Jey Uso feels WWE is an ‘easier hustle’ than it used to be

Jey Uso believes the life he’s living as a wrestler now is an easier existence than the generations that came before him had.

While joining Cody Rhodes on a new episode of “What Do You Wanna Talk About?,” Uso discussed how meaningful it is to have his father Rikishi so vocally supportive of his career. Becoming a wrestler has given Uso a greater level of appreciation for everything his family went through back in the day. Life as a wrestler can still be hard, but Uso feels the industry is an “easier hustle” than it used to be.

“Just being a wrestler now, and I know today it’s an easier hustle,” Uso said. “And I’m not saying that — this sh*t’s still hard. Being a wrestler, this life is hard. I think when my dad was coming up though, man, he went through the wringer. He’s still alive today. He’s healthy. I know like a lot of people, they’re up next. Everyone’s getting older. Our parents are getting older. We’re getting older, you know. My dad is our biggest fan, though. I cannot lie about that.”

Rhodes agreed that certain aspects of wrestling are easier today. The money is better and you don’t have to take as many bumps, but there are other obligations like personal appearances and media duties that didn’t exist before.

“It’s certainly not the bumping each night and the lighter envelopes, because the money and economy was different for wrestling then, Rhodes said. “But I mean, I watch you walk in here with someone from talent relations telling you what you need to do next and where you need to go. And what was house shows has been replaced by a lot of other things that are equal in an opportunity standpoint. There’s something of value to them. There’s something special. It’s just different. Like, we’re navigating a new hustle.”

Uso and his twin brother Jimmy are currently the World Tag Team Champions in WWE. They’ve reunited as a team after the singles success Jey had in 2025, which included a reign with the World Heavyweight Championship.

Paul Wight shows off weight loss, only 33 pounds away from goal

Paul Wight has lost a significant amount of weight and is close to reaching his goal in his fitness journey.

On social media today, Wight shared a new picture showcasing his physique. He now weighs 393 pounds and is approaching his goal of weighing 360 pounds. At his heaviest, the former Big Show was billed as weighing around 500 pounds.

“Currently 393lbs. Shooting for 360lbs,” Wight wrote. “I truly appreciate the years of support. . #fitnessjourney #gymselfie”

The 53-year-old Wight has been under contract with AEW since 2021, serving in a variety of roles including wrestling, commentary, and community outreach. He recently made an appearance on commentary for the January 24 episode of Collision.

It’s been more than two years since Wight last competed in the ring, but the former WWE and WCW World Champion is not ready to retire yet. He’s just waiting until he’s physically capable of performing at a level he can be proud of. Wight has undergone a number of surgeries in recent years. The most recent was a minor back operation.

“I don’t plan on going anywhere. I like being in AEW, so it’s just getting my sh*t together and getting ready, and also bringing a good product out,” Wight said on Not Sam Live toward the end of 2025. “The last thing I’m going to do is go out in the ring and have people go, ‘Aww, poor Paul. They should just kill him like Old Yeller’ or something. We’re not going to have that. If I’m not out there humping and bumping and getting after it and slapping people’s souls out of their chests and carry that presence, then it’s time to hang up the boots. So I’m not ready to hang up the boots yet.”

Tony Khan: Andrade is truly ‘at his very best’ right now

Tony Khan believes the current version of Andrade El Idolo is the best he’s ever seen.

After an issue with his WWE non-compete clause delayed things, Andrade officially returned to AEW in January. He’s coming off a victory over Swerve Strickland last week and is now set to face Kenny Omega on Dynamite this Wednesday night. Both Andrade and Omega are among the challengers looking to earn a title shot against AEW World Champion MJF.

Khan hyped Wednesday’s Dynamite card during an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show today, including heaping praise on both Andrade and Omega.

“There’s top stars lining up to challenge the new champion MJF, including we’ve got Kenny Omega coming up to challenge him. We’ve got Kenny Omega taking on Andrade El Idolo,” Khan said. “Kenny Omega is one of the top challengers and certainly one of the top champions we’ve ever had in AEW. One of the greatest wrestlers ever in AEW, and he’s back at his very best. And then we have Andrade El Idolo, who’s returned very recently to AEW. And he is truly, I think, at his very best right now I’ve ever seen him. That’s a huge match.”

