BVV: TNA Impact with Champions Challenge matches

Slammiversary is at the end of this month, but TNA seems to be in no hurry to put a card together.

Impact this week was devoted to a pair of Champions Challenge matches that theoretically set up title contests down the road, but neither involves any of the company’s biggest names.

So what we had was two hours action that often felt aimless. Tessa Blanchard wrestled Harley Hudson. Santino Marella laced up the boots to face his future son-in-law Stacks. Fabian Aichner made his in-ring debut but didn’t come out of it looking any stronger than he did going in.

And they plugged a Hardys-Righteous match for next week by giving it a wacky name and some cryptic promo time without actually explaining what the rules were or why it mattered or why you should tune in.

Look, this was a skippable TV show, but I’m going to do my best to cover it in an entertaining manner.

TNA name shown in the crowd at WWE Clash in Italy 2026

A popular TNA name made his appearance at WWE Clash in Italy 2026.

Following the third match of the night, WWE showed a montage of several wrestlers who were present at Inalpi Arena in Turin attending Clash in Italy. After Brock Lesnar defeated Oba Femi, WWE showed footage of Tag Team Champions Austin Theory and Bron Breakker sitting ringside.

The feed featured Giulia sitting ringside and attending the show, before they also showed former WWE Intercontinental Champion and TNA’s current on-screen director of authority, Santino Marella, also in the arena.

Marella was met with a massive roar from the audience and a swarm of fans who hyped him up as he appeared on screen. Marella was present at WWE Clash in Italy, just as part of the audience, and had nothing planned for the show (as of this writing).

Marella is next scheduled to team up with Indi Hartwell and face the duo of Arianna Grace and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo on the upcoming episode of TNA Impact.

Wicked Garden match, mixed tag team bout part of next week’s TNA Impact

TNA has announced next week’s Impact lineup, and it includes the unique Wicked Garden match.

Midway through this Thursday, May 28, 2026, episode of TNA Impact, the promotion released a brief lineup of next week’s matches.

After Indi Hartwell requested herself to be in a mixed tag-team match with Santino Marella against Arianna Grace and Channing Stacks, Marella, the on-screen director of authority in TNA, granted them the match.

Next week’s lineup will also see The Righteous (Dutch & Vincent) face The Hardys (Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy) in a Wicked Garden match. The four men have been through a roller coaster relationship, with them being on similar sides and then again feuding. Currently in a rivalry against each other, the Hardys’ feud against The Righteous also saw the return of the Broken Matt Hardy and The Willow gimmicks.

Next week’s lineup will also see BDE in a match against Eddie Edwards.

TNA Impact next week’s lineup

  • The Righteous (Dutch & Vincent) vs. The Hardys (Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy) in a Wicked Garden match
  • Indi Hartwell & Santino Marella vs. Arianna Grace & Channing Stacks
  • BDE vs. Eddie Edwards

Former WWE wrestler teases Clash in Italy appearance would be ‘full circle moment’

Santino Marella commented on the possibility of his appearance at WWE Clash in Italy.

Marella responded to a fan made poster of him at the Premium Live Event. He stated it would be a ‘full circle moment’ if it happened.

“It would be a full circle moment for sure” tweeted Marella.

Marella marked his WWE main roster in 2007 and remained with the company until 2016. Since then he’s been associated with TNA and has competed in the promotion’s crossover feud with NXT. Additionally, he teamed up with Arianna Grace in the first ever father-daughter tag team match on TNA.

Clash in Italy marks WWE’s first Premium Live Event in Italy. It will take place on May 31 at Inalpi Arena in Turin.

So far, one match has been confirmed with Cody Rhodes defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Gunther.

TNA’s Santino Marella undergoes successful sleep apnea surgery

TNA’s Santino Marella recently announced undergoing a successful surgery.

Kayfabe suspended from TNA by Daria Rae. Marella recently possibly spilled the actual reason behind his kayfabe suspension.

Via Instagram, Marella announced his successful sleep apnea surgery and uploaded a photo with a bandage over his nose.

