AJ Lee match part of updated WWE Elimination Chamber lineup

Two matches are now set for the Elimination Chamber.

AJ Lee made her return to television on Monday and confronted Becky Lynch. She said she was there to cheer on Maxxine Dupri against Nattie later in the night, but also pointed out that she defeated Lynch not only at Wrestlepalooza but also at War Games. Lee said that she figured she was the number one contender for the Intercontinental title. Lynch resisted the idea of facing Lynch but eventually agreed, telling the former Diva’s Champion that if she thought the man held her down before, she has no idea what she’s in for.

Later, when Lee came out to help Dupri to the back following her match, Lynch ran in through the crowd and posted Lee from behind into a nearby turnbuckle.

The title match between CM Punk and Finn Balor was also confirmed for February 28. Balor, upset over his title loss in Belfast and being rejected for a spot in the Royal Rumble, hijacked CM Punk’s interview segment with Michael Cole before Punk could come out. Balor demanded a title match in Chicago, Punk’s home turf. The World Heavyweight Champion arrived and agreed to the title match, but GM Adam Pearce rejected the idea, saying it could potentially ruin the WrestleMania main event between Punk and Roman Reigns. Punk said that he wanted a say in the matter and would take over the show until he got what he wanted. Pearce eventually relented and agreed to the title match.

World title match added to WWE Clash in Paris

The World Championship will be on the line in Paris.

After Seth Rollins interfered in the main event of Monday’s Raw, he and the rest of The Vision attacked LA Knight and CM Punk until Jey Uso made the save. It was then that Adam Pearce came out and revealed that that Clash in Paris on August 31 Rollins would defend the title against Uso, Rollins, and Punk in a fatal four-way match.

As Rollins seethed, Knight and Punk started arguing in the ring. Uso attempted to intervene, but Knight elbowed him in response. The Vision took this as an opportunity to re-enter the ring to lay out all three men, with Rollins giving the stomp to CM Punk to close out the show.

Punk was celebrating World Heavyweight title win over Gunther at SummerSlam when Seth Rollins returned, revealing that his injury was nothing but a ruse. He attacked Punk with the briefcase and pinned him to quickly end Punk’s title reign. In the weeks sinc,e both Punk and Knight have been looking to get another crack at Rollins.

Here is the updated card for Clash in Paris:

WWE Clash in Paris (August 31):

Three new title matches confirmed for WWE SummerSlam

Three title matches are now set for SummerSlam.

In the main event of Monday’s Raw, CM Punk won the gauntlet to face Gunther for the World Championship. Bron Breakker and Penta started things off, with Breakker not only scoring a win over Penta but was also successful in beating LA Knight and Jey Uso. During his match against Punk he was helped by stablemate Bronson Reed. However, Jimmy Uso came out to even the odds. Punk picked up the win following a GTS.

After the match, Breakker and Reed continued to attack until Roman Reigns made his return, helping clear the ring. Reigns helped Jey back up on this feet but only stared at Punk as the show went off the air.

Earlier in the night, new Women’s World Champion Naomi came out but was confronted by IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley, who both laid claim to a title match after the events of Evolution. As all three argued, Adam Pearce came out and made a three-way title match for SummerSlam.

Lyra Valkyria meanwhile defeated Bayley in a 2 out of 3 falls match to earn a title match against Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch. After Valkyria’s victory, champion Becky Lynch came to the ring as the two had a staredown.

SummerSlam number one contender’s gauntlet match set for WWE Raw

The next challenger for Gunther will be determined on Monday.

It was announced during Sunday’s Evolution PLE that a gauntlet match will take place on Raw. CM Punk, Jey Uso, LA Knight, Penta, and Bron Breakker will wrestle for a chance to earn a World Heavyweight title match against The Ring General at SummerSlam.

Following the events of Night of Champions, Punk reignited his feud with Seth Rollins, Breakker, and their group after they interfered in his WWE title match against John Cena. On last Monday’s Raw, both Knight and Punk attacked Rollins, leading to a segment later where they both expressed interest in taking him out. However, any storyline involving Rollins is currently in question after he suffered an injury at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Gunther’s last World Championship match was a successful one, defeating Goldberg in what was the former WCW Champion’s final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. He defeated Jey Uso for the title back on the June 9 edition of Raw.

Here is the current lineup for Monday’s Raw:

WWE Raw lineup for July 14:

  • Gauntlet match, winner faces Gunther at SummerSlam: CM Punk vs. Jey Uso vs. LA Knight vs. Penta vs. Bron Breakker

Gunther wins World Heavyweight title on WWE Raw

Gunther is now a two-time World Champion.

The Ring General submitted Jey Uso in the main event of Raw to win the title for a second time. The finish of the match had Gunther going for the sleeper. Jey Uso slipped out an applied a sleeper of his own, a callback to his title victory at WrestleMania 41. However, it wasn’t successful this time as Gunther reversed and successfully applied the sleeper. Uso fought to escape the hold but passed out, giving Gunther this second World championship in WWE.

