Chris Jericho appearance, injured wrestler’s return part of AEW Dynamite lineup

A week after making his surprise return to the promotion, Chris Jericho will address his return as part of next week’s AEW Dynamite — the go-home for next Sunday’s Dynasty.

Referred to as simply Jericho during the promo read on Thursday’s Collision, he will appear live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, after he said just three words this past Wednesday in Winnipeg.

Queen Aminata will make her return from injury after missing five months with a tall task in front of her: a challenge of reigning TBS Champion Willow Nightingale.

Ahead of his challenge of AEW World Champion MJF at Dynasty, Kenny Omega will be on the show for the final time before the match.

After a union was made Thursday backstage, Darby Allin, Jack Perry and Brody King will take on Andrade, Konosuke Takeshita and Mark Davis of the Don Callis Family.

Both AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley and Dynasty title challenger Will Ospreay will also be in attendance.

Queen Aminata shares AEW return timeline

AEW wrestler Queen Aminata has opened up and shared her return timeline amid her ongoing absence.

In the latest edition of her vlog, Aminata reflected on her AEW television absence due to injury before updating fans with the “good” news of her return.

I was supposed to fly on Tuesday to go to TV in LA to get my neck checked because I did my MRI, and everything is looking good, not great, good. I hope to be back pretty soon. Doc changed my schedule, and I won’t be back at TV until the 25th in Denver. Hopefully, everything looks good so I can get back in the ring and start rolling around, taking that first bump, which is very scary.”

She was last seen competing in the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Title Tournament Quarter Final against The Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart & Skye Blue) while teaming up with Jamie Hayter in October, 2025.

Shortly after, she was also pulled from the women’s Blood & Guts match following issues of neck tightness, which prevented her from getting cleared for in-ring action.

While Aminata’s in-ring return date remains unconfirmed, she expects to be back on AEW television by the Dynamite/Collision show on February 25th in Denver, Colorado.

Queen Aminata shares injury update

Queen Aminata shared an update on her injury status in a video posted to YouTube on Wednesday.

Aminata has been out of action since her last match on October 29, 2025. She had been scheduled for the first-ever Women’s Blood & Guts match on November 12 but was ultimately pulled from the bout due to a neck injury.

In the video, Aminata appears to have traveled to AEW television last week and met with doctors, who said she needs an MRI before she can be cleared to return to the ring.

Aminata said:

“The good news is I feel a lot better. Even Doc noticed that. The bad news is I have to do my MRI in order for me to start bumping in the ring. Actually, it’s not such bad news. I’m excited, but I’m also nervous, I’m not going to lie.”

She later added:

“Since I signed with AEW two years ago, I haven’t had any bad injury that took me out for so many months like this one. And throughout these few months, or few weeks I should say, some people checked on me and a whole lot of people didn’t check on me. So make sure you know who your friends are and make sure you support them, too.”

Aminata also revealed in her vlog last week that AEW informed her that her contract has been extended and now runs to February 2027.

AEW wrestler reveals contract extension

Queen Aminata has revealed that her AEW contract has been extended.

Aminata shared the news in a video posted to YouTube on Wednesday, saying:

“AEW also extended my beautiful, juicy contract until February 2027. What can I say at this point? I’m happy. Even though my neck is messed up right now and I can’t wrestle, I’m very happy and very, very motivated. I can’t wait to go back.”

Aminata has not wrestled since the October 29, 2025 edition of AEW Dynamite. She was scheduled to compete in the Women’s Blood & Guts match on November 12 but was pulled from the bout due to a neck injury and has been out of action since. She was also forced to withdraw from the ROH Women’s Pure title tournament because of the injury.

Aminata began working AEW events on Dark and Dark: Elevation in the spring of 2021. She officially signed with the company in February 2024.

Tony Khan ROH media call notes: TV deal holdup, potential signing, injury updates

There is no news on a Ring of Honor TV deal other than ROH head Tony Khan says he has turned down several offers from “great” media partners.

Khan was asked about that and more during his Final Battle pre-call Thursday, the audio of which can be found below.