Sleep [apnea] surgery was a success. In a couple weeks I’ll be sleeping properly for the first time in about 30 years. Better recovery, better blood oxygen levels, less brain fog, more energy, less inflammation, & lower cortisol levels to start,” Marella wrote. “I feel like it’s gonna be a new lease on life. Sucks pretty bad at the moment not gonna lie, but in a few days, I should begin to see the benefits.”

Marella was Director of Authority in TNA before he was kayfabe suspended from the company previously on this Thursday’s Impact before TNA Rebellion by Rae. Marella’s daughter, Arianna Grace, is scheduled to compete at TNA Rebellion, where she will defend her TNA Knockouts World Title against Lei Ying Lee.

International title match added to TNA Genesis

A match for the International title is set for Genesis.

In a social media video on Friday, Santino Marella responded to claims by his daughter Ariana Grace that Stacks can beat up anyone they put in front of him. He made a four-way match for Genesis where Stacks will now defend the TNA International title against Eric Young, BDE, and a mystery person “who made their name in the great state of Texas.”

Late last year, Grace stunned TNA fans by turning against the TNA Director of Authority, choosing fiance Stacks over her own father. She later said she was tired of living in her father’s shadow and being known as Santino Marella’s daughter. She also accused him of choosing the wrestling industry over her.

Stacks won the title back at Final Resolution on December 5, defeating Steve Maclin. His most recent title defense was on Tuesday, defeating Shiloh Hill on NXT.

Current TNA Genesis 2026 lineup for January 17th, 2026 | Garland, Texas

  • TNA World Champion Mike Santana defends against Frankie Kazarian in a Texas Death match with Nic Nemeth as special referee
  • TNA Knockouts Champion Lei Ying Lee defends against Zaria
  • TNA International Champion Stacks defends against Eric Young, BDE, and TBA

  • Mustafa Ali vs. Elijah
  • JDC vs. Eddie Edwards in JDC’s retirement match.
  • TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys (Matt and Jeff Hardy) defend against The Righteous (Vincent and Dutch)
  • AJ Francis vs. Rich Swann
  • Joe Hendry concert

BVV: Impact with NXT vs. TNA cage match

On the heels of AEW’s Blood & Guts and WWE’s WarGames comes TNA’s Steel Cage match, where 10 men quickly enter a single ring and things get very crowded. But the match seemed to bring a definitive end to the TNA vs. NXT feud, while also setting up, um, something for the Hardys.

Elsewhere, there’s a 20-man battle royal for a world title match on New Year’s Day with a very surprising winner; the Angel Warriors battle Tessa Blanchard & Mila Moore; and Elijah performs in a very special concert. And yes, that’s the whole lineup. We’ll break it all down the latest Big Vinny V Show!

WWE NXT’s Arianna Grace opens up about working with father Santino Marella

Getting to work with her father on-screen is a blessing that Arianna Grace didn’t expect to happen this early in her career.

Grace (Bianca Carelli) signed with WWE in 2022 and has been featured in NXT with her pageant queen character. Her father, former WWE wrestler Santino Marella, is currently with TNA Wrestling as the promotion’s Directer of Authority. They’ve gotten the chance to work together with Grace serving as an on-screen liaison between NXT and TNA. The father-daughter duo even teamed up earlier this year in a loss to Robert Stone & Victoria Crawford in a match for TNA.

While speaking with The Wrestling Classic, Grace opened up about how much working with her father has meant to her. She also expressed pride in how well Marella is able to perform in the ring at 51 years old.

“Awesome. So awesome. So unbelievable. I never thought it was actually going to happen this early in my career, so that was like a surprise blessing,” Grace said. “But just like how I said with [her fiance Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo] here, when I work with him — work already doesn’t feel like work — but it’s like a gift. So the same goes with my dad. Like, seeing my dad at work — it’s not work to begin with because I love my job. But now it’s like, ‘Oh my God. And my dad who is one of my best friends, he’s here too. This is so much fun.’ Like, it is so awesome.

