Four matches announced for next week’s WWE SmackDown

Much of the lineup for next Friday’s SmackDown has already been revealed.

– NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley will face off in a non-title champion vs. champion match on next Friday’s show. That was set up when Charlotte appeared on SmackDown tonight as part of the brand-to-brand invitation.

Bayley challenged Charlotte to the champion vs. champion match and Charlotte accepted. Charlotte also asked if Sasha Banks is her own woman or if she’s happy being Bayley’s lackey and an afterthought.

– The first round of WWE’s Intercontinental title tournament will conclude with the remaining first round matches taking place on next week’s SmackDown. Jeff Hardy will face off with Sheamus, and AJ Styles will take on Shinsuke Nakamura. The winner of Hardy vs. Sheamus will advance to face Daniel Bryan in the semifinals. The winner of Styles vs. Nakamura will advance to a semifinal match against Elias.

– A mixed tag grudge match is also set for SmackDown next week. It will be Mandy Rose & Otis vs. Sonya Deville & Dolph Ziggler.

Following his win in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match, Otis appeared on a Miz TV segment at the start of SmackDown tonight. It led to Braun Strowman later agreeing to team with Otis in the main event and them defeating Miz & Morrison.

A promo with Deville and Ziggler also aired on SmackDown tonight, with Deville saying Rose will never be a winner like her and will never have the skill, talent, charisma, and mind that Deville has. Deville said she’s just getting started ruining Rose’s life.

Mandy Rose vs. Sonya Deville announced for WWE SmackDown

Sonya Deville vs. Mandy Rose will happen this Friday.

It was announced tonight during Raw that Mandy Rose will face Sonya Deville on SmackDown. The two have been feuding for the last few weeks, ever since it was revealed that it was Sonya Deville who conspired with Dolph Ziggler to stop the relationship between Otis and Mandy Rose before it could go any further.

Deville has been determined to go after Rose at any cost since then, wanting the spotlight away from Rose and on her. Deville cost Rose a chance at entering the Money in the Bank ladder match after Deville distracted her last week.

Otis, who also had a Money in the Bank qualifying match that night, went on to defeat Dolph Ziggler to enter the match.

Already announced for SmackDown is a face-to-face between Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman ahead of their Money in the Bank Universal title match, the return of Jeff Hardy, Tamina & Lacey Evans vs. Sasha Banks & Bayley and a six-man tag team match pitting King Corbin, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Cesaro vs. Daniel Bryan, Drew Gulak, and a partner of their choosing.

Six-woman tag match added to next week’s WWE SmackDown

Bayley and her next challenger will face off in a six-woman tag match on next week’s episode of SmackDown.

WWE has added SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley, Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville vs. Nikki Cross, Carmella & Dana Brooke to the lineup for next Friday’s show. Cross won a six-pack challenge last week to become the number one contender to Bayley’s title, though WWE hasn’t announced when Cross will be getting her title shot.

Cross pinned Rose in the six-pack challenge, which also included Deville, Carmella, Brooke, and Lacey Evans. On last night’s SmackDown, Cross defeated Rose in a singles match.

Bayley and Sasha Banks were on commentary for Cross vs. Rose. Cross had a staredown with them after the match.

Next Friday’s SmackDown is taking place the day after Crown Jewel. The KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York is hosting SmackDown, with Roman Reigns vs. Baron Corbin, The Revival vs. Kofi Kingston & Big E for the SmackDown Tag Team titles, and a Miz TV segment with Bray Wyatt also announced for the show.

Women’s Tag title match, Mysterio vs. Andrade added to WWE Raw

Two more matches have been added to the lineup for tonight’s SummerSlam go-home show.

WWE has announced that Women’s Tag Team Champions Peyton Royce & Billie Kay will defend their titles against Asuka & Kairi Sane, Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville, and Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross in a fatal four-way elimination match on Raw. Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade is also set for tonight’s episode.

