WWE 205 Live results: Javier Bernal debuts

Lash Legend defeated Fallon Henley

This was not good.

This match opened with Henley gaining standing wrist control. Legend eventually escaped by using her other hand to break free, and from here on, the pair went back and forth trading moves. Legend established control with a chinlock. After a short attempt at a rally from Henley, Legend caught Henley in a hold (think torture rack meets abdominal stretch), leading to the submission victory.

Draco Anthony defeated Javier Bernal

This wasn’t poorly executed, but it bored me to tears.

Bernal started his WWE debut by securing a headlock. Bernal worked the headlock from corner to corner before taking the match down to the mat. Anthony escaped by converting the headlock into a backdrop.

Anthony began landing with heavy strikes before locking in a half nelson chin lock. Bernal fought out of the hold, but his rally was cut short after Anthony connected with a leg lariat, scoring the win.

James Drake defeated Bodhi Hayward

Before the match, Andre Chase cut a promo. He bragged about his new student Bodhi before the Grizzled Young Veterans interrupted him. Zack Gibson cut a counter promo, making clear his confidence heading into the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

This match wasn’t great by any means, but compared to the first two matches on the card, it felt like a shot of adrenaline.

Drake started the match with a headlock. Things picked up, however, after Bodhi escaped and launched an offensive sequence. Bodhi tried for a German suplex, but Drake blocked it, opening up Bodhi to some targeted strikes. Drake took the match to the mat once more with another headlock.

Bodhi fought free from the hold before connecting with multiple low tackles. He sent Drake to the outside, which led to a scuffle with Gibson. Once Bodhi was back in the ring, Gibson grabbed his foot. The distraction allowed Drake to land a nice dropkick into the corner, leading to the pinfall.

Debut announced for this week’s WWE 205 Live

This week’s 205 Live will include the debut of a recent WWE signee.

WWE has announced that Javier Bernal vs. Draco Anthony will air on 205 Live this Friday night. Bernal, whose real name is Randy Jose Beidelschies, is making his debut in the match.

Bernal signed with WWE after taking part in last August’s tryouts in Las Vegas. He went to Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota and was a member of their football team.

In his Instagram bio, Bernal refers to himself as the “First Colombian-American WWE Rockstar.”

Anthony was also signed by WWE after participating in the Las Vegas tryouts. He has wrestled on 205 Live since debuting on the show in November. A video spotlighting Anthony aired on NXT later that month but hasn’t been followed up on.

205 Live airs on Peacock/WWE Network at 10 p.m. Eastern time on Fridays. This week’s show will also feature Bodhi Hayward vs. James Drake and Lash Legend vs. Fallon Henley.

Hayward & Andre Chase are facing The Grizzled Young Veterans (Drake & Zack Gibson) in the first round of the 2022 men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic on NXT next Tuesday.

This is the third match of Legend’s career and the first time she’s wrestled since facing Sarray on 205 Live last month.

WWE 205 Live results: Ivy Nile vs. Valentina Feroz

In a rare sight, 205 Live opened with a promo. Andre Chase started the show by announcing the man Von Wagner tried to kill, Bohdi Hayword, would be awarded a full ride through Chase University.

Bohdi Hayword defeated Guru Raaj

Hayword used his size advantage to lead the match for some time. Raaj had some success using selective striking, but Hayword continually overwhelmed Raaj. A chop block from Hayword led to a roll-up; Hayward pinned Raaj to close his debut match.

This entire opening segment felt like a blast from the past. If you told me this was on an episode of 2014 NXT TV, I’d believe you.

Ivy Nile defeated Valentina Feroz

I liked this match a lot. It was unique structurally and was compelling. Good stuff.

The match opened with throw based wrestling in which Feroz found great success. Eventually, Nile connected with a suplex and a jumping kick to turn the match on its head.

Nile worked head scissors for an extended period before attempting a suplex. Feroz reversed a sleeper attempt, turning it into an inside cradle. After Nile kicked out, Feroz tried for a bridging pin; Nile stood up, turning the pin attempt into a dragon sleeper. Feroz tapped out almost immediately.

The show concluded with a replay of a Bron Breaker hype package and promo.

WWE 205 Live results: Ikemen Jiro vs. Ru Feng

Malik Blade defeated Draco Anthony

This was not great.

Anthony was arrogant in the opening in his chain wrestling, an attitude that nearly came back to bite him as Blade gained an early advantage. Anthony managed to catch and slam Blade to turn things around after Blade’s first offensive stint.

Anthony connected with power moves before attempting a Boston crab in the center of the ring. Blade escaped the Boston crab, landing a jumping leg lariat after a moment of separation. Anthony tried to resist as things picked up for Blade, but a springboard dropkick proved to be too much and Blade picked up the win.

