AEW Dynamite video highlights: Final build to Beach Break

The stage is set for next week’s Beach Break edition of AEW Dynamite.

A week before Kenny Omega & The Good Brothers team against Jon Moxley, PAC & Rey Fenix, Fenix and Moxley attacked the trio in the main event segment of last night’s show.

After The Young Bucks & Good Brothers defeated The Dark Order in the main event, Fenix attacked Gallows and Anderson. The Good Brothers overcame the attack at first, but Moxley ran in to make the save for Fenix. Fenix landed a suicide dive on Gallows and Anderson.

Omega then ran in to go after Moxley. Instead, Moxley laid out the AEW World Champion with a Paradigm Shift.

Jungle Boy defeated Dax Harwood in a match where Tully Blanchard and Cash Wheeler were handcuffed to Luchasaurus at ringside. Jungle Boy’s victory was shot-lived, though. FTR and Blanchard used powder, a slingshot suplex, and a spike piledriver to subdue Jurassic Express, then cut the horns off Luchasaurus’ mask.

A week before they participate in a battle royal to determine the number one tag team contenders, Chris Jericho & MJF defeated Brian Pillman Jr. & Griff Garrison, with Jericho pinning Pillman. Dissension in The Inner Circle was teased throughout the show, with the primary focus on Sammy Guevara and MJF.

The build to the Revolution PPV continued as well last night, with Sting, Darby Allin, and Team Taz addressing each other via promos ahead of their street fight at the event. Cody Rhodes also responded to Shaquille O’Neal’s vague challenge from the AEW Awards show, with a Cody & Red Velvet vs. Shaq & Jade Cargill mixed tag teased for the PPV.

Hikaru Shida defeated Anna Jay to retain the AEW Women’s World Championship on Dynamite. After the match, Abadon entered and left a blood stain on Shida’s title belt.

In the Dynamite opener, Hangman Page defeated The Dark Order’s John Silver. Dark Order’s Evil Uno made a recruiting pitch to Page after the match.

A week before Cody Rhodes and Darby Allin face Team Taz’s Powerhouse Hobbs and Ricky Starks, Taz choked out Rhodes with a Tazmission.

Chris Jericho and Jake Hager of The Inner Circle defeated SCU’s Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian after MJF hit Daniels with his Dynamite Diamond ring. Scorpio Sky saved Kazarian and Daniels from a post-match attack from the entire Inner Circle.

In the show’s final match, Butcher and Blade beat Death Triangle members PAC and Rey Fenix after an assist from Eddie Kingston. Kingston and his family assaulted Death Triangle after the match, but Lance Archer ran in to make the save and attacked Kingston.

Cody defeated Mr. Brodie Lee in a bloody dog collar match to win back the TNT Championship on last night’s AEW Dynamite.

After a brutal brawl that saw both men’s faces turned into the proverbial crimson masks, Cody pinned Lee after hitting Cross Rhodes on the chain that linked the dog collars.

The match also saw John Silver, Alex Reynolds, and Arn Anderson get physically involved.

After Cody retained, Orange Cassidy appeared on the stage to respond to the new champ’s request to defend the title on next week’s Dynamite.

Dynamite was billed as the 30 Years of Chris Jericho show, and Jericho went on last. He teamed with Jake Hager in a winning effort against Serpentico and Luther.

Following the main event, MJF interrupted a Jericho promo and offered him gifts. The two teased a confrontation, but they ended the segment celebrating together.

A series of shout-outs aired throughout the episode, with various wrestling legends and Jericho’s celebrity friends congratulating him on his anniversary.

FTR successfully defended their AEW Tag titles against the TH2 duo of Angelico and Jack Evans. After the match, Best Friends confronted FTR and informed them that they will be their opponents in a Tag title match next week.

After Moxley dispatched MJF’s lawyer Mark Sterling, Wardlow and MJF hit the ring and bloodied Moxley with MJF’s Dynamite Diamond ring. Wardlow stared at the title belt while MJF peppered Moxley with strikes. MJF then took the belt and posed with it as the show ended.

Thunder Rosa defeated Serena Deeb in women’s division action. Rosa will face Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s World Championship at All Out.

Participants in Saturday’s Casino Battle Royale brawled after a promo segment between Taz, Jake Roberts, and Eddie Kingston broke down into violence.

Hangman Page is out of The Elite following last night’s AEW Dynamite.

Page sabotaged The Young Bucks in the tag team number one contender’s gauntlet match. Had The Bucks won, Page and Kenny Omega would have defended their AEW World Tag Team titles against them at All Out. Instead, FTR went on to win the match and the title shot.

