For the first time since being injured at Hell in a Cell, Sasha Banks is returning to in-ring action.
WWE has announced Banks vs. Nikki Cross for tomorrow’s episode of SmackDown. The show is being taped at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.
Banks hasn’t wrestled since her Hell in a Cell match against Becky Lynch last month.
Cross challenged for Bayley’s SmackDown Women’s Championship last Friday. Banks was at ringside and pushed Cross off the top rope at the end of the match, which led to Bayley retaining her title.
This week’s SmackDown and next Monday’s Raw are both being taped at the Manchester Arena tomorrow. For SmackDown, WWE has also announced that Roman Reigns will face Baron Corbin, The Revival will defend their SmackDown Tag Team titles against The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Big E), and Tyson Fury will make an appearance.
WWE’s European tour will begin with a house show in Brighton, England today.
With a limited roster due to travel delays getting out of Saudi Arabia, tonight’s SmackDown is being held at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York.
None of the matches and segments that were originally planned for tonight will be taking place. Instead, WWE has announced that Bayley will defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Nikki Cross on the show. Cross became the number one contender to Bayley’s title by winning a six-pack challenge two weeks ago.
An appearance by WWE Champion Brock Lesnar has also been confirmed for tonight. Lesnar retained his WWE title against Cain Velasquez in the opening match of Crown Jewel. The match went just over two minutes, with Lesnar catching Velasquez in a Kimura and submitting him.
After Lesnar wouldn’t break the hold, Rey Mysterio eventually fought him off with a steel chair.
The Wrap has reported that Renee Young, Tom Phillips & Aiden English will be the commentary team for tonight. Our live coverage begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman came out to start SmackDown. Heyman noted Lesnar is the reigning and defending WWE Champion but is in a bad mood. He should be in a good mood for conquering Cain Velaquez. Heyman showed footage from Crown Jewel.
They showed the Lesnar vs. Velaquez match from Saudi Arabia in its entirety. Heyman pointed out that Lesnar finally got revenge on Velaquez after nine years.
Heyman noted Lesnar’s furious because of Rey Mysterio. They showed footage of Mysterio attacking Lesnar with the chair after the match from Crown Jewel. Heyman and Lesnar went to Vince McMahon and asked him to serve Mysterio up to Lesnar.
Heyman said McMahon couldn’t let that happen because SmackDown stars are exclusive to FOX, and Raw stars are exclusive to USA Network. Mysterio can’t come to SmackDown because he’s on Raw.
Heyman promised that Lesnar would go to Raw to confront Mysterio. Nobody can stop Lesnar, including the chairman of the board or a lawsuit. Heyman then announced that Lesnar quits Friday Night SmackDown.
Heyman and Lesnar walked off and left the arena. Suddenly, Triple H and Shawn Michaels showed up and watched Lesnar and Heyman go.
Cross sent Bayley to the floor with a tilt-a-whirl head scissors. She followed up with a dropkick through the ropes and a tornado DDT off the apron on the floor. Back from the break, Cross was briefly in control, but Bayley took over after pushing her into the steps.
Bayley missed a charge into the turnbuckle. Cross made a comeback and ran wild. She hit a splash in the corner and followed with the bulldog.
Cross hit a crossbody for a close near fall. She set up for the neck breaker, but Banks made the save. Cross knocked Banks off the apron, but Bayley hit a knee. Bayley hit the elbow off the top for a close near fall. Cross trapped Bayley in the ring skirt and nailed forearms.
Cross sent Bayley back in the ring and climbed to the top. The finish came when Banks shoved Cross off the top, and Bayley scored the pin.
After the match, NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler ran out through the crowd and attacked Banks. The fans broke into an “NXT” chant. She jumped in the ring and beat down Bayley and Cross. She continued to attack Bayley and nailed her with a knee.
Pat McAfee joined Tom Philips and Renee Young on commentary.
In the back, Cathy Kelly interviewed Sami Zayn. Zayn pointed out that there are lots of NXT stars there tonight. He said if anyone from NXT tries to step to him, they’re going to have a problem. He was interrupted by NXT’s Matt Riddle and Keith Lee.
Zayn pretended to be their friend and praised them. He pretended to have an NXT shirt but said it’s in the car. Riddle and Lee followed him to his car, but Zayn ran off. Riddle and Lee chased after him to ringside.
