WWE WrestleMania 43 set for Saudi Arabia

WWE WrestleMania looks to be headed to Saudi Arabia in 2027.

Late Wednesday afternoon, a Snapchat video ad from Turki Al-Sheikh — the Chairman of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority — emerged online with Al-Sheikh appearing to announce that WrestleMania 43 is coming to Saudi.

There has been no official announcement from WWE yet, but PWInsider reports that the news is legitimate. Our Bryan Alvarez followed up and confirmed, adding that Saudi Arabia will be getting the entire weekend including SmackDown and Raw and that he believes the deal is in the neighborhood of $100 million.

“PWInsider.com can confirm, however, that the story is 100% legitimate and an announcement is coming very soon, bringing WrestleMania to an international location outside of North American for the first time ever,” the report said.

WWE began its controversial business relationship with the Saudi regime in 2018 with Saudi hosting annual PLEs for an estimated $50 million per event. The relationship has continued to grow in recent years with Saudi Arabia set to host the Royal Rumble in 2026.

In April 2026, WrestleMania 42 will be held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, with Vegas getting WWE’s signature event for the second straight year.

New WWE WrestleMania 41 attendance data revealed

New attendance data for this past April’s WWE WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas has been revealed, leaving potential detractors without much to talk about.

Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston reported on Wednesday that the Las Vegas Stadium Authority provided documentation showing Saturday’s attendance at 58,538 and Sunday’s at 60,103 for a combined 118,641.

Thurston noted that it’s “unclear if these figures reflect tickets distributed or ticket sales, or whether suite attendees are included in the totals.”

The numbers announced by WWE were 60,151 for Saturday (April 19th) and 61,389 for Sunday (April 20th) for a combined 121,540. The respective discrepancies between the LVSA data and WWE’s were 2.3% for Saturday, 2.1% for Sunday, and 2.4% overall.

The Wrestlenomics report also noted that according to LVSA data, 81% of attendees for Saturday came from out of town while Sunday’s mark was 84%. Additionally, the two nights were the most attended in Allegiant Stadium for Q2, beating out concerts by Post Malone, Kendrick Lamar, Coldplay, AC/DC, and Shakira.

WrestleMania will return to Las Vegas this April once again.

WWE reveals on-sale date for WrestleMania 42 combo tickets

In just over a month, fans will be able to begin purchasing tickets for WrestleMania 42.

WWE announced today that two-day combo tickets for WrestleMania will go on sale to the general public via Ticketmaster at 11 a.m. Eastern time on Wednesday, September 24. The two-night event is taking place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19, 2026.

The promotion has also opened up a mailing list for fans interested in receiving pre-sale information.

Information regarding when single-day tickets will go on sale has not been announced yet.

WWE and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority are partnering together for the show, with this being the second consecutive year that Las Vegas has hosted WrestleMania. Originally, the 2026 event was supposed to be held in New Orleans — but WWE scrapped those plans and instead decided to bring WrestleMania back to Allegiant Stadium. New Orleans will now host Money in the Bank 2026 as well as receiving a future WrestleMania.

Dave Meltzer reports that one of the reasons WWE made the decision to hold WrestleMania in Las Vegas again is because WrestleMania 41 made so much money for the company.

Vegas first hosted WrestleMania in 1993 with WrestleMania IX emanating from Caesars Palace.

Bianca Belair reflects on WWE WrestleMania 41: ‘It was just magic’

When Bianca Belair reflects on her instant classic from WrestleMania 41, one of the things that makes the match special is that it was just her, Rhea Ripley, and IYO SKY doing what they do best.

Belair, Ripley, and SKY had one of the best matches of 2025 so far when they opened night two of WrestleMania 41 this April. Their triple threat match stole the show that night, even earning high praise from “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.

Appearing on a new episode of Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Belair looked back at the match and how it proved you don’t need to break out new, never-seen-before moves to create magic in the ring.

“It was just magic,” she said. “And what I love most about that match, and I’ve told them this too, is that sometimes when you’re at WrestleMania or planning a match, you think like, it’s WrestleMania, I have to go out there, we have to do this, that, we have to do that, we have to pull out these new moves. If you watch that match, none of us did anything that we don’t normally do.