He said he’s had opportunities at times to put ROH on TV from “great” media partners, but that AEW is the focus with a “half billion dollar” contract. He thinks ROH media rights don’t have to be equal or greater than that, but any deal has to be something that makes sense and the perfect situation with a media partner. He says there has been interest, but didn’t say who from.

Khan also revealed that Queen Aminata wasn’t cleared for her ROH Women’s Pure title semifinal Wednesday so she had to forfeit, meaning Deonna Purrazzo has advance to the finals at Final Battle.

He also provided an update on Nick Wayne and said he’s expected back soon while admitting the recovery from his broken foot has taken longer than he originally thought to no fault of Wayne’s.

On whether he’s signed Zayda Steel to a contract, Khan said to “stay tuned” and hinted she might be wrestling against Leila Grey at Final Battle.

Other notes:

  • Asked if Mercedes Mone could be more of a fixture on ROH going forward, Khan says he hopes so and referred to her as a “free agent” ROH brought in.
  • Khan was asked about getting the Jack Harlow song “Lovin’ on Me” for Blake Christian’s entrance, but Khan has made no progress other than getting “1% approval.” If he can get the other 99% of stakeholders to approve, he’ll do it.
  • Khan said he thinks this year has been the “most complete” and best year of TV/streaming specials for ROH since he bought it.

Queen Aminata withdraws from ROH Women’s Pure title tourney semifinals, Final Battle update

The inaugural Ring of Honor Women’s Pure title tournament has its first official finalist, but not by the means they hoped.

Revealed during Thursday’s ROH Final Battle media call, Tony Khan said that Queen Aminata was not cleared by doctors Wednesday when her semifinal bout with Deonna Purrazzo was set to be taped. As a result, Aminata forfeited the match and Purrazzo has advanced to the finals at Friday’s streaming special.

Purrazzo now awaits the winner of the Yuka Sakazaki vs. Billie Starkz semifinal that airs on tonight’s ROH on HonorClub.

Aminata also had to be pulled from last month’s AEW Blood and Guts match due to a neck injury. She had only hoped to be out for a few weeks.

Queen Aminata discusses not being cleared for AEW Blood & Guts

Queen Aminata published a vlog on Wednesday discussing having to miss the Women’s AEW Blood & Guts match last week.

Aminata did get involved on the outside of the cage during the match, fending off Penelope Ford while wearing a neck brace. However, she was not cleared to wrestle on the show. She has been out of action since she was removed from the scheduled Blood & Guts advantage match against Megan Bayne after not being cleared to compete. She previously revealed in her vlog last week that she has been dealing with a neck injury.

In her vlog, Aminata spoke with Kris Statlander backstage after the match and said:

I was watching you guys all crying in my heart cause I wanted to be part of it so bad.”

Later in the vlog she said:

“I still can’t process it honestly cause I was watching in Gorilla and I had so many emotions like in my head and my body. I was so mad and sad and frustrated that I wasn’t part of the match but the girls were doing so freaking amazing that I was happy and excited at the same time.”

“I just wanted to be in there and just bleed and do all this crazy amazing stuff that they were doing, but at the same time I was supporting my girls too. I am super duper proud of all of us. Like, thank you AEW. Thank you for supporting women wrestling.”

“I hope we do it next year again. I hope I’m part of it next year.”

“I don’t even want to do regular matches anymore. I just want to do these type of matches. I just want to bleed and bump on chairs and tables and the floor. But here’s the thing, I got to take care of my neck. I have to protect my neck.”

It is unclear how Aminata sustained the injury. Her last match was on the Fright Night edition of Dynamite on October 29, when her and Jamie Hayter were eliminated from the Women’s Tag Team Championship tournament by Skye Blue and Julia Hart.

Queen Aminata reveals specific injury, potential return timeline

Queen Aminata, originally a big part of both the build and the payoff for the first-ever AEW’s Women’s Blood & Guts match, ended up missing out due to injury.

On her latest vlog Wednesday, she shared some specific injury information and hinted at a timeline for her return.