Riddle caught Zayn and threw him into the ring. Zayn tried to hit Riddle, but he ducked. Riddle rocked Zayn with a knee and Bro Derek. Lee then hit a massive moonsault to a big pop.
They recapped Tyson Fury defeating Braun Strowman by count-out at Crown Jewel and Strowman attacking Fury after the match.
Miz TV with guest The Miz
Initially, The Miz was supposed to interview New Universal Champion “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt. Instead, he’s interviewing himself because he couldn’t find anyone else. He showed footage of Wyatt vs. Seth Rollins from Saudi Arabia in a falls count anywhere match. Miz noted that Wyatt wouldn’t appear tonight.
He turned his attention to NXT and recapped Shayna Basler attacking Bayley and Matt Riddle & Keith Lee attacking Sami Zayn.
NXT’s Tommaso Ciampa interrupted and made his way to the ring. The fans broke into another “NXT” chant. Ciampa called himself the greatest sports entertainer of all time. He said Miz is everything that’s wrong with Raw and SmackDown.
Ciampa noted he broke his neck for NXT, but Miz plays an actor. Miz mocked Ciampa and noted he’d heard that for the last 15 years. Miz then challenged Ciampa to a match.

Miz had the early advantage but missed a dropkick through the ropes. Ciampa took over and threw Miz into the ring steps. Ciampa slowed the pace down with a chin lock. Miz fired back and hit an inverted DDT for a near fall.
Miz hit a series of running knees in the corner, but Ciampa hit a discus lariat. Miz fought back and attempted the figure four leg-lock. Ciampa fought out, and Miz clipped the leg. Ciampa went for a powerbomb, but the leg gave out. Miz hit a DDT for a close near fall. He applied the figure four, but Ciampa reversed the hold.
Ciampa used an inside cradle for a two count and locked in a half-crab. Ciampa and Miz traded hard chops in the middle of the ring. Miz went for a crossbody, but Ciampa rocked him with a knee. Ciampa then hit the Fairy Tale Ending for the win.
The commentators pushed this as a massive win for Ciampa and NXT.
In the back, Daniel Bryan approached Triple H and Shawn Michales. Bryan wondered what they were doing there. Triple H noted he heard a challenge, so NXT showed up tonight.
Bryan’s looking for a fight and challenged Triple H. They went face-to-face, but The Game turned him down. They teased Bryan against Michales, but he was taking off his jacket and putting it back on.
Triple H then brought in the NXT Champion Adam Cole and challenged Bryan. Bryan agreed to the match but for the title. NXT Champion Adam Cole vs. Daniel Bryan is official for later.
Fire & Desire were in the ring, waiting for Dana Brooke and Carmella.
They cut to the back, and NXT’s Bianca Belair attacked Brooke and Carmella.
In the arena, Rhea Ripley and Tegan Nox came out and challenged Fire & Desire.

Ripley and Nox dominated that match. Nox tossed Sonya Deville into the commentators. Ripley won the match with an inverted cloverleaf on Mandy Rose.
Triple H and Shawn Michaels came down to the ring and sat at ringside.
Stephanie McMahon came out and talked about women’s evolution. She spoke about Natayla vs. Lacey Evans at Crown Jewel yesterday in Saudi Arabia. They showed footage of the match from Crown Jewel.
NXT Champion Adam Cole defeated Daniel Bryan
NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong walked out with Cole but went to the back. Cole got a pretty big reaction during the ring introductions. There were dual “Adam Cole” and “Daniel Bryan” chants at the start of the match.
They had a really good match that got very heated by the end. Bryan had the early advantage with hard chops in the corner. Cole slowed the pace down with a side headlock.
Bryan fought back and rocked Cole with a hard kick. Bryan worked over the elbow and used a surfboard. He looked right at Triple H as he locked in the submission. Cole fought back with a boot for a near fall.
On commentary, Tom Philips noted Cole’s competing with a fractured hand. Bryan then suplexed Cole, but they were too close to the ropes, and they both fell to the floor.
Back from the break, Cole scored a close near fall on Bryan. He followed up with a figure four headlock. Bryan fought back and ran wild. He ran up the turnbuckle and hit Cole with a dropkick.
