Number one contenders for AAA Tag Team titles crowned

WWE’s War Raiders have won the number one contender’s match for the AAA Tag Team titles.

In the main event of the February 14th episode of AAA on Fox, the War Raiders competed in a three-way tag-team to determine the new number one contenders.

The duo faced off against Los Americanos (Rayo Americano & Bravo Americano) and Money Machine (Garra de Oro & Colmillo de Plata) for a shot at Pagano and Psycho Clown’s tag titles, and emerged victorious.

Ivar & Erik secured the win by pinning Money Machine. They are now scheduled to face Pagano and Psycho Clown for the titles on an unspecified future date. Tonight’s episode finished with the two teams sharing an intense staredown.

Prior to this, the War Raiders last competed in a losing cause against Los Americanos on the January 5th episode of Main Event.

Los Garza are the new AAA Tag Team Champions.

The co-main event of Sunday’s show in Monterrey had Angel & Berto defeat Sanson & Forestero, Psycho Clown & Pagano, and The Nemeths in a four-way match to win the titles for the first time. The finish had Psycho Clown looking for the win after putting Forastero through a table. However, the Nemeths pulled the referee out of the ring. After Psycho Clown & Pagano responded by diving to the outside, Los Garza came in and hit their finish for the win.

After the win, the hometown heroes received the championships from Marisela Pena as they celebrated their win.

Santos Escobar announced that Los Garza would be competing for the titles last month. In the promo, he said Los Garzas winning the titles would be part of a three-step plan. He said that this plan would also involve him returning to AAA to win the AAA Mega Championship, a title that is currently held by Hijo del Vikingo.

WWE recently held a joint show with AAA, Worlds Collide. On that show, all of Legado Del Fantasma defeated El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr, Pagano, and Psycho Clown in a trios match.

Los Garza to challenge for AAA Tag Team titles at Triplemania Regia

Los Garza are competing for AAA’s Tag Team titles.

During AAA’s live show on Saturday, a video package aired featuring Legado del Fantasma. It was revealed that Angel & Berto would be competing for the AAA Tag Team titles against champions Nueva Generacion Dinamita (Forastero & Sanson) at Triplemania Regia on June 15 in Monterrey.

In the promo, Escobar said that Los Garza winning the titles would be the first step in a three-step plan for Legado Del Fantasma. He also declared he would soon make his return to AAA, and hinted his plans were to challenge for AAA’s top title, the Mega title.  Hijo del Vikingo won that title in the main event of Saturday’s show, defeating Alberto El Patron to become champion for a second time.

Legado Del Fantasma is set to compete at WWE AAA Worlds Collide on June 7, where they will take on Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., Pagano, and Psycho Clown.

Lucha Libre AAA reveals plans for vacant Tag Team titles

The Lucha Libre AAA Tag Team titles won’t be vacant for long.

One day after it was announced that Raj Dhesi & Satnam Singh have vacated the belts due to inactivity, AAA revealed that new champions will be crowned this Saturday at Rey de Reyes 2025. The promotion uploaded a promo from Jeff Jarrett, who stated that he will be bringing the belts with him to the event and defending them alongside a mystery partner. Their opponents have not been named yet.

Jarrett was Dhesi & Singh’s manager when they won the titles last August. A guitar shot from Jarrett to Negro Casas led to that title change, but Dhesi & Singh never appeared for AAA again after their victory.

“I’m going to get on a plane, and I’m going to head to Mexico City,” Jarrett said in his promo directed at AAA authority figure Dorian Roldan. “Rey de Reyes. I’m going to have one over my shoulder, and then I’m bringing a partner that is just perfect for this occasion. Because we’re going to defend those tag titles, whether you like it or not.”

Dhesi (former WWE wrestler Jinder Mahal) & Singh’s AAA Tag Team title win in August 2024 was their first time teaming together, and the two have not teamed up since then. Dhesi is currently a free agent while Singh is signed to AEW.

Psycho Clown & Negro Casas were the tag champions prior to Dhesi & Singh.