Royce & Kay vs. Rose & Deville in a non-title match was set up for last week’s SmackDown, but the match didn’t end up happening. WWE uploaded a video where The IIconics claimed that Kay had “puppy fever” and couldn’t wrestle on the show. Rose & Deville and Asuka & Sane then argued over who should get the next title shot.

Bliss & Cross defeated Bayley & Ember Moon on SmackDown last week.

Andrade eliminated Mysterio during a gauntlet match on last Monday’s Raw. He then ripped off Mysterio’s mask in a post-match angle.

Ricochet won the gauntlet match and will challenge for AJ Styles’ United States Championship at SummerSlam.

The PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is hosting tonight’s Raw. Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair vs. Natalya & Trish Stratus, a Miz TV segment with Shawn Michaels and Dolph Ziggler, and an appearance by Brock Lesnar have also been confirmed for the episode.

Matches announced for next week’s WWE SmackDown, 205 Live

WWE has announced the first few matches for next week’s SmackDown and 205 Live television tapings in London, England.

On SmackDown, Asuka & Kairi Sane will team against Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville. Rose & Deville defeated Ember Moon & Carmella on last night’s episode. Paige then appeared with Asuka & Sane and announced the tag team match for next Tuesday.

Members of the NXT UK roster will be appearing on next week’s 205 Live. Cruiserweight Champion Tony Nese will face Ligero in a non-title match, which comes in advance of Nese defending his title against Ariya Daivari at Money in the Bank on May 19.

A fatal four-way match between Jack Gallagher, Humberto Carrillo, Mark Andrews, and James Drake is also set for next week’s 205 Live. Andrews and Drake are both on the NXT UK roster. Drake & Zack Gibson are the current NXT UK Tag Team Champions.

Next week’s Raw and SmackDown are both being taped at the O2 Arena in London.

Asuka’s WM challenger to be decided on next week’s WWE SmackDown

Asuka didn’t make an appearance on this week’s SmackDown, but WWE has announced how her challenger for WrestleMania will be determined.

WWE uploaded a post-show video where Kayla Braxton interviewed Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville. Rose vs. Deville vs. Naomi vs. Carmella in a fatal four-way match was announced for next week’s SmackDown, with the winner challenging for Asuka’s SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 35.

Asuka retained her title by defeating Rose at Fastlane earlier this month. The finish of the match was Asuka hitting a kick and pinning Rose after Rose slipped on a kendo stick that Deville put on the ring apron. Asuka then defeated Deville on last week’s SmackDown. This time, the finish was Rose trying to interfere but causing Deville to slip.

Asuka has been SmackDown Women’s Champion since defeating Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair in a tables, ladders, and chairs match at December’s TLC pay-per-view.

Next week’s SmackDown is taking place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

WWE Elimination Chamber notes: Orton gets advantage, Deville & Rose start

The first two teams to enter the Women’s tag team title Elimination Chamber match has been determined, while we also now know who will enter the WWE title Elimination Chamber match last.

Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose lost tonight to Carmella & Naomi and the Iiconics in a three way match where the team that was pinned would start their Elimination Chamber match on Sunday. Naomi pinned Rose with a split legged moonsault off the top rope. They will start the match against Bayley & Sasha Banks, who lost a similar match on Raw against Tamina & Nia Jax and the Riott Squad.

Randy Orton meanwhile will enter the Elimination Chamber for the WWE title last. A gauntlet match was held for much of SmackDown’s second hour, with Kofi Kingston (entering the match after Mustafa Ali was pulled due to injury) outlasting four other men for nearly the entire duration of the match before tapping out to AJ Styles’ calf crusher. As Styles was anticipating Orton to enter the arena through the entrance, Orton instead snuck up from behind and planted Styles with the RKO, pinning him to win the match.

The Elimination Chamber PPV will be held this Sunday at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville added to Women’s Tag Team title match

The first SmackDown team have entered themselves into the Elimination Chamber match that will crown the first WWE Women’s tag team champions.