“And I am super proud of him. Because he was out of the ring for a little while, and he crushed it when we had our tag match and his singles match with Robert Stone. And he had a match with Ethan Page on NXT too, and he just did such an unbelievable job. He kept up with the NXT pace. I didn’t know if the old man had it in him, but he had it in him. He did great.”

Grace and Channing Lorenzo got engaged in December 2024 and have been teaming together on NXT house shows as of late.

Santino Marella: When TNA gets a new TV deal, we’re the number two promotion

Current TNA employee and former WWE Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella is talking big about the prospects for TNA if they are able to secure a new TV deal.

Marella was on Lucha Libre Online and was about asked about the success of the company, October’s Bound for Glory pay-per-view, and the run they are currently on.

“We’re going to capitalize on (the BFG) audience. We’re going to send the message out to the world. We’re here. We’re knocking on that door. You better look out because once we get that TV deal, we’re number two, man. I know Tony Khan has lots of money, I get it. But the fans speak. The fans dictate who’s number one, number two, number three, not your bank account,” he said.

TNA head Carlos Silva has talked publicly about wanting to get a new TV deal with rumors they have been speaking with The CW and A&E via their partnerships with WWE.

“Of course, WWE is number one. They’re so far ahead that we’ll never catch it in my lifetime. Number two is attainable, number two is really something we can do. If we accomplish that, that’s humongous,” he continued.

He also spoke positively about the experience in TNA and that when wrestlers get released or leave WWE, he tells them to come to TNA as it will help them fall in love with the business again.

Marella also talked about his recent AAA interaction with Mr. Iguana and how he’d love to team with the budding star vs. taking him on, the ability to work with his daughter, and more.

WWE NXT notes: Nia Jax, No Quarter Catch Crew, Santino Marella

News and notes from the Tuesday, July 29 edition of WWE NXT TV:

Nia Jax —

WWE main roster talent Nia Jax made her presence felt on Tuesday’s show, helping Fallon Henley defeat Lash Legend. The angle was framed more as Jax targeting Legend than aligning with Henley, as Jax continued to attack Legend after the match:

No Quarter Catch Crew —

Tavion Heights defeated Charlie Dempsey on Tuesday’s show to earn the right to leave Dempsey’s No Quarter Catch Crew stable.

Santino Marella —

TNA director of authority Santino Marella challenged Ethan Page for the North American Championship in Tuesday’s main event. It was the first WWE match for Marella since a cameo as Santina in the 2020 women’s Royal Rumble match, and his first as Santino in WWE since 2014. After the show went off the air, Marella one-upped Page:

Joe Hendry —

At several points during Tuesday’s episode, Joe Hendry’s image flashed across the screen. Hendry’s presence can be expected to continue across WWE NXT programming as part of their working agreement with TNA Wrestling.

WWE NXT live results: Santino Marella challenges for North American title

On NXT tonight, Santino Marella has a chance to win his first WWE gold in 13 years.

The 51-year-old Marella is challenging Ethan Page for the NXT North American Championship on tonight’s show. It’s a match that was set up last week when Marella confronted Page, who had just introduced a Canadian flag-inspired design for the North American title belt. Marella said the title deserves to be held by someone with dignity, honor, class, and pride.

Marella is currently an on-screen authority figure in TNA Wrestling with the title of Director of Authority.

A couple of women’s division matches have also been announced for tonight with Lash Legend vs. Fallon Henley and Jaida Parker vs. Jazmyn Nyx scheduled to take place. Legend and Parker are both angling for a title shot against NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne, who now also holds the TNA Knockouts Championship as well.

Join us for live coverage starting at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

**********

The show opens on a somber note with a ten-bell salute to Hulk Hogan, while members of the NXT roster stand in the ring and at ringside. A music video tribute to Hogan follows the ten-bell salute. After that is an early commercial break.

Back from the break, a recap highlights the previous episode of NXT, which sets the stage for tonight’s card. Opening the show is a women’s match.

