Last October’s WWE Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia, surpassed a rare ticket revenue threshold for the company, part of another gigantic year for WWE.
Revealed as part of new data from Post Wrestling’s Brandon Thurston using Pollstar data, the October 11 premium live event generated $4.16 million U.S. dollars on 11,682 tickets at the RAC Arena, an average price of $338.
That makes the show the third-highest in WWE history for arena gate revenue, trailing John Cena’s final match (over $6.5 million in December 2025) and the Raw Netflix debut (over $4.8 million in January 2025). Adjusted for inflation, it’s the fourth-highest ever after WrestleMania V ($1.628 million in 1989).
The show featured John Cena’s final match in the country as well as Seth Rollins vs. Cody Rhodes for the ceremonial Crown Jewel title. It was part of a five-event, 18-month TKO deal with the local government that includes both WWE and UFC events.
John Cena created a special moment at WWE Crown Jewel: Perth — but it was something he felt the need to apologize for afterwards.
Before his match against AJ Styles at the October PLE, Cena handed ring announcer Alicia Taylor an introduction that he personally wrote for Styles. It paid tribute to Styles’ past, referencing his career in TNA and being part of the Bullet Club in NJPW. According to Cena, the introduction was a surprise to everyone.
“Dude, I just wanted to do something nice for my guy,” Cena said on Insight with Chris Van Vliet. “I didn’t even show Alicia until I handed her the paper.”
Cena was trying to create something special with the introduction, but he regrets not informing people about it in advance. Even if he kept it secret from Styles and Taylor, Cena feels like he should have been a team player by telling those in WWE creative. He apologized to a few people in creative for surprising them with what he did.
“I went about it the wrong way. I went into business for myself. I should have gotten permission to do that. And I would have gotten permission to do that, but I told no one about it because I wanted to do something special,” Cena said. “And in doing so, the people running the show felt surprised. And that’s not a position I ever want to put them in because they award me such creative liberty.
“Wonderful moment, but like, we’re all trying to make these moments special and we’re all on the same team. And it shouldn’t be me doing something outside of that realm. If I tell my teammates, ‘Hey, let’s do it.’ I can keep it from AJ, I can keep it from Alicia, but if I tell my teammates who are crafting this show, maybe they make it look better. And the first thing I did was thank AJ. The second thing I did was pull a few creative individuals aside and say, ‘I’m sorry, that will never happen again. I know where I f*cked up. I’m so sorry. And I went into business for myself. That’s not me. I hope you look at my body of work and all the times I’ve asked for permission. And this is the one time I asked for forgiveness.’ It got the best of me, but I wanted to do something nice for AJ.”
Crown Jewel: Perth was the last-ever match in the Cena vs. Styles rivalry. Cena is retiring from the ring this weekend at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. Styles’ retirement is not quite as imminent, but he plans to end his in-ring career at some point in 2026.
John Cena Sr. was a huge fan of the match his son had against AJ Styles at Crown Jewel: Perth.
While speaking with Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Cena Sr. heaped praise on the October 11 bout, calling it something that all up-and-coming wrestlers should watch. He did not think much of the build WWE had for Cena vs. Styles, but that did not have any affect on the match quality.
“It wasn’t much,” Cena Sr. said about the build. “It was a very poor buildup to what I consider to be a phenomenal match. Forget about [it being] John Cena Jr. That was an outstanding match. And any of the young people coming up ought to take a good look at that match, because that’s the way it ought to be in pro wrestling. That was phenomenal.”
The build to Cena vs. Styles was done on social media with Cena calling for WWE to give the fans what they want. Cena’s WWE schedule did not have any appearances between Wrestlepalooza and Crown Jewel, which is why the build happened that way.
Cena Sr. told Sportskeeda WrestleBinge that his son and Styles showed a high level of ring psychology in how they performed. Renewing the Cena-Styles rivalry one last time, the match went nearly 30 minutes with Cena getting the victory.
“The one that they learned, and that young people need to learn in this business, is ring psychology,” Cena Sr. said. “They read their crowd and they performed to what the crowd wanted. You notice, they didn’t stop — they listened. And when they did, they just went ‘bang, bang, bang.’ They worked so well together. So well together. And I think that’s so important in this business.”
After the bell rang, Cena Sr. sent his son a text telling him how much he loved it. The younger Cena replied that he was breathing hard following the match but had a lot of fun.
“I said, ‘John, it was phenomenal.’ He said, ‘I’m glad you enjoyed it, dad. It was a lot of fun.'”
Cena Sr. said it’s sad that the industry is losing two great competitors, but he believes both are making the right choice by making room for younger talent to take the spotlight and stepping away before their bodies break down.
