Following Tuesday’s conviction of former AAA and CMLL wrestler Cuatrero on domestic violence charges resulting from a March 2023 incident with WWE wrestler Stephanie Vaquer, Mexican authorities released a statement Wednesday about the process to get there.
Cuatrero (Rogelio Reyes) was sentenced to nearly 13 years, two of which have already been served. A report Tuesday stated he could get a reduction in his sentence to another four+ years with Vaquer’s legal side expected to push for a longer overall sentence.
The domestic violence incident took place in March 2023 while Vaquer was wrestling in Mexico and in a relationship with Cuatrero. Vaquer claimed that an argument turned physical with Cuatrero grabbing her violently by the throat and throwing her into a wall, which caused an object to fall off the wall and onto her.
From the statement:
“The Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (Fiscalía CDMX) secured a conviction against Rogelio “N” (Cuatrero) after establishing his guilty verdict in the crimes of attempted femicide and equivalent domestic violence, committed against his former partner, in connection with events that occurred on March 2, 2023.
According to the investigation, Rogelio “N” physically assaulted the victim at a residence in the Colonia Doctores on the Cuauhtémoc borough, causing her various injuries. After the assault, he fled the scene.
“In response to these events, the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (Fiscalía CDMX) launched an investigation and obtained an arrest warrant against Rogelio “N,” which was executed on March 11, 2023, by agents of the Investigative Police (PDI), in coordination with personnel from the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Aguascalientes (FGEA). Subsequently, he was indicted and placed under pretrial detention as a precautionary measure.
“On March 7, 2025, a court modified that precautionary measure and allowed him to continue the criminal proceedings while free under supervision, with the obligation to report weekly, not to approach the victim, and not to practice his profession as a wrestler.
“Once the corresponding procedural stages were completed and following the oral trial, the judicial authority handed down a guilty verdict against Rogelio “N” and imposed a sentence of 12 years and 8 months, in addition to the payment of full compensation for the damages. It also determined that the convicted individual will serve his sentence while remaining free and may continue to practice his profession, under judicial supervision, and must therefore report every three weeks regarding his appearances, venues, and match cards. As part of the protective measures for the victim, the court ruled that he may not participate in events where she is present.
“With this ruling, the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office reaffirms its commitment to combating violence against women through robust investigations with a gender perspective, to ensure victims have access to justice, full reparation for the harm suffered, and protective measures that safeguard their integrity and safety.”
Former AAA and CMLL wrestler Cuatrero has been sentenced to more than a decade in prison for attempted femicide against WWE star Stephanie Vaquer.
After being found guilty earlier this month, Cuatrero (Rogelio Reyes) was sentenced today to 12 years and eight months in prison. He has already served two of those years, meaning he has 10 years and eight months left to serve. El Planchitas reports that Cuatrero could potentially only serve four-plus more years if he is able to receive a sentence reduction for good behavior.
El Planchitas adds that Vaquer’s side is expected to appeal for a tougher sentence.
The domestic violence incident took place in March 2023 while Vaquer was wrestling in Mexico and in a relationship with Cuatrero. On International Women’s Day this year, Vaquer shared a message vowing to keep fighting for truth and justice in the case. When the incident first happened, there were people in wrestling who tried to protect Cuatrero and convince Vaquer not to go to the police. One of those was said to be AAA wrestler La Hiedra, who was dating Cuatrero’s brother at the time.
Cuatrero, who is the son of wrestling legend Cien Caras, had gotten out of jail in 2025 as he awaited the resolution of this case. He returned to the ring for indie matches this year.

Stephanie Vaquer’s ex boyfriend Cuatrero has reportedly been found guilty of domestic violence and femicide against the now-WWE star.
Antonio Nieto reports that Cuatero (real name Rogelio Reyes) has been ruled a guilty verdict and he will be officially sentenced on Tuesday, May 12.

The incident in question took place back in March 2023, after which Vaquer officially filed a domestic violence criminal complaint against Reyes. Both were working at CMLL at the time.
TW DOMESTIC VIOLENCE DETAIL: Vaquer alleged that Reyes had forced himself on her, choked her and threw her against a wall. Reyes was then arrested on March 10 and charged with attempted femicide and domestic violence before being released later that month.