Jaida Parker vs. Jazmyn Nyx (with Fallon Henley and TNA Knockouts & NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne)

Parker pinned Nyx after a running hip attack. Nyx got some offense, but Parker made an impressive comeback. The result was a coordinated push of Parker to set her up to challenge Jayne in a title match. The match itself was largely good as Parker looked strong.

Jaida Parker defeated Jazmyn Nyx

— Je’Von Evans passes by The High Ryze at the start of a backstage skit, and Evans clowns on them. Evans then meets Chase U on Evans’ way to the ring for a monologue. Andre Chase is telling Kale Dixon and Uriah Connor to essentially take the bulls by the horns. That would lead into a later skit with Hank & Tank.

Confrontation sets up Wes Lee vs. Je’Von Evans for later tonight

Evans begins with a monologue, where he begins by talking about getting advice from Undertaker last week. Evans is going after the biggest dog in the yard.

Out comes TNA World Heavyweight Champion Trick Williams in jeans that sparkle bright. The biggest dog has arrived, and he offers advice not to tug on Superman’s cape or try Trick Williams. That leads to Evans saying he was not talking about Trick when he calling out the biggest dog in the yard. Instead, Evans was talking about NXT Champion Oba Femi.

High Ryze soon interrupts to interject in the conversation. Playing off the skit from earlier, Wes Lee is flanked by Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe. Lee has Trick’s back, and Lee cuts a promo on Evans. There is some bickering back and forth before Evans responds by decking Lee. Outnumbered, Evans is jumped by High Ryze and Trick. This sets up a singles match tonight with Lee against Evans. Lee and company stand over a prone Evans.

— In a comedy skit, Uriah Connors and Kal Dixon have chairs in hand outside the locker room of NXT Tag Team Champions Hank & Tank. They intend to rush in and attack Hank & Tank, and they barge in. Instead of an assault, there is a comedy where Hank says all they had to do was ask. In comes Andre Chase, who is apologetic as he did not mean for his students to attack with chairs. This all was mildly funny, but more importantly, it sets up a tag title match for next Tuesday on NXT.

Charlie Dempsey vs. Tavion Heights

Heights pinned Dempsey after a belly-to-belly suplex. In winning, Heights can now leave No Quarter Catch Crew.

The match goes through a commercial break, and it was very good as well. Wren Sinclair was again at ringside, and she teased tossing in a the towel once more. She ultimately didn’t, and Heights made a comeback after Dempsey is working a leg.

Double down as the show cut to commercial. After the break, Dempsey targets the leg. Heights’ leg is smashed in the ring steps. Dempsey then goes to work with a half crab. Heights eventually hulks up into a comeback. He fights back and gets a near fall with a small package. Moments later, Heights counters Dempsey to execute a belly-to-belly suplex. Heights then covers Dempsey for a pinfall. Heights in now free to leave No Quarter Catch Crew.

Tavion Heights defeated Charlie Dempsey

— Trick William instructs High Ryze to finish off Je’Von Evans. In exchange, High Ryze wants Trick to use his pull to get them a tag team title match. Up walks Santino Marella, who chides Trick for thinking he was pull. Marella is the stroke in TNA. But do not worry about that, Marella says as he takes off his TNA badge. Tonight, Marella is a WWE superstar looking to win the NXT North American title. Marella also does his gimmick where he mispronounces the name of Ethan Page.

— Blake Monroe is heading to the ring for a monologue.

Blake Monroe promo turns to chaos

Monroe first cuts a promo on Booker T for mispronouncing her name last week. Monroe then shifts to cutting a promo on Jordynne Grace.

Monroe shows a picture on the big screen of Grace working as an extra, with Monroe chiding Grace’s appearance. Monroe then shows a recent picture, and she makes a crack at Grace about needing a gym membership instead of a title match.

Monroe then insists she herself is championship material. Monroe shows photos of her modeling days.

Lola Vice interrupts Monroe’s monologue, and Vice cuts a promo on Monroe. Vice talks about representing WWE in AAA and dancing with Nikki Bella at Evolution, instead of talking selfies in the locker room (which is a dig at Monroe).