“And so I think we had the best of both worlds. You had everything that Rhea does, you have everything that I do, you had the high-flying moves that IYO has. We had moments in there, it was emotion in there, and we literally just went out there and did what we did, and that was good enough, and it ended up being great. And I love that because it’s not always about the moves, it’s really about the magic that you create in there and what you make people feel.”

Belair said she’s only watched the match back once, and that was because her husband Montez Ford urged her to.

“I’ve actually only watched the match back once, and it’s only because my husband forced me to watch it. Because lot of times if I have a really good match and it goes well and it goes great, I don’t want to watch it back because I know I’m going to pick it apart,” Belair said. “So I was like, ‘Just give me a few days, let me just live in the moment, and let me just be happy about it.’ I was like, ‘I don’t want to watch.’ He’s like, ‘You have to watch it.’

“So we were sitting at home, he put it on, and I watched it, and I enjoyed it. I didn’t pick it apart, but I’ll probably never watch it again, because it just takes way too much out of me, because I get nervous when I watch it again. I feel all the emotions again. By the end of watching, I just feel so exhausted. So I’m like, okay, one and done, and I’m happy with that.”

SKY retained the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania but dropped the belt earlier this month when Naomi cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase during the main event of Evolution.

Since WrestleMania, Belair has been sidelined since suffering a broken finger in the triple threat. She is still recovering from the injury and doesn’t have a return date set yet.

Bryan Danielson: Main eventing WrestleMania 30 ‘doesn’t mean that much to me’

Because of the circumstances surrounding the moment, headlining WWE WrestleMania 30 doesn’t mean that much to Bryan Danielson.

Danielson reached the summit of WWE when he won the company’s World Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 30 in 2014. It will always stand out to fans as one of the highlights of Danielson’s career, but the moment does not hold much sentimental value for Danielson.

“I main evented WrestleMania 30 with WWE. And honestly, it doesn’t mean that much to me,” he told Sun Sport in a new interview. “My sister and my niece got to come into the ring, right? But I was about to marry my wife the following Friday and they wouldn’t let her come down to the ring. They didn’t want her to be in the thing. And then on top of that, it wasn’t just that — it was like, I was going through a ton of neck pain and all these other things. So these things that seem like cool moments to a viewer, there’s all this other stuff going on in a wrestler’s life or in a performer’s life that could make that moment not as valuable to them as it is to the people viewing.”

Danielson reiterated that the match that meant the most to him in his career is facing Swerve Strickland in the main event of AEW All In 2024 at Wembley Stadium. Having his wife Brie Bella and their kids Birdie and Buddy there is a big part of what made that night so special for Danielson. He also loved seeing how much Strickland had grown as a performer since the match they had against each other in October 2023.

“So I would say that at All In, it’s the whole circumstance,” Danielson said, “It’s knowing that my career’s coming to an end. It’s knowing that this might be the last time that my kids ever get to see me wrestle. It’s them being there. It’s the crowd reaction. I mean, the U.K. crowds are just the best, right? It’s all of those things. It’s Swerve Strickland’s performance.”

Danielson won the AEW World Championship in that match before later dropping the title to Jon Moxley, who was dethroned by Hangman Page earlier this month at All In 2025. Danielson played a role in that match by helping to neutralize interference by the Death Riders.

Despite getting physically involved in Page vs. Moxley, Danielson says he is not back as an active performer. He’s retired as a full-time wrestler but has not fully closed the book on ever competing again.

Rhea Ripley names her new favorite WWE WrestleMania moment

Rhea Ripley has a new favorite WrestleMania moment after sharing the ring with IYO SKY and Bianca Belair in Las Vegas.

