JAS’ Angelo Parker & Matt Menard sign AEW contract extensions

Two key members of the Jericho Appreciation Society have also been appreciated by AEW as 2point0 (Angelo Parker and Matt Menard) have signed contract extensions.

Fightful first reported the news Friday. No terms were disclosed.

After the former Ever-Rise in WWE NXT were released in the summer of 2021 less than two weeks after signing new deals, the two made their AEW debut in early August in a trios match with Daniel Garcia. The announcement of their full-time deals came shortly after.

The two became part of Chris Jericho’s new JAS faction in March after Jericho turned on Santana & Ortiz to officially end the Inner Circle.

Menard hasn’t been in action since June’s Blood & Guts cage match, but recently did some commentary on Dark. He revealed that he suffered a torn labrum, rotator cuff and partial shoulder tear in the match.

Parker has wrestled just twice since then, once in a July Dark match and on a Canadian indie show in August.

2point0 given new names on AEW Dynamite

2point0 were given new names on tonight’s AEW Dynamite.

During tonight’s Jericho Appreciation Society segment, Jericho said that Jeff Parker and Matt Lee, 2point0, would no longer be using those names, saying they were “bad names from bad creative”. Jericho then referred to them as “Daddy Magic” Matt Minard (Matt Lee) and “Cool Hand Ang” Angelo Parker (Jeff Parker). Jericho explained during the segment that he became aware of the former 2point0 thanks to a call from his friend, Kevin, possibly referring to Kevin Owens.

Tonight’s segment had Jericho saying he was not a professional wrestler, but a sports entertainer, which is the term WWE uses to refer to their wrestlers. He brought up how 2point0 appreciates him, and how Daniel Garcia appreciated him, referring to a car accident from January 2019 that Garcia was involved in where Jericho donated money towards his recovery. Jericho also brought up Jake Hager, calling him his ride or die and said he was “the hand of the king”. He ended the segment saying that this date commenced the era of the sports entertainer in AEW.

Jericho’s group formed last week after Jericho turned on Santana and Ortiz of the Inner Circle, as well as Eddie Kingston. After being attacked with Jericho’s baseball bat, the new group powerbombed Kingston through a table.

Jericho Appreciation Society commencement added to AEW Dynamite

A segment featuring AEW’s newest faction has been added to this week’s Dynamite.

Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite will feature the “Jericho Appreciation Society commencement.” The group, which formed last week, consists of Chris Jericho, Jake Hager, 2point0 (Matt Lee & Jeff Parker), and Daniel Garcia.

Jericho and Hager turned against their former Inner Circle stablemates Santana and Ortiz last week and joined 2point0 and Garcia in beating down Eddie Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz.

The turn came after Jericho lost to Kingston at Revolution.

This Wednesday’s Dynamite is a special St. Patrick’s Day Slam edition of the show. It’s taking place in San Antonio, Texas and is being headlined by Thunder Rosa challenging for Britt Baker’s AEW Women’s World Championship in a steel cage match.

The updated lineup for the episode is listed below:

  • Steel cage match: AEW Women’s World Champion Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. defends against Thunder Rosa
  • TNT Champion Scorpio Sky defends against Wardlow
  • AEW World Champion Hangman Page & AEW Tag Team Champions Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus vs. Adam Cole, Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly
  • Jon Moxley & Bryan Danielson (w/ William Regal) vs. Chuck Taylor & Wheeler Yuta (w/ Orange Cassidy and Danhausen)

Chris Jericho forms ‘Jericho Appreciation Society’ group on AEW Dynamite

Chris Jericho formed the “Jericho Appreciation Society” on tonight’s AEW Dynamite, turning on Inner Circle stablemates Santana and Ortiz.

Jericho turned on Santana, Ortiz, and Eddie Kingston after he attacked them with a baseball bat, joining forces with 2point0 and Daniel Garcia who originally attacked Jericho and Kingston. After they powerbombed Kingston through a table, Jericho announced the formation of the Jericho Appreciation Society.

Tonight’s episode of Dynamite opened with Jericho asking Eddie Kingston to come out, seemingly remorseful for not shaking Kingston’s hand like he said he would after Kingston defeated him at Revolution. After the two exchanged words, they shook hands. 2point0 and Daniel Garcia then arrived, attacking Jericho and Kingston. Santana and Ortiz came for the save and set up one of 2point0 to be attacked with Jericho’s baseball bat. However, Jericho instead attacked Santana and Ortiz with the bat. When Jake Hager ran in, he sided with Jericho, attacking Santana, Ortiz, and Kingston.