Nikkita Lyons defeated Eric Yan

For some reason, this match was significantly based in ground work. That was bad and the standup work was much better.

An early tie-up led things to the mat. Yan took her time, but really didn’t do anything offensively yet maintained control. Eventually, Lyons took ground control from Yan, leading to an awkward sequence that lasted nearly the duration of the match. When things weren’t on the mat, Lyons was landing some less than stellar strikes.

Thankfully, this came to an end after Lyons landed a DDT for the pin and win.

Ikemen Jiro defeated Ru Feng

While nothing special in the big picture, this was great compared to the rest of the card.

Jiro started by gaining arm control. As Feng attempted to get something going, Jiro maintained a hold on Feng’s arm. Finally, Feng pulled Jiro’s leg out from the top rope, sending him crashing to the mat. Feng took this opportunity to take things to the mat, working an extended chinlock.

Jiro eventually escaped the chinlock, landing a dragon screw leg whip to open things up. He connected with multiple Jacket Punches, an Asai moonsault, and the Ikemen slash to close out the match and pick up the win.

WWE 205 Live results: Nikkita Lyons debuts

Edris Enofé defeated Guru Raaj

I’m running out of ways to say forgettable, especially in reference to 205 Live. This match was not bad, but painfully average.

Enofé started the match by taking Raaj to the mat. As things picked up, Raaj had some brief moments of offence, he landed a monkey flip and senton, but generally, Enofé was in control. A fisherman buster, spinebuster, and shooting star press led to the end of the bout in favour of Enofé.

Amari Miller defeated Nikkita Lyons

Everything in this match, every solitary moment, was gauche. Lyons is painfully green, as is Miller, so I guess this should be expected somewhat. But, with that being said, there were some interesting moments in this match. For example, the ragdoll choke was compelling; it just was done poorly.

A pre-taped Lyons promo aired before her debut. Not much was said, just a general, ‘I’m here, watch out’ type of thing.

Lyons started the match with an awkward grappling exchange. After Miller slipped free, the pair squared up in an even more awkward striking segment. Lyons pulled Miller’s feet, slamming Miller’s head into the bottom rope before locking in a choke.

Miller dropped Lyons after escaping the choke by pulling on her shoulders. Miller took advantage, landing a suplex and a knee strike that ended the match.

Dante Chen defeated Draco Anthony

This was another totally inoffensive, inconsequential match that the world will forget if they remember it to begin with.

Before his match, a pre-taped Chen promo played. He mentioned he was the first Singaporean in the WWE.

The match opened with meaningless chain wrestling before a forearm from Anthony initiated an offensive sequence in his favour. During this segment, Chen resisted but couldn’t actualise any real shifts in control.

Finally, Chen started to pick things up after landing a lariat. A pump kick, a slap across the chest, and a sitout butterfly cradle drop all in quick succession allowed Chen to pin Anthony to close the match.

Final Thoughts:

With another year of 205 Live in the books, I thought I’d reflect on the show. If one word describes 205 Live in 2021, it’s “forgettable”. Even after watching 50 episodes of the show this year, I can count on one hand the number of matches that left any kind of impression on me. In fact, 205 Live’s most notable moments were not during its airtime but after its roster was fired. Twice.

I’m honestly shocked that this show survived this year.

Nikkita Lyons to make WWE debut on 205 Live

This week’s 205 Live will feature the debut of a recent Performance Center signee.

Nikkita Lyons (real name Faith Jefferies) will have her first match for WWE on 205 Live this Friday night, facing Amari Miller. Lyons signed with WWE after taking part in this August’s tryouts in Las Vegas. She’s a Las Vegas native and is 22 years old.

Lyons formerly wrestled for WOW (Women of Wrestling) using the name “Faith the Lioness.” WWE filed a trademark for her new in-ring name earlier this month.

“Eagerly participating in singles matches as well as the tag team ranks, Miller has experienced her ups and downs since joining the revamped 205 Live, and she’ll now seek a crucial win against Lyons,” WWE.com wrote. “Primed for her WWE debut, Lyons is undoubtedly hungry for an immediate statement win.”

205 Live airs on Peacock/WWE Network at 10 p.m. Eastern time on Fridays. Draco Anthony vs. Dante Chen and Edris Enofe vs. Guru Raaj will also air on this week’s episode.

WWE 205 Live results: Bobby Steveson debuts

Ivy Nile defeated Fallon Henley

This was fine.

