We got our cold open promos from the four men in the Grand Slam Eliminator Tournament. Elton John played us in before Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness welcomed us to the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio.

AEW International Title Match – Jon Moxley defeated Action Andretti to retain

A fortunate coincidence that Moxley’s Collision debut came in Ohio. The announcers made it clear that Orange Cassidy’s reign as champion elevated the title to main event status. Having a bonafide main event player in Moxley hold the title only solidifies those statements. Keep an eye on Moxley’s knee, as that could be a target for future challengers.

In an inset promo during his entrance, Moxley wished Andretti luck, but noted that fighting Moxley in Ohio is like fighting Superman on the surface of the sun. Moxley sent Andretti retreating to the floor after a chop. Andretti fought back with chops of his own, but Moxley sent him to the floor again with a boot to the face. Moxley brought Andretti back into the ring, but Andretti cut him off with a handspring before following Moxley to the floor with a dive.

Moxley peppered Andretti with headbutts before throwing him back into the ring but jammed his knee on a move attempt off of the ropes. Andretti sent Moxley to the floor and hit a split-legged moonsault to the outside. Andretti side-stepped a Moxley charge, with Moxley sending himself into the stairs as Kelly sent us to a picture-in-picture commercial.

Back from the commercial, Moxley side-stepped an Andretti dive before hitting a dive of his own. The announcers talked about this being Moxley’s third title match of the week as Moxley nursed his knee. Andretti made some space, but springboarded directly into a Moxley cutter for a nearfall. Moxley caught Andretti on a handspring elbow attempt with a choke, but Andretti hit a dropkick and a falcon arrow for a nearfall.

Andretti landed on his feet on a German suplex attempt off the second rope. They traded shotgun dropkicks before Andretti hit a corkscrew splash on Moxley for a nearfall. Andretti went for the BCC stomps, but Moxley used his own feet to spin Andretti into a rear naked choke to score the win and retain the title.

In a pre-tape, Roderick Strong talked about his friendship with Adam Cole through their days in the Ring of Honor locker room. Strong said that Cole had changed over their time in AEW, especially with his friendship with MJF. Strong said that Cole abandoned him when Strong needed him the most. He said he was still willing to make amends with Cole, and that he just wanted his friend back.

We got a recap of Samoa Joe and MJF’s confrontation from Dynamite.

AEW TBS Title Match – Kris Statlander defeated Robyn Renegade (w/ Charlette Renegade) to retain

The Renegades looked good here, and Jade Cargill’s return sets up an easy rematch for one of AEW’s big upcoming shows.

Statlander was in firm control early on, stuffing a monkey flip and turning it into a German suplex. Charlette Renegade cut off a running Statlander, allowing Robyn to hit a boot in the corner to take control. Charlette choked Statlander on the ropes as Robyn took the referee’s attention.

Statlander fired back up, hitting a Blue Thunder Bomb for a nearfall. Renegade missed a big boot in the corner, allowing Statlander to hit an elevator drop. After hitting Charlette with a forearm to knock her off the apron, Statlander scored the win with an O’Connor Roll.

After the match, Charlette chop-blocked Statlander, leading to a double-team beatdown. Jade Cargill made her return, getting a huge pop in the process. Cargill took out both Renegades before helping Statlander to her feet. Cargill then snatched Statlander up and dropped her with Jaded before posing with the TBS Title.

Backstage, Renee Paquette was with Saraya & Ruby Soho. Soho was upset about Toni Storm costing her the TBS Title at All Out, but Saraya calmed her down. Saraya said that she would return to Arthur Ashe Stadium – the building she debuted in – as champion.

Tony Schiavone sat down backstage with Claudio Castagnoli & Eddie Kingston. Castagnoli claimed not to remember how the issues between him and Kingston started, with Kingston saying that he was lying. Kingston said the problems started with Castagnoli leaving the independents before giving Kingston a match and doing business. Kingston challenged Castagnoli to a title-for-title match at Grand Slam, with both the ROH World Championship and the NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship on the line. Castagnoli accepted with one caveat. Kingston had to shake his hand once Castagnoli beat him. The heat for that match should be off the charts.

Bullet Club Gold (Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn, & Juice Robinson) defeated Aero Star, Dios Del Inframundo, Gravity

You may remember Dios Del Inframundo as Drago from Lucha Underground. He changed his name after his recent departure from AAA. Robinson sat down “Cardblade” and a plaque naming Robinson the “Collision Cowboy of the Month.” The Gunns took care of Gravity and Inframundo before Robinson tagged in to a huge reaction. Andrade El Idolo was seen watching backstage as the luchadors gained an advantage over Robinson. Austin Gunn hooked Robinson’s waist on an Irish Whip, with Colton Gunn taking down Aero Star and Gravity with lariats as we went to the commercial.

Back from the commercial, Gravity fought to make the tag to Aero Star. Aero Star ran wild, using unique rope moves to take out the Gunns. But the Gunns came back to take control, taking out Aero Star and Gravity before feeding Inframundo to Robinson. Robinson scored the win with his DDT variant.

In a pre-tape, CJ Perry talked about being Miro’s first sacrifice on his road to redemption. She calls Miro stubborn for not accepting the help she offered at All Out. She accepted that Miro had to go down his road, but she had to take her own road as well. She said that at one point, she was the hottest manager in wrestling and that maybe it was time for her to re-take that mantle.

The Dark Order had some type of commercial at the merch stand. It was odd.

The Acclaimed talked about their recent World Tour, which started in London and continued to Chicago. They said that they would be in New York for Grand Slam, before taking over the world.

Rey Fenix (w/ Alex Abrahantes) defeated Angelico (w/ Serpentico)

In an inset promo, Fenix said that he was looking for revenge against Moxley for taking him out before All In. Fenix quickly sent Angelico to the floor, where he hit a tope suicida. Serpentico tried to set up a misdirection, but Fenix hit Angelico with a big kick off the apron. Angelico took control of Fenix’s arm before hitting a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Fenix came back with a lucha armdrag, a double stomp, and a frog splash for a nearfall. Angelico caught Fenix with a flash pin, but Fenix kicked out and dropped Angelico with a superkick. Fenix walked the ropes to boot Serpentico off the apron before hitting a rolling cutter to Angelico. Fenix scored the win with the Fenix Driver.

Tony Schiavone was backstage with FTR. Harwood said that to be the best team, they needed to defend the titles against the best teams. He announced the FTR World Tag Team Challenge, where they would defend their titles against any young team that wanted to challenge.