AJ Styles believes he and John Cena delivered something special in their final time ever facing each other.
Styles and Cena — who are both approaching the end of their in-ring careers — renewed their rivalry on October 11 at WWE Crown Jewel: Perth. It was their first one-on-one match against each other since 2018, and Styles was happy to get one more opportunity to share the ring with an opponent he trusts so much.
“I’m not sure there is anyone in the ring I trust more than John Cena,” Styles told the Boston Herald. “He’s incredible at understanding what the fans need when they need it. He’s even more incredible with the way he treats people.
“During our match at Crown Jewel, which is the last time we’ll ever wrestle each other, I was in the moment. I embraced and enjoyed it — I mean, it’s hard not to love what you do when you’re having so much fun doing it. People might be surprised to hear this, but for John and myself, it was another match until it was over. Afterward, we were able to reflect on its significance. In the moment, we were doing what we do to entertain people.”
Cena picked up the win at Crown Jewel in what was his final time ever wrestling in Australia. Before the bell rang, there was a special moment where Styles was surprised with a special ring introduction that Cena wrote for him. It included references to Styles’ time in TNA Wrestling and NJPW.
“It definitely caught me off guard,” Styles said about the introduction. “When I heard ‘The definition of Total Nonstop Action,’ I thought to myself, ‘Wait a minute.’ He took this from just being about John to making it about John and AJ Styles. It’s something he didn’t have to do, but that’s John. That’s just who he is.”
Cena only has four more dates on his WWE retirement tour, which will conclude on December 13 at Saturday Night’s Main Event. As for Styles, he plans to retire in 2026 but has not put an exact date on it yet.
“We’ve been doing this for decades, this is what we do,” Styles told the Boston Herald while reflecting on the Cena match. “The greatest part is it meant a lot to a lot of people. We wanted to give wrestling fans something special, and I think we accomplished that.”
Styles won gold on WWE Raw last night, teaming with Dragon Lee to win the World Tag Team titles from Finn Balor & JD McDonagh.
John Cena really did write the ring introduction read by WWE ring announcer Alicia Taylor for AJ Styles at Crown Jewel.
Cena handed Taylor a note before Styles’ introduction, which included references to his past with Bullet Club, TNA Wrestling, and more.
Bryan Alvarez reports that Cena really did write Styles’ ring introduction for the show and Styles had no idea it was going to happen. Alvarez posted to his subscribers on X:
“Apparently John Cena wrote the ring intro for AJ Styles and AJ had no idea.”
Taylor introduced Styles for the match:
“The definition of Total Nonstop Action. The Ace and Undisputed Boss of The Bullet Club. It is our honor as fans and my honor as an opponent to see if he can beat up John Cena one final time. He is the face that runs the place, the phenomenon AJ Styles!”

John Cena has wrestled his final match in Australia.
Cena defeated AJ Styles today at WWE Crown Jewel in Perth in a match filled with tributes to former rivals of both men.
Following the match, Cena and Styles raised each other’s hands as Michael Cole noted that only four dates remain in Cena’s career. He also mentioned on commentary that Styles will retire in 2026, something Styles announced in an interview with Tokyo Sports last month.
Tributes to former rivals during John Cena vs. AJ Styles at WWE Crown Jewel
The first homage saw Cena hit The Miz’s Skull Crushing Finale. He later put Styles in an Accolade/Camel Clutch, leading the crowd to chant “Rusev Day.”
Styles locked Cena in a Coquina Clutch at one point, a possible nod to Samoa Joe. Cena then applied Chris Jericho’s Walls of Jericho, which drew a big reaction from the live crowd.
Later, Cena hit Bray Wyatt’s Sister Abigail on Styles for a near fall and another big reaction. Fans brought out the “fireflies” and chanted “Thank you, Wyatt.”
Cena later delivered a draping DDT followed by a Randy Orton-style RKO for another near fall. He then hit Styles with an Undertaker-style chokeslam. When fans chanted for a 619, Cena draped Styles across the ropes, but Styles cut him off with a clothesline when he went for the move.
THE CROWD WAS CHANTING FOR A 619 AND CENA ALMOST DID IT!!
Styles hit a Shawn Michaels-style superkick for a near fall, followed by a Phenomenal Forearm for another. Cena answered back with a second Attitude Adjustment for a near fall. Cena finally hit a Tombstone piledriver followed by a third Attitude Adjustment to score the win.
Thank you @JohnCena and thank you @AJStylesOrg. A masterclass and beautiful tribute to wrestling.