Dissension had formed between Jericho and Inner Circle members Santana and Ortiz in recent weeks. It eventually led to a match, where Ortiz and Santana defeated Jericho and Hager in a tag team match on the February 16 edition of Dynamite.

No DQ, no holds barred six-man tag announced for AEW Rampage

AEW has announced the first match for the Friday, January 7 edition of Rampage.

In a rematch from this past week’s Dynamite, Eddie Kingston, Santana and Ortiz will face Daniel Garcia and 2point0’s Matt Lee and Jeff Parker. This time, the bout will have a no DQ, no holds barred stipulation.

Garcia and 2point0 defeated Kingston, Santana and Ortiz on the Dynamite New Year’s Smash episode after Lee pinned Santana with a roll-up. The match further served as a backdrop to the beginnings of a Kingston-Chris Jericho feud, as Jericho made the save for Kingston, Santana and Ortiz after the match, clearing the ring with a baseball bat.

The January 7 Rampage will be preceded by Dynamite’s TBS debut on Wednesday, January 5, and followed by a Battle of the Belts special on TNT on Saturday, January 8. The AEW World title will be on the line on Dynamite, as Hangman Page defends against Bryan Danielson. Dr. Britt Baker will defend the AEW Women’s World title against Riho at Battle of the Belts.

AEW Rampage spoilers from Garland, Texas

AEW taped matches for this Friday’s Rampage following tonight’s AEW Dynamite in Garland, Texas:

  • Trent, Chuck Taylor, Orange Cassidy, and Rocky Romero defeated The Young Bucks, Bobby Fish, and Adam Cole in an eight-man tag team match. Trent pinned Fish to win the match.
  • Dan Lambert returned to AEW and cut a promo. He was interrupted by Cody Rhodes. This eventually led to Men of the Year (Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page) jumping Cody. Dustin Rhodes came out to even things, but was also attacked until Sammy Guevara made the save.
  • Tay Conti defeated Penelope Ford in a submission match.
  • Daniel Garcia, The Acclaimed, and 2point0 defeated Eddie Kingston, Santana, Ortiz, and The Lucha Bros. in a ten-man tag match.

AEW next week will be holding AEW Dynamite and taping Rampage at the Greensboro Coliseum in North Carolina. Matches already announced for Dynamite include MJF & FTR vs. Darby Allin, Sting, and CM Punk in a six-man tag match and Malakai Black vs. Griff Garrison.

Eddie Kingston & Jon Moxley vs. 2point0 set for AEW Dynamite

Eddie Kingston and Jon Moxley are scheduled for action this Wednesday on Dynamite.

“Before Moxley & Kingston answer for The Suzuki Incident, what Suzuki-gun @suzuki_D_minoru + Lance Archer perceived as disrespect last week to the legend Suzuki, tomorrow night Mox & Eddie will try to settle the score for last month’s savage attack by 2point0 LIVE on #AEWDynamite!,”AEW wrote on social media when announcing the bout.

The Suzuki Incident refers to the singles match last week between Jon Moxley and Minoru Suzuki that had to be cut short due to time restraints. Suzuki’s music was also cut off early during his entrance.

Prior to All Out, Kingston and Moxley had been feuding with 2point0 and Daniel Garcia. They teamed with Darby Allin on the August 4 edition of AEW Dynamite where they defeated the trio.

Matt Lee and Jeff Parker of 2point0 officially sign with AEW

Matt Lee and Jeff Parker are All Elite.

AEW President Tony Khan tweeted today that he has officially signed the 2point0 duo.

Khan tweeted:

After they arrived in #AEW and called out the toughest competition from day one and then survived a brutal Texas Tornado match last night on #AEWDynamite, there is no doubt: Matt Lee and Jeff Parker, #2point0 are #AllElite! #2forTheShow -@TonyKhan

Lee and Parker’s various tag team iterations go back to 2002, when they began teaming as Under Construction. They would later work as 2.0, Badd Boys, 3.0 and then Ever-Rise in NXT. Both were released from WWE on June 25, 2021.

Lee and Parker made their in-ring AEW debuts on the August 4 Homecoming episode of Dynamite, teaming with Daniel Garcia in a trios match against Jon Moxley, Darby Allin and Eddie Kingston.

Parker and Lee faced Sting and Darby Allin in a tornado tag team bout on this week’s Dynamite in another losing effort.

Parker and Lee have racked up three wins on AEW Dark and AEW Dark Elevation, but remain winless on Dynamite.