AEW World Title Grand Slam Eliminator Tournament Semi-Final Match – Roderick Strong (w/ Mike Bennett & Matt Taven) defeated Darby Allin (w/ Nick Wayne & AR Fox)

This match was everything I hoped it would be, with Strong ragdolling Allin around and destroying him with backbreakers. The Allin/Wayne/Fox story continues, and with the WrestleDream PPV in Seattle looming, I assume we’ll get more to this story.

As Allin was skating his way to the ring, Luchasaurus jumped him. Christian Cage said that Allin was only in this tournament because he was never going to win the TNT Title. Cage said that Allin wouldn’t win any title in AEW as long as Christian was around before Luchasaurus sent Allin into a metal door. Strong celebrated what he believed to be a forfeit win, but Allin hobbled his way to the ring with Nick Wayne rooting him on. Strong quickly dropped Allin with a backbreaker. Allin fought back, sending Strong to the floor before following him outside with a suicide dive.

Back from a commercial, Strong sent Allin back first into the post and the barricade. The crowd rattled Strong with Adam Hates You chants, allowing Allin to catch Strong with a guillotine choke in the ropes. Allin turned another backbreaker into a crucifix pin for a nearfall, then caught Strong with a Code Red for a nearfall. Allin went for the submission he used to beat Nick Wayne on Dynamite, but Strong countered it into an STF.

Allin got to the ropes, so Strong brought Allin to the top rope. Allin clawed at Strong’s back, but Strong shoved Allin into the top of the ringpost. Strong hit a sick backbreaker on the top turnbuckle, sending Allin tumbling to the floor. Strong got Allin into the ring, but only scored a nearfall.

Back from another commercial, Allin hit Strong with a Stundog Millionaire on the apron before hitting a Coffin Drop to Strong on the floor. The Kingdom menaced Wayne on the floor before AR Fox backed him up, much to Wayne’s chagrin. Back in the ring, Strong hit a Sick Kick, but Allin countered the End of Heartache into a Scorpion Death Drop. No cover due to Allin’s back being battered.

Taven got on the apron, with Wayne pulling him off the apron. Fox went to dive on Taven, but Bennett yanked him out of the way. Fox landed on Wayne by accident, and all the while Allin landed on Strong’s knees on a Coffin Drop attempt. Strong hit the End of Heartache to score the win and punch his ticket to the final.

Powerhouse Hobbs spoke about how the Miro chapter of the Book of Hobbs was still unfinished.

Lexy Nair was backstage with Keith Lee. Lee spoke about wanting to do things solo and offered his opponents a piece of advice: run.

We got a video package on The Righteous, the team of Vincent, Dutch, & Stu Grayson.

Tony Schiavone welcomed Bryan Danielson to the ring. Danielson said that he promised his six-year-old daughter that he would start wrapping up his career once she turned seven. He said that he wouldn’t go quietly into the night, and would kick everyone’s head in. He said that this would be the most epic year of his career. He made a challenge for October 1st at WrestleDream. He wanted to wrestle the man everyone called the best technical wrestler in the world, Zack Sabre Jr.

Ricky Starks & Big Bill made their way to the ring, with Starks noting how the spotlight escaped him again. Starks noted that he went from being hungry to being greedy and that Danielson never tapped him out. Danielson said that he wasn’t done yet, and noted that in order to be with the Blackpool Combat Club, you had to bleed with them. Big Bill then jumped Danielson. Starks pulled Bill off of Danielson before jumping on Danielson himself. Jon Moxley made his way to the ring, but Big Bill dropped him with a big boot. Starks choked out Danielson with a BCC t-shirt, with Kevin Kelly wondering if that shirt was going to be offered to Starks before the attack. Starks and Big Bill celebrated, leaving Moxley and Danielson lying.

We got a rundown of the Dynamite card, with the addition of Jon Moxley vs. Big Bill for the International Championship. We also got a rundown of the Collision card for next week, with FTR vs. The Iron Savages announced. Bryan Danielson vs. Zack Sabre Jr. was made official for the WrestleDream PPV.

Tony Schiavone was backstage with Big Bill. Bill said that he just beat Moxley’s ass and would do it again in Moxley’s hometown. The Lucha Brothers entered the frame, with Fenix noting that he was next in line for Moxley. Bill told them to worry about Penta’s match against Samoa Joe.

AEW World Title Grand Slam Eliminator Tournament Semi-Final Match – Samoa Joe defeated Penta El Zero Miedo (w/ Alex Abrahantes)

A decent main event, but the lesser of the two tournament matches tonight. It set up a Dynamite main event with history that set a lot of the current main event picture in motion.

Jim Ross joined commentary for this main event. Joe headbutted Penta after a Cero Miedo taunt. Penta came back with a superkick before Joe shoulder blocked him down. Joe telegraphed a back body drop, leading to Penta sending him to the floor with a dropkick.

Joe sidestepped a baseball slide, but Penta caught him with a Slingblade on the floor. The two got into a chop battle on the floor before Joe ran Penta into the barricade. They traded more chops before Joe poked Penta in the eyes. Penta sent Joe into the barricade before pulling out a table before the commercial break.

Back from the commercial, Joe avoided a Penta double stomp and dropped him with a back elbow. Penta fought out of a chinlock, but Joe shut him down and locked in another submission. Joe hit a strike combination, ending with a knee drop for a nearfall. Joe hit his corner splash and enzuigiri. Penta fought out of the Muscle Buster before firing up. Penta hit a backstabber out of the corner for a nearfall.

Penta booted Joe in the face but jumped right into a powerslam for a nearfall. Penta lit up Joe with strikes before landing a superkick in the corner for a nearfall. Penta landed a pair of kicks for a nearfall before going for the arm snap, but Joe muscled out and landed a big combination ending in a senton for a nearfall.

Penta sent Joe to the floor, where he landed a kick and a dive. Penta went for another dive, but Joe sidestepped him, sending Penta through Chekov’s table. Penta kicked out of the subsequent cover and even had the Fear Factor set up, but Joe flipped Penta into the rear naked choke for the submission win. On Dynamite, it’ll be Roderick Strong vs. Samoa Joe, the man who hurt his neck to begin with back in July. The winner gets the World Title match against MJF at Grand Slam.

Jon Moxley to challenge for AEW International title at All Out

Jon Moxley will get a shot at the AEW International title at next Sunday’s All Out from Chicago’s United Center.

Moxley will face the winner of the newly-announced Orange Cassidy vs. Penta El Zero Miedo title match set for this Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite.

While the Cassidy title match was announced Saturday, his opponent wasn’t revealed until the post-All In press conference.