On tonight’s episode, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville were being interviewed when they declared themselves as a part of the Elimination Chamber, promising that they would become the first champions. This was starkly different compared to last night’s Raw where teams faced off against one another to get the opportunity to enter the Chamber.

Those matches on Raw had Nia Jax and Tamina defeat Alexa Bliss and Mickie James, while Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan defeated the makeshift team of Natalya and Dana Brooke. The third Raw spot will be decided next week when Bayley and Sasha Banks team up to take on the team of Alicia Fox and Nikki Cross.

These will be the first women’s tag team titles in the company since 1989, when the previous titles were abandoned.

Shane-Miz segment, Carmella vs. Deville set for WWE SmackDown

WWE has announced a segment and another match for Tuesday’s SmackDown.

The episode is taking place on the same day as Shane McMahon’s 49th birthday, and that will be worked into one of the segments for the show. WWE is hyping that The Miz has said he’s going to throw Shane “The Best Birthday Bash in the World” on Tuesday.

Shane & Miz will challenge for Cesaro & Sheamus’ SmackDown Tag Team titles at the Royal Rumble on January 27. The storyline for Shane and Miz has been Miz trying to get Shane to be his tag team partner since the World Cup tournament at Crown Jewel. Shane finally agreed to it after Miz said that he wants to team with Shane to make his father proud. Miz said his father told him Miz & Shane would be the best tag team in the world.

Carmella vs. Sonya Deville has also been confirmed for Tuesday’s SmackDown. The matchup was set up by Carmella and Deville going back and forth on Twitter, with Deville saying she should have been in last week’s number one contender’s match instead of Carmella. Deville has been involved in Mandy Rose’s feud with Naomi recently.

Tuesday’s SmackDown is taking place at Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama. Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade “Cien” Almas is also set for the episode.

WWE confirms three more Royal Rumble entrants

Jeff Hardy cut a backstage promo at Saturday night’s SmackDown house show in Greensboro, North Carolina, officially entering the men’s Royal Rumble. Seth Rollins and Finn Balor were confirmed for the men’s Rumble match earlier this weekend.

WWE also posted video of a promo from Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville backstage at the Greensboro show. It was announced that both Rose and Deville will be in the women’s Royal Rumble match.

Charlotte Flair vs. Sonya Deville set for WWE SmackDown

Another match is set for SmackDown’s go-home show for Hell in a Cell.

WWE announced today that SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair will face Sonya Deville in a non-title match on Tuesday. It will be part of the final build to Charlotte defending her title against Becky Lynch at Hell in a Cell on September 16.

Lynch responded to a tweet from Charlotte about how Charlotte embraces every challenge whenever she steps into the ring: “Charlotte. One, you tweet like an Android. Two, I’m going to reintroduce your face to my fist on Tuesday. #TickTock #IBooTheWoo”

Charlotte and Lynch took part in a split-screen interview segment on SmackDown last week to further their storyline. Lynch vowed to take the title from Charlotte, and Charlotte asked what Lynch’s excuse will be when she loses this time.

The Cajundome in Lafayette, Louisiana is hosting Tuesday’s SmackDown. Cesaro & Sheamus vs. Rusev & Aiden English in a number one contender’s match has also been announced for the episode, with the winning team advancing to challenge for The New Day’s Tag Team titles at Hell in a Cell.

Another MITB qualifier announced for WWE SmackDown

WWE has announced a third Money in the Bank qualifying match for Tuesday’s SmackDown.

Naomi vs. Sonya Deville was added to the lineup for the May 22nd episode today. Deville was involved in a triple threat qualifier this week where Mandy Rose tapped out to an armbar from Becky Lynch.