Bryan threw Cole to the floor, and Cole’s back hit the apron. Bryan followed up with a missile dropkick and hit the running dropkick in the corner.
Bryan rocked Cole with uppercuts, but Cole hit a big boot for a two count. Bryan threw Cole out of the ring in front of Triple H and Michaels. Bryan then hit a suicide dive, but Cole cut him off on the second attempt.
Back from the break, Bryan gave Cole a sick looking German Suplex off the top. He held on and went for the diving headbutt, but Cole moved. Cole attempted the Last Shot, but Bryan countered with half-crab.
Bryan applied the Lebell Lock, but Cole broke free. Bryan kicked Cole in the face and used the LeBell Lock again, but Cole made the ropes.
Bryan followed up with the Yes Kicks, but Cole rolled him up for a near fall. Bryan went for the running knee, but Cole hit a superkick and followed up with the Panama Sunrise. Cole then hit the Last Shot for the win to retain the NXT Championship.
After the match, Roderick Strong and other NXT stars came out to celebrate Cole’s win. Triple H talked about building an army, and NXT fired the first shot. He wants to see what Raw and SmackDown got. He ended by saying, “We Are NXT,” which the crowd repeated.

With the lineup for the show shaken up by WWE’s travel issues getting out of Saudi Arabia, tonight’s SmackDown will now feature a Women’s title match.

WWE has added SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley, Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville vs. Nikki Cross, Carmella & Dana Brooke to the lineup for next Friday’s show. WWE has announced two matches for tomorrow’s SmackDown and revealed Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair’s roles for the show.
The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Big E) will face Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode on the episode. Nikki Cross vs. Mandy Rose is also set.
Hogan and Flair will appear on Miz TV, with Hogan being joined by Roman Reigns, Ali, and Shorty G (Chad Gable). Flair will be joined by Shinsuke Nakamura and King Corbin.
Team Hogan (Reigns, Rusev, Ricochet, Ali & Gable) are facing Team Flair (Randy Orton, Corbin, Bobby Lashley, Nakamura & Drew McIntyre) at Crown Jewel next Thursday (October 31).
New Day and Ziggler & Roode will both be in the World Cup tag team turmoil match at Crown Jewel. The Viking Raiders, Heavy Machinery, The Lucha House Party, Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins, The Revival, The O.C., and The B-Team have also been confirmed for the match.
Big E, Xavier Woods & Heavy Machinery defeated Ziggler, Roode & The Revival on SmackDown last week. Woods is out of action after suffering an Achilles injury at Monday’s house show in Sydney, Australia.
Cross won a six-pack challenge last Friday to become the number one contender to Bayley’s SmackDown Women’s Championship. Cross pinned Rose in the match, which also included Sonya Deville, Carmella, Lacey Evans, and Dana Brooke.
Due to game three of the World Series being on FOX, SmackDown will air live on FS1 tomorrow. A face-to-face segment with Brock Lesnar and Cain Velasquez is also set for the episode. Lesnar will defend his WWE Championship against Velasquez at Crown Jewel.
Nikki Cross is the new number one contender to the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Cross became the number one contender to the title by winning a six-pack challenge on tonight’s SmackDown. WWE hasn’t announced when she’ll be challenging Bayley for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Carmella, Lacey Evans, Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, and Dana Brooke were also in the six-pack challenge. Cross pinned Rose to get the win.
Bayley defeated Charlotte Flair last week to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Bayley fully turned heel in the process, and that was furthered as she appeared on Miz TV tonight. She cut a promo about the fans not being there for her when she lost to Charlotte at Hell in a Cell.
Bayley’s promo was interrupted by Cross before the six-pack challenge got started.
Cross was originally drafted to Raw last week, but WWE later announced that she and Alexa Bliss had been traded to SmackDown for “considerations for future draft picks down the line.”
Former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross are now part of the SmackDown roster.
During tonight’s preview episode of WWE Backstage on FS1, Paul “Triple H” Levesque appeared via video and announced that Bliss & Cross have been traded to SmackDown. The trade was framed as there also being “considerations for future draft picks down the line” involved.
Bliss & Cross had been drafted to Raw with separate picks on night one of the draft. WWE uploaded a post-show interview where Bliss talked about how she was happy to still be on the same brand as Cross.