Cassidy and Penta were on the same team for Sunday’s Stadium Stampede victory as well as in a trios match on Saturday’s Collision. This will be their second-ever singles match and first since an April 2021 Dynamite.

In either case, the champion will have recent history with Moxley. Cassidy has been involved with Moxley for several weeks as he and his Best Friends teammates have feuded with the Blackpool Combat Club while Penta recently competed in a three-way with Moxley and Trent Beretta from Best Friends in an anything goes match.

Cassidy and Moxley have never had a singles match while Moxley and Penta have had two.

Here’s the current lineup for All Out:

  • AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy or Penta El Zero Miedo defend against Jon Moxley
  • TNT Champion Luchasaurus defends against Darby Allin
  • Miro vs. Powerhouse Hobbs
  • TBS Champion Kris Statlander defends against Ruby Soho

TNT title match set for Saturday edition of AEW Rampage

The TNT will be on the line for the second straight week on AEW Rampage as Powerhouse Hobbs defends against Penta El Zero Miedo.

This week’s show will air on Saturday at 10 PM Eastern due to U.S. soccer coverage on Friday.

Hobbs successfully defeated Penta’s brother Rey Fenix on last week’s Rampage which also saw QT Marshall take out Alex Abrahantes after the match. Penta answered Hobbs’ open challenge as he looks for revenge.

Taya Valkyrie will look to go 2-0 in her early AEW run as she faces Leila Grey. She notably delivered Jade Cargill’s Jaded finisher to Grey after making her debut last Wednesday.

After losing to Jericho Appreciation Society member Daniel Garcia last week thanks to Chris Jericho’s bat, Brody King of the House of Black will look for revenge as he takes on JAS member Jake Hager.

In tag team action, former AEW Tag Team Champions The Acclaimed will take on former ROH Tag Team Champions The Kingdom for the first time.

After issuing an open challenge to Juice Robinson, Ricky Starks will be on hand to see if the Bullet Club member accepts.

Here’s the current lineup:

  • TNT Champion Powerhouse Hobbs defends against Penta El Zero Miedo
  • Taya Valkyrie vs. Leila Grey
  • Brody King vs. Jake Hager
  • The Acclaimed vs. The Kingdom
  • Ricky Starks appearance

Lucha Brothers returning to action for AEW Wednesday

After some reported visa issues, the Lucha Brothers are set to return to action for AEW tonight.

The promotion announced that Rey Fenix & Penta El Zero Miedo will wrestle in Laredo Texas, but did not state it would be for Dynamite.

That means they will either appear on AEW Dark Elevation prior to the main show or on this week’s Rampage taped afterward.

On an edition of Wrestling Observer Radio last week, Dave Meltzer said working visas have been an issue throughout the wrestling industry which is why Mexican stars like Penta, Fenix and Bandido didn’t wrestle last week in El Paso, Texas.

The two have been out of action since they and PAC lost the seventh match in the best-of-seven series against The Elite on January 11th, dropping the AEW Trios titles in the process.

Bandido hasn’t appeared since his January 17th Dynamite loss to Bryan Danielson. His visa status is unknown.

VIDEO: AEW star Penta El Zero Miedo appears on NFL Monday Night Football

An AEW star made an appearance as this week’s Monday Night Football game took place in Mexico City.

During Monday night’s broadcast of the San Francisco 49ers vs. Arizona Cardinals, ESPN showed footage of Penta El Zero Miedo meeting up with Pro Bowl tight end George Kittle before the game. Penta gave Kittle a custom 49ers lucha mask.

https://twitter.com/r0bato/status/1594881026148425729

Kittle, who scored two touchdowns on Monday night, wore a Penta mask and shirt to his post-game press conference.

Kittle is a huge pro wrestling fan and uses Penta’s “Cero Miedo” taunt as a celebration during games.

Penta and his brother Rey Fenix currently hold the AEW Trios titles with PAC. They retained the titles against The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks) at Full Gear this past Saturday. The finish saw Fenix pin Omega after hitting him with a hammer.

Full Gear was the start of a best-of-seven series between Penta, Fenix & PAC and The Elite for the Trios titles. The series will continue with match two taking place on Dynamite this Wednesday night.

AEW Dynamite live results: Jon Moxley vs. Penta El Zero Miedo World title match

The AEW World Championship is on the line on tonight’s Dynamite.

Jon Moxley will defend the World title against Penta El Zero Miedo in a bout announced this past weekend.

Also set for the show, FTR’s Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler will put their number one contendership on the line against Swerve In Our Glory’s Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee.

In another tag team bout, JAS’s Chris Jericho and Daniel Garcia will face Blackpool Combat Club’s Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta.

BCC’s Bryan Danielson will be in singles action against JAS’s Sammy Guevara.

In the women’s division, Riho will face Jamie Hayter. Riho made a surprise return last week, saving Toni Storm from an attack by Hayter and Rebel.

A promo from MJF has also been announced for the show. MJF is set to challenge for the World title at Full Gear on Saturday, November 19.

**********

AEW Dynamite opened with Excalibur welcoming us alongside Tony Schiavone & Taz, running down the card for tonight’s show.

Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta defeated ROH World Champion Chris Jericho & ROH Pure Champion Daniel Garcia (w/ Matt Menard, Angelo Parker & Jake Hager)

Lord William Regal joined commentary and compared Excalibur to a crème brulee to keep up the tradition of making Taz feel uncomfortable. The crowd was loudly behind Yuta, who, along with Castagnoli, delivered double anvil elbows to Jericho & Garcia, who were saved by Menard & Parker, who pulled their buddies outside. Back inside, Garcia remained isolated until he kicked free from a giant swing to make the tag to Jericho.

Castagnoli was tripped by Hager right in front of referee Aubrey, who did nothing about it, as Jericho hit a springboard dropkick that sent Castagnoli to the floor. Hager briefly continued his assault on Castagnoli before Jericho took control the entire break, isolating the former ROH Champion. Garcia tried a sleeper, but Castagnoli countered into a suplex and countered a charging Jericho with a pop up uppercut.

Yuta made the hot tag and ran wild sending Garcia to the floor and flattening Jericho with a huge splash and Angle Slam for a near fall. Castagnoli & Yuta used great teamwork until Jericho countered a Castanoli springboard uppercut into a Code Breaker. Yuta wiped out Garcia, Parker & Menard on the floor, as Jericho tried to use Floyd the bat, but was powerbombed by Castagnoli. Jericho was hit with a giant swing while Garcia was in a fireman’s carry position on Castagnoli in an amazing spot. Castagnoli ran wild on everyone outside with uppercuts and finally put away Jericho with a top rope uppercut to pin the ROH Champion clean in a very fun opener.