Out next to interrupt the interruption is Jaida Parker. She cut a great promo about not chasing clout, she is chasing the championship.

Jordynne Grace’s music blares, but out comes Kelani Jordan instead. Not the “Jordan” you were expecting, Jordan says with a smirk. Jordan also says to expect the unexpected in WWE. Jordan hen proceeds to cut a promo on Monroe. Jordan basically challenges Monroe to a match.

Monroe accepts the challenge by threatening to put Jordan in a “local medical facility” next week. Monroe headbutts Jordan, which ignites a huge brawl. Vice and Jordan send Monroe and Parker packing, and Monroe begs off by hugging Parker, who shoves Monroe away.

— In a backstage skit with The Culling, Shawn Spears informs Tatum Paxley she has a title match next week against NXT North American Champion Sol Ruca. The Culling will be in Paxley’s corner to ensure she wins the title.

Lash Legend vs. Fallon Henley (with Jazmyn Nyx and Jacy Jayne)

Much of the match is overshadowed by a main roster run-in, as Nia Jax attacks Legend. When he fight spills outside the ring. Nyx tries to interfere, but Legend knocks her down with a punch. Legend also thwarts interference from Jayne, as Legend drops Jayne with a pump kick. Suddenly, Jax ran in to attack Legend from behind.

At a random point during the match, an image of Joe Hendry flashes across the screen. This would also happen in a later match on the card.

A stunned Legend is then rolled into the ring, where Henley executes a Rocker Dropper (famouser). Henley then covers Legend for a three count.

Fallon Henley defeated Lash Legend after interference by Nia Jax

In a post-match attack, Jax furthers her assault on Legend. Jax does a Bonsai Drop on Legend after the match.

— Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura get into an argument backstage, and they were separated. Stacks chimes in and gets slapped by Inamura. This sets up a match for next week with Inamura against Stacks.

Je’Von Evans vs. Wes Lee (with High Ryze)

TNA Champion Trick Williams is ringside for guest commentary.

They wrestle through a commercial break, and they had a great match. Big dive by Lee over the ropes to the floor before the commercial break, which leaves the babyface in peril. The high-flying action continues after the show returns from the break, and the bacyface fights back.

In the highlight of the match, Evans goes coast-to-coast with a flying dropkick as Lee is tied in a tree-of-woe. Great near fall when Evans delivers a frog splash on Lee. The finish came soon after as they go home.

Interference by Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe, but they are thwarted after a dive by Evans. Lee hits his finisher, but Evans gets a toe on the middle rope to break the hold. The idea allows Lee to save some face as he hooked Evans leg too much, which causes it to make contact with the rope. Regardless, the hold is broken.

For the finish, Evans delivers two cutters. The last cutter includes a double springboard off the ropes. Evans then covers Lee for a pinfall. Best match on the show by far.

Je’Von Evans defeated Wes Lee via pinfall

— Vic Joseph sits down with Myles Borne, who tells his emotional story of overcoming serious health conditions as a baby. Borne addresses Lexis King, accusing him of stirring the pot. Borne showcases his positive mental attitude as he describes his battles as a child on a ventilator, where he lost 90% of his hearing. Borne talks about how he could read lips to help understand people. Borne then dismisses King and tries to block him out.

— In a corresponding skit after a commercial break, Lexis King cuts a promo in Ava’s office. King again accuses Borne of faking his deafness. This sets up a match between Kind and Borne for next week on NXT.

— The Fatal Influence trio bicker in a TMZ-style interview. Suddenly, Nia Jax hijacks the interview to cut a promo on Lash Legend. Jax says Legend does not measure up.

NXT North American Champion Ethan Page vs. Santino Marella

Marella with a series of near falls at the start of the match, but Page escapes. The match also includes another mysterious video clip of Joe Hendry.

Heat spot as Page works over Marella. Fighting back, Marella does an airplane spin. Double down from there, and both are seemingly out. They rise and Marella counters Page’s finisher. Marella tries to rally, but he is dropped by a kick.

