AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday live results: Double Jeopardy match

AEW returns to Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida, tonight for a special two-and-a-half hour Title Tuesday episode of Dynamite.

The AEW men’s World Champion Hangman Page and his WrestleDream challenger Samoa Joe are scheduled for a face-to-face segment on the show ahead of their title match on October 18.

In a Double Jeopardy match, AEW World Tag Team Champions Brody King & Brodido face Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada & Konosuke Takeshita. Should King and Bandido win, the wrestler who scores the fall will challenge Okada for his title. Should Okada and Takeshita win, they earn a future Tag Team title shot.

Jon Moxley will take on NJPW stalwart Tomohiro Ishii while PAC faces Orange Cassidy in a singles match for the first time since 2022.

Two title matches are set for Title Tuesday with TBS Champion Mercedes Mone defending in an open challenge, plus Kyle Fletcher defends the TNT title against Kyle O’Reilly.

The Hurt Syndicate face The Demand in a street fight, and Jurassic Express will be in action as a team for the first time since 2022.

AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday comes on the air with Excalibur welcoming us alongside Taz & Bryan Danielson before throwing it to Tony Schiavone in the ring to introduce Champion & Challenger for the AEW Men’s World Title match at WrestleDream.

Hangman Adam Page & Samoa Joe Face-To-Face

Powerhouse Hobbs & the returning Katsuyori Shibata accompanied Joe to the stage before he went to the ring along. Page took the mic first, saying there’s been 6 years of AEW Dynamite and he’s won, lost, committed arson, dressed as the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and once even proposed to. Last week, he agreed to team with The Opps, but after he won the match for his team, Joe lost it and sucker punched him in the face. Page is confused, but when Joe yelled that Page has never beaten him, that’s what it became about, the AEW World Title. Joe saw Page with the title and wanted it. Joe has been angry with himself, distracted on what’s important, but Page didn’t ask for Joe to have this opportunity due to kicking and screaming, but because Page owes Joe. At All In, The Opps were some that made sure the fight between Page & Moxley was a fair one, which is something Page respects. Page understood without help like that, he’d never been able to win the title, no one could, but the respect stops there, as he will not let Joe take the title from him.

Joe said everything Page said was absolutely true, but allow him to share some uncomfortable truths of his own. When Joe looks at Page, he doesn’t see the pinnacle of pro wrestling, but instead, a pretender. Page wouldn’t be champion without The Opps, as no one else had his back more consistently than they have. Page was right, Joe was so distracted going after the Death Riders, he took his eye off the World Champion, which Page certainly isn’t. Page has fake gratitude, while Joe provided the opportunity, just coming to collect what is owed. The most uncomfortable truth of all is what’s standing in front of him is a fraud and he’s here to check Page. Joe will beat, break and torture Page, despite giving his best efforts and at the moment Page will try to stand tall will be the moment Joe chokes him out, thus giving everyone a rightful World Champion.

Page questions why he always has to defend himself as a champion to guys like Joe, as he’s proved it when the bell rings. Page accepts that with a bad neck, Joe will kick his ass for a good while at WrestleDream. If Joe throws one shot, Page will give two back, and if the choke is applied, he’ll never tap to Joe, who can’t outlast Page. When the match is over and Joe is flat on his back, beaten as fairly as possible, Page hopes Joe brings the same energy for the sport and championship, stand up, look Page in the eye and accept him as the Champion of the World. After an intense stare-down, Page power walked to the stage, as this was an excellent back and forth to ramp up the road to the PPV main event.

-Earlier today, Alicia Atout is with The Conglomeration, as Mark Briscoe said tonight they have a big night and also week, as Willow Nightingale will team with Conglomeration-adjacent JetSpeed to beat FTR on Collision. Kyle O’Reilly is ready for Kyle vs. Kyle 2, as Roderick Strong told him to bring his TNT Title back. Briscoe said Orange Cassidy will give PAC the beating he deserves and Big Tom will beat Jon Moxley in a slobberknocker. Cassidy got everyone (Atout included) except Strong to do an all-hands-on deck before walking off.

Jon Moxley (w/Marina Shafir) vs. New Japan Strong Openweight Champion Tomohiro Ishii

(What a battle this was, as it was back and forth from the bell, with the crowd biting at the multiple near falls Big Tom had. Commentary really drove home how Moxley was looking in the best shape of his career and needs to be headed into an I Quit Match with Darby Allin at the PPV in a few weeks. I will say, despite Shafir interfering briefly prior to commercial, this was run-in free, which is a rarity for Death Riders matches.)

Excalibur pre-match talked about Moxley being 2-0 against Ishii in their singles meetings, once in the 2019 G1 Climax and the other on Dynamite a few years ago. Forearm exchange out the gate, until Moxley ramped it up, but Ishii no sold and mowed down Moxley with a shoulder tackle outside. Ishii was out after, where forearms and chops continued being traded. Ishii was posted, but no sold due to not having a neck, as Moxley was sent crashing into the post in retaliation. Moxley took the ref back inside, allowing Shafir to trip Ishii on the apron and rake the eyes, leaving Moxley to explode in with a dropkick to control into commercial.

Moxley controlled the break, until things returned, where Ishii started absorbing shots, walking through all of Moxley’s forearms. Vertical suplex from Ishii, whose bleeding from the nose, as he missed a sliding lariat, but connected on the backdrop suplex. Ishii charged, but Moxley exploded out of the corner with a lariat and dished out 9 punches until opting to flip off the crowd, allowing Ishii to hit a powerbomb high stack for two. Both dodge sliding lariats and curb stomps until Ishii threw an uppercut headbutt and lariat for a near fall of his own. Moxley floated over the brainbuster, hit a few big boots, until both started popping up and no selling until Moxley bolted at Ishii with a Busaiku Knee into the double down. Danielson even mentioned that might’ve been something Moxley learned from him.

Moxley was up first, but Ishii swung threw a lariat, only Moxley met him with a Cutter for two. Moxley signaled for the end, connected on a piledriver, but Ishii’s lack of neck had him not drop, so Moxley hit a Curb Stomp, only Ishii kicked out again. Ishii hit a home run forearm and sliding lariat, applying a submission, but Moxley escaped. Both up, Moxley hit the Paradigm Shift, Ishii kicked out, so Moxley applied a Rear Naked Choke and Ishii passed out.

Match Result: Jon Moxley defeated Tomohiro Ishii

-Renee Paquette is backstage with The Young Bucks, knocking on Tony Khan’s dressing room, begging for another money match after going broke last week. Paquette asked about Jurassic Express and Matt said they’ll have seats tonight to watch and said they had to give up some of their sneakers to get them. Nick kept banging on the door, but was unsuccessful.

**********

-By the Numbers video package for Kris Statlander vs. Timeless Toni Storm at WrestleDream was shown with Renee Paquette narrating. Storm has held the Women’s Title for 640 days, defeating all other former Women’s Champions, except Statlander and if she does, will become the first member of the 5 Timers Club. While Statlander has spent over 600 days on the injured list, Paquette told Storm to tape up her tits, while Stat Daddy is ready. We then see footage from Collision last week with the two coming to blows until the Triangle of Madness appeared and laid them both out. Statlander, Storm & Harley Cameron take on Triangle of Madness this week on Collision Homecoming.

The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin & MVP) vs. The Demand (Ricochet, Toa Liona & Bishop Kaun) in a Street Fight

(If you like guys beating the crap out of one another with weapons and plenty of tables, this was the match for you. While I thought this went on probably longer than it needed to, even in defeat, The Demand got in a lot of offense, until The Syndicate made their comeback and stood tall. We’re 1-1 in this feud, so I assume we aren’t done yet.)

The Demand chucked a bunch of weapons into the ring before the Hurt Syndicate walked out in suits, as the fight was on at the bell, with Ricochet & MVP swinging canes at one another. Liona planted Lashley with a Samoan Drop on a chair in the ring, but missed a follow-up splash in the corner, flying outside. Benjamin sent Kaun crashing into the apron and barricade repeatedly, while Ricochet caught MVP with a low blow in the ring. The Demand swarmed MVP until Lashley made the save and brawled with Liona ringside. Ricochet was hiding underneath a set-up table and was ratted out by the fans, as MVP dragged him out and up the ramp with a snap suplex. Lashley cracked Liona with a crutch, while in the ring, Benjamin slammed Kaun on a chair. Everyone fought into a pile, allowing Ricochet to sprint down the stage and hit a somersault dive onto everyone into commercial.

Plunder aplenty during break, as things return with Kaun ducking a chair shot from Lashley against the post. Back in the ring, Kaun hit shotgun dropkicks on everyone in his path until laying out Lashley with a slingshot cross body and Benjamin with a Samoan Drop. Liona tried to put Lashley through a table, but he slipped free, charged for a Spear, only Kaun chucked a chair at Lashley’s face. Liona bealed Lashley through the table until Ricochet & Liona placed him on another one, with Kaun doing a Cactus Elbow through it. Liona & MVP smashed through the barricade, until G.O.A. Opened the Gates on Benjamin for two.