-Backstage Renee Paquette is with Bryan Danielson who said he is frustrated he lost to Chris Jericho, Daniel Garcia turned on him and Wheeler Yuta talked back to him last week. He realizes people hate Sammy Guevara and he’s going to take all his frustrations out on him tonight. Wheeler Yuta interrupted and said he’s not a kid, he’s a grown ass man, as they started shoving, with Claudio playing peacemaker. Claudio said after Danielson beats Guevara, they will sit down and hash things out like gentlemen.

-There was a video package of highlights of The Elite in AEW with them vanishing after each shot. So it’s only a matter of time before they return to action.

**********

-Tony Schiavone is backstage with the entire Jericho Appreciation Society, who was screaming about their loss. Jericho said he issues an open challenge to any former ROH World Champion next week. Guevara said he’ll beat Bryan Danielson because he’s that damn good. The audio was shaky here, but Jericho blamed Claudio for bringing the bat into the ring, resulting in their loss.

Swerve in Our Glory (Swerve Strickland & Keith Lee) defeated AAA, IWGP & ROH Tag Team Champions FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) to become #1 Contender’s for the AEW Tag Team Championship

Gunn Club is ringside dressed as FTR, mocking them like they’ve been doing in recent weeks, while The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass are seated up at the ramp. Swerve got taken down early by FTR, so he scrambled to tag Lee, who used his size to avoid a Big Rig. An amazing double leapfrog, drop down, double cross body by Lee on both FTR took us into commercial.

I feel bad for Wheeler, who took Keith Lee corner chops, but the viewers at home couldn’t hear the echo they usually have since they were in picture in picture. Wheeler tried a sunset flip, but Lee powered him up into a double overhand chop that crumbled him. Wheeler dodged a Lee splash and backdropped Swerve to make the hot tag to Harwood, who dished out a crazy amount of payback chops on Swerve & Lee.

Lee was sent to the floor, as Swerve & Harwood traded near falls. Swerve slipped off the ropes, but quickly recovered; hit a cross body and Harwood rolled through for a two count. Swerve was ping ponged with a powerbomb into a bridging German suplex by Wheeler for a near fall. Wheeler shot off a series of uppercuts until Swerve vaulted off Harwood, tagged Lee, as they hit a double team on Wheeler and took out Harwood outside. Electric Chair into a powerbomb by Lee & Swerve, but Wheeler kicked out at two.

Wheeler avoided the powerbomb into Swerve Stomp, as Harwood ultimately planted Swerve with a bounce back powerbomb of his own. Wheeler was dropped with a stiff headbutt, as Lee collapsed onto him for a close two. Lee was cut off in the corner by Harwood, who hit a massive superplex, but Wheeler didn’t hit all of the top rope splash, so Lee kicked out of the Power-Plex. Swerve stopped a Big Rig attempt, Wheeler cut off a an assisted powerbomb and FTR hit Big Rig on Lee, but Swerve pulled Harwood out at two.

Swerve sent Wheeler into the Gunn Club ringside, as Harwood rolled up Lee, who kicked out, but as Harwood went into the ropes, Swerve hit a low blow with the ref turned to Lee. The Gunn Club were holding back Wheeler, as Lee put away Harwood with the Ground Zero to win it. Post match, Gunn Club beat down FTR and The Acclaimed made the save. This turned into a really good match, but the finish made the ref look like an idiot, which is something I thought AEW was trying not to do so often.

-Renee Paquette is backstage with Saraya and got out at about two sentences until Britt Baker interrupted and Renee had to put a stop to the scuffle, as Baker just stormed off as quickly as she stormed in.

**********

-Renee Paquette is at the entrance ramp and introduced MJF to a loud ovation. MJF said the devil has arrived and when asked by Renee how he feels if Jon Moxley defends his title tonight against Pentagon. MJF mocks Moxley’s walk and talk, calls him mid and tells Renee to shut her mouth when she said he can’t say stuff like that. MJF said he got a little ahead of himself saying he’d wrestle the entire title match clean, he’s still MJF. He made a promise that he won’t use his Dynamite Diamond ring at Full Gear. He’s fighting everyone who said he wasn’t good enough at Full Gear and will shove it down all their throats when he becomes AEW World Champion. MJF was going to say his tagline until Stokely Hathaway interrupted, but the microphone was slapped out of his hand by MJF. He said if Moxley gets passed Pentagon tonight, The Firm isn’t to lay a hand on him ahead of Full Gear, if they do, Stokely is fired. MJF hit his catchphrase and the crowd chanted along with him.

-Video package is shown promoting Matt Taven vs. Wardlow for the TNT title this Friday on Rampage.

Bryan Danielson defeated Sammy Guevara w/Tay Melo

Lord Regal joins commentary again, as Guevara started quickly with strikes in the corner and double jump cutter for an early two count. Guevara flipped out of a German suplex, did a few leap frogs, but tried one too many and Danielson sank in a Romero Special. Danielson let it go and opted to just pour down strikes. Guevara tried forearms, but Danielson leaned into all of them to absorb each one. While Danielson was wrenching at the wrist of Guevara, Excalibur informed us that Hangman Page is doing better following last week’s injury and will be back as quickly as possible.

Danielson sent Guevara outside, hit a baseball slide, but as he went for a running knee off the apron, Guevara hit a jump knee and huge springboard moonsault off the top to the floor. Guevara kept Danielson grounded during the entire commercial, with Tay Melo even getting in a shot for good measure. Guevara foolishly went for Yes Kicks and just woke up Danielson, who slapped the taste out of Guevara. Danielson did his moonsault out of the corner and charging clothesline.

Danielson backdropped Guevara to the floor and took him out with a dive through the ropes. Shotgun dropkick back inside, but Guevara countered a home run kick into a standing Spanish Fly for two. Guevara took too long on the top, got crotched, but flipped out of a back superplex on his feet. Guevara tried a standing shooting star, but landed right into the LeBell Lock. Danielson went up top, but Guevara popped up for a Spanish Fly for two. Guevara went for GTH, but Danielson countered into a Poison Rana and Busaiku Knee. Danielson poured down stomps onto the face, sank in a triangle choke with elbows delivered as Guevara went out. I enjoyed this match quite a bit, as Guevara had his hope spots, but Blackpool Combat Club go to 2-0 on the night so far.

-Renee Paquette is backstage with Rey Fenix & Alex Abrahantes. They said tonight, Pentagon will be double champion, as Abrahantes said Fenix should become the next All-Atlantic champion. Christian & Luchasaurus interrupt and said his right hand of destruction deserves a shot. Orange Cassidy saunters in and said next week, let’s do this. So I guess he accepted both man’s challenge.