Page off the top rope with an attempted splash, but Marella gets his knees up. Comeback by Marella and he is firing up. Plancha by Marella, and he rolls Page back into the ring. Out comes The Cobra, but Page uses the referee to shield him. The ref is shoved aside. With the ref’s back turned, Page pokes Marella in the eye. Page then delivers a Twisted Grin, and Page covers Marella for a three count.

Ethan Page defeated Santino Marella to retain the North American title via pinfall.

— Closing the show is a skit with Tony D’Angelo seated at a restaurant. The cliffhanger is Tony D is seemingly being attacked when the show goes off air.

Santino Marella challenging for WWE NXT gold

TNA’s director of authority will challenge for an NXT title next week.

Wrestling under the WWE banner for the first time since a brief cameo in the 2020 women’s Royal Rumble match, Santino Marella will take on Ethan Page in an NXT North American Championship match on the Tuesday, July 29 NXT TV.

Page unveiled a new customized version of the North American Championship on this week’s episode, with a Canadian flag strap. Page strongly put over his Canadian heritage and denounced the United States in a promo on Tuesday’s live episode in Houston.

Marella interrupted and threw out a challenge for next week.

The TNA authority figure’s full-time in-ring career ended after leaving WWE in 2014, but Marella has wrestled sporadically for TNA and on the independent scene in the years since. 2025 has been his most active in-ring year since 2014, including appearances for MLP, AAA, TNA, and on the indies.

Our full coverage of this week’s NXT which also featured an appearance from The Undertaker is available here.

TNA Against All Odds notes: Trick Williams, Director of Authority, Killer Kelly

Notes from Friday’s TNA Against All Odds event.

Santino Marella defeated Robert Stone in the co-main event of the TNA+ special to retain his Director of Authority position. Despite Stone paying off special guest referee Matt Cardona in an earlier segment, Cardona kept it down the middle. Arianna Grace at ringside helped her father by throwing Stone off the turnbuckle and gave Santino a second cobra, allowing him to hit his finish on Stone for the win.

In the main event. Trick Williams retained the TNA title over Elijah thanks to the help of AJ Francis, who came to ringside towards the end of the match. He initially teased introducing Elijah’s guitar into the ring, but this was a distraction that allowed Williams to take the TNA title and blast it across Elijah’s face. Elijah did kick out, but Williams ended up sending Elijah into an exposed turnbuckle then hit the trickshot for the win.

It was a night of returns in the Knockouts division, as The IInspiration made their return during the pre-show. Killer Kelly also made her return to TNA, coming to the ring after former tag team partner Masha Slamovich retained the Knockouts title. Kelly had a chain and laid it on the floor in front of Slamovich before leaving.

Kelly took time off last year from TNA and later announced in November the birth of her and Myron Reed’s baby girl.

Santino Marella & Arianna Grace issue tag team challenge for TNA Impact

Santino Marella and Arianna Grace are looking for revenge.

In a segment that took place backstage, Marella announced he was going to talk to the higher-ups in TNA to get a match against Stone, who in recent weeks has cemented himself as the ‘sherrif’ of TNA above Marella. Arianna Grace suggested they take on Stone and Tessa Blanchard in a tag match, wanting to avenge her loss earlier in the night. The announcers hoped that the match would be made official for Thursday.

A show-long storyline at Under Siege saw Marella being bullied by Stone, who sent the TNA Director of Authority to the back before Grace’s match against Tessa Blanchard. Despite putting up a fight, Grace was unable to beat Blanchard.

One new match was added for the next episode of Impact, as Lei Ying Lee will be in action. After retaining her title over Victoria Crawford, Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich called out Lee, saying she was worthy of a title match. Lee came out and stared down the champion until Stone came out and said title matches had to be earned, and Lee will get the opportunity to do so this Thursday.

The updated lineup for TNA Impact:

TNA Impact, Thursday, May 29 —

  • International Champion Steve Maclin defends against Matt Cardona
  • Lei Ying Lee in action
