Shane McMahon, Dana White attended White House Correspondents dinner

Shane McMahon and Dana White were among those in attendance at the White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday night.

The event was halted after gunshots were fired near the main security screening at the Washington Hilton in D.C., where the dinner was taking place. President Donald Trump and members of his cabinet were quickly evacuated by Secret Service agents.

Andrew Solender of Axios captured Linda McMahon, the current Secretary of Education, being evacuated along with Shane. White attended the dinner and recalled what he experienced to USA Today.

“Inside, the whole event just started getting noisy, tables getting flipped over, guys running in with guns and they were screaming `Get down. I didn’t get down. It was f****** awesome. I literally took every minute of it in, it was a pretty crazy, unique experience. We were sitting right in front of the table, right in front of where the president was. Nobody got tackled but a guy came in looking for shooters and then came toward the table. I thought the shooter was by us or something.”

A suspect, Cole Thomas Allen, was taken into custody immediately after the incident unfolded.

Paige says Shane McMahon helped her ignite a ‘new fire’ after in-ring retirement

Months after her in-ring retirement, Shane McMahon announced Paige’s WWE SmackDown return as the brand’s general manager in 2018.

After a few years in WWE, Paige parted ways with the promotion and joined AEW. Earlier this year at WrestleMania 42, she made her long-awaited return. Speaking to Stephanie McMahon on What’s Your Story? podcast, Paige revealed how Shane McMahon helped her ignite the ‘new fire’ in her.

I got pulled to the side, and they were like, ‘Ok, we need you for SmackDown.’ I was like, Why? I don’t wrestle anymore.’ When I came back the next day, it was like Road Dogg and the writers all cornered me; they were like, ‘Ok, you’re gonna be GM.’ I was like, ‘Oh my god, this is great,'” she said.

“Your brother (Shane McMahon) was the one who introduced me, the crowd erupted, and it kind of gave me a new fire. It got me really excited to come to work because it was something completely new. I wasn’t in the division anymore, so I didn’t have to worry about is my time was going to be cut, the matches. I just had to worry about the five or six promos I had to do live that day, which is intimidating.”

Now undergone neck surgery and cleared for in-ring action, Paige is officially back as a WWE competitor and is already the new women’s tag-team champion.

Tony Khan says Shane McMahon was not interested ‘being an on-screen person’ in AEW

Tony Khan has opened up about his past meeting with Shane McMahon and his thoughts about a potential on-screen role in AEW.

Recently speaking to Jonathan Coachman and Vince Russo, AEW President Tony Khan opened up in detail about his meeting with Shane McMahon from a few years ago. Reflecting on their conversation, Khan revealed that McMahon had no interest in becoming an on-screen character in AEW.

I had one really pleasant conversation with Shane [McMahon]. Shane reached out to me and said I’d love to get together. Where are you gonna be? I was going to be in Dallas, we were doing a bunch of shows around Arlington, Texas, and I said to Shane, ‘That’s where I’m gonna be, I can meet you here,’ and we had a nice conversation, and talked for a few hours at the airport.

“I thought it was really strange that a photo came out from it. I thought it was pretty unusual; it could just be someone who worked at the airport, but I had nothing to do with it,” Khan said. “It’s very unusual, I talk to people all the time, from all different media places, Shane’s a very recognisable face in Sports and the world of wrestling, where any wrestling fan would recognise him.

So that could be what it is, someone recognised we were in a room and wanted to take a photo, I’m in a lot of rooms with a lot of people, I’ve only had that happen one time, so I thought that was unusual. You can see in the photo I’m very surprised, and I noticed he wasn’t as surprised as I was,” he further continued.

Reflecting on their conversation, Khan shared, “I’ve only had the one really nice talk with him. I thought that was interesting. I also thought it was impressive how, in one conversation, somehow it got out that I talked to him, but it was a very pleasant chat, and he seems like a really interesting guy. I don’t think the role of being an on-screen person in a wrestling show seemed like the thing he was interested in, but he had a lot of interesting experiences that are different than mine, but I don’t think he went into it thinking I want to be a character on this guy’s show”

Back in 2024, WrestleTalk and Fightful reported that AEW President Tony Khan had a meeting with Shane McMahon. Shortly after, they also released a photo of their meeting, which led to heavy speculation around McMahon possibly joining AEW.