The opening match of WWE Crown Jewel saw interference from The Vision’s Bron Breakker, who speared Reigns outside the ring. Moments later, Jimmy and Jey Uso came out to help their cousin. However, once the street fight returned to the ring, Jey went to spear Reed through a table but missed, putting Reigns through the table instead. Reed then hit Reigns with a Tsunami and scored the pin.
Following the match, Reigns admonished his cousins for getting involved, telling them, “The whole world thinks I can’t do s–t on my own.” He told Jimmy and Jey that he loved them, but didn’t want to see them again “until Christmas.”
Our ongoing live coverage of WWE Crown Jewel 2025 is available here.
With the win, Reed becomes the first wrestler to pin Roman Reigns since Cody Rhodes did so at WrestleMania XL last year in Philadelphia. With Reigns having defeated Reed at Clash in Paris, their head-to-head series is now tied 1–1.

The 2025 winner of the WWE Women’s Crown Jewel Championship has been decided.
Stephanie Vaquer defeated Tiffany Stratton today in Perth, Australia to win the title. The finish saw Stratton miss a Prettiest Moonsault Ever, followed by Vaquer hitting a top-rope corkscrew splash for the win.
Following her victory, Paul “Triple H” Levesque presented Vaquer with the Crown Jewel Championship ring and wrapped the Women’s Crown Jewel Championship belt around her waist.
Jackie Redmond interviewed Vaquer after the match. She was visibly emotional as the crowd chanted, “You deserve it.”
“Today we made history together,” Vaquer told the live crowd. “This is a beautiful championship. This represents all the motivation, support, and love you all have given me.”
“You believe in me. Now I believe in me.”
The win comes less than a month after Vaquer became the Women’s World Champion by defeating IYO SKY for the vacant title at Wrestlepalooza.
Last year, Liv Morgan became the inaugural Women’s Crown Jewel Champion when she defeated Nia Jax in Riyadh at Crown Jewel 2024. Morgan has been out of action since suffering a shoulder injury on the June 16 episode of Raw. She underwent surgery for the injury later that month.
John Cena looks like a lock in Perth this weekend, but the rest of Saturday’s WWE Crown Jewel (8 AM Eastern start time on ESPN/Netflix) is harder to call.
The men’s and women’s Crown Jewel Championship matches both have close odds.
According to the betting world, Seth Rollins and Stephanie Vaquer are slight favorites, but far from the enormous odds we sometimes see in wrestling.
Meanwhile, John Cena is a heavy favorite to defeat AJ Styles although when the line first came out, oddsmakers were not as confident as they appear to be now. Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY are also heavy favorites to beat The Kabuki Warriors.
The final match added to the card, Bronson Reed vs. Roman Reigns in an Australian street fight, is hard to predict for a few reasons discussed below.
Below are previews and predictions for each match at WWE Crown Jewel 2025.
John Cena vs. AJ Styles
Cena is a -1600 favorite to beat Styles (+600) in Perth this weekend.
Ever since Wrestlepalooza, the grumblings from unhappy fans regarding Cena’s retirement tour have started to grow louder. The whole story with him at Crown Jewel appears to be trying to appease those fans by creating the impression that the match against Styles wouldn’t have happened if fans hadn’t demanded it (even though it would have).
While Cena was a slight favorite heading into Wrestlepalooza against Brock Lesnar, WWE had motivation to keep Lesnar strong that they don’t have with Styles who has said he’ll retire next year as well. There was a good reason to put Lesnar over Cena, but there isn’t that with Styles. Barring a mid-match injury, Cena will pick up the feel-good win.
Prediction: John Cena
Women’s Crown Jewel Championship: Stephanie Vaquer vs. Tiffany Stratton
Vaquer is a -280 favorite to defeat Stratton (+180) in the Women’s Crown Jewel Championship match and she probably will, but this is a tough one.
WWE has booked itself into a corner here. They’ve got two heavily protected babyfaces going against each other. The likelihood that they find some way not to do an actual finish seems very strong. Perhaps Vaquer and Stratton end up uniting to fight off some invading heels.
However, somebody needs to win the Crown Jewel title and I think Vaquer is the stronger candidate. A possible finish here is interference from Nia Jax or perhaps a heel-turning Jade Cargill to cost Stratton the match and set up the next big feud on SmackDown.
Prediction: Stephanie Vaquer
Australian Street Fight: Bronson Reed vs. Roman Reigns
Reigns is a -350 favorite to beat Reed (+225), but there are a few reasons to believe Reed has a shot.
If WWE wants to move Reed up a level, they can do it here, but I’m not sure if they will. Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez discussed Roman vs. Reed on a recent Wrestling Observer Radio and their disagreement, I think, sums up what’s interesting about this match.