On a new episode of Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Ripley said — despite losing — her show-stealing triple threat match against SKY and Belair from WrestleMania 41 is now her favorite Mania moment of her career. Before this, it was WrestleMania 39 against Charlotte Flair after their match three years prior had to take place on a closed set at the WWE Performance Center amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I always said my match with Charlotte, because it’s everything that I wanted my first Mania to be. Because it ended up being the COVID Mania — I didn’t get my family, I didn’t get the crowd, I didn’t get anything that normally goes into a Mania,” Ripley said. “And it was just like, ‘Wow, I’m back at the place that I really didn’t like going to every day, and this is my WrestleMania.’ So to then go and face Charlotte again, but it being in front of a crowd, and I saw my family in the front row, I had like all the adrenaline in the world. Everything was so perfect, and then I beat her for the first time. I won the SmackDown Women’s Championship. That was my WrestleMania moment.

“But now I feel like the match with IYO and Bianca has triumphed that. I am literally so proud of that match. I love those two so much. And going through NXT with them, overcoming things with them, watching them overcome things, and watching them grow as performers. And then me growing as a performer to get to that point where we could go to WrestleMania and have such a stellar match, and have people chanting, ‘This is awesome’ and us being the opener — I couldn’t ask for anything more. I understand I lost, it doesn’t matter at that time. It really didn’t, because that was IYO’s moment, but we all got a moment from it at the same time.”

SKY pinned Belair to win the triple threat, retaining the Women’s World Championship in the process. SKY is still champion and has now held the title for almost four months after winning it from Ripley in March.

This Saturday, Ripley will compete in a street fight against Raquel Rodriguez at WWE Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia.

WWE close to finalizing deal for WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas

WWE bringing WrestleMania back to Las Vegas in 2026 is close to being finalized.

WrestleMania 42 was originally set to be held in New Orleans next April, but that will no longer be happening. News broke last month that WWE was moving the event away from New Orleans with Las Vegas believed to be the new front runner. Instead of having WrestleMania next year, New Orleans is getting Money in the Bank 2026 and will still host a different WrestleMania at some point in the future.

The move to Vegas for WrestleMania 42 has not been officially announced yet, but our Bryan Alvarez reports that progress has been made and a deal could be announced soon:

Vegas very close to being a done deal for WrestleMania next year. There were a few hurdles to be cleared and several were this morning. Vegas is making a lot of concessions to clear the way for them.

This means Allegiant Stadium in Vegas is set to host WrestleMania for the second straight year. It’ll be the third time Mania has ever been held in Vegas, following WrestleMania IX and WrestleMania 41.

It’s not known what hurdles were cleared, but one issue WWE was facing was a concert planned for Allegiant Stadium complicating the logistics of setting up for WrestleMania. Another potential issue was less convention space being available for WWE World at the Las Vegas Convention Center due to another event having part of the venue booked.

Alvarez discussed this news story on today’s episode of Wrestling Observer Live.

WWE planning to have Las Vegas host WrestleMania ‘frequently’

In the new issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer provides some details on WWE’s decision to move the location of WrestleMania 42.

It was confirmed this week that WrestleMania 42 will no longer be taking place in New Orleans. A new location has not been announced yet, but the expectation is that the show is being moved to Las Vegas, marking the second straight year that Allegiant Stadium has hosted WrestleMania.

Meltzer reports that TKO Sports Group now plans to run WrestleMania in Las Vegas on a regular basis. It won’t be every year, but the idea is that the show will be held in Vegas frequently.

“The decision was made partially because this year’s WrestleMania made so much money overall in Las Vegas from all sources that they could not make that level of money in New Orleans. The other is that the company loved having it in Las Vegas, because key TKO executives live there and are there and Nick Khan grew up there,” Meltzer wrote. “The plan is now to run WrestleMania on a regular basis in the city, not necessarily every year, but frequently. The idea is that the city wants to have a major destination sports event every year, and by definition they are looking at the Super Bowl, The Final Four, the College Football national championship final and WrestleMania so would be looking for Mania any year that they don’t have one of the other three events.”

Meltzer confirmed that WWE has reserved Allegiant Stadium for Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19, 2026. The show was originally going to be held one weekend before that — April 11 and April 12 — when it was set for New Orleans.

There are still a couple of issues that are being worked out regarding the Vegas move, Meltzer reports.

“There is a concert booked at the stadium that has not been announced that makes the moving in and setting up the stadium too tight,” he wrote. “Those in charge of the stadium have attempted to move the concert date but the promoters have said that they have a contract for that date and thus far have been unwilling to move.