A third table was set up in the ring, as Benjamin was placed on it, Ricochet hit a Shooting Star, but the table didn’t break. Awkward spot, as I think Liona was about to made sure it broke and went for a splash, but MVP jumped in at the same time and everyone just smashed through it, with Benjamin trapped under them. Benjamin low bridged Liona and hit a pump knee and took out Kaun, leaving Ricochet to go tat it alone, throwing a series of superkicks. Fourth table placed in the corner, as Benjamin went to take out Kaun, but Ricochet took the bullet. As Benjamin tried a powerbomb, Kaun handed Ricochet a chair and popped Benjamin with it. Kaun went to charge at Benjamin, but Lashley flew in with a Spear and gave one to Ricochet & Liona as well. Outside, Lashley spiked Liona through a table with a spinebuster, as Ricochet was left in a 3-on-1. Wild release German suplex through the table by Benjamin, as he pinned Ricochet to win it.

Match Result: The Hurt Syndicate defeated The Demand when Benjamin pinned Ricochet

-Renee Paquette is backstage with the 8 members of the Don Callis Family, as Callis said they’re smarter than everyone else and said Josh Alexander will dismantle Kota Ibushi on Collision. Tonight, Kyle O’Reilly is such a mark he named himself after Kyle Fletcher. Rocky Romero said Hechicero ripped Bandido’s shoulder out of socket last week in Arena Mexico and is the rightful ROH Champion, while Callis said tonight, Takeshita & Okada will win and get a title match at WrestleDream, winning the Tag Titles from Brodido, thus The Family will have all the gold.

Jurassic Express (Jungle Jack Perry & Luchasaurus) vs. ?

Huge inflatable balls with the Jurassic Express logo were hit around in the crowd and even got in the ring briefly during the match itself. We were never actually told the opponents names outside of one being O’Ryan (I believe KM was the other, but he never officially entered the match). Perry had a fast start as cameras cut to The Young Bucks sitting in the nosebleeds with kids, as Luchasaurus slammed O’Ryan down. Assisted flipping powerbomb ultimately connected, as The Extinction got the win for Perry.

Post-match, The Bucks ran to the ring and slammed Perry into the barricade until Luchasaurus tried a double choke slam, but was kicked low. The Bucks hit a BTE Trigger on Luchasaurus, then laid out Perry with a Superkick. They took the mic and told Perry this is a callback, smashing the mic into his ribs. The Bucks officially challenge Jurassic Express at WrestleDream before spiking

Match Result: Jurassic Express defeated ?

-Death Riders are in the back, as PAC calls out tangerine balls Orange Cassidy, calling him a pipsqueak to wet his appetite and will do what he always does to him, out-wrestle, out-class and make him suffer. They have more ambition than dealing with the likes of Cassidy. Yuta said tonight will hurt Yuta almost as much as it hurts Cassidy as tonight, it’s time to trim the fat, no losers. Garcia interrupted and said he’s seen a lot of losers in the back, but that’s not what they’re about, they’re going to keep winning, as that’s what winners do.

Kyle Fletcher vs. Kyle O’Reilly for the TNT Title

(This was a frantic/chaotic Kyle scramble and I mean that as a huge compliment. O’Reilly was trying desperately for as many submissions as possible and it was Fletcher who was forced to scramble to escape and find a way to win this match on his own, without assistance. It’s another strong title defense for Fletcher, who I assume will have Mark Briscoe at WrestleDream, but that’s not official as of this writing.)

Don Callis joined commentary with Lance Archer playing bodyguard, as Callis said the more power he acquires, the more protection he needs. O’Reilly quickly countered a double stomp into an ankle lock, leaving Fletcher scrambling to the ropes for a break. Fletcher responded with a snap bodyslam before firing off chops. O’Reilly got a cross arm breaker, as Fletcher quickly got to the floor, but took his eye off the ball long enough, missing O’Reilly flying off the apron with a knee. Back inside, Fletcher caught O’Reilly with a flash Michinoku Driver and gained control heading to commercial.

Back from break, O’Reilly started regaining momentum with his combo of strikes ending with the big boot to the neck before locking in a guillotine. Fletcher went to grab the hair, so O’Reilly transitioned to a triangle. Fletcher powered out into a powerbomb, but O’Reilly quickly pounced for a heel hook. O’Reilly went for another diving knee off the apron outside, but Fletcher caught him with a thrust kick. Fletcher tried a big boot, but O’Reilly caught and turned it into a dragon screw into the chairs ringside. O’Reilly leapt from the apron for an insane diving dropkick to the floor, but missed a diving knee back inside. Desperation discus forearm by O’Reilly, but Fletcher answered by lawn darting O’Reilly into the corner that led to the double down.

This is Kyle chants from the crowd, as we get a forearm exchange until Fletcher threw a thrust kick, while O’Reilly answered with a Tornado DDT. O’Reilly kicked out the leg into a shoulder capture suplex, but Fletcher was up and turned O’Reilly inside out with a wild lariat. O’Reilly scrambled for an Ankle Lock followed by a Shining Wizard to the neck, but Fletcher barely kicked out. Back to the Ankle Lock, Fletcher rolled through and managed the Sheer Drop Brainbuster, but couldn’t follow up. Shaking out the bad leg, Fletcher hit his charging corner boot and spiked O’Reilly with another brainbuster for the win.

Post-match, Archer was going to chokeslam O’Reilly until Roderick Strong & Tomohiro Ishii made the save, but Rocky Romero came out to help his crew. Mark Briscoe came out to help, as he low bridged Archer and sent Romero packing. Briscoe & Fletcher both pulled punches on one another, which led to a stand-off until Fletcher retreated.

Match Result: Kyle Fletcher defeated Kyle O’Reilly to retain the TNT Title

**********

-Renee Paquette is backstage asking Kyle Fletcher why he backed down from Mark Briscoe after such a dominating victory? Fletcher said he’s not scared of Briscoe, he’s beaten him twice before, which Paquette reminded him Briscoe has beaten him twice as well and informed him Tony Khan has made it official, Fletcher vs. Briscoe for the TNT Title at WrestleDream. Don Callis was none too pleased and rushed Fletcher off to talk strategy.

Mercedes Mone vs. Lacey Lane in a TBS Title Open Challenge

(Lane had her hope spots, but much like a lot of the challengers in this Mone reign, no one believed she had a shot at winning, which is a big issue with this belt collector story. I’m not sure who will be a challenger fans can get behind and buy into Mone possibly losing one of her maty titles.)

Quick vignette for Lane, who said her & Mone had a chance to cross paths in the past, but never did. Tonight, that will change in her hometown, as Bryan Danielson said imagine the shock of the wrestling world if Lane won the title tonight, ending Mone’s reign at 499 days. Taz wished Lane luck, but it’ll be an uphill battle, as Mone wins titles even on her off days.

Early pin attempts from Lane, as Mone floated over in the corner, but missed a cross body. Rolling cradle by Lane for another two, until a springing dropkick sent Mone outside, where Lane met her with a baseball slide. Fast sequence back inside until Lane side-stepped and cracked Mone in the face with a low thrust kick. Mone went to the apron and tried a suplex to the floor, but was hung up by Lane, who followed with almost a Heatseeker variation for two, as Mone got her foot on the ropes, taking things to commercial.

Mone gained advantage during break, as she planted Lane with the Three Amigos before going up top, trying a Frog Splash, but Lane got the knees up. Mone missed a follow-up corner double knee, allowing Lane to hit a running thrust kick for two. Mone answered with a lungblower and sunset bomb into the buckle before missing the double knees yet again. Lane answered with a springboard leg-drop and hammerlock Flatliner for a close two. Unique Death Valley Driver into a leg drop, but Mone kicked out again. Lane wanted the hammerlock again, but Mone scrambled, trading pin attempts, until she managed a Mone Maker for the win.

Match Result: Mercedes Mone defeated Lacey Lane for the TBS Title

-Sammy Guevara is backstage with Beast Mortos to talk about Eddie Kingston going against LFI’s Beast at Collision. Guevara told Kingston to say goodbye to his family and friends and adios, which is Spanish for goodbye. Eddie Kingston is with HOOK and pleads for Mortos to stop letting Guevara to talk for him, it’ll result in getting his ass kicked. The highlight of this entire thing was Mortos wearing matching sunglasses with Guevara.

AEW Tag Team Champions Brodido (Brody King & ROH Champion Bandido) vs. AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada & Konosuke Takeshita in a Double Jeopardy Eliminator Match

(A great appetizer of what we can expect at the PPV now that Okada & Takeshita earned their shot here tonight. The slow build to the Callis Family crown jewels clashing continues, as it’s just a matter of time before the Callis Mega Powers explode. AEW loves their slow builds, so I can only assume how long it’ll be before that happens.)

Takeshita’s pose on the stage was cut-off by Okada’s theme, as he just blew right by Takeshita on his way to the ring. Bandido had his shoulder taped up thanks to Hechicero and their match at Arena Mexico last weekend. Takeshita went right after the bad arm, as he & Bandido had a quick series picking up where they left off at ROH Supercard of Honor this year. King tagged in and laid out Okada with a running senton before lighting him up with chops alongside Bandido. Head scissors and dropkick by Bandido, who is really selling the bad shoulder, forcing King to tag back in. Huge splash in the corner led to Okada dodging a second and Takeshita decking King with a big boot and DDT on the apron. For good measure, Okada hit a DDT of his own and we go to commercial with Okada & Takeshita staring each other down.