Alvarez noted that it’s in Reed’s home country and the street fight rules allow for interference, giving Reed a path to win without hurting Reigns. But Meltzer was hesitant to agree, noting that WWE doesn’t have Reigns lose often. Where you land on this most likely depends on how much you want to see Reed as a top guy.
A big part of me agrees with Meltzer. Reigns is where the money is, not Reed. But Reigns is already up 1-0 in the feud, and a Reed win will set up a rubber match for later. I don’t feel very confident in it, but I’m going to take Reed to get the win after House of Torture-level interference from The Vision.
Prediction: Bronson Reed
Men’s Crown Jewel Championship: Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins
Rollins is a -400 favorite heading into the Men’s Crown Jewel Championship match against Rhodes (+250), but I would give him better odds than that.
Rollins’ interactions with Paul Heyman on Raw this week regarding his need to win in Perth kind of made it so that he has to win in Perth. Since Rhodes won the Crown Jewel Championship last year, the only reason to have him win it again here is to keep the title/ring as something only the top guy in the company ever wins, building it as the ultimate prize to fight over every year. But I don’t know if that’s what they want to do.
Winning the Crown Jewel title gives Rollins something to brag about for a year, whereas with Rhodes, he already won it and barely mentioned it for the next 365 days. Winning it again isn’t going to do much for him.
Either one of or both Rollins and Reed will win their matches via interference from The Vision. The easy answer is that it will be both.
Prediction: Seth Rollins
Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY vs. The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane)
Ripley and SKY are heavy favorites (-1500) to beat the Kabuki Warriors (+600).
Normally, a freshly-turned heel such as Asuka would be the favorite heading into their first big match with an updated character. In this case, however, with it being Ripley wrestling in Australia, and fans expecting a very hesitant-to-go-along-with-things Sane to stand up for herself eventually, the babyfaces are the heavy favorites.
Over the past few weeks, Sane has possibly been the most conflicted character in the entire history of pro wrestling. When Asuka tells her to attack SKY, Sane looks so torn that it sometimes seems like her left arm is trying to physically stop her right from striking her old teammate. This poor woman wants to hold onto her family so deeply that it might literally tear her into two pieces. Sad.
I think she needs to let go and join Ripley and SKY on the good guy team and will help Ripley and SKY win if she does so at Crown Jewel.
Prediction: Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY
Follow along with our live coverage all day long Saturday.
A previously reported match is now confirmed for Crown Jewel.
Roman Reigns opened Monday’s Raw in Dallas, Texas but was immediately interrupted by Bronson Reed and Paul Heyman, who took time to mention that they last time they met, Reed put Reigns in a stretcher, something that never happened to Afa or Sika or other members of the Anoa’i family. Reigns responded by challenging Reed to a match right then and there. Reed seemed to accept the offer but Heyman stopped him, instead issuing the challenge for an Australian street fight at Crown Jewel. Reigns accepted.
Reigns then dared Reed to fight him. Reed walked away, but when Reigns called both “b******,” Reed came to the ring and the two brawled, with security eventually stepping in. Reigns broke free and brawled with Reed to end the segment.
The two last met at Clash in Paris, with Reigns scoring the win. After the match, Heyman presented to Reigns his shoes that Reed stole from him. Reigns put Heyman in a guillotine choke that opened an opportunity for Reed and Bron Breakker, who attacked Reigns. Reed gave Reigns three tsunamis, causing him to be stretchered out.

Men’s Crown Jewel title match: WWE Champion Cody Rhodes vs. World Champion Seth Rollins
Women’s Crown Jewel title match: WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton vs. Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer

Fans will get to see John Cena vs. AJ Styles one more time before Cena retires.
WWE has confirmed that Cena vs. Styles will take place at Crown Jewel: Perth on October 11. It’s the last time Cena will ever compete in Australia, with him only having a handful of dates left before his retirement tour concludes in December.
The match was announced by Paul “Triple H” Levesque on X/Twitter today after being set up by Cena. With Cena not having any TV appearances before Crown Jewel, the build for the match was done on social media with Cena lobbying for Levesque to give fans what they want. After Styles accepted his challenge, it was made official for Crown Jewel.
“@JohnCena vs. @AJStylesOrg is a match we all want to see,” Levesque wrote. “And at #WWECrownJewel…we will.”
Styles has been the opponent for some of Cena’s best-ever matches, including their meetings at SummerSlam 2016 and Royal Rumble 2018. They have not had a one-on-one match since 2018.
Cena is coming off a loss to Brock Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza where Lesnar won in dominant fashion.
Crown Jewel: Perth has a special start time of 8 a.m. Eastern time on October 11. It will stream live on the ESPN app in the United States and on Netflix internationally.