“The other is that the Las Vegas Convention Center, which hosted fan gatherings, is open for that weekend but does not have the same amount of open space as it had for WWE last month. The other event that has part of the Convention Center booked is also unwilling to move. But they could use less space in the building or move to a different convention center, with the Mandalay Bay being the most likely.”

New Orleans will now host Money in the Bank in 2026 instead of WrestleMania, and the city is expected to receive a future WrestleMania as well.

WWE WrestleMania 42 no longer taking place in New Orleans

This story has been updated.

In a surprise turn of events, WWE has to find a new location for next year’s WrestleMania 42 as the event reportedly will no longer take place in New Orleans.

The news was first reported by Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston, obtained via a statement from the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation. Our Dave Meltzer reported that WWE informed the various groups involved Thursday morning.

According to the media outlet, the city will host the event in a “later, unspecified year.”

The new location for next year’s WrestleMania is unknown and given parent company TKO’s desire for site fees, the process for finding a new host city for their biggest events of the year is likely already underway.

The show was originally set for Saturday, April 11th and Sunday, April 12th.

However, New Orleans will host the 2026 edition of Money in the Bank with the date and location yet to be revealed. Thurston noted that this week, July’s UFC 318 was announced for the Smoothie King Center as part of a new agreement between the city and WWE/UFC owners TKO, alluding to future WWE events perhaps being part of that.

The Rock had announced New Orleans as the host city during a February 2025 edition of SmackDown following reports earlier in the month that the city was locked in for the show.

It was to be the third WrestleMania New Orleans hosted at the Caesars Superdome with the first being WrestleMania 30 in 2014 followed by WrestleMania 34 in 2018. It’s one of a shortlist of facilities to host multiple WrestleManias.

Randy Orton details how Joe Hendry was chosen as WWE WrestleMania opponent

In an interview with Billboard, Randy Orton detailed how his WWE WrestleMania 41 match against Joe Hendry came to be.

Orton vs. Kevin Owens was originally scheduled for the event and had even been officially announced by WWE, but plans had to change with Owens having a neck injury requiring surgery. With that grudge match off the books, WWE pivoted to something else entirely with Orton defeating Hendry — the TNA World Champion — in a quick three-minute bout.

This was Orton’s 20th WrestleMania, and he told Billboard that was an important milestone for him. He confirmed that he pushed for Hendry to be his opponent once a replacement was needed. Orton said a couple of people in WWE were unsure about the idea, but he was able to talk them into it.

“It kind of came down to, ‘OK. We need to get Orton an opponent. Who’s it gonna be?’ And there was a very short list of guys on our own roster, but we had some new guys coming in — and it was one of those things where I needed to win, but considering we knew where I was going to be going thinking about Backlash, we needed me to look good coming out of Mania,” Orton said. “It couldn’t be one of our new guys, because when we debut a new talent into the show [we couldn’t] have him start with a loss.

“So we put our heads together and it was actually my idea [for it to be] Joe Hendry. I kept pushing for it, and a couple people were unsure, but I was able to talk everybody into it. I’m really glad that they went with him. It was perfect. It was different from anything else on the card. It was a legitimate surprise, and we were able to keep it a surprise for the most part. We got that really cool, ‘Holy s–t’ moment when his music hit, and it was great. He was great. It was actually a stress-free fun Mania for me, because I didn’t have this crazy 30 minutes balls-to-the-walls match with all this high-risk s–t. I had this cool little segment with Joe, and we didn’t have to do much to have fun out there. So I was really able to enjoy the week and just soak it all up.”

Rusev and Aleister Black were two of the in-house options that WWE had making their returns. Both returned to WWE programming after WrestleMania.

Hendry is proud of the match he had with Orton and thinks it went exactly how it should have gone. A TNA World Championship defense will take place at NXT Battleground on Sunday, May 25 with Hendry putting his title on the line against Trick Williams.

At WWE Backlash this Saturday, Orton will renew his rivalry with John Cena when he challenges Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship. It will likely be their last time ever facing each other with Cena set to retire from the ring in December 2025.

