TNA announces re-signing of Steve Maclin

After a storyline where he was briefly “fired” from the promotion, TNA Wrestling has confirmed that Steve Maclin has re-signed with the company.

TNA posted an announcement on Monday saying Maclin has re-signed. No further information about the contract was provided, including whether it’s a long-term deal or not. It was first reported in January that Maclin had extended his contract with TNA.

A former TNA World Champion, Maclin is set to challenge Mike Santana for the title at Sacrifice on March 27. The build to the match included an angle where Maclin was fired from TNA after getting the “fired” briefcase in Feast or Fired. Maclin did not go quietly, though, returning to attack Santana and assault commentator Tom Hannifan. Santana then called for Maclin to be reinstated so he could get his hands on him.

Maclin, a veteran of the United States Marines, previously wrestled for WWE as Steve Cutler. He’s been with TNA since 2021.

Outside of the ring, Maclin co-hosts the podcast Boots to Boots with his wife Deonna Purrazzo. The TNA/AEW couple are putting together an indie event Battle for the Brave this June to benefit the non-profit organization Tunnel to Towers.

Sacrifice 2026 is being held at the Alario Center in Louisiana and will stream on TNA+.

Mance Warner & Steph De Lander make GCW return

Mance Warner and Steph De Lander are back in Game Changer Wrestling.

They made their arrival during the main event of GCW So Alive on Saturday, reuniting with the Second Gear Crew (AJ Gray & Matthew Justice) to fend off VNDL48 (Atticus & Otis Cogar). A six man tag match was then made pitting Second Gear Crew against the Cogars and Christian Napier, with the latter team scoring the victory.

After show, De Lander posted a video on social media referencing she and Warner’s recent departure from TNA.

“I’m not gonna let a businessman with a hat tell me when my career is over. Mance & SDL are back in GCW,” she declared.

It was revealed earlier this week that the two quit the company after De Lander was told by TNA president Carlos Silva that TNA was not going to allow her to wrestle again despite her surgeon fully clearing her to return to in-ring action.

“I received a phone call on Monday of this week that basically they never wanted to let me wrestle at TNA again. They just didn’t feel comfortable with that. So then I made the decision to leave, and my husband did too in solidarity,” she told TMZ.

De Lander previously wrestled for WWE under the name Persia Pirotta. When she was released in 2022, she made her TNA debut the following year and later became associated with Warner when he made his TNA debut last year.

Former Knockouts champion signs contract with Carlos Silva on TNA

Former Impact Knockouts champion Rosemary signed a contract with Carlos Silva on TNA.

On Thursday, during the March 5th episode of TNA Impact, fans witnessed TNA President Carlos Silva waiting with Tommy Dreamer for Rosemary to appear.

However, as the segment moved ahead, fans noticed Dreamer vanish before Rosemary emerged and took her spot next to Silva. The 41-year-old proceeded to bring out a contract and hand it over to Silva, before poking her finger with a pen, leading to blood oozing out.

Rosemary then gave the contract and the pen to Silva, who signed it using the blood ink, without giving it a proper read. However, things took an interesting turn when Rosemary shook hands with Silva, and their hands glowed red in the dark.

The entire vignette had a mysterious and thrilling feeling to it. Although, TNA has yet to explain what Rosemary’s contract was all about. The segment concluded with Rosemary laughing and taking a look at the contract, while a bloodied bunny appeared behind her.

Despite the win tonight, it is currently not confirmed when Myers and Bronson of The System will face Jeff and Matt Hardy for the TNA World Tag Team titles.

Former Knockouts Champion makes surprise appearance on TNA Impact

Former Knockouts World Champion ODB made a surprise appearance on this week’s episode of TNA Impact.

ODB was involved in a segment with the Elegance Brand and the cast of Mama June, the AMC reality show featuring former “Honey Boo Boo” star Mama June Shannon.

