BVV: TNA Impact is stupid and dumb

Image: TNA Wrestling

The focus of TNA Impact this week was less on wrestling and more on angles and storylines, none of which made the slightest bit of sense.

On this week’s Big Vinny V Show, I go over it all in rich detail.

Why was Alisha Edwards ready to quit, only to suddenly change her mind so she could manage Moose, who is feuding with her husband?

Why is Santino still employed when all of his decisions turn into disasters? Why is Daria Rae, the heel, the one to point out his incompetence, and how is that supposed to make me dislike her?

And for the love of God, why is the show practically built around Steve Maclin, who was supposed to be fired weeks ago? The last question is most important because the live crowd turned on what was supposed to be a main event segment and turned it into a joke.

Along the way, there was some decent wrestling, but it hardly seems relevant. We’ll suffer through it on the Big Vinny V Show!

BVV: TNA Impact review with build to No Surrender

Heading into the first app special in the AMC era, TNA presented an episode of Impact last Thursday with some good wrestling, some baffling booking, and some insufferable backstage segments.

The good wrestling included Trey Miguel vs. Adam Brooks, Mustafa Ali and Jada Stone shining in a mixed tag team match, and a Knockouts trios match that featured how to work smarter, not harder.

The baffling booking included builds for a bunch of matches and programs that are apparently not going to be a part of No Surrender.

And the backstage segments included several minutes of TV time devoted to a guy who was fired last week and what looked like a deliberate attempt to make the babyface authority figure as unlikeable as possible.

Big Vinny V: TNA Impact review with Joe Hendry injury & Ethan Page’s return

Image: TNA

TNA has brought back an old face to main event their next pay-per-view as former TNA Tag Team Champion and current WWE NXT star Ethan Page has returned to challenge TNA World Champion Joe Hendry at Rebellion.

I get into that on this week’s Big Vinny V Show.

At least, he will be if Hendry is able to compete as TNA announced he had suffered a shoulder injury after a show-opening brawl involving Frankie Kazarian and Elijah, an injury that seems awfully convenient for storyline purposes.

Also announced for Rebellion: Moose defending the X-Division title against some surprising names, and the Nemeths challenging the Hardys for the Tag Team titles. Oh, and we finally have something on the table for Unbreakable too.

We’ll get into the details on this TNA Impact review on the new Big Vinny V Show.

Big Vinny V: Reviewing the Bound for Glory fallout edition of TNA Impact

Image: TNA

TNA Wrestling came out of its biggest show of the year with plenty of questions and on this week’s Big Vinny V Show, I look at whether they answered them on the follow-up edition of Impact.

Can Joe Hendry trust Nic Nemeth or is the TNA World Campion in cahoots with Frankie Kazarian and John Layfield? Where does Mike Santana go after his big win over Moose, and what’s next for the former World Champion after his big loss to Santana? Will challengers arise for the new TNA Tag Team Champions The Hardys?

Big Vinny V: The positives & negatives from the latest TNA Impact

Image: TNA

It’s Tuesday and a TNA pay-per-view week, so it’s time for a new Big Vinny V episode.

The positives of TNA Impact this past week: “Speedball” Mike Bailey and Leon Slater had an excellent X-Division title match, and the Mike Santana vs. Moose program is heating up.

The negatives: Bound For Glory, the promotion’s biggest show of the year, is just around the corner, but the title matches on that show — World Champion Nic Nemeth vs. Joe Hendry; Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace vs. Masha Slamovich; and a three-way Tag Team title match — are cold as a Detroit winter and only getting colder.

Let’s get into it on this week’s Big Vinny V!