Henley started the match gaining quick momentum but was caught by Nile before any significant offence started. Nile used her power advantage to dominate the rest of the match. Nile locked in a dragon sleeper, resulting in the submission victory.

Andre Chase defeated Damon Kemp

Kemp is Bobby Steveson, the brother of Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson. He also has a background in college wrestling, competing at the University of Minnesota prior to WWE.

I quite liked this. Kemp’s offence looked good, and the work was clever for the match’s limited time. Good stuff.

Kemp’s early lead came to an end after Chase isolated his fingers. Chase worked Kent on the mat for some time. Kemp finally fought to a standing position from where he landed powerful lariats and suplexes. Chase managed to block a suplex, pulling down one of Kemp’s knee pads in the process. Chase landed a flatliner and pinned Kemp after the short distraction.

Solo Sikoa defeated Ru Feng

It feels like both of these guys were made to look strong, but that seems difficult given the match’s short run time. Solo looked good tonight, but again, this match was too short to make any absolute judgments about quality.

Feng and Solo went back and forth in the opening moments. Feng took the match to the ground twice, both times, Solo fought to his feet, landing some moves in the process. After the second short ground segment, Solo landed three quick sentons, a spinning back elbow, and a top rope splash that ended the match.

Bobby Steveson’s in-ring debut set for WWE 205 Live

Bobby Steveson’s in-ring debut is part of the lineup for this week’s Christmas Eve episode of 205 Live.

Steveson, who is going by the name Damon Kemp in WWE, will face Andre Chase on 205 Live this Friday night. Steveson joined the WWE Performance Center this August. He announced his new in-ring name last month.

Bobby is the brother of Olympic gold medalist wrestler and WWE signee Gable Steveson. Bobby formerly was an amateur wrestler at the University of Minnesota, where Gable is currently completing his senior season. It was announced in September that Gable had signed an NIL (name, image, and likeness) deal with WWE. Gable will join WWE on a full-time basis when he finishes college.

In October, Gable was drafted to Raw in the WWE Draft.

WWE wrote about Bobby when he signed with the company:

Minneapolis’ Bobby Steveson, the brother of 2020 Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson, stands 6-feet tall and weighs 220 pounds. He wrestled at the University of Minnesota, the same alma mater as his brother, former World Champion Brock Lesnar and Raw Superstar Shelton Benjamin.

Solo Sikoa vs. Ru Feng and Ivy Nile vs. Fallon Henley will also air on 205 Live this Friday night. Fallon Henley is Tesha Price’s new WWE name. Price was formerly a regular on AEW Dark and had done enhancement talent work for WWE. She teamed with Erica Yan in a loss to Valentina Feroz & Yulisa Leon on 205 Live last week.

205 Live airs on Peacock/WWE Network at 10 p.m. Eastern time on Fridays.

WWE 205 Live results: Sarray vs. Lash Legend

Sarray defeated Lash Legend

Sarray made her in-ring return after a month-long hiatus against the very new Lash Legend. Sadly, the match wasn’t good, and the closing angle was just strange.

Sarray offered Legend a handshake to open, but Legend slapped away her offering. Legend then succeeded in using her power to take control and maintain it for some time. Sarray eventually had a short rally that Legend ended with a rollup attempt, and Sarray took advantage, reversing the pin into one of her own; Legend failed to kick out.

After the match, Legend hit Sarray with a boot and a facebuster variation.

Legend then cut a promo, claiming she used to like Sarray and that she was cute. Legend’s appraisal of Sarray changed, however, when Sarray dared to pin her.

Yulisa Leon and Valentina Feroz defeated Erica Yan and Fallon Henley

This match was as formulaic as possible, and as a result, it was utterly forgettable.

This match opened with some grappling. Feroz, who started the match, stayed in as her opponents traded tags. Eventually, this left Yan and Henley with control. Henley forced Feroz to fight out of an extended ground control segment, leading to the hot tag.

Leon hit the ring, delivering multiple suplexes before tagging Feroz back into the match. Leon lifted Feroz, allowing her to hit Yan with a crossbody that led directly to the pinfall.

Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde defeated Malik Blade and Ru Feng (Legado Del Fantasma)

Wilde and Mendoza made their return to 205 Live, following more than a year of absence.

This was very similar structurally to the previous match. The work in-ring was better than the match before it, but was still not worth seeking out.

Blade and Feng gained a quick lead that Feng maintained even as Wilde and Mendoza tagged in and out; this lasted until Mendoza slipped free from Feng’s shoulders. After escaping, Mendoza and Wilde traded many a quick tag to take over the match. It wasn’t long before LDF had Feng desperate for a tag.

