WWE has announced a new match for next week’s edition of NXT.
A six-person tag featuring The Schism’s Rip Fowler, Jagger Reid, and Ava vs. Diamond Mine’s Ivy Nile, and The Creed Brothers is now scheduled for the show.
On last week’s episode, Ivy Nile attacked Ava after The Dyad lost to Wes Lee and Tyler Bate in tag action. The two factions would later be involved in a pull-apart backstage.
For Ava, this will be just her third professional match. Her debut took place on the Stand & Deliver Kickoff show on April 1 when The Dyad wrestled Chase U. She also wrestled on a house show on April 14 in a tag match along with other members of The Schism.
Also announced for next week is a battle royal to determine the #1 contender to Tiffany Stratton’s NXT Women’s Championship, Damon Kemp vs. Eddy Thorpe, and the return of Ilja Dragunov.
WWE NXT 6/6 Lineup:
Women’s Championship number one contender battle royal
Eddy Thorpe vs. Damon Kemp
The Schism (Jagger Reid, Rip Fowler, and Ava) vs. Diamond Mine (Ivy Nile, Brutus Creed, and Julius Creed)

Rose’s NXT Women’s Championship and Satomura’s NXT UK Women’s Championship are both on the line on Sunday.
We’ll see the final build to those matches tonight, along with more additions to the Worlds Collide card.

Another six-person tag match has also been announced for the episode, with NXT UK Tag Team Champions Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen teaming with Fallon Henley against Pretty Deadly & Lash Legend.

Our live coverage begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time.
**********
The show opens with the entrance of Grayson Waller. He grabs the house microphone, but before Waller can speak, he is interrupted by the entrance of Apollo Crews.
Waller and Crews have exchanged some verbal jabs in recent week. Their war of words intensified last week during the debut of Waller’s talk show segment — The Waller Effect.
Grayson Waller defeats Apollo Crews
Waller pins Crews, after Crews suffers both an inadvertent eye poke during the match and a deliberate eye poke at the finish.
Waller tries some flashy moves, and he seems very proud of himself based on his taunting. Some old school rasslin’ from Crews as he rams Waller’s head into the turnbuckles several times, before giving Waller a high backdrop. Crews then speeds things for a pretty dropkick. Chants of “Apollo” from the crowd.
Creed mocks Waller’s earlier taunts, and then a delayed vertical suplex by Crews. On another exchange, Creeds sells like suffers an inadvertent eye poke. Cut to a split-screen commercial break while Creeds sells his eye.
Mostly all Waller during the break, and Waller is in control when the show returns. Crews fights back, and he goes for a slingshot senton. Waller counters the senton, and Waller catches Crews in a sleeper.
Crews is down as Waller begins to taunt him again. Waller pays for it again. Crews boots Waller with a kick, and Crews begins a comeback. Waller feeds into a series of lariats. Crews fires up into a Stinger Splash, and he leaps off the middle rope with a blockbuster for a near fall.
Waller escapes a military press, and he snaps Crews on the top rope. Waller then jumps into the ring to set up his finisher. Roll through into a pop-up cutter, and Cres tries to counter. Waller pokes Crews in the eye, and Waller comes down with the cutter. Waller then covers Crews for a pinfall.
A tremendous video package hypes NXT UK Women’s Champion Meiko Satomura. She narrates her life’s journey in pro wrestling. Included is clips of her on WCW Monday Nitro in the late ’90s. Addressing the triple threat match, Satomura warns her opponents will not defeat “the final boss.”
More implosion in Diamond Mine during a skit at the dojo. Strong tries to argue his case, but the Creeds are not hearing it. After Strong storms off, Damon Kemp says he doesn’t trust Roddy anymore either.
Ivy Nile enters the scene, and she chides the Creeds for pickering. She tells them to get it together. Tatum Paxley is with Nile, and Paxley is wearing a face guard. She says Nile injured her, but they still get along. The two then head to the ring for their match that is up next. But first, a cameo from the main roster…
Finn Balor is face-to-face with NXT Champion Bron Breakker in the locker room. Balor has advice for Breakker. Balor says he has beaten guys twice his size. Balor cautions Breakker to not underestimate NXT UK Champion Tyler Bate.
NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Katana Chance & Kayden Carter defeats Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley in a non-title match
Chance pins Paxley, after a distraction by Toxic Attraction.
During the match, NXT Champion Mandy Rose is seen watching the match from their couch on a perch inside the soundstage. Her Toxic Attraction pals, Gigi Dolan & Jacy Jayne, cause a distraction that gets the attention of Nile.
Paxley is left on her own against the champs, and they execute their tandem finisher on Paxley. Chance then hooks a leg and covers Paxley for a three count.
The champs cut a post-match promo. Chance & Carter say they set out to be fighting champions, but they have not one left to fight in NXT. Cue the interruption.