On the November 5 edition of Dynamite, Aminata was scheduled to face Megan Bayne as part of a series of matches to determine which team would get the advantage in Blood & Guts. She was not cleared for the match, however, and her vlog showed her emotional reaction to getting the news that afternoon.

“I already cried my eyes out, but I’m in the locker room right now. I was not cleared because my neck is so tight,” she said. “I can’t even move it a little bit. And because of that, I got taken out of the match today, and that resulted in me being taken out of Blood & Guts.”

Aminata was sure to credit the AEW medical team.

“Safety comes first,” she said. “I’d rather be out for two-to-three weeks than be out for six months…I’m disappointed, but I know the team here in AEW and medical are trying their best to make me understand that they are doing this for my own good, for my own well-being.”

She did not say how she got the injury.

Aminata has already been cleared to travel as she flew to North Carolina just two days later to make an appearance for DPW. She was in Greensboro, North Carolina, for Wednesday’s Blood & Guts, making a brief appearance in a neck brace to run off the also-injured Penelope Ford.

AEW wrestler Queen Aminata not cleared for indie match

AEW wrestler Queen Aminata will not be able to compete in her scheduled match for indie promotion Deadlock Pro Wrestling this Friday.

After being pulled from the upcoming AEW Blood & Guts lineup, it was announced today that Aminata is also not medically cleared to compete for Deadlock Pro at their Showdown in Cary II event. She was scheduled to defend her DPW Women’s Championship against Dani Luna at the November 7 show in Cary, North Carolina. Instead, Luna will now face Jada Stone.

Deadlock Pro announced the following card changes while thanking fans for their understanding and continued support:

The issue that Aminata is dealing with has not been disclosed. She mentioned a possible knee injury on her vlog last month, though it’s not known if that has anything to do with this.

Mina Shirakawa is listed as Aminata’s replacement in the first-ever women’s Blood & Guts match. It’s taking place on Dynamite next Wednesday (November 12) and will pit Shirakawa, Kris Statlander, Toni Storm, Jamie Hayter, Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron against Thekla, Skye Blue, Julia Hart, Marina Shafir, Megan Bayne & Mercedes Mone.

Lineup change made to women’s AEW Blood & Guts match

Queen Aminata is officially out of next Wednesday’s AEW Blood & Guts match — the first one ever featuring the women of AEW.

Aminata was pulled off Wednesday’s Dynamite where she was set to challenge Megan Bayne in the first of a best-of three series to determine who will have the woman advantage in the bout. She was replaced by Mina Shirakawa who fell in defeat to Bayne.

Before the show began, AEW head Tony Khan said Aminata wasn’t medically cleared to compete after not being 100% in last week’s AEW Women’s Tag Team title quarterfinal match either. He cast doubt as to whether Aminata would even be able to compete in the double cage match.

A graphic shown at the top of the show made it official that Shirakawa was joining AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander, Toni Storm, Jamie Hayter, Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron to take on Thekla, Skye Blue, Julia Hart, Marina Shafir, Bayne, and Mercedes Mone. Two bouts on Saturday’s Collision will determine the woman advantage.

It’s unclear if Aminata is still dealing with a knee injury she mentioned on her vlog in mid-October.

Tony Khan announces change to AEW Dynamite lineup and possibly for Blood & Guts

Queen Aminata is out and Mina Shirakawa is in as part of a change to tonight’s AEW Dynamite lineup.

In a video posted to social media before the show, AEW head Tony Khan said that Aminata appeared on last week’s Collision Women’s Tag Team title tournament quarterfinal at less than 100% and prior to tonight’s show, medical personnel declared her out of action for tonight.

Aminata was set to face Megan Bayne in a Blood & Guts advantage match as part of a series of bouts to determine which team for next Wednesday would have the woman advantage. However, Shirakawa was tabbed for the spot in her place and that Toni Storm will be on commentary for the match.

While Shirakawa and Bayne have shared the ring frequently dating back to Stardom in 2023, this will be their first-ever singles meeting.

Khan also said he is event hesitant to keep Aminata in the double cage match next week. He didn’t say what the injury was and when he will make the call, but as recently as mid-October, Aminata said she was dealing with a knee injury. She has wrestled three times since that news, all of which came after October 19.