Feng finally escaped from a prolonged submission, leading to the hot tag. Blade ran the gauntlet, taking out both of his opponents. Blade’s offence was short-lived, though, as he ran into Feng on the apron, causing enough of a pause for LDF to catch Blade with a tandem kick. Blade was then pinned.

Three matches set for WWE 205 Live, Sarray returning to action

Three matches have been announced for this week’s episode of 205 Live.

Legado del Fantasma’s Raul Mendoza & Joaquin Wilde will be in action as they face Malik Blade & Ru Feng on 205 Live this Friday night. Sarray vs. Lash Legend is also set for the show, along with a tag team match with Valentina Feroz & Yulisa Leon facing Erica Yan & Fallon Henley.

Sarray is returning to the ring for the first time since losing to Kay Lee Ray on the November 9 episode of NXT. She tweeted on November 13 that she was back in Japan but would be returning soon. This Sunday, Sarray announced that she was coming back to the United States following the month-long trip to her home country.

Legend made her in-ring debut on 205 Live last week, defeating Amari Miller.

Fallon Henley is Tesha Price’s new WWE in-ring name. She was formerly a regular on AEW Dark and has made appearances as an enhancement talent for WWE. Price recently changed the name of her social media accounts to “FallonHenleyWWE.”

205 Live airs on Peacock/WWE Network at 10 p.m. Eastern time on Fridays.

WWE 205 Live results: Lash Legend debuts

Image: WWE

Lash Legend defeated Amari Miller

Lash Legend was dominant in her debut. Legend (real name Anriel Howard) is a former basketball player who played for Mississippi State and Texas A&M in college and was drafted by the WNBA’s Seattle Storm. She’s hosted her “Lashing Out With Legend” talk show on NXT but had her first match here.

I think this was the tenth 75/25 squash this month on 205 Live.

Legend opened the match with dominance, hitting Miller with uncontested moves before trying for mocking pinfalls. Even in dire straits, Miller taunted Legend. Miller finally sidestepped Legend late in the match and connected with an offensive… thing. Legend didn’t let this last, however, as she grabbed Miller, slamming her into the ropes before dropping her.

Andre Chase defeated Guru Raaj

I don’t think I’ll ever rewatch this one. Not that it was insufferable, I just doubt I’ll remember it happened this time next week.

Andre Chase now has a “student of the week,” and he has a flag.

Guru Raaj and Chase proved to be on equal footing early in the match. Just as Raaj was gaining some leverage, Chase grabbed the hair of Raaj to drop him. Chase followed up by leading a “CHASE U” chant.

Raaj ducked a lariat to open Chase up for significant striking, and a bulldog left Raaj with a near fall.

Chase ducked a kick to work his way back into control. He then connected with a giant boot and hammerlock DDT to close the match.

Solo Sikoa defeated Malik Blade

This was a tedious watch. There was nothing substantive in this one to sink your teeth into.

Malik Blade took Solo Sikoa to the mat, working the arm, following the opening bell. Sikoa eventually overpowered Blade, only for Blade to gain a headlock moments later. Thankfully, Sikoa hit a shoulder tackle to begin his first offense. Sikoa then took Blade to the mat.

Late in the match, Blade started a rally with a series of dropkicks and a superkick. A dropkick from the top left Blade with a near fall. Blade climbed to the top again, but he was caught by a Sikoa kick this time. Sikoa then hit Blade with a spinning thumb strike to close the match.

Lash Legend to make in-ring debut on WWE 205 Live

This week’s edition of 205 Live will feature the in-ring debut of Lash Legend.

WWE has announced that Legend will have the first match of her career on 205 Live this Friday night. She’s facing Amari Miller on the show.

Legend (real name Anriel Howard) signed with WWE as part of the class of recruits that reported to the Performance Center in December 2020. An accomplished basketball player, she played for Mississippi State and Texas A&M in college and was drafted by the Seattle Storm in the second round of the 2019 WNBA Draft.

Legend debuted on NXT following September’s NXT 2.0 rebrand. She’s hosted her “Lashing Out with Lash Legend” talk show on NXT.

Miller defeated Erica Yan on 205 Live two weeks ago.

Solo Sikoa vs. Mailk Blade and Andre Chase vs. Guru Raaj are also set for this week’s 205 Live. The show airs on Peacock/WWE Network at 10 p.m. Eastern time on Fridays.

WWE 205 Live results: Solo Sikoa vs. Andre Chase

Elektra Lopez defeated Valentina Feroz

Lopez was dominant in her 205 Live debut.

Feroz tried and failed in taking the match to the mat following the opening bell. Lopez used her strength to lock out Feroz in effect, even as Feroz tried working the arm.