Doudrop and Nikki A.S.H. interrupt the champs, and they challenge the champs to a title match on Sunday at Worlds Collide. Chance & Carter accept the challenge, and they shake hands with the challengers to seal the deal. The match is later made official for Worlds Collide.
Kiana James from her office desk cuts a promo on Zoey Stark ahead of their match tonight.
Joe Gacy in a pre-tape promo has words for Cameron Grimes, saying the time has come to for Grimes to make his decision on Gacy’s offer to join Schism. My advice: Don’t.
Cameron Grimes has an answers for The Schism
After a commercial break, Gacy is in the ring flanked by The Dyad. Either there are edits that censor chants from the studio audience, or my feed is glitching. Then comes the “boring” chants.
Gacy has happy face pins, and he gives them to The Dyad, as this promo turns into some sort of weird awards ceremony. The Dyad speaks. The live studio audience cares about as much as when Gacy spoke. That is, not much.
Thankfully, Cameron Grimes interrupts The Schism. Here to save the segment, Grimes gets into the ring to confront them. Grimes is not here for their celebration, but he needs to talk with Gacy.
Grimes has an answer for Gacy on joining Schism.
“I don’t need you,” Grimes tells Gacy. Grimes does not need anyone for him to “go to the moon.”
Gacy responds that Grimes is lonely. Gacy tells Grimes to tell him that he is lonely, and Gacy will leave him alone.
Grimes reiterates he does not need anyone. Grimes turns to leave, when Gacy basically says he has no one, not even his father. That angers Grimes, and he explodes on them. Gacy tells his charges to back off, and Grimes backs away.
Roxanne Perez narrates a video package that recaps Cora Jade turning on her. Perez warns Jade to watch her back.
NXT UK Champion Tyler Bate is facetiming with Butch (Pete Dunne). Butch gives Bate some encouraging word ahead of the unification title match on Sunday.
Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) & Lash Legend defeats Josh Briggs, Brooks Jensen & Fallon Henley in a six-person tag team match
Prince pins Jensen, after outside interference from Gallus.
The babyfaces shine in the first half of the match. They clean house and clear the ring. Jensen then toss Henley over the ropes into a dive on the outside. The show cuts to a commercial break with the babyfaces in control.
The heel trio turns the tide after the break, and they isolate Jensen. Pretty Deadly works him over. Despite being trapped in a sleeper, Jensen is able to fall towards his corner for a tag.
Hot tag, and Briggs is a house of fire. Running bulldog and a famouser from Briggs. With him wearing jeans and cowboy boots, that combo of moves gave me flashbacks of The Smoking Gunns.
Double down after Prince and Briggs collide as both attempt a crossbody. Prince is booted out of the ring, and Briggs crawls over to tag out. Just before Briggs gets to his corner, out comes Gallus.
The arrival of Gallus distracts Jensen, and he jumps off the apron to confront them at ringside. Jensen dives onto them, and there is a pull-apart brawl. Meanwhile, Joe Coffey nails Jensen with a boot.
Dazed after being hit with the boot, Jensen is rolled up by Prince for a three count.
Gallus rushes into the ring for post-match brawl. Huge pull-apart as bedlam ensues.
Shayna Baszler confronts NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose. Baszler warns Rose she better win on Saturday. Do it for the brand, or all of Rose’s talk over the last year is “garbage” in hindsight.
JD McDonagh cuts a promo that portrays himself as creepy. The promo seems to indicate McDonagh’s next program is with Wes Lee.
Andre Chase (with Bodhi Wayward & Thea Hail) defeats Charlie Dempsey
Chase pins Dempsey, despite Dempsey looking strong with his Snake Pit style.
Lots of grappling, playing to the strengths of Dempsey. He puts Chase through a clinic, stretching him. Chase fights back with punches. Atomic drop leads into a leg sweep by Chase for a Bret Hart comeback.
Chase does a Garvin Stomp where chants from the studio audience spell out Chase U. However, Dempsey counters to apply a series of submission hold. The last being a crossface, and Chase struggles to make the ropes. Hayward at ringside tries to rally Chase. Dempsey kicks at Hayward, and Dempsey breaks the hold so he can leave the ring to attack Hayward.
Dempsey gives Hayward a gutwrench suplex on the floor. Dempsey gets back into the ring, only for him to get cradled by Chase. Chase grapevines a leg, and uses the grapevine to roll Dempsey into a pinning combination. A three count later, and Chase scores the pinfall.
Alba Fyre, a former NXT UK Women’s Champion, has encouraging words for current champ, Meiko Satomura.
WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther gives current NXT UK Champion Tyler Bate a pep talk. Gunther tells Bate he must win the unification match, saying to Bate that “European wrestling depends on it.”
Zoey Stark defeats Kiana James
Stark pins James to win clean. Nikkita Lyons runs in after the match to make a save when James attempts a post-match attack.
James attempts to get heat on Stark during the match. The live studio audience seems somewhat indifferent, although there is some half-hearted clapping and chants.