**********

Jamie Hayter w/Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. & Rebel defeated Riho

Dueling chants from the crowd, as it was the strength of Hayter vs. the speed of Riho early, as Riho low bridged Hayter and hit a top rope cross body outside, the same thing that happened last week during Riho’s return. Hayter quickly recovered and drove Riho into the side of the ring and guard rail. Hayter hit a series of spinning snap suplexes in the ring and was just manhandling her into picture in picture.

Hayter took the ref, while Baker got in her shots and trash talked Riho on the floor. Back inside, Riho cartwheeled into a dropkick, did a cazadora into a double stomp, which Taz said looked like it hurt like the dickens. Rebel ate a forearm off the apron, but Hayter blocked a Tiger Feint Kick, tried a suplex into the ring, which Riho countered into a Northern Lights for two. Hayter rolled through a top rope cross body into a brainbuster for a very close near fall.

Riho floated over a back suplex into a cross body and popped off a hurricanrana off the second. Baker tripped up Riho with the referee turned, which was enough for Hayter to block a sunset flip, but Riho flew up into a Code Red for two in a really cool moment. Riho missed a top rope double stomp and ran right into a backbreaker from Hayter. Riho spun out of a ripcord into a Dragon Suplex for another close two. Riho again rolled through a ripcord into a roll up, but Hayter popped up, flattened Riho and the third attempt at the ripcord lariat connected to give Riho the win. This was another fun match, but I don’t think the ref distraction again was necessary in yet another match.

Post match, Toni Storm came to the stage, held up her Interim AEW Women’s title and stared down Jamie Hayter, as Britt Baker couldn’t help but look on interested as well.

– Backstage, Renee Paquette, making her fifth appearance tonight, is with Eddie Kingston, asking him about his behavior as of late. Kingston talked through his Colgate smile saying everything is great, but wants to talk about Moxley. Kingston said Pentagon might be his boy, but he thinks Moxley takes this tonight. He shoots another fake smile and then glares at the camera.

Jon Moxley defeated Penta El Zero Miedo w/Alex Abrahantes to retain the AEW World Championship

Excalibur mentioned Penta’s amazing Triplemania mask vs. mask match with Villano IV and said everything Penta put on the line for that showdown. Both men teed off on each other with chops and forearms early until both spun out of the other’s finisher attempts. Penta put a stop to a charging Moxley to do his pose, which Moxley answered by flipping him off. Moxley was sent outside, where Penta hit a somersault dive.

Penta controlled most of the picture in picture, repeatedly slamming Moxley’s head into the steps, while breaking the count. Penta took off his glove to chop Moxley against the post, but Moxley moved and Penta smacked the steel to allow Moxley to take over. That lasted all 5 seconds, as Penta hit a backstabber in the ring for two. Moxley hit a release overhead suplex into the corner off a charging Penta for the double down.

Moxley went for the mask, but both traded boots, resulting in a Penta sling blade. Moxley avoided Fear Factory into a desperation cutter and piledriver for two. Moxley poured down anvil elbows, as Penta escaped a bulldog choke and snapped Moxley’s arm back violently for a near fall. Both men fought to the side of the apron, Penta nearly hit a Destroyer on the steps, which Moxley countered into a DDT. Back in the ring, a King Kong lariat from Moxley got another two.

Penta fought out of the corner, superkicked the leg out from Moxley and hit a double stomp off the top into the Fear Factory for a super close near fall. Penta opted for the pose, as he tried a springboard, but fell into a Paradigm Shift, then Death Rider for the victory in a very good main event.

Post match, The Firm hit the ring, as W. Morrissey, The Gunn’s, Ethan Page & Lee Moriarty laid out Moxley, while Stokely Hathaway walked to the ring. Security ran out and were beaten down by The Firm too, as Alex Marvez is shown backstage at the Blackpool Combat Club locker room, where they are locked inside. Moxley made a brief comeback, but the numbers were too much. MJF hit the ring, told Stokely he was fired and The Firm laid him out as well. Page hit an Ego’s Edge, while Morrissey hit a choke slam through the ring attendant table. The Firm stand tall over both competitors in the Full Gear main event to end the show. I’m very intrigued if this is all in the plan of MJF to make people believe he’s actually fired The Firm, I mean, the man calls himself The Devil, so you can’t help but be skeptical.

Final Thoughts

This was a very enjoyable episode of Dynamite, with the wrestling action itself being really good tonight. The opener pretty much set the stage for Claudio getting a rematch with Jericho, while I assume Yuta is in line potentially for Garcia again as well. The seeds continued to be planted for Jamie Hayter and Toni Storm, while Swerve in Our Glory get their rubber match with The Acclaimed. I thought Guevara & Danielson and Moxley vs. Penta were excellent and the best on the show, which should surprise no one. My biggest complaint is the amount of times referee’s are distracted or just are oblivious to outside interference. They made a big deal about Paul Turner cracking down a few weeks ago and it seems like it just went out the window.

Friday’s updated AEW Rampage lineup:

  • Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta vs. Matt Menard & Angelo Parker
  • Madison Rayne vs. Tay Melo
  • Wardlow defends the TNT Title against Matt Taven

Next week’s Dynamite:

  • Darby Allin vs. Jay Lethal, as a video was shown of Darby saying Sting hasn’t been around for a while because Darby said he had to do things on his own. Darby said Lethal had a friend that knew his weakness, so he told Lethal to bring him. Lethal & Dutt said to be careful what he asked for because he just might get it.
  • The Daddy Ass Birthday Bash
  • Orange Cassidy defends the All-Atlantic Title against Luchasaurus and Rey Fenix
  • Renee Paquette has a sit down interview with Saraya & Dr. Britt Baker
  • Chris Jericho defends the ROH World Title against a former ROH World Champion in an open challenge

Moxley vs. Penta El Zero Miedo World title match set for AEW Dynamite

Penta El Zero Miedo has stepped up as the next challenger for Jon Moxley’s AEW World Championship.

It was announced tonight that Moxley will defend his AEW World Championship against Penta on Dynamite this coming Wednesday (October 26). The match was made official after Penta confronted Moxley and accepted his challenge for a title match.

In a promo after his title defense against Hangman Page, Moxley noted that he should be celebrating — but he’s not satisfied. Moxley said he wants to pick up right where he left off. Moxley said he plans on finding someone who he hasn’t beaten yet in AEW, and that person will need to have “zero fear.”

Penta and Alex Abrahantes then confronted Moxley and accepted the challenge. Abrahantes said Penta is the only wrestler in AEW with zero fear.