Rey de Reyes 2025 will be headlined by Alberto El Patron vs. Hijo del Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship.

Lucha Libre AAA vacates Tag Team titles

Before even making their first defense of the belts, Raj Dhesi & Satnam Singh have vacated the AAA Tag Team titles.

Dhesi (former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal) & Singh were crowned the new champions in a three-way match at Triplemania Mexico City in August 2024. It was their first time ever teaming together — and the two have not teamed up anywhere since then. Lucha Libre AAA announced today that, due to their 214-day period of inactivity, the tag titles are now vacant with new champions to be crowned in the future.

Details regarding how the new champions will be determined have not been announced.

Negro Casas & Psycho Clown were the AAA Tag Team Champions prior to Desi & Singh, who won the belts at Triplemania Mexico City when Jeff Jarrett gave Casas a guitar shot. Dr. Wagner Jr. & Galeno Del Mal were the other team in the three-way match.

Desi is currently a free agent, while Singh is contracted to AEW.

FTR win AAA Tag Team titles on AEW Dynamite

FTR are the new AAA World Tag Team Champions.

They won the titles tonight on Dynamite. FTR at first appeared as masked friends of Andrade El Idolo. During the early part of the match, Rey Fenix and Penta El 0 M unmasked the mystery tag team, revealing themselves as FTR. Towards the end of the match, Tully Blanchard came out to distract the referee. This allowed Dax Harwood to strike Fenix with one of the title belts, then covered him to win the titles for his team.

After the match, a backstage segment made clear that Andrade had paid MJF in order for Andrade to use FTR, who are part of the Pinnacle stable.

FTR ended the Lucha Brothers title reign after 853 days. They won the titles back at Verano de Escandalo on June 16, 2019, defeating the Young Bucks. Fenix and Pentagon most recently defended the AAA Tag Team titles when they defeated El Hijo Del Vikingo and Laredo Kid at AAA’s Heroes Inmortales event on October 9.

Danielson vs. Fish, AAA tag title match added to AEW Dynamite

Three new matches have been added to next week’s AEW Dynamite.

Bryan Danielson will face Bobby Fish in a singles match. Fish made his AEW debut on this week’s show, losing to Sammy Guevara in a match that was for the TNT Championship. AEW confirmed his signing after the show.

The AAA Tag Team titles will also be on the line. Pentagon and Rey Fenix, who also hold the AEW World Tag Team titles, will defend the AAA titles against a mystery masked team who are Andrade el Idolo’s close friends. In a backstage promo that aired last week on Dynamite, Idolo issued the challenge, saying he was going to bring in two men to challenge the Lucha Bros..

The match between Dante Martin and Malakai Black has also been made official. On this week’s Dynamite, Martin had asked for competition, with Black appearing and taking Martin out, saying he accepted his challenge.

AEW will also reveal the brackets for their upcoming World Title Eliminator tournament, with the winner getting an AEW World Championship match. The finals will take place at Full Gear.

Dynamite will not air this Wednesday due to NHL coverage. Instead, it will air live on Saturday, October 16 at the James L. Knight Center in Miami, Florida.

Lucha Bros win AAA tag team titles from The Young Bucks

The Lucha Bros are once again AAA World tag team champions.

They regained the titles this evening from The Young Bucks in the main event of AAA’s Verando de Escandalo event in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. The Bucks had El Hijo Del Tirantes, the company’s heel referee, in their corner but during a moonsault Nick took out both his opponent and Tirantes. A new referee came out to officiate the rest of the match. The Lucha Bros then regained the titles, with Pentagon Jr. pinning Matt after hitting a package piledriver/foot stomp combination.

The Young Bucks defeated the Lucha Bros in an impromptu bout at AAA’s Rey de Reyes event back on March 16 to win the titles for the first time. They successfully retained the titles in a rematch at AEW’s Double or Nothing event on May 25th. The Bucks ended up holding the championships for 93 days.

It was at Rey de Reyes that AAA and AEW announced their new working relationship, with both the Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes making appearances.