Andrade was originally with AEW from 2021-2023. Between his two runs with the company, Andrade went back to WWE for a stint that ended when he was released in September 2025. He returned to AEW soon after, but things then had to be paused as Andrade worked to get his WWE non-compete clause waived.

Dynamite is taking place in Las Vegas on Wednesday night, and the card also includes a singles match between MJF and Brody King. It’s an eliminator bout where the stipulation is that King will earn a title shot if he’s able to defeat the champion. MJF has vowed to defeat King in under two minutes.

Report: Nick Hogan spotted at WWE Performance Center

Nick Hogan, the son of late wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, was apparently at the WWE Performance Center recently.

PWInsider reports that Nick was spotted at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida this week, though there is no word on what he was doing there. Nick attended multiple WWE shows in 2025 where tributes to his father were held, and he spoke very highly about how accommodating WWE has been and how well they’ve treated his family in the wake of his father’s death.

In November of last year, Nick posted a photo of himself on Instagram working out in the ring with NWA wrestler Bryan Idol. Nick is 35 and has never wrestled before, but he left the door open for an in-ring debut when asked about the picture by TMZ.

“You never know, man. It’s in the blood. So, you never know,” Nick said last November. “I’ve always loved the business. And obviously it makes me feel so much closer to dad, being around the business and being kind of in that environment. I have a lot of love for it. Like I said, it’s in the blood, so you never know.”

Hulk Hogan passed away at 71 years old in July 2025 after having experienced weeks of complications following neck surgery.

PWInsider also notes that Tiffany Stratton and AJ Styles are expected to be at WWE’s headquarters in Connecticut this week, potentially to record appearances on WWE podcasts. Styles just had his WWE career ended with a loss to Gunther at the Royal Rumble.

WWE NXT Roadblock special set for March

Next month, WWE NXT is heading back to New York City for its annual Roadblock special.

It’s been announced that Roadblock 2026 will take place at The Theater at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, March 31. The show will air as a special episode of NXT and should serve as a big stop for NXT on the road to WrestleMania weekend.

The Roadblock event is happening one night after Madison Square Garden itself hosts WWE Raw. The theater is a smaller venue connected to MSG that seats a few thousand people. It also hosted Roadblock in 2025 and was most recently the venue for NXT Gold Rush last November.

“NXT Roadblock returns to the Infosys Theater at MSG on March 31,” the venue’s announcement said. “Be there LIVE to see your favorite NXT superstars including NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne, NXT North American Champion Ethan Page, NXT Women’s North American Champion Izzi Dame, NXT Tag Team Champions DarkState and many more!”

Tickets are going on sale to the general public this Thursday (February 5) at 10 a.m. Eastern. A pre-sale is set to begin on Wednesday at that same time.

WWE has yet to officially announce NXT’s plans for WrestleMania weekend in Las Vegas this April, but NXT’s Stand & Deliver PLE traditionally happens then. The brand has a big TV episode tonight where a new NXT Champion will be crowned. Oba Femi vacated the title last month as he prepared for his main roster call-up.

Brie Bella: This is the ‘perfect time’ for Bella Twins WWE return

Brie Bella feels like this was the perfect moment for The Bella Twins to link back up in WWE.

At the Royal Rumble last weekend, Brie returned to the ring for the first time in four years. Her twin sister Nikki had already been back with the company for a solo run — but now she’ll have Brie by her side as they join the women’s tag team division.

“I just feel like this is the perfect time for The Bella Twins,” Brie said while appearing on Good Morning America on Tuesday. “The women’s division is on fire, it’s the best I’ve ever seen it. And I’m just like, I can’t sit at home anymore and be watching like a fan. I’m like, I gotta get in.”

The Bellas appeared on Raw last night and declared their intention to challenge for the Women’s Tag Team titles. During the Good Morning America appearance, they sent a message to Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY.