Orton told Billboard that he hopes his hometown crowd in St. Louis brings the energy for this different dynamic of him being the babyface and Cena being the heel.

“Now, it has the potential to be completely opposite of how it used to be, and the pressure is on me as the good guy,” he said. “But I think being in the hometown [of St. Louis], him being the bad guy, it’s just really weird. There’s no way to call it — and I think the match itself will be good, but I think the energy in that arena is going to cause it to be possibly very good. It’s completely up to the energy of that St. Louis crowd. So I’m hoping they’re all ready to go.”

London mayor ‘remains committed’ to hosting WWE WrestleMania

London Mayor Sadiq Khan is still hoping to bring WrestleMania to his city.

In his 2024 re-election campaign, Khan mentioned WrestleMania among the major sporting events he wants London to host. There has been no deal struck yet between WWE and the city, but the mayor had a meeting with Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Nick Khan last summer about the possibility.

The mayor’s office published a report today touting that six events (the UEFA Champions League Final, NFL and MLB regular season games, the London E-Prix race, and London Athletics Meet) brought £230 million in direct economic impact to London in 2024. Looking ahead, the report said Sadiq Khan remains committed to making London the first city outside of the United States or Canada to host WrestleMania:

Building on London’s success, the Mayor has talked up his ambition to bring more of the biggest sporting events in the world to London. Sadiq has expressed his support for a bid for the Olympics and Paralympics to return to London in 2040, while he remains committed to making London WrestleMania’s first international destination. The Mayor is also in positive discussions with the NBA to bring games back to the capital, which is supported by the work of his Basketball Taskforce, while the 2029 World Athletics Championships is another target.

Levesque recently said that, while bringing WrestleMania overseas would be difficult logistically, WWE is up for the challenge.

Las Vegas was the host city for WrestleMania 41, and New Orleans is getting WrestleMania 42 in 2026. It’s also known that Indianapolis will host WrestleMania at some point as part of a deal between WWE and Indiana Sports Corp.

Steve Austin congratulates IYO SKY: That WrestleMania match was ‘killer’

When IYO SKY arrived backstage after her WWE WrestleMania 41 victory, she received praise from “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.

WWE uploaded a four-minute video today documenting some of the behind the scenes of WrestleMania 41. Among the footage included was an interaction between SKY and Austin after SKY retained the WWE Women’s Championship over Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley in a triple threat match.

“That f*cking match was killer,” Austin said. “That was a f*cking great match, very physical… Congrats.”

“I’m so happy, I’m so honored,” SKY responded. “Thank you very much. Thank you.”

The SKY vs. Belair vs. Ripley triple threat opened the WrestleMania 41 night two card and was a tough act to follow. Though Belair was pinned to end her 4-0 streak of WrestleMania victories, she also spoke highly of SKY backstage following the match before cutting a promo on Ripley.

“I think I broke a finger. My finger’s hurt, my feelings hurt. Nah, I’m so happy right now. That was amazing. Win or lose, it’s WrestleMania. The Mania streak is broken. But you know what, I would prefer it to be IYO out of anybody. One of the greatest wrestlers on the planet. So I can’t be mad at that. Congratulations to IYO. Rhea, still coming for that ass, okay? This ain’t over, because it’s your fault.”

Austin appeared at both nights of WrestleMania in Las Vegas, taking part in the Hall of Fame segment on Saturday and then announcing the attendance on Sunday. His match against Bret Hart from WrestleMania 13 was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on Friday as the winner of the first-ever Immortal Moment Award.

WWE touts WrestleMania 41 as most financially successful event in company history

WWE issued its annual post-WrestleMania press release on Tuesday morning, calling WrestleMania 41 the most financially successful and highest-viewed event in company history.

The two-night event took place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Saturday and Sunday. With WWE announcing a combined attendance of 124,693, this was the largest gate for any WWE show ever. WWE did not disclose the exact gate figure, but the previous record was estimated at nearly $40 million for WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia (combined for both nights).

WrestleMania 41 aired on Peacock in the United States and — for the first time — streamed on Netflix outside of the U.S. WWE says viewership for the show was up 114 percent from the previous record that was set in 2024.