Bayley won the SmackDown Women’s Championship on this past Friday’s episode. Sasha Banks was also drafted to SmackDown.
Women’s Tag Team Champions Asuka & Kairi Sane are on the Raw roster. It was noted that the titles can still be defended on both brands, but Asuka & Sane will become exclusive to Raw if they lose the titles.

A tag team match and a new edition of Firefly Fun House have been announced for tonight’s episode of Raw.
Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch & SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley will team up as they take on Women’s Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross in a non-title match.
Bayley defeated Cross in a singles match on Raw last week. It came after Bayley pushed Charlotte Flair off of her chair at the end of a Moment of Bliss segment on the August 20 episode of SmackDown.
Charlotte is challenging for Bayley’s SmackDown Women’s title at Clash of Champions on September 15. Lynch’s match for the pay-per-view has yet to be announced, though she’s been feuding with Sasha Banks since Banks returned to WWE television.
WWE.com hyped the new Firefly Fun House episode that’s airing tonight: “The last time we saw The Fiend, he brutalized WWE Hall of Famer Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler on Raw, but tonight, we will evidently see the other side of Bray Wyatt as ‘Firefly Fun House’ returns with a brand-new episode. What hijinks will unfold upon our return to Wyatt’s Fun House, and will we get any insight as to what is next for either Wyatt or the horrifying Fiend? Tune in to Raw tonight to find out!”
The Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California is advertising that The Fiend will challenge either Seth Rollins or Braun Strowman for the Universal Championship in a Hell in a Cell match at next month’s Hell in a Cell PPV. Rollins is defending the Universal title against Strowman at Clash of Champions.
The Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland is hosting tonight’s Raw. Raw’s quarterfinal matches in the King of the Ring tournament will take place, with Samoa Joe facing Ricochet and Cedric Alexander taking on Baron Corbin. WWE has also confirmed that Rey Mysterio will appear tonight.
Alexa Bliss will be in Cross’ corner for the match.
Charlotte Flair appeared on A Moment of Bliss with Bliss and Cross on SmackDown this past Tuesday. Charlotte called herself the face of the SmackDown women’s division and said Bayley is an afterthought. Bayley responded by saying being champion means she’s better than Charlotte.
The Moment of Bliss segment led to Charlotte challenging Bayley to a title match at Clash of Champions. After accepting the challenge, Bayley pushed Charlotte off of her chair.
Cross & Bliss won the Women’s Tag Team titles earlier this month.
The Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana is hosting Monday’s Raw. The King of the Ring tournament will continue on the episode with Raw’s last two first-round matches. Ricochet is facing Drew McIntyre, and The Miz is taking on Baron Corbin.
The winner of Ricochet vs. McIntyre will face Samoa Joe in the quarterfinals. The winner of Miz vs. Corbin will face Cedric Alexander.
Drew Gulak will defend the Cruiserweight Championship against Oney Lorcan, Women’s Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross will defend their titles against Peyton Royce & Billie Kay, and Apollo Crews will face Buddy Murphy.
Bliss & Cross vs. The IIconics and Crews vs. Murphy are new additions to SummerSlam, while Gulak vs. Lorcan had already been set for tonight’s card.
Bliss & Cross became Women’s Tag Team Champions by defeating Royce & Kay, Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville, and Asuka & Kairi Sane in a fatal four-way elimination match on Raw last week. Royce & Kay were the champions heading into the match but were eliminated first.
WWE has already announced that Asuka & Sane will challenge for the Women’s Tag Team titles on tomorrow’s post-SummerSlam episode of Raw.
The Roman Reigns mystery attacker angle continued on SmackDown last week, with Murphy accusing Rowan of being the person who attacked Reigns. Reigns beat Murphy down until Murphy would give him an answer.
Tonight’s two-hour pre-show begins at 5 p.m. Eastern time. The PPV is taking place at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross will defend their newly won Women’s Tag Team titles on Monday’s Raw.
WWE has announced that Asuka & Kairi Sane will challenge for Bliss & Cross’ titles on Monday’s episode. It’s taking place at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and is the post-SummerSlam edition of the show.
Bliss & Cross won the titles in a fatal four-way elimination match this past Monday. Peyton Royce & Billie Kay were the champions heading into the match and were eliminated first. Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville were then the second team eliminated.