To set up the match, Deville tweeted to Paige and pointed out that she wasn’t the person who submitted against Lynch. Paige then responded by announcing that Deville will be facing Naomi: “Ohhhh the sass on ya, @SonyaDevilleWWE, they grow up so fast…OK, you get your #MITB qualifying match this Tuesday on #SDLive against…@NaomiWWE. Let’s see if you can stand on your two feet, sweetheart.”

Samoa Joe vs. Big Cass and Billie Kay vs. Lana are the other two qualifiers that are scheduled for Tuesday. There will also be a Miz TV segment with Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods as part of a storyline where Miz is trying to find out which New Day member they’ll select to be in the men’s ladder match. And WWE should follow up on Shinsuke Nakamura defeating AJ Styles for the right to choose the stipulation for their Money in the Bank title bout.

The updated lineups for this year’s Money in the Bank ladder matches are listed below. The pay-per-view will take place at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois on June 17th.

Men’s ladder match —

Women’s ladder match —

Four more wrestlers join WWE SmackDown

More wrestlers are heading to SmackDown via the Superstar Shakeup.

Samoa Joe made his presence felt immediately on SmackDown, destroying Sin Cara and choking him out with the coquina clutch. He cut a promo after the match, running down the top stars of SmackDown and also reassured Roman Reigns that he was coming after him at Backlash.

It was also announced tonight that Absolution, the team of Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, will be going to Smackdown. They will be joining Paige, who retired last week on Raw and became General Manager the following night on SmackDown, replacing Daniel Bryan.

Rose and Deville made their debut on the main roster last November alongside a returning Paige, who made her return following neck surgery. The trio worked together until late 2017, when Paige was injured again. She had been managing Rose and Deville until the split.

Big Cass also made his return, confronting Daniel Bryan and dismissing him over his size. He had been out with a torn ACL since last August.

Jeff Hardy and The Miz have also been announced as the latest stars joining the blue brand.

Six-woman tag match announced for WWE Raw

All six participants in the upcoming women’s Elimination Chamber match will square off on Raw tomorrow.

WWE revealed today that the team of Mickie James, Sasha Banks & Bayley will square off against Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss, Sonya Deville & Mandy Rose in a six-woman tag team match. The recent storyline heading into the women’s Elimination Chamber has been that Bliss is trying to forge a relationship with James, though what her motives are remains unclear.

Also set for Monday is a gauntlet match featuring all seven participants in the men’s Elimination Chamber. The show will also likely set up the rest of the card for next Sunday’s pay-per-view. Aside from the two Elimination Chambers, the only other match announced is Asuka vs. Nia Jax. Ronda Rousey will be at the PPV for a contract signing, as she’ll be a part of the Raw brand moving forward.

Monday’s Raw will be at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona.

Women’s Elimination Chamber lineup set, Asuka to face Nia Jax

Alexa Bliss’ Elimination Chamber challengers were confirmed on Raw tonight, plus another match was made official for the pay-per-view.

Kurt Angle announced that Sasha Banks, Bayley, Mickie James, Mandy Rose, and Sonya Deville would be challenging for Bliss’ Raw Women’s Championship in the Elimination Chamber. He noted that Nia Jax wasn’t included in that list, then revealed that Jax would be facing Asuka at the PPV.

If Jax wins, she’ll be added to the Raw Women’s title match at WrestleMania. Asuka hasn’t indicated whether she’ll be challenging the Raw or SmackDown Women’s Champion in New Orleans, with the storyline being that she can choose which one she’ll be facing.

During Angle’s announcement, Bliss accused him of being sexist for making her defend her title at the PPV when Brock Lesnar doesn’t have to. Angle responded by pointing out that Bliss hasn’t had a title defense since October and asked the audience if they wanted to see the women’s Chamber match.

Braun Strowman, Elias, John Cena, Roman Reigns, and The Miz have qualified for the men’s Elimination Chamber, with one more spot remaining. That match will decide who challenges Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania.

Elimination Chamber 2018 will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on February 25th. Those three matches are all that’s been announced so far.