Seth Rollins, who won the Money in the Bank contract on Saturday, did not appear during or after the main event. He only appeared once on the show, coming out after John Cena and CM Punk set up their WWE title match for Night of Champions later this month and showing off his briefcase.

Uso had held the title for 52 days, defeating Gunther in the opening night of WrestleMania 41 Saturday. During his time as champion, he defeated Seth Rollins by disqualification and most recently retained the title after defeating Logan Paul during last month’s Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Prior to his title defense against Paul, Gunther confronted Uso backstage and told him that he would face the winner on the June 9 edition of Raw.

Gunther vs. Damian Priest World Heavyweight title match added to WWE Survivor Series

The World Heavyweight title match for Survivor Series is official.

It was confirmed on Monday’s Raw that Damian Priest will be challenging Gunther for the title on November 30 in Vancouver. This follows a confrontation between the two that took place on Monday night after Priest won a four-way match last week to become the new number-one contender.

During their face-to-face, Priest told Gunther that although at first he wasn’t sure if he could beat Gunther, he now knows that if it wasn’t for Finn Balor turning on him, he would have retained the title at SummerSlam. He told Gunther that his vibe as a killer has faded, and dared him to take a swing. Ludwig Kaiser came out and called Priest street trash, causing Priest to lay him out. Gunther acted like he was going to retaliate, but instead backed off when Priest turned around to face him. Priest would later go on to defeat Kaiser in a singles match.

The lineup to this point for WWE Survivor Series WarGames set for Saturday, November 30 in Vancouver:

  • WarGames match: OG Bloodline (Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso & Sami Zayn) & TBA vs. The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa) & TBA
  • World Heavyweight title: Gunther defends against Damian Priest

Gunther vs. Sami Zayn World title match listed internally for WWE Bad Blood

A World Championship match is expected for WWE Bad Blood.

Dave Meltzer reports that Gunther defending the World Heavyweight title against Sami Zayn at next month’s Bad Blood premium live event has been listed internally by WWE.

In Sunday’s daily update, he wrote:

Gunther vs. Sami Zayn is listed on the internal lineup for a WWE title match at Bad Blood on 10/5, so I guess it’s a six-match show and not a five-match show with the Cody Rhodes & Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa & Jacob Fatu, Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk Hell in a Cell, a teased Nia Jax tag match (depending on next week’s Smackdown tag match result), Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley for the women’s title and Damian Priest vs. Finn Balor.

Following the events of Bash in Berlin, Sami Zayn has confronted Gunther about getting a World Heavyweight title match on two occasions, noting that Gunther’s last loss was against him at WrestleMania 40 earlier this year. Gunther rejected the challenge, then did it again on last week’s Raw when Zayn interrupted a conversation between Gunther and Bret Hart. After Hart called Gunther yellow for ducking Zayn, Gunther and the former Intercontinental Champion ended up in a brawl that Zayn got the better of.

Drew McIntyre fails in WWE Money in the Bank cash-in after CM Punk interference

Drew McIntyre no longer holds the Money in the Bank briefcase.

During the World Heavyweight title match Saturday, both Seth Rollins and Damian Priest were down when McIntyre came out and cashed in the contract he had won earlier in the show, turning the match into a triple threat. He went to grab Priest when suddenly CM Punk attacked McIntyre. He took McIntyre to the outside and struck him with steel chair shots. When McIntyre re-entered the ring, Punk grabbed the title and struck McIntyre with it. That allowed Priest to pin McIntyre with the south of heaven to retain the title.

Punk sat on the announce table as he applauded McIntyre losing yet another shot at the World Heavyweight title. Seth Rollins, who had agreed to a stipulation that he could never challenge for the World Heavyweight title as long as Priest was champion if he lost, yelled at Punk on the outside.

Punk and McIntyre have been at each other’s throats for most of the year, starting when McIntyre mocked Punk for getting injured at the Royal Rumble. After Punk attacked McIntyre at WrestleMania, Priest capitalized by cashing in his MITB briefcase and defeated McIntyre to win the World Heavyweight title he had just won. Punk then cost McIntyre the title again at Clash at the Castle after disguising himself as a referee. McIntyre responded by attacking Punk and leaving him a bloody mess the following Friday on SmackDown.

Seth Rollins returns, accepts World Heavyweight title match for WWE Money in the Bank

Seth Rollins is back.

After being since WrestleMania, Rollins returned to Raw on Monday, opening the show.  He and Damian Priest ended up agreeing to a World Heavyweight title match at Money in the Bank, which takes place in Toronto on July 6.

Rollins said he had returned for one reason, and that is to win the championship that he had made. He said he would enter the Money in the Bank ladder match to earn a title match. Priest came out as the two exchanged words. Priest said he would grant Rollins a title match at Money in the Bank. Rollins thought that Priest’s offer was a ruse for the Judgment Day to attack him, but Priest said that the Judgment Day knew nothing about his offer. Rollins accepted, setting up the match for next month.

Here is the updated lineup for Money in the Bank:

  • World Heavyweight Championship: Damian Priest defends against Seth Rollins
  • Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match
  • Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match

New stipulation added to World Heavyweight title match at WWE Clash at the Castle

A new stipulation has been added to the World Heavyweight title match at Clash at the Castle.