King was worn down the entire break, but things return with King firing off desperation swinging back suplexes on both Okada & Takeshita before mowing both down with a lariat. Bandido has recovered enough to make the hot tag and springboard senton on Okada for two, before spiking Takeshita with a huge pop-up hurricanrana. Springboard cross body to Okada led to a series of pin attempts for near falls. Okada slowed the momentum, but Bandido still planted him with a stalling suplex. King sent Takeshita packing, as Okada was spiked with a running PK into Dante’s Inferno, but Takeshita narrowly made the save. As a result, Takeshita was ping ponged with forearm strikes until King laid him out with a Black Hole Slam. Brodido signal for their monkey flip 450, but Okada put a stop to that, allowing Takeshita to hit the Cazadora German, which King no sold, so Takeshita hit a Blue Thunder Bomb sending King outside.

Takeshita popped Bandido with a forearm and knee strike, but Bandido countered Raging Fire into an inside cradle for two. Takeshita was up and went for another charging knee, but caught Okada on the apron instead. Bandido on one arm still hit the X-Knee on Takeshtia, but couldn’t do the 21-Plex properly, giving Takeshita a chance to connect on a Poison Rana. As Takeshita wanted the Power Drive Knee, Okada stole the tag, turned Bandido inside out with a Rainmaker and got the pin.

Match Result: Kazuchika Okada & Konosuke Takeshita defeated Brodido when Okada pinned Bandido to earn an AEW Tag Team Title Match at WrestleDream

-Renee Paquette is backstage with Willow Nightingale & JetSpeed ahead of their match this week on Collision against FTR & Megan Bayne. Speedball Bailey said they will always respect people with courage and stand up to bullies like Nightingale. Kevin Knight said last week, Dax Harwood was looking up at the lights in their match. Nightingale said Bayne & Penelope Ford were surprises last week, but brought up the little garden gnome, Strokely. Top Guys Down, JetSpeed Babes Up.

**********

-FTR & Stokely are backstage, with Stokely saying he respects JetSpeed a smidge since they are getting into the ring with FTR, but he’ll never respect Willow Nightingale, the reason why Dax Harwood lost against Kevin Knight last week. You don’t need hoes, when you have two bad bitches. Penelope Ford & Megan Bayne walks in and said this is Willow Nightingale’s reality check, as everywhere Bayne walks, Nightingale doesn’t stand a chance. Stokely said FTR & Bayne will put Nightingale & JetSpeed in their place. Bayne said Top Gods, Out.

-Renee Paquette is backstage with Brodido, as Bandido said he’s not making excuses, but they lost because of him. King said he’s always told him to never stop fighting and come WrestleDream, it doesn’t matter if they have two of the best wrestlers in the business, Brodido has THE best wrestler in the game and they’ll stand tall at the PPV.

PAC vs. Orange Cassidy

(It’s impossible for these two to have a bad match with one another, as despite being out of action for 181 days, PAC hadn’t missed a step. The post-match showed that Darby Allin is willing to create as much chaos as possible to ensure putting an end to Jon Moxley.)

If you thought seeing PAC with short hair would take getting used to, he’s now rocking a singlet and tights. PAC slowly took his time rag-dolling Cassidy, who tried little kicks, but PAC wasn’t having that and quickly got a headlock takedown. Working a cravat, Cassidy was able to escape until both traded wrist locks and counters. Flying arm drag from Cassidy, but PAC dodged in the corner, Cassidy floated up and over, sending PAC face first into multiple turnbuckles until a diving clothesline off the top sent PAC to the outside. Cassidy tried his Tope Tornado DDT, but PAC caught him mid-dive into a Falcon Arrow on the floor.

Back from break, PAC connected with a huge dropkick out of the corner, but started toying with Cassidy, who started slowly firing up, absorbing strikes. PAC lowered the straps, as both started throwing bombs of forearms until each caught one another with big boots. Forearms ramped up once more until PAC hit a bounce back German. Cassidy tried Beach Break, PAC escaped, only Cassidy connected with a PK sending PAC outside again. Cassidy tried his Tope DDT, PAC caught him again, only this time, Cassidy countered into a Stundog Millionaire. Third times a charm, as the Tope DDT spiked PAC on the floor.

PAC was placed on the timekeepers table, as Cassidy went up top, hands in pockets and dove onto PAC, crashing through the table. Back inside, spinning DDT planted PAC, as Cassidy kipped up and waffled him with the Orange Punch, but PAC got his foot on the rope. Cassidy went up top, but PAC took a page out of Cassidy’s playbook, slow rolling to the other side and to the stage. Cassidy went after PAC into the crowd, but PAC suckered him in and hit a Tombstone. Referee Bryce rushed out to check on Cassidy, but PAC ordered him back to the ring to put the count on Cassidy (Bryce’s voice hilariously turned squeaky hearing this command). With Bryce’s attention turned, PAC’s ankle was cuffed to the barricade by Darby Allin. Somehow, PAC was able to get himself free by the count of 7, dove back to the ring at 9, but rolled right into a Cassidy Cazadora pin for the victory.

Post-match, PAC sprinted at Allin, who was ready with presumably mace, blinding PAC and causing commentators to start coughing. Wheeler Yuta showed up and was dropped as well with a taser, as Jon Moxley, Claudio Castaginoli, Daniel Garcia & Marina Shafir hit ringside, trying to chase after Allin, but he was ready, bringing out a Molotov Cocktail. Death Riders kept their distance until security literally tacked Allin to the ground before it was used, while a huge pack of guards held the Death Riders off. Allin was laughing as he was being detained to close the show.

Match Result: Orange Cassidy defeated PAC

New matches and stipulations set for AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday

New matches and segments are set for AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday.

The start of this week’s Collision saw PAC confront Orange Cassidy, challenging him to a match for Tuesday which will air on head-to-head with NXT Showdown.

This will be his first match back since April when he was injured during a match against Swerve Strickland. He returned at All Out, helping Jon Moxley defeat Darby Allin in a coffin match.

Moxley will also be in action on Tuesday, taking on Tomohiro Ishii. Moxley will soon face Allin once again, this time in an I Quit match at WrestleDream.

Hangman Page and Samoa Joe will also meet face-to-face on Tuesday. The two teamed up together on last week’s Dynamite, but Joe became hostile towards Hangman after some miscommunication following their match, setting up the World Championship match at WrestleDream on October 18.

A TNT title match was also added, with Kyle Fletcher defending the TNT title against Kyle O’Reilly in what is being billed as ‘Kyle vs. Kyle 2.’ It will the second time they go against one another, with fans during their last match frequently chanting for “Kyle”.

New stipulations were also added to the upcoming Brodido vs. Kazuchika Okada & Konosuke Takeshita match. It will now be a double jeopardy match: if either Okada or Takeshita win, they earn a future AEW Tag Team title match. But if Bandido or Brody King win, whoever scores the pinfall faces Okada for his AEW Unified title.

After Collision went off the air, it was announced that Jurrassic Express will also be in action. It will be their first match as a team since 2022:

Here is the updated lineup for AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday. It was announced that like the last episode of AEW Dynamite, this show will also be two in a half hours.

Current AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday lineup:

  • TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher defends against Kyle O’Reilly
  • Orange Cassidy vs. PAC
  • TBS Champion Mercedes Mone defends against TBA
  • The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) vs. Hurt Syndicate (MVP, Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin) in a street fight
  • AEW World Tag Team Champions Brodido (Brody King & Bandido) vs. Kazuchika Okada & Konosuke Takeshita in a Double Jeopardy match
  • Jon Moxley vs. Tomohiro Ishii
  • Jurrassic Express in action
  • Samoa Joe/Hangman Page face-to-face

AEW announces ‘Title Tuesday’ Dynamite special for later this year

AEW is returning to its home base of Jacksonville, Florida for a pair of shows this October.

The promotion will hold a “Title Tuesday” edition of Dynamite at Daily’s Place on October 7. Daily’s Place will then host AEW Collision the next night on Wednesday, October 8.

Since 2022, Title Tuesday has taken place every October as a special episode of Dynamite. It exists because TBS’ coverage of the MLB playoffs forces Dynamite out of its regular Wednesday time slot one week every year.

The ticket on-sale date for the shows is next Monday (August 18). Hangman Page, Toni Storm, Jon Moxley, Mercedes Mone, Darby Allin, Kyle Fletcher, and Willow Nightingale are featured on AEW’s graphic promoting the events.

Airing on Tuesday means that Dynamite will face competition from WWE NXT on October 7. In 2024, Randy Orton competed in the main event of NXT opposite Title Tuesday. The previous year’s NXT episode was loaded up with appearances by The Undertaker and John Cena.

Daily’s Place holds special significance to AEW as the venue where the company staged its shows throughout the pandemic era. It’s connected to EverBank Stadium, where the Jacksonville Jaguars — owned by the Khan family — play their NFL games.

AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday live results: Danielson & Yuta vs. Castagnoli & PAC

AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday airs tonight with a match-up featuring both the AEW World Champion and the Trios Champions.

Bryan Danielson teams with Wheeler Yuta against Claudio Castagnoli and PAC. The remaining remnants of what was the Blackpool Combat Club fractured last month when Jon Moxley, PAC, and Castagnoli turned on Danielson. Yuta has remained conflicted as demonstrated by his teaming with Danielson.

A double title match is also set as NJPW Strong Women’s Champion and TBS Champion Mercedes Mone puts both belts on the line against Emi Sakura.

A shot at Mariah May’s AEW Women’s World Championship is on the line as Britt Baker faces Willow Nightingale with the winner facing May for the title as part of this Saturday’s WrestleDream pay-per-view.

