VIDEO: Being The Elite – ‘Elite Game’

Video —

This week on Being The Elite —

This year’s Halloween episode was a parody of Netflix’s Squid Game. It probably made more sense if you have seen Squid Game, but you can easily follow the episode if you have not.

The Elite opened the show in a hotel room, commiserating after their defeat on AEW Dynamite. Jokes were made about tossed salads and Brandon Cutler’s internet search history.

Cutler received a business card with a phone number on the back. He called the number and was invited to play a game as a way to make up for the massive debt he said he’s gone into trying to keep up with The Young Bucks shoe purchases.

Cutler is picked up in a van to be transported to play the game. Michael Nakazawa and Lulu Pencil were already in the van, passed out. Cutler was given some sort of sleeping gas and passed out as well.

The next scene opens with Cutler, Nakazawa, Pencil, plus Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen of Private Party waking up. A video from a masked figure (Kenny Omega) told them that the game they were about to play was for as much money as an AEW wrestler who used to be in WWE makes.

The game commenced. The losing player after each round was “killed.” I won’t spoil the winner.

After the game, Omega “killed” The Young Bucks and Adam Cole.

Jon Moxley, new Orange Cassidy music set for AEW Dark: Elevation

This story was updated at 8 PM Eastern.

Orange Cassidy & Chuck Taylor will take on Ryan Nemeth & JD Drake on this Monday’s episode of AEW Dark: Elevation with the match set to be taped before tonight’s Dynamite, according to Tony Khan.

Khan also tweeted that Cassidy will debut new entrance music for the match:

“For the fans attending tonight’s LIVE #AEWDynamite here in Jacksonville at @dailysplace, we’ll tape one of the top matches for next week’s #AEWDark: Elevation, Chuckie T/@orangecassidy v. Nemeth/Drake! Also 1st time anyone’s heard the new Orange Cassidy theme; I promise it’s dope”

Khan clarified that his new theme will not be “Jane” by Jefferson Starship. Khan tweeted that he had tried to buy the rights to that song, but had not heard back.

“It’s not Jane. I’d tried to get it for a year & a half, they never even answered my emails, so I decided to take a huge swing & it came through. It’s a new theme. The fans attending #AEWDynamite tonight in Jacksonville will be the first to ever hear it before we go Live on TNT!”

As fans tweeted, the song is “Where Is My Mind?” by The Pixies.

Drake is a veteran indie wrestler who has made four appearances on AEW Dark this year, most recently defeating Fuego Del Sol Tuesday. On Monday, after Cassidy beat Nemeth, Drake ran out to help Nemeth after Taylor prevented a post-match attack.

Just as Dynamite started, Khan tweeted that Jon Moxley also wrestled a match for Elevation.

A new singles match featuring Jon Moxley has been announced for Dynamite.

AEW confirmed on social media this afternoon that Jon Moxley will face Ryan Nemeth in a singles match. Nemeth has appeared on Dynamite in recent weeks, losing to the likes of PAC and Hangman Page.

This comes following the end of this week’s episode of Dynamite. After Moxley, Rey Fenix, and Lance Archer defeated The Butcher, The Blade, and Eddie Kingston, AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and the Good Brothers (Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows) attacked Moxley. Omega told Moxley that he would get a rematch for the AEW World title, but it would be under an exploding barbed wire death match.

Also announced for next week:

This will be Page’s first singles match since the November 19th Dynamite when he beat John Silver, his first match after losing to Kenny Omega in the AEW World title eliminator tournament finals.