Bryan and I will be back tonight with Wrestling Observer radio doing our weekend show. My show with Garrett Gonzales this week was a long interview with Madusa talking about a ton of different subjects on her career as well as her new book.
Rampage for this coming week will air at about 11:30 p.m., after the late night NCAA tournament game. There show the next Friday, 3/24, has been moved to Saturday night at 10 p.m. on 3/25 due to TNT airing U.S vs. Granada soccer.
Cuatrero of the New Generation Dinamitas was arrested for domestic violence involving CMLL wrestler Stephanie Vaquer, who he had a relationship with. He was arrested after the Friday night AAA show in Aguascalientes. Cuatrero is one-third of the trios champions in AAA. Luchablog said that people close to Cuatrero claim he’s got a witness and audio records that will refute her accusations. Cuatrero was charged with domestic violence and femicide.

Chris Weidman did his return to competition after a terrible leg break last night. He competed in a Polaris submission grappling show, losing a decision to Owen Livesey. Livesey landed trips and judo throws to win the decision. Livesey was a British Commonwealth judo champion. Weidman is expected to return to UFC later this year.
The death of Bud Grant, the legendary coach of the Minnesota Vikings and Winnipeg Blue Bombers, at 95, is notable in wrestling as Grant and Verne Gagne were social friend. Grant also appeared at Gagne’s first retirement show in 1981 in Minneapolis. Grant, Gagne and Leo Nomellini were teammates on the University of Minnesota football team and were all stellar multi-sport stars. Gagne was a football star and two-time NCAA champion in wrestling and one of the biggest pro wrestling stars and most notable promoters in history. Nomellini starred in football, wrestling and track (shot, discus and 4×100 relay) and was a Hall of Famer in the NFL and a legit Hall of Fame candidate as a pro wrestler. Grant starred in football, baseball and basketball. Grant actually played two seasons in the NBA and was part of the 1950 championship Minnesota Lakers team with the legendary George Mikan. He was a star wide receiver with the Philadelphia Eagles after switching to football, and was later a star with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. After his career ended he coached the Bombers to four CFL titles and coached the Vikings to four Super Bowls, although they lost all four. He is in both the CFL and NFL Halls of Fame.
Steve Keirn’s autobiography working with Ian Douglass (every Ian Douglass pro wrestling book is good) was released this past weak by Darkstream Press. It basically covers his life through 1987, as he is looking at doing a second book on post-1987 including his yeas as Skinner in WWF, running indie promotions including the FCW developmental system before NXT. I’ve read it and some very interesting insights into the territory system during the 70s and 80s, and in particular Florida and the Grahams.
Carmelo Hayes is a -180 favorite over Bron Breakker and Johnny Gargano is a -160 favorite over Grayson Waller on BetOnline for the 4/1 Stand & Deliver show.

Two CMLL championships have been vacated following three departures from the promotion.
CMLL issued a statement on Tuesday announcing that Nueva Generacion Dinamita (Sanson, El Cuatrero & Forastero) are no longer with the promotion. The group were the CMLL World Trios Champions, but the titles have now been vacated. The CMLL World Middleweight Championship, which was held by Cuatrero, has also been declared vacant.
“CMLL informs that, by mutual agreement, and thus agreeing to the interests of both parties, Sanson, Cuatrero & Forastero cease to belong to the roster of this organization as of today,” CMLL announced. “Due to the above, the CMLL World Trios Championship and the CMLL World Middleweight Championship are declared vacant and the qualifying rounds will be defined shortly to find the new champions.”
Sanson, Cuatrero & Forastero were scheduled to face Hechicero, Gemelo Diablo I & Gemelo Diablo II in the main event of this Friday’s CMLL Arena Mexico show. Volador Jr., Templario & Titan vs. Hechicero, Gemelo Diablo I & Gemelo Diablo II has been announced as the new main event of the show.