Hologram makes his Dynamite debut tonight against Komander in what is billed as a special attraction while Hook will call out whoever attacked Taz last week. Additionally, Jay White will appear following his return to action last Wednesday.

Tonight’s WrestleDream go-home show kicks off at 9 PM Eastern.

**********

AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday comes on the air with Jon Moxley saying no one wants the blood of the legendary Bryan Danielson on their hands, despite Danielson trying to kamikaze himself. The way things have worked out, it has to be Moxley who gives a wakeup call to AEW. You don’t get to pick the day, everyone living in their fake world, Saturday night, they’ll see the truth. Moxley brings up the dark side of Danielson, which is a beautiful thing, as you back the Dragon into a corner, it becomes something truly terrifying. Danielson has never been comfortable with that part of himself, but as his world closes in around him, he will embrace his dark side. Moxley will be ready, he doesn’t have a choice. There aren’t enough people in the state of Washington to stop him on Saturday. What Moxley stands for is too powerful, whom shall we fear? Moxley will run into the mouth of war, so run while you have a chance, as he only hopes one day Danielson will understand. It has to be this way; the stakes are too high.

We then go to Bryan Danielson backstage earlier today bringing up Claudio Castagnoli telling Sports Illustrated earlier today that tonight is his last Dynamite. Danielson said he & Yuta will run through Castagnoli & PAC tonight. He’s been a supporter of Castagnoli in every company they’ve worked in, but tonight, there will be no support, as in Spokane, he will kick his F’n head in.

Darby Allin & Brody King Face to Face

Excalibur welcomes us alongside Tony Schiavone & Jeff Jarrett as Darby Allin makes his way to the ring. Allin called out Brody King to get his ass to the ring after King answered Allin’s challenge for WrestleDream. King walks out and we get highlights of the history between both men. Allin said he was so excited King answered his challenge, but he could’ve asked nicely. Allin brought up working the indies with King, staying in crackhead motels and how King didn’t know how his career would end up with a kid on the way. He recalls King being under a ROH contract at the time, prior to Tony Khan buying it and it was Allin who got King into AEW. Thanks to AEW, both of them helped their fathers retire, but the issue is, King wants Allin’s spot and Allin is the face of AEW, despite not expecting to make it.

Allin said he’s the one who does promotional work, the talk shows, but King interrupted and said he was right. King said what happens when Allin climbs Mount Everest? His dad will have to get a job again, but ultimately Allin needs someone to save him from himself. Allin screamed and sat in the corner, begging to start the fight now and King to hit the cannonball, but King told him to get up. Allin stood up and slapped King in the face and was promptly laid out. King went for a choke, but Allin had a rock in his jacket and blasted King in the face with it, busting King opened. Security ran down and stepped between, as King was the first to retreat.

-Renee Paquette is backstage with Lance Archer & Jake Roberts, as she brings up Don Callis wanting to recruit Archer, as Callis walks in, saying it’s an exciting day in AEW, as he & Roberts have done the first talent exchange. Lance Archer is officially part of the Don Callis family, as Archer shook hands with Callis, who refused to answer Paquette’s question about Will Ospreay, walking off with Archer, who gave one last handshake to Roberts before leaving. Paquette asks who Roberts got in return and he asked if she likes surprises, because so does he.

Daniel Garcia walks into the arena backstage and is approached by Renee Paquette, asking about his whereabouts since this was the first time being seen since All Out. Garcia said he wants to give her an answer, but owes it to the fans to give an explanation.

Hologram defeated Komander

(The crowd was really into this match from the start and gave it multiple This Is Awesome chants. Despite some spots being off, these two adjusted very quickly and got back on track to have a really flashy high-flying battle. I hope we eventually get a Hologram title shot down the line for any champion, as he has one of, it not the, longest winning streak in AEW at the moment.)

Commentary really put over the 13-0 winning streak that Hologram has compiled mainly on Collision, as this is his Dynamite debut. Quick series of takedowns in the early going, as both trade arm drags and monkey flips landing on their feet before a stalemate that had the crowd going. Test of strength led to a pop-up back flip off the chest of Komander, as a déjà vu sent Komander outside, where Hologram darted himself, connecting on a tope. Back inside, a flapjack and high kick got a quick two, as both trade submission counters before Hologram turned things into a snap suplex to get control into commercial.

When things returned, Komander flipped out of a drop down, did a wild somersault springboard series into a hurricanrana that sent Hologram outside. Komander sprung over the top with a dive before going back inside, trying another springboard, but Hologram met him in the corner with a reverse Spanish Fly for the reset. Hologram went for a 450, but Komander got the knees up. With Hologram back outside, Komander tried his rope walk dive, but Hologram sprung up, tried a mid-air hurricanrana, only for Komander to counter into a powerbomb. Both men slowly up and slugging it out, as it turns to kicks before Hologram tried a backflip into a slam, only for Komander to spike him into a Poison Rana. Komander wanted a follow up, but Hologram popped up with a Poison Rana of his own. Komander tried a springboard Poison Rana, but Hologram caught him into a wild airplane spin into a sit-out slam for the victory.

Jake Roberts walked to the stage post-match as Rush, Beast Mortos & Dralistico ran in and attacked Holorgam & Komander, tossing them to the outside. They gave the Los Faccion Ingobernables pose, as Mortos was reluctant at first, but did it, as did Roberts on stage. So, I guess Roberts is the manager of LFI, which is something I legit never saw coming.

-Lexy Nair is backstage with Mark Briscoe, who said last week, Chris Jericho didn’t have to take it where he did. At WrestleDream, it doesn’t even have to be about the ROH Title, he’s going to hurt Jericho.

Daniel Garcia Remains All Elite

Garcia comes to the ring and said it’s great to feel the energy of the crowd, as he’s missed this after sitting at home for a while. Garcia thanks Tony Khan for giving him this time, as when you’re sitting at home, you question what’s best for your life, despite it not being the easiest or best answer. Garcia never wanted to be a guy who didn’t follow through on his word, but felt it was important to look everyone in the eye to let them know what he’s going to do. Garcia came to the conclusion he can do whatever he wants, as he’s one of the best wrestlers in the world. Because he’s one of the best, it’s only right that he stays where the best wrestle, AEW.

The Daniel Garcia staying in AEW isn’t the same as before, he’s no longer the little bro who complains after every loss, he’s the one who you can build a foundation on and puts gold around his waist. The champions of AEW are no longer safe, the feeling is restored.

-Footage of Swerve Strickland training with EJ Nduka is shown, as it’s cut with footage of MVP calling out Strickland’s recent failures on his management, telling Prince Nana he’s ready whenever Strickland wants to talk business. We then see MVP & Shelton Benjamin backstage watching, as we’re told Swerve Strickland will be at WrestleDream.

**********

-Renee Paquette tried her best to introduce Mercedes Mone in the way Mone does, but she’s annoyed. Mone brings up everyone having an issue with her on Twitter and takes a shot at Kris Statlander. Mone mentions Emi Sakura wrestling longer than Mone has been alive and says money changes everything.

-Daniel Garcia is walking backstage and is congratulated by Isiah Kassidy, Anna Jay, Kyle O’Reilly, Orange Cassidy & Colt Cabana when Katsuyori Shibata walks up and through his phone tells Garcia he’ll be the next TNT Champion. They both shake hands and Shibata pretty much granted Garcia a title shot if he wins.

Willow Nightingale defeated Saraya (w/Harley Cameron), Nyla Rose & Jamie Hayter to earn an AEW Women’s Title shot at WrestleDream

(This was a chaotic match, as Nightingale made the most sense to take this match after her prior interactions with the AEW Women’s Champion. While there were a few other big spots, I think the return of Penelope Ford was almost an afterthought unfortunately, as her moment was quickly overshadowed by the table spot to end the match. It does appear The Outcasts have a new member and someone else for Jamie Hayter to fight prior to getting back into the title picture, whether it be for the Women’s or TBS gold.)

Mariah May joins commentary for this one, as we’re told Dr. Britt Baker fell ill and wasn’t able to travel. May asks if Baker fell on a tongue scraper or gave herself a root canal? Bell sounds and Saraya immediately bails, as Rose showed off her power, slamming Nightingale, as Hayter quickly took the fight to Rose. After attempting a superplex on Hayter, Nightingale almost cut off Rose with a powerbomb, but Rose countered into a hurricanrana. Hayter & Nightingale was about to face-off, when Cameron & Saraya attacked from behind, as there’s no DQ’s with it being a 4-way. The brawl went outside, where Rose flew in out of frame to wipe everyone out. At one point Cameron punched Hayter right in the face, which got a big reaction from Tony Schiavone and May asked if he needed a mint or Blue Chew, which was hysterical.

Back from break, Hayter avoided a Doctor Bomb from Nightingale and hit a Hayt-Breaker, as Saraya ran in with a thrust kick, but was mowed down by a Rose clothesline. Nightingale was up and flattened Rose with a spinebuster, as everyone is down. Commentary brings up a table set up ringside, as May said she wants her celebration at WrestleDream with Mina Shirakawa, something she was robbed of. She’s been following Shirakawa and said Timeless Toni Storm is dead. Hayter somehow hit a double suplex onto Rose & Nightingale at the same time, as Saraya tried a chair shot, but was cut off and clocked with the chair by Hayter instead. Cameron tried to intervene again, but was dispatched by Hayter. Penelope Ford ran out with a chair and smacked Hayter in the back, as the chance was on to the back.

