WWE house show ticket prices expected to be ‘far more affordable’ | Exclusive

WWE’s upcoming house shows are expected to have lower ticket prices than the company’s televised events.

On Thursday, WWE announced 10 main roster house shows for July and August. Our own Bryan Alvarez wrote to his subscribers on X that prices for the events are expected to be “far more affordable.”

Alvarez wrote:

“No surprise, but the idea is that WWE house show tickets this summer will be far more affordable.”

Alvarez also discussed the house shows on today’s episode of Wrestling Observer Live.

I guess the number one thing that I heard was the idea is that these are going to be much more affordable shows. So if you’re one of those people that’s been complaining, like, ‘I’d like to take the family to Raw, but my God, these tickets.'”

He also spoke about the value of house shows for wrestlers getting more in-ring experience.

Alvarez said:

“I think that house shows are an important part of professional wrestling. I think that every organization should run house show tours. I think that, you know, if you are not on the main roster of a major company, you should be going out there getting as many dates as you possibly can, obviously. And I’m glad to see that WWE’s got some house show dates.”

The announced WWE house show schedule is below:

Tony Khan gives timeline for Sareee & Persephone to compete in AEW Owen Hart tournament

On Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, the full bracket for the women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament was revealed with several surprises including debuting Japanese stars Sareee and Hazuki in addition to reigning CMLL Women’s Champion Persephone.

However, with Sareee saying Thursday that she was taking a month off for “neck maintenance” and Persephone out of action to the point she had to be pulled from Friday’s ROH Supercard of Honor, it raised questions as to both woman’s health for the tournament that begins next weekend.

AEW head Tony Khan was asked about their status during the Supercard of Honor media call Thursday and said that both are expected to wrestle in the tournament as planned. However, he said their quarterfinal matches will likely take place in June as opposed to right away, noting that the finals of the eight-woman tournament aren’t until late-June at Forbidden Door.

Our Bryan Alvarez reported Thursday after the call that as of Wednesday night, all women in the tournament were expected to compete.

Sareee is scheduled to face Skye Blue while Persephone is slated to go one-on-one with the aforementioned Hazuki of Stardom on the left side. Both matches are on opposite sides of the bracket. Persephone last wrestled on the April 22 Collision in a tag team match after which she was sidelined indefinitely. She was tabbed for the first-ever women’s Survival of the Fittest match at Supercard of Honor before being pulled.

Tony Khan on AEW’s future with Jazwares: ‘It’s possible there could be a change’

AEW head Tony Khan addressed the company’s future with toy manufacturer and designer Jazwares on a media call Thursday, strongly hinting toward a change down the line.

Khan was asked about his relationship with the company by our Dave Meltzer during the Ring of Honor Supercard of Honor media call after a report emerged this week that the entire AEW division of the Jazwares were laid off last Friday.

Khan said AEW has had a great relationship with Jazwares for many years, but “I do think it’s possible there could be a change and that could potentially be a positive change for AEW and the fans” before saying he couldn’t comment any further beyond what he already said.

The two sides have been working together since 2020, but rumors about issues began in September 2024 on Reddit, resulting in Jazwares Chief Brand Officer Jeremy Padawer telling Matt Cardona’s Major Wrestling Figure Podcast in a statement that “we are making AEW product in 2026.”

Update on Sareee’s Owen Hart tournament status | Exclusive

An update is available regarding Sareee’s status for the Owen Hart Foundation tournament.

Sareee was announced as part of the brackets on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, and is scheduled to face Skye Blue in the opening round.

On Thursday, it was announced that Sareee will be taking approximately one month off for “neck maintenance.”Marigold announced Sareee has been pulled from the lineup for this Saturday’s show at Korakuen Hall.

Bryan Alvarez updated his subscribers on X about the situation, writing that despite Sareee being pulled from Marigold’s upcoming event, she is still expected to participate in the tournament.

Alvarez wrote:

“Regarding Sareee, all I know is that as of last night during the show, all the names in the bracket were believed to be participating in the tournament.”

Sareee addressed her status on Thursday, writing:

“As announced, I will be taking approximately one month off for neck maintenance. Having to miss matches that were already scheduled, I am truly sorry for the inconvenience and worry this causes to all the fans and organizations involved. Honestly, it was a decision that took a lot of courage. But I was more afraid of not being able to step into the ring anymore. I made this decision so that I can continue fighting as a professional wrestler from here on out! Please give me just a little time!!”

