Former AEW wrestler competes for International title during TNA Genesis pre-show

A former AEW wrestler made a surprise appearance in TNA.

KJ Orso, formerly the masked Fuego del Sol, was the mystery fourth participant in a four-way match for the International title that took place during the Genesis pre-show on Saturday. He was unsuccessful in winning the title, as he took a piledriver from Eric Young and was pinned by champion Stacks after he dumped Young.

During the match, commentary noted that this wasn’t Orso’s first time in TNA, as he had previously wrestled as Fuego del Sol on a Twitch stream back in 2019.

Since leaving AEW in 2023, Orso has continued to work the independent scene including for GCW, which he wrestled for following his TNA appearance on Saturday. Last year, he lost a mask vs. career match against Atticus Cogar at Joey Janela’s Spring Break event during WrestleMania weekend. One month later, he resurfaced without his mask and turned heel, now going under his given name.

The International title match was made one day after TNA Impact premiered on AMC. In a social media post, Santino Marella said that since his daughter implied Stacks would take out anyone TNA puts in front of him, Marella said his future son-in-law would defend the title in a four-way match, keeping the last spot a mystery.

JDC wrestles final match at TNA Genesis

JDC has wrestled his final match.

In a competitive match at Saturday’s Genesis pay-per-view event, Eddie Edwards defeated JDC in what ended up being an emotional back-and forth match. Although JDC kicked out of one Boston knee party, Edwards followed it up with the Die Hard driver and went to the corner for a second. JDC, seemingly accepting this was the end, instructed Edwards to follow through. Edwards connected with the knee then pinned JDC to end his final match.

After the bell rang, the rest of The System and other babyfaces on the roster came out to applaud JDC as he recovered in the ring. He made his exit and slapped hands with fans as he made it to the stage. He posed one final time on the entrance ramp before the segment ended.

JDC had announced his retirement back in November, saying his final match would take place at Genesis. The following month, he unsuccessfully challenged then-champion Frankie Kazarian at Final Resolution for the TNA Championship. When he came out for Saturday’s match, he wore Terry Funk-style tights as a tribute.

Despite his final match taking place, JDC is still scheduled for this coming Thursday’s episode of TNA on AMC, where he and the rest of the group will introduce a new member of The System.

Starting his career in 1999, JDC is best known for his run in WWE under the name Fandango. He and Tyler Breeze formed a successful tag team, holding the NXT Tag Team titles at one point. He also won season 4 of NXT under its reality show format.

International title match added to TNA Genesis

A match for the International title is set for Genesis.

In a social media video on Friday, Santino Marella responded to claims by his daughter Ariana Grace that Stacks can beat up anyone they put in front of him. He made a four-way match for Genesis where Stacks will now defend the TNA International title against Eric Young, BDE, and a mystery person “who made their name in the great state of Texas.”

Late last year, Grace stunned TNA fans by turning against the TNA Director of Authority, choosing fiance Stacks over her own father. She later said she was tired of living in her father’s shadow and being known as Santino Marella’s daughter. She also accused him of choosing the wrestling industry over her.

Stacks won the title back at Final Resolution on December 5, defeating Steve Maclin. His most recent title defense was on Tuesday, defeating Shiloh Hill on NXT.

Curtis Culwell Center Venue Guide for TNA Genesis 2026

TNA Genesis 2026 takes over the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas on Saturday, January 17, 2026. The venue lists the event running 7 PM to 11 PM on EST, while TNA’s event listing notes doors at 5:00 PM and an event start time of 6:00 PM local time, so plan to arrive early and double check your ticket details for the exact bell-time schedule.

Curtis Culwell Center seating and best views for TNA Genesis 2026

The Curtis Culwell Center arena is built for sightlines, with a listed arena capacity up to 8,500. For wrestling, your “best seat” depends on what you value:

  • Floor seats put you closest to entrances, brawling, and ringside moments, but taller fans and signs can block views.
  • Lower bowl (the first raised seating level) is often the sweet spot for seeing the full ring and stage area clearly.
  • Upper level is usually the most budget-friendly and still fine for a full match view, especially near center lines.

If you need accessible seating, the venue notes ADA sections at the top of multiple sections (including 101, 102, 104, 106, 109, 111, and 114), plus elevators at the East entrance.

Parking at Curtis Culwell Center for TNA Genesis 2026

Parking is straightforward: the venue lists 1,700 surface-level spaces around the facility, with ADA parking near key entrances. Parking fees vary by event, and the Curtis Culwell Center notes that parking can be purchased in advance for some events.

Important detail: the Directions and Parking page states parking purchases are credit or debit card only on site.

Is Curtis Culwell Center cash or cashless?

The Curtis Culwell Center states it is a cashless facility, accepting major credit cards and Apple Pay, and it specifically notes concession stands are cashless too. Ticket purchases through the venue are also generally card-based, with cash only accepted if an event organizer requests it.