The crowd chanted for tables as Rose hit a neckbreaker on Saraya before going up top, only for Cameron to shove her off and Rose went splat on the edge of the ring. Cameron had a heck of a time trying to slide the table into the ring, as Saraya hit Nightingale with the Good Knight before finally the table was set up in the corner. Miscommunication from Saraya & Cameron, who was hit with a Nightingale Doctor Bomb, while Saraya was driven through the table with a DVD, as Nightingale stacked both Outcasts and got the pin.

Nightingale celebrated up the ramp where May was waiting and tried a slap, but Nightingale caught her. May fired off a headbutt before whipping Nightingale with the AEW Women’s Title, standing tall.

-The Learning Tree are backstage as Big Bill said the people who need help the most are ones that want them the least. They all approach Rocky Romero, as Jericho said it’s time for learning and for Romero to learn his self-worth. Jericho brings up The Conglomeration inviting Romero to join them months after they were already a group, just to take care of Smart Mark Sterling, which Jericho said is the lowest spot possible in AEW. Jericho questions if Romero wants to be a lacky his whole career and Romero said he’s no man’s lacky. Jericho said he’ll become ROH Champion this Saturday and thanks Romero for his time. Keith told Romero to listen to Jericho, or else.

Switchblade Jay White (w/Juice Robinson) defeated Cody Chhun

White’s first match since July, as he fired off chops on Chhun early, driving shoulders to the midsection. Chhun managed a Manhattan Drop and leg lariat, as he hit a float over into a DDT for one. White responded with a wild lariat and corner strikes before a half suplex sent Chhun to the corner. A huge Uranage spiked Chhun, which led to a Blade Runner for the win.

Post match, White to the microphone and told Hangman Adam Page he’s one of two men who knocked him off his path to the AEW World Championship. Meaning Page is one of two wrongs that White must right and asks what Page is going to do about it? White imagines that Page will come around guns blazing, veins popping out of his head, as it’s perfect, it’s what White wants, he wants Hangman vs. Switchblade once more. When White wins, he’ll move onto correcting wrong number two and move onto the gold. White said it’s funny the same voices who booed and despised him are the same voices who will Switchblade Jay White, AEW World Champion, as it all starts with Hangman this Saturday at WrestleDream.

-HOOK is backstage with a camera crew and said he’s tired of chasing whoever attacked his father. Kip Sabian stumbled into HOOK and said it wasn’t him before walking off. Christian Cage, Nick & Mother Wayne approached and said they’re both family men. Cage said he lost Killswitch to a serious medical situation and gives HOOK condolences on the injury to his father. Cage and company walk off with HOOK fuming.

**********

-Renee Paquette is with Mariah May backstage when Willow Nightingale charged in with a Pounce, sending May flying. Nightingale said she’ll keep this brief, she defeated three former Women’s Champions tonight and come Saturday, she’ll beat another and win the AEW Women’s Title.

Mercedes Mone (w/Kamille) defeated Emi Sakura to retain the TBS & NJPW Strong Women’s Titles

(This was Sakura’s first match in AEW since April, so it took a little bit for the crowd to get behind her, but when she took out both Mone & Kamille outside with a dive, she won them over. I wish the match itself went longer, but it felt like this was the weekly match that suffered from commercial. It just felt like it was getting going before Mone got the submission, which I hope is her permanent finisher going forward and the Mone Maker is shelved for a bit.)

Both ladies took turns backing the other into the corner and firing off chops, as it was Sakura who connected on the machine gun variety. Sakura looked to go for a cover, but Mone kicked out even before one. Both up and collide until Mone scales the corner with an arm drag, only to run into a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker by Sakura. Mone side stepped a corner charge, swept the leg out to the outside, where she hit a Meteora off the steps taking things to commercial.

Back from break, Sakura fired back with chops, but ate a backstabber out of the corner for two. Mone hit the first double knees, tried again, but Sakura moved and Mone flew out to the floor. Sakura zoned in on the legs and hit a splash onto the hung up Mone on the railing. Kamille was driven into the rail as well before splashing both ladies with a charging cross body. Back inside, stalling butterfly backbreaker connected, but Mone rolled to the ropes, clutching to the apron. The ref became distracted placing back the apron, as this allowed Kamille to trip up Sakura, as Mone applied the Statement Maker (former Banks Statement) and got the submission.

Post match, Mone held Sakura for Kamille to attack when Kris Statlander ran out and booted Kamille to the outside as Mone bailed and had to hold back her heater.

-Renee Paquette is backstage with Private Party, as she also brings in Stokely Hathaway, who said he’s been watching the past few weeks and every time they get an opportunity, they knock it out of the park. Hathaway brings up taking out the most loveable person in AEW at All In and imagine what Private Party could do? Hathaway offers a hand, but Quen said it’s another person who jumped on the bandwagon after two weeks and questions where he was at the last five years? They turn Hathaway down, who said he doesn’t believe it’s the right call, but walks away. Quen said they don’t need anyone in their corner, they want this, they need this, they’ll take the Tag Team Titles away from The Young Bucks and then, it’ll be a party everyone is invited to.

Will Ospreay Demands Answers From Don Callis

Tony Schiavone welcomed International Champion Will Ospreay to the ring to a loud ovation and brings up last week with Konosuke Takeshita interfering in his match with Ricochet. Schiavone said this has Don Callis’ fingerprints all over it and Ospreay agrees. Ospreay puts over Ricochet before saying Takeshita doesn’t do anything without Callis giving him the go ahead, so he wants answers from Callis right now.

Don Callis walks out, tries a hug, but Ospreay pushes him off. Callis said he has something important to say to Ospreay, last week was difficult for him emotionally, as he hates to see Ospreay unhappy. Callis brings up when both he & Ospreay beat Kenny Omega or when they beat Chris Jericho. Ospreay said they’re here to talk about last week not last year and wants to know if Callis sent Takeshita. Callis kept dodging the questions before finally giving in saying he made the call out of frustration, as Ospreay wouldn’t listen. Callis had to shown him who made decisions in the Family. Callis brings up two weeks ago for being this close to winning the Tag Titles because Ospreay was mentally weak. Ospreay said he brought Callis the International Title, but if Callis didn’t stick his nose in his business, he would’ve been the AEW World Champion as well.

Ospreay tells Callis he doesn’t know shit. Callis said he had the best wrestler in the world (Kenny Omega), but threw him in the garbage for Ospreay, so maybe he should throw the best in the trash one more time? Ospreay said Callis is everything everyone warned him about, he’s utter scum, they’re done. Callis slapped Ospreay and Ospreay threw down Callis before Takeshita hit the ring and the fight was on. Kyle Fletcher hit the ring, trying to talk sense into Ospreay, but the distraction allowed Takeshita to hit a release German suplex. Callis handed Fletcher the screwdriver, but Fletcher refused. Takeshita tried to talk sense into Fletcher, who stormed off and Ospreay continued to fight with Takeshita until Callis pulled his hair back, holding him long enough for Takeshita to hit a big forearm. Takeshita went for the belt shot when Ricochet ran out with a springboard forearm, as Takeshita & Callis bailed. Ricochet held up the International Title before handing it to Ospreay.

-Top Flight & Action Andretti are backstage, pissed off that they lost on Collision this past week, not wrestling The Young Bucks on Saturday. Andretti tried to scold Top Flight when Leila Grey said it’s all Andretti’s fault, as his actions screwed them. Dante told Darius it’s those things that are going to continue to cost them and left with Leila, leaving Darius conflicted.

**********

-Jack Perry is sitting in the back and said Katsuyori Shibata is considered a legend, the embodiment of fighting spirit who has a turkey leg in his trunks. Perry said Shibata lets his phone do the talking, but wants to speak Shibata’s old language, fighting in the ring. Shibata might deserve to be TNT Champion, but it’s not about what you deserve, it’s what you’re willing to take. This TNT Title means that Perry is the best and for Shibata to come take it from him.

AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson & AEW Trios Champion Wheeler Yuta defeated AEW Trios Champions Claudio Castagnoli & PAC

(Real good main event with the crowd fully behind Danielson & Yuta. The story of Castagnoli holding back as long as he could from striking Yuta, only to finally give in post-match was a nice touch and proved a point that Yuta should’ve joined them to begin with. Danielson getting to stand tall to close the show could be the final time he does so, as commentary really put over the possibility of his career ending on Saturday.)

The Final Countdown played for Danielson & Yuta, as commentary questions the significance, as this could be the last time Danielson wrestles on Dynamite. Danielson took out Castagnoli on the apron with a running knee, as he backflipped out of the corner to avoid PAC, hit a suicide dive on Castagnoli before Yuta flew in with a top rope dropkick on PAC. Both Danielson & Yuta hit double dives before back inside, Danielson applied a surfboard, as fast tags from he & Yuta kept PAC in the corner. PAC went for the eyes, as this allowed Castagnoli to make the tag and go after Danielson, isolating him. Yuta managed a tag and ran wild, as a snap German on PAC got a near fall, but Yuta held on into Cattle Mutilation. Castagnoli broke the hold, pulling Yuta up, as Yuta slapped him, but Castagnoli held back from throwing a punch. Danielson ran in with an attack, tried another dive, but Castagnoli caught him in mid-air and hit a Neutralizer as PAC fired a thrust kick on Yuta to take over during commercial.