Later, The Bucks confronted Page in the arena bar. Matt Jackson threw a drink in Page’s face and called him a drunk. Matt and Nick then kicked Page out of The Elite. Page’s partner Omega was conspicuous by his absence.

Jon Moxley and MJF signed the contract making their AEW World title match at All Out official. Moxley also secured a match against MJF’s lawyer on next week’s Dynamite.

A new faction comprised of The Butcher, The Blade, Pentagon Jr., Rey Fenix and managed by Eddie Kingston made their debut as a unit with a win over Sonny Kiss, Joey Janela, Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr.

Mr. Brodie Lee defeated Cody to win the TNT Championship in the main event of last night’s AEW Dynamite.

Lee beat Cody in what was essentially a squash match and his Dark Order faction left Cody’s Nightmare Family laying at the end of the show.

FTR continued their climb to the top of the tag team division with a win over Private Party in the show opener. FTR also revealed that they have aligned themselves with Tully Blanchard who accompanied them to ringside for the match.

Matt Hardy and Sammy Guevara’s feud continued last night. Hardy attacked Guevara with a chair, then sent him through a table. The two are scheduled to meet on Thursday’s Dynamite in a tables match.

MJF will challenge AEW World Champion Jon Moxley for the title at All Out on September 5, but last night MJF was in a neck brace and threatened legal action against Moxley unless Moxley agrees to not use the Paradigm Shift in their match.

The Elite trio of The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega defeated 3, 4 and 5 of The Dark Order, but the real story came after the match when Omega had to be pulled away from 5 by The Bucks for dishing out too much punishment.

Diamante and Ivelisse won the inaugural AEW Women’s Tag Team Cup tournament, scoring a victory over Brandi Rhodes and Allie.

AEW Dynamite video highlights: Moxley vs. Allin, Bischoff appears

Jon Moxley retained the AEW World Championship in the main event of Dynamite last night.

Moxley pinned Allin after a match that had interference from MJF and Wardlow. MJF made it clear earlier in the show that he would prefer to face Allin at All Out on September 5 when he challenges for the title. Wardlow distracted the referee while MJF laid out Moxley with a belt shot. Allin hit a Coffin Drop but Moxley kicked out and went on to retain his championship in spite of the interference.

Chris Jericho and Orange Cassidy engaged in a verbal debate ahead of their match on next week’s Dynamite. Former WCW president Eric Bischoff made an unadvertised appearance and served as the moderator for the debate.

Dynamite opened with a strong 12-man tag featuring members of The Elite teaming with FTR against The Dark Order. The Elite came up short after Dax Harwood of FTR suffered an injury that left their team short-handed.

The feud between Britt Baker and Big Swole continued by way of a match between Swole and Baker’s assistant, “Reba,” formerly known as Rebel in TNA Wrestling.

Best Friends defeated Santana and Ortiz in a tag match, but Santana and Ortiz got the last laugh after defacing Trent’s mother’s van.

There is no shortage of challengers for Moxley as MJF also challenged the champion. He delivered a “state of the industry address” where he claimed that Moxley has been ducking him.

Cody retained his TNT Championship with a win over Warhorse, but the big news coming out of that segment was in the post-match. In his AEW debut, Matt Cardona, the former Zack Ryder, came to Cody’s aid after Alex Reynolds and John Silver of The Dark Order attacked Cody.

Hangman Page and Kenny Omega retained their AEW World Tag Team titles with a victory against The Dark Order’s Evil Uno and Stu Grayson.

Other highlights saw AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida win a non-title match against Diamante and Best Friends, Jurassic Express and Orange Cassidy defeat The Inner Circle in a 10-man tag. Later in the show, Chris Jericho challenged Cassidy to a debate next week and a match on August 12.

After the match, Darby Allin made his return and attacked Cage. Allin was injured during the Casino Ladder Match at Double or Nothing and the injury was attributed to Cage.

Cody retained the TNT Championship with a win over Sonny Kiss. It was heavily teased during this match that Tully Blanchard is scouting Cody.

The following match also saw a Blanchard tease, as he was again shown in the crowd watching FTR take on The Lucha Brothers. After the match, The Young Bucks gave FTR their truck back after taking the keys from Butcher and Blade. FTR and Kenny Omega then had a confrontation, continuing their angle.

Chris Jericho and The Inner Circle were “juiced” by Orange Cassidy. After Jericho denied Cassidy a rematch, Cassidy appeared and made oranges and juice rain from the ceiling.