Moxley and Penta have only faced each other once before, with Moxley getting the win at an indie show for Northeast Wrestling in 2019.

Moxley’s title defense against Page on the most recent episode of Dynamite ended with Moxley retaining by referee stoppage. Page was taken to the hospital after the match and diagnosed with a concussion.

Penta currently holds the AEW Trios titles with Rey Fenix & PAC.

Wednesday’s Dynamite is being held at Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. The updated lineup for the episode is listed below:

  • AEW World Champion Jon Moxley defends against Penta El Zero Miedo
  • AEW Tag Team title number one contender’s match: FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) vs. Swerve in our Glory (Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland)
  • Riho vs. Jamie Hayter
  • Chris Jericho & Daniel Garcia vs. Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta
  • Bryan Danielson vs. Sammy Guevara

AEW Dark results: Penta El Zero Miedo vs. Wheeler Yuta

This week’s seven-match AEW Dark from Washington, DC, was headlined by a clash between Wheeler Yuta from Best Friends and Penta El Zero Miedo of Lucha Bros.

The Bunny (w/ The Blade) defeated Erica Leigh

The Bunny slung Leigh by her hair around the ring a few times before focusing on some knee-based offense. Leigh tried to reverse a few of Bunny’s moves, but ultimately fell to The Rabbit Hole which got her the three count.

2point0 & Daniel Garcia defeated Pat Brink, Rayo and Kekoa

Garcia and 2point0 jumped their opposition before the bell, which gave them a running start. Once the bell rang, it was unclear who the legal man was but it didn’t matter as Garcia tapped out Rayo with a sharpshooter very quickly.

2point0 then cut a promo running down the Inner Circle, citing that their days are numbered.

Lance Archer defeated Joe Keys

Keys dodged an Archer clothesline when he hit the ring, but immediately ate one shortly after. Archer took the bout to ringside and choked Keys on the barricade before tossing him back in the ring. Keys went to the second turnbuckle in an attempt to create some offense, but was on the receiving end of a Blackout that got Archer another win.

Leyla Hirsch defeated Janai Kai

Hirsch nailed Kai with a running knee before submitting her with the Legit Lock.

Gunn Club and The Acclaimed defeated Dark Order (Evil Uno, Alex Reynolds, Alan “5” Angels and 10)

Uno and Bowens began the match before tags began to increase with Dark Order maintaining control. Eventually, Max Caster took an opportunity and pulled Alex Reynolds off the apron, sending him crashing face first to the floor.

Reynolds became a point of isolation for the heels, but that didn’t last for long when 10 got the hot tag. He came in and cleaned house, sending both members of The Acclaimed over the top rope with a double clothesline.

He tagged out to Angels, who hit a frog splash on Colten Gunn that resulted in a near fall. Austin Gunn came in and broke up the pin before helping Colten up. The pair hit a assisted floatover neckbreaker on Angels which gave him the win.

Penta El Zero Miedo defeated Wheeler Yuta (w/ Chuck Taylor & Kris Statlander)

Yuta forced Penta to the mat early, applying a various amount of holds before Penta made it back to his feet. Penta applied a leglock of his own before Yuta escaped, leaving them at a stalemate.

Yuta began to mount some offense, sending Penta to the outside. When Yuta attempted a dive, Penta blocked it with a kick to the head. Penta got in the ring with the momentum and attempted a dive of his own, but Yuta blocked it at the last second with a forearm strike.

As the match went on, there was no dominance from either competitor as they traded multiple maneuvers back and forth. Penta attempted to put away Yuta with a rotating driver, but Yuta surprisingly powered out at two. Penta motioned to drill Yuta with a hanging DDT on the arena floor before hitting his signature package piledriver in the middle of the ring to successfully put away Yuta.

Jungle Boy (w/ Luchasaurus) defeated Nick Comoroto (w/ QT Marshall & Aaron Solo)

Comoroto was in the driver’s seat early on, working down one half of the AEW Tag Team Champions with slow-paced offense. The other members of The Factory made attempts to get involved, but Luchasaurus took care of them easily. Jungle Boy regained control of the bout after diving onto Comoroto at ringside.

Comoroto tried to fight back against a energized Jungle Boy once they made it back in the ring, but his efforts went unnoticed. Jungle Boy hit a teardrop brainbuster on Comoroto shortly after for a two count.

The crowd was fully behind Jungle Boy at this point as he transitioned the failed pinfall into a snare trap which made Comoroto submit.

The feud between The Pinnacle and The Inner Circle will continue on multiple fronts. MJF and Chris Jericho will have a face-to-face confrontation, while Santana, Ortiz and Jake Hager will take on FTR and Wardlow.

South Beach Strap Match: Cody Rhodes (w/ Arn Anderson) defeated QT Marshall (w/ Aaron Solow & Nick Comoroto)

Aside from the odd blackout in the middle, this was a very enjoyable strap match and a good way to kick off the show.

This was a four-corner touch rules strap match. Marshall didn’t get a televised entrance.

Marshall tried to stall before the bell, so Cody attacked with a tope suicida. They strapped up and the bell rang. Cody immediately hit the drop-down right hand before choking Marshall with the strap. Marshall tossed Cody onto the ramp, but Cody pulled him into the ropes. Cody then used the ropes to assist on a powerslam. Jorge Masvidal and Amanda Nunes were shown at ringside.

Cody whipped Marshall repeatedly with the strap. He exchanged words with Solow, who attacked (as it’s no disqualification), so Dustin Rhodes ran out, sending Solow into the front row and up into the stands. Marshall used the strap to hit Cody low, then whipped and choked him with it. Both men touched three turnbuckles consecutively, but a scramble for the fourth resulted in a German suplex from Marshall as the count reset.

Marshall went to keep up the beatdown on the floor, but Cody pulled Marshall into the ring post. Marshall was busted open. Cody touched three turnbuckles, but the lights bizarrely went out in the arena. Marshall used the distraction to beat Cody down and stop the count. They fought on the top rope, where Cody choked Marshall out. He went for a top-rope Frankensteiner, which Marshall countered into a powerbomb.

Cody stopped Marshall from touching all four turnbuckles, so Marshall hit a Diamond Cutter. Marshall touched three, but Cody forced an interruption and was met with a whipping for his effort. Cody fired up and demanded that Marshall hit him before making his comeback and running wild with strikes. He hit the Cody Cutter in the center of the ring.

Arn called for the end. Cody hit three, Marshall tried to interrupt it, so Cody just low blowed him. He spit in Cody’s face and received three Cross Rhodes for his efforts, allowing Cody to touch all four turnbuckles for the win.