Back from break, Castagnoli tried his best to keep Yuta grounded without throwing strikes, as Yuta tried a tag, but Danielson was still down outside, allowing Castagnoli to hit a release German on Yuta. PAC made sure Danielson was still down at the ramp, but the delay allowed Yuta to hit a thrust kick off a springboard for the reset. A frustrated Castagnoli didn’t want to make the hot tag, but knew he had to. Yuta tried to fight off, biting Castagnoli’s hands and hitting a Tornado DDT before Danielson recovered enough as Yuta stumbled to his corner for the hot tag.

Danielson flew off the top with a missile dropkick followed by corner charging dropkicks, kicks and chops. Corner hurricanrana attempt was blocked, as Castagnoli tried an Avalanche Ricola Bomb, but Danielson countered into the hurricanrana. Yes Kicks connect, as Danielson calls to kick Castanoli’s head in, as he stomps down repeatedly until PAC broke it up, looked for a brainbsuter, but Danielson slammed him down by the shoulder. Uppercut to the neck by Castagnoli, who tried another, but Danielson got a backslide for two. Danielson wanted the finish until he spotted Jon Moxley & Marina Shafir ringside, which allowed Castagnoli to hit an uppercut and 450 Splash by PAC for two. Shafir took the ref, as PAC quickly went for the ring attendant hammer, but Yuta disarmed him. Danielson was up and locked PAC in the LeBell Lock and PAC submitted.

Post match, Danielson immediately hit a dive onto Moxley and brawled up the ramp. Castagnoli & Yuta argued on the apron, as PAC kicked Yuta to the floor, where Shafir beat him up. Backstage, the fight continued with Danielson & Moxley, as Danielson threw Moxley into the garage door. Castagnoli, with the hammer in his hand, told Shafir & PAC to hold up Yuta, who he hit in the gut with the hammer repeatedly. Danielson & Moxley brawled back to the ring, as PAC was sent flying and Castagnoli ate the Busiaku Knee, with Moxley sent tumbling up the ramp to Shafir as Danielson stood tall before tending to Yuta, helping him up to end the show right as The Final Countdown was playing.

Danielson & Yuta vs. Castagnoli & PAC set for AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday

The Blackpool Combat Club will officially implode on next week’s Title Tuesday edition of AEW Dynamite as AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson will team with Wheeler Yuta against Claudio Castagnoli & PAC.

The challenge was made following the main event of Wednesday’s fifth anniversary episode of Dynamite when Jon Moxley, Castagnoli and PAC attacked Danielson following his successful title defense over Kazuchika Okada.

Yuta came out to fend off the three men with a hammer as they eventually backed away. He then took to the microphone to say if Castagnoli and PAC wanted to get to Danielson, they would have to go through him. Danielson then suggested the match take place this Tuesday.

Danielson will defend his title against Moxley in the main event of this month’s WrestleDream in Tacoma, Washington, while Castagnoli, Yuta and PAC are the reigning AEW Trios Champions. After they jumped Danielson at last month’s All Out, Yuta fell out of favor with the group when he didn’t want to do the same.

It’s the first match announced for the live Tuesday show in Spokane, Washington.

Hikaru Shida wins AEW Women’s Championship at Dynamite Title Tuesday

Hikaru Shida is the new AEW Women’s World Champion.

Shida defeated Saraya at Dynamite Title Tuesday to become the first three-time AEW Women’s World Champion, securing the victory after Ruby Soho’s interference attempt was thwarted by “Timeless” Toni Storm.

Soho attempted to spray paint in Shida’s face early in the contest, but Shida reversed the attack. Storm then ran in and attacked Soho with shoes and the two fought off.

With the interference negated, Shida kicked out of two Knight Caps from Saraya, then avoided a third and cradled her to capture the Women’s World Championship.

Saraya’s first reign with the AEW Women’s World title ends at 45 days. She pinned Storm in a four-way match also involving Shida & Britt Baker at All In on August 27 to win the title.

With the victory, Shida establishes the record for most Women’s World title wins in company history, and will build on her record of 397 total days holding the belt.

Shida’s victory marked the second championship change at Title Tuesday, as Orange Cassidy defeated Rey Fenix to win the International Championship earlier in the evening.

Our full report from Title Tuesday can be found here.

Orange Cassidy defeats Rey Fenix for AEW International Championship

Orange Cassidy is once again the AEW International Champion.

Serving as a last-minute substitute after Jon Moxley was not medically cleared to compete for the International Championship, Cassidy defeated Rey Fenix to win the title at Dynamite Title Tuesday.

Cassidy used an Orange Punch and his Mouse Trap pinning combination to defeat Fenix and claim the International title for a second time on Tuesday, ending Fenix’s unplanned title reign.

Fenix won the title from Moxley at Dynamite Grand Slam on September 20 in a bout where Moxley was scheduled to win, but suffered a concussion and changed the match finish in the ring. Moxley has still not been medically cleared to compete after his injury.

Fenix defended the title on each Dynamite episode since Grand Slam, securing wins over Jeff Jarrett and Nick Jackson in successful title defenses before dropping the belt to Cassidy.

Cassidy’s initial International title reign stretched for 326 days and 31 defenses after defeating PAC for the belt on Dynamite in October 2022. His first reign came to an end at All Out on September 3 of this year where he lost to Moxley in the pay-per-view main event.

Jon Moxley not medically cleared for AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday

AEW has announced that Jon Moxley was not medically cleared to compete at Dynamite Title Tuesday.

Company owner Tony Khan addressed Moxley’s status for Dynamite during The Buy-In pre-show on YouTube, stating that while Moxley is on the road to recovery, AEW doctors would not clear him to compete as scheduled against Rey Fenix in an International Championship match. Instead, Orange Cassidy was revealed as the substitute challenger for Fenix’s title.

Moxley was injured in a match against Fenix at Dynamite Grand Slam on September 20. It was reported that he had suffered a mild concussion in his match against Fenix that night. Moxley called an audible and changed the finish of that bout on the fly, making the decision to put Fenix over for the title in a bout that Moxley was set to win.

Moxley was also unable to compete at a Wrestling Revolver event this past weekend where he had been scheduled to take on Gringo Loco. Rich Swann substituted for Moxley in that match. Moxley did appear in front of the live crowd at the event.

AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday live results: Adam Copeland’s in-ring debut

Adam Copeland will have his first AEW match on tonight’s Title Tuesday edition of Dynamite.

After making a surprise debut at WrestleDream, Copeland will take on Luchasaurus. TNT Champion Christian Cage will also explain his actions to Copeland after the two had an in-ring confrontation last week.

A new number one contender to his TNT title will be decided when Bryan Danielson faces Swerve Strickland.

The AEW International Championship will be on the line as Rey Fenix defends against Jon Moxley in a rematch while AEW Women’s World Champion Saraya will defend against Hikaru Shida.

Jay White will be in action against Hangman Page while Chris Jericho goes one-on-one with the newest member of The Don Callis Family, Powerhouse Hobbs.

AEW World Champion MJF and Toni Storm will also make appearances.

On The Buy-In at 7:30 PM Eastern on AEW’s YouTube & social media channels, Eddie Kingston defends both the ROH World and NJPW Strong Openweight titles against Minoru Suzuki.

Buy In

The Wrestle Aunts, Renee Paquette & RJ City welcome us on stage to the Title Tuesday Buy In and run down the card, including a 10 minute overrun. They throw it to Excalibur, Taz & Tony Schiavone and we’re ready for our opening contest of the evening.

Eddie Kingston defeated Minoru Suzuki to retain the ROH World & NJPW Strong Openweight Titles

(If you like two fellas beating the crap out of one another, this was the match for you. In fact I enjoy just that, so I thought this was an excellent kick off this evening, with both men’s chests bright red at the end of this. Kingston threw everything he had at Suzuki, who was able to take a lot of punishment. I enjoyed the post match, as trading a few more chops for the road was quite the way to end this.)

Kingston immediately lowered the straps and started with a chop battle, as both men are connecting flush after each shot, but neither going down. Suzuki smiled and starched Kingston with a forearm before doing it again, as Kingston fell like a mannequin. Suzuki allowed Kingston to recover and throw chops as we see Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh, Sonjay Dutt and Jeff & Karen Jarrett all watching backstage. Suzuki connected on a forearm that caused Kingston to crumble again, but finally able to fire himself up, Suzuki was rocked to the corner and Kingston unleashed the machine gun chops multiple times, which Suzuki no sold repeatedly. Everything Kingston threw, Suzuki absorbed before finally dropping Suzuki with an Exploder for two.

Suzuki avoided the back fist and followed with a corner boot and multiple PKs, which Kingston sat right up from before a misdirect PK got Suzuki two. Both men have another extended chop battle with their chest getting more bright red by the shot. Taz referred to Suzuki as Crazy Grandpa Jones as he lit up Kingston with a strike combo, locking in the Rear Naked Choke, but Kingston fought out of a Gotch piledriver and hit the back fist for a close two. Kingston connected on another back fist, but this time Suzuki kicked out at one. Suzuki absorbed two more back fists, but Kingston switched it up with an enzugiri and Northern Lights Bomb to get the pin.