“[Rhea Ripley] & IYO SKY should watch their back, just putting that warning out since they’re our current tag team champions,” Nikki Bella said. “You know, Brie and I, we’re the OG tag team. We never had that opportunity to go for the tag titles, and we want them.”

Brie Bella said she’s still on cloud nine after the Rumble return. She did not know if fans would remember her, so the love she’s received has been overwhelming.

The Bellas are already WWE Hall of Famers but have never held the Women’s Tag Team titles before. They told Good Morning America that winning the belts is a goal they have before retirement, though they indicated that their retirement might not happen until “years down the road.”

AEW star Hangman Page responds to backlash over Marty Scurll photo

AEW star Hangman Page has responded to the backlash he’s received from fans after recently appearing in a photo with Marty Scurll.

When Dynamite took place in Orlando, Florida on January 21, Scurll posted a photo to Instagram showing him meeting up with Page at a Cracker Barrel restaurant. The post led to Page receiving immediate criticism for still having an association with Scurll, especially given the reputation that Page has built for speaking up about what he feels is right. In 2020, Scurll was accused of taking advantage of an inebriated 16 year old girl in an incident that happened in 2015. The allegation led to Scurll departing ROH and mostly being removed from mainstream wrestling in the years since. Scurll admitted that a sexual encounter between him and his accuser took place but called it “legal” and claimed he thought it was consensual.

Page told The Takedown on SI that he thought about writing a post addressing the photo controversy, but he thought it would be better to do so in a format where he could look fans in the eye and explain himself. Page noted that, though he’s kept in contact with Scurll over the past six years, he feels the behavior Scurll is accused of is “abhorrent” and “disgraceful.” He believes the repercussions Scurll has had to face are justified.

“I don’t want that photo to seem like some kind of endorsement, or, I have any interest whatsoever in whitewashing what he did, or any interest or intention of rehabilitating his public image,” Page said. “None of that is something that I’ve ever been interested in doing. Not now, not ever.

“And I think that the consequences of his actions that he’s had mostly from the public, aside from, like, harassment, I think they’ve been warranted. So I kind of want to make that clear.”

Page and Scurll previously worked together in NJPW and ROH and were stablemates in The Elite. Page said he did not expect their recent photo to be posted publicly, and he understands if fans have lost some respect for him or feel uncomfortable supporting him still. This situation has caused Page to revisit the allegations that were made against Scurll and what a continued relationship with Scurll would mean.

“I guess who I am is, when people treat me with kindness, I try to return it,” Page responded when asked why he kept in contact with Scurll. “I have never really wanted to get into that. And that’s more or less why I have a private relationship with him. Not out of a sense of self-preservation or shame, or something like that. But more or less, I just would never want that to be misconstrued as like an endorsement or an effort to rehabilitate someone’s public image, something like that.

“But I guess I’ve just always thought that he’s still a human being, and that relationships are complicated, but they’re still relationships, and he’s still a human being.”

The Takedown on SI asked Page about building back trust with fans who are disappointed with him for associating with Scurll.

“I guess the best that I can do is, you know, when asked about it like this to try to be as open and transparent as I can,” he said. “And I can just tell you the truth of who I am and the decisions I’ve made. And truthfully say that even if you’ve lost the tiniest amount of respect for me because of my choices, I can accept that. Like, I completely accept that. I understand it. I get it.”

Nia Jax reflects on infamous WWE match against Charlotte Flair

While appearing on a new episode of Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Nia Jax detailed what went down in her infamous August 2021 match against Charlotte Flair.

The match, which took place on the August 30, 2021 episode of WWE Raw, is notable for how Jax and Flair became frustrated with one another and briefly exchanged real strikes. Jax noted on Insight that things got “heated” after a miscommunication, but they were quickly able to calm themselves down backstage.

“My match with Charlotte, where we kind of got into a little tiff, a little back and forth there. You know, it was a miscommunication. I will say I’m going to call it a miscommunication,” Jax said. “Things got heated, like legit got heated in that match. And I did warn her a few times to stop, like to chill out. And she didn’t. And so then I two-pieced her.