The Elegance Brand cut a promo on Mama June and told her to stand in line at a food truck. ODB, who operates ODB’s Meat & Greet food trucks, then came out from the crowd dragging a cooler behind her. The segment ended with ODB and the Mama June cast dumping cocktails all over Heather and M By Elegance.

ODB is a former four-time Knockouts World Champion. The 47-year-old last wrestled for TNA in 2022 at Throwback Throwdown III. Her last appearance on TNA programming took place last September in her home state of Minnesota, where she was announced to the live crowd.

Steph De Lander on TNA exit: ‘They made a personal decision’

Steph De Lander spoke about her departure from TNA Wrestling in a new interview.

De Lander told TMZ on Thursday that TNA president Carlos Silva informed her on Monday that the company was not going to allow her to wrestle again in the promotion following her spinal fusion surgery in October 2024. She added that her surgeon has fully cleared her to return.

“I actually went to WWE’s spinal surgeon to do the surgeries and I got clearance a few weeks ago,” she said.

“I received a phone call on Monday of this week that basically they never wanted to let me wrestle at TNA again. They just didn’t feel comfortable with that. So then I made the decision to leave, and my husband did too in solidarity.”

De Lander said TNA made the call that they were not comfortable with her wrestling again without evaluating her medical history or speaking with her surgeon.

“I was like, ‘Well, I’m literally fully cleared.’ And he said, ‘Yep, not into it.’ And then I asked, ‘Do you know what my injury is?’ And he didn’t know. He couldn’t tell me what my injury was.”

“It’s definitely based off personal feelings. I have not been evaluated by any medical professional on the TNA end.”

“They haven’t evaluated my medical history. They haven’t contacted my surgeon. They haven’t looked at any of my medical stuff. It’s just they made a personal decision.”

De Lander also mentioned during the interview that she had a second surgery that was not previously known, saying that her surgeon “wanted to put a little more hardware” in her neck. She said she paid for both of her surgeries and physical therapy.

“I’ve paid for both of my surgeries. I paid for PT for both of them.”

“My insurance maxed out, so I currently have a $9,000 Advent Health bill sitting there.”

De Lander also mentioned that she had a one-level fusion, something many wrestlers have had before making full recoveries and returning to the ring.

“I had a one level cervical spinal fusion of my C5-C6 vertebrae which is like the most basic straightforward neck injury that so many wrestlers in WWE and AEW have had before fully recovered and returned to the ring.”

“I did not break my neck. That’s not what happened,” she added.

De Lander’s full conversation with TMZ is available below:

Rising indie star Ricky Sosa to make TNA Wrestling debut

Ricky Sosa, an emerging wrestler on the international indie scene, is set to make his TNA Wrestling debut.

Last week, it was announced that Sosa had been pulled from wXw’s upcoming 16 Carat Gold tournament in Germany due to a “major career opportunity.” That opportunity has now been revealed to be this week’s TNA Wrestling events in Atlanta. He’ll be appearing for TNA both Thursday (March 5) and Friday (March 6).

TNA hyped up Sosa as being “one of wrestling’s hottest rising stars” while announcing him for the events. They include tonight’s live episode of Impact and tomorrow’s TV taping.

“Atlanta plays host to one of wrestling’s hottest rising stars, as Ricky Sosa makes his North American debut at the Gateway Center Arena in Atlanta, GA,” the promotion wrote. “Catch him at our events tonight and tomorrow.”

Known as “The Young Savage,” Sosa is a Belgian wrestler who has drawn attention for both his ring work and entrance. WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry is among those who have taken notice of him.

“I don’t know if you guys know Ricky Sosa, but he is going to be an unbelievable talent in the future,” Henry tweeted in January. “He’s young athletic and he’s got that extra thing that you need for pro wrestling.”

Sosa is wXw’s current European Champion. Despite having to pull out of the 16 Carat Gold tournament, he’ll be returning to Germany to compete for wXw this Sunday (March 8).

BVV: TNA Impact is stupid and dumb

Image: TNA Wrestling

The focus of TNA Impact this week was less on wrestling and more on angles and storylines, none of which made the slightest bit of sense.

