Penta & Bron Breakker vs. Judgment Day, New Day match set for WWE Raw

New additions have been made to the lineup for Monday’s edition of WWE Raw.

On Sunday, General Manager Adam Pearce published a video announcing a tag match pitting Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker & Penta against Judgment Day’s Finn Balor & Dominik Mysterio. This comes after Judgment Day interfered in last week’s Intercontinental title match between Breakker and Penta.

Pearce also revealed that New Day’s Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods will be in action, though their opponents have yet to be named.

Pearce says in the video:

“Off of the chaos of last week, the Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker teams with Penta to take on Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and Dirty Dom Mysterio. Plus Jimmy Uso, one-on-one with the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. And after running their mouth in my office last week, New Day will be in action tomorrow night live at the O2. Plus AJ Styles, Logan Paul and John Cena face to face with Cody Rhodes. What will happen? Find out tomorrow night, it’s Monday Night Raw.”

Monday’s Raw is scheduled for the O2 Arena in London, England. It will air live on Netflix beginning at 3 p.m. Eastern time.

WWE Raw advertised lineup for Monday, March 31, 2025:

  • Women’s World Champion IYO SKY defends against Rhea Ripley (Bianca Belair special guest referee)
  • Gunther vs. Jimmy Uso
  • Logan Paul calls out AJ Styles
  • John Cena & Cody Rhodes face-to-face
  • New Day’s Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston in action
  • Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker & Penta vs. Judgment Day (Finn Balor & Dominik Mysterio)

Penta vs. Bron Breakker Intercontinental Championship match set for WWE Raw

Two matches have been added to the lineup for WWE Raw.

Bron Breakker defending his Intercontinental Championship against Penta is now scheduled for the show. Penta issued a challenge to Breakker for a title match on last week’s Raw, and later helped Breakker fend off an attack by Judgment Day in the show’s final segment.

Dragon Lee vs. Chad Gable has also been confirmed for Raw. This match comes after someone wearing a lucha mask and resembling Gable has been attacking members of the LWO for the last three weeks.

General Manager Adam Pearce announced the news in a social media post on Sunday:

“Breaking news: Tomorrow night live on Raw, the Intercontinental Championship’s on the line. Bron Breakker one-on-one with Penta. Plus, Dragon Lee finally gets his hands on Chad Gable and Lyra Valkyria puts her Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the line against Raquel Rodriguez.”

Monday’s show is scheduled to take place at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. It will air live on Netflix beginning at 4 p.m. Eastern Time.

WWE Raw (Monday, March 24) —

  • Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria defends against Raquel Rodriguez
  • Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker defends against Penta
  • Dragon Lee vs. Chad Gable
  • CM Punk appears
  • Jey Uso and a mystery partner vs. A-Town Down Under (Grayson Waller & Austin Theory)
  • Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes & John Cena appear

Penta challenges Bron Breakker to WWE Intercontinental title match

Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker might have his challenger for WrestleMania 41.

Monday’s episode of Raw made clear that Penta is next in line to challenge Breakker for the IC title. After Breakker retained against Finn Balor in tonight’s main event, the show-closing angle saw Penta save Breakker from an attack by The Judgment Day. They worked together to take out Dominik Mysterio and Carlito, then Breakker and Penta went face-to-face as the episode ended.

Penta defeated Ludwig Kaiser in a no DQ match earlier in the night and gave a post-match interview where he declared that his next goal is to win the Intercontinental title. An official announcement of the Breakker vs. Penta match has not been made yet — and WWE has not confirmed if it will be one-on-one.

If the match is booked for WrestleMania 41, it will be both Breakker and Penta’s WrestleMania debut. Penta has not been pinned or submitted since joining WWE this January.

A two-time Intercontinental Champion, Breakker’s current reign began in October 2024. He retained against Balor on Raw tonight after botched interference by Dominik, who accidentally caused Balor to lose his balance on the top rope. A Frankensteiner and spear then got the win for Breakker.

Penta names WWE dream opponents: John Cena, Finn Balor, more

Now that he’s in WWE, Penta has a list of opponents he’s looking forward to facing.

Penta told Insight with Chris Van Vliet that John Cena, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Finn Balor are some of his dream opponents in WWE. He’d like to wrestle CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, and Jacob Fatu again as well after previously facing them in AEW or on the indies.