Shane McMahon congratulates wife Marissa on Oscar nomination

Shane McMahon couldn’t be more proud of his wife Marissa for achieving a lifelong dream.

Last week, Marissa McMahon earned her first-ever Oscar nomination for “Train Dreams” — a film that she served as a producer of. The movie received four nominations in total, including one for Best Picture. When a movie is nominated in that category, producers of the film are listed as the nominees. Marissa McMahon, Teddy Schwarzman, Will Janowitz, Ashley Schlaifer, and Michael Heimler are the nominees for “Train Dreams.”

“Congratulations Marissa Mac on a dream come true. You are in rare air with your movie Train Dreams receiving 4 Academy Award Nominations. This movie would not have been made without you,” Shane wrote on Instagram last night. “You are an inspiration to me and our three sons. Declan, Kenyon Rogan and I could not be happier for or more proud of you. So well deserved Let’s Go!”

Shane and Marissa (Marissa Mazzola) have been married since 1996 with three children that were born in 2004, 2006, and 2010. Marissa is the founder of production company Kamala Films, which produced “Train Dreams” alongside Black Bear productions.

“The 12 year old girl who dreamed this dream is humbled and grateful for this nomination,” Marissa reacted when the nominees were announced. “My heart is so full. Thank you @theacademy for this incredible honor.”

“Train Dreams” stars Joel Edgerton and was released on Netflix in November 2025. Here is the official synopsis:

Based on Denis Johnson’s beloved novella, Train Dreams is the moving portrait of Robert Grainier, a logger and railroad worker who leads a life of unexpected depth and beauty in the rapidly-changing America of the early 20th Century.

The 2026 Academy Awards ceremony is taking place on Sunday, March 15 and will be broadcast on ABC.

Shane McMahon attends John Cena’s final WWE Raw appearance at MSG

John Cena’s farewell tour is bringing all the big names out of the woodwork. The latest star from the past to show up: Shane McMahon.

McMahon—whose father, grandfather, and great-grandfather laid the groundwork for the promotion now known as WWE—was not part of the show when Monday Night Raw aired from Manhattan, but he did take to social media to make his presence known, sharing a photo of himself with his son Rogan at the event on Instagram.

“So good to be back home [at Madison Square Garden] to watch [John Cena’s] final show at The Garden,” he wrote.

McMahon, a former executive and wrestler for the company, was reportedly seated near his sister Stephanie, but was not shown on camera.

Per Cagematch, McMahon has wrestled once in Madison Square Garden himself, facing Chad Gable in a best-of-three-falls King of the Ring semifinal in 2019

McMahon’s last appearance with WWE was at WrestleMania 39 in 2023. He made a surprise appearance on that show and challenged The Miz to a match, but promptly tore his quad. Snoop Dogg took his place in the match and came away with the victory.

Shane McMahon honors Hulk Hogan: ‘Hulk’s legacy is truly immortal’

Shane McMahon has paid tribute to Hulk Hogan.

McMahon on Friday quote tweeted his father Vince McMahon’s statement on X and responded with a message of his own, thanking Hogan for everything he did not only for WWE, but also for the McMahon family.

“My dad could not have been more eloquent about what he wrote about the Hulkster. What a deep loss for us all. Hulk’s legacy is truly immortal. Thank you Terry for everything that you did for both the McMahon and WWE family. We will all miss you. God speed Brother,” he wrote.

Vince released a rare statement on Thursday shortly after Hogan’s death, saying that the world “lost a treasure today” and called the six-time WWE Champion and Hall of Famer “the greatest WWE Superstar of ALL TIME.”

On SmackDown, WWE paid tribute to Hogan with a ten bell salute. There was also a video narrated by Triple H that covered Hogan’s extensive career from his beginnings in the territories in the 1970s through his most recent appearances, including his final on the Raw Netflix premiere this past January.

Shane McMahon: Vince McMahon ‘enjoying life,’ no plans to start wrestling company

Shane McMahon says Vince McMahon is “enjoying life”

He spoke with TMZ recently and was asked about the rumor that he and his father might start a new wrestling company.

“You never know what’s going to happen out there. Of course, anything can happen in WWE, but those rumors are false,” Shane said.