Post match, Suzuki got back in the ring and showed a sign of respect as both men slapped each other one final time before hugging. Kingston, always classy, gave Suzuki the ring in respect, as Kingston went over to commentary and plugged Dynamite before hugging Taz, high fiving Renee Paquette and flipping off RJ City for good measure.

-Renee Paquette threw it backstage to Tony Schiavone who is with Tony Khan to address the International Title match between Rey Fenix & Jon Moxley. Khan said that the AEW doctors haven’t cleared Jon Moxley for tonight’s match. Khan said its still Title Tuesday and Fenix will defend his title tonight. HOOK & Orange Cassidy walked into the shot and HOOK said it needs to be Cassidy, as Khan agreed and Cassidy accepted, wished Khan a Happy Birthday and HOOK gave Khan a chip.

AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday comes on the air with Christian Cage backstage in the production truck saying it’s fitting the biggest episode of Dynamite comes on the air with the biggest star of the company. Cage said he still holds a grudge over Swerve Strickland for costing them their match at Wembley, while a little Birdie told him Bryan Danielson fancies himself as the best wrestler in the world, but Cage’s TNT Title says otherwise. Before Luchasaurus vs. Adam Copeland tonight, Cage might have to elaborate on the three words he left Copeland hanging on last week. Cage took credit for the first 30 minutes of Dynamite being commercial free.

Excalibur welcomes us alongside Tony Schiavone and Taz as we go right to our number one contenders match for the TNT Title.

Bryan Danielson defeated Swerve Strickland (w/Prince Nana) to become #1 Contender for the TNT Title

(The chemistry these two had, you would’ve never believed it was a first time meeting, as this was phenomenal, with the crowd on their feet and multiple This Is Awesome chants throughout. The ending was a nice callback to Strickland nearly stealing another win, but a former foe refused to sit by and watch that happen. As a result, Danielson will now face Christian Cage this Saturday on Collision for the TNT Title.)

A test of strength starts things off with Danielson hitting a monkey flip, with both men spinning out into a face off. Danielson shot for a knee bar, but Strickland escaped in the ropes, as both men slapped each other. Strickland got a misdirect trip up, which led to multiple pin attempts into another stalemate. Strickland managed a cheap shot, as Danielson was sent to the apron, where they traded chops before Strickland hit a side suplex on the edge of the ring. Strickland hit a diving uppercut to the lower back, followed by a powerslam and brainbuster for a near fall, as Danielson was hooked in a chicken wing. Danielson tried a high kick, but Strickland caught it and countered into a cradle back breaker.

Strickland went for a 450 Splash, but Danielson got the knees up and Strickland was forced to regroup outside, where he was met with a diving Danielson knee off the apron. Danielson connected with a missile dropkick, sold the bad ribs briefly before unleashing the Yes Kicks. Danielson did his moonsault out of the corner, went for a charge, but Strickland punted him right in the ribs and cut off a Danielson dive to regain control. Danielson was hung up in the Tree of Woe and Strickland hit a violent Swerve Stomp onto the ring apron. Danielson anticipated a Swerve Stomp back in the ring and countered into a single leg crab, transitioning into a heel hook.

Danielson took too long going up top, as Strickland tried a superplex, but Danielson pulled the rug out from under him and hit an avalanche back suplex. Danielson wanted to kick Strickland’s head in, as stomps poured down onto Strickland’s face before switching to the LeBell Lock, but Strickland got a foot on the rope. Danielson hit one of his corner dropkicks before crumbling due to the ribs, allowing Strickland to hit the House Call and Swerve Stomp for a super close two. Strickland followed with an impressive counter to a float over in the corner into a sit out slam as Prince Nana distracted ref Aubrey. Strickland got his crown until Hangman Adam Page showed up and ripped it away, refusing for Strickland to steal a win similar to their match at WrestleDream. Danielson countered the JML Driver into a roll up for two, but popped up and hit the Busiaku Knee for the victory.

-Another video package of Samoa Joe is shown, who is the current ROH TV Champion and soon to be AEW World Champion. Joe said Collision begins his road to gold and why he is violence manifest. Joe begins his ascension towards greatness this Saturday.

Powerhouse Hobbs (w/Don Callis) defeated Chris Jericho

(I say defeated, but it was more like demolished. What a way to kick off Hobbs’ tenure in the Don Callis Family with complete and utter destruction of Jericho here. While Jericho got off a few shots, this was 98% Hobbs, who needed a showing like this to make him into the monster of Callis Family.)

Hobbs wasted no time unloading corner strikes and planted Jericho with a spinebuster for an early near fall. Hobbs took his time, connecting with more punches in bunches and another spinebuster, as Callis is demanding Jericho beg for his life. Hobbs hit a violent headbutt and sledgehammer blows before hitting a third spinebuster. Callis yelled that the end is coming for Jericho, as a fourth spinebuster connected. Jericho managed some forearms and dodged a charging Hobbs in the corner to hit a Code Breaker for two. After more punches, Hobbs hit the fifth spinebuster, but Jericho avoided a powerslam and got a few chop blocks, leading to the Walls of Jericho. Hobbs rolled and used his power to escape and rise up, leading to a World’s Strongest Slam for two. Hobbs hit another slam, put his knee on the face of Jericho and got the pinfall in an absolute dominant performance. For good measure, post match, Hobbs hit one more Strongest Slam to stand tall.

-Adam Cole is shown with Roderick Strong & The Kingdom once again, this time with Strong demanding Cole cut his lawn before getting surgery. Cole is mowing the grass on one leg, as Cole finished and said he needed to go change. Strong said he had something for Cole, which was a Neck Strong shirt. Cole asked Taven why he had a stuffed giraffe and Taven said the giraffe had the strongest neck. Cole wanted to watch Dynamite, but Strong said TV is the devil. Cole said he’s going to get surgery on his ankle, but Strong needed one more thing, which we never found out what that was.

Orange Cassidy defeated Rey Fenix (w/Alex Abrahantes) to win the AEW International Title

(This was a sprint if there ever was one, as I definitely didn’t expect Cassidy to regain the title, let alone compete for it to start the night. Fenix has really been banged up ever since winning the title, so this switch makes total sense. I just hope Cassidy stays healthy during his second title reign.)

Cassidy wasted no time unloading forearms, Fenix was there with a lariats, tried a German suplex, but the back gave way early. Cassidy missed a charge in the ropes, allowing Fenix to hit a rope walk punt kick to the arm for two. Fenix hit a thrust kick and massive Frog Splash for a close near fall. Fenix sold the back once again, as Cassidy sent him outside and chucked Fenix into the railing and ring post repeatedly. Fenix went to the apron, but Cassidy swept the leg out and Fenix landed right on his head. Back in the ring, Cassidy went to the ropes, but was cut off, as Fenix wanted a Muscle Buster, but the back gave out, with Cassidy hitting diving and Tornado DDTs, spiking Fenix for two. Fenix avoided Orange Punch, tried the rolling Cutter, but once again the back stopped it from happening. Cassidy hit the Beach Break for two, but quick to follow up, hit the Orange Punch and Mouse Trap to get the pin and regain the title.

Post match, Best Friends, Rocky Romero & HOOK all came to ringside and celebrated with Cassidy, who is now a two time International Champion.

-RJ City is backstage with “Timeless” Toni Storm, who said she’s made her own short film entitled Lover’s Lament, which is a silent picture. Who needs all the noise when you have faces? This happened during picture in picture and needs to be seen to be believed as it’s actually brilliant for something to maintain viewers during commercial.

Wardlow defeated Matt Sydal

Similar to the destruction of Griff Garrison last week, Wardlow hit multiple shoulder tackles in the corner and four powerbombs for the referee stoppage. Wardlow again left through the crowd.

-Renee Paquette checks on Chris Jericho backstage with the doctor when Daniel Garcia wants to know how he’s feeling, but Matt Menard stops him, saying they’re better than this.

Switchblade Jay White (w/Bullet Club Gold) defeated Hangman Adam Page

(As great of a match as I thought this was, you almost knew there was going to be a screwy finish due to what Page did earlier in the night to Swerve Strickland. Mogul Embassy got their revenge, as White got his hand raised after an excellent back and forth match that was almost entirely interference free, aside from the concluded.)

I should point out Juice Robinson & The Gunns, all rode to the ring on tricycles with Robinson having Card Blade in tow, which I believe they’re selling now at the merch stand. White took turns slapping Page in the face and bailing outside, as Page had enough and hit a slingshot dive to take control into picture in picture.

We returned to White hitting a dragon screw and did some air guitar to mock Hiroshi Tanahashi, as Page responded with a series of chops and Death Valley Driver for the double down. More heavy shots by Page, who connects on the fall away slam, kip up and running Shooting Star Press for two. White rolled outside and dodged a slingshot cross body, but Page managed to stay in control with a powerbomb on the apron. Page got a super close two with a sit out powerbomb back in the ring, but White escaped Dead Eye by going after the leg again, this time following up with a suplex into the corner. To the apron they go, where White hit a knee breaker on the edge of the ring before things go to a second commercial break.

Both men battled to the top rope and Page connected on an avalanche fall away slam, but came up clutching his knee in the process. The delay allowed White to recover, get a knee breaker and Uranage for two. White wanted a half and half, but Page countered with forearms and a Buckshot attempt, which White cut off with a dragon screw between the ropes. White wanted an avalanche Uranage, but Page guillotined him on the ropes in the process, allowing Page to hit a moonsault to the floor. Back inside, White suckered Page in with a Flatliner, German and Sleeper Suplex, which Page no sold into a wild lariat for the reset.