Late in the match, Feroz started a rally that saw her connect with ineffective offence. After withstanding the flurry, Lopez landed a sit-down powerbomb to close the match.

Amari Miller defeated Erica Yan

This match was nothing special, but also not actively bad.

Miller and Yan traded headlocks in the opening stretch, favouring Yan. Miller caught Yan on the ring’s skirt. Miller took the match to the mat where she worked the upper body with holds and strikes.

On the mat, Yan outmanoeuvred Miller and regained control leading to a sequence of suplexes. After the suplexes failed to end the match, Yan tried for a slam that Miller stalled out of. Miller capitalised on the pause, connecting with a boot followed by a knee to close the match.

Solo Sikoa defeated Andre Chase

While this match was nothing extraordinary in the ring, what does stand out is the crowd’s reaction to Sikoa. This might be the most energetic reaction I’ve seen since starting my 205 Live coverage nearly two years ago. People seem to like this guy.

The match opened with battling chants, mainly due to the student section that fills a corner of the CWC. Regardless, Sikoa gained a quick advantage. With solid strikes and a suplex over the ropes, Sikoa was entirely dominant.

Chase slid out of a Samoan drop, allowing Chase to land a swinging neck breaker and Thesz press. Chase then spelt out the name of his university, Chase U, in a cheerleader-esque sequence. Chase followed his routine with an extended choke on the mat.

Once Sikoa overpowered Chase on the mat, he landed a big kick, re-establishing his control as if it had never lapsed. Chase fled to the outside, successfully stunning Sikoa against the top rope. A top rope DDT followed, leaving Chase with a near fall. Chase tried to follow up only to be caught in a Samoan drop followed by a dive. Sikoa then pinned Chase to close his 205 Live debut.

WWE 205 Live results: Two in-ring debuts

Edris Enofe defeated Malik Blade

This match consisted of basic groundwork and some arm drags. It was fine.

The debuting Enofe traded quick pin attempts early in the match. Likewise, the pair traded mat control as the opening sequence took form. Blade connected with a top rope dropkick before attempting a splash that Enofe evaded. Enofe capitalised, connecting with a spinebuster and standing moonsault for the win.

Tiffany Stratton defeated Amari Miller

Stratton, before making her debut, cut a 2001 popular girl promo in the ring—my dad is rich, I’m hot, etc. The match was not great.

Miller gained ground control as the match began. After Stratton reversed the momentum in her favour, she connected with underhanded offence—working the fingers, stomping the feet, etc. Stratton tried to roll up Miller, but something caused an awkward fumble. Miller tried pinning Stratton herself, but Stratton escaped. Stratton transitioned into another pin that resulted in a debut victory.

Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter defeated Valentina Feroz & Yulisa Leon

A video presentation before the match revealed Catanzaro and Carter like to attend music festivals. Neat.

Even though this match formula is threadbare, what was delivered was quite enjoyable.

Leon and Carter opened the match. The pair went back and forth, both in moves and dance, before Catanzaro and Feroz tagged in. Catanzaro gained control before Carter re-entered the ring.

Feroz caught Carter in the ropes with an armbar, resulting in her team’s first stint of control; this continued as Leon and Feroz traded tags. Feroz and Leon took turns working Carter’s arm and throwing her across the ring.

Carter eventually fought through, resulting in a hot tag. Catanzaro regained control, and with aid from Carter, hit Leon with a flipping dive. Carter pinned Leon to close the match.

Two debuts set for Friday’s WWE 205 Live

This week’s episode of 205 Live will feature a pair of debuts.

Tiffany Stratton will make her WWE debut as she faces Amari Miller on 205 Live this Friday night. Stratton, whose real name is Jessica Woynilko, signed with WWE as part of the group of recruits that reported to the Performance Center this August. She’s a gymnast, bodybuilder, and CrossFit athlete.

WWE wrote that Stratton “is already calling herself ‘Daddy’s Little Rich Girl’ and is reportedly planning on addressing the WWE Universe right before her bout with Miller.”

Edris Enofe (Inyene Umoh) will also debut on Friday’s 205 Live. He’s facing Malik Blade on the show.

Enofe, who is a United States Navy veteran, was trained at the Level Up pro wrestling school. He signed with WWE after taking part in the company’s tryouts in Las Vegas this August.

WWE noted that Enofe is “clearly not lacking in confidence, as he has made pre-match claims of being ‘far from a rookie’ and seems ready for all comers.”

Kayden Carter & Kacy Catanzaro vs. Valentina Feroz & Yulisa Leon is also set for this Friday’s 205 Live. The show airs on Peacock/WWE Network at 10 p.m. Eastern time.