Comeback by Stark, and she rocks James with strike combos. James grabs a top rope to escape Stark’s finisher, and James briefly cuts her off. Moments later, Stark delivers her GTS finisher. Stark then scores a pinfall.
After the match, James attempts to hit Stark with a tote bag. Nikkita Lyons runs in for a save. Lyons jumps James and sends her fleeing away.
Blair Davenport is being interviewed by McKenzie Mitchell, when Rhea Ripley interrupts for a cameo appearance. Ripley tells Davenport she better win on Sunday, much like the other main roster talent did earlier in the show.
Nathan Frazer and Axiom are sitting next to each other reading comic books. There is an inside joke where Frazer chides the masked Axiom for not having the chance to wrestle on the NXT UK brand. The joke is Axiom wrestled for the brand as A-Kid. The skit sets up a best-of-three rounds match between the two.
Joe Coffey pins Kemp, following a distraction by Roderick Strong.
Things get going in the match. Builds to Diamond Mine with a triple clubbering spot. Gallus powders before a split-screen commercial break.
Gallus is eventually able to isolite Julius Creed, and they work him over. Hot tag brings in Kemp, and he cleans house.
Roderick Strong comes down to ringside holding a cellphone. He wants to show Kemp a video, which somehow proves Strong’s larger point or something like that. This is all kind of silly. More so when Kemp stomps on Strong’s phone, and Strongs oversells it.
Security tries to hold back Strong as he yells at Kemp to get back in the ring, which is more silliness.
Blind tag by Gallus, and Kemp is leveled by a lariat from Joe Coffey. Kemp is then pinned by Coffey, and Gallus is victorious.
Pretty Deadly run in after the match, and they attack Diamond Mine. Security geeks pour in, and a pull-apart melee ensues. The locker room empties as the brawl grows larger. Then the director cuts to the back like this is an old episode of Impact.
The six-man match was billed as the main event, but there is still plenty of more time left on the show. Something else is closing tonight’s episode.
Tommaso Ciampa is here for another main roster cameo. He has words for NXT Champion Bron Breakker. Cimapa with a pep talk for Breakker, telling him to win on Saturday.
Commentators Vic Joseph and Wade Barrett are about to run down the card for Worlds Collide, when there is an interruption. NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams are headed to the ring. Hayes is not booked for a match on Worlds Collide, so he and Williams are heading to ring to address that slight. WWDSD — What would Dennis Stamp Do?
Quincy Elliott cuts a promo teasing the NXT debut of “The Super Diva.”
Ricochet confronts and challenges the North American Champion
Hayes and Williams storm the ring. Williams cuts a promo hyping up Hayes. The North American champ is upset why the “A champion” is not on the Worlds Collide card.
Hayes declares he WILL NOT be on the card, as if it is a proclamation of some sort. I thought he was not booked. So, because he is not booked he vows to not show up. I guess that is what Dennis Stamp would have done.
Ricochet interrupts the segment, and Ricochet gets a superstar welcome. He tells Hayes and Williams to shut up for the sake of everyone. Ricochet then goes on to say he is here on “official business.”
Ricochet challenges Hayes to a title match on Saturday. The title bout is agreed upon. Williams and Hayes try to jump Ricochet, but he strikes both down. Ricochet grabs the title belt, and he stoops over Hayes. Ricochet then waves goodbye to Hayes as the show comes to a close.
The Gallus group from NXT UK appeared on Tuesday’s WWE NXT Heatwave show, attacking members of Diamond Mine.
During an in-ring promo segment teasing dissension between Roderick Strong and The Creed Brothers of Diamond Mine, Gallus’s Mark Coffey, Joe Coffey, and Wolfgang appeared, attacking Diamond Mine and leaving them laying.
Later on Heatwave, Gallus was involved in a pull-apart backstage with Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen, the current NXT UK Tag Team Champions. Briggs and Jensen captured the vacant titles on the June 23 episode of NXT UK.
Mark Coffey and Wolfgang are former NXT UK Tag Team Champions, holding the titles from October 2019 until February 2021 when they lost the titles to Pretty Deadly.
Joe Coffey headlined NXT TakeOver: Blackpool in January 2019, unsuccessfully challenging Pete Dunne in a WWE United Kingdom Championship title match. Joe Coffey was suspended by WWE in June 2020 after allegations against him surfaced as part of the #speakingout movement. He was reinstated in October 2020.
Three matches, plus a “final accord” segment have been announced for next week’s WWE NXT.
Prior to facing Mandy Rose for the NXT Women’s Championship at Heatwave on August 16, Zoey Stark will face Cora Jade on the August 9 NXT episode. Stark won a 20-woman battle royal to become number one contender to Rose’s title on the July 19 NXT.
Also set for next week, Trick Williams will face Wes Lee in an NXT UK-style rounds match. Lee looks to be next in line to face Carmelo Hayes for the NXT North American title, but needs to get through Williams first.