“I have a few names, but the truth is, no matter who is in the ring, no matter what he won, I want to win everything in WWE. John Cena, Punk, Cody, Seth Rollins, The Tribal Chief [Roman Reigns], [Jacob] Fatu,” Penta said. “A lot of wrestlers I want for Penta. Because for example with CM Punk I had one match, he won, I need revenge. The rematch with him — with Cody too. But for me, a special dream match is Penta vs. John Cena or Penta vs. Finn Balor.”

Penta agreed with Van Vliet that Rey Mysterio and Bron Breakker would also be good opponents. Breakker is the current Intercontinental Champion, and WWE has teased Penta as a potential challenger.

Last weekend, Mysterio and Penta were the first two entrants in the men’s Royal Rumble match. Penta made it more than 40 minutes before being eliminated by Balor.

Since debuting for WWE last month, Penta has gotten victories over Chad Gable, Pete Dunne, and Ludwig Kaiser.

Wednesday Update

WWE

  • The full Oba Femi & Trick Williams vs. A-Town Down Under main event from last night’s NXT can be watched here.
  • WWE uploaded post-show interviews with Charlotte Flair and JDC (the former Fandango) after NXT.
  • In an interview with CBS Sports that was conducted before the Royal Rumble, Penta responded to reports that WWE has very high hopes for him and is excited about what he brings to the table in the ring and in merchandise sales:
    • It’s very surprising for me. Last night someone called me to tell me how many of my masks WWE sold. I said, ‘Wow! Really? This number?!’
    • I remember 20 years ago when I started this dream. The most important thing was I never doubted my talent, passion or anything. Now I’m living the dream.
  • Penta said he feels comfortable as either a singles wrestler or in a tag team:
    • I’m very comfortable because Penta myself in the ring is more aggressive, you know? More violent – more different style around the world. But when my brother is with me with the tag team, it’s different. More dynamic, you know? More special, more high-flyer. This is the difference, but I feel comfortable [with] both.
  • Director Chris Killian explained to Comicbook.com why Seth Rollins’ character was cut from his “Captain America: Brave New World” film. Killian said he decided to take the Serpent Society (which Rollins would have been part of) in a different direction after actor Giancarlo Esposito became available:
    • You know, when you’re taking characters like Serpent Society from publishing, who, as you know, are individuals dressed up as snakes and have snake adjacent powers, you’re always iterating and trying to figure out the version that totally works best in a movie like this. I love Seth, Seth’s incredible. But as we were evolving and we knew we had an additional photography period, just one that we did early on in the process that’s planned. We were trying to figure out, ‘Hey, who’s somebody that can bring a very specific kind of gravitas that works with this tone.’ And when Giancarlo became available, it was such a no brainer. I have a very particular history with him. He’s iconic for working with Spike Lee. I interned with Spike Lee when I was 19 years old.
    • And of course, fans have been fan-casting him for a long time in the MCU. So it’s really about making sure that all the elements worked in the grounded tone and vision that I have for this film. And as we evolved and iterated, Giancarlo just made sense. And what a blessing to have in this film.
  • The Undertaker addressed whether he felt bad for Hulk Hogan after Hogan got booed at Raw’s Netflix premiere:
    • I got feelings for people. Sometimes, in life, things come back. He was bigger than life, Americana kind of deal, then he gets caught on tape saying some derogatory, racist things. In this day and age, where all of that is such a hot-button deal, I don’t know what you expect. People are going to react, and they are not going to react in a positive way.
  • Lyra Valkyria joined Sheamus on this week’s edition of Celtic Warrior Workouts.
  • No-Contest Wrestling put out a new episode featuring conversations with Roman Reigns & Paul Heyman, LA Knight, Bayley, New Day, and Carlito from Royal Rumble weekend.
  • WWE produced a video with commentary teams from around the world reacting to Jey Uso’s Royal Rumble win.