On today’s ROH Supercard of Honor media call, Tony Khan addressed Sareee’s participation in the Owen Hart tournament, saying her first tournament match is likely not to happen until June.

Update on WWE’s plans for John Cena Classic

New details regarding WWE’s plans for the John Cena Classic have emerged.

On Thursday, WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reported that while no date or venue is currently planned for the show, one source reportedly said holding the event in early December would make “logistical sense” for WWE’s schedule and would also coincide with the one-year anniversary of Cena’s final match against Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

The report also notes that a source at Netflix expressed interest in the event streaming on its platform, but nothing has been determined.

John Cena announces the John Cena Classic

Cena first announced the John Cena Classic at WWE Backlash in Tampa. He said the event would be similar in format to the December 13, 2025 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event, which featured his final match against Gunther. The undercard that night featured main roster stars against NXT wrestlers.

Cena said the John Cena Classic would also involve a fan vote aspect, with fans voting on the winner of the event regardless of whether or not that wrestler won their match.

Lawyers for ‘prolific texter’ Vince McMahon defend use of Signal, alleged missing messages

Even though Vince McMahon didn’t understand “What in the blue hell is ‘Langis’ lol,” his legal team defended his use of the Signal app and other messaging platforms as part of the ongoing WWE shareholders lawsuit.

The communication platform is best known for the ability to not retain a record of messages, hence the difficulty in providing information in lawsuits such as the aforementioned one where a group of shareholders feel McMahon’s decision to enter into an agreement with Endeavor to merge UFC with TKO was pre-determined and thus cost them money.

The plaintiffs filed a motion in April where they claimed “adverse inferences against Defendants related to Defendants’ spoliation of relevant Signal messages and other evidence.”

As noted in a Bloomberg Law article Wednesday, McMahon’s lawyers said there is no gap in traceable communication to be concerned with and that McMahon is “a prolific texter” with 22,000 messages from multiple platforms having already been provided.

From the article:

“McMahon’s attorneys preserved data from his personal devices, even after they were seized by federal authorities investigating sexual misconduct allegations against him, she said. But Signal data sought by the investors wasn’t available for retrieval until after those devices were returned in October 2025.

The investors argue messages apparently missing from chats on Signal, an encrypted platform that can be set to have content disappear, could’ve been relevant to the litigation.

Eric Leon of Latham & Watkins LLP, representing WWE who is also named in the lawsuit, stated, “These parties negotiated this deal really the old fashioned way. They did it with dinners and lunches, and they did it over the phone, and we produced all of the phone records.”

The judge has yet to rule on the motion.

The aforementioned “Langis” reference is to a message McMahon sent to WWE president Nick Khan in February 2023 after Khan wrote “Langis” in reply to McMahon about wanting to have a talk about creative. That exchange took place after Khan said McMahon was no longer involved in creative.

Mexican authorities release statement following Cuatrero domestic violence conviction

Following Tuesday’s conviction of former AAA and CMLL wrestler Cuatrero on domestic violence charges resulting from a March 2023 incident with WWE wrestler Stephanie Vaquer, Mexican authorities released a statement Wednesday about the process to get there.

Cuatrero (Rogelio Reyes) was sentenced to nearly 13 years, two of which have already been served. A report Tuesday stated he could get a reduction in his sentence to another four+ years with Vaquer’s legal side expected to push for a longer overall sentence.

The domestic violence incident took place in March 2023 while Vaquer was wrestling in Mexico and in a relationship with Cuatrero. Vaquer claimed that an argument turned physical with Cuatrero grabbing her violently by the throat and throwing her into a wall, which caused an object to fall off the wall and onto her.

From the statement:

“The Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (Fiscalía CDMX) secured a conviction against Rogelio “N” (Cuatrero) after establishing his guilty verdict in the crimes of attempted femicide and equivalent domestic violence, committed against his former partner, in connection with events that occurred on March 2, 2023.

According to the investigation, Rogelio “N” physically assaulted the victim at a residence in the Colonia Doctores on the Cuauhtémoc borough, causing her various injuries. After the assault, he fled the scene.

“In response to these events, the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (Fiscalía CDMX) launched an investigation and obtained an arrest warrant against Rogelio “N,” which was executed on March 11, 2023, by agents of the Investigative Police (PDI), in coordination with personnel from the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Aguascalientes (FGEA). Subsequently, he was indicted and placed under pretrial detention as a precautionary measure.