He was also asked about the meeting he had with AEW President Tony Khan last summer. While he wished Khan continued success, Shane says AEW isn’t the company he helped build.

“Had a meeting with AEW and wish them continued success, or whatever. But it’s not WWE. It’s not the company I helped build. But you never know what’s going to happen in this business.”

When asked about speculation that Vince McMahon could buy back WWE, Shane replied:

“Well, he owns a big part of TKO still. So you never know what’s going to happen there either. I’m not trying to be vague, I’m just saying anything can happen.”

Vince McMahon currently owns an estimated 3.25 percent of TKO Group Holdings. According to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, McMahon holds 6,442,325 shares following the recent sale of 250 million dollars worth of stock to Endeavor. With TKO stock currently trading at 165.94 dollars per share, McMahon would need almost 16 billion dollars to acquire 51 percent of the company. His net worth is listed at approximately 3.2 billion dollars by Forbes.

Asked how his father is doing these days, Shane responded:

“He’s been doing really well. He’s enjoying life. Getting a little bit of a rest in there, but you know my dad, he’s always gung ho and he’s always doing the next thing and that’s what he’s focused on.”

As revealed late last month, Vince McMahon’s new business venture is a company called 14TH & I, expected to focus on investments in sports, media, and entertainment.

Further details emerge on Tony Khan/Shane McMahon meeting about AEW

The Shane McMahon/Tony Khan/AEW story came back to life Thursday following some comments made from a former WWE broadcaster on a podcast.

Jonathan Coachman claimed on his The Coach & Bro podcast that during the much-discussed meeting McMahon and Khan had last summer, McMahon asked for both equity in AEW and to “run the entire show.” He also said Khan never followed up or communicated with McMahon after the meeting, using the term “ghosted.”

Fightful Select then reported that according to sources close to McMahon, Khan indeed failed to follow up and while the equity claim couldn’t be verified, the claim of wanting to run AEW appeared to be accurate. However, he didn’t have the knowledge of AEW or their business to realistically be able to do so.

The source indicated McMahon didn’t take the lack of follow-up personally and felt that Khan thought he was joking when bringing up running AEW. That same source said McMahon saw “his insight and abilities to run a show as valuable after witnessing years of fans and people in the industry wanting anyone but Vince (McMahon) in that role.”

The two met in a private room in an Arlington, Texas, airport which led to a photo getting out. McMahon released a statement to Bully Ray, saying they had a “great meeting” that focused on their love of wrestling and “rewards and challenges” of working with family. Khan echoed similar sentiments and the news prompted Bryan Danielson, Jim Ross and Mercedes Mone to comment about the possibility with the Young Bucks even posting a picture with McMahon following their own chance airport meeting.

At this point, McMahon and AEW appears to be a dead deal if it ever was a live one to begin with.

Stephanie & Shane McMahon, Triple H attend Linda McMahon confirmation hearing

Linda McMahon had the support of her children and their spouses on Thursday as she faced questions from senators in her bid to become the United States’ next Secretary of Education.

Stephanie McMahon, Shane McMahon, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, and Shane’s wife Marissa McMahon sat behind Linda during her confirmation hearing in Washington, D.C. today. She appeared in front of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, which will decide next week whether Linda’s nomination to lead the Department of Education will be advanced to a full senate vote. With Republicans holding a majority, it is likely that Linda will be confirmed.

The lawsuit that Linda McMahon, Vince McMahon, and WWE are facing relating to the 1980s-1990s ring boy scandal came up once during today’s hearing, with Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin asking if Linda can be trusted to support sexual assault survivors on college campuses.

“They certainly can trust me to support them,” Linda responded. “I have a granddaughter that is now in college. I have two grandsons who are in college. And I have a deep commitment of understanding of how I would feel if any of them were involved in sexual harassment or accused of sexual harassment. You have my absolute commitment that I will uphold and protect those investigations to make sure that those students are treated fairly on both sides.”

If she is confirmed, this will be Linda’s second time serving as a cabinet member for Donald Trump. She was the administrator of the Small Business Administration during his first presidency.

Though Trump has nominated Linda for this position, he is hoping to abolish the Department of Education and have schools be run by the states. Trump said earlier this month that he’s told Linda, “I hope you do a great job and put yourself out of a job.”

It would require congressional approval for the Department of Education to be totally abolished.