On this week’s Big Vinny V Show, I go over it all in rich detail.

Why was Alisha Edwards ready to quit, only to suddenly change her mind so she could manage Moose, who is feuding with her husband?

Why is Santino still employed when all of his decisions turn into disasters? Why is Daria Rae, the heel, the one to point out his incompetence, and how is that supposed to make me dislike her?

And for the love of God, why is the show practically built around Steve Maclin, who was supposed to be fired weeks ago? The last question is most important because the live crowd turned on what was supposed to be a main event segment and turned it into a joke.

Along the way, there was some decent wrestling, but it hardly seems relevant. We’ll suffer through it on the Big Vinny V Show!

AJ Styles: I retired so ‘I don’t embarrass myself’

One reason AJ Styles has hung up his gloves: He wanted to go out while he could still deliver in the ring.

On WWE’s Raw Recap with Sam Roberts and Megan Morant, Styles was asked why this was the right time to retire. “I mean, now is the right time to retire so I don’t make a fool out of myself, so I don’t embarrass myself,” he said. “I’m on the verge of doing just that. Now’s the time. It’s not easy, mind you, but it’s the time.”

Styles was also asked about retiring in another promotion, and he reminded everyone that he almost never ended up in WWE in the first place. “Here’s the crazy thing: Had TNA offered me the deal that I had, I would have stayed there,” he said. “So there was that. I was proud of the fact that I helped make a company. I wanted to be there. But, as things would have it, here I am in WWE and I’m grateful for it.”

Styles was part of the first match in TNA history, teaming with Jerry Lynn and Low-Ki in a losing effort against the Flying Elvises of Jimmy Yang & Jorge Estrada & Sonny Siaki. His last match in the promotion was a loss to Magnus (now known as Nick Aldis on WWE SmackDown) in a TNA World Heavyweight Championship match in December of 2013. He has famously said that the contract he was offered at the time would have come with an enormous pay cut.

TNA Knockout re-signs with company

TNA Knockouts star Alisha Edwards is here to stay with the promotion.

Edwards had recently revealed that her contract with TNA was coming up and nearing expiry. On Thursday, during the February 26 episode of TNA Impact, Edwards appeared in a segment with Tommy Dreamer and Carlos Silva, where she ended up re-signing with the promotion.

Edwards opened up to TNA President Silva and creative team member Dreamer about her feelings of not belonging to the promotion. She reflected on the recent incident with The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers, Cedric Alexander & Bear Bronson). Edwards further opened up about departing the promotion.

However, former TNA World Champion and ex-member of The System, Moose, appeared on camera and spoke candidly about why TNA and he still needed Edwards. Shortly afterward, Silva also weighed in, encouraging Edwards to remain with the company. Their words ultimately convinced her to sign a new TNA contract and extend her stay.

BVV: TNA Impact review featuring a guitar case casket match

This past week’s TNA Impact was a pretty forgettable show….except for the main event which featured a stipulation you’re not going to see very often.

Apparently, you can buy a casket shaped like a guitar case and TNA got one to use a blowoff match between Elijah and Mustafa Ali.

And what a blowoff it was as TNA showed how to put a guy over in dominant fashion and make him look like a superstar. Though, there are questions of why they chose this particular guy to do it with.

Elsewhere, Indi Hartwell battled Heather by Elegance, Trey Miguel defended the International title against former champion Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, Jodi Threat faced Tessa Blanchard, and Sinner & Saint returned to take on the new team of Rich Swann & BDE.

Come join the fun on the Big Vinny V Show!

The show went head to head with NBC’s coverage of the Winter Olympics, which also aired on Peacock and the USA Network, and tied for 54th on the primetime cable charts for the night.

Listed below are the overall viewership and 18-49 demo ratings for each episode of TNA Impact that has aired so far on AMC along with the average in both categories. This week’s show was up 9.8% in overall viewers and 25% in 18-49 as opposed to the averages so far.