WWE also touted records for merchandise sales, sponsorship revenue, fan convention attendance, and social media views:

  • MERCHANDISE: In partnership with Fanatics, merchandise sales onsite were up more than 45 percent versus the previous all-time event record set by WrestleMania XL in 2024, making WrestleMania 41 the highest-grossing event of all-time. Additionally, ecommerce sales were up 86 percent versus last year’s record.
  • SPONSORSHIP: WrestleMania 41 featured a record 28 total partners and set an all-time event record for revenue.
  • WWE WORLD: WWE World at WrestleMania 41, the five-day interactive fan experience in partnership with Fanatics Events, became the most-attended WWE fan convention of all time with more than 50,000 attendees – a 21 percent increase over last year’s event surrounding WrestleMania XL.
  • SOCIAL: WrestleMania 41 became the most socially viewed WWE event of all-time, generating 1.1 billion social views throughout the weekend. Additionally, WWE’s YouTube channel saw its most-viewed day ever on WrestleMania Sunday.

Following WrestleMania IX in 1993, this was WWE’s second time ever bringing WrestleMania to Las Vegas. New Orleans will host WrestleMania 42 in 2026 with the Superdome getting its third WrestleMania.

CM Punk reflects on WWE WrestleMania 41

WrestleMania 41 was an overwhelming experience for CM Punk.

Punk achieved a lifelong goal on Saturday night by headlining WrestleMania for the first time ever. In the night one main event of WrestleMania 41, Seth Rollins defeated Roman Reigns and Punk in a triple threat match. Paul Heyman betrayed Reigns and Punk to help Rollins get the win.

With WrestleMania weekend now over, Punk wrote an Instagram post overnight thanking everyone who has believed in him and helped him get to this point. He said he’s overwhelmed and unable to come up with the perfect words to describe this experience.

“There’s too many people to thank. I didn’t get here alone. I’ve been lifted up and comforted in bad times by people, family, who have always believed in me,” Punk wrote. “It wasn’t a straight road. I took the long way. Along that way I’ve learned lessons. I’ve been wrong. I’ve been right. I’ve been mean. I’ve been humbled. I’m grateful for all the lumps. The good and the bad. What’s certain is you get back what you put in. Maybe not instantly. Maybe not tomorrow. But never say never. With a full heart and gratitude that goes to 11, I’m overwhelmed and in search of the perfect words to describe my last few days. Thank you. I love you. If it was the last one, it may very well have been the best one.”

The 46-year-old Punk recently told The Ringer that WWE is trying to get him to sign a new five-year contract. Punk said he doesn’t want to wrestle past his expiration date, but his mind has never been sharper and he’s never been more focused.

An angle on last night’s Raw after WrestleMania saw Bron Breakker align with Heyman and Rollins as they stood tall over Punk and Reigns.

This was Punk’s first time competing at WrestleMania since 2013. After returning to WWE in November 2023, he was still involved in WrestleMania 40 last year but could not wrestle at that event due to a torn triceps.

‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin crashes ATV at WWE WrestleMania 41

WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s WrestleMania 41 appearance did not go as planned.

Austin rode to the ring on an ATV on night two of WrestleMania 41, then crashed the vehicle into the ringside barricade as he maneuvered the vehicle around the ring.

As he took laps around the ring on the ATV, Austin crashed, smashing the vehicle into the LED boards decorating the barricade. A fan standing behind the barricade fell back towards their seat following the impact. Austin appeared to make an apology to the fan, then entered the ring for his planned segment where he announced the night two WrestleMania attendance, then the total attendance for both nights of the event.

As Austin’s segment concluded with him drinking his customary beers in the ring, WWE president Nick Khan was seen on camera having a conversation with the fan who fell back after the barricade was struck.

Austin was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame for a second time this weekend, with his WrestleMania 13 match against Bret Hart being inducted as an “Immortal Moment.”

Austin headlined the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2009.

WWE WrestleMania 41 attendance announced —

During his segment, Austin announced a sold-out night two WrestleMania attendance of 63,226, and a total attendance of 124,693 for the two-night show.
