Kevin Knight emerged as the surprise winner of the Casino Gauntlet match and the vacant TNT title during Sunday’s AEW Dynasty, scoring the pinfall over Daniel Garcia after hitting the UFO splash.
Knight’s win cements him as a singles champion 24 hours after he, Mistico, and Speedball Mike Bailey lost the Trios titles to The Dogs (David Finlay, Gabe Kidd, and Clark Connors) on AEW Collision.
After the match, Knight celebrated his title win while his tag team partner Mike Bailey appeared dejected at ringside, failing to win the title in his home country.
Former champion Tommaso Ciampa and Rush started the match Over time Bandido, Bailey, El Clon, PAC, Daniel Garcia, Anthony Bowens, Knight, and Wheeler Yuta emerged. Knight scored the win over Garcia while Bailey was on the apron.
The title was declared vacant after former champion Kyle Fletcher suffered an injury to his foot late last month on an episode of Collision. The TNT title was soon declared vacant and the Casino Gauntlet match was announced.
It has been less than 12 months since Thekla’s debut in AEW, but she has already made a great impression on her boss.
Tony Khan discussed Thekla and some of the other talent he signed in 2025 during an appearance on The Masked Man Show.
“I think when you look at the champions on the women’s side, I would say absolutely Thekla would be … the MVP of the new arrivals as world champion,” Khan said. “And she’s been fantastic.”
Khan pointed out how Jamie Hayter was Thekla’s first rival in the promotion.
“When [Thekla] arrived, she had a goal of winning the world title, but the very first thing she did was go after Jamie Hayter,” he said. “And Jamie Hayter been a huge part of AEW, one of our most popular stars, a former world champion. And Jamie Hayter versus Thekla I think is a really compelling, exciting rivalry, and I’m excited for their match this weekend at AEW Dynasty. I think Thekla’s been a huge part of the company on the women’s side.”
Khan also called his current trios champions “fantastic signings.”
“All three of them,” he said. “They represent very different places in their careers, different experiences, different backgrounds, but three great wrestlers that we’ve signed in the past year in Mistico and Speedball Bailey and of course the Jet Kevin Knight. I can’t believe those two have only been around for a year. I’m the biggest Speedball fan in the world. They’ve had an incredible run.”
Mistico & Speedball Bailey & Kevin Knight will defend their AEW World Trios Championships against the Dogs on Collision this Saturday, April 11. The next night, Thekla will defend her AEW Women’s World Championship against Hayter this Sunday, April 12, at AEW Dynasty.
AEW International Champion Kazuchika Okada will put his title on the line against Kevin Knight as part of this Saturday’s AEW Collision.
It will be the third time the two have squared off and the first since Knight upset Okada in last year’s Continental Classic. The two also went one-on-one earlier last year in a Continental title eliminator that Okada won.
Knight, Mike Bailey and Mistico defeated Okada, Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher for the AEW Trios titles at this month’s Revolution pay-per-view.
Since losing to Jon Moxley in the Continental Classic finals at December’s Worlds End, Okada is 3-0 with two successful title defenses (Adam Priest, AR Fox). Knight is 4-2 in his last six and is coming off a recent win over El Clon.

Brand new Trios champions have been crowned at AEW Revolution.
Toward the final stages of the AEW Revolution PPV, fans saw The Don Callis Family (Kazuchika Okada, Mark Davis, and Kyle Fletcher) defend their Trios titles against Mistico, Kevin Knight, and “Speedball” Mike Bailey.
Following a closely contested fight and several near falls, the final moments of the match saw Mistico trap Fletcher in with La Mistica, Bailey hit Davis, and Knight follow it up with a Frog Splash on Davis and cover him for the pinfall victory.
With the pinfall win, Bailey, Knight, and Mistico crowned themselves the brand new AEW Trios Champions, ending The Don Callis family’s short title reign. Shortly after the win, production hit Mistico’s theme song as the crowd joined in. As the Los Angeles crowd vibed to the song, the news of Mistico’s All Elite signing was also announced.
Interestingly, Mistico, 43, is also a CMLL World Trios Champion with Mascara Dorada and Neon in CMLL. Former AEW Trios Champion Adam Page is currently scheduled to be in a Texas Deathmatch against MJF for the AEW World title.
The full lineup is now official for this Saturday’s AEW Collision — the go-home edition ahead of Sunday’s Revolution pay-per-view.
The show is being taped after Wednesday’s Dynamite with spoilers coming to our site later tonight.
In a first time ever match, Andrade El Idolo (pictured above) will take on CMLL’s Mascara Dorada ahead of his match with Bandido Sunday.
Ahead of her challenge of both the TBS and Women’s Tag Team titles Sunday, Lena Kross will go one-on-one with Mina Shirakawa.
Before challenging for the Trios titles Sunday, Kevin Knight will take on El Clon while one of those champions — Mark Davis — faces the returning Komander. It’s Komander’s first AEW action since January.
After returning to the ring this month as part of the marathon ROH tapings, Juice Robinson will compete in AEW for the first time since December, teaming with Ace Austin and Austin Gunn against The Demand.
The show is rounded out by a Triangle of Madness trios match and an appearance by Kris Statlander. Statlander will challenge Thekla Sunday for the AEW Women’s World title in a 2/3 falls match.

Fightful Select is reporting that Knight has recently re-signed with the company. He signed a one-year contract at the start of 2025, but the new contract is now a multi-year deal. It was noted that Knight is highly regarded within the company.
Knight, 29, got his break in pro wrestling as a Young Lion when he joined NJPW in 2020, training at the company’s dojo in LA. During his time in the company he teamed with KUSHIDA, where they held the IWGP Junior Tag Team titles on two occasions.
In January of 2025, Knight chose to leave NJPW and joined AEW, where he and Speedball Mike Bailey quickly formed their JetSpeed tag team, wrestling some of the top teams in the company. They, along with Hangman Adam Page, beat The Opps back in January to win the AEW Trios titles. They proceeded to lose those titles on this week’s Dynamite after Don Callis demanded an impromptu title match. Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher, and Mark Davis emerged as the new champions, pinning Knight.
On a new Wrestling Weekly, Les Thatcher and Vic Sosa look at the fallout from last weekend’s WWE Elimination Chamber and some creative team shakeups this week in the company.
The guys also talk about the newest members of the WWE Hall of Fame and a rough night for Kevin Knight and Jet Set Rodeo this past Wednesday in AEW.
AEW has announced two brand new title matches as a part of the updated AEW Revolution lineup.
A few weeks ago, Thekla defeated Kris Statlander to become the new Women’s World Champion in a Strap match. She followed it up with a title defense win over Thunder Rosa. However, after their match on the March 4 episode of Dynamite, Statlander stopped the Triangle of Madness (Thekla, Julia Hart, & Skye Blue) from attacking Rosa.
Shortly after, AEW President Tony Khan announced on social media that Thekla will defend her title against Statlander in a two-out-of-three falls match on March 15th at AEW Revolution.
In the main event of Wednesday’s Dynamite, Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher, and Mark Davis defeated Adam Page, Kevin Knight, and Mike Bailey to win the AEW World Trios title.
With Page scheduled for a title match against MJF, Okada, Fletcher, and Davis will now defend their Trios titles against Knight, Bailey, and Mistico at AEW Revolution.

Tony Khan has named Kevin Knight and Persephone as two bright young stars who have a great future ahead of them.
While appearing at Super Bowl Radio Row on Thursday, Khan spoke with Compas on the Beat. When asked to name one male and one female AEW wrestler that could be AEW’s next big star, Khan had his response ready.
“I would say we have a great young group of wrestlers. I’m very excited about AEW and our partnerships with companies around the world. And, I think two wrestlers that are under dual contracts, that I’d say you want to watch for the future in AEW and worldwide, ‘The Jet’ Kevin Knight, who is coming from New Japan Pro Wrestling and is a fantastic young American wrestler, ‘The Jet’ Kevin Knight,” Khan stated.
“Who is signed to both AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling. And he is now one-third of the AEW World Trios Champions as the Jet Set Rodeo. I think, ‘The Jet’ Kevin Knight, whether it’s in trios, tag teams as JetSpeed or ‘The Jet’ as a singles star. That’s one to watch for the future in any wrestling promotion in the world.”
“As far as young female wrestlers, Persephone, who works with AEW and CMLL, has come in. I think Persephone is fantastic. She also wrestled for me in ROH, and I think Persephone has all the tools. And again, talk about our partnerships, dual contracts, she’s a great star for CMLL, and she can be a great star in AEW too.”
Last year, after Persephone competed at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2025, WWE reportedly became interested in her. However, Bryan Alvarez later provided an update on her and claimed that WWE never approached her with a contract offer because of her CMLL contract obligations.
Persephone, 24, has been competing in CMLL since 2023 and has also been an active part of AEW and ROH since 2025.
Knight, 29, made his first AEW appearance in 2022, while still working with NJPW. Following several more sporadic appearances, Knight made his Collision singles debut in 2025, before finding himself in the popular tagteam with JetSpeed with ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey. Knight currently holds the World Trios titles with Bailey and Adam Page.
Tag team partners Kevin Knight and “Speedball” Mike Bailey will face off against each other in Cardiff, Wales for AEW this weekend.
The JetSpeed duo are set to collide in a Continental Classic Gold League match on AEW Collision this Saturday (December 13). The matchup is part of the lineup for the special Winter is Coming edition of Collision that’s being held at Utilita Arena. The episode has an early start time, airing live on TNT and HBO Max starting at 4:30 p.m. Eastern.

In the Gold League so far, Knight and Bailey each have a 1-1 record through their first two matches. Knight’s win was against Darby Allin on Thanksgiving eve, while Bailey defeated Kyle Fletcher in a highly praised matchup earlier this week.
Fletcher and Kazuchika Okada are tied for the Gold League lead with 2-1 records and six points. One of Fletcher’s wins was a victory over Okada.
The tournament runs through AEW Worlds End on December 27, with the semifinals and finals both set to be held at the pay-per-view.
Here is the updated Collision lineup for Saturday:
AEW Collision Winter is Coming (December 13) —
TNT Champion Mark Briscoe defends against Daniel Garcia
Julia Hart & Skye Blue vs. Jamie Hayter & Kris Statlander
Swerve Strickland vs. Josh Alexander
Continental Classic Blue League: Claudio Castagnoli vs. Konosuke Takeshita
Continental Classic Gold League: Kevin Knight vs. “Speedball” Mike Bailey
The newly-created CMLL Dream Matches event was announced on Wednesday’s CMLL Informa with three AEW stars confirmed for the show.
The event, set for Friday, December 19 in Arena Mexico, will see new CMLL Heavyweight Champion Claudio Castagnoli defend against Ultimo Guerrero in a first time ever match.
Castagnoli defeated Gran Guerrero last week to win the title. The 58-year-old Ultimo Guerrero is looking for his third run with the gold and his first since 2021.
In a match featuring two competitors in the Continental Classic tournament, CMLL Historic Welterweight Champion Mascara Dorada will defend against “Speedball” Mike Bailey in another first time ever match. Dorada has held the title for more than 700 days with just three title defenses in that time.
In a rematch from July’s Fantastica Mania, Neon will take on Kevin Knight after defeating him in that match.
Those two matches come out of last month’s Viernes Espectacular where Neon and Dorada defeated Knight and Bailey.
Our Bryan Alvarez reported on Wednesday’s Wrestling Observer Radio that Allin did get hurt in his match with Kevin Knight on last week’s Dynamite, but it’s unclear at what point he got hurt. Alvarez speculated it was on a coast-to-coast dropkick he took from Knight, but couldn’t confirm.
Alvarez said Allin was not in the hospital for the entire week and was cleared to leave, so Allin was eventually able to travel home. The actual injury has still not been revealed or reported.
As far as whether Allin will be able to continue in the Continental Classic, the impression Alvarez got is that when it was said they will get more information on Saturday’s Collision, that was a legitimate statement. It’s unclear whether or not Allin will be able to continue as it all depends on how he is doing.
CMLL has announced the lineup for Friday’s show at Arena Mexico and a few names from AEW are scheduled.
Mistico and Komander vs. The Beast Mortos and Barbaro Cavernario is set to headline the show. Also, AEW tag team JetSpeed (Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight) will make their tag team debut in Arena Mexico when they face Mascara Dorada and Neon.
For Bailey, this will be just his second match for the promotion. He also wrestled as part of Team International in the Grand Prix Internacional 2025 Torneo Cibernetico Match on August 29. This will be Knight’s first time back in CMLL since losing to Neon in a Lightning match at Fantastica Mania Mexico on June 20.

Dax Harwood has nothing but praise for one young AEW star.
Speaking on the Beyond the Bell Podcast, the multiple time tag team champion said that Kevin Knight could be one of AEW’s bigger stars in the next few years, saying FTR’s chemistry with JetSpeed compares only to one of their top rivals back in their NXT days.
“I’ll tell ya, JetSpeed….I text Chad Gable, I said, we have more chemistry with JetSpeed than anybody else we’ve had since we wrestled American Alpha. I think Kevin Knight is going to be our main event ace,” he said. “I’ve never been with someone in the ring who knows ring positioning, who is as smart as he is, who knows timing…I could say a million good things about him, but he will be a big star for us in about three to five years.”
Knight, 28, made his debut in 2019 and started training at NJPW’s LA Dojo the following year. He signed with AEW earlier this year and began teaming with Speedball Mike Bailey. The two have been feuding with FTR in recent weeks, recently costing them a match against the Bang Bang Gang on Collision.
Both Knight and Bailey will take part in a Casino Gauntlet match to crown the first-ever AEW National Champion at AEW Full Gear later this month.