Drew McIntyre defeated Finn Balor in the main event of Monday’s Raw. Per the stipulations of the match, The Judgment Day are now barred from ringside for Saturday’s World Heavyweight title match, where Damian Priest will defend against McIntyre.

McIntyre kicked off Raw talking about the upcoming title match when Priest walked out, the two exchanging words. McIntyre said that the only reason Priest had a chance of winning was because of Judgment Day. That led Priest to issue the challenge for Raw’s main event, with McIntyre accepting.

Clash at the Castle streams live on Peacock/WWE Network on Saturday, June 15. The main card will begin at 2 p.m. Eastern time. The updated card for the event:

  • Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes defends against AJ Styles in an I Quit match
  • World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest defends against Drew McIntyre (Judgment Day are barred from ringside)
  • WWE Women’s Champion Bayley defends against Piper Niven

  • Women’s Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill defend against Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark and Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn in a triple threat

Damian Priest vs. Jey Uso title match official for WWE Backlash

The World Heavyweight title match for Backlash is set.

During Raw, it was confirmed that Damian Priest will defend the title against Jey Uso at Backlash, which takes place in Lyon, France on May 4. Uso became the new number one contender on last week’s Raw after winning a four-way match.

In a backstage segment, Balor told Priest that he thought they should aim to get back the tag team titles. Priest said Balor should focus instead on beating Uso tonight, as he’ll teach him about the word pain at Backlash. The two agreed to focus on Uso.

After Uso defeated Balor, Priest appeared on the apron as the two had a staredown. This allowed Balor, JD McDonagh, and Dominik Mysterio to jump Uso, who managed to fend them off and left through the crowd.

Priest became the new World Heavyweight Champion last weekend during the second night of WrestleMania 40. He cashed in right after Drew McIntyre, who had just won the title from Seth Rollins, was attacked by CM Punk after McIntyre repeatedly mocked him. Priest ran down to the ring and cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase, pinning McIntyre to win the title.

World Heavyweight title match booked for Day 1 edition of WWE Raw

Drew McIntyre is getting another World Heavyweight title match.

On Monday’s Raw, he was seen talking to GM Adam Pearce when CM Punk walked up to them. McIntyre said that he wasn’t interested in Cody’s story or Punk’s story because he was going to finish his story, as he got a World Heavyweight title match on the Day 1 edition of WWE Raw, which takes place January 1 in San Diego.

Earlier in the night, McIntyre defeated Jey Uso after raking Uso in the eyes and connecting with a claymore. McIntyre has never forgiven Uso for what he and the Bloodline did to him last year, and attacked Uso after he lost to Seth Rollins on last week’s Raw.

McIntyre last got a World Heavyweight title match back in November, when he lost to Rollins in Saudi Arabia. He later admitted to Rollins that his loss was on him, and it could be the best thing that’s ever happened to him. Soon after that, he aligned with the Judgment Day at Survivor Series for their WarGames match where they lost to Cody Rhodes’ team.

World Heavyweight title match set for WWE Money in the Bank

Two new matches have been made official for Money in the Bank on July 1 in London.

Seth Rollins will put the World Heavyweight title on the line against Finn Balor. Another match will have Cody Rhodes take on Dominik Mysterio.

On Raw Monday, Balor confronted Rollins, blaming him for having to vacate the Universal title back in 2016 and having to take a year off due to injury. He issued the challenge for London. Rollins accepted, telling Balor that while the bitter shell of a former champion Balor didn’t have any chance against him, the Balor that beat him with one arm in 2016 did.

After Rhea Ripley was given the new Women’s World Heavyweight title at the start of Monday’s raw, Mysterio came out to celebrate with Ripley, putting the championship around her waist. Rhodes came out and confronted Mysterio after he sucker punched Rhodes last week. Rhodes issued the challenge to Mysterio, with Ripley accepting on Mysterio’s behalf. After Rhodes’ opponent for the night The Miz came in to attack Rhodes, Mysterio sucker punched Rhodes again before bailing.

Here is the updated lineup for Money in the Bank:

WWE Money in the Bank, Saturday, July 1, 3 p.m. Eastern time on Peacock & WWE Network —

  • Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match: Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Ricochet vs. LA Knight vs. Santos Escobar vs. Butch vs. Damian Priest

The match to determine the first World Heavyweight Champion has been set for Night of Champions.

AJ Styles defeated Bobby Lashley in the semifinals of the World Heavyweight Championship tournament that took place on Friday’s SmackDown. The finish saw Lashley posting himself into the turnbuckle, allowing Styles to connect with the phenomenal forearm to secure the victory. With the win, Styles will now face Seth Rollins in the finals of the tournament, which will take place in at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia on May 27.

Styles defeated Edge and Rey Mysterio in the opening match of SmackDown to advance, while Lashley defeated Sheamus and Austin Theory to make it to the semifinals. On Monday’s Raw, Seth Rollins defeated Finn Balor to become the first to reach the finals.

Introduced last month, the World Heavyweight title will be exclusive to the Raw brand following the 2023 WWE Draft.