**********

Shawn Spears cut a promo. He addressed Sammy Guevara, saying it was Guevara’s ego that got him in trouble last week. He was interrupted by a chair thrown by Guevara, who said “this is far from over.”

Kenny Omega & Hangman Page promo

Kenny Omega and Don Callis were introduced by Tony Schiavone. Callis immediately took the mic and told Schiavone to get lost. He’s going to give Miami a history lesson, but was interrupted by “You got fired!” chants. Callis moved down the list of AEW World Championship challengers that Omega had beaten. All the fans are in the shadow with the God of pro wrestling.

Unfortunately, there’s a problem: they’ve beaten everybody. “We want Hangman” chants, then the Dark Order’s music played. Evil Uno led the Dark Order out and said he had a few questions for Omega. Uno wants to know why they’re ignoring the crowd, and why Omega’s afraid of his friend. “Cowboy Shit” chants.

Omega asked Uno what the capital of Thailand is and low-blowed him. “It’s Bangkok, baby.” The Good Brothers and Michael Nakazawa came out and attacked the Dark Order. Hangman Page’s music played, and he ran out, fighting off both Good Brothers. Omega was alone in the ring, and Page was in perfect position for the Buckshot Lariat, but he didn’t hit it.

They faced off in the center of the ring. A Karl Anderson distraction allowed Omega to escape to the ramp.

Darby Allin & Ethan Page interview w/ Jim Ross

JR was uncomfortable because both of these men have talked about ending the other’s career. Page didn’t see anything wrong with it. Allin said Page was angry about how much Allin had accomplished in such a short time. He said Page was complacent as a big fish in a little pond, and that Allin made it to AEW before Page angered him.

Page said that he plucked Allin from obscurity. He brought Allin in and up from professional wrestling. Next week, in the Coffin match, he’s going to take Allin out. JR closed by saying he doesn’t have a good feeling about the situation.

The Pinnacle (Dax Harwood, Cash Wheeler, & Wardlow) (w/ Tully Blanchard) defeated The Inner Circle (Santana, Ortiz, & Jake Hager) (w/ Konnan)

Santana and Harwood teed off on each other from the opening bell. Santana went for the Three Amigos, opting for a German suplex on the third. Ortiz tagged in, they hit a double team, and then a Northern Lights suplex followed for two. Wheeler caught an Ortiz leapfrog and hit a powerslam before tagging in Wardlow who hit a gutwrench powerbomb for two.

Harwood tagged in, but Ortiz caught him with a powerbomb and tagged in Hager. Hager hit the Hager bomb and sent the Pinnacle packing into the break. During commercial, the Pinnacle regained control when Harwood flapjacked Santana onto the top rope.

Once back, a cutter allowed Santana to reach Ortiz for the hot tag. The Inner Circle worked together to take out Wheeler, but Wardlow ran in to break up a pin attempt. An FTR double team sequence on Ortiz got two. Ortiz countered a vertical suplex with one of his own and tagged in Hager, who ran wild on everyone.

Wheeler countered the Hager Bomb, so Hager locked on the ankle lock. Harwood broke it up, but ran into a big boot. Hager called for Wardlow, who tagged in. They traded right hands in the center of the ring. Hager escaped out of a suplex and went for the ankle lock, but FTR entered the ring on a distraction from Tully, hitting the Big Rig for an out-of-nowhere win.

– Konnan attacked Wardlow after the match, but Tully chop blocked him from behind.

**********

Karl Anderson cut a promo. He said Jon Moxley had been a big problem for the Good Brothers. He then challenged Moxley to an IWGP United States Championship match for next week, Fyter Fest Night 1.

**********

Chris Jericho & MJF Face-to-Face Standoff

Somebody ran into the ring during Jericho’s entrance. Unsure if it was a plant or not, but if it was, it was very convincing.

MJF dared anyone in the crowd to try that. He said Jericho’s here groveling for one more match, saying it’s “sad.” But it’s understandable, because everyone wants a piece of the king of AEW. Jericho said he should’ve let that fat bastard come into the ring and beat MJF’s ass.

Jericho said he’d accept any stipulation MJF put in front of him, including “having sex with your mother… again.” MJF said Jericho wouldn’t rattle him, because that’s what the people want, and he doesn’t care what they want. He used to look up to Jericho, following every step of his career, including the Jon Moxley feud. Jericho made Moxley wrestle every person in the Inner Circle, and MJF’s gonna take that blueprint and make it better.

MJF loved Greek mythology growing up and his favorite story was the “Labors of Hercules.” Jericho’s going to have five labors. The first four will be opponents of MJF’s choosing with unique stipulations, and Jericho will have to win them all back to back to back to back. The fifth is MJF, and when he beats Jericho a third time, maybe he’ll learn MJF’s better than him and he knows it.

Jericho accepted, because he’s the god of battle, the god of thunder, and the god of war in AEW. He’s going to beat MJF and ruin his life. “That ain’t no mythology.” Jericho then signed the agreement.

MJF stopped Jericho from leaving, saying a deal is not done until both parties shake hands. He demanded Jericho shake his hand, or the deal’s off. Jericho shook MJF’s hand, wouldn’t let go, and pulled him in for a Judas Effect.

Britt Baker was with Rebel backstage. She said the only positive that came out of last week’s match was that it was another win for Baker, but an innocent person (Rebel) was hurt. She talked about ratings, and the match only happened so Vickie Guerrero could bring AEW Andrade.

Baker told Tony Khan to enjoy his blood money, saying maybe next AEW could run a show in Saudi Arabia. Nyla Rose is never getting her title back. Baker’s not just sending Rose to the back of the line, she’s sending her back to obscurity. They’re going to call Dallas the big “D.M.D.”

**********

Andrade El Idolo (w/ Vickie Guerrero) defeated Matt Sydal

This was a decent debut for Andrade, but he has yet to set himself apart in AEW.

Andrade wrestled in dress pants. Sydal tried to roll him up early on but was met with a twisting suplex. They fought on the top rope and Andrade sent Sydal to the mat. Andrade went for a top-rope moonsault, Sydal rolled out of the way, but Andrade sprung up for another moonsault. Sydal picked out Andrade’s leg and hit a jumping sole butt. He climbed to the top, where Andrade pushed him to the floor ahead of the break.

Sydal avoided a corner knee and turned around with a spinning heel kick. He laid in more kicks, including a nice question mark kick, before rolling Andrade up for two. Andrade decked Sydal with a lariat and went to the top rope. Sydal met him at the top, Andrade picked his legs and went for the diving stomp. Sydal avoided it and hit a meteora for two.