“And, you know, we came back and once we were calm and we were level-headed, we all kind of were just like, ‘All right, got kind of out of hand.’ But sometimes it happens. But yeah, it just got a little out of hand. It got hot and we just started swinging.”

Van Vliet asked if things are good between Jax and Flair now.

“Oh, yeah. We’re good,” Jax responded. “But it was definitely, everybody was like, ‘What just happened?’ Even the crowd, because when it happened in the moment, I couldn’t hear anything because I was angry. Like, I was legit pissed. So I didn’t hear anything. But then when I felt the dead silence of the crowd, like I think the crowd was kind of like, ‘Is this really happening?’ And I could hear Corey Graves. Commentary is the only thing I could hear because that crowd was dead silent, because I think they were kind of in shock, like, ‘What just happened?’ So, yeah, it was definitely a moment. So that was a match [where] I’m like, ‘Oh.’ But then we were able to redeem ourselves after that.”

In November 2021, Jax was released by WWE in a round of roster cuts. She has now been back with the company since 2023. When asked about future matchups she wants to have, Jax told Van Vliet that she’d like to face Raquel Rodriguez in a big “hoss match.”

Hiromu Takahashi comments on ‘super positive’ NJPW departure

Hiromu Takahashi is departing NJPW, but there is no bad blood between him and the company.

It was announced last night that Takahashi is leaving NJPW and will have his final match for the promotion at the New Beginning in Osaka on February 11. Tokyo Sports has published an article on the situation, writing that Takahashi’s NJPW contract expired at the end of January and he informed NJPW that he would not be renewing. The article includes comments from Takahashi, who described his departure as “super positive” and said he’s leaving to pursue a “new dream.”

“I want to deny the idea that I’m leaving because I’m dissatisfied (with New Japan). I think it’s natural for any working adult to have dissatisfaction with their company. That’s precisely why I don’t want people to think I left for such a simple reason.” Takahashi said. “I’m leaving with ambition. It’s a super positive departure.”

Takahashi’s next destination has not been revealed yet. Tokyo Sports speculates that his “new dream” could be heading overseas to WWE or AEW, though the article also mentions the possibility of Takahashi becoming a freelancer like his mentor Tetsuya Naito. Naito, BUSHI, and EVIL — former stablemates of Takahashi in Los Ingobernables de Japon — are all no longer with NJPW. At the moment, Naito & BUSHI are the GHC Tag Team Champions in Pro Wrestling NOAH.

“This departure was not influenced by the comings and goings of wrestlers he was close to, like Naito or EVIL. It was solely the result of Hiromu personally pursuing a new dream as a wrestler,” Tokyo Sports wrote. “Hiromu emphasized that his actions stemmed from deep internal conflict and careful consideration: ‘The age of 36, when Okada-san and Nakamura-san left, was something that really stuck with me. I wondered if 36 was a kind of line (for taking on new challenges).’ He emphasized this action came after much internal struggle and careful consideration.”

Takahashi is among the greatest junior heavyweight wrestlers in NJPW history. In their statement announcing his departure, NJPW wished Takahashi the best in the future and encouraged fans to show their support for him during the time he has left in the company. His last match at the New Beginning in Osaka will be Takahashi teaming with Taiji Ishimori against Francesco Akira & Jakob Austin Young.

Nia Jax explains how WWE changed under Triple H

When Nia Jax returned to WWE in 2023, the company felt like a different place than it was during her first run.

Jax was released from WWE during a round of roster cuts in 2021 but was brought back in 2023, returning after Paul “Triple H” Levesque gained power as head of creative. On a new episode of Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Jax opened up about how she benefitted from that two-year absence.

“I feel like I changed in a better way. Like, I got better and I elevated my game a little bit more,” she said. “Not that I didn’t think I had the opportunity in my first part, but I think because it was a different schedule and — I wasn’t really, like, locked in as I could have been. When I had the break and I was able to see what I could improve on, I was able to change it coming back.”

