Triple threat Women’s title unification match set for WWE NXT Worlds Collide

A triple threat match will unify the NXT and NXT UK Women’s titles at Worlds Collide.

NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose, UK Champion Meiko Satomura, and Blair Davenport will meet on September 4. The match was made tonight after Satomura made her NXT debut and accepted challenges from both Rose and Davenport.

After Davenport defeated Indi Hartwell on Tuesday’s NXT, she said that since she was number one contender for the NXT UK title, she may as well also be the number one contender for the NXT Women’s title. Rose came out and complemented Davenport, but demanded Davenport put respect on her name. Satomura came out and said she was the most dominant champion and challenged Rose to a unification match at World’s Collide. Davenport interrupted, again saying she was the number one contender. Satomura then made the challenge a triple threat match.

Here is the lineup so far for Worlds Collide:

  • Bron Breakker vs. Tyler Bate for the NXT and NXT UK Championships
  • Mandy Rose vs. Meiko Satomura vs. Blair Davenport for the NXT and NXT UK Women’s Championships

WWE NXT video highlights: Diamond Mine vs. D’Angelo family

NXT this week featured a title being pulled out of the trash and an eight-man tag team match in the main event.

Zoey Stark would kick off the show after winning the battle royal last week and earning the next shot at Mandy Rose’s NXT Women’s Championship. Stark challenged Rose to put the title on the line then and there but instead would face Toxic Attraction’s Gigi Dolin later in the show. After Stark defeated Dolin and fended off an attack from Jacy Jayne, Cora Jade came out of nowhere to hit her with a kendo stick. This led to Roxanne Perez making the save and sending Jade scurrying out of the ring. It was later announced that Stark will challenge Rose on the August 16 episode branded as NXT Heatwave.

The future of the NXT Women’s Tag Team titles was also addressed on this week’s show. After Jade tossed her title in the trash last week, Alundra Blayze helped Roxanne Perez pull it back out again this week. Blayze then announced the titles will be decided in a fatal 4-way match next week.

It was also announced that at NXT Heatwave, Bron Breakker will defend the NXT Championship against JD McDonagh.

In the night’s main event, The D’Angelo Family picked up the victory against the Diamond Mine, which may lead to further dissension amongst Roderick Strong, Damon Kemp, and the Creed Brothers.

Two NXT title matches set for August 16 Heatwave special

Two title matches have been set for NXT’s next television special.

It was announced on Tuesday’s NXT that Bron Breakker will defend the NXT Championship against JD McDonagh at Heatwave, which will air on the August 16 edition of NXT. Mandy Rose, meanwhile, will defend the NXT Women’s Championship against Zoey Stark.

Breakker confronted McDonagh on tonight’s show and revealed he would be defending the title against McDonagh in three weeks, and there would be a summit on next week’s NXT to make things official. McDonagh headbutted Breakker, but Breakker struck him back to end the segment.

On Tuesday’s show, Stark came out to open the show and mentioned the title match at Heatwave. Toxic Attraction came out, which led to a match being made for later in the show between Stark and Gigi Dolin. Stark defeated Dolin. After the match, Cora Jade came out from the crowd and attacked Stark. However, Roxanne Perez, who Jade turned on two weeks ago, came out to make the save.

Zoey Stark returns to WWE NXT, wins 20-woman battle royal

Mandy Rose has her next challenger for the NXT Women’s Championship.

Zoey Stark returned from injury at tonight’s NXT and ended up winning the 20-woman battle royal, last eliminating Cora Jade. The finish had Stark eliminating Tiffany Stratton. Stark was celebrating on the turnbuckle when Jade, who was chased away early in the match but never eliminated, came into the ring. Stark saw her and threw Jade over the top rope and to the floor, officially eliminating her. The show ended with Stark and Rose having a staredown.

Stark had been out of action since suffering a MCL injury during a ladder match for the NXT Women’s Tag Team titles at Halloween Havoc. On the November 2, 2021 edition of NXT, she was written off television after Toxic Attraction attacked Stark backstage.

Signing with the WWE in January 2021, Stark made her NXT televised debut in February. At the Great American Bash on July 6, Stark and Io Shirai defeated Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell for the NXT Women’s Tag Team titles.

Participants revealed for 20-woman battle royal on WWE NXT

The 20 women taking part in the NXT battle royal on Tuesday have been revealed.

NXT sent out a tweet tonight with an updated graphic for the match, showing 20 women. Those shown include Yulisa Leon, Sloane Jacobs, Lash Legend, Tatum Paxley, Tiffany Stratton, Elektra Lopez, Arianna Grace, Valentina Feroz, Kianna James, Sarray, Wendy Choo, Amari Miller, Fallon Henley, Indi Hartwell, Cora Jade, Alba Fyre, Nikkita Lyons, Katana Chance, Kayden Carter, and Ivy Nile.

The winner of the match will be the next challenger for the NXT Women’s Championship, which is currently held by Mandy Rose. Rose successfully retained the championship on last week’s show after Jade turned on challenger Roxanne Perez, smashing Perez in the back with the NXT Women’s Tag Team title.

Here is the lineup for tomorrow’s NXT:

  • JD McDonagh vs. Cameron Grimes
  • 20-woman battle royal for a NXT Women’s Championship title shot
  • Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen vs. Pretty Deadly for the NXT UK Tag Team titles
  • Roderick Strong vs. Damon Kemp
  • Axiom in-ring debut
  • Von Wagner/Solo Sikoa confrontation
  • The Schism reveal their identities

20-woman battle royal announced for WWE NXT

A battle royal will determine the next challenger for the NXT Women’s Championship.

WWE announced this afternoon that a 20-woman battle royal will determine the next challenger for the title, which is currently held by Mandy Rose.

Rose defended the title on this week’s show, defeating Roxanne Perez. The finish came when Cora Jade, Perez’s tag team partner, turned on her by attacking Perez in the back with one half of the NXT Women’s Tag Team titles, which they currently hold. Rose then used the opportunity to pin Perez to retain.

After the match, Jade continued the assault on Perez, attacking her with her skateboard.

Here is the updated lineup for next week’s NXT:

  • JD McDonagh vs. Cameron Grimes
  • 20-woman battle royal for a NXT Women’s Championship title shot
  • Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen vs. Pretty Deadly for the NXT UK Tag Team titles
  • Roderick Strong vs. Damon Kemp
  • Axiom in-ring debut
  • The Schism reveal their identities

WWE NXT live results: Mandy Rose vs. Roxanne Perez title match

One week after winning the Women’s Tag Team titles, Roxanne Perez will look to capture more gold on NXT.

Perez is cashing in her Breakout Tournament title shot contract to challenge for Mandy Rose’s NXT Women’s Championship tonight. Perez & Cora Jade defeated Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne) at the Great American Bash last Tuesday to become the new NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Perez announced her intention to cash in last week, saying that she wants to put an end to Toxic Attraction’s reign once and for all.

The Great American Bash also saw Bron Breakker retain his NXT Championship against Cameron Grimes, Carmelo Hayes retain the North American Championship against Grayson Waller, and The Creed Brothers retain the NXT Tag Team titles against their fellow Diamond Mine members Roderick Strong & Damon Kemp.

Tonight’s show will feature the fallout from last week’s special. Plus, Apollo Crews vs. Giovanni Vinci and Solo Sikoa vs. Von Wagner are set for tonight.

Our live coverage begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

**********

The show begins with a music video recapping The Great American Bash.

Suddenly, cameras cut to a parking lot where Roxanne Perez is the victim of an apparent attack. Cora Jade is by her side as Perez flails on the ground selling the beatdown. This immediately puts the women’s title match in question for later tonight.

Opening match for this episode of NXT was set up in a skit last week when the two combatants had words. Crew also had words with someone else on the previous episode, which plays into the finish of his match that is up next.

Giovanni Vinci defeats Apollo Crews

Vinci pins Crews, after outside interference when Xyon Quinn attacks Crews at ringside.

Vinci is in control working over Crews as the show cuts to a commercial break. Crews eventually mounts a comeback when the show returns from the break.

Vinci went for a springboard off the middle rope, and Crews dropkicks him in mid-air. Crews continues to rally, and he is fired up. Crews counters Vinci to set up a trifecta of German suplexes. The live studio audience chants “suplex city.”

Crews is cut off after Vinci nails him with a lariat. Vinci lifts Crews into a delayed vertical suplex, and Vinci gets a two count. Another two count for Vinci on a schoolboy roll-up. Crews then smacks Vinci in the face with a high kick.

Ever the ring general, Vinci rolls out of the ring so that Crews is unable to capitalize. A planted fan is standing up at ringside filming Vinci with a cellphone camera. Vinci snatches the phone from the fan. Crew gets Vinci and rolls him back into the ring.

Vinci rolls into the ring with the cellphone. The referee picks up the phone, and he goes across the ring to get rid of it. Meanwhile, Xyon Quinn hops the barricade behind the ref’s back. Quinn attacks Crews, leveling him with a forearm smash.

Aftering the outside interference, Quinn rolls Crews back into the ring. Vinci executes a sit-out Last Ride powerbomb, and Vinci pins Crews for a tainted victory.

McKenzie Mitchell interviews Cora Jade from a backstage set. Jade blames Toxic Attraction for the attack on Perez from earlier tonight. Jade says those “bitches” will have “hell to pay” if Perez is not cleared to wrestle tonight. Keep in mind how ready and overanxious Jade is to replace Perez. That plays into the story later on.

A vignette with Tiffany Stratton shows her at the nail salon. She compliments the person giving her a manicure, and then she buries that person to management moments later.

JD McDonagh’s cheapshot on Cameron Grimes

Cameron Grimes is heading to the ring for a monologue. Hands in his pockets and head down, Grimes looks dejected as he quietly walks down the ramp.

Grimes apologizing to the fans for not winning. He flubs a line and almost calls the NXT Championship the North American Championship. Grimes rolls with it, and he turns the flub into part of the promo. Great recovery.

“Thought I was going to the moon,” Grimes says, “but I crashed into the sun.”

Grimes noted that NXT Champion Bron Breakker is out with a supposed injury.

Grimes’ monologue is interrupted by JD McDonagh, who re-debuted last week on NXT (under his new moniker in a cliffhanger angle where he attacked Breakker).

McDonagh says he does not want to kick a guy when he is down, yet he goes on to cut a promo on Grimes.

Although he says Grimes showed a lot of heart last week, McDonagh suggests to Grimes that he “wrap up this little pity party, and do your crying in the back.”

McDonagh says Grimes became old news when he lost to Breakker. McDonash begins to ramble about when he was supposed to debut. Thankfully, Grimes stops him. Grimes calls him an “Irish asshole.”

They glare at each other, and McDonagh suddenly cheapshots Grimes with a headbutt to the face. Grimes fires up, but McDonagh powders to the outside. They scream at each from a distance, and Grimes rages. Clearly, this sets up a match between the two.

Damon Kemp and the Creed Brothers are watching video of Reed’s match last week. Creeds leave, and Roderick Strong enters the room. He shuts off the video, and he cuts a promo on Kemp. Strong reveals he is facing Kemp in a match next week.

Grayson Waller in a backstage interview cuts a promo on Wes Lee.

Tatum Paxley defeats Kayden Carter

Paxley pins Carter, with help from coaching by Ivy Nile.

Nile comes down to ringside during the match. Nile has been mentoring Paxley, and she offers supports as a surprise second in this bout.

Carter has Paxley in a leglock, and Paxley struggles to reach the ropes. Paxley gets a rope break, and Nile offers some quick advice. Paxley then catches Carter in a guillotine, and Paxley rolls through and transitions into a pinning position. Paxley scores the pinfall for an upset.

Joe Gacy’s cult faction is now called Schism. So there’s that. The hooded druids will apparently reveal themselves next week. He also invited others to set under his cult’s tree, or something like that. I don’t think that is the same learning tree Ernie Ladd was talking about.

In a pre-taped skit, Briggs & Jensen are drinking beer at a country bar. Fallon Henley is bartending, and they toast to Briggs & Jensen winning the NXT UK Tag Team Championship.

Into the bar walks Pretty Deadly, dressed in cowboys hats and Western apparel. Pretty Deadly cut a promo on Briggs & Jensen. There is almost a bar fight, but there is a challenge instead for a match next week on NXT. Later in the show, a NXT UK Tag Team Championship title match is made official for next Tuesday.

Sanga defeats Duke Hudson

Sanga dominates over Hudson, and Sanga pins Hudson after a chokeslam.

Last week Sanga did a cannonball into a swimming pool. That caused Hudson to get an ear infection after he got water in his ears. Thus, they settled their dispute in a wrestling match. Sanga then wins in dominant fashion.

In a backstage interview, the Toxic Attraction trio denies any involvement in the earlier assault on Roxanne Perez.

Solo Sikoa vs. Von Wagner (with Mr. Stone & Sofia Cromwell) ends with a double countout

The fighting begins before the bell. Sikoa meets Wagner on the entrance ramp, and brawling ensues. They get into the ring, and they lock up as the bell rings.

The hoss fight goes through a commercial break. Wagner has Sikoa grounded on the mat as the show returns from the break.

Sikoa explodes into a comeback, and the fight spills outside the ring. Wagner smashes Sikoa’s head into the announce desk, and Sikoa no sells. A slugfest ensues at ringside. In the meantime, the ref counts out both. The match ends in a countout, but the two keep fighting until being pulled apart for now. Yet, the fight is not yet over. More on that later.

A great vignette features North American Champion Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams celebrating at a penthouse pool with apparent groupies.

Lash Legend cuts a promo ahead of her match tonight against Indi Hartwell. Foreshadowing the return of a character, Legends rolls a basketball on the floor. A baseball bat stops the basketball from rolling, teasing the return of Alba Fyre.

Andre Chase and his Chase University students are touring London. A humorous video package shows Chase with his star students, Bodhi Hayward and Thea Hail, as they see the sights.

Indi Hartwell defeats Lash Legend

Hartwell pins Legend after a distraction and a botch.

Alba Fyre appears during the match to taunt Legend. Fyre stands on a perch overlooking the ring, while the basketball seen in an earlier skit.

Hartwell slips trying to springboard off the top rope. She falls into the ring, and they call an audible. Legend goes to cover Hartwell, but Hartwell reverses it to awkwardly cradle Legend for a three count.

Fyre confronts Legend after the match, and Fyre points her bat at Legend like she is Sting. Legend flees as Fyre swings the bat at her.

Solo Sikoa and Von Wagner are still brawling. They burst through a backstage door with a slugfest. Officials and referees pour in behind them trying to separate the two.

Sikoa and Wagner continue their brawl after a commercial break, and the fight spills outside the building. They are eventually separated. Sofia Cromwell is able to calm down Wagner. Mr. Stone cuts a promo on Sikoa, who in turn tosses Stone into a nearby dumpster.

Tony D’Angelo tells Legado del Fantasma that we are about to find how loyal they are to the family.

Tony D’Angelo & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo defeats Edris Enofe & Malik Blade

D’Angelo pins Blade to win the match. D’Angelo afterwards orders a beatdown.

The heels work over Enofe, until a hot tag to Blade. Stacks bumps and feeds for Blade. At ringside, D’Angelo shoves Enfoe backwards into the ring steps. That distracts Blade, pausing his rally.

Stacks cuts off Blade, and D’Angelo tags in. D’Angelo executes a twisting fisherman’s buster, and he pins Blade.

Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde jump Blade after the match, acting on orders from D’Angelo. The heels lay out Blade, and they stand over him. D’Angelo seems proud of Toro and Wilde.

Nikkita Lyons denies any involvement in the assault on Roxanne Perez. However, Lyons does offer to take her place in the title match.

NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose, flanked by Toxic Attraction, is heading to the ring. Her challenger for tonight’s main event remains in question.

A vignette features a new masked character named Axiom. The anonymous character takes inspiration from comic books to become his own version of a masked superhero. He debuts next week.

Announced for next Tuesday on NXT:

  • Brooks Jensen & Josh Briggs defend their NXT UK Tag Team titles against challengers Pretty Deadly
  • Cameron Grimes vs. JD McDonagh
  • Roderick Strong vs. Damon Kemp
  • Axiom in-ring debut
  • The Schism reveal their identities

Up next is the main event, but first an angle.

The Spirit of ’76

NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose comes to the ring alongside Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolan. Rose says Perez could not beat her tonight, and Rose claims no one can beat her for the title.

The live studio audience gets into an impromptu shouting match. “Shut the hell up” chants are countered by shouts of “let her talk.”

Rose says no one can challenge her for the title because she runs NXT. Cora Jade interrupts Rose, telling Rose to shut up. Jade says the fans were promised a title match, and that is what they are going to get.

Jade says she will step in replace Perez in the title match. Suddenly, Perez hobbles on stage selling her ribs. Perez passes Jade on the entrance ramp, and Jade tries to tell Perez not to wrestle.

Jade and Perez briefly bicker. This seems to plant seeds for a future heel turn. Is Jade the unknown assailant in a Tonya Harding angle? The plot thickens.

Mandy Rose (with Toxic Attraction) defeats Roxanne Perez (with Cora Jade) to retain her title

Rose pins Perez after outside interference, when Cora Jade turns heel on Perez.

Rose during the match works over Perez, targeting the taped up back and ribs. The match goes through a commercial break with Perez in peril.

The tape is removed around the ribs during the break, and Rose continues to target the injury when the show returns from commercials.

Perez rallies, and she makes a comeback. Rose crashes into a ring post, and she tumbles out of the ring. Perez leaps through the ropes with a dive to the outside.

Delivering her finisher on the floor, Perez executes Pop Rocks on Rose. Jade seemingly looks to help Perez, but that was a ruse. Jade then turns on Perez.

Jade takes the NXT Women’s Tag Team title belt she brought to ringside with her, and she hits Perez in her injured back with the title belt. Jade has now turned on her own tag team partner, despite them still being the tag champs.

Jade sneers at Perez as Rose delivers a running knee strike that lays out Perez. Rose then covers Perez for a three count, and Rose retains her title.

Jade attacks Perez after the match, and Jade is supposed to smash a skateboard into pieces as she hits Perez with it. Instead, the skateboard breaks into pieces as Jade is swinging it, which is unintentional comedy. An enraged Jade screams she hates Perez as the show goes off the air.

A non-title match between NXT Tag Team Champions Pretty Deadly and Diamond Mine’s Roderick Strong & Damon Kemp has also been advertised for tonight’s NXT. Our live coverage begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

**********

Opening the show is a tag team grudge match. But first, Tony D’Angelo and his henchmen with a backstage promo on Santos Escobar. Their feud ain’t over, not by a long shot. They go on to threaten Escobar, before heading to the ring for their match.

Meanwhile, Escobar is backstage cool as a fan. He smirks and puts on his sunglasses. No worries.

Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo & Troy “Two Dimes” Donovan (with Tony D’Angelo) defeats Edris Enofe & Malik Blade

Two Dimes pins Blade to win the match. A huge brawl ensues after the match involving Legado del Fantasma.

Enofe & Blade got a lot of offense, which in WWE logic means they go on to lose the match. The offense seems to make them look strong, but they keep losing most of their matches.

Heat on Enfoe as the two heels work him over. In a split screen, Esobar is backstage with Legado del Fantasma. Escobar says they are heading to the ring.

Hot tag to Blade, and he slips when trying to springboard into the ring. Although they almost ruins his momentum, the heels bump and feed. Blade gets a few near falls, and he goes to tag Enofe.

Enofe is pulled off the apron before he can make a tag. Blade is subsequently cut off in the ring. Escobar and Legado del Fantasma enter stage left as Blade is hit with stereo Yakuza kicks.

Two Dimes covers Blade for a three count as D’Angelo’s henchmen get a win. D’Angelo enters the ring immediately after the match is over. He calls out Legado del Fantasma, and they rush the ring.

Huge brawl erupts. Gordon Solie might call it a Pier Sixer in describing the bedlam. Referees and stooges pour out to separate the two factions. The live studio audience chants “let them fight.”

Wes Lee is backstage for an interview with McKenzie Mitchell. Lee, with his ribs taped up, stand by his challenge to Sanga. He is not backing down.

Sanga defeats Wes Lee

Sanga pins Lee after a mauling and a chokelsam.

Vibes of David against Goliath as Sanga manhandles Lee at the outset. Except this time, Goliath wins. Then Goliath seemingly turns babyface after the match.

Lee eventually makes a comeback with a rally. Lee knocks Sanga out of the ring, and Sanga is off his feet at ringside. Not for long.

Sanga cuts off Lee, but makes one last rally. Lee turns a flip taking a lariat from Sanga. Lee then takes a chokeslam, and Sanga covers Lee for a three count.

Xyon Quinn comes into the ring after the match, seemingly to attack Lee. Sanga had left the ring, but he comes back to run off Quinn. Sanga embraces Lee, as the announcers play it up like Lee has earned Sanga’s respect.

Cora Jade gives Roxanne Perez a pep talk ahead of Perez’s match tonight. They tell a story about a show in Austin where someone threw all of their stuff out of the locker room, and then Perez had to the wrestle a match with this person. After the match, Jade hit the person with a skateboard. Jade also says she is going to watch the show tonight from ringside.

NXT Champion Bron Breakker bursts into a locker room looking for Jor Gacy and his druids. Instead, he finds the NXT Championship belt hanging on a locker and a polaroid photograph from his childhood.

Alba Fyre defeats Elektra Lopez

Fyre pins Lopez after a Swanton Bomb. Short match with a short story where Lopez targets an arm, but Fyre is able to overcome the injury and win.

Lopez works an arm as Jade watches the match from a seat in the front row. Fyre cannot execute her Gory Bomb finisher because of the injured arm. Comeback by Fyre nonetheless, and they go right into the finish.

Fyre off the top rope with a Swanton, and she covers Lopez for a pinfall.

Lopex and Jade exchange words at ringside after the match.

Damon Reed tells the rest of Diamond Mine that Roderick Strong rolled his ankle, and their match tonight is off. The Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile are not happy about this.

In a backstage interview, McKenzie Mitchell reveals that Nikkita Lyons is out of the women’s tournament due to injury. Fallon Henley receives a bye to the finals. She is confronted by Tiffany Stratton, who takes exception to Henley getting a bye. This sets up a match later tonight with Stratton against Henley, with Stratton subbing for Lyons in a semifinal tournament match. Henley does not get a bye after all.

Roxanne Perez defeats Lash Legend in a semifinal match in the Women’s Breakout Tournament

Perez advances to the tournament final after pinning Legend. Short match, and they mostly kept it simple. Perez is really good.

The finish came out of nowhere as Legend went for a powerbomb. Perez counters into a Code Red (which is being called “Pop Rocks”), and Perez gets a three count on Legend.

The finish works to get Perez over, while somewhat also protecting Legend. During the match, Legend looks strong, even if she loses in the end.

Toxic Attraction is headed to the ring for a Mandy Rose match. Kayden Carter & Katana Chance jump the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions, Jacy Jayne & Gigi Dolan. This leaves a distraught Mandy Rose alone without her cohorts for her match that is next.

NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose defeats Indi Hartwell in a non-title match

Rose pins Hartwell after some outside interference causes a distraction.

Rose in control early on, until a rally by Hartwell. Rose takes a powder out of the ring as the show cuts to a split screen commercial break.

During the break, Rose cheats to cut off Hartwell. Rose is working her over as the show returns from the break. A second comeback by Hartwell nets her some near falls.

Dolan & Jayne stumble out to ringside where they are again attacked by Carter & Chance. A melee ensues at ringside.

Jayne end up in the ring fighting with Chance, and Jayne throws Chance out of the ring. Jayne then turns around, where she is met by a high kick from Hartwell, who is distracted by the brawl. Hartwell then walks into a running knee strike from Rose, and Rose cover her for a three count.

Jayne & Dolan continue brawling with Chance & Carter. They fight their way off the set.

Rose is celebrating at the top of the entrance ramp. Suddenly, Choo attacks Rose from behind. Choo poses with the championship belt as he stands over a fallen Rose.

NXT Champion Bron Breakker in a backstage interview says Gacy’s mind games will not throw him off his game. As Breakker says that, the monitor backstage shows a clip from a high school football game with a young Breakker. He says his father (Rick Steiner) missed the game because his father was in Japan. McKenzie Mitchell asks Breakker if he is okay, and Breakker responds that Gacy will not get to him.

NXT Tag Team Champions Pretty Deadly cut a promo where they put themselves over ahead of their title defense at In Your House.

Tiffany Stratton defeats Fallon Henley in a semifinal match in the Women’s Breakout tournament

Stratton subs for Lyons in this semifinal, goes on to win, and Stratton now advances to the tournament final.

Stratton continues to improve in the ring, and she is getting good really fast.

Stratton works over a leg, targeting Henley’s knee. Still selling the leg, Henley manages to make a comeback. Yet, her injured knee buckles.

Stratton capitalizes, and she springboards into a corkscrew splash. A three count later, and Stratton advances to the tournament final.

Kacey Carter & Katana Chance issue a challenge to Toxic Attraction for tag title match at In Your House. Wendy Choo also challenges Mandy Rose to a singles title match.

Another vignette with Thea Hail where she talks about going to college while also being signed by WWE. Next week she announces which college she plans to attend.

Duke Hudson and Bron Breakker have words ahead of their match later on. Breakker snaps and puts his hands on Hudson. The story going into their match tonight is Breakker is a loose cannon.

Von Wagner (with Mr. Stone) defeats Ikemen Jiro

Wagner pins Jiro to win the match.

Jiro rushes into the ring to attack Wagner before the bell. Wagner soon cuts him off, and Wagner begins to mauling Jiro.

Escaping a long bear hug spot, Jiro explodes into a comeback. He springboard into a missile dropkick, and generally runs wild.

Jiro with an Asai moonsault, and he follows up with a tornado DDT for a near fall. Wagner cuts off Jiro by tugging on his jacket. Wagner pulls the jacket over Jiro’s head like they are in a hockey fight.

Wagner pummels Jiro with punches, and then Wagner executes a modified Attitude Adjustment. Wagner then covers Jiro for a pinfall.

Sofia Cromwell appears on the entrance ramp after the match. She orders Wagner to attack Jiro again. Jeff Briggs runs to make a save, and he sends Wagner packing back up the ramp. This seems to set up Briggs vs. Wagner.

Tony D’Angelo challenges Santos Escobar to “one last business meeting” at In Your House.

An angry Mandy Rose accepts the challenge from Wendy Choo. The tag champs also accept the challenge from Carter & Chance.

A video package feature shows Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams going to the barber shop. It was much better than my description. NXT North American Champion Cameron Grimes shows up to confront Hayes at the barber shop.

Bron Breakker heads to the ring for a match, while Joe Gacy lurks backstage with two hooded druids. Gacy says they are getting to Breakker, and they will make sure of it in the next match.

A vignette from Rome hypes the arrival of Giovanni Vinci. He apparently has a lot of style. He is very fashionable.

Announced for next Tuesday on NXT:

  • “Championship Summit” with NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Toxic Attraction and their challengers, Katana Chance & Kayden Carter
  • NXT North American Champion Cameron Grimes vs. Nathan Frazier
  • Cora Jade vs. Elektra Lopez

Duke Hudson defeats NXT Champion Bron Breakker via disqualification in a non-title match

Breakker hits Hudson with a chair for a lame DQ finish. The story plays into a stipulation for Breakker’s next title defense. However, there is blatant outside interference before the DQ that somehow was not a DQ.

The bout begins with Gacy and his druids watch the match from a perch looking out over the ring. This distracts Breakker enough that Hudson is able to gain an early advantage.

Breakker fights back to execute a delayed vertical suplex. Hudson powders out of the ring, and he is able to hit Breakker with a cheapshot. Breakker is slow to give chase because he is seemingly distracted by Gacy’s mind games.

Double down before the show cuts to a split screen commercial break. Gacy and the two druids arrive at ringside. Their arrival distracts Breakker while he is perched on the top turnbuckle. Hudson trips up Breakker, and Breakker bounces off the ropes to the outside.

The reoccurring theme on this show of working a body part continues in this match, as Hudson targets Breakker’s shoulder. The mind games by Gacy also continue.

Hudson sends Breakker crashing into the ring steps, and Hudson keeps working the shoulder. Gacy smiles in approval as he lurks around ringside.

Hudson attempts a Steiner Recliner, but Breakker counters him. Another cheap shot by Hudson, yet Breakker still manages to hulk up. Breakker comes back with a Rick Steiner powerslam, and Breakker pulls down the straps on his singlet.

The druids attack Breakker at ringside, but Breakker fights them off. Breakkers gets back into the ring, where Hudson is waiting with a metal folding chair. Breakker takes the chair away from Hudson. The druids rush into the ring, and Breakker quickly tossing them out. Somehow this is not a DQ.

Gacy jumps on the ring apron, and Breakker swings a chair in his direction. Gacy ducks the chair shot. Hudson spins Breakker around, and Breakker hits Hudson with a chair shot. The referee calls for the bell, as he disqualifies Breakker. The blatant outside interference by the druids is not grounds for a DQ, but the chair shot warrants a DQ. Go figure.

The DQ does play into the next title match, as the DQ rule is waived at In Your House. That means if Breakker gets DQ’d at In Your House in his match with Gacy, Breakker would lose the title. Gacy’s plan appears to be working as he flashes a sinister grin when the show fades to black.

Six matches announced for next week’s WWE NXT