The finish was Bliss hitting a punch and Twisted Bliss on Sane and pinning her to win the titles. That came after Cross pushed Sane off the top rope when she was going for an elbow drop, then trapped Asuka in the ring skirt.
The four-way Women’s Tag Team title match was originally scheduled for SummerSlam but ended up being moved up to Raw.
The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler is also official for Monday’s Raw. Ziggler will face Goldberg at SummerSlam.
Two more matches have been added to the lineup for tonight’s SummerSlam go-home show.

Royce & Kay vs. Rose & Deville in a non-title match was set up for last week’s SmackDown, but the match didn’t end up happening. WWE uploaded a video where The IIconics claimed that Kay had “puppy fever” and couldn’t wrestle on the show. Rose & Deville and Asuka & Sane then argued over who should get the next title shot.
Bliss & Cross defeated Bayley & Ember Moon on SmackDown last week.
Andrade eliminated Mysterio during a gauntlet match on last Monday’s Raw. He then ripped off Mysterio’s mask in a post-match angle.
Ricochet won the gauntlet match and will challenge for AJ Styles’ United States Championship at SummerSlam.
The PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is hosting tonight’s Raw. Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair vs. Natalya & Trish Stratus, a Miz TV segment with Shawn Michaels and Dolph Ziggler, and an appearance by Brock Lesnar have also been confirmed for the episode.
Bayley and Ember Moon will be teaming together on tonight’s SmackDown.
WWE has announced that Bayley & Moon will face Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross tonight. The tag match comes in advance of Moon challenging for Bayley’s SmackDown Women’s Championship at SummerSlam on August 11.
Due to a distraction from Bayley, Moon got a quick win against Charlotte Flair on SmackDown last week. Moon then laid out both Charlotte and Bayley with The Eclipse in a post-match angle.
Becky Lynch defeated Cross on Raw last night, which came after Bliss faked an injury during her match against Lynch.
The FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee is hosting tonight’s SmackDown. Vince McMahon called for a rewrite of the entire show today.
In addition to Bayley & Moon vs. Bliss & Cross, WWE Champion Kofi Kingston (w/ Big E and Xavier Woods) vs. United States Champion AJ Styles (w/ Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) in a non-title match, Jerry Lawler hosting a King’s Court segment with Trish Stratus, and Finn Balor vs. Dolph Ziggler are currently being advertised for tonight’s episode.
A Beat the Clock Challenge on tonight’s Raw set up a change to the SmackDown Women’s Championship match for Extreme Rules.
It will now be Bayley defending her SmackDown Women’s title against Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross in a handicap match at the pay-per-view. The match was originally announced as Bayley vs. Bliss.
Bayley and Cross took part in singles matches on tonight’s Raw, and whoever won in the fastest amount of time got to pick the stipulation for the title match at Extreme Rules. Cross defeated Dana Brooke in under three minutes, while Bayley defeated Sarah Logan in 4:32.
After the Beat the Clock Challenge, Cross cut a promo and told Bayley to find a friend of her own who is as loyal and honest as Bliss and who could slap some sense into Bayley. Bayley then laid out Cross with a Bayley-to-Belly and flying elbow drop.
WWE didn’t officially announce who would become champion if Cross pins Bayley at Extreme Rules.

A Moment of Bliss segment is set for tonight’s episode of Raw.
Ahead of tonight’s show, WWE announced that Nikki Cross will be Alexa Bliss’ guest on A Moment of Bliss. The segment will be part of the build to Bliss challenging for Bayley’s SmackDown Women’s Championship at Extreme Rules on July 14.
Bliss getting the title shot at Extreme Rules was set up when Cross defeated Bayley in a non-title match on SmackDown last Tuesday.
Bayley retained against Bliss at Stomping Grounds last month. Cross was in Bliss’ corner, and Bliss blamed Cross for her loss. Bayley hit Cross on a dive when Bliss pushed Cross in her way. Cross tried to go after Bayley, then Bayley got her knees up on a Twisted Bliss attempt and pinned Bliss after hitting the Bayley-to-Belly.
Tonight’s Raw is taking place at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Braun Strowman vs. Bobby Lashley in a falls count anywhere match is set for the episode, and two members of The New Day will take on The Viking Raiders.
