On the Sunday Wrestling Observer Live, Josh Nason returns to talk about, what else, the biggest star of 2025: R-Truth.

Now apparently going by his real name of Ron Killings, he made a surprise appearance at Sunday’s WWE Money in the Bank and laid out John Cena to help Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso pick up the win.

Then, the dumbest argument in some time broke out on social media: was the whole thing a work? I answer that question which you can surmise the answer for by the headline above.

I also look ahead to this Wednesday’s AEW Summer Blockbuster card, what happens to wrestling if Triller goes away and other leftover thoughts from the week.

WOL: WWE Backlash fallout

Editor’s Note: This week’s show was recorded prior to the announcement Sabu had passed away.

WWE Backlash took place Saturday and Andrew Zarian breaks everything down on today’s Wrestling Observer Live.

That includes the main event featuring John Cena vs. Randy Orton, taking us back to 2004. He also discusses the standout performers, including Jacob Fatu and Lyra Valkyria.

Wrestling Observer Live: Cody & Roman, live perspective of WWE SmackDown in Sacramento

Wrestling Observer Live Saturday with Jim Valley. Minutes before the show started, Sports Byline Producer Daniel mentioned he went to SmackDown Friday night in Sacramento.

Not only did we have his thoughts, but we also kept talking during the commercial breaks. So it’s a longer show with bonus content:

  • Was the crowd bummed that some main event stars weren’t there?
  • Who did they like?
  • Who was the most over?
  • Who does Daniel think saved the show for the live crowd?

The Cody and Roman confrontation was CINEMA! It was pretty. But was it effective, or too over the top? If Cody and Roman are CINEMA, then Chelsea Green is Lucille Ball, a brilliant comedian.