AEW Dynamite lineup for tonight:

  • AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament first round: Mercedes Mone & Athena vs. Babes Of Wrath (Harley Cameron & Willow Nightingale)
  • Hangman Page, Hook & Eddie Kingston vs. The Opps (Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata & Powerhouse Hobbs) in a non-title match
  • Women’s Blood & Guts Advantage Battle series match 1: Megan Bayne vs. Mina Shirakawa
  • Women’s Blood & Guts Advantage Battle series match 2: Jamie Hayter vs. Skye Blue
  • Men’s Blood & Guts Advantage Battle series match 1: Orange Cassidy vs. Claudio Castagnoli
  • Men’s Blood & Guts Advantage Battle series match 2: Darby Allin vs. Daniel Garcia

First team advances in AEW Women’s Tag Team title tournament, next match set

In somewhat of an upset, The Sisters of Sin advanced in the first round of the inaugural AEW Women’s Tag Team title tournament.

Julia Hart & Skye Blue picked up the win over rivals Jamie Hayter & Queen Aminata during Wednesday’s Fright Night edition of AEW Dynamite. The win was aided by Thekla attacking Hayter outside the ring, leading to the pinfall on Aminata by Blue inside the ring.

It’s the first traditional tag team win for Blue and Hart since March 2024. They will face the winners of Mercedes Mone & Athena vs. Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron.

Later on, it was confirmed the Mone/Athena vs. Nightingale/Cameron bout will take place on next Wednesday’s Dynamite. That was made official Wednesday after Nightingale and Cameron made the save for AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander as Mone and Athena were beating her down in the ring.

In another development, Marina Shafir will join Megan Bayne in the tournament as Penelope Ford had to withdraw due to a UCL injury in her right arm.

AEW Women’s World Tag Team title tournament bracket:

Left side:

  • Julia Hart & Skye Blue defeated Jamie Hayter & Queen Aminata to advance
  • Mercedes Mone & Athena vs. Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron (Wed., November 5)

Right side:

  • Riho & Alex Windsor vs. Toni Storm & Mina Shirakawa (Date TBA)
  • Anna Jay & Tay Melo vs. Penelope Ford & Megan Bayne (Date TBA)

AEW & ROH wrestler reveals possible knee injury

Image: AEW

AEW & Ring of Honor wrestler Queen Aminata is dealing with a possible knee injury, revealed on her latest vlog.

During the part of the vlog shot last Wednesday in Jacksonville, Florida, when Collision was being taped, Aminata said that she was rolling around in the ring and “I hurt my knee a little,” visibly limping as she was filming. She mentioned going to do a pre-tape segment, but nothing made air.

After the show when she was heading to the airport at 4 AM Eastern, she said, “I’m so tired. My knee is so friggin’ sore.” After she got home, she again said she was tired and then “my knee is super sore and swollen.”

No footage was shown of how she suffered the injury or any other details. She was not seen wearing a brace during the video.

The 29-year-old hasn’t wrestled since the Tailgate Brawl show prior to AEW All Out on September 20. As of this writing, she has yet to be announced for her next match.

First match announced for AEW Saturday Tailgate Brawl

An Eight-Woman Tornado Tailgate Brawl is set for AEW’s upcoming All Out pre-show.

It was announced on Collision that Willow Nightingale, Mina Shirakawa, Harley Cameron, and Queen Aminata will team up to take on Julia Hart, Skye Blue, Megan Bayne, and Penelope Ford in a tornado match at AEW’s Saturday Tailgate Brawl event, which will serve as the pre-show prior to All Out that will air at 2 pm ET on TNT and HBO Max.

The eight women have been teaming against each other in recent weeks as part of All Star Eight Woman tag team matches. It was in one of these matches that AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm issued the challenge for All Out against Thekla, Jamie Hayter, and Kris Statlander.

This will be AEW’s first pre-show held on cable television and HBO Max. The usual pre-show, Zero Hour, airs across social media.

Here is the updated lineup for Saturday Tailgate Brawl:
