Police conclude investigation into Hulk Hogan’s death

The Clearwater Police Department has completed its investigation into the death of Hulk Hogan.

Hogan passed away at the age of 71 on July 24, 2025. At the time of his death, he had been diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia and had begun chemotherapy. He had also recently undergone a heart valve procedure and neck fusion surgery. The official cause of his death is listed as an acute myocardial infarction, commonly known as a heart attack.

On Friday, the Clearwater Police Department released a 72-page report on Hogan’s death, officially classifying it as an “attended natural death” and confirming that there was no evidence of foul play.

A segment of their findings reads:

Following an exhaustive review of the statements, medical records, surveillance footage from within the residence, and a visual inspection of Mr. Bollea’s body, there has been no evidence to indicate the death of Terry Bollea was anything other than natural. Through the course of the investigation, there has been no evidence to indicate any criminal wrongdoing related to his death. This case will be closed, and will be considered solved, non-criminal.

Jimmy Hart recalls Hulk Hogan’s reaction following WWE Raw on Netflix debut appearance

Jimmy Hart expressed hesitation and Hulk Hogan’s reaction to the backlash on his last WWE appearance at Raw’s Netflix debut in 2025.

On the latest What Do You Wanna Talk About Podcast episode with Cody Rhodes, Hart reflected on the sentiments going into the segment with Hogan. He was reluctant at first given Hogan’s public statements about his political selection.

“I said, ‘you know where we’re going? We’re going to California’ And like I said before, I’m not a Democrat or Republican. I’m jabroni.”

“But here’s the deal. I said, ‘I don’t like this’. ‘Jimmy, don’t worry about it.’ I went, ‘Okay’. We get out of the van there, nice town car puts us there. Some fans go ‘Hulk, we loved you, but you love them. We don’t like you anymore.’ You know. I said ‘Hulk, I don’t feel good about this’. ‘Jimmy, don’t worry about it.’ We go in the back. You know what I’m worrying about it.”

“So we’re in the back and Hulk, he goes ‘Jimmy Hart, what do you think?’ He’d always ask before we do something. And I just said, ‘no, everything’s good, you know, everything’s okay’. So, we went out and did the little thing with, rehearse where we were going to stand and help coming out, do his little deal. And I’m waving the flag.”

“So we finish it, then we go in the back. And of course, then Hulk comes up going ‘hey, the radio was good on that segment we did’. And I said, ‘well, I guess they should be because with all the commotion that happened on it, I guess we should have.”

“And I said ‘but you kept telling me, don’t worry about it. Well, I was worried about it’. And he goes, ‘Jimmy, look, sometimes you got to do what you got to do.’ And he said ‘I’ve made my bed and I’ve got to lie in it. That’s who I wanted to vote for. That’s what I wanted to do’. He said ‘I knew in my heart going in there might be a catchy thing’. But he knew it, you know.”

The segment, which was also intended to promote Hogan’s Real American Beer, garnered heavy boos from the audience due to his outspoken political views. After his passing, Vince McMahon expressed anger over the presentation and reaction to Hogan’s appearance on the debut program.

Hulk Hogan’s former accountant indicted on embezzlement charges

Hulk Hogan’s former accountant is facing several embezzlement-related charges, though it’s unconfirmed if the late wrestling legend is the victim in the case.

TMZ Sports reports that Melissia Gauthreaux of Accounting Resources and Management Services has been indicted for allegedly stealing $890,000 from a “public figure.” While that person has not been identified, TMZ says she was employed by Hogan during the 2017-2021 period where this embezzlement allegedly took place.

“Melissia Gauthreaux has been charged with six counts of wire fraud, after the feds say she used her business, Accounting Resources and Management Services, to embezzle enormous amounts of money between 2017 and 2021,” TMZ wrote.

“Our sources tell us Hogan employed Gauthreaux during that time period … and one of her duties was bookkeeping.”

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida says $894,274.26 is the exact amount Gauthreaux is accused of stealing. She could potentially be sentenced to 20 years in prison for each of the six wire fraud charges she’s facing:

  • Tampa, Florida – Melissia Gauthreaux has been charged by federal indictment with six counts of wire fraud. If convicted, Gauthreaux faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison on each count. The indictment also notifies Gauthreaux that the United States is seeking an order of forfeiture in the amount of $894,274.26, the proceeds of the charged criminal conduct. U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe made the announcement.
  • According to the indictment, Gauthreaux was the founder, president, and managing member of Accounting Resources and Management Services, LLC. From 2017 through 2021, Gauthreaux used her business to steal more than $890,000 from one of her clients, a public figure who lived in the Middle District of Florida. Gauthreaux had signatory authority on her client’s bank accounts and was able to remove the funds without the client’s knowledge or consent.

Hogan passed away at 71 years old in Clearwater, Florida in July 2025. During WrestleMania 42 weekend last month, WWE honored him by inducting Hogan vs. Andre the Giant from WrestleMania 3 into the Hall of Fame as this year’s Legacy Award winner.

A Netflix docuseries titled “Hulk Hogan: Real American” debuted on April 22 and includes the final interview Hogan filmed before passing away.

‘No talk’ of using additional Hulk Hogan documentary footage

The makers of the Hulk Hogan documentary say they have enough unused footage to produce more episodes but as of now, there are no plans to continue the project.

Bryan Storkel, director of Hulk Hogan: Real American, discussed the remaining Hogan material on the Ham Radio Show Friday.

“There’s definitely more that you could cover,” Storkel said. “I mean, there’s so many things that got cut out. But we decided on four parts and like that, it’s four hours worth, and we just put in the best stuff or the stuff we could fit. I think there’s so much more though.”

Storkel said he does not expect anything new to see the light of day.

“I mean, I think you can [do more episodes], there would be an argument made for that,” he said. “But there’s definitely no talk of that.”

Hulk Hogan: Real American is available to stream on Netflix. The four individual episodes range in length from 46 minutes to 1 hour, 19 minutes, totaling almost exactly four hours in length.

Nick Hogan reportedly receiving offers from wrestling schools

Earlier this week, we reported that Nick Hogan, son of the late Hulk Hogan, was still considering a wrestling career. Should he choose that path, he’ll have no trouble finding a place to get started.

According to a report by Fightful Select, several wrestling schools have expressed interest in training the younger Hogan.

“Regarding Nick Hogan saying he’d consider a wrestling career if the opportunity was right,” the report reads, “Fightful Select has heard that a number of trainers & schools have said that they have offered to train him if he was interested.”

Hogan, 35, became commissioner of Real American Freestyle after his father’s passing. He originally discussed the idea of training in a conversation with Eric Bischoff on the 83 Weeks podcast

“Oh my goodness, you never know,” he said. “I bounced around here and there and knock the ring rust off every now and again. I’ve been attracted to it my whole life. So, I will say I’m in a pretty darn good shape right now and it’s not unfamiliar territory. So, if the time ever comes or if the opportunity ever presents itself, I would absolutely welcome that.”

Hulk Hogan docuseries big success in first week on Netflix

The four-part Hulk Hogan docuseries on Netflix was a big viewership success for in its first week on the streaming service.

Revealed as part of the streamer’s weekly Tudum rankings, ‘Hulk Hogan: Real American’ finished fifth overall in the world, just behind last week’s edition of WWE Raw.

The series brought in three million views globally and 12.3 million global hours viewed based on a total runtime of 4:06.

Co-produced by WWE, It was a top ten series in ten countries worldwide and was also fifth in the U.S. behind Raw.

After Hogan’s passing last year, it was announced last December that Netflix was continuing to move ahead with the project with the name and release date revealed three weeks ago.

By comparison, the Vince McMahon docuseries was the fourth most-watched show on Netflix globally after just four day on the service from September 23-29, 2024. The series was viewed 4.9 million times during that period with 28.2 million total hours streamed.

Nick Hogan would ‘absolutely welcome’ opportunity to pursue wrestling career

Nick Hogan expressed his first reaction to watching the final version of Hulk Hogan: Real American docuseries. He also commented on his potential in-ring career.

Speaking on the Bonus Edition of 83 Weeks Podcast, Nick Hogan addressed the possibility of pursuing a wrestling career like his father. He stated often knocking off ring rust, being in good shape and open to the idea if ever given the opportunity.

“Oh my goodness, you never know. I bounced around here and there and knock the ring rust off every now and again. I’ve been attracted to it my whole life. So, I will say I’m in a pretty darn good shape right now and it’s not unfamiliar territory. So, if the time ever comes or if the opportunity ever presents itself, I would absolutely welcome that.”

Nick also talked about how Hulk Hogan’s real dynamic was presented in the documentary.

“That was the point of this project was for people to understand how dynamic of a person he is. And I say that a lot is that, you know, the character was dynamic. He was a good guy, he was a bad guy. And there’s all these different nuances to the character. But as a person, you know, he was equally as dynamic, if not more. He was, you know, he was everything that you see as Hulk Hogan, but he was also a terrific human being. And he was so good with people, and he took time with everybody that wanted to talk to him. And he spent so much time putting goodwill into the community. And he did so many things for children with illnesses and the Boys and Girls Club. And I think that he really pulled back the curtain on a lot of that part of him for this documentary.”

Around 2019 a Hulk Hogan biopic was discussed featuring Chris Hemsworth as the lead. However, multiple cancellations and concerns led to the delay. In the interview, Nick stated that despite the delay it remains a possibility.

The Hulk Hogan: Real American docuseries premiered on April 22 on Netflix.

Nick Hogan says Hulk Hogan biopic remains a possibility

Shortly before the pandemic, word started to spread that a Hulk Hogan biopic was in the works for Netflix. That project was eventually scrapped, but following the success of the streaming service’s Hogan documentary, might a Hulkster movie still be in the cards?

Hogan’s son Nick discussed the idea with Eric Bischoff in an appearance on 83 Weeks

“I definitely think there is potential for that,” the younger Hogan said. “I think there is absolutely potential.”

Names formerly attached to the project include Todd Phillips, director of Joker, and Chris Hemsworth, best known for playing Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“When all that talk was happening with Chris Hemsworth, I thought that was cool because I’m a huge Chris Hemsworth fan,” he said. “I love the Thor movies and all his projects. He’s an excellent actor. His phsyique and the way he looks, he would play a great Hulk Hogan. That would be really cool.”

And if Hemsworth wasn’t available all these years later? “Even if it wasn’t him, or if it was a different project, I think there is a lot of meat on the bone for his story to be told in that way and I would really love to see that,” Nick said. “I think it’s definitely possible.”

Bischoff then said he had been in contact with Scott Silver, whose screenwriting credits include Joker and 8 Mile. Bischoff agreed that a Hogan movie could be possible.

Hulk Hogan was taking ‘deadly’ amount of fentanyl while with TNA

While he was with TNA Wrestling, Hulk Hogan was using a dangerous amount of fentanyl to deal with all of the pain his body was in.

Netflix’s new “Hulk Hogan: Real American” docuseries premiered today with all four episodes now available to stream. In the final part, Hogan, in one of his final interviews, opens up about the difficult time he went through after getting divorced from his first wife Linda. Joining TNA helped save Hogan financially, but his body was in tremendous pain whenever he had to get physically involved in the ring.

Hogan said there were times where — after so many hip, knee, and back surgeries — he had to sleep in a chair because the bed was too painful. At other points, Eric Bischoff had to help Hogan get out of bed and get ready.

“I was taking 80-milligram fentanyls, two in the morning, stuffing them under my gums,” Hogan said. “I had two 300-milligram patches of fentanyl on my legs. And they gave me six 1500-mg fentanyl lollipops to eat. And I went to the pharmacy, he goes, ‘You should be dead. We have never seen a human being take this much fentanyl.'”

Hogan was with TNA from 2009-2013 and had the final match of his career there in 2012. He passed away at 71 years old in July 2025, with his death coming after several weeks of complications following another surgery.

Bret Hart: Hulk Hogan was a ‘good guy once upon a time,’ became a ‘backstabbing’ piece of sh*t

Bret Hart and Hulk Hogan’s narratives of their conflict at WrestleMania IX is documented in Hulk Hogan: Real American.

The third episode of the docuseries titled Hollywood Hogan discusses Hogan’s involvement after the WrestleMania IX main event, where he ran out to assist Hart after he lost the WWF Championship to Yokozuna. During the match, Mr. Fuji, Yokozuna’s manager, threw ceremonial salt in Hart’s eyes which led to his title loss.

The narration in the docuseries swings back and forth between both men’s perspectives as they recount their sentiments on what transpired.

Hart: “I remember walking up to him, I was like, ‘Hey Terry.’ I stood up with my hand out to shake his hand for about 30 seconds but he wouldn’t even look at me. He just kept talking to (Brutus) Beefcake.”

Hogan: “I can’t imagine doing that intentionally. Maybe I had an off day. Maybe I was drunk, maybe I was high. I don’t know. I don’t know what to tell you, but it wouldn’t have been intentional.”

Hart: “I knew right then and there. I was like ‘I’ve got the belt and I’ve got what he wants and I’m the enemy now.'”

Hogan: “I had that Hogan stroke back then. Me and Vince (McMahon) were just bonded at the hip and I could pull the plug on certain things and certain people.”

Hart: “That day I remember thinking what a step backwards. It was a whole different audience and they were liking me, not Hulk Hogan”

Hogan: “Bret got all up in my face and he got all riled up. I said, ‘What’s up with this guy? I thought he was a team player, man.’….Vince made the decision, it’s just one of those things.”

Hart: “I said it’s going to backfire and it’s going to be really bad. ‘F*ck you’. Hulk came up with such a phoney, bullsh*t match. The kind of match that Hulk would dream up. Hogan came out like the hero. ‘Yeah, he’s my friend coming out to my rescue. Go get him Hulk. Go in there and win my belt. Win it for me’. It sucked. People would be going ‘Why did they do that to Bret Hart?’. He was a good guy once upon a time, but in the end he was a backstabbing, knife-wielding piece of sh*t.”

Earlier that night, Hogan teamed up with Brutus Beefcake to take on Ted Dibiase and Irwin R. Schyster for the WWF Tag Team Titles.

After the main event, Hogan defeated Yokozuna in an impromptu match to become the new WWF Champion. His reign ended 70 days later by Yokozuna at King of the Ring in 1993.

Hogan passed away on July 24, 2025 at the age of 71. His match against Andre The Giant at WrestleMania III was honored with the Immortal Moment Award at the 2026 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.

Netflix documentary reveals how Triple H addressed Hulk Hogan’s death

Netflix’s newly released Hulk Hogan documentary reveals how Paul “Triple H” Levesque handled the death of one of WWE’s biggest stars of all time.

In the last episode of the four-part series, there is a clip of Levesque addressing WWE staff backstage the day after Hogan’s death. Levesque indirectly acknowledged Hogan’s racism controversy but said the company was still going to remember what he meant to the industry, holding a 10-bell salute on that night’s SmackDown episode. He said if anyone did not want to participate in the tribute, they would face no issues for skipping it.

“All right, guys, welcome to Cleveland. Just before we get started, as I’m sure everyone is aware, unfortunate passing of Hulk Hogan yesterday,” Levesque said. “Hard to say there’s been a more influential figure, especially on the performing side. No one is perfect in life, and they had ups and downs, but we’re going to continue to remember Hulk Hogan as what he meant to this industry.

“His influence cannot be denied and it cannot be overstated. You could make an argument that we probably wouldn’t be sitting here today. This business might have gone the way of roller derby or some other sh*t that didn’t quite make it to the end. But here we are. So we’re going to start this show out tonight with a 10-bell salute with everybody on stage. I don’t think it needs to be said, but anybody that has an issue, does not want to be on that stage — no problem, no issue, no anything.”

WWE has continued to honor Hogan following his July 2025 passing. During WrestleMania weekend, a Hogan statue was unveiled at WWE World. The company then inducted Hogan vs. Andre the Giant from WrestleMania III into the Hall of Fame as this year’s Immortal Moment Award winner.

The “Hulk Hogan: Real American” docuseries also includes an interview with Cody Rhodes that was conducted at the July 25, 2025 SmackDown episode.

“I know it’s complicated,” Rhodes said about Hogan’s death. “I do, how everyone feels. But I think we all have to kind of wrestle with the idea that he’s gone. And there’s so many great things about ‘The Immortal’ Hulk Hogan. Can we focus on those?”

The final WWE appearance of Hogan’s career was at Raw’s Netflix premiere in January 2025, where Hogan was loudly booed by the crowd. Levesque said he was not surprised by the booing.

“Did I think he was going to be booed out of the building? Probably. Especially in LA. Right? Like, there’s just a different vibe there and a different mentality there,” Levesque said. “He’s made a lot of mistakes. For some people, he hasn’t necessarily always atoned for those mistakes. Or even the apologies were seen as hollow.”

At the end of the docuseries, there is a clip of Vince McMahon speaking at Hogan’s funeral and asking everyone to cheer for Hogan one last time.