Jax’s first stint with WWE happened while Vince McMahon was still in charge of the company. During that time, she felt like WWE had to be her entire life and everything else needed to take a backseat. Now, there is a healthier balance where she is still passionate about her job without it becoming her entire existence.

“Some of the girls that I came up with, we all kind of made WWE our whole lives. Like, morning, noon, and night, storylines, talking about it all the time and worried about our bookings,” Jax said. “Back in the day, if you got hurt, you were forgotten about. It was hard to get back in the rhythm, so we pushed through things. Like, ‘I’m not hurt, I’m fine, I’m going to stay and I want to skip on all my friends’ weddings and baby showers.’ And then coming back, it felt different to where it’s like, no, WWE is my passion and I love it and I want to be a part of it, but it’s not going to be my entire life. I’m not going to make it like the focal point.”

When McMahon ran WWE, Jax felt like she was working for an audience of one and had to wrestle in the way that McMahon wanted her to. There is now more freedom with Levesque encouraging Jax to show the audience what she can do in the ring.

“I was taught a certain way, like, ‘You’re a certain size, you can’t do these things. Stay away from this. Don’t let them do this to you.’ So I was kind of pigeonholed into a little bit of — and I was afraid to get out of it because, you know, the person telling me is somebody who runs the show and you work for an audience of one. And so this time around, Hunter was more like, ‘Be you. Be you, do you, show them what you can do.’ Because he’s like, ‘I know what you’re capable of.’ So I feel like the difference is just me kind of being myself a little bit more. I’m more adding who I am into my character instead of, like, I’ve got to stay here and make sure that, you know, somebody’s happy.”

Jax was a Women’s Champion under both the McMahon and Levesque regimes, most recently holding the WWE Women’s Championship on SmackDown from August 2024-January 2025. She also won the WWE Queen of the Ring tournament in 2024.

On Insight, Jax noted that she has lost 100 pounds from her highest weight. She participated in the women’s Royal Rumble last weekend but was eliminated by Charlotte Flair.

Two matches added to WWE Raw lineup

The lineup for tonight’s post-Royal Rumble episode of WWE Raw has a couple of new additions.

WWE has announced that Penta vs. Bronson Reed and Je’Von Evans vs. El Grande Americano will both take place on Raw tonight. The show is being held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at Xfinity Mobile Arena.

The Penta vs. Reed match will continue the storyline of Penta trying to dismantle The Vision, who are looking to get back on the right track after all four members came up short at the Royal Rumble. The match included Vision member Bron Breakker entering at number two and being taken out by a mystery attacker.

Evans and Americano faced off on Raw a couple of weeks ago, but the match ended in a referee stoppage due to it being feared that Evans had suffered a concussion. Evans was checked out by medical personnel after the match and was determined to be okay.

There were two El Grande Americanos in the men’s Rumble on Saturday as Chad Gable returned in the gimmick that he originally portrayed. Ludwig Kaiser took over the character after Gable was sidelined with a shoulder injury last year.

Here is the updated card for Raw tonight:

WWE Raw (Monday, February 2) —

  • Philly Street Fight: Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer defends against Raquel Rodriguez
  • Men’s Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns appears
  • Women’s Royal Rumble winner Liv Morgan appears
  • Penta vs. Bronson Reed
  • Je’Von Evans vs. El Grande Americano

Young Bucks reveal plans for scrapped Golden Lovers AEW match

It looks like The Young Bucks vs. Golden Lovers (Kenny Omega & Kota Ibushi) was originally the plan for AEW Full Gear 2025.

During a Q&A posted to the Being the Elite YouTube channel today, The Young Bucks were asked to name a proposed match of theirs that never got the chance to happen in AEW. Nick Jackson revealed that he and his brother Matt were supposed to face off against Omega & Ibushi at a recent pay-per-view, but Ibushi suffered an injury that forced those plans to be scrapped.

“The Golden Lovers,” Nick Jackson said. “It was actually supposed to happen pretty recently. But [Ibushi] had a really bad leg break. We were supposed to do Kenny & Ibushi at — when was it? Not Revolution. Where the heck was it? It was a couple months ago. You guys tell me. We ended up doing a six-man tag.”