Andrade came back with running knees in the corner and hit his hammerlock DDT, which he’s now calling El Idolo, for the win.

– After the match, Andrade tied up Sydal’s arm in a belt and wrenched on it.

**********

A dueling Christian and Matt Hardy video promo played. Christian always got the better of Hardy throughout the years, but Hardy was upset about Christian betraying his trust at Double or Nothing. Christian told Hardy to get on his level, or get the hell out of the way. They will have a match at Fyter Fest Night 1.

**********

Malakai Black (formerly Aleister Black/Tommy End) debut

This was an awesome, simple debut, so much better than anything Andrade’s done yet.

Arn Anderson was with Schiavone in the ring. Arn said it was great to be in Miami. He was interrupted with another blackout like the one in the Cody match. When the lights came back on, Aleister Black/Tommy End was in the ring. He hit Black Mass, his spinning heel kick, on Arn. Cody ran out and stared him down, but was met with a Black Mass of his own.

Excalibur announced him as “Malakai Black,” and he left Cody and Arn laying as the segment ended.

**********

They recapped a taped segment from earlier where Ricky Starks cut a promo on Brian Cage. Taz came out to shut it down, but then Cage came out and beat down Starks’ security. This was oddly put together and difficult to recap.

**********

Orange Cassidy & Kris Statlander defeated The Blade & The Bunny

This was chaotic and the rules were optional. It was the second intergender match in Dynamite history, after Cody/Red Velvet vs. Shaq/Jade Cargill. No intergender wrestling, the men must wrestle the men and vice versa, not that AEW bothers to follow those rules.

Loud “freshly squeezed” chants right away. Orange did some schtick with Bunny, then the match officially began. Blade countered Orange’s tornado DDT with a powerslam. Orange countered the follow-up into a stunner before the women tagged in.

Bunny hit a knee lift, but Statlander came back with a powerslam. Statlander hit a long delayed vertical suplex. Bunny rolled out of the way of a senton and Blade grabbed Statlander’s boot, allowing Bunny to take control ahead of the break. Once back, Statlander hit a Falcon Arrow for two. She climbed to the top rope, but Blade distracted Statlander by attacking Orange, allowing Bunny to hit a German suplex.

Blade tagged in, hoping for a countout on Orange. Statlander goaded Blade into an attack, then Orange made his way back into the ring with a crossbody and a tornado DDT for two. Statlander hit Area 541 on Blade, but Bunny pulled Orange out of the ring on the pin. Blade produced brass knuckles and rocked Orange with a right hand, but Statlander had made a tag. Statlander pushed Bunny into Blade and hit the Big Bang Theory for the win.

Earlier today, AEW officials awarded Jungle Boy with a trophy for becoming the first roster member to reach 50 victories.

**********

Schiavone was ringside with Dan Lambert, who was also there with Jorge Masvidal and Amanda Nunes. He moved into the ring and started cutting a promo about being skeptical about AEW, because AEW sucks. He started talking about old-school wrestlers and how they were so much better.

He talked about what Tony Khan did to put over the company, saying AEW has tons of styles and varying levels of experience, from legends to up-and-coming stars. Lance Archer, flanked by Jake Roberts, ran out and decked him before hitting the Blackout.

Not sure why this needed to make TV.

Next week’s Dynamite lineup for Fyter Fest Night 1:

  • Coffin Match: Darby Allin vs. Ethan Page
  • FTW Championship: Brian Cage (c) vs. Ricky Starks
  • Christian Cage vs. Matt Hardy
  • Yuka Sakazaki vs. Penelope Ford
  • IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Karl Anderson
  • Hangman Page promo

Don Callis joined commentary for the main event.

AEW World Tag Team Championship Street Fight: The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) (c) (w/ Brandon Cutler) defeated Eddie Kingston & Penta El Zero Miedo

Kingston was wearing a Terry Funk shirt. The Young Bucks accidentally superkicked Michael Nakazawa early on after the latter tried to help them. Kingston and Penta sent them into the barricade for their trouble. They cornered Cutler in the ring, but the Bucks attacked them with chairs before they could do anything. Kingston and Penta turned the tables and dropped both Bucks onto the chair.

Penta hit his diving dropkick to Matt’s posterior, this time through a chair. They brought out tables. Penta tried to send Nick into a table, but Nick stopped him. Nick also stopped Kingston from superplexing his brother onto a table and powerbombed Kingston onto it himself. Penta hit a running destroyer on Matt through a table at ringside.

Nick soccer kicked a trash can into Penta’s face ahead of the break. There was plenty of good action during the commercial, including Kingston being sent through a table – way more than AEW usually allows. Once back, Nick hit a senton bomb through a trash can onto Kingston for two. Penta hit a thrust kick and sling blades on both Bucks before a lungblower senton combination.

The Bucks overwhelmed Penta with the numbers, hitting a Northern Lights suplex. They then hit a cannonball enziguiri combination on Kingston seated in the corner. The Bucks set up for More Bang For Your Buck, but their opponents broke it up with a thrust kick, a half-and-half suplex, and a DDT. Kingston locked on a sleeper, but Nick hit a 450 splash on the official as Matt tapped frantically.

The Good Brothers slinked out and teed off on Kingston, but Penta took them both out with a tope con giro. Penta went for Fear Factor, but Matt flipped out of it and speared Kingston. Matt tried to get Cutler to spray Penta, but Frankie Kazarian appeared and powerbombed Cutler through a table. Penta and Kingston hit Fear Factor followed by the spinning backfist. They got a visual pin, but when an official finally ran out, Nick pulled him out of the ring on the count.

Kazarian attacked the Bucks, but the Good Brothers took him out with a Magic Killer. Kingston produced thumbtacks and Penta smacked Matt with a trash can. Penta and Nick fought on the top rope, with Nick hitting an avalanche hurricanrana on Penta, who landed on the tacks. Kingston broke up the cover at two. Matt had a bloody nose.

Kingston ate stereo superkicks, the Bucks threw tacks into Penta’s face, Matt put tacks in Kingston’s mouth, and Kingston ate a superkick as the Bucks covered and retained.

Kingston and Penta came away with the victory over The Bucks after interference from Brandon Cutler backfired. Cutler accidentally sprayed cold spray in the eyes of Matt Jackson. Frankie Kazarian then ran in and attacked Cutler. Penta hit Matt with a Fear Factor, the Kingston hit a spinning backfist to Matt. Penta then covered Matt for the pin.

The Young Bucks have held the AEW World Tag Team Championships since the November 7, 2020 Full Gear PPV. The Bucks defeated Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler of FTR to win the titles on that show.
