. Following the commercial break, Strowman returned to action, handling Reed and Gable with relative ease. His dominance continued until Judgement Day ganged up on him.

With no one else in his way, Gable performed an elegant Moonsault from the top turnbuckle, splashing onto Reed, thus securing a pinfall victory.

Post-match, Gable’s jubilation had been ruined, as a crawling Nikki Cross (Sister Abigail of the Wyatt Six) emerged from smoke. At this visage, the traumatized and scared Gable out of the ring. She placed a mysterious box in front of Michael Cole on commentary, as two security members were laid out on the table. Inside the box was a VHS tape that Cole told viewers would be played on a “VHS machine”, which is actually called a VCR. That’s an easy mistake to make.

Until the outside interference, this felt like a Kane vs Mark Henry vs Kurt Angle match I would’ve watched in 2006. Each man played off each other well, with Strowman looking incredible, as did Reed. Gable continues to be a net positive, and I’m glad that he re-signed with the company.

– Alpha Academy and Creeds backstage segment

Chad Gable apologized to all members of Alpha Academy. Though they accepted it, they did not accept him back in the group. Maxxine Dupri assured Gable that they were all glad he was okay, but Otis needed some time. Interestingly, Ivy Nile and The Creed Brothers checked up on Gable immediately following this.

The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn) defeated Kayden Carter & Katana Chance in a non-title match

Carter & Chance’s high speed and agility quickly laid out Fyre & Dawn. This continued after the commercial break, lasting until Fyre and Dawn made a triumphant comeback. The match was quick, combining a Gory Bomb and Russian Legsweep Combo to end the match, with Fyre pinning Chance thereafter.

Post-match, Damage CTRL attacked Fyre & Dawn.

It was deflating to see this match end so soon when it just started getting exhilarating especially with Women’s Tag Team Champions being featured. Even Damage CTRL’s antics felt a bit lifeless.

Judgement Day & Liv Morgan segment

Damian Priest approached the Judgement Day locker room, noticing Morgan leaving with a Cheshire grin on her face. Fearing Dominik was inside and preyed upon, Priest only found Finn Balor, who assured him nothing shady happened, instead sharing the news of the Tag Team Championship match against R-Truth & The Miz later in the night.

Damian Priest & Seth Rollins in-ring promo

Priest called out Rollins in what felt like a babyface vs babyface confrontation. Priest proclaimed his respect for Rollins, but the former World Heavyweight Champion hinted that he doesn’t think Priest has what it takes to be the Champion. The crowd didn’t help matters, as they chanted “You suck!” Rollins upped the ante by stating that if he lost, he wouldn’t challenge Priest for the title again, but if Priest lost, he would have to leave The Judgement Day. Priest reluctantly accepted.

Gunther entered and made clear his intentions to use his King of the Ring win to challenge whosoever wins the World Heavyweight Championship Match at Money in the Bank come SummerSlam.

– Wyatt Sicks VHS tape recording

In a dimly lit room under the fuzzy VHS static, Uncle Howdy asked Bo Dallas how he was doing since the loss of his brother, Bray Wyatt. He asked Dallas if he thought he was exploiting Wyatt’s legacy. Dallas refuted this, instead he echoed his sentiments on the Bray Wyatt: Becoming Immortal documentary that he and Wyatt were finally supposed to enter the next chapter of their career together. Howdy and Dallas then agreed that they made everyone remember Wyatt after that chaotic Wyatt Sicks debut last week. Throughout this tape, Dallas and Howdy were met with closeups until the end, as though this conversation was bringing them together in the bigger picture.

(I liked that the VHS tape adhered to the analog horror presentation of the QR code videos, and this promo felt personal. As a result, it felt uncomfortable but in a way that art is supposed to make us feel because this is a storyline based in grief and healing.)

Karrion Kross defeated Kofi Kingston

Kingston fought like the fate of Xavier Woods was on the line as Kross tried every dirty tactic that he could. Paul Ellering distracted Kingston with a backstage assault from the Authors of Pain on Woods in the back. This gave just enough time for Kross to foil Kingston with a Final Prayer for the win.

This was short and felt like a nothingburger which is a shame considering the importance of the match was on Kingston and Woods’s growing distance and The Final Testament’s relentless pursuit of him. The heat to this feud should feel hotter given New Day’s longevity.

The Judgment Day (JD McDonagh & Finn Balor) defeated R-Truth & The Miz for the World Tag Team Championship

Former unofficial Judgment Day member R-Truth was being picked away by JD McDonagh in the early goings. The rest of Judgement Day and Liv Morgan ran interference to give McDonagh a chance, which resulted in R-Truth’s incapacitation. Braun Strowman promptly chased them off, evening the playing field for R-Truth and The Miz.

R-Truth gained the upper hand by giving a Ten-Knuckle Shuffle to McDonagh & Balor, nearly having the match won. Unfortunately for the champions, Morgan distracted the gullible R-Truth with a seemingly wholesome hug before betraying him. It turns out that love was not in the air. With a Coup de Grace, Balor won the World Tag Team Championship, pinning a horizontal R-Truth. The show ended with Balor, McDonagh, and Morgan holding their respective belts in the air.

Almost capturing the magic of Judgement Day’s earlier matches with then-tag champs Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, there was electricity in the air with the audience. For me, it didn’t quite capture that feeling, but an effort was made. R-Truth’s agility and comedy did the heavy lifting, as did Balor and McDonagh’s skills.

**********

Overall, this episode of Raw was above average. The women’s matches could have been longer, there could have been more match time overall, actually. The highlights were Seth Rollins & Damian Priest’s promo and Chad Gable’s story continuing with possible Creed integration. The Liv Morgan portions were more abundant than I’d have liked but she makes the most of it every time spent on camera. The treatment of her storyline with Dominik is veering towards uncomfortable and tone-deaf. Uncle Howdy and Bo Dallas’s emotional VHS segment was the high point, touching on a deeply heart-wrenching yet haunting conversation.

VIDEO: The Wyatt Sicks appear to disrupt Pat McAfee Show

Pat McAfee and the cast of The Pat McAfee Show might be the latest victims of the Wyatt Sicks.

McAfee was interviewing author Jack Carr on his show on Thursday when suddenly everyone’s attention was drawn off-set. Then the lights in the studio switched off in a manner similar to how they did at the end of Raw on Monday. No one from the show has posted to social media since.

Since the Wyatt Sicks debuted on Monday, Mika Rotunda wrote a lengthy post on Instagram detailing how proud she was to see the segment. WWE commentator Corey Graves has also said the segment moved him to tears.

“I don’t think it could have been done any better than it was Monday night,” Graves said while guest hosting on Over the Top.

Erick Rowan, Nikki Cross, and Joe Gacy both revealed their roles in the angle on social media shortly after it aired. Indi Hartwell also seemingly responded to the segment as well, posting a photo of a sign advertising for divorces. In storyline, she was married to Dexter Lumis, who is also believed to be part of the group.