Public transport to Curtis Culwell Center

Driving and rideshare are common, but you can use public transit. Moovit lists bus line 238 stopping near the venue, with the closest bus stop shown as Naaman Forest @ Elliot, about a 4 minute walk, and it also references Downtown Garland Station as the nearest rail option (longer walk).

Bag policy and entry tips

The Curtis Culwell Center uses a clear bag policy. Clear totes must be 12″ x 6″ x 12″ or smaller, and small clutches must be no larger than 6.5″ x 4.5″. Expect screening on entry, and note that re-entry is not permitted per the venue’s visitor guide.

TNA Genesis 2026 Predictions

TNA Genesis 2026 is lined up as the first major pay per view test of the new AMC era, with multiple championships, a personal grudge match, and a retirement bout all on one card. The show takes place Saturday, January 17, 2026 at the Curtis Culwell Center, with TNA listing a 6:00 PM local start time.

Below are my TNA Genesis 2026 predictions based on the stories TNA has been building on iMPACT! and the currently advertised lineup.

TNA Genesis 2026 predicted winners

MatchPredictionQuick reason
TNA World Title: winner of Kazarian vs Santana vs Nic NemethNic NemethBiggest statement win for the new era
Knockouts World Title: Léi Yǐng Lee (c) vs Dani LunaLéi Yǐng LeeChampion momentum stays intact
World Tag Team Titles: The Hardys (c) vs The RighteousThe HardysShort turnaround favors the champs
X Division Title three way: Leon Slater (c) vs Cedric Alexander vs MooseLeon SlaterSlater survives while Moose stays protected
Rich Swann vs AJ FrancisRich SwannCleaner babyface payoff to the split
JDC vs Eddie Edwards, retirement matchEddie EdwardsThe System gets heat in the farewell
Mustafa Ali vs ElijahElijahRevenge angle points to a feel good win

World title prediction: Nic Nemeth shocks the winner

This is the one that hinges on what happens on Thursday Night iMPACT! on AMC, because the Kazarian vs Santana title match was moved off Genesis and onto the January 15 debut. Nic Nemeth will likely be challenging the winner for the TNA World Championship at Genesis.

My pick is Nemeth leaving Genesis as champion. He has been positioned as a top level threat, and he has openly teased making an immediate statement around the AMC launch. If TNA wants a headline moment that screams “new era,” a Nemeth title win two nights after the debut fits the assignment.

Knockouts and tag titles: champions hold the line

Léi Yǐng Lee vs Dani Luna feels like a classic “credible challenger, but not yet” defense. TNA has presented Lee’s reign as part of a fresh direction, and Luna’s reinvention makes her dangerous, but I think Genesis is where Lee wins a hard match and keeps momentum.

In the tag title match, The Righteous have been built as unsettling disruptors, yet The Hardys are still the safest bet to retain with the company in spotlight mode on a big weekend.

X Division: Slater survives the numbers game

The three way dynamic is perfect for a smart champion retention. Cedric Alexander has instant credibility, Moose is always a monster, and that combo lets Slater win without “beating” Moose in a direct singles sense. I’m calling Slater retaining by capitalizing on chaos, likely pinning Alexander.

The non title matches: payoffs and a ruthless goodbye

Rich Swann vs AJ Francis has been framed as friends turned enemies, so I’m taking Swann to close the book with the more satisfying babyface win.

For JDC’s retirement match, I’m picking Eddie Edwards. TNA has leaned into the emotion, and a villainous win gives them a strong angle to spin out of the farewell.

Finally, Mustafa Ali vs Elijah has been presented as a humiliation and retaliation cycle, which usually ends with the wronged side getting the big win on pay per view. Give me Elijah.

TNA Genesis 2026 Card: Every confirmed match.

TNA Genesis 2026 is shaping up as a title heavy night with a retirement bout, multiple grudge matches, and several major championships on the line. The pay per view takes place Saturday, January 17, 2026 at the Curtis Culwell Center in the Dallas area, with TNA listing a 6:00 PM local start time.

Below is the full Genesis 2026 card as officially advertised right now, plus the latest on the still unresolved TNA World Title situation heading into the weekend.

Championship matches to watch

The title picture is busy, starting with Lei Yǐng Lee defending the Knockouts World Championship against Dani Luna, a matchup TNA positioned as a collision between a champion leading “a new era” and a challenger who has turned more dangerous in recent months.

On the tag side, The Hardys put the TNA World Tag Team Titles on the line against The Righteous after weeks of mind games escalated into an official title challenge.

And in the X Division, Leon Slater’s defense is a true pressure test, with Cedric Alexander earning his shot and Moose inserting himself by reminding everyone he never used a rematch clause.

Grudges and the retirement match

Rich Swann vs AJ Francis is a straight up personal fight after the Fir$t Cla$$ partnership imploded and the former allies turned on each other.

Mustafa Ali vs Elijah is also locked in after their rivalry spilled into humiliations and attacks, setting up a straightforward score settling match on Genesis.