Other Wrestling

  • While speaking with TV Insider, Tony Khan was asked about his approach when it comes to working with others and collaborating with talent to formulate AEW creative:
    • I love working with talented people. I really do enjoy the creative collaboration. It’s a really exciting time for AEW. We’ve been on a strong run of shows. We kicked off 2025 with a very successful debut on Max and had some great shows to launch this new era of simulcasting. I love pro wrestling so much. I’m very focused on the shows each week. Seeing some of our greatest stars return to the fold and adding some very exciting stories. There have been stars who have been there from the beginning and flourishing right now. In particular, the return of Kenny Omega. There was also Will Ospreay and Ricochet and many others. I think it’s a great mix of some of AEW’s greatest names ever. One of the great things about AEW is our wrestlers seizing an opportunity. I believe AEW is where the best wrestle. When they latch on to something special, it’s amazing to see how far they’ll take it.
    • I’m very impressed by both a long-time star and former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland and Ricochet, who is a relative newcomer in AEW and arrived on a big stage at All In London. I offered a new opportunity for Ricochet in recent months and am so impressed how he has seized it. In November, when we announced the Continental Classic participants and upcoming matches, I made an opening for Ricochet. What he did with it was very impressive. I thought Ricochet had one of the strongest stories coming out of the Continental Classic with Swerve Strickland. There are a  lot of times it’s possible to create specific opportunities for wrestlers to thrive, but it’s really a testament to the wrestlers and their talent when they seize those opportunities and score big. I love collaborating with talent and giving them those opportunities and trying to take the best ideas. My own ideas or suggestions that people make along the way, either the staff or wrestler’s themselves and trying to build the best version of it.
  • NJPW’s English-language website posted an in-character interview with Gabe Kidd. He said he wants a rematch against Kenny Omega when the time is right:
    • I’ll give him credit. He isn’t the phony I thought he was, or that I said he was before. He is the best of the best and that’s who I deserve to be in the ring with. He got me, but I do want round two.
    • When the time is right, I do [want a rematch]. And you know, it’ll be harder a second time. Tokyo Dome was his first match back, his first step back into the wrestling ring. A second time and he’ll be more confident, he’ll have been wrestling consistently. There’s no doubt, I could feel and you can see watching the match back that he was nervous in there. It’s a credit to him as a wrestler that he was able to beat me, because I was 100%. It’s given me things to work on, and that’s what I’m doing with my coaches, so next time we face off I’ll be 100% better than the 100% I was then.
  • MLW announced that Summer of the Beasts 2025 will take place from the Melrose Ballroom in New York City on Thursday, June 26. Tickets are going on sale next Tuesday (February 11) at 10 a.m. Eastern time.

    • Fans and competitors alike are eager to hear from Exo as she addresses her reign, potential challengers, and the ever-evolving landscape of MLW’s women’s division. Will a new contender emerge to step up to The God Queen, or does Exo have her own plans for SuperFight?

Penta: Chad Gable is ‘one of the best wrestlers in the world’

Penta is grateful that Chad Gable helped make his WWE debut such a success.

Following his departure from AEW, Penta debuted for WWE in impressive fashion with a victory over Gable on the January 13 episode of Raw. While appearing on Busted Open Radio ahead of the Royal Rumble, Penta reflected on what a special moment his debut was for him. Penta called it an amazing night, a dream come true, and a turning point in his career. He had huge praise for Gable, calling him one of the best wrestlers in the world.

“Chad Gable, this match with Chad Gable — turning point in my career. Because Chad Gable is one of the best wrestlers in the world,” Penta said. “Oh man, very professional. He has something like me. The very passion for this business, you know? Thank you, Chad. I said after my match: Thank you, Chad. Because you is the person — the turning point in my career.”

The match was also a special moment for Gable, who said he “felt so alive” facing Penta and was reminded why he fell in love with wrestling as a child.

Penta is set to compete in his first Royal Rumble tomorrow (February 1). Gable has also been confirmed as one of the entrants for the men’s Rumble match.

Chad Gable on WWE Raw match vs. Penta: ‘I felt so alive’

Chad Gable has commented on his match against Penta from WWE Raw on Monday.

The debuting Penta was revealed as Gable’s mystery opponent in the opening contest of last night’s show. Penta won the match with a Penta Driver in just over 13 minutes, with his family seated in the front row at ringside.

On Tuesday morning, Gable took to social media to say he “felt so alive” last night.

“I detest Penta, luchadores, and losing. But last night was a reminder as to why I fell in love with this beautiful artistic expression of physicality and the sport of Professional Wrestling when I was 5 years old and have been obsessed with it ever since. I felt so alive.”

The Gable vs. Penta match on WWE Raw this week was covered by our own Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer on last night’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio.

“I thought the match was great. It was the right crowd. They kept shooting (Penta’s) daughters crying at ringside. They were so happy. He was clearly so happy,” Meltzer said on the show.

“Man, this guy came off as a megastar,” Alvarez added.