“On March 7, 2025, a court modified that precautionary measure and allowed him to continue the criminal proceedings while free under supervision, with the obligation to report weekly, not to approach the victim, and not to practice his profession as a wrestler.

“Once the corresponding procedural stages were completed and following the oral trial, the judicial authority handed down a guilty verdict against Rogelio “N” and imposed a sentence of 12 years and 8 months, in addition to the payment of full compensation for the damages. It also determined that the convicted individual will serve his sentence while remaining free and may continue to practice his profession, under judicial supervision, and must therefore report every three weeks regarding his appearances, venues, and match cards. As part of the protective measures for the victim, the court ruled that he may not participate in events where she is present.

“With this ruling, the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office reaffirms its commitment to combating violence against women through robust investigations with a gender perspective, to ensure victims have access to justice, full reparation for the harm suffered, and protective measures that safeguard their integrity and safety.”

Title vs. hair match official for AEW Double or Nothing

A title vs. hair match is now official for next weekend’s AEW Double or Nothing as Darby Allin will put up his World title against MJF’s much-discussed head of hair.

The match was confirmed after Allin defended the title against Konosuke Takeshita in the main event of Dynamite after which MJF came out to sign the contract to make it official.

After MJF reluctantly signed, he then ran down Allin’s accomplishments and Allin responded in kind. MJF then took him down and knocked him out with his Dynamite diamond ring. He then got back in the ring and nearly hit Allin with a second rope tombstone before Kevin Knight ran in for the save.

It comes a week after Allin said the only way he would give MJF another shot was if he put something up that meant the most to him: his hair. At the onset of Dynamite, it was said Allin wouldn’t defend against MJF ever again if he didn’t agree to the stipulation for Double or Nothing.

It will be a rematch from last month when Allin shocked MJF to win the title in his hometown of Everett, Washington, in a short match. MJF has been trying to get his rematch ever since while Allin has five title defenses already. MJF will be looking for his third title run.

On the left side, CMLL Women’s Champion Persephone will return to action after getting injured in a late-April Collision bout that saw her pulled from this Friday’s ROH Supercard of Honor. She will take on the debuting Hazuki of Stardom who will be making her promotional debut in a first time ever match.

Men’s Owen Hart tournament bracket revealed, two high profile bouts set for AEW Double or Nothing

The eight man bracket for the men’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament were revealed on AEW Dynamite Wednesday with two very high profile matches set for next weekend’s Double or Nothing.

One of those is the first time ever match of Will Ospreay vs. Samoa Joe. Ospreay has had a bumpy road returning from neck surgery, but picked up a win over Ace Austin Wednesday in his first match since aligning with the Death Riders. Joe recently returned from a concussion with a late-April win.

The winner of that match will advance to face the winner of Jack Perry vs. Mark Davis which doesn’t have a date attached yet. Davis defeated Perry for the National title last Saturday at Fairway to Hell to ignite their feud.

The opposite side of the bracket will see Swerve Strickland vs. Bandido in a match that has been teased for several weeks. It’s Strickland’s first match since losing to Kenny Omega in mid-April and his first match against Bandido in AEW.

The winner of that match faces the winner of Brody King vs. Claudio Castagnoli in their third-ever singles match. King picked up a win in the 2023 Continental Classic while Castagnoli got revenge in the 2024 Classic.

The finals will take place at Forbidden Door on Sunday, June 28 in San Jose, California, with the winner presumably earning a future AEW World title shot at August’s All In.

Brian Cage makes surprise return on AEW Dynamite

After a lengthy absence on the injured list, Brian Cage returned to action on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite in a surprise appearance.

Cage answered TNT Champion Kevin Knight’s open challenge, eventually falling in defeat. Cage did keep his alliance in the Don Callis Family, coming out with Lance Archer, Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta.

The 42-year-old last appeared in AEW as part of the March 19 episode of Collision in a trios match. He wrestled for an indie promotion the following night, suffering a serious knee injury against Chris Masters that required surgery.

Cage made his in-ring return last month for an indie promotion, one of three matches he’s had since being cleared to wrestle.

He’s been part of AEW since May 2020’s Double or Nothing when he made his debut in a Casino ladder match. During his time, he’s never held AEW gold but did have an extended run with the ceremonial FTW title in addition to runs as ROH TV Champion and ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champion.