Then there is the emotional centerpiece: JDC vs Eddie Edwards, officially billed as JDC’s final match before retiring from in ring competition.

What is happening with the TNA World Title match?

The big question is Kazarian’s Genesis opponent. TNA’s AMC debut episode of Thursday Night iMPACT! on January 15 is headlined by Frankie Kazarian defending the TNA World Championship against Mike Santana, and TNA has stated the winner of that match is set to defend the championship at Genesis two nights later.

That is why many listings still show the Genesis world title match as TBD right now, with the final direction hinging on what happens on January 15 and any post match developments.

Is TNA Genesis 2026 on TV or Streaming? How to watch

TNA Genesis 2026 is a pay per view event, which means it is not the same as watching the weekly iMPACT! TV show. Genesis takes place on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 6:00 PM local time in Texas (Central Time).

If you are trying to figure out whether TNA Genesis 2026 is on TV or streaming, the short version is this: you can stream it online via TNA+, and it is also available through selected traditional PPV providers.

Watch TNA Genesis 2026 on streaming with TNA+

The most straightforward way to watch Genesis is through TNA+, which is TNA Wrestling’s official streaming service. TNA’s own event listing for Genesis points viewers to “Watch on TNA+,” making it the primary online option.

In practical terms, you will want to download the TNA+ app (or use the web player), sign in, and then purchase or access the event from the Genesis listing. TNA also tends to bundle major events and programming in the same ecosystem, so if you already use TNA+ for weekly shows and archives, it keeps everything in one place.

Watch TNA Genesis 2026 on TrillerTV

Another major streaming home for Genesis is TrillerTV, which is carrying an official TNA Genesis 2026 live stream listing for the event. If TrillerTV is your usual platform for combat sports or wrestling PPVs, you can purchase the show there and watch on supported devices.

TrillerTV is also listing a “Countdown to Genesis 2026” pre show as a free live stream, which is useful if you want to sample the coverage before the main card begins.

Is TNA Genesis 2026 on cable or satellite PPV?

Yes, Genesis is also being positioned as available via traditional linear PPV providers, depending on where you live and which TV service you use. Coverage guides for TNA’s 2026 schedule list Genesis as watchable on TNA+ plus “traditional linear PPV providers.” The best move is to check your on screen PPV menu or your provider’s PPV store and search “TNA Genesis.”

What about watching Genesis on regular TV?

TNA’s weekly iMPACT! programming is on a regular TV schedule (and in 2026 it is launching on AMC), but Genesis is a separate PPV event. If you are seeing iMPACT! on your TV guide, that does not automatically mean Genesis will air on the same channel.

First TNA Genesis matches official

The first matches for TNA Wrestling’s first pay-per-view of 2026 are official, including a World title rematch.

TNA made two matches for the Saturday, January 17 Genesis event official during this week’s Impact episode, including Frankie Kazarian defending the TNA World Championship against Mike Santana. The World title bout is a rematch from the November 13 Impact episode where Kazarian defeated Santana for the gold in what was ostensibly his first title defense, a bout with Ryan Nemeth that went to a no contest moments before notwithstanding.

In another bout for Genesis, JDC will take to the ring for what is billed as his retirement match against his The System stablemate Eddie Edwards.

Genesis takes place from Garland, Texas on Saturday, January 17 on TNA Plus and pay-per-view.

TNA Genesis, Saturday, January 17, 2026 —

A pre-sale for tickets will be held on Tuesday, December 9, with tickets going on sale to the general public on Thursday, December 11. The event will be available on pay-per-view in addition to streaming on TNA Plus.

TNA Impact match for Thursday, December 11 —

A dog collar match is set for this Thursday’s Impact episode.

Stemming from a post-match angle following the Knockouts World title bout between Lei Ying Lee and Xia Brookside at Final Resolution, the dog collar match will feature Indi Hartwell taking on Dani Luna.

WWE NXT angle —

Final Resolution closed with a brawl between WWE NXT wrestlers and members of the TNA roster, including authority figure Santino Marella.

Marella was laid out by his daughter’s fiance Stacks, who also won the TNA International title from Steve Maclin earlier in the program.

TNA announces first pay-per-view of 2026

TNA Wrestling will kick off a new year once again with a Genesis pay-per-view.

During Sunday’s Bound for Glory, the promotion announced the 2026 edition of Genesis will emanate from “Dallas” this January, but didn’t reveal the actual date, location or ticket information.

Based on last year’s Genesis, the event could once again emanate from the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland.

The first Genesis took place in November 2005 and was held in the same month for two more years before transitioning to January in 2009. Next year’s edition will be their 11th after they revived the name this year after a four-year absence. The Hard to Kill name that had been associated with their January PPVs appears to be staying in IP mothballs for some time to come.

Remaining 2025 TNA pay-per-views/streaming events:

  • Turning Point streaming special on Friday, November 13 from Orlando, Florida’s Full Sail University
  • Final Resolution streaming special on Friday, December 5 from El Paso, Texas’ Coliseum