With Ibushi unable to compete, the Full Gear card instead included a six-man tag where The Young Bucks & Josh Alexander defeated Jurassic Express (Jack Perry & Luchasaurus) & Omega.

The Young Bucks and Golden Lovers previously met in a dream match at NJPW Strong Style Evolved 2018. Omega & Ibushi got the win in that highly praised first meeting.

It was initially said that the injury Ibushi suffered in October 2025 would keep him out of action for two years, but Ibushi is hoping that he will be able to return quicker than that.

Royce Keys: Never thought I’d be part of something as big as WWE Royal Rumble

Debuting for WWE in the Royal Rumble was a dream come true for the former Powerhouse Hobbs.

Now known as Royce Keys, Hobbs arrived in WWE as a surprise entrant in the men’s Royal Rumble match last Saturday. He signed with WWE after finishing up with AEW last month, ending a nearly six-year run that included TNT and Trios Championship reigns.

WWE uploaded a behind-the-scenes video today documenting Hobbs’ debut. It includes comments from him before the match, along with interactions he had with Cody Rhodes and Paul “Triple H” Levesque.

“This is wild. This is like something out of a movie, man,” Hobbs said while taking a look at the Rumble stage. “This whole setup. Walking down this aisle and into the ring and background. It’s pretty amazing, man. I’m getting goosebumps under this sweatshirt. It’s crazy. It feels real. Looking at the ring, the seats, the stage setup — it’s real. Never thought I would be part of something this big. This is huge. Leading to the Grandaddy of Them All, you know? WrestleMania. This starts tonight.”

Hobbs then caught up with another former AEW wrestler in Cody Rhodes — and Hobbs took a moment to explain how much Rhodes means to him.

“He’s probably going to get mad, but this dude doesn’t know how special he is to me. Thank you for everything. That dude’s been there for me, like, toughest time of my life when my mom passed away. But if I gotta kick his ass, then I gotta kick his ass [laughs]. This is special, man. It’s just like, seeing familiar faces. It’s real. You know, I’m home, I’m moved in. So it’s time to collect.”

WWE included brief footage of the talk Hobbs had with Levesque before the Rumble. Hobbs said Levesque helped ease his nerves by telling him that he was in WWE for a reason.

“We’re going to get rolling and get some good sh*t started,” Levesque told Hobbs. “We’ll be in a good place.”

Hobbs entered the Rumble at number 14 and eliminated Damian Priest during his time in the match. It was Bronson Reed who ended up eliminating Hobbs from the match.

“Eliminating a former World Champion. Ah, I’m here, I’m here, I’m here, I’m here,” Hobbs said after competing. “I’m going to take everything I want. Everything.”

Royal Rumble winners to appear on WWE Raw

Roman Reigns and Liv Morgan, this year’s Royal Rumble winners, are both set to make appearances on WWE Raw tonight.

WWE has officially added segments with Reigns and Morgan to the lineup for tonight’s post-Royal Rumble edition of Raw in Philadelphia. Neither has officially revealed which champion they’ll be facing at WrestleMania, but their appearances tonight will continue the build toward that happening.

“Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns is set to return to Raw,” WWE.com wrote. “Will The OTC decide which World Champion he will challenge at WrestleMania? Find out tonight on Raw at 8e/5p on Netflix.”

Morgan’s appearance tonight will be to celebrate her Rumble victory.

“After outlasting 29 other Superstars and eliminating her Judgment Day ally Raquel Rodriguez, Liv Morgan returns to Raw,” WWE.com’s announcement says. “Morgan has now earned the right to headline WrestleMania against a Women’s Champion. Don’t miss all the action, tonight on Raw at 8e/5p on Netflix.”

Reigns facing World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk looks to be the direction for WrestleMania. As for Morgan, tension within Judgment Day could continue to build based on the result of tonight’s Women’s World Championship match. Rodriguez is challenging Stephanie Vaquer for the title in a Philly Street Fight.