Additionally, Nikkita Lyons will be in action against Kiana James next week. The two delivered dueling promos on each other in backstage segments this week.
A “final accord” segment is also set for next week, with Tony D’Angelo and Santos Escobar. Escobar returned on this week’s show to cost D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo a shot at the NXT Tag Team titles.
NXT this week featured a title being pulled out of the trash and an eight-man tag team match in the main event.
Zoey Stark would kick off the show after winning the battle royal last week and earning the next shot at Mandy Rose’s NXT Women’s Championship. Stark challenged Rose to put the title on the line then and there but instead would face Toxic Attraction’s Gigi Dolin later in the show. After Stark defeated Dolin and fended off an attack from Jacy Jayne, Cora Jade came out of nowhere to hit her with a kendo stick. This led to Roxanne Perez making the save and sending Jade scurrying out of the ring. It was later announced that Stark will challenge Rose on the August 16 episode branded as NXT Heatwave.
The future of the NXT Women’s Tag Team titles was also addressed on this week’s show. After Jade tossed her title in the trash last week, Alundra Blayze helped Roxanne Perez pull it back out again this week. Blayze then announced the titles will be decided in a fatal 4-way match next week.
It was also announced that at NXT Heatwave, Bron Breakker will defend the NXT Championship against JD McDonagh.
In the night’s main event, The D’Angelo Family picked up the victory against the Diamond Mine, which may lead to further dissension amongst Roderick Strong, Damon Kemp, and the Creed Brothers.
An eight-man tag team match between Diamond Mine and members of Tony D’Angelo’s family is set to headline tonight on NXT.
Despite recent bickering between Roderick Strong and the rest of the stable, Strong, Damon Kemp, and The Creed Brothers will band together to take on D’Angelo, Cruz Del Toro, Joaquin Wilde, and Stacks in an eight-man tag team match.
After costing him a match against Giovanni Vinci, Apollo Crews will take on Xyon Quinn. Also, Wes Lee will face Grayson Waller in a singles match after the two have exchanged some back and forth in recent weeks.
Zoey Stark will open tonight’s NXT after winning a battle royal to determine the next challenger for NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose. She had been out of action since last October following knee surgery. Commentators noted that it was Mandy Rose and Toxic Attraction that laid out Stark backstage, writing her off television.
NXT coverage begins tonight at 8 pm ET.
***********
In an understatement that opens the show, Vic Joseph on commentary says “it has been newsworthy few days in WWE.” Tonight the show begins with someone that also made news on NXT last week.
Zoey Stark comes to the ring with fanfare, coming off her winning a battle royal in her return to NXT. Stark is amped as she says it feels good to be back in the ring.
Stark was not sure she could ever feel this moment again. She tore her ACL and MCL “straight off the bone” in a match last year at Halloween Havoc. Doctors told her she would out well over a year, but she knew deep down inside she could beat that timetable.
There were also hard times physically and mentally. Would the fans remember her? Would they still care? The live studio audience chants her name. They remember.
She points backstage in the direction of the trainer’s room. She lived in that room, and she busted her butt to return. She went on to return four months ahead of schedule.
Then came the night of the battle royal. That made all of the pain and hard times worth it.
“Look at me now!” Stark is now the number one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship after winning the battle royal.
Stark says the only thing that stand in her way is Toxic Attraction. The same women that nearly ended her career. Stark in turn vows to take the title from Mandy Rose.
With that, Cora Jade interrupts Stark’s monologue. Jade is standing on a perch overlooking the ring. Jade begins to talk trash, and Stark responds by pointing out she threw Jade out to eliminate her from of the battle royal.
Jade says everybody else teamed up on her. She accuses Stark of stealing her moment. Stark tells Jade she saw her “moment,” alluding to the heel turn. Stark says it was “disgusting” that Jade threw the NXT tag title in the trash can. They begin to bicker about that when the Toxic Attraction trio interrupts them.
NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose says it’s cute they are bickering over, when Rose herself could easily beat both of them. Rose notes that tomorrow she becomes the fourth longest reigning NXT Women’s Champion in history.
“Put some damn respect on my name!” Rose is quite proud of her accomplishment.
Stark has the “perfect way” to put respect on the champ’s name. Put the title on the line tonight, dares Stark.
Gigi Dolan chimes in to instead accept the challenge, setting up Stark against Dolan in match later tonight on NXT.
Tony D’Angelo addresses his family while they are gathered in the locker room. D’Angelo brags on them, but he reminds them must keep proving their loyalty. He says they will “crack skulls” tonight in the eight-man tag. It is not personal. It is just business. “Tony D. business.”
Grayson Waller defeats Wes Lee
Waller pins Lee after outside interference by Trick Williams.
Early on, Lee was too quick for an overconfident Waller. Eventually cut off by Waller, a quick rally by Lee leads into a commercial break. When the show returns from the break, Waller is in control.
Waller grounds Lee and works him over. High impact sit-out fireman’s carry slam by Waller for a near fall. Waller goes on the slap Lee.
The slap lights a fuse. Lee then slaps Waller across the face. Slaps turn into chops. Lee soon dives through the ropes with a tope suicida. Lee jumps on the turnbuckles.
Waller shoves Lee off the turnbuckles, and Lee falls to the floor. Lee gets up looking to get back into the ring. Someone stands up in the front row with a face covering, a trench coat, and wearing boxing gloves. That is Trick Williams in disguise. He then clobbers Lee in the back of the head, and Lee crumbles in a heap at ringside.
Meanwhile, the referee is counting to ten. Lee teases a countout, but he leaps back into the ring at the last moment at nine. Waller then does his flippy floppy cutter finisher, and he steals a pin from Lee.
Williams reveals himself as the assailant after the match, and he stands over a fallen Lee, posing with the boxing gloves. Williams was also wearing a cap that read “Trick Willy.”
McKenzie Mitchell interviews Schism. Joe Gacy is there with Jagger and Rip. Asked about Cameron Grimes, Gacy again invites him to join Schism.
Apollo Crews defeats Xyon Quinn
Crews pins Quinn clean after a chokeslam.
Another loss for Quinn. His push has cooled considerably. It is downright cold. He does get some heat on Crews during this match, but Crews makes a comeback to derail Quinn.
Quinn bumps and feeds into the rally. He takes a Stinger splash, and Crews follows with a short-arm clothesline for a two count. Crews then climbs the turnbuckles. An awkward high cross follows where they fall to the match like tall timber falling in the forest.
They trade near falls in the closing moments. Quinn then takes a backstabber and chokeslam from Crews. A three count immediately follows.
Sarray confronts Toxic Attraction backstage, where Sarray challenges Mandy Rose to a title match. Rose accepts the challenge, seemingly setting up a match for next Tuesday.
A video package hypes Solo Sikoa against Von Wagner. Sikoa, in a very well produced pre-tape promo, calls out Wagner for a match next week.
Zoey Stark challenging NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose in a title match in made official for a show dubbed “NXT Heatwave” that is three weeks away.
Zoey Stark defeats Gigi Dolan (with Jacy Jayne and Mandy Rose)
Stark cleanly pins Dolan. Cora Jade attacks Stark in a post-match angle.
Dolan works over Stark, including trapping her in a bow and arrow submission hold. Stark escapes and fights back, leading her getting a two count.
Things are going along when Stark hits Dolan with a superkick. Stark points in the direction of Rose before executing a modified GTS. Stark then scores a pinfall on Dolan.
Jacy Jayne tries to ambush Stark after the match, but Stark knocks her out of the ring. Starks turns around in time to thwart a sneak attack from Rose, and Rose bails out of the ring.
Stark is glaring at Toxic Attraction as they slink away. Cora Jade suddenly appears in the ring standing behind Stark. Jade hits Stark with a kendo stick, swinging it like a wild Sandman. Roxanne Perez rushed to ringside, running in to make a save. Jade hightails out of the soundstage.
JD McDonagh arrives to the building, and he has a ticket. He says tonight he is a member of “paying public.”
Wendy Choo losing to Tiffany Stratton is giving Choo’s nightmares. That is especially bad because Choo’s gimmick is she sleeps a lot.
NXT Champion Bron Breakker confronts JD McDonagh
McDonagh is now in sitting among the live studio audience. He has a microphone, so he must have some sort of VIP ticket. He proceeds to insult people in the crowd, and he bullies the timekeeper. McDonagh tells ring announcer Alicia Taylor she has a lovely voice. He has a snarky comment for Wade Barrett. McDonagh then bullies Vic Joseph.
McDonagh gets into the ring. What the heck kind of ticket did he buy? Anyway, McDonagh calls out NXT Champion Bron Breakker, daring him to come meet the “Irish ace” face-to-face in the ring.
Out comes Breakker, carrying the NXT Championship belt over his shoulder. Breakker says he will face McDonagh at NXT Heatwave, revealing another match for a the supercard in three weeks. Next week, Breakker says “we make this thing official.”
McDonagh with a cheap shot heatbutts Breakker, and Breakker strikes him back. McDonagh gets back up with a bloody lip, and he flashes a maniacal smile.
A wacky, yet entertaining, skit with Andre Chase and his Chase U students is a teaser for a match this is up next. However, it is not quite “up next” like they said.
First, a video package on Axiom. The wrestler formerly known as A-Kid debuted under a mask last week. He is comic book character come to life, or whatever. Seems like a generic masked guy, but time will tell.
And then a surprise appearance from a legend and WWE Hall of Famer.
Alundra Blayze cameo announcing tag title match for next week
Roxanne Perez, still holding her NXT tag title belt, has a message for Cora Jade. Perez says if Jade wants to throw away their friendship, “that is fine!” What Perez cannot stand for is Jade throwing her half of the titles in the trash. That is apparently a step too far. Perez then says someone else agrees with her.
In walks Alundra Blayze carrying a trash can. Jade bulls the other women’s tag belt in the ring. Blayze announces a fatal four way elimination tag team match for the vacant NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship next Tuesday.
Giovanni Vinci defeats Andre Chase (with Bodhi Hayward, Thea Hail and Nathan Frazier)
Vinci pins Chase. The wrong guy won this match. Nothing against Vinci, but the Chase character is really starting to get over with the live audience. Chase needs a win.
This is the match where the Andre Chase character finally won me over. I guess Chase U is infectious.
The match is going along when Chase eats a kick from Vinci. Chase gives him a receipt. Vinci grabs a Chase U flag from Hayward, and Vinci breaks the wooden flagpole across his knee in a show of strength. Vinci hurls the flag onto the floor. That fires up Chase, just as the show cuts to a commercial break.
A pep rally from the Chase U students leads to a comeback for Chase. He stomps on Vinci as the live studio audience spell out Chase U in unison with each stomp.
Near fall for Chase as the crowd is solidly into the match. They love Chase. Yet he is suddenly cut off, and Vinci executes a sit-out Last Ride powerbomb. Vinci then covers Chase for a pinfall.
Vinci attacks Chase again after the match. Frazier jumps in to make a save, and Vinci powders.
Pep talk time for Diamond Mine ahead of their main event match tonight. Julius Creed is hyping up the faction. Notably, Roderick Strong is not leading the pep talk. Likewise, the faction appears more united than in previous weeks where they have teased dissension.
Elektra Lopez exchanges words with Ivy Nile, leading to a pull-apart brawl that also involves Kayden Carter & Katana Chance.
Indi Hartwell defeats Arianna Grace
Hartwell pins Grace. Not particularly good. Grace tries to cheat by putting her feet on the ropes for an illegal advantage, but the referee catches her in the act. Grace then walks into a high kick, and Hartwell pins her.
Sanga has words of encouragement for Yulisa Leon & Valentina Feroz. They are entered in the fatal four way match for the vacant women’s tag titles.
Pre-tape promo with Von Wagner and Mr. Stone. There is a brief mention of Sofia Cromwell having left them to go be a model. Wagner says he doesn’t care, although he instead uses an expletive that is bleeped on the air. Vogner dares Solo Sikoa to fight him next week.
Kiana James, doing an educator gimmick, cuts a promo on Nikkita Lyons. This seems like an excuse to show photos of Lyons in revealing attire.
The ongoing feud between Alba Fyre and Lash Legend is the subject of a video package. Fyre and Legend meet in a match against each other next week.
Announced for next Tuesday on NXT:
Fatal four way elimination match for the vacant NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship: Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley vs. Gigi Dolan & Jacy Jayne, Katana Chance & Kayden Carter vs. Yulisa Leon & Valentina Feroz (billed as airing commercial free)
NXT Champion Bron Breakker and JD McDonagh face-to-face for a “NXT Heatwave Summit”
NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose vs. Sarray in a non-title match
Falls count anywhere: Solo Sikoa vs. Von Wagner
Alba Fyre vs. Lash Legend
The D’Angelo Family (Tony D’Angelo, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro) defeats Diamond Mine (Roderick Strong, Julius Creed, Brutus Creed & Damon Kemp)
D’Angelo pins Julius Creed, after Roderick Strong accidently hits Creed. The match got pretty good by the end with a lot of action.
Ivy Nile and Elektra Lopez are barred from ringside following their pull-apart brawl earlier in the show.
The match gets going, leading to a stalemate as both factions square up. A slugfest erupts into a Gordon Solie Pier Sixer. The smoke clears and the D’Angelo Family is huddled together, which is a perfect target for cannonball off the apron from Brutus Creed. The heels are mowed down like bowling pins.
Brutus is in trouble when the show returns from a commercial break. Hot tag to Kemp, and he runs wilds with explosive moves. Kemp is hoisting up Del Toro when Wilde jumps to clip Kemp’s knee with a chopblock.
The heels work over Kemp. Quick tags as they also keep Kemp in their corner of the ring. Working the leg, the heels target Kemp.
Kemp is finally able to crawl over and tag out. In comes Julius off a hot tag, and he cleans house. That includes a giant leap onto the top turnbuckle for a superplex on Wilde, and a German suplex on D’Angelo.
D’Angelo cuts off Julius, but Julius counters him to apply an ankle lock. Stacks jumps in to break up the submission hold. Brutus then levels Stacks with shoulder tackle that sends Stacks airborne. Wilde and Del Toro then strike with a double team move on Brutus. Kemps knocks Wilde out of the ring, just before Kemp takes a missile dropkick from Del Toro. Jumping knee strike from Strong hits Del Toro, and Julius follows up with a sliding lariat. Same knee and lariat combo on Wilde, as Julius and Roddy look to one-up the other.
Julius holds D’Angelo so Strong can deliver a jumping knee strike. However, D’Angelo moves, and Strong instead hits Julius with a jumping knee. Stacks then knocks Strong out of the ring. D’Angelo grabs a prone Julius Creed, and D’Angelo uses a fisherman’s buster as the finishing move. D’Angelo then scores a three count on a laid out Julius.
Alundra Blayze is leaving the building with the NXT women’s tag belts. Blayze is asked who she thinks will win the tag titles in the fatal four way. She says all four teams are excellent, but “the last team standing will earn the right to be called champions.”
Blaze is confronted by Jayne & Dolan. They Blayze to hand them the titles. She teases handing the belts to them, but sike. Blayze snacthes the belts away, and she says win them next week if they want them. The show closes with Dolan & Jayne ranting to Blayze as she walks away.
Damon Kemp was introduced as the newest member of the group on tonight’s NXT 2.0 episode during a backstage segment involving Roderick Strong and The Creed Brothers.
Dissension continues to be teased between Strong and the Creeds, as Strong interfered in their match last week against The Viking Raiders, leading to a Creed Brothers win.
The Creeds informed Strong that they have a rematch against Viking Raiders on next week’s episode, and Strong responded by introducing Kemp. The Creeds said that new members were supposed to be a group decision, as the issues between the three continue brewing.
Kemp, real name Bobby Steveson, is the older brother of WWE signee and Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson. He made his in-ring NXT debut on the January 11 episode, losing to Cameron Grimes. Kemp has also appeared on 205 Live, NXT Level Up, and scored a win on last week’s NXT UK episode.
Kemp signed with WWE last year, and his training at the WWE Performance Center was first reported in February 2021.
WWE NXT 2.0 Spring Breakin’ is officially in the books. Join on-camera personality Denise Salcedo on her weekly NXT 2.0 post-show. There’s a lot of topics to touch on including the recent NXT releases, pros of NXT 2.0, and so much more.
This show featured a lot of skits, a hot opener for the NXT North American Championship, and an NXT Championship match.
This is the best way to stay-up-to-date with the new NXT.
A poker showdown, as well as two matches, were announced for next week’s WWE NXT.
Duke Hudson challenged Cameron Grimes to a poker showdown after Grimes defeated Ru Feng on tonight’s program. Hudson was mad that Grimes had beat him in poker the previous week, running down his appearance and calling Grimes a hick. Grimes accepted the challenge for next week.
A six-man tag team will also take place. Diamond Mine (Roderick Strong and the Creed Brothers) will team together to take on Jacket Time (Ikemen Jiro and Kushida) and Odyssey Jones. The Creed Brothers defeated Jacket Time on this week’s NXT due to interference from Strong. Jones came out and evened the odds as retaliation for Diamond Mine’s assault on Jones the previous week.
Tony D’Angelo is also set to face Dexter Lumis on next week’s show. D’Angelo met with Indi Hartwell tonight during a promo and gave her a fish as a gift, saying it was for Lumis.
Diamond Mine’s Julius & Brutus Creed are set to make their in-ring debut.
WWE uploaded a video on Saturday with Diamond Mine manager Malcolm Bivens announcing that the Creed brothers will debut on this Tuesday’s episode of NXT. The team that they’ll be facing hasn’t been announced.
Julius Creed (Jacob Kasper) signed with WWE last October, while Brutus Creed (Drew Kasper) joined his brother at the Performance Center this February. Both were amateur wrestlers in college. Jacob, who was recruited to WWE by Gerald Brisco, was a two-time NCAA All-American at Duke University and won the 2018 ACC heavyweight championship. Drew wrestled at Otterbein University.
On NXT two weeks ago, a video aired where Julius and Brutus Creed were shown training with Roderick Strong and Diamond Mine coach Hachiman. The Creed brothers then appeared with Diamond Mine as Strong defeated Ikemen Jiro on NXT last week.
In the video where Bivens announced that the Creed brothers will be making their debut, Emily Andzulis can be seen in the background training with Hachiman. Andzulis signed with WWE in January 2020. She was the first female champion on Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s “The Titan Games.”

NXT Tag Team Champions MSK defend against Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch
NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Io Shirai & Zoey Stark defend against Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter

The Diamond Mine arrived in the show-closing angle of last night’s NXT.
The returning Roderick Strong was revealed as part of Diamond Mine as he attacked NXT Cruiserweight Champion Kushida at the end of last night’s show. Strong, Tyler Rust, and the debuting Hideki Suzuki appeared together and were wearing Diamond Mine tracksuits. They’re being managed by Malcolm Bivens.
Kushida lost a non-title match to Kyle O’Reilly in the main event of last night’s NXT. A brawl between O’Reilly and Adam Cole then broke out when Cole tried to attack O’Reilly after the match. With Kushida left alone in the ring, he was attacked by Strong. Bivens threw Kushida’s Cruiserweight title belt on top of him after the attack. Bivens declared that this is Diamond Mine.
Weeks of teaser videos had aired leading into the debut of Diamond Mine. They showed unidentified athletes working out at an MMA gym.
Before returning last night, Strong had resigned from NXT in an angle this April. His resignation came after the breakup of Undisputed Era.
Rust hadn’t appeared on NXT since March prior to last night.
Suzuki joined the WWE Performance Center in a coaching role earlier this year. WWE wrote about Suzuki when he signed with the company: “Hideki Suzuki joins the WWE PC’s coaching staff. The Hokkaido, Japan, native trained in catch-as-catch can wrestling at Japan’s Snake Pit under the legendary Billy Robinson before stepping into the ring for Big Japan Pro Wrestling, Wrestle-1 and Zero1, among others. In 2017, Suzuki was named the MVP of Japanese independent wrestling by Samurai TV.”
Roderick Strong returned to NXT tonight as part of the brand’s newest faction.
After several weeks of teaser videos, it was revealed that the Diamond Mine would be opening on tonight’s NXT. The show ended with Strong, Tyler Rust, and Hideki Suzuki appearing in Diamond Mine tracksuits as Strong attacked Kushida. Malcolm Bivens appeared with Strong, Rust, and Suzuki as Diamond Mine’s manager.
Kushida lost to Kyle O’Reilly in the main event of tonight’s NXT. Adam Cole then tried to attack O’Reilly after the match. With the brawl between O’Reilly and Cole leaving Kushida alone in the ring, he was then attacked by Strong. Bivens threw Kushida’s NXT Cruiserweight Champion on top of him after the attack. Bivens declared that this is Diamond Mine.
Tonight was Strong’s first appearance on NXT since an angle where he resigned from the brand this April. Strong handed in his resignation following the implosion of Undisputed Era.
Suzuki is a former star for Big Japan Pro Wrestling. It was announced in April that he had joined the WWE Performance Center as a coach. Tonight was Suzuki’s NXT debut, but he wasn’t identified by name.
Rust’s appearance tonight was the first time he’s been on NXT since March.
The teaser videos leading into Diamond Mine’s debut showed unidentified athletes working out at an MMA gym with phrases like “Pressure Makes Diamonds” appearing on the screen.
The Diamond Mine will be revealed on NXT next Tuesday.
At the end of a video that aired on NXT tonight, it was announced that the Diamond Mine will be “opening next week.” Vignettes teasing the opening of the Diamond Mine have been airing since April, but few details have been revealed about what Diamond Mine is. The teasers have shown unidentified athletes working out at an MMA gym with phrases like “Pressure Makes Diamonds” appearing on the screen.
The following matches have also been announced for next Tuesday’s NXT:
Kyle O’Reilly vs. Kushida
Adam Cole in action
Franky Monet’s second match in NXT
Hit Row (Top Dolla & Ashante “Thee” Adonis) vs. Ever-Rise (Chase Parker & Matt Martel)
In storyline, O’Reilly and Cole are choosing their own opponents for next week’s NXT. O’Reilly chose Kushida as his opponent, while Cole hasn’t revealed who he’ll be facing. Cole vs. O’Reilly is set for NXT Great American Bash on Tuesday, July 6.
WWE also hasn’t announced who Monet will be facing next Tuesday.
– “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase made an appearance on tonight’s NXT and interacted with Cameron Grimes.
There was a segment on tonight’s show where Grimes went to a jewelry store and tried to buy the most expensive watch in the city. After Grimes purchased a watch from the store, DiBiase appeared next to Grimes and told him it’s not a bad watch — but it’s not a million dollar watch. DiBiase showed Grimes his own watch and laughed in Grimes’ face.
Grimes’ character became extravagantly wealthy after investing in GameStop stock and purchasing Dogecoin. DiBiase had been referenced on NXT last week when Grimes said he attempted to buy an NFT of NBA player Ja Morant, but DiBiase came in and outbid him after the auction was over.
In February, Grimes tried to copy DiBiase’s bit where he offers someone money to dribble a basketball and then kicks the ball away. After he failed to replicate the bit multiple times, Grimes got frustrated and said DiBiase isn’t smarter than him.
DiBiase said during an appearance on Booker T’s Hall of Fame podcast earlier this month that he was scheduled to go to the WWE Performance Center to do something involving Grimes: “As a matter of fact, I’m supposed to go down to the developmental center pretty soon. I think I’m gonna do something with that new guy, their new money guy, Cameron Grimes or something. I’m gonna have a little feud with him.”
– A teaser for “Diamond Mine” also aired on tonight’s NXT. The teaser showed footage of unidentified athletes working out at an MMA gym. “Thrive. Achieve. Succeed,” “Push Beyond, “Pressure Makes Diamonds,” “Pressure is Pleasure,” “Train. Perform. Become,” and “Fight. Win. Repeat” appeared on the screen during the teaser:
WWE had filed a trademark for “Diamond Mine” in December. This was the first teaser using the Diamond Mine name.