Page went for the Buckshot, but his leg gave out, as White wanted Blade Runner, as Page spun out into Dead Eye for two. Bullet Club Gold ran distraction long enough for Prince Nana to appear and try to use his crown, but Page avoided it. This let White get a school boy and steal the win.

Post match, MJF came to the stage and demanded White give back the Triple B, as White said no one wants to hear from MJF anymore, fans want to hear from J-AY-WHITE. The crowd disrespectfully told White to shut up, as he said he was going to give the belt back, but since the crowd is so rude, he’s not going to. MJF said he knows White better than he knows himself since he’s similar to whom MJF used to be. White doesn’t care about Robinson & The Gunns and he’s using them, as its right out of the MJF playbook. MJF hates he’s trying to be a better man, but for the first time in his life, he’s not waking up punching a mirror and has earned the fans respect.

There are two things in this life MJF cares about, that’s Adam Cole and the AEW Title, his legacy. MJF knows White is next level, but that day is not today and demand White give back what he didn’t earn. This sent Robinson into convulsions as White said you have to earn the belt back, which he can, come Full Gear. White said MJF could just come and take the belt, but he has no friends. Juice Robinson brings up the Dynamite Dozen Battle Royal next week, enters the match and says they’re taking MJF’s precious diamond ring. Robinson brought out a roll of quarters and said he’ll break MJF’s jaw next week, as MJF stormed off, with commentary bringing up how MJF was bullied as a child and said Robinson went too far, which, I agree, I know Robinson uses quarters in his matches, but I don’t think that was necessary, especially with everything going on in the news right now.

-During commercial, we got Act II of “Timeless” Toni Storm’s silent film Lover’s Lament.

**********

Hikaru Shida defeated Saraya to win the AEW Women’s Title

(Shida becomes the first ever three time Women’s Champion, as there were a few times at the end of this one where I thought we’d get our standard Outcasts shenanigans victory. Thankfully, Saraya’s plan backfired and Shida was able to get the victory in what turned into a solid match.)

After some early shots and jaw jacking with the crowd, Saraya was caught with a charging Shida knee in the corner. Saraya escaped corner punches, but posed and ate an enzugiri to the floor, where she cried out for Ruby Soho, who is banned from the ring. Both ladies scrap back in the ring until Shida locked on a Torture Rack before slamming Saraya down. A masked person appeared ringside, which Shida quickly unmasked to be Ruby Soho and spray painted her in the face. Toni Storm hit the ring and whacked Soho repeatedly with shoes, spilling into the crowd. Shida was left distracted by all of this, allowing Saraya to take control during picture in picture.

Shida battled back with a running knee strike and hit twenty corner punches before hitting a missile dropkick for two. Shida wanted a suplex from the apron back in the ring, but Saraya countered with an arm drag onto the edge of the apron. Saraya once again trash talked too long, allowing Shida to hit a stalling German on the apron and Meteora to the floor. Back inside, Shida hit the running knee, but Saraya kicked out. Saraya blocked the Kitana, but couldn’t avoid the question mark kick, as Shida went up top, but ate a thrust kick and Knight Cap for two. Saraya grabbed the spray paint and kendo stick, as Paul Turner took the stick away, as Saraya sprayed Shida and hit another Knight Cap for two. Saraya wanted a third Knight Cap, but Shida countered into a Falcon’s Arrow. Both ladies traded near falls before Shida got the deep cover and flash pin to win the title.

-Excalibur informs us Chris Jericho has been taken to a medical facility due to his injuries from Powerhouse Hobbs. Tony Schiavone then said 50,000 AEW toys, 1 million dollars, will be donated to Toys For Tots.

-Don Callis said he requested 10 minutes to talk about what happened tonight, but since he’s been denied, he did picture in picture with Konosuke Takeshita doing Sammy Guevara’s sign gimmick. They pretty much held up signs saying how Hobbs destroyed Kenny Omega & Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara will be back soon.

**********

-Renee Paquette is backstage with MJF and asks for comments about what went on tonight. MJF said he’d usually freak out on her, but he just wants to talk to his boy and called Adam Cole, who picked up, much to the surprise of MJF. Cole said he’s still with Roderick Strong and they’re in the middle of nowhere, so the connection kept cutting out. The call dropped as The Acclaimed & Daddy Ass walked up and offered to team up with him against Bullet Club Gold. MJF walked off and Daddy Ass asked what Caster’s infatuation was with MJF and Caster said they’ve been friends for 10 years, trained together and likes that Max plays hard to get.

Before tonight’s main event, Christian Cage came to the ring with Luchasaurus and told the fans to keep the noise down as he conducts business. Unlike the Chiefs, Cage doesn’t need extra help to get his wins. Cage said it was interesting that Adam Copeland said Luchasaurus & Nick Wayne will turn on him, when he tried to take a group and dress them like Halloween. While Copeland viewed himself as a leader, Cage is Luchasaurus & Wayne’s father. Cage was held back while Copeland was pushed to the moon. While Copeland’s career is on the down slope, Cage’s is on the rise and Copeland needs him, not the other way around. Cage has lots of fans around the world, including Copeland’s wife, Beth. Cage told her to put some clean sheets on the bed, also telling Copeland’s children Lyric & Ruby that their new father is coming home.

Adam Copeland defeated Luchasaurus (w/Nick Wayne)

(The crowd was really in support of Copeland in his debut, as he gave Luchasaurus a lot of offense here and fought from behind for a majority of this. Copeland was able to string together some of his greatest hits and made the interference backfire on Cage & his crew. The chaos post match showed just how many matches AEW has on tap in the future.)

Copeland sprinted to the ring and was face to face with Luchasaurus when Nick Wayne appeared and grabbed the leg, allowing Luchasaurus to hit his lariat to the back of the neck. Copeland demanded referee Bryce to start the match, as Luchasaurus hit a short arm lariat and Tombstone for a close two count. Luchasaurus slowly picked apart Copeland, who made his comeback with a series of elbow strikes until Luchasaurus lit him up with a corner combo. Copeland again tried to get something going, but ran right into a thrust kick heading into picture in picture.

After Luchasaurus controlled the entire break, Copeland finally fought back with a diving DDT off the apron to the outside and cross body block to the back in the ring. Luchasaurus fired off his headbutt shot, tried a chokeslam, which Copeland countered into an Impaler DDT for two. Copeland went up top, as Luchasaurus sat up and hit a big boot, wanting a superplex to the floor onto the set up ring steps, which Copeland thankfully fought out of. Ten clubbing blows led to a massive superplex from Copeland, as Cage ran disctraction long enough for Wayne to wedge a chair in the corner. Copeland missed a corner charge and ran into the chair, as Luchasaurus connected on the chokeslam for a close two, as Cage is furious.

Luchasaurus went for another Extinction lariat, but Copeland ducked and both men collided with big boots into the double down. Copeland charged for a Spear through the ropes onto the steps, but Luchasaurus dragged him to the apron, where Copeland countered into an Edge-O-Matic. Copeland followed with a Spear off the apron and ring steps to the floor. Wayne took the ref, as Cage sprinted to the ring with the TNT Title, which Copeland ripped away and clocked Luchasaurus before handing the title back to Cage. Luchasaurus recovered and thought Cage was the one who hit him, which allowed Copeland to connect with the Spear and get the win.

Post match, Nick Wayne chop blocked Copeland and put the boots to him with Luchasaurus until Bryan Danielson hit the ring to make the save, but the numbers were too much. Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta sprinted out and everything broke down until all the Mogul Embassy ran out to put the heels in control again. Hangman Adam Page ran out and brawled with Swerve Strickland, as it’s all out chaos with Copeland laying out Wayne with a Spear as Cage is left tapping in the LeBell Lock to end the show.

And his ability to make millions of people feel connected, simultaneously by his presence and spoken word— was his gift to the world. If you miss him, know that I do too. Tomorrow is the head-to-head AEW Dynamite and NXT shows. We have a story in the current issue basically handicapping and using last year’s numbers to give an idea of what to expect in the ratings. NXT is doing the first 30 minutes commercial free which also should help and the star power this year is much higher than when they loaded up last year where Shinsuke Nakamura and Rhea Ripley were the biggest names. Both shows are expected to have extended overruns with the idea whoever stays on the longest will get the benefit of people switching over. NXT has Carmelo Hayes vs. Bron Breakker, Asuka vs. Roxanne Perez and Butch & Ridge Holland vs. Mark Coffey & Wolfgang in a pub fight. Scheduled for the show are Undertaker, John Cena, Paul Heyman, Cody Rhodes (making a major announcement), Becky Lynch and others.AEW has Bryan Danielson vs. Swerve Strickland–winner faces Christian Saturday for the TNT title, Saraya vs. Hikaru Shida for the AEW women’s title with Ruby Soho banned from ringside, Rey Fenix vs. Jon Moxley for the International title, Adam Page vs. Jay White, Chris Jericho vs Powerhouse Hobbs and Adam Page vs. Jay White. Also announced is MJF and Toni Storm.

New Japan has a press conference tonight live on New Japan World at 2 a.m. Eastern. They are likely to be announcing a lot of new matches and perhaps the Super Junior tag team tournament. Bushiroad also has a strategy meeting tomorrow involving talent as well as announcements for Stardom and New Japan.
